PASSENGER DOOR SENSOR IS TELLING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT IS SHUT. IT WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY LOCK OR ALLOW ME TO LOCK THE DOOR WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION (IT POPS BACK UP). WHEN MOTOR IS TURNED OFF THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON. FOR A LONG TIME INDICATING THAT THE DOOR IS NOT SHUT. THE FREQUENCY OF THIS PROBLEM HAS WORSENED OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS. AND NOW THE SEATBELT LATCH DOESNT WORK PROPERLY
ON DECEMBER 31, 2015, I EXPERIENCED A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. THIS WARNING APPEARED IN THE DASH DISPLAY. I HAD NO POWER STEERING IN THE CAR. I WAS TRYING TO PULL OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED WHEN DRIVING. TURNING OFF AND RESTARTING THE CAR HAD NO EFFECT IN CLEARING THE FAILURE. ALSO HAD AN ADVANCE TRAC WARNING APPEAR ON THE DASH AND THE TURN SIGNALS WOULD ONLY OPERATE IF HELD MANUALLY IN POSITION. I KNOW THERE WAS A RECALL (FORD RECALL NUMBER 15S18) ISSUED WHICH COVERS THIS PROBLEM IN FORD FLEX VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE MINE. MY FLEX WAS BUILT 9/25/2012. THE DEALER CORRECTED THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING PSCM. HOWEVER, SINCE THE MILEAGE PUT THE CAR JUST OUT OF WARRANTY, I HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. IT APPEARS THAT THE STEERING PROBLEM CONTINUED ON CARS BUILT AFTER FEB. 2012 WHICH WAS THE BUILD DATE SPECIFIED IN THE ABOVE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE THE BUILD DATE FOR COVERED REPAIRS TO BE EXTENDED AND COMMUNICATED TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I AM UNABLE TO UPLOAD THE DOCUMENTATION AT THIS TIME.
THE DRIVER DOOR ALWAYS SAYS ITS OPEN AND THE LIGHT ON THE INSIDE TO THE CAR STAY ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AT A CERTAIN SPEED, THE ALARM ALSO RANDOMLY COMES ON. THE CAR BATTERY STAYS DEAD BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THE CAR WILL BE OFF AND THE ALARM WILL BE SET THE ALARM WILL SOUND SO I CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS.
THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED CAUSING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS TO TURN ON. AT NIGHT THIS IS A PROBLEM. THE ALARM GOES OFF AT RANDOM TIMES DURING THE DAY & NIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A MONTH AS OF 12/18/15.
ON THE EVENING OF 12/18/15 (10:00PM), AFTER STARTING UP THE CAR, NONE OF THE CONTROLS LOCATED ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND STEERING WHEEL COLUMN WOULD OPERATE. I HAD NO TURN SIGNALS AND NO WIPERS AND NO CRUISE CONTROL. A MINOR INCONVENIENCE WAS THAT I COULD NOT OPERATE ANY SYSTEMS NOR THE RADIO FROM THE STEERING WHEEL. AFTER TURNING OFF THE VEHICLE AT HOME THE CAR ACTED AS THOUGH THE KEY WAS STILL IN THE IGNITION EVEN THOUGH IT HAD BEEN REMOVED AND THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF. I HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO KILL THE HEADLIGHTS. WHEN I RECONNECTED THE BATTERY THE FOLLOWING MORNING ALL SYSTEMS WERE WORKING AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS IN TRAFFIC AND APPROACHING A HILL, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT TO DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WHICH FAILED TO ENGAGED PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND DECELERATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER, PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START-UP. ADDITIONALLY, THE BACK OVER PREVENTION CAMERA FAILED TO ILLUMINATE WHILE IN REVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WERE UNKNOWN ELECTRICAL FAILURES ON THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CREST FORD OF NIANTIC (218 FLANDERS RD, NIANTIC, CT 06357, (860) 739-5403) TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FUEL SENSOR AND ACL MODULATOR WERE REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BY EMAIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000.
MY PASSENGER DOOR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN THE DOOR CLOSED. CAUSING MY INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON & KEEPS MY DOORS FROM LOCKING. THIS HAPPENS AT DIFFERENT TIMES AT FIRST IT WAS WHEN I FIRST START THE CAR NOW ITS COMING ON WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. NOW WE ARE QUESTIONING THE SAFETY OF MY PASSANGER WHEN I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS IS ALSO A ISSUE WHEN WE GET OUT OF THE CAR SINCE IT CAUSES MY INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON UNNECESSARILY FOR A LENGTH OF TIME.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Flex. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, there was an abnormal gasoline odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. The contact stated that the odor of gasoline was constant. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V812000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL OF THE SECOND ROW SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RETRACT, LATCH, AND UNLATCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PERRY FORD OF POWAY (12740 POWAY RD, POWAY, CA 92064, (858) 748-1400), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE SEAT BELTS WERE REPLACED FIVE TIMES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. IN ADDITION, THE SECOND ROW DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BELT JAMMED AND UNJAMMED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000. *LN CONSUMER STATED FORD EVENTUALLY BOUGHT BACK MY CAR UNDER THE LEMON LAW BUT NEVER SENT ME A PRE-AID MAIL PACKAGE TO SHIP BACK THE DAMAGED AIRBAG-SEATBELT COMPONENTS I HAD REPLACED FROM MY CAR THE YEAR PRIOR. *JB *BF *JB
BOTH PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SENSORS ARE MALFUNCTIONING KEEPING THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON WHICH IS DRAINING BATTERY. LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF UNTIL A CERTAIN SPEED IS REACHED WHILE DRIVING.(CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE!!!) ALSO ALARM KEEPS GOING OFF RANDOMLY AND THE FREQUENCY IS INCREASING.
POWER ASSIST HAD INTERMITTENT FAILURE. I COULD RESET BY TURNING VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING. THIS HAPPENED BOTHE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES UPON STARTUP.TOOK TO DEALER, THEY REFRESHED STEERING ASSIST COMPUTER. POWER ASSIST FINALLY FAILED COMPLETELY. RESEARCHED ON WEB AND FOUND FORD HAD RECALL OF 2013 FLEX STEERING. HOWEVER MY VEHICLE FELL OUTSIDE BUILD DATE STATED IN RECALL. IT IS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THE PROBLEM OCCURRING AS STATED IN RECALL WAS NOT FIXED IN LATER BUILT VEHICLES. SHOULD THE RECALL BE EXPANDED? I BELIEVE SO. THIS FAILURE SHOULD NOT OCCUR THIS EARLY IN THE VEHICLES LIFE AND IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT FAILS WHEN DRIVING. DATE BELOW IS THE LAST FAILURE WHICH THE DEALER WANTS $500.00 TO REPAIR
THE CAR STARTED SMOKING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHICH THE BATTERY WAS LEAKING ACID FROM THE TERMINAL. THIS HAPPENED WHILE IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH I THOUGHT I WAS GIVEN BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. PASSENGER DOOR SENSOR MAY BE THE CAUSE. FROM NO CLEAR CONNECTION.
THE DOOR AJAR SENSOR COMES ON WHEN YOU GET IN AND CLOSE THE DOOR.WHILE DRIVING THE SHIFT TO PARK WARNING SENSOR COMES ON WHEN YOU STOP OR YIELD.THIS HAPPENS OVER AND OVER WHILE DRIVING. IT'S SENSING DOOR AJAR THEREFORE LEAVES ALL DONE LIGHTS ON.IF YOU SLAM DOOR REALLY HARD SOMETIMES LIGHTS WILL GO OFF BUT YOU HAVE TO SIT AND WATCH TO MAKE SURE.AT NIGHT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE.VERY UNSAFE.SOMETIMES I HAVE TO DISCONNECT BATTERY IN FEAR OF IT DYING AND THEN BE LEFT STRANDED.THEY SAID IT'S THE DOOR HINGE AND PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR 20 MORE DAYS, I CAN'T IMAGINE DEALING WITH THIS FOR THAT LONG FOR SURE I'M GONNA NEED A NEW BATTERY.

IN ADDITION, THE DOOR AJAR WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTING WOULD SPORADICALLY ILLUMINATE EVEN WITH NO DRIVER OR PASSENGER IN THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE VEHICLE HAD DIFFICULTY LOCKING WHILE THE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR MANUFACTURER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. OUR FORD VEHICLE HAS A BROKEN DOOR LATCH THAT HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. OUR DOOR AJAR LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON AND WE NEVER KNOW IF OUR DOOR IS SAFELY CLOSED OR NOT. THUS FAR, ALL FORD REPRESENTATIVES HAVE NOT BEEN HELPFUL. THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM AND TO CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE. CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST TOLD ME THAT IF MY VEHICLE ISN'T RECALLED THEN I SHOULD FIX IT AND KEEP MY RECEIPT. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT IT'S A COINCIDENCE THAT MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS OVER A MILLION+ OTHER FORD VEHICLES. WHAT STEPS DO I TAKE TO GET MY VEHICLE ADDED TO THE RECALL? THIS STARTED MONTHS AGO (PROBABLY ALMOST A YEAR AGO) WE THOUGHT MAYBE A SENSOR WAS OFF BUT THE PROBLEM KEPT GETTING WORSE AND ONCE A RECALL WAS ISSUED THE PROBLEM MADE SENSE. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR UNLOCKED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SALERNO DUANE FORD LOCATED AT 267 BROAD ST, SUMMIT, NJ 07901, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT A SIMILAR FAILURE PREVIOUSLY OCCURRED ON THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
DOOR AJAR SENSOR STARTED MALFUNCTIONING ON THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS AGO AND CORRECTED ITSELF AT ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SENSOR STARTED MALFUNCTIONING ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO. NOW BOTH ARE MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO STAY ON AND CHIME TO TELL ME TO PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AT ANY TIME. THIS ALSO CAUSES THE DOORS TO AUTOMATICALLY STAY UNLOCKED WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION (CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE). I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER WITH A LIST OF HOW OFTEN THIS HAPPENS AS SEEN HERE ONLINE BUT THEY SAY THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BUT WILL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO CHARGE ME $109.00 PER HOUR TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AJAR SENSOR MALFUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING
FORD FLEX 2013 DOOR AJAR LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED AFTER DOORS ARE SHUT. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT CLOSING DOOR TIGHTLY AND DOOR APPEARS FIRMLY SHUT, THE LIGHT STILL INDICATES OPEN. ALSO, DOORS DO NOT AUTO LOCK WHEN CAR IS PARKED FOR SOME TIME AND DOORS DO NOT AUTO LOCK WHILE DRIVING. VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH CHILDREN TRAVELING WITH ME EVERYDAY IN THE BACK SEATS. I HATE TO THINK WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS DON'T DEPLOY BECAUSE THE SENSORS INDICATE THE DOOR IS OPEN. MY CAR HAS 28,000 MILES ' WELL UNDER THE FACTORY WARRANTY OF 36,000 BUT FORD WILL NOT COVER THE REPLACE PART BECAUSE I AM SECOND OWNER WITH THE CAR HAVING PASTED IT'S 3YR MARKER. THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE FOR FORD AND SHOULD BE HANDLED AS A SAFETY RECALL.
DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY AND SENSOR. I HAVE REPLACE 2 ALREADY WITHIN 1 YR AND NOW NEEDING TO REPLACE ANOTHER ONE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. I AM OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF MY MILES NOT BECAUSE OF THE YEAR OF THE VEHICLE.
RECENTLY, WHEN DRIVING CAR SUDDENLY FEELS AS THOUGH IT SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL, WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY HIGHWAY. I COASTED TO A PARKING LOT OFF OF THE SERVICE ROAD, TURNED CAR OFF AND RESTARTED. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWICE LATELY. FOR MONTHS I HAVE DEALT WITH DOORS SHOWING AJAR, EVEN WHEN CLOSED. INSIDE LIGHTS STAY ON... AND ALARM SOUNDS OFTEN. FIRST IT WAS THE PASSENGER DOOR, NOW THE DRIVER DOOR AND RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR CONSTANTLY SAY AJAR. ALARM SOUNDS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. IT HAS BECOME NECESSARY TO DISCONNECT BATTERY CABLE EVERY NIGHT IN ORDER FOR THIS NOT TO HAPPEN. RECENTLY HAD TO PURCHASE NEW BATTERY. PASSENGER DOOR WAS REPAIRED AT NO COST TO ME... BUT DEALERSHIPS WANT TO CHARGE ME $1000 TO REPAIR DOOR LATCHES ON DRIVER DOOR AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR, WHICH ON A 2013 VEHICLE IS RIDICULOUS. THIS OBVIOUSLY IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD... AND SOON!
THE DOOR AJAR WARNING LIGHTS AND SOUNDS CONTINUE TO ILLUMINATE AND MAKE NOISE, EVEN WHEN THE DOOR IS CLOSED AND RECLOSED MANY TIMES. IT HAS BECOME QUITE IRRITATING, AND THE DEALERSHIP 'CLEANED' THE SENSOR THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED, SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. NOW, IT ISN'T UNDER WARRANTY, WITH NEARLY 40,000 MILES ON IT, AND I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART ALONE COSTS $300.00. WORSE YET, THE PART IS ON BACKORDER, WHICH INDICATES THAT THIS ISN'T AN ISOLATED INCIDENT. IN FACT, I LOCATED SEVERAL SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE WHILE RESEARCHING MY ALTERNATIVES. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF FORD WOULD OWN UP TO THIS DEFECT AND FIX THE PROBLEM FOR ALL FLEX OWNERS. I HAD TO ELECT NOT TO HAVE IT FIXED AT THIS TIME, DUE TO THE EXPENSE AND THE INAVAILABILITY OF THE PART. MY SANITY MAY DISAGREE WITH THIS DECISION!
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS CAME ON AND SENSOR SAID REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AJAR. SINCE LIGHTS CAME ON IN CAR DURING THE NIGHT MY VISION WAS EFFECTED. THIS HAS NOW BECOME AN ONGOING PROBLEM AND THE LIGHTS WILL NOT SHUT OFF WHEN I'M TRYING TO LOCK THE CAR. I HAD THE CAR SERVICED AND TOLD THE DEALER ABOUT THE ISSUE, THAT SAID THEY COUL NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND IF IT PERSISTS THEY CAN DRIVE THE CAR FOR 30 MILES TO SEE IF IT GOES OFF AGAIN.
THIS IS THE THIRD DOOR JAM MODULE THAT HAS WENT BAD. DRIVERS SIDE DOOR, PASSENGER DOOR AND NOW THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR. IT SAYS THE DOOR IS NOT SHUT. FORD IS NOT WANTING TO OWN TO THIS MESS AND THE VENDOR HAS INSTALLED FAULTY DOOR JAM SWITCHES THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT DURING THE DAY HE KEEPS THE LIGHTS ON, DRAINING THE BATTERY. AT NIGHT, WHILE DRIVING IT LEAVES THE INNER LIGHTS ON AND IS HARD TO DRIVE WITH LIGHTS ON THIS INSIDE AND AT NIGHT YOU CANNOT LOCK YOUR CAR BECAUSE IT SETS OFF THE CAR ALARM. THIS IS THE LAST FORD I WILL BUY. PLEASE MAKE A RECALL ON THIS .
LEFT FRONT DOOR SHOW ADJAR WHEN SHUT
ON VACATION IN SMOKY MOUNTAINS. THURS AUG 13 - STEERING ACTING STRANGE. STOPPED TO CHECK POWER STEERING FLUID AND FOUND OUT ITS ELECTRICAL. NO WARNING LIGHTS ON AT THAT TIME. CALLED FORD - TOLD NO STEERING RECALLS ONLY FUEL DELIVERY MODULE. TALKED TO 2 SERVICE DEPTS AT FORD AND WAS TOLD TO GET IT CHECKED WHEN WE GOT BACK HOME. CONTINUED OUR DAY. DRIVING ON TOP OF 2ND TALLEST MOUNTAIN ON EAST COAST - CALLED CLINGMANS DOME. WE HEAR 4 LOUD BONGS AND CHECK POWER STEERING LIGHT COMES ON AND POOF - NO STEERING. TOOK ALL WE HAD TO AVOID GUARD RAIL, ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND DEATH ON THE TOP OF THIS MOUNTAIN. GOT IT TO A STOP. HAD TO FIND TOW TRUCK TO PULL IT OFF MOUNTAIN. DROPPED AT FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD POWER STEERING FAILURE AND THEY REPLACED ENTIRE RACK. FORD WONT PAY RENTAL, TRAUMA FOR KIDS THAT WONT RIDE IN IT AGAIN, HAVE TO DRIVE 6 HRS TO GO GET CAR. FORD DOESNT CARE!!! WAS TOLD BY MY REGIONAL FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REP THAT VEHICLES DO NOT COME OFF OF THE ASSEMBLY LINE PERFECT AND THATS WHY WE HAVE WARRANTIES.
FORD IS HAVING MANY ISSUES WITH THE DOOR LATCHES ON THE FORD FLEX, FORD EDGE AND TAURUS. THE FAULTY DESIGN DOESN'T RELAY TO THE COMPUTER THAT THE DOOR IS ACTUALLY CLOSED WHEN IT IS AND TENDS TO START A CHAIN OF EVENTS THROUGHOUT THE CAR. 1) AT HIGH SPEEDS IT WILL ACTUALLY UNLOCK ALL FOUR DOORS. 2) IT WILL ALSO DO IT AT EVERY STOP SIGN WHEN THE FOOT IS REMOVED FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL, WHICH THEN ALLOWS THE DOORS TO BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE AND INSIDE SO A CHILD COULD ACTUALLY OPEN THE DOOR. 3) AT ALL SPEEDS INCLUDING HIGHWAY IT WILL SUDDENLY TURN ALL INTERIOR LIGHTS ON ALLOWING THE DRIVER TO BE POSSIBLY BLINDED MOMENTARY UNTIL THE SPEED SENSOR SHUTS THE LIGHTS BACK OFF BUT THEN IT FLASHES THEM AGAIN. 4) IT WILL ALSO NOT ALLOW YOU TO LOCK THE DOORS AT ANY TIME. 5) LIGHTS STAY ON THINKING THE DOOR IS AJAR AND WITH VEHICLE OFF WILL ALLOW THE BATTERY TO DROP BELOW SAFE OPERATING LEVELS BEFORE THE BATTER SAVE FEATURE KICKS IN.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.
THE DOOR FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR WENT BAD AND TELLS CAR THAT DOOR IS AJAR. THIS WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY LAST YEAR. NOW YESTERDAY THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED TO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR SENSOR. THIS WAS QUOTED TO ME AT $700. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A BAD DOOR SENSOR THAT FORD HAS PUT BAD AND FAULTY SENSORS ON. I FEEL THAT I SHOULD NOT BE LIABLE FOR .THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN TOWN SAID, "THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH FORD FLEX". THIS DOOR AJAR SENSOR KEEPS LIGHTS ILLUMINATED DRAINING THE BATTERY, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS KEEPS THE LIGHTS ON WHEN DRIVING, AND AT NIGHT MAKES IT VERY VERY HARD TO SEE AND DRIVE. THIS WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO FAULTY DOOR SENSORS.

THE VEHICLE STILL CONTINUED TO HAVE A STRONG FUEL SMELL. THEY CLAIM IT WAS RESIDUAL LEFT OVER FROM THE REPAIR. IT HAS NOW BEEN A MONTH SINCE THE REPAIR AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUES TO EMIT A STRONG FUEL SMELL.

NO MATHER FROM WHAT BUTTON IS PRESSED, KEY, TRUNK OR FROM THE SIDE DASH THE DOOR ONLY OPENS HALF WAY AND CLOSES RIGHT BACK. WE NEED TO MANUALLY PUSH THE DOOR UP TO COMPLETLY OPEN THE TRUNK DOOR, SAME FOR CLOSING.
