GAUGES IN DASH ALONG WITH THE REST OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CUTS IN & OUT WHILE DRIVING. NOW, CAR WILL NOT START BUT DISPLAYS SAME PROBLEMS WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START VEHICLE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING MY FORD FOCUS, THE RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING PUSHED ITSELF PAST THE LOWER STOP ABOVE THE STRUT AND RESTED THERE. HAD IT GONE FURTHER, THE FRONT END WOULD HAVE COLLAPSED.*AK
KEY WILL NOT TURN IN IGNITION, STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, BRAKE PETAL LOCKED, GEAR SHIFT LOCKED. CAR OUT OF WARRENTY. FORD EMERGENCY ROAD SERVICE WON'T HELP BECAUSE OF EXPIRED WARRENTY. CALLED NEAREST FORD DEALERSHOP (TOM HOLZER), GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER OF THEIR "TOWING" PERSON, TRIED 12 TIMES, GOT VOICE MAIL, NO CALL WAS EVER RETURNED. (I WAS "STUCK" IN A BANK PARKING LOT.. AND THEY WERE READY TO CLOSE) THE BANK PERSONEL WERE KIND ENOUGH TO LET ME USE THEIR PHONE AND PROVIDED A PHONE BOOK, BESIDES EVERY MALE IN THE BUILDING INDIVIDUALLY TRIED ANYTHING THEY COULD THINK OF TO GET MY CAR TO START... WITH NO LUCK. AFTER CALLING @ 6 LOCK SMITHS WITH 24 HOUR EMERGENCY ROAD SERVIE, I FINALLY FOUND ONE THAT KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT... HE INFORMED ME THAT HE GETS A CALL ON THE SAME PROBLEM APPROX. ONCE A WEEK ON FORD FOCUS'S. EVEN HE CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A "RECALL" ON THIS DEFECTIVE PART?? HE ALSO TOLD ME WHAT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD HAVE CHARGED ME TO REPLACE IT... @$550.00!! FORTUNATELY FOR ME THERE ARE STILL HONEST AND KIND PEOPLE AROUND, FORD DID "NOTHING" TO HELP ME!! I CAN'T IMAGINE I'M THE "ONLY" PERSON THAT HAS COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM, WHY HASN'T ANYTHING BEEN DONE ABOUT IT? WHEN THIS HAPPENS, YOU'RE DEFINATELY STRANDED!! *AK
LEFT BRAKE PAD AND ROTOR COMPLETELY WORN AFTER 24000 MILES OF GENTLE DRIVING. FORD REFUSED TO COVER THE PADS AND ROTOR UNDER THE WARRANTY. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS NOT HELPFUL OR FLEXIBLE. *AK
STEERING WHEEL PRODUCES A WHINE NOISE WHEN TURNING. *MR THE WHINE WOULD BE PRESENT WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED. THIS WAS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THE DEALER ALSO NOTICED THE NOISE AND DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS FRICTION IN THE STEERING MECHANISM AND LUBED THE STEERING. THE NOISE CONTINUED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE DEALER HAD BECOME UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *SC *JB
FAULTY WHEEL BEARING SEALS ON 2001 FORD FOCUS.*MR THE SEALS FAILED WHICH RESULTED IN THE WHEEL BEARINGS ON BOTH WHEELS TO FAIL COMPLETELY. THERE WAS A RECALL REGARDING THE ISSUE, HOWEVER THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. *JB

2001 FORD FOCUS Z3 COOLING LOW SPEED FAN SYSTEM RESISTOR FAILURE, HOT LEAD WIRE IN PLASTIC SHIELDING MELTED , INSULATION MELTED FROM SOCKET TO SOURCE SOCKET. CONTACTS OVERHEATED/MELTED, CIRCUIT'S FUSE DID NOT BLOW. HIGH SPEED FAN CONTINUES TO OPERATE WHEN AIR CONDITIONER IS TURNED ON. CAR OVERHEATS IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE LOW FAN MOTORS DO NOT COME ON, NEVER NOTICED PROBLEM AS AIR CONDITIONER USUALLY ON ALL THE TIME. HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR PAST 6 MONTHS. JUST NOW CHECKED RESISTOR AND FOUND BURNED WIRING. NO FIRE, NO INJURIES BUT GIVEN DIFFERENT CIRCUMSTANCES COULD BE A FIRE PROBLEM. THE FUSE SHOULD HAVE PROTECTED THE CIRCUIT BUT HASN'T. *AK
I OWN A 2001 FORD FOCUS W/ 45,000 MILES. I WAS LEFT STRANDED MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2004 WHEN THE IGNITION IN MY AUTOMOBILE LOCKED UP. I PLACE THE KEY IN THE IGNITION (WITH SOME DIFFICULTY) AND I AM UNABLE TO TURN THE KEY. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT APPEARS THAT MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS EXPERIENCE W/ 2000/2001 FORD FOCUS. MY CAR REMAINS IMMOBILE AND I AM UNABLE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM UNTIL AFTER THE HOLIDAY WEEKEND. FROM WHAT I HAVE READ, I CAN ANTICIPATE $350-500 TO REPLACE IGNITION. *LA
2001 FORD FOCUS FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS SEVERELY WORN AFTER 25,000 MILES. ROTOR AND BRAKE PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED ON BOTH FRONT TIRES BY FORD DEALER. *JB
WHILE DRIVINGTHE VEHICLE STALLED. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM. THE DRIVER INFORMED THE MECHANIC THAT THIS PROBLEM STILL OCCURS, AND HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *NM *TC
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION. THE DEALER STATED THE FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTIONED AND WAS NOT SENDING FUEL TO THE ENGINE. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
I PURCHASED MY 2001 FORD FOCUS IN OCTOBER 2001. IN APRIL 2003, I HAD TO GET THE FRONT BRAKES, PADS, SHOES AND ROTORS REPLACED. THIS IS AFTER I HAD ALWAYS TAKEN MY CAR IN FOR SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE. I WAS TOLD THAT NONE OF THIS WAS COVERED. I WAS OUT OF OVER $400. THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED AGAIN 13 MONTHS LATER. EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE MAJORITY OF MY DRIVING IS HIGHWAY AND I CAN'T GET AN EXPLANATION FROM FORD. I PURCHASED A LEMON. THE SWITCH ALSO BROKE ON MY TURN SIGNALS. IT WOULD NOT AUTOMATICALLY TURN OFF. THIS HAPPEN IN FEB. 2003. AGAIN, A YEAR LATER, THE SAME THING HAS HAPPENED. SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS. *MR
SINCE AUGUST 2003, I HAVE EXPERIENCED IGNITION LOCK FIVE (5) TIMES WITH MY 2001 FORD FOCUS. FIRST TWO "REPAIRS" (8/03 AND 12/03) WERE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, AND SUPPOSEDLY REPLACED THE IGNITION CYLINDER. I NEVER SAW THE OLD PART. HOWEVER, WHEN VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN FOR SUBSEQUENT REPAIR TO THE SAME PROBLEM (2/04), I WAS TOLD THAT A PERMANENT REPAIR WOULD REQUIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE STEERING COLUMN AND WOULD COST ME $500+, BUT THAT THE IGNITION CYLINDER COULD BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. I GOT NO RESPONSE TO MY INQUIRY ABOUT WHY NO PERMANENT FIX HAD BEEN MADE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I DIRECTED THEM TO PERFORM THE REPAIR I COULD AFFORD - THE CYLINDER. I NEVER SAW THE OLD PART THAT TIME EITHER. THE CAR WAS RE-KEYED AS WELL. THE IGNITION LOCKED AGAIN ON 5/20/04, AND AFTER I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY HAD REPLACED THE TUMBLERS AND RE-KEYED THE VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT ANY SUBSEQUENT REPAIRS WOULD BE AT MY EXPENSE, AS THEY WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. THE IGNITION LOCKED AGAIN ON 5/25/04. *LA THE INITIAL REPAIR TO THIS PROBLEM WAS MADE UNDER WARRANTY. IT WAS NOT A PERMANENT REPAIR, ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SERVICE BULLETINS AND A SIGNIFICANT RECORD OF COMPLAINTS ISSUED ON THIS SAME PROBLEM FROM EARLY 2001. AT NO POINT HAVE I RECEIVED A SATISFACTORY ANSWER, FROM THE DEALER OR FROM FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS, TO WHY THE PERMANENT REPAIR WAS NOT PERFORMED IN AUGUST 2003. I FEEL THAT THE DEALER MADE NO ATTEMPT TO EFFECT A REPAIR ON THIS PROBLEM WHILE IT WAS WARRANTED, BUT STALLED WITH TEMPORARY FIXES UNTIL THE MILEAGE/AGE OF THE VEHICLE WOULD REQUIRE ME TO PAY, BOTH FOR PARTS AND LABOR. AS IT NOW STANDS, I WILL BE TAKING MY VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR THE REPAIR AND A SECOND OPINION, AND HOPE I CAN GET MY MONEY BACK. I REFUSE TO PAY EVEN TEN CENTS FOR A REPAIR BY A SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT HAS ALREADY FAILED TO MAKE THE SAME REPAIR FOUR TIMES!
DURING A 5 MPH REAR END COLLISION, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. THE PARTICLES INSIDE THE AIR BAG CAUSED 3RD DEGREE BURNS TO THE CONSUMER UPPER BODY. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION. *JB
RIGHT PASSENGER COIL SPRING HAD BROKEN AND WENT THROUGH THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE. *MR *SC
UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE KEYS FAILED TO TURN IN THE IGNITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHO INDICATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH LOCKED UP. THE DEALERSHIP WILL HAVE TO DRILL THE IGNITION SWITCH OUT, TO REPLACE IT. *JB THIS WAS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THAT FORD WILL NOT RESPOND TO. *SC *JB
THE LEFT REAR DOOR WOULD INTERMITTENTLY OPEN WHEN MAKING A TURN WHILE DRIVING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE LEFT REAR DOOR ACTUATOR. *AK THE RIGHT REAR AND FRONT LOCKS WERE INOPERATIVE AS WELL. THE DOORS WOULD NOT UNLOCK BY REMOTE OR KEY INSERTION. THE DOORS HAD TO BE MANUALLY OPENED FROM WITHIN THE VEHICLE. THE RADIO HAD AN INTERNAL DEFECT. *SC
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR FAILS TO STAY SHUT, EVEN WHEN LOCKED. THE DOOR FLINGS OPEN WHILE DRIVING. *AK
FORD OF OCALA SOLD ME A BIO HAZARD CAR THAT HAS RUINED MY LIFE, MY HEALTH, MY FINANCES, AND POSSIBLY MY FUTURE. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING, EVER, KNOWING I WAS BEATEN DOWN, SICK AND FORCED INTO DEBT FROM THE LOSSES THIS CAR CAUSED ME. THEY KNEW I COULD NOT AFFORD AN ATTORNEY, SO THEY, AND THE ATTORNEY GENERAL AND THE FLORIDA GOVERNOR ALL JUST TREATED MY ISSUE AS UNIMPORTANT... BLEW ME OFF. WHILE DRIVING RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR OPENED. THE LATCH RUSTED FROM RAIN COMING IN. *AK
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT STEERING PROBLEMS. WHEN HE TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS CONSUMER WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS IGNITION CYLINDER. CONSUMER COULD NOT MAKE ANY TURNS, STEERING LOCKED, AND COULD NOT GET KEY OUT OF IGNITION CYLINDER. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TWICE IN 8 MONTHS, BUT PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
THE REAR DOOR LATCHES FAILED, THE DOORS WOULD NOT STAY LATCHED AND WOULD OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. AFTER A $300 REPAIR ONE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. *AK *SC *JB
THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE AS DESCRIBED IN THE BATTERY CABLE RECALL 02V288000. HOWEVER, THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO VIN. *AK
IGNITION CYLINDER IS LOCKED. KEY WONT TURN IT, BUT THE KEY WILL UNLOCK THE DOOR. HAVE HEARD OF THIS HAPPENING OFTENT OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL.
AT AROUND 36,000 MILES I WAS TOLD THAT MY FORD FOCUS NEEDS NEW ROTORS WITH THE BRAKE JOB. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HEAR OF ROTORS NEEDING TO BE CHANGED AT THIS LOW MILAGE. I HAD TO PAY FOR THE NEW ROTORS. *AK
MY CAR STALLED AFTER COMING AROUND A SHARP RIGHT HAND TURN. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND CARRIED ON A FEW MORE YARDS WHEN THE ENGINE STALLED AGAIN. I TRIED TO START THE CAR SEVERAL MORE TIMES BECAUSE I WAS STUCK AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE FREEWAY ON-RAMP IN VERY BUSY TRAFFIC. I COULD NOT GET THE CAR STARTED AND HAD TO GET IT TOWED AWAY. THE MECHANIC AT THE REPAIR OUTFIT REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER AND SAID THAT THE OLD ONE WAS CLOGGED UP WITH DIRT. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY FOCUS OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM. I THINK THIS RELATES TO RECALL #03V482000. *AK
KEY WILL GO IN TO THE IGNITION BUT YOU CAN NOT TURN. FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THEY NEED TO DRILL OUT THE IGNITION AND REPLACE THE CYLINDER IN THE STEERING COLUMN, AND THEN GET A LOCKSMITH TO MAKE A NEW KEY. TOTAL COST OF $350 PLUS A $50 TOWING FEE.

MY 2001 FORD FOCUS STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WHEN I WOULD PUT MY KEY IN THE IGNITION AND IT WOULDN'T TURN , IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL MINUTES FOR MY CAR TO TURN ON. EVENTUALLY AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO TURN THE KEY IT NEVER DID, AND I WAS FORCED TO TOW MY CAR HOME. I WILL HAVE TO PAY OUT OF MY OWN POCKET TO TOW IT TO THE DEALERS AND THEY SAID THAT THE COST TO FIX WILL RANGE FROM $350-600. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER WITH TWO KIDS ON A LIMITED INCOME, THERE IS NO WAY I WILL BE ABLE TO AFFORD THIS.*AK
KEY WILL NOT TURN. CALLED DEALER AND IT APPEARS THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM AFFECTING MANY FORD FOCUS'. AFTER SEARCHING THE WEB I SEE THAT IS TRUE. DEALER WANTED $325 + TOW TO REPLACE IGNITION. NOT SURE IF THAT INCLUDED REKEYING. IN ANY EVENT, I FOUND A LOCKSMITH WHO WILL COME TO MY RESIDENCE AND REPLACE THE IGNITION WITH A BETTER ONE THAN FORD IS OFFERING FOR SUBSTANTIALLY LESS MONEY.*AK
WHILE DRIVING MY 2001 FORD FOCUS OVER A 6 LANE SUSPENSION BRIDGE FROM PA TO NJ, MY CAR STARTED TO ACT AS IF IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS. CAR SLOWED WITHOUT WARNING THEN DIED,THIS HAPPENED AS A 18 WHEEL TRUCK WAS BARING DOWN ON ME AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. SITTING AS A DEAD DUCK THE TRUCK BARELY MADE IT AROUND ME NEARLY CAUSING A MULTI CAR ACCIDENT. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR (BARELY KEEPING IT RUNNING) I SLOWLY MADE IT TO THE TOP AS IT DIED AGAIN , I GLIDED DOWN THE BRIDGE IN NEUTRAL, I PULLED OVER AT THE END OF THE BRIDGE AND RESTARTED THE CAR AGAIN, THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ON THE HIGHWAY, EACH TIME HAVING TO PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR.. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND HAD TO FIGHT FORD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP, WHICH SEEMED TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM UNTIL NOW.. THIS TIME I ALMOST GOT KILLED.. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THIS HAPPENS! PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS BEFORE SOMEONE DIES. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH CONSUMER SMELLED A BURNT ODOR COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE DUE TO EXPOSED WIRES. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND PULLED OVER. PASSENGER EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND DISCONNECTED THE FUEL BOX. VEHICLE WAS TOWED. *AK
THE IGNITION - THE KEY WON'T GO IN, OR GOES IN HARD, BUT WILL NOT TURN. I AM TOLD THAT IT NEEDS A NEW STEERING COLUMN, IGNITION AND COMPUTERIZED KEY, AND THE WARRANTY WON'T COVER THE $800+ CHARGE. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THE KEY HAS BEEN STUCK IN THE INGITION.*AK
AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2001 FORD FOCUS ZX3, MY TAIL END STARTED TO SWAY OUT FROM UNDERNEATH ME. THEN I NOTICED A LOUD NOISE FROM THE REAR OF MY VEHICLE. I THEN PULLED OVER TO INSPECT THE SITUATION AND NOTICED MY WHEEL BEARING WAS NOT SECURED PROPERLY. THEN I WENT ONLINE AND RESEARCHED FORD FOCUS RECALLS AND DISCOVERED THERE TO BE ONE ON THIS ISSUE. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT PAT & DAN'S DELBALSO FORD DEALERSHIP IN KINGSTON, PA. THEY REFERRED ME TO FORD'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT. AFTER SPEAKING TO FORD, I MADE A RETURN CALL TO DELBALSO FORD AND THEY SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR ME. THEY MADE ME WAIT ABOUT A WEEK FOR THE APPOINTMENT AND THEY MORNING OF, I MADE A CALL FOR THEM TO GET MY CAR WHEN THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME. AS A RESULT I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO GET TO COLLEGE WHICH IS ABOUT 20 TO 30 MILES AWAY FROM MY HOME. ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE MISSED WORK BECAUSE OF THIS AS WELL. I MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO HAVE MY PROBLEM RESOLVED BY CONTACTING THE FORD MANUFACTURERS' SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEIR RECALL HAD BEEN CANCELLED. THEY WENT ON TO SAY THAT THEY WERE JUST BEING "NICE" AND ASSISTING THEIR CUSTOMERS BY PERFORMING THE "WARRANTY PROGRAM" AND THAT THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR RECIEVED ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THE PROGRAM. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT WHEN OWNERSHIP CHANGES AND ALL WARRANTY INFORMATION IS SENT TO THE MANUFACTURER, THE MANUFACTURER WAS LIABLE FOR ALL RECALL INFORMATION TO BE SENT OUT. I WAS NEVER MAILED NOR BEEN CONTACTED ABOUT THIS WARRANTY PROGRAM SINCE I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE. I FEEL THAT I HAVE BEEN WRONGED AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO SUFFER BECAUSE OF IT. THE PEOPLE AT FORD MOTOR CO. HAVE BEEN VERY RUDE AND OBNOXIOUS OVER THE FACT THAT THEY ARE "EXEMPT" FROM ASSISTING ME WITH MY PROBLEMS. I FEEL SINCE I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THE PROGRAM THAT THEY SHOULD BE MANDATED TO HELP ME. WHEN I WAS DRIVING I COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERLY INJURED BECAUSE OF THEIR PRODUCT FAILURE THAT THEY KNEW OF AND COULD HAVE PREVENTED.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT BRAKES AND TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPLACED THEM. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. THE KEY WILL GO INTO THE IGNITION (AND THE DINGING SOUND STARTS), BUT THE KEY WILL NOT TURN. *JB
WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *MR *SC *JB
THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE FRONT BRAKE PADS ON THE VEHICLE WERE WEARING OUT PREMATURELY. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE PADS WERE WEARING DOWN AT LESS THAN 8000 MILES. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS NORMAL WEAR FOR THIS TYPE OF BRAKE PAD. *JB
THE LIGHT BULB AND FUSES OF THE REAR TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKE LIGHTS MELTED TOGETHER MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLACE THE LIGHTBULBS, THUS THE ENTIRE TAIL LIGHT HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE WHEN IT WAS FINALLY ABLE TO COME OUT THE PLASTIC ON THE LIGHT WAS BROKEN.*AK
MY REAR WHEEL BEARINGS FAILED TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THEY FAILED AT 8,000 MILES AND WERE REPALCED BY THE DEALER UNDER A RECALL PRGRAM. THE SECOND TIME, WHICH IS THE BASIS FOR THIS COMPLAINT, THEY FAILED AT 43,000 MILES (THIS IS ONLY 35,000 MILES LATER). THE DEALER CHARGED ME TO HAVE THEM REPLACED DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE CONCEDED THAT IT WAS PREMATURE BEARING WEAR. BOTH TIMES I HEARD A LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMEING FROM MY REAR WHEELS.
VEHICLE SHAKES AND DIES ERRATICALLY. TOOK TO DEALER FOR FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY RECALL. REPAIR HAS NOT FIXED. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, STEP ON GAS ALL THE WAY AND CAR DECELERATES AND LOSES SPEED. INTERMITTENTLY DIES WHEN THIS HAPPENS. ALSO SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHILE STOPPED LEADING TO STALLING. ALL OF THE ABOVE HAVE HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IN THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. I THOUGHT THE RECALL FOR FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY WOULD FIX IT, BUT IT HAS NOT. GETTING PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. *NM
MY CAR JUST STARTED TO STALL OUT.. I HAD FORD REPLACE THEW FUEL FILTER AND PUMP STILL HAS THAT PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH TRANSMISSION SLIPPED GEARS. THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE CAUSE WAS NOT DETERMINED. *AK
2001 FORD FOCUS 34500MILES; AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION UNEXPECTEDLY DROPS OUT OF GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPPEDS AND UNDER LOAD . ALSO BRAKES AND ROTOR SHOT AT 345OO MILES. FORD CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL. CANNOT BELIEVE IT.*AK
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND RUNNING, THE REAR WINDOW FELL THROUGH THE VEHICLE. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
