I HAD A INSPIRATION
ON AT LEAST 4 VARIOUS RANDOM OCCASIONS OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL YEARS, WITH THE FOCUS IN MOTION ON A ROADWAY, THE FOCUS ACCELERATED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED WITH THE INTENT TO MAKE A NORMAL STOP OF THE VEHICLE. TWO OF THOSE OCCASIONS OCCURRED RECENTLY IN MARCH AND APRIL OF 2017. ON THOSE OCCASIONS, IT WAS NOT POSSIBLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY NORMAL BRAKING. OTHER MEASURES SUCH AS SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION LEVER, APPLYING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE OR PULLING OFF THE ROAD WERE NECESSARY BEFORE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A FAULTY TRANSMISSION MODULE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
THE SPEED CONTROL STUCK FOR A FEW AND THE DOORS ALWAYS LOCKS AND WILL NOT OPEN ITS A SAFE HAZZRAD AND THE CAR BOUNCES ALL THE TIME
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO REMAIN SECURE. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED FOR AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DEALER (TEAM FORD LINCOLN, 905 BRADY AVE, STEUBENVILLE, OH 43952, (740) 283-4131) FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,300.
MY REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK FAILED WHILE DRIVING, CAUSING THE DOOR TO SWING OPEN WHEN BRAKING.
WE WERE TOLD WED THAT OUR PIRELLI TIRES, WARRANTED @ 55K MI, AND HAVE ONLY 18K, ARE DOWN TO 3/32ND TREAD AND MUST BE REPLACED. ALL THIS WITH IN-TOWN DRIVING, REGULAR ROTATION AND INSPECTION. CONTACTED PIRELLI AND ALSO DISCOUNT TIRE TO NO AVAIL. TIRES ARE PIRELLI FOUR SEASONS.
I HAVE CHANGED MANY PARTS ON MY 2010 FORD FOCUS SE 2.0 AND HAS NOT CHANGED ANYTHING. I STARTED OUT WITH NOT IDLING AND AFTER SPENDING A FEW HUNDRED DOLLARS IT HAS NOT CHANGED ANYTHING. VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN YOU COME TO A STOP IT SHUTS OFF. THE PERSON BEHIND YOU THINKS YOUR GOING TO PROCEED AND YOU DON'T DO TO CAR SHUT OFF IT IS A VERY DANGEROUS POSITION YOUR IN. I DID READ THAT THERE ARE MANY OF THESES MYSTERY PROBLEMS WITH THESES VEHICLES AND FORD CANT EVEN FIGURE IT OUT. IF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MANY THAN WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN CORRECTED BY FORD. DOES SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO BE HURT BEFORE IT BECOMES A RECALL? I HAVE ALSO HEARD THAT THIS HAPPENS UNDER WARRANTY AND UP TO 100K. VERRY SORRY!
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING 35-40 MPH, AND ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A RIGHT-HAND TURN ON A COUNTY ROAD. THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER LOCKED, OR THE POWER STEERING FAILED, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO NEGOTIATE THE TURN. SHE RAN OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HIT A LIGHT POLE STRAIGHT ON, CAUSING HER MINOR INJURIES, BUT TOTALING THE CAR.

SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHILE IN MOTION, WRENCH LIGHT COMING ON. MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER HAS ALMOST BEEN INVOLVED IN A COUPLE OF SERIOUS ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS. I UNDERSTAND IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY, BUT WHILE FORD HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON EXPLORERS AND A FEW OTHER MODELS SO OWNERS CAN HAVE NEW PARTS INSTALLED, IT HAS NOT EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO THE FOCUS ' THIS DESPITE THOUSANDS OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS FROM FOCUS OWNERS. THIS REPAIR WILL COST ME ABOUT $700, AND I CANNOT AFFORD IT. I WILL NEVER AGAIN PURCHASE A FORD.

MY 2010 FORD FOCUS THAT I BOUGHT BACK IN DECEMBER OF 2015 IS HAVING A LATCHING PROBLEM WITH THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR. IT WILL NOT LATCH SHUT WHEN PARKED. TRIED GREASING THE LATCH BUT IT DIDN'T HELP. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR.

CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY AT TIMES. WHEN PRESSING GAS PEDAL CAR DOES NOT MOVE ACCORDINGLY. STALLS AT RANDOM TIMES ON HIGHWAY.
I BELIEVE THESE TWO ITEMS ARE RELATED: WITHIN THE LAST YEAR OR MORE THE CAR DID NOT HAVE SMOOTH, CONSTANT ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE SURGES SLIGHTLY OFF AND ON WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE CRUISE IS BEING USED OR NOT. WE TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY HOWEVER THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED PERIODICALLY. ALSO, WITHIN THE LAST MONTH, THE VEHICLE STALLED TWICE ON DIFFERENT DAYS WHILE OPERATING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WITH NO INDICATION THAT IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. AT THE SAME TIME THE "WRENCH" LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WOULD START AFTER PULLING OVER AND CYCLING THE IGNITION. WE AGAIN TOOK IT TO A FORD WHO AGAIN CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY. WERE TOLD THAT THEY WERE PRETTY SURE THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS REPLACEMENT BUT THEY CANNOT REPLACE IT BECAUSE THE "WRENCH" LIGHT DOES NOT STAY ON LONG ENOUGH TO GIVE A CODE. WE WERE TOLD THAT WE CAN REPLACE IT AT OUR OWN COST BUT THEY WON'T REPLACE IT AT THEIR COST WITHOUT A CODE (WHICH DOES NOT REGISTER).

TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING BEFORE 95K MILES PROPERLY MAINTAINED, ALSO TRANSMISSION HAS STARTED TO MAKE A LOUD WIRING NOISE WHERE IT SOUNDS LIKES ITS GEARS ARE WEARING. WAS ADVISED TO DROP TRANSMISSION AND TEAR INTO IT TO SEE WHAT IS BROKEN BUT THERE IS A CONFIRMED PROBLEM. WAS ALSO ADVISED BY DEALER TO SELL BEFORE BREAKS IF NOT WANTING TO PAY TO EXPLORE FOR PROBLEM

NONE OF MY DOORS WILL OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE I HAVE TO LEAVE A WINDOW CRACKED JUST TO GET IN IT HAD TO PAY SOMEBODY 140 JUST TO GET IN IT THERE IS ONLY TWO DOORS THAT WILL OPEN FROM THE INSIDE NOW I HAVE TWO KIDS THAT ARE STILL AT HOME YOU HAVE TO GO IN THE PASSENGER DOOR JUST TO GET IN THE DRIVER SEAT

FORD FOCUS (2010) RECALL - MY MOM IS 80 YEARS OLD AND NEEDS HER CAR TO WORK PROPERLY. SHE HAS A 2010 FORD FOCUS WITH SHUDDERING PROBLEMS AND IDELING PROBLEMS.WHEN SHE EXCELERATES THE CAR IS VERY SLUGGISH AND SLOW TO SPEED UP. WHEN SHE IS IN TRAFFIC THE CAR IDELS DOWN AND ALMOST SHUTS OFF. PLEASE LET ME KNOIW WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT THIS.
CAR FAILS TO START WHEN THE KEY IS INSERTED AND TURNED TO THE PROPER IGNITION STARTING POINT. MY MECHANICS SAYS THE CAR IS NOT FINDING THE SAFETY CHIP INSIDE THE KEY AND WILL NOT ALLOW THE CAR TO START. I AM HAVING TO REPLACE THE IGNITION AND HAVE MY KEY RE-PROGRAMMED. THIS HAS BEEN DEGRADING OVER A PERIOD OF MONTHS. STARTING WITH A FORCEFULNESS OF THE KEY TO MAKE IT START. THE LONGER IT HAS GONE THE WORSE IT HAS GOTTEN. UNTIL IT FINALLY WOULD NOT START AT ALL. THE REPAIR WILL COST ME $ 400.00 PLUS HAVING IT TOWED. IT IS A FAILURE OF THE IGNITION SWITCH TO RECOGNIZE THE KEY'S SAFETY CHIP INSIDE THE KEY. IT HAS CAUSED ME TO SIT AND WAIT FOR THE CAR TO START, SOMETIMES REACHING 30 MINUTES. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY CARS AND HIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING.

THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
AT HIGHWAY SPEED OR ANY SPEED THE LITTLE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH AND THEN THE GAS PEDAL HAS NO EFFECT. YOU HAVE TO COAST TO A STOP ALONG THE ROAD, TURN IT OFF AND RESTART IT. THEN ITS FINE. IF YOU DON'T TURN IT OFF AND RESTART IT WILL STAY IN LIMP MODE DRIVING MAXIMUM 5 MPH. THIS CAR HAS 92K MILES. WRENCH LIGHT DOES NOT STAY ON. TD

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS CLEANED. THE FAILURE RECURRED WITHIN THREE WEEKS AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE DEALER MADE THE MANUFACTURER AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ISSUE WAS NORMAL. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,500.

I HAVE OWNED THE CAR SINCE IT WAS NEW NOW HAS 88K MILES I HAVE PUT LITERALLY 4 SET OF TIRES ON THIS AND HAVE HAD A REAR ALIGNMENT KIT DONE TO IT .THIS CAR SWAYS REALLY BAD AT SPEEDS OF OVER 65 MPH AND WHEN THERE IS HARDLY ANY WIND AT ALL . VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN THE SNOW OR RAIN . THE CAR CAUSED ME TO HAVE A ACCIDENT THAT COST MY INSURANCE COMPANY OVER 2000 TO REPAIR DUE TO THE SWAYING OF SPEEDS OVER 65 MPH . I HAVE A HORRIBLE THUMPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END SUSPENSION AREA WHICH I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE I HAD BAD TIRES SO REPLACED TO BAD THUMPING SO REPLACED WHEELS STILL BAD AND WHEEL BEARINGS AND STILL BAD THUMPING IDK WHAT TO DO THIS IS SO ANNOYING I WANT FORD TO PAY FOR ALL OF THIS AND TO RECALL THESE CARS THEY ARE VERY DANGEROUS
