TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AND AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V523000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT CALLED AUTONATION FORD MOBILE (LOCATED AT 901 EAST INTERSTATE 65 SERVICE RD S, MOBILE, AL 36606, (251) 202-2016) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,000.
WHEN OPERATING THE VEHICLE A SENSOR DISABLES MAKING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO STEER. ONCE I PULL OVER AND SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF FOR A PERIOD OF TIME IT RESETS AND I AM ABLE TO DRIVE. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, ROADS AND DURING DIFFERENT WEATHER. THE VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND AM LUCKY THAT IT HAS NOT HAPPENED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED WHEN YOU FIRST START THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS BUT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO RESET THE SYSTEM BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THE AUNT DOES NOT REMEMBER THE WARNING LIGHT THAT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THE DRIVER TURNED OFF AND ON THE IGNITION AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS FUNCTIONING NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER GENE BUTMAN FORD LOCATED AT 2105 WASHTENAW AVE, YPSILANTI, MI 48197, (734) 482-8581, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING UNKNOWN RACK TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,659. *PM*JB
RADIO RANDOMLY SCREECHES AT A VERY HIGH FREQUENCY. SOUNDS LIKE A GUN SHOT AT FIRST THEN EAR PIERCING SCREECHING. EVEN DOES IT WHEN THE CAR IS OFF. SEEMS TO MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THIS OCCURS AND IT DOES NOT DO IT EVERY DAY. MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THIS NOISE COMES OUT OF NOWHERE. WHEN YOU SHUT THE CAR OFF THE NOISE CONTINUES. EVEN CONTINUES AFTER REMOVING THE KEY AND LOCKING THE DOORS.
WHEN I MAKE A STOP AND TRY TO MOVE THE VEHICLE, I FEEL VIBRATIONS, LOST OF POWER. I DID NOT KNOW THAT FORD RECALLED THE VEHICLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. I JUST CALLED BUT FORD REFUSE TO FIX. THE AGENT TO WHOM I SPOKE, SAID THAT THE MILEAGE IS ABOVE 100 000 MILES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 173 000 MILES BUT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH THIS PROBLEM FOR LONG TIME.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE JERKED, LOST POWER, AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO REVERSE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE AT LOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GLENN BUSH FORD (619 1ST ST, APOLLO, PA 15613, (724) 478-4113) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V523000 (POWER TRAIN) WAS REFERENCED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 54,740.
DURING MY DRIVING, THE ENGINE ACCELERATES BY ITSELF AND LOST POWER, NO GEAR SHIFTING DURING DRIVING, I ONLY CAN DRIVE IT AT A MAX OF 1500 RPM A GO NO HIGHER THAN 35MHP. TRANSMISSION DTC P073A, P074A.
FORD DEALERSHIP STATES "CLUTCH SHUDDER PROBLEM" OCCURRING, BUT THERES A SERVICE CALL ON IT ONLY TO INFORM ME THAT THE WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT AND THE EXTENSION ON THE REPAIRS OF THIS HAVE EXPIRED. I WAS NEVER INFORMED OF THIS REPAIR, HAD MY SERVICES COMPLETED. WHEN INQUIRING TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT SERVICED THE TRANSMISSION FOR $249 LAST MARCH,AS WELL AS FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPT, I WAS INFORMED BY BOTH THAT UNLESS SOMEONE COMES IN WITH THIS COMPLAINT THEY DO NOT REPAIR IT. LUCKY ME IT HAS LASTED 9 MONTHS PAST THE "SERVICE CALL EXTENSION DATE", 9 MONTHS PAST THE "MANUFACTURER WARRANTY". THIS I ALSO BELIEVE IS THE RESULT OF THE GAS VALVE NOT MALFUNCTIONING SINCE PRIOR TO THE RECALL FOR THAT-BACK IN 2015 I REPORTED THIS AND IN 2016 PRIOR TO THE SERVICE CALL FOR THE TCM I HAD IT SERVICED AS WELL! NOW THEY ARE ACTING AS IF THEY DID NOT KNOW THE DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND ARE REFUSING TO REPAIR THEIR FAULTY PARTS! I'M A NURSE FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, I JUST WANT TO GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK IN THE VEHICLE I PAY FOR (7 PAYMENTS REMAINING BY THE WAY)!! MAKE THEM FIX THEIR MISTAKE! THE GAS VALVE STALLING THE CAR PROBABLY RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS NOW HAVING IT HAD STALLED THE CARS BEFORE THEY OWNED THAT PROBLEM!! FOR THE RECORD THERE WERE FAR LESS MILES ON MY CAR WHEN THEY HAD TO REPAIR THE TCM!

The contact stated that while driving from a stationary position, the vehicle shuddered while accelerating and would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the powertrain engagement clutch was faulty. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired for the vehicle. The contact stated that the dry clutch packs were previously replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 54,000.
MY CAR IS A FORD FOCUS 2012 I WAS IN THE HIGHWAY AND I COULDN'T ACCELERATE . I LOST SPEED WHILE I WAS IN THE HIGHWAY .MY CAR WAS FINE ALL WEEK I RAN WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM NO LIGHT APPEAR AT THE DASHBOARD .WHEN I COULDN'T ACCELARATE IN THE HIGHWAY A MESSAGE APPEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME TRANSMISSION MALFUCTION.
WHILE IN MOTION ON THE INTERSTATE MY CONSUL GAVE ME A NOTIFICATION THAT THERE WAS A "FAILURE IN STEERING ASSIST" AND TO PULL OVER SAFELY. AT WITCH TIME I LOST MY POWER STEERING ASSIST. I PULLED OFF AT THE NEXT EXIT WHICH THANKFULLY LED TO BAXTER FORD SOUTH WHERE THEY RAN A SERVICE CHECK THE NEXT DAY. AFTER RUNNING THE CHECK THEY DETERMINED THERE WAS A FAILURE IN THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE (PSCM). THE PSCM WAS RE PROGRAMED TO THE LAST KNOWN CODE. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW LONG THE FIX WOULD LAST. ON THE SAME DAY AFTER DRIVING 600 MILES I RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGE AND ONCE AGAIN LOST POWER STEERING ASSIST. NOTE THAT THE SAME FAILURE HAS OCCURRED IN THE 2011- 2012 FORD FUSION, FORD FLEX, AND FORD TAURUS. ALL HAVE BEEN RECALLED EXCEPT FOR THE 2012 FORD FOCUS MODEL. I WILL ATTACH AND HIGHLIGHT MY INVOICE FROM BAXTER FORD SOUTH.
VEHICLE CAME OUT OF GEAR IN A STOP LIGHT INTERSECTION WHILE TURNING LEFT. AN ACCIDENT WAS NARROWLY AVOIDED. THE TCM HAD BEEN REPLACED TWO DAYS PRIOR. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT REPLACED THE TCM, THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR FIVE DAYS, STATED THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE FAILURE, AND REFUSED TO TAKE FURTHER ACTION. I FEEL THE CAR IS UNSAFE AND FORD IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. HISTORICALLY, WE HAVE HAD FIVE CLUTCH PACKS REPLACED AND AT LEAST THREE TCM'S. FURTHERMORE, THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR TRANSMISSION REPAIR MORE THAN 60 DAYS IN THE PAST FIVE YEARS.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST. INTERMITTENT. HAPPENS ON START UP A WARNING OF A STEERING PROBLEM WITH NO POWER STEERING. LOST POWER STEERING ONCE WHEN DRIVING.
STARTING CAR AND ENGAGED ENGINE& TRANS STARTED TO MOVE WHEN I FOUND THAT NO POWER STEERING. FOUND OUT THAT IF YOU STOP AND RESTART CAR IT MIGHT RESET IT DID. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE MORE TIMES. ALL HAD AMBER MESSAGE ALL HAPPENED WHILE STATIONARY.
WHILE IN COLUMBUS, OHIO, CAUGHT IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, UPHILL, A RED "TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION!" LIGHT WENT ON, AND THE CAR IMMEDIATELY STARTED SHUDDERING AND LURCHING FORWARD. I WAS ONLY GOING 5 - 10 MPH IN TRAFFIC, BUT THE CAR WAS ALSO SHAKING AND WHEN I CAME TO A FULL STOP THE RPMS WOULD GO UP AND DOWN
POWER ASSIST STEERING ERROR HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE STATIONARY AND MOVING. ERROR CODE FLASHES AND SOMETIMES CLEARS AFTER RESTARTING ENGINE OR DISCONNECTING BATTERY FOR A PERIOD OF TIME. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH MANY FORD VEHICLES OF THE SAME BUILD PERIOD UTILIZING THE SAME EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY. WHY THIS ISSUE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THOSE RECALLS IS NOT UNDERSTANDABLE. JUST LIKE THE DUAL CLUTCH ISSUE, WHICH I PAID FORD $2,300 TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION, I AM TOLD THAT THERE'S NO WARRANTY OR RECALL. THIS MEANS ANOTHER $2,000+ TO REPAIR A KNOWN DEFECT. 2 ISSUES ALONE HAS CAUSED REPAIR BILLS THE EQUATE TO 25% OF THE PURCHASE PRICE. NICE TO SEE FORD HAS OTHER OPTIONS TO ADD TO THE PRICE TAG AT THE OWNERS EXPENSE AND SAFETY. HOPEFULLY NO FATALITIES WILL OCCUR BEFORE FORD AND NHTSA ACKNOWLEDGES THIS ISSUE IS IN LINE WITH OTHER RECALLS FOR SIMILAR EQUIPMENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO (PARRISH FORD DEALER, (2900 RIVER RD W, GOOCHLAND, VA 23063, (804) 556-4444) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE REPRESENTED A FAILURE WITH THE CLUTCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A SOFTWARE UPDATED UNDER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 15B22-19N07 WAS COMPLETED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS NOT REPLACED AFTER CONTINUE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AS AUTHORIZED BY FORD DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO FOR MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER. DRIVING TO A FRIEND'S HOUSE, SHE STOPPED FOR GAS. SHE STARTED THE CAR AND THE NOTIFICATION" STEERING ASSIST FAILURE - SERVICE REQUIRED" CAME ON. SHE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND STARTED IT AGAIN. THE STEERING WORKED FINE.. WHILE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THANKFULLY, SHE WAS ON A SIDE STREET AND WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE CAR OFF.. SHE TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND MADE IT TO A FRIEND'S HOME NEAR BY. SINCE LAST NIGHT, THE POWER STEERING IS COMPLETELY OUT. I'VE JUST FOUND THIS SITE WHICH I WAS DIRECTED TO FROM A CONSUMER SITE STATING A LONG HISTORY OF THIS PROBLEM WITH THE POWER STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE. WE ARE NOW WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK TO TAKE THE CAR TO A NEARBY DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THE ISSUE. I'VE ALREADY MENTIONED TO THEM I'VE FOUND THIS SITE AND THERE IS A LONG LIST OF DOCUMENTED ISSUES. ( THEY SEEM TO BE SURPRISED ABOUT IT ( GO FIGURE )) ....

HIGH RPMS DIED IN FLIGHT STALLING JERKING
STEERING HAS BECOME STIFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP WHERE TECHNICIANS CONFIRMED ELECTRONIC POWER ASSISTED STEERING (EPAS) CORROSION WAS THE ROOT OF THE STIFFNESS. HOWEVER, FORD CUSTOMER CARE STATED THIS REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED BECAUSE THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AND THAT THERE ARE NO CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAMS COVERING MY VIN.
I DIDN'T GET TO FINISH MY 1ST COMPLAINT..ABOUT MY 2012 FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. IVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION FIXED TWICE ALREADY UNDER THE WARRANY AND NOW ITS DOING IT AGAIN AND MY WARRANTY RAN OUT 5 MOS. AGO SO FORD WONT FIX IT AGAIN? I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS ISN'T A RECALL? CAR SHUTTERS AND STALLS. NOT MUCH POWER. HAD TCM REPAIRED AND THE DUAL CLUTCH MULTIPLE TIMES.
THIS WAS A RECALL ALREADY THAT IS HAZARDOUS TO ALL DRIVERS ON THE ROAD INCLUDONG THE DRIVER. THE CAR WILL STALL,STUDDER,AND GIVE NO POWER WHEN PULLING OFF. I CANT UNDERSTAND HOW SOMETHING SO DANGEROUS THAT ALSO COST ME MY LIFE WOULD HAVE A LIMITED WARRANTY ON A SAFTEY RECALL. THIS SHOULD BE A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THIS. BECAUSE THEY CAIM TO FIX THE ISSUE BUT IF IT CONTINUES TO BREAK DOWN AFTER 2 MONTHS 3 MONTHS. WHY IS THEIR A LIMITED TIME FRAME ON SAFETY RECALL AND THE SAFTEY OF DRIVERS AND THE OWNER.THIS HAS CAUSED ACCIDENT TO OTHERS. BECAUSE WHEN A RECALL IS DONE. YOU BELIEVE THE ISSUE IS FIXED. IT SHOULD CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THEN THE LIMITED WARRANTY IS UP. NOW YOU'RE STUCK WITH A SAFETY HAZARDOUS CAR THAT IS DANGEROUS TO PUT ON THE ROAD. PLEASE HELP. DRIVERS SAFETY SHOULDNT HAVE A LIMIT THIS OTHER INCIDENT OCCURRED DUE TO THEIR WARRANTY NOT HOLDING UP WITH KEEPING THE ROADS SAFE. 2012 FOCUS S A MAJORITY OF THE TIME FROM A STOP VEHICLE STARTS JERKING AND I DON'T OWN A STICK SHIFT. THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM TOTALLY FAILED - I STARTED MY CAR AND RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASH AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE FORD DEALER AND SPENT $2,096.20 TO HAVE THE POWER STEERING RACK REPLACED AND THE NEW ONE PROGRAMMED.
I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY 2012 FORD FOCUS. TRANSMISSION. IT IS STILL WAY UNDER MILEAGE ONLY 50,000 ON MY CAR. JUST RECENTLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AND IT HAS TO DO TO DEFAULTS IN THE CLUTH. THE FAMILY HAS TAKEN ALL THREE OF OUR FORD VEHICLES TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE SINCE WE PURCHASED THEM AND THEY HAVE NOT TAKEN RECALL ACTION. THE FOCUS NOT ONLY HAS THIS RECALL BUT THE SHUDDER RECALL, THAT THE DEALER ADVISED THAT IT WOULD COST US $1,500 BECAUSE THE RECALL REQUIRES CLUTCH REPLACEMENT. WE RECEIVED NOTICES FOR THE TCM, SHUDDER/SHAFT SEALS, AND CPV WITH NO ACTIONS TAKEN. THE FAMILY'S RECORD IS THAT OUR MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE HAS BEEN CONSISTENT VISITS WITH THE DEALER'S ASSIGNED RETURN DATES AND NOTHING LESS. THE FAMILY SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR A RECALL FOR THAT KIND OF MONEY. THAT AMOUNT SHOULD BE DOUBLED AND SUBMITTED TO US AS A DOWN PAYMENT ON A NEW FORD VEHICLE. WE ARE NOT LIKING WHAT SEXTON FORD TOLD US THOUGH WE HAVE BEEN NOWHERE ELSE FOR MAINTENANCE EXCEPT THEM SINCE DAY ONE! The contact stated that it felt like the vehicle was unable to shift gears. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated an issue with the transmission and recall with the fuel tank. The contact stated that the PCM was updated to the latest calibration. The vehicle was serviced for NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) and NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V643000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages). The failure recurred a year later after the recall service. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who stated that the clutch needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and no assistance was offered as the extended warranty had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.

THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I STARTED MY CAR IN THE MORNING AND AN INFORMATION BOX POPPED UP IN THE DASH AND STATED THAT THERE WAS A POWER STEERING FAULT. AS I BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVE WAY THOUGH THE WARNING DISAPPEARED, AND THE POWER STEERING RE-ENGAGED. THE OTHER THREE TIMES IT WENT OUT WERE ALL IN THE MORNING AS WELL, BUT THE POWER STEERING DID NOT COME BACK ON AS I WAS BACKING OUT. I HAD TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTART IT IN ORDER FOR THE POWER STEERING TO COME BACK ON. SO FAR IN OCTOBER 2019, THE INCIDENT HAS REPEATED 3 TIMES. THE FIRST TIME WAS IN THE MORNING, AND THE INCIDENT WAS RESOLVED BY RE-STARTING THE CAR. THE SECOND TIME WAS A NEARLY IDENTICAL INCIDENT, BUT THIS TIME HAPPENED IN THE AFTERNOON AS I WAS PREPARING TO LEAVE WORK. THE THIRD INCIDENT HAPPENED AT 8:35 A.M. ON MONDAY OCTOBER 28. THIS TIME, EVEN RE-STARTING THE CAR WOULD NOT GET THE POWER STEERING TO RE-ENGAGE. I DROVE THE CAR TO WORK WITHOUT POWER STEERING, AND UPON STARTING THE CAR TO RETURN HOME, THE INCIDENT PERSISTED. AT THIS TIME (8:59 P.M. ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 28). THE POWER STEERING HAS NOT RE-ENGAGED.
TRANSMISSION HAVING TROUBLE CATCHING ALL GEARS WHILE DRIVING
YESTERDAY I TURNED MY CAR ON AND WAS ALERTED TO A 'STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTION.' WHEN THIS WARNING HAS COME ON BEFORE, I'VE TURNED THE CAR OFF/ON AGAIN AND THE WHEEL EVENTUALLY UNLOCKS. BUT YESTERDAY THE WHEEL STAYED LOCKED AND I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO FORD DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP (VISALIA, CA FORD) SAYS THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY FOR CLOSE TO $2800. THEY WEREN'T AWARE OF ANY RECALL FOR THE ISSUE. I'VE NEVER HAD THE WARNING COME ON WHILE DRIVING ON SURFACE STREETS OR HIGHWAYS, BUT I BELIEVE IT HAS COME ON AS I'VE STARTED MY VEHICLE AND PUT IT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. MY FOCUS HAS APPROXIMATELY 130,000 MILES ON IT.
POWER STEERING FAILED 10.26.2019. WIFE HAD MENTIONED TO SERVICE ADVISOR THAT SHE HAD A WARNING MSG ABOUT A YEAR AGO DURING A NORMAL SERVICING OF HER VEHICLE AND ASKED FOR SOMEONE TO DO A CHECK ON IT. THE RESULT WAS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE EPAS AND THERE WAS NO WRITTEN INSTRUCTION ON HER SERVICE INVOICE WHICH IS ODD, BECAUSE SHE SPECIFICALLY ASK THAT THE EPAS BE CHECK WHILE THEY WERE DOING HER OIL CHANGE. OVER THE LAST YEAR THE WARNING MSG CAME BACK USUALLY DURING EXTREME CHANGES OF WEATHER. MY WIFE CALLED THE DEALER WHERE SHE HAS SERVICE WORK DONE TO REPORT ADDITIONAL WARNING MSGS. THE SERVICE REP ASKED MY WIFE TO DESCRIBE WHAT THE MSG WAS AND WHEN IT OCCURRED. THE SERVICE REP ACTED AS IF HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BUT SAID HE WOULD NOTE IT. THIS FAILURE ON 10.26.2019 OCCURRED WHEN I JUST LEFT HOME. I WAS ABLE TO RETURN HOME AND PARK IN THE DRIVEWAY. I CANNOT IMAGINE MY WIFE TRYING TO DRIVE WITH THIS PROBLEM THAT HAPPENS WITH NO WARNING. I'VE GREW UP DRIVING CARS W/O POWER STEERING, BUT THIS EPAS FAILURE IS BEYOND ANYTHING SHE COULD HANDLE. I AM THANKFUL I WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME. I MANAGED TO QUICKLY GET IN BACK ON TO THE DRIVEWAY AND NARROWLY MISSED GETTING HIT BY A CAR COMING THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. ONCE I GOT THE CAR BACK ON PARK I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF THINKING IT WOULD RESET ANY PROBLEM, BUT WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON THE "STEERING ASSIST FAULT " NOTIFICATION CAME BACK ON. I PROCEEDED TO CONTINUE TURNING THE CAR OFF, AND BACK ON, AS WELL AS PLACING IT NEUTRAL, DRIVE, AND REVERSING IT AGAIN BUT THE STEERING WHEEL STAYED LOCKED. AFTER BEING UNABLE TO FIND A SOLUTION I SEARCHED ONLINE TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM, AND FOUND MANY TESTIMONIALS DATING BACK YEARS! OF PEOPLE HAVING THEIR LIVES PUT AT RISK DUE TO THIS PROBLEM.I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO FIND MYSELF IN A SAFE LOCATION WHEN THIS HAPPENED, BUT NOW I FIND MYSELF WITH A TOWING BILL OF 85 DOLLARS, AS WELL AS A BILL OF 2,000 DOLLARS (THAT I DO NOT HAVE) TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AND WITHOUT TRANSPORTATION. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM THAT PUTS LIVES IN DANGER, AS WELL AS ECONOMICALLY DEBILITATING. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE DOING SOMETHING TO FIX IT!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.
TRANSMISSION FELT STUCK. DIDN'T WANT TO SHIFT GEARS. WHEN IT DID SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR, THE CAR JUMPED. AT THE STOP LIGHT, TRIED TAKING OFF AND VEHICLE STALLED, THEN FINALLY SLIPPED INTO GEAR. THE CAR JUMPED AS IT SHIFTED INTO GEARS, BUT ONCE RIDING IT WAS OK, UNTIL I SLOWED DOWN. THE CAR WOULD JUMP AS THE GEARS SHIFTED DOWN. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE

I WAS DRIVING ON A TENNESSEE STATE HIGHWAY, GOING ABOUT 66 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY WENT OUT. IT WAS VERY VERY HARD TO GET THE CAR OVER TO A SHOULDER AND AVOID A WRECK. IT HAS SINCE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER AND NEEDED A TOW. THERE WAS NO INDICATION ANYTHING WAS WRONG, AND JUST SUDDENLY WENT OUT AND HAS NOT BEEN RIGHT SINCE.
AFTER GOING TO MY FORD DEALER FOR THE LAST 2 RECALLS THAT EFFECT FUEL SYSTEM (LAST ONE WAS RECALL #19S22) MY CAR WAS OK FOR A FEW MONTHS. NOW THAT TEMPS HAVE DROPPED BELOW 50 THE SAME THING IS HAPPENING. WHEN ACCELERATING, THE CAR SHAKES AND SPUTTERS AS IT TRIES TO GO AND I GET ABOUT 18MPG INSTEAD OF MY USUAL 27MPG.
