IT HAS ONLY BEEN A MONTH SINCE I BOUGHT MY FORD FOCUS. AND MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ITSELF 6 TIMES ALREADY. I AM TERRIFIED OF DRIVING IT ANYWHERE. I READ STORIES ABOUT PEOPLE GETTING INTO ACCIDENTS WHEN THEIR STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ITSELF. IT ONLY HAPPENS TO ME WHEN I AM IN THE PARKING LOT, BUT I AM SCARED OF WHAT WOULD I DO IF THE WHEEL LOCKS ITSELF WHEN I AM DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE STEERING LOST POWER AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HILLER FORD (414-425-1000, LOCATED AT 6455 S 108TH ST, FRANKLIN, WI 53132) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO DIAGNOSED THAT A FRONT END ALIGNMENT WAS NEEDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PEPBOY'S AUTO CARE CENTER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF DTC CODE: P090C- CLUTCH ACTUATOR CIRCUIT LOW. THE CODE WAS CLEARED. AN APPOINTMENT WAS SCHEDULED WITH FRIENDLY FORD, 660 N DECATUR BLVD, LAS VEGAS, NV 89107, (866) 724-9143, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE OR TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. FORD COUNTRY, 280 N GIBSON RD, HENDERSON, NV 89014, (888) 360-8509, WAS ALSO CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE RECEIVED RECALL NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE VIN TOOL SHOWED NO RECALL SUBJECTED TO THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 83,717.
I'M WRITING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW FORD HANDLED THE SAFETY RECALL 18S32 / NHTSA RECALL 18V-735 . WHEN I GOT THE LETTER IN THE MAIL THAT MY CAR WAS RECALLED FOR THIS PART THAT COULD CAUSE THE GAS TANK TO COLLAPSE I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE VALVE , WHICH TO ME IS JUST PUTTING A BAND AID ON THE PROBLEM AND NOT REPAIRING IT. 11 MONTHS LATER THE PART FAILED AND WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPLACED THEY CHARGED ME FOR THE REPAIR. AFTER TALKING WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THIS IS THEIR POLICY. MY OPINION IS THAT THE PART SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED ON THE FIRST VISIT. THIS WILL CAUSE SAFETY ISSUES IF LEFT WITH THE FAULTY PART ON THE CAR. CAN YOU CHECK INTO WHY FORD HAS SUCH A POLICY IN PLACE ? THANKS, SCOTT
WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE MY PARKING SPOT, I HAD ZERO POWER STEERING AND A WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH. NO WARNING, IT WAS FINE WHEN I PARKED IT 4 HOURS EARLIER. NOW, THE DEALER SAYS I NEED AN ENTIRE NEW RACK AND PINION TOTALING $1,560 WITH LABOR. WHY IS THIS NOT A RECALL WITH ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS? COULD THIS ALSO CAUSE THE TERRIBLE VIBRATION IN THIS CAR I'VE FELT SINCE WE BOUGHT IN APRIL? I'VE HAD IT BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND IT WHEN THEY TEST DRIVE.
ONE DAY I WENT TO START MY CAR UP, AND TRIED TO TURN MY WHEEL AND IT WOULDN'T TURN. SOMEBODY WAS ABLE TO LOOSEN IT UP FOR ME THAT TIME. TWO DAYS AFTER THAT I ATTEMPTED THE SAME THING AND IT WOULDN'T NOT LOOSEN UP AT ALL. THE WHEEL IS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. I'VE DONE A LITTLE RESEARCH AND SEEN THAT THEY HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WITH A NUMBER OF THESE MODELS.
WE TOOK THE CAR IN TO GET FIXED BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. WHEN I TURN ON THE CAR AND START DRIVING THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT LOSES ITS SPEED AND IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS BEING PULLED BACK EVERY TIME ITS DRIVEN FORWARD. THE CAR FEELS AS IF ITS BEING FORCED TO DRIVE AND IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN. WE TOOK IT IN TO STAR FORD LINCOLN GLENDALE ON 1101 S BRAND BLVD GLENDALE, CA 91204, PHONE NUMBER (818)502-1901 WHERE THEY TOLD US THEY FIXED THE CAR BUT THE CAR REMAINED WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH NO EVIDENCE OF FIXED DIFFERENCE. WHEN WE PICKED UP THE CAR AFTER DROPPING IT OF AT STAR FORD LINCOLN WE HAD TO JUMP START THE CAR BECAUSE IT NO LONGER TURNED EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WOULD TURN ON BEFORE WE DROPPED IT OFF. THE CAR ALSO STARTED LEAKING WATER FROM THE RADIATOR EVEN THOUGH THAT WAS NOT ONE OF THE REASONS WE LEFT THE CAR THERE. AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR FRO THERE IT HAS BEEN REMAINED PARK BECAUSE WE CAN NOT MOVE IT.
NHTSA SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 18S32/NHTSA RECALL 18V-735 I TRIED TO TAKE MY CAR INTO THE LOCAL POCATELLO,IDAHO 83201 DEALER COURTESY FORD TO GET THESE DEFECTIVE PARTS REPLACED. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 5HRS, JUST STARTED TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND REFUSED TO REPLACE THE PARTS. I HAD APPROX. 1YR AGO A STALL PROBLEM WHEN I WAS DRIVING THIS CAR FROM POCATELLO TO BURLEY APPROX. 120MI. THE CAR FUNCTIONED FINE ON THE WAY TO BURLEY BUT STALLED OUT WHEN DRIVING BACK THE 120MI FROM BURLEY TO POCATELLO. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE LOCAL FOR DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I HAD TO BRING MY CAR IN FOR AN INSPECTION TO DETERMINE IF I HAD A PROBLEM COVERED BY THE RECALL. AFTER 5HRS OF WAITING AND SEVERAL CALLS TO THE DEALERSHIP, I WENT AND PICKED UP MY CAR. THEY SAID THEY WERE IN THE PROCESS OF REPROGRAMMING MY CAR. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS. THE RECALL SAYS THE DEFECTIVE PARTS SHOULD BE REPLACED AND THE SYSTEM UPDATED. I BELIEVE THIS DEALERSHIP IS TRYING TO CHEAT ME. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO MY CAR. THEY REFUSED TO FIX THIS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
WHILE DRIVING CAR AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH WHILE IN A CURVE THE STEERING ASSIST QUIT WORKING. IT WAS VERY HARD TO STEER.
19S22 RECALL. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM PORT HURON TO CLINTON TOWNSHIP. MY CAR WENT FROM 70 MPH HOUR ON THE FREEWAY TO 35 MPH. ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING. I CANNOT ACCELERATE MORE THAN 35 MPH. THE VERY NEXT MORNING I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AT 9 MILE IN HARPER BECAUSE THE SAME PROBLEM HAD OCCURRED MONTHS BEFORE IN MAY. I TOLD HER THAT SAME THING HAPPENED BEFORE MY CAR IS NOT ACCELERATING MY RPM SHOT UP AND I CANNOT GO ANYWHERE SO SHE ASKED ME TO BRING IT IN I DID I ASKED HER ABOUT THE OUTSTANDING RECALL ON THE CAR SHE TOLD ME THAT HER GUYS FORGOT TO LOOK AT IT. FORD HAD MY CAR FOR A WEEK I LOST MY JOB AND I ALSO DO LIFT ON THE SIDE SO I'M OUT $1200 JUST IN THE WEEK. THEY CALLED ME, AND SAID ITLL COST AROUND $2K FOR THE CLUTCH SYSTEM. THAT'S FUNNY BECAUSE I DON'T USE THE MANUAL SIDE OF THE CAR BUT APPARENTLY IT'S BUILT INTO THE TRANSMISSION. SO AGAIN I ASKED ABOUT THE RECALL. IT CLEARLY STATES ON YOUR WEBSITE THAT IF FORD HAS TO DO THE RECALL AND THERE'S ANY OTHER REPAIRS THAT NEED TO BE DONE WITH FOR THE CAUSE OF ALL OF THIS THAT THE PARTS AND LABOR ARE FREE. THEY CHARGED MY DAD'S CREDIT CARD $1938.78. I ASKED HER AGAIN BUT THERE WAS A RECALL DOWN ON THE CAR SHE SAID OH WELL WE DID THE RECALL AND THAT WAS FOR THE PURGE VALVE I SAID OK WELL WHERE IS THAT LOCATED SHE TOLD ME WAS IN THE ENGINE SO YOU DIDN'T DO THE RECALL 1ST YOU JUST WENT STRAIGHT FOR THE CLUTCH? THEN YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT WELL HOW DO WE KNOW NOW AFTER HE TOOK THE 2000 AND EVEN ADMITTED THAT YOU DIDN'T DO THE RECALL 1ST GEAR WENT STRAIGHT TO THE CLUTCH SYSTEM SO IF YOU WOULDN'T DID THE RECALL 1ST I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN OUT $2000 IF YOU JUST DID YOUR JOB. THEN I PICK UP THE CAR. AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN, AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SO AGAIN I HAD TO DROP IT OFF.

TAKARA RECALL THERE IS A "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MESSAGE THAT COMES RANDOMLY. THE STEERING IS REALLY TOUGH TO MOVE WHILE DRIVING, WENT TO SEE IF THEY HAD ANY SAFETY RECALLS ON IT BUT THERE ISN'T. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES RANDOMLY WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND IS NOT VERY SAFE.

AFTER RECEIVING THE RECALLS SERVICED BY MIKE WHITE FORD IN CDA IDAHO.MY VEHICLE IS NO.LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE.THE 2012 FORD FOCUS THAT WAS PERFECT NOW STALLS LACKS POWER .THE SAFETY FEATURES NO LONGER WORK.THE CAR NOW HAS STEERING ISSUES .SINCE THE RECALL WORK WAS DONE THE CAR HAS SAT IN THE DRIVEWAY .IT IS UNSAFE FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS. NATIONAL TRAFFIC AND MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY ACT AND THE LETTER OF RECALL CONCERNING MY 2012 FORD FOCUS THAT HAS UNDER 60 THOUSAND MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
WHEN YOU DEPRESS THE ACCELERATOR PEDDLE THE RPMS MAX OUT .IT WILL STUDDER FOR A FEW SECOND THEN THE RPMS WILL PLUMMET TO ZERO OR ONE.THE ENGINE STALLS WHILE IN MOTION.WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE ON A STRAIGHT FLAT ROAD.THE RPMS ARE ALL OVER THE ENGINE LOOSES POWER SURGES AND CUTS OUT.WHEN DRIVING UP HILL OR AN INCLINE THE ENGINE WILL LOOSE UP TO HALF ITS POWER AND THE CAR WILL DERASTICALLY LOOSE ACCELERATOR POWER.THE STEERING IS IRRATIC .IT SHAKES AND CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO LURCH .IT IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE ON PUBLIC ROADWAYS.SINCE RECALL SERVICE I'VE HAD TO RETURN THE CAR TO THE RECALL SERVICE PROVIDER.THE CAR NOW HAS SO MANY PROBLEMS IT SITS IN MY DRIVEWAY.SINCE OCTOBER I'VE PAID FULL COVERAGE INSURANCE FOR A CAR THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND SUB SITIARY COMPANIES OF THAT COMPANY REFUSE TO HONOR THEIR RE-CALLS AND SERVICES STEMMING FROM THOSE RECALLS.*DT*JB
THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO TO THE FLOOR. BASED ON MY RESEARCH FORD HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ABS BRAKE PUMP WHICH CAUSES THE BRAKES TO GO SOFT. THE PEDAL HAS A LONG TRAVEL IS VERY SLUGGISH TO RESPOND. IN MY OPINION THIS IS A EXTREME SAFETY ISSUE. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD BE MADE TO RECALL AND FIX THE PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND NOTICED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR LOCK FAILED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME USING A CARGO STRAP TO KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED. THE CONTACT CALLED KRAUSE FAMILY FORD OF WOODSTOCK (195 WOODSTOCK PKWY, WOODSTOCK, GA 30188, (877) 808-3640) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V643000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
POWER STEERING FAILED AS WE WERE PULLING INTO A SHOPPING CENTER AND HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE MECHANIC. IT STARTED BY MAKING A GRINDING NOISE AND THEN THE STEERING GOT VERY HARD TO TURN SO WE HAD IT TOWED. WE ARE AWARE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A BIG PROBLEM ON THE FORD FOCUS BUT NEITHER NHTSA OR FORD HAS PLACED RECALL ON THIS ISSUE MEANWHILE FOCUS DRIVERS HAVE BEEN SPENDING AN AVERAGE OF $1500. TO $2000. TO REPAIR THE POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION. SHAME ON YOU BOTH
I PURCHASED A 2012 FORD FOCUS 11/2017 SINCE THEN HAVE HAD POWER TRAIN /TRANSMISSION REPLACED 2 TIMES LAREST IN SEPT. 2019. I AM AGAIN EXPERIENCING THE SAME TYPES OF SYMTOMS LEADING TO SAME. CALLED SERVICE WHERE WORK WAS DONE IN SEPT. AND TOLD WAIT ALITTLE LONGER FOR SYMTOMS TO SHOW ON THE METER. BUT YOU CAN BRING IN YOU CHOSE. I AM SCARED TO WAIT AND LAST EXPERIENCE LEFT ME IN AN INTERSECTION VEHICLE WOULDNT START AND UNABLE TO GET AN OK TO TOW. USED SOMEONE ELSE AAA TO TOW IN. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT (CEL) CAME ON A FEW YEARS AGO AND THE CAR COULD NOT RESTART. COULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT. RECENTLY, IN THE SUMMER 2019, CEL ON AND GAVE A CODE ABOUT FAULTY CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHEN I SPENT $106 AT GREEN FORD TO READ AND DIAGNOSIS THE CODE. THE LIGHT WENT ON AND OFF AND ON SEPTEMBER 8, 2019, THE CAR STALLED AND/OR WOULD NOT START BACK UP MANY TIMES WHEN THE CEL WAS ON. THE CAR WOULD NOT CRANK THE NEXT MORNING, TWICE, ON THE WAY TO GREEN FORD, AND WAITING ON RECALL TO BE PERFORMED. THE CAR HAS 151,000 MILES AND IS A ONE OWNER VEHICLE. THE POWERTRAIN, PCM AND THIS CURRENT ISSUE HAS BEEN THE ONLY ISSUES THAT SEEMS TO BE CONNECTED.

I RECENTLY SUBMITTED A COMPLAINT AND RECEIVED A PURGE VALVE RECALL FROM FORD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN IN ON SEPT 6 AND REPAIRED. ON SEPT 11TH I WENT TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT HESITATED TO START. I TRIED AGAIN IT STARTED AND A NOTIFICATION CAME ON STATING TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW. I HAD MY TRANSMISSION FIXED IN OCTOBER 2018 AND STILL HAVE HAD CONSTANT ISSUES. THE CAR STILL STALLS AND GOES IN AND OUT OF GEARS. THE CAR HESITATES WHEN TURNING OR PRESSING ON GAS TO ACCELERATE. AFTER A RECENT OIL CHANGE THE EMPLOYEE TRIED TO CHANGE MY HEADLIGHT AS IT WENT OUT AND 4 BULBS LATER HE DETERMINED THE WIRING ON THE VEHICLE IS HORRIBLE.ON NOV 2ND MY CAR HESITATES TO START AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RETURNS STATING TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION. I BROUGHT THE CAR INTO A SHOP AND THEY THOUGHT TO CHANGE THE BATTERY AND PULLED A CODE SHOWING CLUTCH POSITION SENSOR IN TRANSMISSION. THE PASSENGER REAR SEAT BELT ALSO HAS A MALFUNCTION. IM STILL PAYING ON THIS VEHICLE AND STILL HAVE 11000 TO GO. EVERY YEAR THERE IS A CONSTANT ISSUE. IM NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND WHEN I WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE CAR DIDN'T NEED WORK AND WOULDN'T REPAIR IT. MY BIGGEST FEAR IS DRIVING WITH MY CHILDREN AND THE CAR STALLS WHILE TURNING AND SOMEONE GETTING HURT. THE FAULT CODE FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STATES IT'S A CATALYTIC CONVERTER PROBLEM. I DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND FOUND A RECALL FOR WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUE (RECALL 18S32). TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE RECALL REPAIRED AND THEY RESET THE PCM BUT TECH TOLD ME THE GAS TANK "PASSED INSPECTION" SO NO FURTHER REPAIRS WERE NEEDED. HOWEVER, THE CAR STILL SHUDDERS AT ACCELERATION. I WAS TOLD I'D HAVE TO PAY $135 FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I AM SO AFRAID FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO IS A FAIRLY NEW DRIVER TO BE DRIVING THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE. I WILL BE SEARCHING FOR A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AS I'VE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE ON THIS WEBSITE. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE SELLING THIS CAR TO ANYONE ELSE WITH THESE PROBLEMS EITHER.
