MY LAST REPORT WAS ON THE AFFECTS OF THE TCM FAILURE AND THE COMPUTER FAILURES OF THE ENGINE, WIPERS AND NOT BEING ABLE TO START THE CAR. AS I CONTINUED TO OBSERVE THE CONTINUED ISSUES OF THE FORD FOCUS, I NOW HAVE A PROBLEMS WITH THE DOORS. THE DOORS ARE NOT UNLOCKING. SOME WILL UNLOCK AND SOME WILL REMAIN LOCK. AT THIS POINT WITH THE MILEAGE AT 73400 THE PROBLEMS WITH THE FORD FOCUS IS NOT GOING AWAY. I STILL OWE MONEY ON THE VEHICLE AND I CAN'T DRIVE IT ANY MORE BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY ISSUES IT HAS. 1. TCM 2. SHUTTING DOWN WITHOUT NOTICE 3. JERKING BACK WHEN INITIATING PARK 4. WIPERS GOING ON WITHOUT NOTICE 5. ENGINE SHUTTING DOWN WHEN IN DRIVE
MY CAR FAILS TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT SHUDDERING EVEN AFTER THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED AND COMPUTER REPROGRAMMED. IT FIRST STARTED HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES WHEN IT HAD ONLY AROUND 60,000 MILES ON IT AND WAS AROUND FIVE YEARS OLD. EVEN AFTER BEING FIXED, MY CARS TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON AND IT COASTED TO A STOP AT THE SIDE OF A BUSY ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT AT JARRINGLY LOUD LOW GEAR HOME. BECAUSE I WAS TOLD IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY THE SECOND TIME, I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO RESET THE COMPUTER AND TOLD ME HE SUSPECTED THE TRANSMISSION ITSELF IS BAD. IT DRIVE OK, BUT WITH ASTONISHINGLY LOW POWER AND DANGEROUS FREEWAY MERGES FOR ANOTHER TWO YEARS. NOW THE SHUDDERING IS BAD AGAIN AND THE TRANSMISSION GROANING IN BETWEEN LOW GEAR CHANGES. ADDITIONALLY THE CPV ON THIS CAR WAS BAD ONCE, AND IT WARPED THE GAS PAN. THE DEALERSHIP RESET THE COMPUTER CODES CONTROLLING THE VALVE BUT NOW THE ENGINE CODE FOR THAT PROBLEM IS ON AGAIN TOO. THIS CAR FEELS UNSAFE, BUT I HAVE LITTLE ALTERNATIVES. I HAVE NOW WAY TO GET TO WORK WITHOUT IT.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE A 2012 FORD FOCUS, THAT IS KNOCKING LOUD, I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPEN, THE DELEARSHIP DID TRANSMISSION WORK ON IT EARLIER 2016, ONE MORNING, WHEN I GOT INTO THE CAR, THE OIL LIGHT CAME ON AND IT KNOCKING, SO MY HUSBAND CHECK TO SEE IF, THERE IS OIL IN THERE AND IT WAS, SO I WAS GOING TO TAKE TO HAVE A OIL CHANGE, BUT HE SAID, WE NEED TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON FIRST. I WILL TAKE TO DELARSHIP THIS WEEK TO SEE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. BUT WOULD LIKE FORD TO TAKE CARE OF REPAIR. MY FOCUS WAS BOUGHT NEW AND I HAVE HAD AT LEAST 4 RECALLS ON IT SO FAR.
MY 2012 FORD FOCUS HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT A PIECE OF JUNK. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REPLACED 5 TIMES. I CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH SHIFTING, ACCELERATION, LUNGING FORWARD, HESITATION, AND OVERALL PERFORMANCE ISSUES ON THE TRANSMISSION. THE LAST TRANSMISSION ( CLUTCH SYSTEM ) WAS INSTALLED BY PAUL MILLER FORD IN LEXINGTON KY. I REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME ISSUES ON THE TRANSMISSION. EACH TIME I DROPPED MY VEHICLE AT THE SERVICE CENTER, I WAS TOLD "EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD, WE SHOW EVERYTHING IS WITHIN PARAMETERS, NO PROBLEMS FOUND." WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. I TAKE IT BACK FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND OOPS, "WE ARE SORRY BUT THE TEST WE RAN FAILED." YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY TO REPLACE YOUR TRANSMISSION. WHEN I ASKED IT FORD HAS FIGURED OUT HOW IT FIX THE PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION, I RECEIVED NO ANSWER, ONLY THAT " WE ARE SO SORRY ABOUT MY TRANSMISSION. I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE TO OPEN UP A CASE (#CAS11662039) AND WAS BASICALLY TOLD THE SAME THING, " WE ARE SORRY, WE DON'T HAVE ANY PROGRAMS THAT HELP PAY FOR FIXING YOUR TRANSMISSION, BUT HANG ON TO YOUR RECEIPT AND IF THERE IS A RECALL YOU CAN GET YOUR $ BACK." ALSO, PAUL MILLER FORD REFUSES TO PROVIDE ME WITH A LIST OF PARTS INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE EACH TIME TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED, THIER COMPUTOR WOULD BE HAVING PROBLEMS EACH TIME MY TRANSMISSION WOULD BE REPLACED. WHY HASNT THERE BEEN A RECALL ON MY 2012 FORD FOCUS IF THERE IS NO WAY TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION?

TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDETERMINED SPEED, THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO THE EXTERIOR AND SUBFRAME. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED HEAD, NECK, AND BACK INJURIES. THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED A BRUISED NECK, AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OCCUPANT SUSTAINED A FRACTURED RIGHT FEMUR. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE CAR SPEED DROPPED SUDDENLY FROM 70 M/H TO 30 M/H. THE CAR BEHIND ME ALMOST HIT ME.MY KIDS AND I WERE VERY CLOSE TO DIE. CALLED FORD AND TOLD ME THERE IS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID MY CAR IS COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THEY DON'T FIX IT BECAUSE IT'S A SALVAGE TITLE. THEY SAID THIS RECALL PROGRAM DOESN'T FIX SALVAGED VEHICLES. FEW WEEKS BEFORE THEY FIXED THE DOOR LATCH BECAUSE THERE WAS A RECALL ON IT. THEY NEVER MENTIONED SALVAGED VEHICLES. WHAT SALVAGE TITLE HAS TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I UNDERSTAND IF THE CAR WAS HIT AT THE TRANSMISSION SITE, THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO FIX IT. HOWEVER, IF A CAR WAS HIT AT THE DOOR OR HAD HAIL DAMAGES AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY CHANGED THE TITLE TO SALVAGE, WHY DON'T YOU FIX THE TRANSMISSION? FORD PEOPLE DON'T CARE IF I OR MY FAMILY DIE ON THE ROAD BECAUSE OF THEIR FAULT. ALL WHAT THEY CARE ABOUT IS TO SAVE FEW DOLLARS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE AND SEE HOW THEY CAN PUT UNREALISTIC TERMS FOR THE RECALL. HOW COME THE COMPANY MAKES FATAL MISTAKES AND THEY STILL PUT THEIR RULES WHAT TO FIX AND WHAT NOT TO FIX. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE RECALL DETAILS WERE NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,366.
METAL ON AIRBAG ASSEMBLY/STEERING WHEEL COVER CRACKING AND PEELING. CAUSING MULTIPLE FINGER LACERATIONS WHILE DRIVING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE POWER STEERING MALFUNCTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY HARD TO MANEUVER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,255.
THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER EVEN THOUGH IT IS STILL IN DRIVE; ENGINE STILL RUNNING FINE, TRANSMISSION IS NOT. MAKES NO DIFFERENCE WHERE THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN; HIGHWAY, CITY STREET, TURNING, THE TRANSMISSIONS SIMPLY SLIPS OUT OF GEAR. YIKES.. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND LOST POWER, YET ENGINE STILL RUNNING. LIKE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR INTO NEUTRAL BUT STILL IN DRIVE. ALSO, TURNING INTO DRIVEWAY AND DID IT AGAIN. *TR
VEHICLE DISENGAGES AND LEAVES YOU STRANDED RIGHT WHERE YOU SET, NO MATTER IF THE GEAR SHIFT IS IN DRIVE, PARK, REVERSE, OR SPORT IT DISENGAGES WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME NUMEROUS TIMES. ONCE, PULLED INTO GAS STATION TO GET GAS AND PUT VEHICLE INTO PARK, GOT OUT, FILLED TANK THEN GOT BACK INTO CAR AND PUT INTO DRIVE AND, NOTHING. TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE. ANOTHER TIME, DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND SAME THING, DISENGAGES THEN WOULD LUNGE THEN DISENGAGE COMPLETELY, STRANDED ON THE HIGHWAY. ANOTHER TIME, AND THIS HAS HAPPEN SO MUCH THAT NOW I TRY TO TIME MYSELF WHILE APPROACHING TRAFFIC SIGNALS AS TO PREPARE MYSELF AS IF IT WHERE GOING TO LOSE POWER EVERY TIME. THESE TIMES YOU WILL BE SETTING IN TRAFFIC AT A LIGHT OR JUST RUSH HOUR BUMPER TO BUMPER AND THE LIGHT CHANGES OR TRAFFIC STARTS TO MOVE AND WITHOUT WARNING TRANSMISSION, DISENGAGES. STRANDED, IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I AM SURPRISED WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT I SEE EVERYONE IS HAVING WITH THESE VEHICLES PERTAINING TO THE TRANSMISSIONS, SOMEONE HASN'T BEEN KILLED. THIS PROBLEM ISN'T A SECRET ANYMORE. JUST GOOGLE FORD FOCUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS! THE NHTSA NEEDS TO "(AS A FEDERAL AGENCY, NHTSA REGULATES THE SAFETY OF MOTOR VEHICLES AND RELATED EQUIPMENT)" DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THE CONSUMER. CALL FORD MOTOR OUT ON THIS ISSUE AND MAKE THEM STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT THAT ARE SELLING. I WAS DRIVING TO GET ON THE FREEWAY AND AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE IT WOULD NOT GO ANY HIGHER IN SPEED OF 25MPH AND THEN IT SPEEDS UP DRASTICALLY. I PARKED IT AND LATER THAT DAY CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER 15 MINUTES CAR TURNED ON WITHOUT PROBLEMS THEN I DROVE IT HOME AND PARKED IT AND DOESN'T TURN ON AT ALL. PUT IN NEW BATTERY BUT CAR STILL WOULD NOT TURN ON ON COMPUTER SCREEN SAYS TO CONTACT MANUFACTURE.

ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, I HAVE RECEIVED NOTICE THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER-ASSISTED STEERING (EPAS) SYSTEM HAS A FAULT AND THAT SERVICE WOULD BE REQUIRED. THE REMEDY, AS PROVIDED IN THE MANUAL, IS TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE THEN RESTART THE VEHICLE TO RESET THE MODULE. WHILE I WAS FORTUNATE THAT THIS HAD NOT OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING, THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE, PARTICULARLY BECAUSE THE STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN THE FAULT OCCURS. RECENTLY, THE EPAS SYSTEM NOTIFIED ME OF A FAULT AND IT WAS NOT REMEDIED UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME MODEL YEAR AND MAKE, HOWEVER, FORD HAS NOT PROVIDED A RECALL, AS THEY DID WITH THE 2012 FUSION AND FLEX. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BECAUSE IT IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURING OR DESIGN DEFECT, WHEREIN THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT BEAR THE COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT (UP TO $2000.00), ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE RECALL ON SIMILAR MODELS FROM THE SAME YEAR. *TR
STEERING FAULT LIGHT AND LOCKED STEERING WHEEL - RECURRING IN MY DRIVEWAY, UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE & FIX - WHAT IF IT HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY?
AFTER STARTING THE FOCUS I WOULD GET A POWER STEERING FAULT ALARM. TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON WOULD FIX THE ISSUE. NOW IT STAYS OFF NO MATTER WHAT. THIS MAKES MANEUVERING EXTREMELY HARD AND DANGEROUS.
MY CAR CONSTANTLY SMELLS LIKE GAS WHEN I START IT UP AFTER FILLING THE GAS TANK UP, THE CAR DIES WHEN DRIVING DOWN ROAD I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO START IT BECAUSE IT DIES WHILE I AM ON THE ROAD SO I HAVE TO PULL OVER SINCE LAST YEAR THE FUEL READER STOPPED WORKING CAUSING ME TO DIE ON SIDE OF ROAD BECAUSE OF RUNNING OUT OF GAS. THE CAR STILL HAS TRANSMISSION ISSUES IT JERKS FROM TIME TO TIME AND THE HALF SHAFT BEARING AND WHEEL BEARINGS ARE CURRENTLY GOING OUT IN THIS CAR. I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THIS IS CAR IS A LEMON I HAVE OWNED OVER 15 USED CARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM AS MUCH I HAVE HAD WITH THIS NEW CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 250,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOKAN FORD (2 FRANKLIN PARK W #1, ST ALBANS CITY, VT 05478, (802) 524-7343) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,595.
I HAVE TWICE RECEIVED AN ERROR WHEN STARTING THE CAR: "STEERING ASSIST FAULT - SERVICE REQUIRED" AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING WHATSOEVER. THE ERROR WAS RESOLVED BOTH TIMES BY RESTARTING THE CAR, BUT I AM VERY NERVOUS THAT THE FAULT WILL OCCUR WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WILL CAUSE A CRASH. I'VE BEEN SEEING THAT THIS IS A RELATIVELY COMMON ERROR IN A RANGE OF FORD VEHICLES AROUND THIS MODEL YEAR AND HOPE THAT A RECALL WILL BE ISSUED SOON.
CAR AT STOP ENGINE REVS FROM LOW TO HIGH, IF YOU PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR THE ENGINE WILL DIE EVEN WHEN YOU ARE IN MOTION. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WILL JUST DIE WHEN YOU PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR. IN TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAYS THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THE COST TO REPAIR THIS DEFAULT IN DESIGN WAS $889.18 AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW. THAT IS AN EGREGIOUS CHARGE FOR A COMMON COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS CARE. PER THE INTERNET RESEARCH WE HAVE DONE. FORD SAYS THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND TAKE IT UP WITH NHSTA SO THAT IS WHAT I AM DOING.

IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
PULLING TO A STOP LIGHT, AS THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED, IT JERKED REALLY HARD TWICE. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED, WE DROVE OFF, IT WOULDNT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. IT HAD NO REVERSE. TOWED TO THE DEALER, THEY PLACED A TCM ON IT WITHOUT TESTING IT FIRST, SAID IT WAS FINE, WE DROVE 3.5 HOURS AND WERE NOW A TOTAL OF 6 HOURS FROM HOME WHEN IT STARTED FEELING RESTRITCIVE WHILE DOING 75 ON THE INTERSTATE AT MIDNIGHT IN THE RAIN. MY HUSBAND THOUGHT IT WAS ROAD NOISE, BUT THEN IT WOULDNT PULL THE CAR AT ALL AND WAS SLOWING DOWN. AT THIS POINT, IT HAD NO MOVEMENT FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. WE HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER IN BOWLING GREEN KY, SPENT 3 DAYS IN A HOTEL FOR THEM TO LEAD US ON THAT THERE WAS POTENTIAL FOR FORD TO FIX THE NOW NOT COVERED TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HAS 47000 MILES ON IT. THEY EVEN TRIED TO SELL US A NEW CAR! THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER IN GREENWOOD INDIANA FOR POTENTIAL REPAIR. THEY DIDNT CHECK THE FLUID IN IT, THEY DIDNT CHECK THE FAILURE CODES, THEY JUST PUT A TCM ON IT AND SAID IT WAS GOOD TO GO, WHEN CLEARLY IT WASNT.

LOST POWER STEERING TO VEHICLE, UNABLE TO DRIVE DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. TRANSMISSION HESITATES WHEN DRIVEN OR WHEN GASING FROM A STOP.
I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN DECEMBER 2018 STATING A RECALL ON THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WOULD BE AVAILABLE THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2019. MY CAR HAS STALLED, HAS ISSUES WITH THIS AFFECTED PART AND CANNOT RELY ON MY VEHICLE. THE RECALL HAS NOT BEEN FULFILLED AND IT IS NOW MAY29, 2019. I HAVE AN ENGINE MALFUNCTION LIGHT THAT COMES ON EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN. IT'S UNRELIABLE AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE WITH THE LACK OF EXCELERATION.
STARTED MY CAR THIS MORNING AND IMMEDIATELY MY "STEERING REQUIRES ASSIST" ALERT CAME ON AND I FOUND I HAD NO POWER STEERING. MY CAR SHOWED NO SIGNS OF ANY ISSUE WHEN I PARKED IT LAST NIGHT 12/14/16 AROUND 7PM BUT WHEN I WENT TO LEAVE FOR WORK AT 12/15/16 AT 5:30AM THE ALERT CAME ON. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AND DEALER HAS INFORMED ME THAT 1) A CAR WITH LESS THAN 70K NEEDS THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF $2000 AND 2) THAT THIS FAILURE IS SO COMMONPLACE THEY STOCK THE STEERING ASSEMBLY FOR THIS REPAIR. I'M JUST THANKFUL I WASN'T COMMUTING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS OCCURRED WHEREAS MANY OTHERS WERE NOT.
FORD FOCUS GAS TANK ISSUE: MY CAR WAS STALLING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TIMELY SO TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE EVAP PURGE VALVE MALFUNCTIONED CAUSING THE FUEL TANK TO WARP. THE GAS TANK NEEDS REPLACED AS WELL AS EVERYTHING RELATED (SEE ATTACHED). MY RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET (I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF HAVING TO GET A GAS TANK REPLACED DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR) SHOWS THAT THIS ISSUE IS KNOWN BY FORD AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO DO A RECALL OR EVEN A NOTIFICATION TO THE OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES. BESIDES MY HUGE CONCERNS ON HAVING A DEFECTIVE GAS TANK (I SEE IT AS A FIRE HAZARD), THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ON THE INTERSTATE AND WAS TRYING TO STALL OUT - I WAS VERY LUCKY NOT TO GET HIT. FORD HAS DONE RECALLS ON OTHER VEHICLES WITH THIS ISSUE WHY NOT THE FORD FOCUS? I EXPECT TO REPAIR / REPLACE THINGS LIKE THE BRAKES NOT THE GAS TANK.

I HAVE TAKEN MY 2012 FORD FOCUS TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES, 2 TIMES BY A LETTER SENT TO ME WANTING ME TO BEING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE KAM RESET AND THE PCM REPROGRAM BECAUSE THE SHAKEN AND SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING AND THE 3TH TIME THE SAME THING AGAIN. NOW THE CAR IS DOING THE SAME THING AGAIN UP TO A SPEED OF ABOUT 20-25 MPH THE SHAKING AND SHUDDERS AND NOISE STOP.

MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR SERVICE 3 TIMES THIS YEAR ALONE FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION ISSUE. EVERY TIME I GO IN THEY ADJUST SOMETHING OR REPLACE A SMALL PART, BUT NEVER COMPLETELY FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION ALSO OVER HEAT AND TELL ME TO PULL OVER ON LARGE BUSY ROADS AND HAVE A LOSS OF POWER WHEN NOT STOPPING FAST ENOUGH. IT IS SCARY WHEN MY CAR IS SHUDDERING GOING NO WHERE AND I AM IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC OR GOING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH MY 2 KIDS IN THE CAR. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE FOCUS, BUT FORD HASN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I'VE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ON LINE AND THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I ALSO HAVE A FRIEND WHO IS A MECHANIC AT A FORD DEALERSHIP AND HE SAID FORD IS QUITE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. TWO YEARS AGO I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY WENT OUT OF GEAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND FLASHED A WARNING. FORD REPLACED THE TCU. THE CAR IS NOW HESITATING AGAIN ALONG WITH SHUTTERING WHEN ACCELERATING.
