I HAVE A 2014 FORD FOCUS. I HAD ISSUES WITH THE GAS TANK FILLING STARTING AT THE END OF 2018. I ALSO STALLED OUT ON THE HIGHWAY PRIOR TO THIS. I INFORMED THE DEALER OF THIS ISSUE PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF THE RECALL WHICH IS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS DEFECT (SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 18S32 /NHTSA RECALL 18V-735). THE DEALER COMPLETED THE SOFTWARE UPDATE RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE GAS TANK STILL EXHIBITED ISSUES FILLING (WHICH ONLY EMERGED AROUND THE STALLING ' THIS IS RELATED TO THE RECALL). THE NEXT DAY AFTER THE SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS COMPLETED, I RECEIVED A P1450 ERROR CODE RELATED TO AN EVAP CANNISTER ERROR. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER, THE REPAIR ASSOCIATED WITH THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. HOWEVER, THE DEALER (WHO HAS BEEN EXTREMELY HELPFUL) STATED THAT FORD WAS UNWILLING TO PROVIDE REIMBURSEMENT TO THIS FOR THIS REPAIR. FORD, ON THEIR WEBSITE STATES, 'DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE, CARBON CANISTER, FUEL TANK AND FUEL DELIVERY MODULE, AS NECESSARY. THERE WILL BE NO CHARGE FOR THESE SERVICES.' FURTHER EFFORTS TO SPEAK TO FORD DIRECTLY ABOUT THIS HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS IS A TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH BILLING THAT FORD REFUSES TO ADDRESS. AS A RESULT, I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE EVAP CANNISTER AT MY OWN EXPENSE ($331.39). THE P1450 CODE CAME BACK ON AFTER THIS REPAIR. THEREFORE THE ISSUE IS STILL NOT RESOLVED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT ANY FURTHER RECALL RELATED REPAIRS WILL BE AT MY EXPENSE BECAUSE FORD REFUSES TO PROVIDE APPROPRIATE REIMBURSEMENT. THE DEALER EXPRESSED THAT THEY WERE VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE SITUATION.
I WAS GIVING A P909C CODE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. FEELS LIKE MY CAR IS HAVING A HARD TIME SWITCH GEARS
CAR JERKS AND STALLS, OUTSTANDING RECALL, DEALERSHIP INSISTS THAT PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE FOR REPAIR
TAKATA RECALL. MY TRANSMISSION AS ALWAYS BEEN FUNNY AND TWO DAYS AGO MY CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACK EVEN WHEN I WAS IN POSITION D. THEN THE TRANSMISSION STARTED OVERHEATING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO AAMCO TO SEE WHAT'S WRONG AND THE MAN SAID THEY GET 2014 AND 2015 FOCUS CARS OFTEN. THE PARTS THEY NEED TO REPLACE ARE THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY, SLAVE CYLINDER, AND TWO MECHANICAL ACTUATORS. ALONG WITH PRESSURE PLATE. I THINK THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON AND SOMEONE SHOULD KNOW. THIS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE MY TRANSMISSION WOULD OVERHEAT AND I WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER SOMEWHERE REAL QUICK TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND LET IT COOL DOWN. THEN MY CAR WOULD BE HARD TO START AFTER THAT. I HAD TO DO THAT A FEW TIMES BEFORE I MADE IT TO THE TRANSMISSION SHOP THAT DAY.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND STOPPED WORKING. SOFTWARE HAS BEEN UPDATED/RELOADED 4 TIMES. REPLACED CONTROL MODULE. FIXED CLUTCHES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WHILE ACCELERATING, WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT (8540 TYLER BLVD, MENTOR, OH 44060) HOWEVER, THE DEALER DECLINE TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR DUE TO THE VEHICLE HAVING A SALVAGE TITLE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE MANUFACTURER HAD TO AUTHORIZE THE REPAIR FOR THE DEALER TO PERFORM THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, A DECISION WAS NOT REACHED AS TO HOW TO PROCEED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
HORN STOPS WORKING RANDOMLY WHILE DRIVING OR WHEN JUST STARTED. HORN SOMETIMES WON'T WORK FOR DAYS
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I HAD THIS ISSUE WITHIN. THE FIRST TIME WAS TWO-THREE WEEKS AGO. ANOTHER ONE OF MY CAR DOOR'S IS NOT CLOSING OR REMAIN CLOSED. I LEARNED ON THE DOOR AND OPENED UP WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. I COULD HAVE DIED. THE LAST TIME I MADE A COMPLAINT, IT WAS THE BACKSEAT RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR. FORD INDICATED THAT THEY ALREADY PREFORMED THE RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE AND WANTED ME TO PAY A DEDUCTIBLE SO I DID. NOW A FEW WEEKS LATER THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED WITH MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IT WON'T CLOSE AND DOES NOT STAY SHUT ESPECIAL WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE TO USE BUNGEE CORDS TO KEEP IT CLOSED. I'M TAKING IT BACK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND PROBABLY GOING TO HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER DEDUCTIBLE. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY THOUGH BECAUSE THE RECALL INDICATES THEY ALREADY FIXED BACK IN 2017. WELL APPARENTLY THEY DIDN'T FIX THIS ISSUE CORRECTLY. EVEN THE CUSTOMER RELATIONS MANAGER DISCLOSED TO ME THAT THE RECALL ONLY FIXED A SMALL PART OF THE DOOR LATCH AND THE DEALERSHIP CAN FIX WHOLE ASSEMBLEY. THE RECALL ONLINE INDICATES HOWEVER, THAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL PAY FOR THIS FREE OF CHARGE. I ALSO WANT TO POINT OUT THAT I DRIVE FOR UBER WITH MY VEHICLE AND IF THIS ISSUE PERSISTS, SOMEBODY COULD GET SEVERELY INJURED AND TURN INTO A LAW SUIT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE PROPERLY BEFORE THIS BECOMES A LAWSUIT OR SOMEONE ENDS UP IN THE HOSPITAL.
WE HAVE THE TITANIUM VERSION IN THE HATCHBACK. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW AND TO DATE HAVE HAD 11 CLUTCHES REPLACED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE CAR KEEPS HESITATING WHEN STARTING TO MOVE, THEN CHATTERS BETWEEN LOWER GEARS. THIS ISSUE STARTED 1 MONTH AFTER PURCHASING NEW AND HAS BEEN AN ONGOING BATTLE.
IN DECEMBER 2018 I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70 MPH AND SUDDENLY MY CAR WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. IT WOULD NOT START EITHER UNTIL HOURS LATER. TOOK IT BACK TO FORD AFTER TELLING THEM WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE OF A FUEL PUMP RECALL. I GOT A LETTER LATER THAT MONTH AFTER MY CAR HAD BEEN TO FORD AND CHECKED OUT, SAYING THE PART WAS RECALLED IN OCTOBER. I WAS NOT NOTIFIED PRIOR AND IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO STALL ON HIGHWAY. THEN A FEW WEEKS AGO I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN. WHENEVER MY FUEL IS KIND OF LOW THE CAR JUST STALLS AND I CAN'T START IT. I WAS ABLE TO GET GAS AND JUMP MY CAR AND GET IT HOME AND HAS BEEN FINE SINCE, BUT I WENT INTO FORD THE NEXT DAY AND TOLD THEM THAT THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT BACK IN DECEMBER WHEN THEY 'FIXED' MY VEHICLE THEY ACTUALLY JUST LOOKED AT IT AND SAID IT WAS FINE, BUT TOLD ME THEY REPLACED/FIXED THE PART. SO THE PART WAS NEVER FIXED OR RESOLVED. NOT TO MENTION I HAVE ONLY HAVE THIS CAR SINCE SEPTEMBER 2017 AND HAVE HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED 3 TIMES AND NOW AM FEELING THE SIGNS OF IT FAILING AGAIN FOR THE 4TH TIME. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AND UNPREDICTABLE AND FORD HAS LIED TO ME AND NOT INFORMED ME OF THE DANGERS OF THE VEHICLE I'M PAYING THEM FOR.
TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO AFTER SITTING AT RED LIGHT A LIGHT CAME ON SAYING TRANSMISSION DEFAULT
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus Electric. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, an alarm alerted the driver to cease driving the vehicle immediately. The contact stated that shortly after the vehicle lost motive power. The contact would coast the vehicle to the side of the road and shift the vehicle to PARK. The contact would then open then close the vehicle, followed by pressing the start button to regain proper function. The failure occurred several times. The contact then took the vehicle to the dealer who diagnosed the vehicle however, the contact was not completely sure if the battery pack was replaced. The failure persisted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
I WAS TURNING TO THE RIGHT WHEN MY VEHICLE STALLED, MY RPMS WENT REAL HIGH AND THEN THE VEHICLE ENGAGED INTO THE NEXT GEAR RESULTING IN A JOLT FORWARD. WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED THE CAR WAS ALMOST HIT FROM BEHIND BY OTHER CAR, LUCKILY I WAS TURNING AND CAR PROCEEDED TO MOVE FORWARD.
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE INCIDENTS WITH MY 2014 FORD FOCUS RELATED TO THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION. BESIDES ROUGH SHIFTING AND LOTS OF SHUDDERING OVER THE YEARS, MY CAR HAS COMPLETELY STALLED ON ME WHILE IN MOTION, DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY 2 DIFFERENT TIMES. I LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE GOING MORE THAN 65 MILES PER HOUR, AND I HAD TO COAST THROUGH HIGH-SPEED TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SHOULDER (BOTH TIMES). THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS JULY 29TH, 2017 IN FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA. THE 2ND TIME WAS JUNE 6TH, 2019 ON THE SAWGRASS EXPRESSWAY IN BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA. BOTH TIMES WERE VERY SCARY AND PUT MYSELF AND OTHERS AT RISK FOR A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS ACCIDENT. EARLY ON, THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE ROUGH TRANSMISSION IS NORMAL AND WOULD GET BETTER IF I IMPROVED MY DRIVING HABITS. MORE RECENTLY I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION WOULD FAIL AGAIN BUT THAT THE WARRANTY HAS BEEN EXTENDED.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 FORD FOCUS ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR ALMOST STALLED DURING A BACKUP IN TRAFFIC. WHILE NORMAL DRIVING THE CAR LOST POWER AND THE RPM GAUGE STARTED DROPPING AS THE ACCELERATOR WAS BEEN DEPRESSED FURTHER. WHILE TRAFFIC TO OVERTAKE ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR ACTUALLY SLOWED DOWN WHILE TRYING TO GO FASTER. THE CAR BEHAVE LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS HAVING PROBLEMS SWITCHING TO LOWER GEARS.
I WAS SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN MY CAR WOULDN'T MOVE, LOOKED DOWN AT THE SPOT ON THE DASH WHERE IT SAYS WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN AND IT WAS FLASHING. FINALLY GOT THE CAR TO MOVE INTO A PARKING LOT. I HAS IT LOOKED AT AND THEY SAID IT WAS FIXED. THE NEXT DAY I WAS DRIVING AND IT STARTED SLIPPING GEARS.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE THEIR TRANSMISSION SPECIALIST DIAGNOSE THE VEHICLE AND CALL THE CONTACT BACK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000. *BF*JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BLAKE FULENWIDER FORD (115 W HOUSTON ST, BEEVILLE, TX 78102) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
REPLACED TRANSMISSION DUE TO RECALL. THEN THEIR WAS A RECALL ON THE RECALL. TOOK CAR BACK STATING THE CAR STILL SHUTTERS AND STUTTERS. SUPV STATED YOU NEED TO DRIVE 2000 MILES IT WILL RESET. WELL HERE IT IS SEPTEMBER.2020 CAR IS STILL STUTTERING AND SHUTTERING WHEN COMING FROM STOP TO ACCELERATION CAUSING A POTENTIAL ACCIDENT FROM CAR BEHIND. WHAT CAN I DO. THEY BRUSH ME OFF EVERY TIME I TELL THEM THIS . WHEN THIS HAPPENS I GET A WARNING SMOOTH DRIVING SAVES FUEL NUMEROUS TIMES AND WILL APPEAR AS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE AND IT'S A SMOOTH ROAD. CAR WILL DECREASE SPEED.
MY SON AND I STOPPED AT A REST AREA ON A ROAD TRIP. WHEN MY SON STARTED THE ENGINE TO CONTINUE THE TRIP HE RECEIVED THE ERROR CODE "STEERING ASSIST FAULT, SERVICE NOW". WE WENT TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP WHO SAID THEY WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO LOOK AT THE CAR FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS AND IF I WAS COMFORTABLE DRIVING WITHOUT POWER STEERING IT WOULDN'T HURT ANYTHING ELSE. SINCE MY 1ST CAR DIDN'T HAVE POWER STEERING I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A GO. WHEN WE REACHED OUR FINAL DESTINATION WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED TO HAVE THE RACK AND PINION REPLACED AT A COST OF $2,400. THIS SEEMS TO BE A RECURRING THEME WITH THE FORD FOCUS. I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THIS WOULD HAVE OCCURRED WHILE MY SON WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON THE NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAGIC CITY FORD LINCOLN (LOCATED AT 809 WILLIAMSON RD NE, ROANOKE, VA 24016, (540) 345-0911) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS INTERNAL CLUTCH FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED, WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
IN MY 2014 FORD FOCUS, THE RADIO IS MAKING AWFUL SOUNDS. IT STARTED OFF AS MUSIC WOULD STOP PLAYING THEN A LOUD BANG WOULD HAPPEN AND THE RADIO WOULD CUT BACK ON IMMEDIATELY AFTER. NOW IT IS AN ISSUE WHERE THE RADIO AND CAR IS COMPLETELY TURNED OFF AND WILL MAKE LOUD POPPING, STATIC, SCREECHING, AND WHITE NOISE. CURRENTLY, IT IS STILL HAVING THESE SAME ISSUES WHILE DRIVING AND EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PARKED AND THE KEY IS OUT OF THE IGNITION; I HAVE ALSO FOUND THE ISSUE HAS PROGRESSED WORSE TO WHERE THE CAR IS MAKING THESE NOISES AFTER OPENING THE DRIVERS DOOR WITH NO KEY NEAR AND AFTER NOT BEING DRIVEN FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS.WHEN THE ISSUE HAD STARTED I WAS AT A BUSY INTERSECTION AND IT SOUNDED LIKE CARS WERE REAR ENDING ME. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE THESE SOUNDS ARE SUDDEN AND AS A YOUNG DRIVER IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS, BECAUSE THESE SOUNDS ARE LOUD ENOUGH FOR ME TO POTENTIALLY JERKING THE WHEEL AND CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS ABOUT THIS ISSUE BECAUSE IT IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING FOR ME, THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING, AND COULD NOT EVEN TELL ME SOME PLANS TO POTENTIALLY FIX IT WITHOUT HAVING THE DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSIS THE ISSUE WHICH IS A LOT OF MONEY WHEN IT IS NOT AN OWNER ERROR. I HAVE ALSO LOOKED AT MULTIPLE ONLINE FORMS WHERE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WITH FOCUSES RANGING FROM 2012-2015 ARE ALSO HAVING THIS ISSUE AND ARE NOT GETTING HELP FROM FORD AT ALL. ALL OWNERS AGREE THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED AND IT SEEMS LIKE WE ARE GETTING PUSHED TO THE BACK-BURNER BECAUSE IT IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE, WHEN IT INDEED IS. I HAVE ALSO FOUND WHERE MECHANICS ARE TELLING PEOPLE THE FUSES COULD BE BAD, WHICH COULD START A FIRE WHICH IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING. I ALSO FOUND WHERE FORD ISSUED A TSB FOR 2012-2013 MODELS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE.
MY CAR HAS BEEN DOWN FOR 2 MONTHS. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK MY CAR TO FORD BECAUSE IT HASN'T EVEN BEEN A YEAR SINCE MY PURCHASE. AFTER HAVING MY CAR FOR A WEEK THEY DECIDED THAT MY CAR NEEDED A NEW CLUTCH. NOW THAT I'M READING ALL OF THESE REVIEWS THAT ARE VERY SIMILAR TO MINE I NEED ANSWERS. MY CAR WAS SHUDDERING WHEN I FIRST MADE THE PURCHASE, BUT I WAS TOLD THOSE TYPES OF CARS JUST DRIVE LIKE THAT. FORD SAID THAT MY CLUTCH WAS NOT COVERED AND I HAVE TO PAY $2500 TO GET IT FIXED. WHEN IT'S CLEAR THAT FORD WAS ALREADY HAVING ISSUES WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS. NOW I'M STUCK BETWEEN HAVING A REPOSSESSION OR HAVING TO COME UP WITH $2500 AND PAY MY CAR NOTE STILL. THIS IS INSANE.
VEHICLE HAS A STRONG SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR FROM LOW SPEEDS. GAUDIN FORD IN LAS VEGAS TOLD ME THE 2014 FOCUS HAS A PROBLEM WITH THEIR CLUTCH THAT CAUSES THE SHUDDERING. I HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED AT 7500 MILES. THE SHUDDER CAME BACK AT 55000 MILES AND IS GETTING WORSE NOW AT 75,000 MILES. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM FOR THE SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BUT FOR SOME REASON MY VIN ISN'T INCLUDED. THE PROBLEM AFFECTS ME; FORD SERVICE HAS ALREADY CONFIRMED IT. I NEED MY VIN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL/EXTENDED WARRANTY.
BEGINNING IN 2017, AS I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT ON A CITY STREET, THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL. AFTER THE RPM METER WAS PASSED "2" THE CAR JERKED BACK AND SLOWED DOWN FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN WENT BACK TO THE PREVIOUS SPEED. THIS CONTINUOUSLY HAPPENED EVERY TIME I WOULD PRESS THE GAS PETAL TO SPEED UP FOR SEVERAL DAYS. I TOOK THE CAR IN A MECHANIC SHOP AND MY CAR WAS NO LONGER JERKING BACK AND THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG; HOWEVER, I HAVE THE DOCUMENTS FROM THIS MECHANIC STATING WHAT WAS HAPPENING AT THIS TIME. AT THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WAS WELL UNDER 100,000 MILES. AGAIN IN 2018 I WAS ON MY WAY TO WORK AND THE SAME THING BEGAN AGAIN. THE CAR SEEMED TO LOSE POWER FOR A FEW SECONDS EVERY TIME I WOULD SPEED UP THE VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO YET ANOTHER MECHANIC SHOP WHERE THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG AGAIN. SOON AFTER MY CAR BEGAN ACTING NORMAL AGAIN. FINALLY, IN MAY 2019 THE SAME ISSUE BEGAN AGAIN. I WOULD PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND MY CAR WOULD START TO GO, THEN IT WOULD JERK BACK FOR A FEW SECONDS AS IF LOSING POWER, THEN GAIN POWER BACK AND SPEED UP. ALSO, SEVERAL TIMES IN 2019 I WOULD TURN ON THE CAR, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, PRESS THE GAS PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE. IT SEEMED TO HAVE NO POWER. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A THIRD MECHANIC AND THEY INFORMED OF A TRANSMISSION RECALL FOR MY YEAR AND MODEL CAR. I WAS UNAWARE OF THIS RECALL UP UNTIL THIS POINT AND I DO NOT KNOW THE RECALL NUMBER. I WAS A COLLEGE STUDENT AND MY MAIL WAS SENT TO MY HOME ADDRESS RATHER THAN MY COLLEGE ADDRESS. THIS MECHANIC THEN REBUILT THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION FOR $3,000. THE MECHANIC THEN SENT MY VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE FOR NO COST.
THE CAR RANDOMLY STALLS AND DIES WHILE I AM DRIVING IT. IT HAS DIED ON THE INTERSTATE AND ON RURAL ROADS AND HIGHWAYS. IT IS DEAFENING AND EXTREMELY STARTLING TO THE DRIVER AS WELL AS ANY PASSENGERS. MY 2 YEAR OLD CRIES AND COVERS HIS EARS, SO MUCH THAT HE HAS TO WEAR HEARING PROTECTION ON OUR 45 MINUTE COMMUTE BACK HOME. IT'LL EVEN MAKE THE SOUND AFTER I HAVE SHUT THE CAR OFF. ONCE OFF, OPENING THE DOOR IS THE ONLY WAY THAT IT STOPS. THIS IS THE FORD SYNC MEDIA SYSTEM. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY FORD THAT I NEED TOP REPLACE THE SYNC SYSTEM BECAUSE IT IS NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY. MIGHT I AFF THATY THE ARE COUNTLESS OTHERS OUT THERE THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SYNC SYSTEM AS I AM. DOOR LOCK LATCH OPENING UP WHILE DRIVING. AS I WAS DRIVING ONE EVENING FROM THE GAS STATION, THE RIGHT SIDE BACK SEAT DOOR OPENED UP. THE DOOR SWUNG OPEN AS I MADE A TURN ABOUT LEAVE THE GAS STATION I WAS AT. I QUICKLY PULLED OVER AND LOOKED TO SEE IF SOMETHING WAS IN THE WAY AND PROCEEDED TO CLOSE IT. HOWEVER, THE DOOR WOULD BOUNCE BACK AND NOT SHUT EVEN AFTER SEVERAL TIMES. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL OF THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL BACK IN 2016 REGARDING THE SAME PROBLEM. I ALSO RAN THE RISK OF SOMEONE BEING ABLE TO EASILY ACCESS MY CAR OVER NIGHT. THE RECALL SAYS THAT DEALERSHIP IS SUPPOSED TO TAKE CARE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE FREE OF CHARGE BY BRINGING MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT FIX THIS SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE FREE OF CHARGE. THEY TOLD ME THAT I HAD TO PAY THE DEDUCTIBLE FOR THEM TO FIX IT AND THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT THAT. I FOR ONE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS ISSUE CONSIDERING IT WAS PART OF A SAFETY RECALL. I AM ALSO UPSET THAT THEY KNEW ABOUT THIS ISSUE SINCE 2016 AND THEY DEALERSHIP IS NOT HONORING REPAIRING THIS DESPITE THAT. I AM WANTING THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THIS FREE OF CHARGE OR REIMBURSE LATER FOR WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING ME NOW.

I WAS CHARGED 830 DOLLARS BY MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP (INVER GROVE FORD LINCOLN IN INVER GROVE HEIGHTS MN) TO LOCATE AND REPAIR CHAFFED AND DAMAGED WIRING IN THE ENGINE HARNESS IN THE IDENTICAL LOCATION TO THE ST AND ESCAPE MODELS.
FORD IS REFUSING TO PERFORM RECALL 18V-735. THE CAR STALLS, RUNS OUT OF GAS, HAS ERRONEOUS MILEAGE AND DTE READINGS. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS "OBLIGATED" TO PERFORM THE RECALL SERVICE WHEN I HAD IT IN FOR A DIFFERENT SAFETY RECALL FOR FAULTY DOOR LATCH. THEY DIDN'T SEEM TO KNOW MUCH ABOUT THE RECALL ON THE FUEL SYSTEM. THEY DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE GAS TANK. I HAD TO TELL THEM. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE PCM WHICH DID NOTHING. THE RECALL ON THIS CAR WAS CLOSED. I CALLED FORD. THEY SAID THE RECALL WAS STILL OPEN AND TAKE IT TO WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR NEW. THAT DEALER SAYS THE RECALL IS CLOSED ON THAT CAR. THE CAR STALLS, RAN OUT OF GAS YESTERDAY WITH MY WIFE ON A BUSY HIGHWAY. THIS IS A DANGEROUS CAR. CALLED FORD AGAIN. THEY SAY THE RECALL SERVICE WAS PERFORMED AND THE CAR IS FINE. LOOK AT THE PHOTO. DOES THAT LOOK LIKE IT IS FINE? 39.8 MPG? NOT A CHANCE. THE CAR LURCHES, STALLS AND RUNS OUT OF GAS BETWEEN 120 AND 60 MILES LEFT ON THE DTE GAUGE. ABSOLUTELY NO ABILITY TO TURN THE WHEEL WITH OUT BREAKING IT OFF THE STEERING COLUMN. ALSO HAD TEMPORARY FAILURE WHEN THE WINTEWR TEMPS WENT WELL BELOW FREEZING BUR EVENTUALLY THE STEERING WOULD COME BACK ONLINE ONCE THE CAR WARMED UP (UP TO 45 MINUTES). VERY DANGEROUS!!!
WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WINDSHIELD WHEN TURNED ON. THIS CONDITION OCCURS REGARDLESS OF SPEED SETTING OR THE INTERMITTENT SETTING. THIS CONDITION OCCURS REGARDLESS OF MOVING OR STATIONARY, SPEED OF MOTION, INTENSITY OF RAIN OR OTHER FACTORS. THIS HAS HAPPENED EVERY SINGLE TIME THAT I HAVE USED THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS.
