THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,087.
CAR IS AT 18K MILES. TRANS HAS BEEN SHUDDERING, HESITATING UPON ACCELERATION & MAKING GRINDING NOISES. DEALER "RECALIBRATED" 2 TIMES AND NOW SAYS I NEED A CLUTCH FOR WHICH I HAVE BEEN WAITING 9 WEEKS. BELIEVE THAT FORD DEALER IS HOPING I MISS NJ 24K LEMON LAW LIMITATION. FEARFUL OF LONG DISTANCE TRAVEL SINCE DON'T KNOW IF CAR WILL STOP SHIFTING. PROBLEM IS EVIDENT AT STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.
EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR I THOUGHT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION, BUT IT BEING A NEW CAR AND A NEW SYSTEM WE THOUGHT THAT MAYBE THIS IS JUST HOW THE CAR WORKS.. FAST FORWARD TO AROUND 20K MILES MY CAR NOW NEEDS A NEW CLUTCH.. IT WILL NOT SHIFT PROPERLY IT WILL SHUTTER, IT WILL STALL IT MAKES GRINDING NOISE WHILE INCREASING SPEEDS AND SHIFTING.. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE AND I DON'T DEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT OR PUTTING MY KIDS IN IT, THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WILL TAKE 4-6 WEEKS FOR MY NEW CLUTCH TO ARRIVE BUT IT'S OK TO DRIVE MY CAR IT WON'T CAUSE ISSUES UNLESS IT STARTS TO STALL.. IF THIS CAR WAS TO STALL WHILE ON A FREEWAY OR OR GOING AT FAST SPEEDS THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AND PUT MINE AND MY CHILDREN'S LIFE IN DANGER.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR LESS THAN 6 MOS. AGO. IT HAS HAD 2 RECALLS SO FAR. THE TRANSMISSION HAS A PROBLEM. IT JUMPS AND ACTS LIKE IT IS GOING TO DIE. TWICE WHEN I HAVE STARTED IT THERE WAS A KNOCKING LIKE THE ENGINE HAD SOMETHING WRONG. WHEN I CHANGED THE GEAR THE KNOCKING QUIT. WHEN I RUN THE HEATER THERE IS A BURNING SMELL. I TOOK IT IN AND TOLD THEM I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT AND THEY DID THE RECALLS THEN TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T MAKE IT DO THE OTHER THINGS I HAD MENTIONED. I ASK THEM TO PUT ME IN SOMETHING ELSE AND THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $400.00-$500.00 A MONTH PAYMENT. I BELIEVE FORD KNEW OF THIS PROBLEM BUT CONTINUES TO SELL THEM SO WHEN PEOPLE COMPLAIN THEY CAN CHARGE THEM MORE MONEY. I AM A 55 YEAR OLD WOMAN THAT DRIVES 120 MILES A DAY BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. WHEN I GET OFF WORK I DRIVE HOME IN THE DARK. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR!!! FORD WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED IN THIS CAR BECAUSE OF THE ENGINE HESITATION. I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2015 FORD FOCUS IN JULY 2015 WITH 17 MILES ON IT. I HAVE PUT IT IN THE SHOP UNDER WARRANTY FOR SHUDDERING JERKING , THE RPMS GO UP WHEN I COME TO A STOP AND IT MAKES CLICKING NOISES AND GOING DEAD WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR TRYING TO LEAVE FROM A STOP. I HAVE NEARLY BEEN HIT TWICE WHEN PULLING OUT ONTO THE HWY TURNING LEFT GOING TO WORK BECAUSE THE CAR JUST JERKED AND DIED COMPLETELY. IF NOT FOR THE OTHER DRIVERS PAYING ATTENTION THEY WOULD HAVE HIT ME. I HAVE TWO YOUNG CHILDREN. I JUST READ AND FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS WHOLE POWERSHIFT LAWSUIT AND I AM IN TOTAL SHOCK. HOW COULD YOU SELL ME A VEHICLE WITH THIS KIND OF DEFECT? MY CHILDREN AND ME COULD BE KILLED EVERYTIME I GET IN THE VEHICLE. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE NO HELP EITHER. FIRST THEY SAID IT WAS "AN UPDATE" THAT I NEEDED. NEXT IT WAS NORMAL OF THOSE KIND OF CARS THEN IT WAS OK WE CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG THEN IT WAS TCM THEN CLUTCH FINALLY AFTER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I TOOK IT TO THE LAST DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE VAPOR EMISSIONS VALVE. I JUST THROW MY HANDS UP WITH IT. I CANT TRADE IT IN BECAUSE ITS VALUE ITS SO LOW. I AM A SINGLE WORKING MOTHER OF TWO KIDS AND I AM SCARED EVERYTIME I GET IN THIS DEATH TRAP. HELP
THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD, EXPERIENCES DELAYED ACCELERATION ALL THE TIME, DELAYED DOWNSHIFTING AND VEHICLES THAT HAVE TROUBLE STOPPING. IT IS SCARY WHEN I GO TO PULL OUT AND THE CAR JUST REVS AND DOES NOT MOVE I STEP ON GAS IT WILL SLOWLY GO, THEN IT WILL JUST REV. SEVERAL TIMES I HAD TO PULL TO SIDE OF SHOULDER TO GET OUT OF THE WAY BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT ACCELERATING. SCARY WHEN MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR. IT DOES IT ON A WEEKLY BASES. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN SEVERAL TIME BUT THEY SAY SORRY IF THEY CANT SEE THE CAR DOING IT THEY CANT FIX IT. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE TO MOVE.

AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTED REPAIRS, THERE IS STILL HESITATION AND LOSS OF POWER ON HIGHWAY. ALSO SHUDDERING AND HESITATION ON TAKE OFF. I HAD A INCIDENT AT A STAND STILL WHERE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT ENGAGE AND HIT THE BACK OF A TRUCK. THE DEALER SAID JUST KEEP DRIVING AFTER COMPLAINING NUMEROUS OF TIME. SINCE JUNE 2016 IT HAS BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND CAN'T CORRECT THE ISSUE. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS.
11/4/15 MY WIFE WHILE DRIVING IN HER WORK PARKING LOT AT A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH EXPERIENCED A TIRE BLOWOUT ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. THE BLOWOUT CAUSED A SMALL TEAR IN THE TIRE AT THE SEAM WHERE THE SIDEWALL JOINS THE TREAD. WE COULD FIND NO EVIDENCE OF ANYTHING OTHER THAN A DEFECT IN THE TIRE WHICH COULD HAVE ATTRIBUTED TO THE BLOWOUT. IT WAS ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD NOISE AND IMMEDIATELY LOSING ALL AIR PRESSURE IN THE TIRE. THE TIRE IS A CONTINENTAL CONTIPRO CONTACT SIZE 215/55 R 16 93H | DOT NUMBER CNB3 WBPC 0615.

AFTER 3 WEEKS OF PURCHASING A NEW 2015, WE EXPERIENCE SEVERE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND SHUDDERING . STEERING COLUMN SHAKE, SHIFTS UP AND DOWN FORCED AND NOT ACCURATE. SLUGGISH PERFORMANCE TO THE POINT OF BEING A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. HELP ME. FORD SAID IT WAS MY FAULT, REFUSED TO GENERATE A WORK ORDER. 2ND TIME DIF DEALER SAID IT WAS NORMAL GO AWAY NO WORK ORDER EVEN. 3RD VISIT THEY SAID LEAVE IT FOR 30 DAYS, I CAN'T. The contact stated that once the vehicle had been driven for more than 20 minutes, the vehicle stopped jerking into gear. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission control module (TCM) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. I HAVE HAD A FAULTY TRANSMISSION SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT THE CAR AND AS A SINGLE MOTHER, I CAN NOT AFFORD TO BRING THE CAR IN FOR SERVICING EVERY OTHER DAY. THIS TRANSMISSION IS DANGEROUS. IT SHUTTERS AND JOLTS VERY HARD AND IS CREATING DANGEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS FOR ME AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. VEHICLE IS IN MOTION WHEN I AM NOTICING THE PROBLEMS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER A YEAR AFTER I BOUGHT IT NEW, TRANS PROBLEMS ( SHUTTERING ) THEY FIXED IT , A YEAR AND A HALF LATER IT IS SHUTTERING AGAIN. I ALSO HAD A 2014 FOCUS ,DID THE SAME THING. FORD KNEW ABOUT THIS BECAUSE MY NEIGHBOR IS A PROTOTYPE MECHANIC IN DEARBORN, AND HE SAID THEY NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED FORDS, NEVER AGAIN, IN FACT I BOUGHT A TOYOTA, AND WHEN I GET RID OF THIS POS, I WILL BUY ANOTHER TOYOTA.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,342.
ON 2 OCCASSIONS WITH THE DASH INDICATOR INDICATING AVAILABLE BATTERY POWER, THE VEHICLE HAS SHUT DOWN SUDDENLY.
I’ve been having issues with my automatic clutch transmission since I’ve bought this vehicle. There has been numerous repairs done but the company tells me they aren’t responsive on covering another. It causes the car to jerk when accelerating aggressively and has almost caused a wreck. It has been confirmed by the dealership. No warning signs with this. First started to appear a few months after buying the vehicle and then upon repair the issue would return I few months after the fact and the dealership would not help.

2015 FORD FOCUS HAS THE OPTIONAL POWERSHIFT SIX SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. WHEN SLOWLY STARTING FROM LOW SPEED 20 MPH WITH LIGHT THROTTLE, THE ENGINE REVS TO 6000 RPM AND THE VEHICLE BARELY MOVES.THIS CREATES A HAZARDOUS CONDITION AND HAS RESULTED IN NEAR MISSES. I HAVE ALSO OBSERVED THIS AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WHERE THE SUDDENLY LOSES SPEED, BUT THE ENGINE IS STILL AT HIGH RPM (AGAINST THE REV LIMITER). ONLY BY MANUALLY SHIFTING THE TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL AND THEN BACK TO DRIVE, CAN VEHICLE SPEED BE RETURNED.THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN INTO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES AND THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER HAS BEEN RE-FLASHED TWICE. FORD ENGINEERING HAS BEEN CONTACTED BY DEALER AND THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION. A DATA LOGGER FROM THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN USED TO RECORD THREE INSTANTS THAT HAVE OCCURRED. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION AND MAKES THE THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO BE DRIVEN. IT WILL ONLY BE A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT OCCURS. BECAUSE OF THIS CONDITION, WE ARE USING ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORTATION UNTIL THIS CONDITION CAN BE CORRECTED.
I RENTED THIS NEW 2015 FOCUS SEDAN FROM HERTZ AT MIAMI INTL AIRPORT TO DRIVE 280 MILES HOME TO OCALA, FL. THE ENTIRE WAY, THE STEERING GRABBED, SLIPPED AND HAD A DIFFICULT TIME STAYING IN ONE LANE, THE STEERING PULLED TO THE LEFT AND TO THE RIGHT IN A JERKY DANGEROUS MANNER. WE WERE LITERALLY SCARED TO DRIVE THE FOCUS BUT HAD TO IN ORDER TO GET BACK HOME THAT NIGHT. I WOULD NEVER DRIVE ANOTHER FOCUS 2015, AND I AM A FORMER DOT EMPLOYEE.

MANY OF THE FORD FOCUS ST 2015 MODELS HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT GRILL POPPING OUT. THIS CREATES A SAFETY ISSUE IN THE EVENT THE GRILL POPS OUT WHILE DRIVING WHICH COULD THEN DAMAGE THE CAR, PUNCTURE TIRES, OR HIT OTHER VEHICLES, DRIVERS, OR MOTORCYCLIST WHO MAY BE FOLLOWING THE VEHICLE. AFTER SUBMITTING TO AN INSPECTION, OFFERING PHOTO'S, AND EVEN WEB LINKS TO 100'S OF OTHERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM FORD HAS NO TSB OR STATED FIX. ACCORDING TO THE DEALER THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE BROUGHT IN AND THE BODY DEPARTMENT FIND SOME WAY TO ANCHOR IN THE GRILL ON AFFECTED VEHICLES. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNSAFE AND RIDICULOUS FOR BRAND NEW VEHICLES.
VEHICLE IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND PARKING BREAK MALFUNCTIONED. PARKING BREAK IS NEEDED TO BE ON DUE TO SLIGHT DECLINE INTO THE GARAGE. VEHICLE COLLIDED WITH GARAGE WALL DAMAGING BACK LEFT LUMINESCENT LIGHTS, BUMPER, AND TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE. THE GARAGE WALLS ARE CONSTRUCTED OF CONCRETE AND ONLY DAMAGE VISUALLY PRESENT IS PAINT TRANSFER FROM THE VEHICLE TO THE WALL. ANY SOONER AND THE INCIDENT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN SERIOUS INJURY OR FATALITY AS GROCERIES FROM THE STORE WERE RECENTLY UNLOADED FROM THE CAR.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE TRANSMISSION IS STUTTERING, GRINDING AND PERFORMING POORLY. FORD SAID THAT THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE "I DRIVE TOO CAREFULLY, THE TRANSMISSION IS DESIGNED TO BE DRIVEN AGGRESSIVELY AND WILL GET STUCK BETWEEN GEARS UNLESS YOU 'FLOOR IT'".
THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION TRIPS, JUMPS, STALL, ETC WHILE DRIVING. IT MAY CAUSE THE CAR TO GO SLOWLY OR TOO FAST IN A MANNER THAT MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WITH THE BACK OR FRONT CAR. DEALER SERVICE SAYS THAT IT IS NORMAL WITHOUT DRIVING THE CAR ON THE ROAD.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP BEFORE A RED TRAFFIC LIGHT, THE CAR JERKED FORWARD LIKE I WAS BEING REAR-ENDED. SEVERAL TIMES I WAS GOING OVER A MAN-HOLE COVER; THE LAST TIME I WAS GOING OVER THE RAIL TRACKS. IT SHOCKED ME AS I THOUGHT THE CAR WAS HIT FROM BEHIND, AND ESPECIALLY WHEN I WAS TRYING TO STOP AND THE WHEELS JUST SPUN FASTER. LUCKILY I HAD ENOUGH DISTANCE IN FRONT AND DIDN'T HIT ANY CAR IN FRONT OF MINE.
I WAS ATTEMPTING TO CROSS A BUSY HIGHWAY. WHEN I ACCELERATED THE GAS PEDAL HAD TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO RESPOND ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS SLUGGISHNESS CONTINUED AS WELL AS HARD JOLTING FORWARD SHIFTS AFTER INITIAL ACCELERATION AND EVENTUALLY A FORWARD JERKING LOUD DOWNSHIFT NOISE WHEN STOPPING. THESE PROBLEMS CONTINUED, VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE IT IS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM BUT REFUSE TO COVER IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 76,706.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated before accelerating. Additionally, while shifting the gear shifter, there was a delay before the shifter would move to the desired position. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch had failed. The clutch was replaced. After having the vehicle repaired, the failure persisted. The contact stated while driving approximately 25 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal and the engine revved; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended and failed to exceed 2 MPH. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where the transmission failure was confirmed. The dealer had stated the transmission and the clutch might need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and it was confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000.
FORD'S AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS CONSTANTLY SHUDDERED WHEN STARTING AND SHIFTS IN A JERKING, HESITATING MANNER. FORD REPLACED THE CLUTCH PLATES WHICH PROVIDED MINIMAL IMPROVEMENT. FORD HAS SAID THE WARRANTY ON THIS TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO 100,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
I TRADED THIS VEHICLE IN FROM A 2012 FORD FIESTA, WHICH AFTER THREE YEARS HAD BECOME A ROLLING DISASTER, FROM THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION TO THE ALWAYS-DYING BATTERY AND TWO RECALLS. THE DEALER ASSURED ME THE 2015 FOCUS WAS REDESIGNED AND MUCH BETTER. I'LL ADMIT IT DRIVES MUCH BETTER, IS ROOMIER, AND NO JERKING IN THE TRANSMISSION LIKE THE FIESTA'S "AUTOMATED MANUAL" TRANSMISSION DID. BUT NOW WHEN THE VEHICLE GETS HOT, I SMELL AN OVERWHELMING SMELL OF SOMETHING BURNING, ALMOST LIKE A GASKET, RUBBERY TYPE SMELL. I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S BRAKES, ENGINE OIL, WHAT. I TOLD THE SERVICE DEPT. ABOUT IT, BUT THEY SAID WITH JULY THEY WERE SHORT OF HELP WITH VACATIONS, AND SINCE THE CAR ONLY HAD 500 MILES ON IT, I HAD "PLENTY OF TIME" ON THE WARRANTY, NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THEY SAID TO LET IT BREAK IN AT LEAST ANOTHER 500 MILES. SO FAR I'VE NOT HAD SMOKE, STARTING OR STALLING PROBLEMS LIKE OTHERS HAVE REPORTED. I HAVE BROKEN IN LOTS OF BRAND NEW CARS IN MY LIFETIME, AND NEVER, EVER HAD A BURNING SMELL. PURCHASED THIS CAR AT THE END OF MAY 2015, THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND SHUTTERING IN JUNE, I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR SOMETIMES I AM AFRAID WHEN BACKING UP OR TAKING OFF THAT I WILL JERK AND HIT SOMEONE. ONCE AGAIN I WAS TOLD AFTER 1000 MILES IF THE JERKING IS STILL THERE THEN BRING IT IN SO I DID BUT OF COURSE THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY GET SO MANY CALLS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND AT FIRST THEY DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE ME THE TIME OF DAY SINCE THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER AND THERE NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME, I TOLD HIM JUST HAVE SOMEONE DRIVE IT. ANOTHER SERVICE REP DROVE IT BUT SAID HE DIDN'T FEEL ANYTHING JUST THE NORMAL JERKING. I KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO BE IN A MANUAL CAR AND THE FORD FOCUS ISN'T IT. THIS CAR WHEN TAKING OFF , SLOWING DOWN AND PICKING BACK UP FEELS LIKE IT WILL BREAK DOWN.
I HAD JUST CHARGED MY CAR TO 100% BEFORE LEAVING WORK. LATER THAT DAY I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AT 40 MPH AND I DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING WAS WRONG UNTIL I MADE MY FIRST RIGHT TURN. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN ON TO A STREET THAT WAS GOING TO LEAD ME TO THE 210W FREEWAY. AS I TRIED TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND THEN FROZE UP AND WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO DO A FULL TURN. I WAS FORCED TO MAKE THE WIDEST TURN POSSIBLE. AFTER THE CAR STRAIGHTENED OUT IT WAS GOING SMOOTHLY AGAIN. HOWEVER, BECAUSE I AM 8 1/2 MONTHS PREGNANT I FELT SCARED AND DIDN'T FEEL COMFORTABLE TO ENTER THE FREEWAY. SO, I TURNED AROUND TO TAKE THE STREETS HOME. AS I CONTINUED TO DRIVE, THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF MY RADIO AND SAID "TURNING OFF AUDIO TO SAFE BATTERY". I WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHY I WOULD GET THIS MESSAGE BECAUSE I HAD APPROXIMATELY 97% CHARGE. THEN EVERYTHING MINUTE OR SO THE RADIO WOULD COME ON AND GO OFF. NOT TOO LONG AFTER CONTINUING ON THE STREETS THE CAR MADE A CONTINUOUS ALARM SOUND FOLLOWED BY A MESSAGE THAT SAID "PULL OVER SAFELY. RIGHT NOW!" THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE CURVE WHICH WAS, HOWEVER, PAINTED RED AND TURNED ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS, WHICH HAPPENED TO FLICKER THE ENTIRE TIME. KEEP IN MIND IT WAS LATER IN THE EVENING SO IT WAS DIFFICULT TO NOTICE THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND MY HUSBAND. I THEN CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY ADVISED ME TO HAVE THE CAR TAKEN TO THEM. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SHOWED UP ABOUT 90 MINUTES LATER AND TOWED MY CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. *TR

IT TOOK ME APPROX. 15 MINUTES TO SAFELY GET OUT OF CAR WITH HOPES I WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN CRASHED INTO. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A SEVERE INJURY OR EVEN A FATALITY. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A FORMAL RECALL FOR THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS IN ITS FOCUS MODELS. THERE IS A WIDE-SPREAD ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION SKIPPING AND FORD IS AWARE. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE!! I HAVE GOTTEN TWO "TRANSMISSION FAULT" ALARMS AND CANNOT SAFELY PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP. THE CAR STUTTERS AND SKIPS. FORD IS NOT DEALING WITH THIS. THEY MAKE FOCUS OWNERS WAIT 6-8 WEEKS FOR A PART BUT THAT DOESN'T REMEDY THE ISSUE. I UNDERSTAND THAT OTHER FORD FOCUS OWNERS WHO HAVE RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT PART CONTINUE TO HAVE THE PROBLEM. FORD DOESN'T WANT TO ADMIT THAT THESE AUTO TRANSMISSIONS ARE FAULTY. THEY ARE HAZARDOUS. I CANNOT ACCELERATE OR PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC WITHOUT THE FOCUS' TRANSMISSION STUTTERING AND SKIPPING. IT IS NOTSAFE. PLEASE MAKE FORD ADDRESS THIS ISSUE WITH THE FOCUS AUTO TRANSMISSION BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. THEY NEED TO BUY-BACK THESE VEHICLES.
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF A 2015 FORD FOCUS WITH NO ACCIDENTS. AFTER 2 YEARS AND 20,000 MILES THE CAR WOULD OCCASIONALLY SHAKE VIOLENTLY UPON ACCELERATION, WHERE IT WOULD THEN ACCELERATE SLOWER THAN NORMAL AT THAT. I AM GREATLY WORRIED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS, AND THE ENTIRE PUBLIC AS A LOSS OF CONTROL FROM THIS BEHAVIOR COULD CAUSE MULTIPLE FATALITIES AND GREATLY IMPACT MANY FINANCIALLY DUE TO TRAFFIC CAUSED BY AN ACCIDENT, OR EXUBERANT HEALTH AND/OR FUNERAL COSTS. I HAVE HAD THE ISSUE FIXED ONCE UNDER WARRANTY (COSTING ME A DAY OF WORK AS FORD DENIED ME A RENTAL EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE WAS UNEQUIVOCALLY THEIR FAULT), BUT I KNOW THE ISSUE WILL COME BACK SOON AS IT HAS FOR MANY OTHERS. UPON WHICH, I WILL HAVE THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AGAIN AND WILL SELL THE CAR TO AN UNSUSPECTING BUYER WHO MAY BE MORE LIKELY TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AS THEY WILL BE LESS INFORMED ON THE ISSUE WHEN THE PROBLEM OF THE DEFECTIVELY ENGINEERED CAR RISES AGAIN. THIS EXPERIENCE HAS STEERED ME AWAY FROM AMERICAN CARS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES WITH THE 1996 HONDA CIVIC I BOUGHT IN 2008 AND SOLD IN 2015.
WHILE PULLING OUT FROM STOP SIGN ON TWO OCCASIONS THE VEHICLE LOST DRIVE POWER. A WRENCH APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD THAT SAID SERVICE. HAD I HAD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF AN APPROACHING VEHICLE I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AND THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CRASH RESULTING IN INJURY OR DEATH. I BROUGHT THE CAR TO DEALER AND THEY AGREED THE ISSUE WAS A SERIOUS ISSUE HOWEVER SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING SINCE AND ERROR CODE WAS NOT GENERATED. WE ARE STILL TRYING TO GET THIS ISSUE ADDRESSED.

MY CAR JERKS WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE MAYBE TRANSMISSION RELATED . THIS HAS BEEN BEEN HAPPENING SINCE I'VE HAD THE CAR BUT NEVER THOUGHT ANYTHING OF IT UNTIL I DROVE A FRIENDS CAR AND IT DIDN'T DO IT
CAR BUCKS, LUNGES, CUTS OUT, JUMPS GEARS WHEN ACCELERATING...ESPECIALLY FROM A STOP. THIS CAUSES A VERY DANGEROUS HESITATION IN ACCELERATION WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. IT ALSO CAUSES A VIOLENT JOLT TO THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, WHICH IS CAUSING MORE AND MORE RATTLES IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND THE DRIVE TRAIN. THE FORD DEALER REFUSES TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE'S EVEN A PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM STARTED JUST A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING BRAND NEW, AND GETS WORSE WITH TIME. AND INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS THAT THIS PROBLEM IS VERY COMMON.
