I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY ON A MAIN STREET AND THEN THE CAR BEGAN TO VIOLENTLY JERK AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AS IF IT COULDN'T SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF THEN RESTARTED IT WITH NO CHANGE I HAD IT TOWED TO FORD WHERE ITS CURRENTLY GETTING SERVICED WHICH THEY SAID MIGHT NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON OCCURRENCE I ALSO RECENTLY HAD TO HAVE MY PURGE VALVE REPLACE AS WELL THEY SAID THAT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANT I BELIEVE A RECALL IS NECESSARY IN THIS SITUATION IT WAS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY AT HIGH SPEEDS OR THAT TO HAPPEN I HAD THE CAR DIAGNOSED PRIOR TO IT GOING TO FORD AND THE CODE WAS P090C WHICH SAID THE CLUTCH B ACTUATOR CONTROL CIRCUIT LOW AND MY MILAGE IS ABOUT 72,000
CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED ON AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION AFTER 81K MILES
I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY JUST SLOWS DOWN & STOPS ACCELERATING ON ITS OWN. WHEN I STARTED IT BACK UP, THE CAR WOULD RANDOMLY FEEL LIKE ITS GOING INTO 'NEUTRAL' GEAR ON ITS OWN & I AM NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE, SO AGAIN IM SLOWING DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. AFTER ABOUT 2 MINUTES.. IT GOES BACK INTO REGULAR DRIVE ON ITS OWN. SEEMS LIKE SOME SORT OF TRANSMISSION ISSUES. THE MESSAGE ON MY DASHBOARD SAYS 'TRANSMISSION FAULT, SERVICE NOW'. BUT I NEVER STARTED SEEING THIS MESSAGE UNTIL I GOT A DEAD BATTERY REPLACED.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with the clutch actuator, purge valve canister, and purge valve failure which needed to be repaired or replaced. CAR RUNS HOT WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY OR CITY STREETS, DUE TO GEARS STICKING CAUSING TRANSMISSION TO MALFUNCTION AND I MUST TURN OFF CAR TO DISENGAGE FOR 25 MINUTES.
RETURNING HOME WHEN A RED WARNING ABOUT TOTAL POWER STEERING LOSS. COULD NOT STEER THE CAR WHILE GOING ABOUT 25MPH. NARROWLY MISSED PARKED CARS AND EVENTUALLY WENT ONTO THE SIDEWALK WHERE SOME KIDS WERE PLAYING BEFORE I STOPPED. PUSHED THE CAR ONTO THE STREET AND TOWED IT TO MY DRIVEWAY. VERY VERY LUCKY! CANNOT STEER CAR

THE CAR IS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET AND A HIGHWAY AND YOU CAN HEAR A SLIGHT GRINDING SOUND WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED AND THE CAR IS COASTING. THE MECHANIC SAYS THAT IT'S THE CLUTCH BEARING THAT IS FAILING AND THAT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH FORD FOCUS'S HOWEVER THE CAR'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.

FOUND OUT MY VEHICLE HAD 2 PIECE LUG NUTS WHICH ARE DAMAGED WHEN REMOVED AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED WITH ONE PIECE LUG NUTS WHICH ARE $8.00 PER PIECE. AT 5 NUTS PER WHEEL ON 4 WHEELS THAT COMES TO $160.00. CAR WAS IN FOR SERVICE(DAMAGED TIRE).02/12/
THE REAR QUARTER GLASS SEALS HAVE BOTH STARTED LEAKING WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. WATER ENTERS THROUGH THE SEAL LEAK AND ENTERS THE HATCH AND UNDER REAR SEATS. I HAVE VERIFIED THIS IS THE LEAK BY SPRAYING A WATER HOSE ON THE OUTSIDE AND WATCHING IT LEAK PRETTY HEAVILY IN THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE.

MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT WITHOUT GIVING ME WARNING MESSAGES FIRST, THIS HAPPENED LAST WEEK 01/07/21. IT'S READING "STEERING LOSS".
MY VEHICLE STARTED ALL OF THE SUDDEN TO MAKE SOME NOISES AFTER THE ENGINE IS OFF AND THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TURNING ON ON THEIR OWN.WE WERE TOLD THE BATTERY IS LOW , WHICH WE REPLACED BUT THE VEHICLE STILL DOES THE SAME.VEHICLE WAS PARKED WHEN WE FIRST NOTICED.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND MY CAR STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH. TOOK THE CAR TO SAYVILLE GIANT FORD ON 1/6/21 FOR REPAIR UNDER RECALL #18532. I WAS TOLD THE CAR PASSED INSPECTION AND THE REPAIR WAS NOT MADE. TOOK THE CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND INFORMED THAT IT IS A VALVE CAUSING A VAPOR ISSUE IN THE FUEL SYSTEM.
CAR STARTED TRYING TO SHUT OFF RANDOMLY AND ACCELERATED AND DECELERATED, THEN CAR WOULDN'T START WAS TOLD THE CLUTCH WAS STUCK SOUNDS LIKE A RECALL I SAW ONLINE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SARCHIONE FORD LINCOLN OF ALLIANCE (2480 W STATE ST, ALLIANCE, OH 44601) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING CLUTCH AND BEARINGS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V845000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 67,000. CONSUMER STATED WHILE TEST DRIVING CONSUMER NOTICED SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION BECAUSE VEHICLE STARTED JUMPING.*JB
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving or after refueling, the vehicle stalled but was able to be restarted. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer and was diagnosed with error code P1450 (Fuel intake system). The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign number 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle hesitated while depressing the accelerator pedal before jolting forward without warning. The vehicle had been taken to a dealer where a software update was performed; however, the failure persisted. Recently, the contact stated that while driving 30 MPH, the vehicle began to hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal followed by a loud cracking sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was then taken to a dealer, Laird Noller Ford of Lawrence (935 W 23rd St, Lawrence, KS 66046) and it was discovered that the engine mount had cracked due to the excessive slippage of the clutch. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT GEARS NO REVERSE AND WHEN IT FINALLY DID GO INTO DRIVE ONLY 11 MPH
Vehicle hesitates, stutters and stalls when accelerating at any speed. The dealership told us it is either a transmission module or fuel module problem. They don’t have parts to fix it. There’s been a recall and a lawsuit about this same year, make and model, but they tell us our Vin is not included in any of this. it continues to do this to this day. The dealership wants us to drop it off and leave it for 3 to 4 weeks. We can’t be without a car so we are struggling with it. We wrote Ford Motor Company a letter and they told us to contact you. The lawsuit that they lost, gave us an extended warranty, but they refuse to honor it.
I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING A STUCK CANUSTER PURGE VALVE IN THE FUEL TANK. AT THE TIME, (MARCH 2020) THEY USED ONE OF THEIR DEVICES TO DETECT PRESSURE AND NO CODES CAME UP WITH A DETECTION SO THEY DID NOT FIX THE VALVE AND CLOSED MY RECALL. IT IS NOW ONLY 9 MONTHS LATER AND THE SAME VALVE THAT WAS RECALLED IS FAULTY AND HAS CRUSHED MY FUEL TANK AND DEFORMED MY PUMP. THEY HOWEVER, ARE REFUSING TO REOPEN THE RECALL AND FIX THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH IT IS A VERY SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. MY FUEL TANK COULD COMBUST AT ANY TIME BECAUSE IT ISNT ABLE TO RELEASE PRESSURE PROPERLY AND THIS ALL DUE TO THEIR FAULTY VALVE INVOLVED IN RECALL #: 18V735000 IS THERE ANYTHING YOU GUYS CAN DO ON YOUR WND TO HELP ME FIGHT THIS?
VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY MECHANIC TO HAVE MALFUNCTIONING CANISTER PURGE VALVE THAT IS STUCK IN AN OPEN POSITION, IDENTICAL TO CURRENT RECALL #18V735000 FOR CERTAIN 2012-2018 FORD FOCUS VEHICLES WITH A 2.0L GDI OR 2.0L GTDI ENGINE. MY VEHICLE STALLS AFTER I REFUEL FOR ABOUT A MINUTE; I HAVE TO REPEATEDLY START AND STOP MY ENGINE UNTIL IT STAYS ON, AND THE ENGINE RUMBLES EXCESSIVELY FOR A COUPLE MINUTES AFTER BEING ABLE TO DRIVE AFTER REFUELING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON FOR CODE #P0441.
CAR WOULD NOT START, BATTERY TESTED FINE. THE CAR GAVE A MSG OF TRANSMISSION FAULT. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. AFTER THE FIRST TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER. THEY RAN TEST NOT FINDING ANYTHING WRONG. LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT NIGHT LIGHTS AND GAGES FLICKER SAME MSG. BUT SOMETHING SEEMED TO ARCH UNDER THE HOOD
MY 2016 FORD FOCUS ST HAS SEVERE STALLING PROBLEMS. I HAVE NOT HAD THIS CAR FOR TWO MONTHS AND THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IT STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT ABOUT 60MPH.AND WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CAR TO BE DRIVING IN. ME OR MY LOVED ONES COULD GET KILLED. HOPE SOMEONE WILL READ THIS AND HELP SOME KIND OF WAY. THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE IN THE CAR FOR SHUDDERING AND SHIFTING HARD, NOW IT IS DOING IT A THIRD TIME AND WE HAVE BEEN TOLD ITS JUST OUT OF THE 1 YEAR WARRANTY OF THE 2ND CLUTCH ASSEMBLY INSTALLED AND WE DON'T QUALIFY FOR THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND SHUDDERS SO BAD WHEN ACCELERATING THAT IT SHAKES THE WHOLE CAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WE CAN REPLACE THE CLUTCH AGAIN FOR 1500.00 OUR COST...WHY WOULD WE PAY WHEN ITS BEEN REPLACED TWICE SINCE WE PURCHASED THE CAR IN 2017. WHEN ACCELERATING AT A STOPLIGHT THE CAR STUTTERS AND TRIES TO SHUT DOWN GOING INTO NEUTRAL...THIS CAUSED SOMEONE TO ALMOST HIT OUR DAUGHTER. THIS HAPPENED WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT ON A BUSY ROADWAY. I AM NOW FEARFUL OF IT HAPPENING AGAIN.

The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and the vehicle was coasted to the side of the road, and then towed to a certified mechanic. The contact believed that the mechanic had diagnosed a failure within the transmission and had completed a repair to the transmission; however, the contact was unaware of what parts were replaced. The contact stated that after the vehicle was repaired, the vehicle started hesitating and there was an abnormal revving noise coming from the engine compartment while accelerating. The contact would depress the accelerator a second time to accelerate as intended. The failure was intermittent. The message that the engine was overheating was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who determined that the fuel pump had failed. The contact was informed that the vehicle was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The recall repair was completed, and the fuel pump was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed a failure with the water pump and the water pump was replaced. The mechanic was unable to determine the cause of the transmission failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer had referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 47,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR BY A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE TRANSMISSION MODULE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN REPLACED, AS WELL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER HALF A TANK PF FUEL AND BEGAM TO SPUTTER AND JOLT AMD DIES. IT STARTED BUT CRANKED LONG AND HARD. THIS HAPPENS WHENEVER THE FUEL IS AT HALF OR BELOW. I SEARCHED MY VIN IT SAYS THE FUEL RSCALL ISN'T A ISSUE BIT ITS DOING EXACTLY THAT.
MY CAR CONTINUALLY SHUTS OFF WHILE DRIVING, FORD ACKNOWLEDGES THE RECALL BUT REFUSES TO PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE CLAIMING THE PART ISN'T READY. THE CAR WILL TURN OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF A HIGHWAY, OR AT A LIGHT WITH NO WARNING. FORD IS TELLING US THAT THEY CAN'T HELP US BUT IT ISN'T SAFE TO DRIVE OUR CAR AND NOBODY HAS HELPED US. THIS STARTED IN AUGUST AND CONTINUES TO NEARLY DAILY

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE FRONT OF THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE IMPACTED THE RIGHT REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE WITH THE FRONT LEFT AND STATED THAT THE WHOLE FRONT SHEARED OFF, CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO GO INTO A SPIN. THE VEHICLE IMPACTED A STREET SIGN. AND SIX UNIT MAILBOX STATION WHICH CAUSES THE STREET SING TO COME THRU THE REAR WINDOW OF THE VEHICLE BROKEN THE GLASS. The contact had the vehicle towed to the dealer where they diagnosed the vehicle with engine failure. The contact had the engine replaced. A year later as her son was driving 65 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact's son added antifreeze to the reservoir and drove the vehicle home. Once the vehicle was home, the vehicle would not restart. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with engine failure for a second time. The contact called the dealer and was informed that the engine would be covered under warranty. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a case was filed. The vehicle was not repaired. CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY AND HAS GIVEN NO INDICATION OF ENGINE PROBLEMS. WAS QUOTED $4500 AT FIRST FORD DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR CAR WITH A USED MOTOR WITH EQUAL MILEAGE. 2ND FORD DEALERSHIP QUOTED $3700 WITH REBUILT MOTOR. HAS BEEN LOOKED OVER BY 2 MECHANICS INCLUDING FORDS AND OTHER THAN READING DIAGNOSTICS NOBODY CAN PROVIDE A REASON THE OIL PRESSURE DROPPED OR WHY THE CAR DOWNSHIFTED INTO 4TH GEAR UPING THE RPM'S CAUSING ENGINE PROBLEMS. THEY SAID THERE IS NO OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR AT THIS POINT OTHER THAN THE ENGINE. VERY NO SMART TO REPLACE AN ENGINE WITHOUT KNOWING THE WHAT CAUSED THE INITIAL ONE TO FAIL.

AFTER MY FRIEND CAME TO HELP ME PUSH IT OUT OF ROAD, HE GOT IT IN PARK, RESTARTED AND GOT CAR STARTING AGAIN.... WE TOOK THE CAR TO OUR FAMILY MECHANIC AND HE TOOK A LOOK AT IT. HE WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME A LOT FOR THE PART NEEDED TO GET FIXED. WHICH BROUGHT ME TO GO SEE IF I CAN FIND A PART FOR CHEAPER OR A MECHANIC FOR CHEAPER. THAT'S WHEN I DISCOVERED ABOUT THIS VIN AND CAR RECALL.

MY VEHICLE'S MAKE/MODEL/YEAR (2016 FORD FOCUS) HAS A REPORTED RECALL FOR A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD INVOLVING THE POWERSHIFT DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION. ONLINE, IT STATES THAT MODEL YEARS 2012-2016 FORD FOCUS VEHICLES HAVE THIS ISSUE. THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION IS CONSIDERED A MANUAL TRANSMISSION THAT IS CONTROLLED ELECTRONICALLY BY A COMPUTER WHILE USING A DRY CLUTCH RATHER THAN A WET ONE, MEANING OIL IS NOT SUPPLIED TO THE SHIFTING MECHANISM AND CAN RESULT IN INCREASED WEAR AND TEAR THE LONGER THE ISSUE PERSISTS. WHEN THE COMPUTER MODULE THAT OPERATES THE TRANSMISSION CAN'T HANDLE RAPID ACCELERATION OR SPEED SHIFTING, THE VEHICLE WILL SPUTTER AND MAKE AN AUDIBLE NOISE. OTHER ISSUES THAT CAN BE CAUSED ARE PROBLEMS WITH DOWNSHIFTING, LEAVING THE VEHICLE IN A HIGHER GEAR DESPITE DECELERATION AND CAUSE IT TO "LURCH". THE MAIN SAFETY HAZARD THIS ISSUE CAUSES IS WHEN ACCELERATING QUICKLY INTO AN INTERSECTION, THE DELAY PREVENTS THE VEHICLE FROM REACHING THE SAME SPEED A VEHICLE SHOULD ACHIEVE WITH AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IN TERMS OF DECELERATION, THE CAR'S INABILITY TO CORRECTLY DOWNSHIFT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LUNGE FORWARD, DESPITE THE BRAKES BEING APPLIED.
VEHICLE EXPERIENCES A HEAVY SHUDDER WHEN ACCELERATING. IT WILL ALSO JUMP FORWARD WHEN CHANGING GEARS. NEVER RECEIVED UPDATES, RECALL OR SAFETY NOTICES FROM FORD. CALLED DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND WAS TOLD IT'S HOW THE CAR DRIVES. TIME GOES ON AND THE PROBLEM GETS WORSE. I BRING IT INTO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TELL ME MY CLUTCH IS CHANGING AT 500RPM AS OPPOSED TO 250 RPM. MY MILEAGE WAS 60,200 WHEN I ARRIVED. THEY TOLD ME THEY WILL NOT COVER THIS COST EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM STARTED WELL BEFORE THE WARRANTY. ESTIMATED REPAIR IS $2,400 ON A CAR I OWE $9,000 ON. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL OR UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
