CLUTCH PEDAL STUCK TO THE FLOOR AT INTERSECTION WHILE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AND READY TO ENGAGE FIRST GEAR TO GO. ANOTHER DRIVER HELPED ME PUSH MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. KEPT PUSHING CLUTCH BUT IT WOULD NOT COME BACK TO REGULAR POSITION. I WAS ABLE WITH MY HAND AFTER GETTING OUT IF THE CAR TO PULL THE CLUTCH PEDAL FORWARD AND IT WORKED AFTER THAT.
I'VE BOUGHT A USED 2016 FOCUS SE AT A FORD DEALERSHIP ABOUT A YEAR OR 2 AGO. THE CAR ALREADY AT 50,000 MILES ON IT, I HAD IT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS BEFORE THE ENGINE STARTED STUTTERING VERY BADLY DURING SHIFTS SO I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY HAD MY CLUTCH REPLACED. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT 72,000 MILES AND THE STUTTERING DURING SHIFTS STARTED UP AGAIN.
WE WERE DRIVING APPX 57 MPH ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY, WHEN AN INFORMATION WARMING CAME ON SAYING STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED AND MY BOYFRIEND SAID ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING GOT EXTREMELY HARD. HE MANAGED TO STEER IT HOME AND WE READ THE MANUAL ABOUT IT, THEN TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR ABOUT AN HOUR LATER AND IT WAS OK AT FIRST THEN ABOUT W MINUTES LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. SO WE HAD IT TOWED IN. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THE BATTERY HAD TO BE CHARGED BECAUSE IT WAS LOW.
FIRST PROBLEM WERE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING VERY HARD AND ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE WHEN TRYING TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. DEALER RECODED THE TRANSMISSION. CAR IS NOW STILL SHIFTING VERY HARD, SOMETIMES THE RPMS WILL HIT 4,000+ BEFORE IT WILL HARD DOWNSHIFT. OTHER TIME I HAVE HAD TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE TO GET THE RPMS DOWN. ALSO WHILE ON CRUISE CONTROL THE RPMS WILL ALSO REV TO 4,000 WHEN TRYING TO SLOW DOWN. ON A RECENT TRIP WHEN I CANCELLED THE CRUISE CONTROL THE CAR ACTUALLY SPED UP ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. CAR CONTINUES TO SHIFT HARD AND WHAT OTHER PEOPLE IN THE CAR HAVE DESCRIBED AS THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW. DEALER ALWAYS SAYS THEY HAVE NOT HEARD ANYONE ELSE COMPLAIN ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION WHICH IS FUNNY SINCE I GET CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT MAIL ABOUT EVERY OTHER WEEK ABOUT IT.
WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC DUE TO AN ACCIDENT FOR 40 MINS. AT ONE POINT MY CLUTCH PEDAL GOT STUCK DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND WOULD NOT COME BACK UP YET THE CLUTCH WAS STILL ENGAGED AND BURNING. THE BURNING SMELL SO SO BAD. I MANAGED TO REACH DOWN AND PULL THE CLUTCH PEDAL UP WITH MY HAND. ONCE I DID THAT I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT IN FIRST AND DRIVE.
FROM A STOP, TRANSMISSION HESITATES WHILE SHIFTING THROUGH THE LOWER GEARS. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, I GET A SHUDDERING IN THE VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T STOP UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS AGAIN. VEHICLE HAS 35,000 MILES ON IT.
WHEN REVERSING CAR OUT OF PARKING SPOTS CAR HESITATES. CAR HESITATES WHILE DRIVING. CAR STOPS IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. CAR SHUDDERS AND HESITATES TO PICK UP SPEED. CAR SOMETIMES WILL NOT PICK UP SPEED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO PICK UP MY CAR THREE TIMES FROM FORD AUTO BODY SHOP THIS WEEK AND TOOK IT BACK WITHIN MINUTES AFTER BECAUSE IT IS NOT WORKING STILL. THEY REPLACED MY CLUTCH TWICE AND OTHER PARTS INSIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the Manufacturer’s Extended Warranty coverage for the powertrain. The vehicle was not repaired. MY GIRL FRIEND ,AGE 72 WAS DRIVING THE FORD FOCUS AND TURNING INTO HER APT. COMPLEX, SHE WAS HIT AT ABOUT A 35 DEGREE ANGLE AND ALTHOUGH THE LOWER AIR BAG ON THE STEERING COLUMN DEPLAYED THE AIR BAG ON THE TOP OF THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT. THE CAR WAS TOTALLED.THE SEAT BELT SAVED HER FROM SERIOUS INJURY, BUT HER CLAVICLE WAS BRUISED AND SHE HAS SORE MUSCLES ON HER NECK AND THE LEFT SIDE OF HER BODY. THE LOWER AIR BAG THAT DID DEPLOY SAVED HER FROM SERIOUS LOWER BODY INJURY EXCEPT FOR SOME SWELLING AND BRUISING. HER VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN SHE WAS HIT BY A TRUCK COMING FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION. MY CONCERN IS SHOULD THAT UPPER AIR BAG DEPLOYED THE SAME AS THE LOWER AIR BAG DID. IS IT POSSIBLE THE UPPER AIR BAG WAS DEFECTIVE,AND HAS ANYONE ELSE REPORTED THIS?
THE CARS STEERING HAS ON 3 OCCASIONS IN 2 MONTHS LOST STEERING! THE STEERING WHEEL SHUDDERS AND LOCKS UP AND WE LOSE CONTROL ON A TURN! THIS HAS HAPPENED AT 30 MILES PER HOUR AND AT 5 MILES . IT'S BEEN TO FORD 4 TIMES THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH CHANGED TWICE A NEW MOTOR MOUNT BUT THEY KEEP STATING IF THERE IS NO CODE AND IT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN FRONT OF THEM THERE ISN'T ANYTHING TO FIX. I ALSO NOTIFIED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND RECEIVED A CASE NUMBER BUT THEY DENIED THE CLAIM!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FOCUS. WHEN INITIALLY STARTING THE VEHICLE, IT FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND MADE A NOISE AS IF IT WERE FORCING THE ENGINE TO GO INTO GEAR. WHEN THE VEHICLE REACHED 40 MPH, IT DROVE SMOOTHLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWELVE DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000....UPDATED 12/11/17 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE. THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED THE FAILURE RECURRED. SOMETIME WHILE ACCELERATING THE CAR WILL RANDOMLY GO FROM 2K RPM TO OVER 6K RPM BUT YOU CANT HERE THE ENGINE AND IT LOSES POWER AND STARTS TO JERK VIOLENTLY. ONCE YOU RELEASE GAS AND THE RPM'S GO BACK DOWN TO 2K THEN YOU CAN TRY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. I THOUGHT THIS ISSUE WAS JUST BECAUSE IT WAS COLD THE 1ST TIME IT HAPPENED BUT NOW IT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY. I'VE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR LITTLE UNDER A YEAR AND IT HAS LESS THEN 20K MILES ON IT.
JUST FILLED MY GAS TANK UP THEN AS I LEFT THE GAS STATION GOT ABOUT 1 MILE UP THE ROAD THEN WHILE SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT I TURNED THE AC ON AND IDLE DIPPED, CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS GOING TO DIE(WHICH IT DID) THEN AS I TRIED TO RE-START, CEL CAME ON AND CAR WOULD NOT START. ABOUT 2 MORE TIMES AND IT FIRED UP ALONG WITH A SERVICE ENGINE SOON MESSAGE ... LUCKILY FOR ME I WAS A BLOCK AWAY FROM FUTURE FORD LINCOLN WHERE I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. 3 DAYS LATER I GOT A CALL SAYING MY VEHICLE WAS READY FOR PICK UP. I GET THERE AND THEY TELL ME THAT THE REASON WAS DUE TO I HAD A AFTERMARKET POWER WIRE ROUTED OVER ENGINE ASSEMBLY CAUSING ELECTRICAL INTERFERENCE. SO THEY DISCONNECTED WHAT I PAYED A LOCAL PROFESSIONAL AUDIO SHOP $140 TO INSTALL 2 DAYS AFTER I GOT THE CAR. SO, LONG STORY SHORT, I GET IN THE VEHICLE ONLY TO SEE THAT MY FILL UP @ THE GAS STATION WAS GONE... THEY USED [XXX] NEAR 3/4 OF MY TANK OF GAS PUT OVER 100 MILES ON MY CAR AND I GET 2 BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE DEALER AND AT THE SAME LIGHT..... **** HAPPENS AGAIN!!!! TOOK IT RIGHT BACK TO THE DEALER. JUST GOT MY CAR BACK AFTER 13 DAYS IN THE SHOP AND I COULDN'T BE MORE PISSED! 4TH TIME I HAVE GONE TO PICK IT UP AFTER HEARING THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM ONLY TO GET IN THE CAR, DRIVE IT, AND HAVE IT HAPPEN YET ANOTHER TIME! THEY EVEN TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS MY RIGHT FRONT AXLE CAUSING THE PROBLEM THIS TIME AROUND. ( I JUST HAD THE LEFT FRONT AXLE REPLACED 2 MONTHS BACK AT ANOTHER DEALER) THROWING GREASE ON A CRANK SENSOR CAUSING MY CEL WITH DTC "P0106, P0236, P0340, P0344,P0365, P051B, P0532, P06A7, P08A9, P08B9" ...BLA BLA BLA... THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT THEY KEEP WANTING TO TELL ME THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM! WHAT A WAIST OF BOTH OUR TIME. NOW THE CAR IS IN MY DRIVEWAY, WONT START, THROWING ABOUT 8 TO 12 CODES AND IM WAITING TO HEAR FROM FORD CUSTOMER CARE. OUR FORD FOCUS STALLED AND COULD NOT RESTART. THE CAR WAS ABLE TO START UP WITH NO PROBLEM, RUN FOR A FEW MINUTES BUT STALLED WHEN DRIVING. THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE WOULD NOT TURN OVER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE CAR. CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN THE DAY BEFORE FOR WELL OVER AN HOUR WITHOUT ISSUE. NO ERROR CODE IS RETURNED TO THE TECHNICIAN WHEN RUNS A DIAGNOSTIC ON THE VEHICLE.
AT 26000 MILES MY HEAD GASKET HAD TO BE REPLACED. STARTED WITH ROUGH MORNING START WHITE SMOKE AND LOSS OF COOLANT. LEAK WAS CONFIRMED IN CYLINDER 3. THE CAR IS STOCK WITH NO MODIFICATIONS.
POOR PERFORMANCE OF AUTO TRANSMISSION ON 2016 FORD FOCUS TITANIUM INVOLVES HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING, "CHATTERING" WHEN ACCELERATING, "SLIDING" INTO GEAR WHEN SHIFTING, SLIPPING WHEN SHIFTING. CLUTCH REPLACED ONCE. GOING IN AGAIN WITH SAME SYMPTOMS.
MY 2016 AND MY 2015 FORD FOCUS HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THEY WILL NOT HOLD A HILL AND THEN START TO ROLL BACKWARDS IF IN DRIVE AND WAITING AT A LIGHT. THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP IN LEFT OR RIGHT TURNS AND WILL ALSO HAVE CLUTCH ENGAGING PROBLEMS. BOTH VEHICLES HAS BEEN A VERY TROUBLESOME VEHICLE WHEN IT COMES TO BEING ABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD. I DO NOT TRUST THEM WHEN MAKING A LEFT TURN WHEN TRAFFIC IS COMING BECAUSE OF THE SLIPPAGE MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO BE SAFE.

THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CHAPMAN FORD (6744 BLACK HORSE PIKE, EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED AT 18,000 MILES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED A SECOND TIME AT 53,000 MILES. RECENTLY, THE FAILURE RECURRED AT 79,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. IN ADDITION, AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM), THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO THE ENGINE STALLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE PURGE VALVE WAS REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.
The coolant/antifreeze tank melts upon the returning coolant/antifreeze where the return line meets the tank due to the high temperature of the coolant/antifreeze and causes the coolant/antifreeze to spill onto the engine. This led to a high engine temperature increase warning and immediately made the vehicle to stall to prevent overheating of the engine. I already replaced the old tank with a new one. Also, the rear passenger seat belt began to fray and it makes it almost impossible to buckle up.
VEHICLE STALLS EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. IT'S ALMOST AS IF IT STUTTERS OR DRAGS AND THEN FINALLY TAKES OFF. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME I DRIVE.
WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, THE POWER STEERING FAILS WITHOUT WARNING. THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD ILLUMINATES AND BEEPS S (DRIVER ASSIST FAILURE TAKE IN IMMEDIATE FOR SERVICE). THE CAR IS IS STILL MOVING. THE ENGINE IS RUNNING. THE STEERING WHEEL IS TIGHT AND HARD TO TURN. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPEN, I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PUT MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS ON AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION TO THE PARKING LOT. WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING. THE SECOND TIME THE POWER STEERING FAILED, I WAS IN THE CENTER LANE. DRIVING 35 TO 40 MPH. TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND MOVING AT A STEADY PACE. THE DASH BOARD LIGHT CAME ON AND THE SYSTEM BEEPED. ( DRIVER ASSIST FAILURE TAKE IN IMMEDIATE FOR SERVICE) I WAS NOT AT A RED LIGHT THIS TIME . I TURNED ON MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND REDUCED MY SPEED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED. I WAITED ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. I DROVE IMMEDIATELY TO DEALERSHIP AND THE CAR IS IN FOR SERVICE . MY FIRST CAR PAYMENT IS NOT DUE. THIS IS A PRE OWNED CERTIFIED FORD FOCUS 2016. I WOULD LIKE FOR FORD TO REPURCHASE THIS CAR.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-392-3673 AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NORMAL. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THERE IS A HUGE ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS CARS. THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS, JUGS, VIBRATE REALLY BAD AND GRINDS TO THE POINT IS FRUSTRATING AND A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE GOING THRU THIS. FORD SAYS THERE IS NOTHING TO DO ABOUT IT. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A GOOD WORKING TRANSMISSION ON MY CAR. THIS CAR IS ONLY 18 MILES AND I DONT EVEN USE IT THAT MUCH AS EVERY TIME GETS WORST. MY CAR SOMETIMES REFUSES TO ACCELERATE WHEN TAKING OFF. I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM FORD BUT THE DEALER REFUSES TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. CLAIMS IT IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE RECALL LIST.
TRANSMISSION SLIPS
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated while accelerating from a stationary position, the vehicle experienced severe jerking, vibrations, and hesitation. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the transmission clutch but later the failure reoccurred. Additionally, the engine overheated and the vehicle stalled. Upon inspection, it was discovered that there was no coolant inside the coolant reservoir. The contact stated that no visual evidence of a coolant leak could be found. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 10,000.

MY CAR SHUDDERS AND JERKS WHILE TAKING OFF OR AT LOW SPEEDS, I HAVE PUT IT IN THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES WITH FORD. THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH THE FIRST TIME AND EVERY TIME SINCE TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, THIS IS JUST THE WAY THE TRANSMISSION FOR THESE MODELS PERFORMS. THEY OFFERED TO TRADE IN MY VEHICLE BUT WAS ONLY OFFERING BELOW KBB VALUE DUE TO THE ISSUES WITH SHUDDERING AND JERKING.

I'VE HAD TO HAVE THE CLUTCH REPLACED ONCE, AND MANY OTHER THINGS, AND THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT'S READY FOR ANOTHER CLUTCH SOON. IT'S AN AUTOMATIC BUT GRINDS WHEN CHANGING GEARS. ALSO, THE CAR IS GETTING 15 MILES PER HOUR CITY AND HIGHWAY DRIVING. THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO BE A ECONOMY CAR/FLEX FUEL. IT'S NOT, IT'S A LEMON.

BOTH HATCH STRUTS FAILED WITHIN 1 YEAR OF PURCHASING THE CAR NEW FROM DEALER. STRUTS FAILED WITHOUT WARNING AND HATCH DROPPED ON HEAD. AFTER STRUT FAILURE, THE HATCH WAS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AS IT WOULD SLAM SHUT IN A WAY THAT WOULD EASILY TAKE OFF A FINGER OR A HAND.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO ENCINITAS FORD 1424 ENCINITAS BLVD, ENCINITAS, CA 92024. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT SHOULD SPEAK TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
I PURCHASED A 2016 FORD FOCUS WITH 7 MILES ON IT IN MARCH 2017. IN MAY 2017, AT ROUGHLY 4,000 MILES, THE CARS TRANSMISSION WENT OUT, STRANDING ME IN MISSOURI ON A ROAD TRIP. A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND SAID "STOP CAR NOW, TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING". SINCE THAT TIME, THE CAR HAS HAD 2 NEW TRANSMISSIONS, AND 5-6 NEW CLUTCHES. EACH TIME, IT IS REPLACED BECAUSE THE CAR STUDDERS AND DOES NOT WANT TO ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS AT SLOW SPEEDS, BUT ON A HANDFUL OF OCCASIONS IT HAS DONE IT AT HIGHWAY SPEED. IT HAS ALSO FAILED TO ENGAGE WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS, AND THEN RANDOMLY ENGAGES AND SENDS MY CAR (AND ME) FLYING INTO AN INTERSECTION WITH NO WARNING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE NEW CLUTCH HAS TO "WARM UP" TO THE WAY I DRIVE WHEN IT SHUDDERS IMMEDIATELY AFTER REPLACING THE CLUTCH, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IT WAS JUST THE WAY THE CAR DRIVES, ETC. THE ATTACHED FILE IS FROM THE FIRST REPAIR. I HAVE SEVERAL MORE.

HAD 2009 FOCUS PREVIOUSLY SO OPTED TO UPGRADE. SORRY WE DID, EMBARRASSED TO TAKE ANYONE WITH US AS IT DOES NOT RIDE SMOOTH ON STARTING FROM A STOP. JERKS LIKE SOMEONE TRYING TO LEARN TO SHIFT AND NOT DOING CLUTCH RIGHT. LOVE THE LOOKS OF THE CAR, BUT NEVER TAKE ANYONE WITH AND LEERY TO TAKE IT ON A LENGTHY TRIP AS I AM NOT SURE IF SOMETHING WILL HAPPEN. THE DEALER SAID THEY HAD MANY COMPLAINTS BUT NOTHING THEY COULD DO IT WAS WITHIN RANGE. TOOK TO ANOTHER DEALER AND MECHANIC CONFIRMED THEY TOO HAD COMPLAINTS ABOUT IT. SOMETHING ABOUT NOT HAVING A TORQUE CONVERTER OR SOMETHING. TOOK BACK TO WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK, THEY ARE GOING TO HOOK SOMETHING UP AND DRIVE A WHILE AND SAID IT MAY NEED NEW CLUTCH. I SAY IF THERE ARE ONGOING COMPLAINTS AND MANY OTHERS HAVE SAME ISSUE, THEY NEED TO FIX IT WHEN IT IS IN FOR SERVICE; NOT WAIT FOR A RECALL. AT TIMES WHEN STARTING OFF THERE IS A SEVERE HESITATION. WE HAVE TO KEEP THE FUEL TANK MORE THAN HALF FULL AT ALL TIMES. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD BUT THEY STATED OUR VIN WASN'T LISTED ON THE RECALL SO THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT.

I JUST GOT DONE READING AN ARTICLE I FOUND ON FOX NEW, WHERE IT STATES THAT THERE IS AN INVESTIGATION BY GOVERNMENT AGENCIES INTO THE ISSUE OF FORD KNOWING ABOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF A DEFECTIVE OR PROBLEMATIC TRANSMISSION.

AFTER PURCHASING THIS CAR ON 3/7/2017 WITH 1,909 MILES ON IT. I NOTICED EXTENSIVE BODY DAMAGE THE NEXT MORNING WHICH WAS UNBEKNOWNST TO ME SINCE I PURCHASED IT IN THE EVENING TIME. I NOTIFIED MY DEALER ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT WERE AWARE OF THE PRE EXISTING DAMAGES! I WAS THEN INSTRUCTED TO BRING IT IN FOR REPAIRS AND WAS EVEN CHARGED FOR THE COST OF THE RENTAL COVERAGE! MY VEHICLE BEGAN GIVING ME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ON 4/19/2017, IT HESITATES TO ACCELERATE WHILE IN MOTION AND WHEN IT FINALLY GETS TO THE SPEED I DESIRE IT JERKS AT TAKE OFF. ALSO, WHEN I START THE ENGINE IT MAKES A LOUD POPPING SOUND FROM THE EXHAUST PIPES, I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE ON 4/24/17 AND ONCE IT WAS RELEASED TO ME IT WAS MAKING THE SAME NOISES THE VERY NEXT MORNING. A SERVICE ADVISOR FROM THE DEALERSHIP EXPLAINED TO ME THAT MY VEHICLE HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES.

BOUGHT NEW ON 12/25/2015. STARTED HESITATING STARTING OFF, SKIPPING LIKE SPINNING TIRES.GOT WORSE AND LIKE GOING OVER STRIPS IN THE ROAD. AKIN REPLACED THE COMPUTER AND THE CLUTCH 9/2016. DID FINE THEN STARTED AGAIN. HAD IT CHECKED AND COULD NOT MAKE IT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM (01/2017). JUST THIS WEEK (04/06/2017 IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN, AND QUICKLY INCREASED HAPPENING. 04/07/2017 WAS SO BAD IT WOULD NOT CHANGE FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AND NOW HAS A SCRATCHING/RATTLING NOISE. CALLED DEALER AND SERVICE DEPT. SAYS TO CALL IN THE MORNING AND SET APPT. TO BRING IN. HAD HUSBAND RIDING THIS TIME AND IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. ALSO HAS A SLIGHT DROP OR HESITATION WHILE DRIVING AS IT SEEMS TO BE DROPPING BACK IN POWER AND THEN PICKS BACK UP. VERY DANGEROUS AND SCARY. LEAVING YOU WITH A DELAY TO ACCELERATE WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY & SOMEWHAT OF A STALL OUT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN INTO TRAFFIC. IT SOUNDS AS IF THE ENGINE/TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO DROP OUT OF THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT FEELS AS IF SOMEONE IS PLAYING TUG OF WAR & CAN'T HOLD ONTO THE ROPE WHEN IT IS SHIFTING GEARS; SO IT FEELS LIKE IT WILL FALL OUT OF OR NOT CHANGE GEARS. I WAS TOLD THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BY THE SELLER AT DAVID IRWIN FORD IN TYLER, TX.
CAR WAS DRIVING FINE IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PROPERLY. ACCELERATOR WAS PUSH TO THE FLOOR, RPM'S WENT UP TO 6,000, CAR WAS JERKY. AT 6,000 RPM THE CAR WOULDN'T GO FASTER THAN 40 MILES PER HOUR. SPEED LIMIT WAS 50. THERE WAS NO WARNING AND NO DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED 2 TIMES ON THIS VEHICLE, ONCE IN OCTOBER 2016 AND ONCE ON APRIL 1, 2017. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER. THEY STATED IT WAS A COMPUTER PROBLEM AND REPROGRAMED MY CAR. IN BETWEEN THE TWO INCIDENTS, I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY DATED FEBRUARY 2017. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE CAR "MAY EXHIBIT SYMPTOMS OF INTERMITTENT LOSS OF TRANSMISSION ENGAGEMENT WHILE DRIVING, NO-START, OR LACK OF POWER, USUALLY ACCOMPANIED BY AN ILLUMINATED SERVICE ENGINE SOON ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER." THE LETTER AUTHORIZES REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE, BUT IT IS THE OPINION OF THE DEALER AND FORD MOTOR CO. THAT THEY HAVE TO SEE THE PROBLEM IN ACTION FOR THEM TO REPLACE IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND HAS A HIGH PROBABILITY OF CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. I AM NOT CONFIDENT THAT THEY WILL FIX THE PROBLEM.
