TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE TO 25 MPH. THE FAILURE OCCURRED DURING ACCELERATION AND CRUISING. AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONSUMER PULLED OVER AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE; HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OCCASIONALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TWICE AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE GAS TANK AND RELATED COMPONENTS; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO FURTHER DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000. UPDATED 03/04/2008. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED, BUT SHE STILL FEELS IS UNSAFE. UPDATED
I HAVE ABOUT 30,000 MILES ON MY CAR. DUE TO A LEAK AT MY OIL FILTER (INFO PROVIDED BY DEALER) MY OIL LEVEL GOT TOO LOW. MY OIL LIGHT FLASHED ON TWICE BUT DID NOT REMAIN ON. I CHECKED AND ADDED OIL. I DROVE IT INTO THE DEALER TWO DAYS LATER. THEY RAN TESTS AND SAID MY BEARINGS WERE BAD AND I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NEVER CAME ON AND MY OIL LIGHT NEVER STAYED ON. BECAUSE I HAVE NO RECEIPTS FROM MY OIL CHANGES THIS WILL NOT BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. *TR
2006 FORD FUSION I-4 MANUAL TRANSMISSION CLUTCH FAILED ON FREEWAY EXIT RAMP. VEHICLE WAS UNDRIVABLE AND OBSTRUCTED RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THERE WAS ONLY 18,804 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE KEYS WOULD NOT REMOVE FROM THE IGNITION AFTER THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT IT WAS A COMMON FAILURE WITH THE FORD FOCUS MODELS. THE CONTACT MUST PAY $89.00 FOR THE DEALER TO PERFORM A DIAGNOSTIC. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 38,556 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,500.
TAKATA RECALLED AIRBAG
I PURCHASED A 2006 FORD FUSION SEL V6 SEPT. 30, 2006. AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR FROM THE DEALER FROM A PREVIOUS FIX ON AN ENGINE SOUND THAT THEY NEVER FIX OR HAVE FIX BY NOW. THE LUMBAR SUPPORT BROKE WITHOUT NOTICED. IT BROKE IN AN INSTANT. I TRIED TO GET IT FIX UNDER WARRANTY BUT FORD AND THE DEALER DENIED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY EVEN SUED ME IN COURT FOR TRYING TO GET MY CAR FIX. BUT I WON THE CASE, AND NOW THEY SAY THAT THEY WILL FIX MY CAR PROBLEM. THAT COULD BE A PROBLEM IF YOU ARE DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY THE LUMBAR BRAKE WITHOUT NOTICED. *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING HIS 2006 FORD FUSION (8500 CURRENT MILEAGE) HE NOTICED THAT THE ICON ON THE DASH BOARD STATED THAT THE TRUNK WAS OPENED. HE THEN PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND CLOSED THE TRUNK. THE CONTACT'S COMPLAINT IS THAT THE TRUNK LOCK BUTTON WAS NOT IN A GOOD POSITION, AND HE FELT THAT IT WAS UNSAFE. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN CONTACTED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,400.
I ALMOST KILLED IN A NEAR FATAL COLLISION ON JANUARY 15, 2007. I WAS IN A 2006 FORD FUSION SEL WITH FRONT AND SIDE AIRBAGS. MY CAR WAS DEMOLISHED AND BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD I SURVIVED DESPITE MY FAILED AIRBAGS. I INFORMED FORD AS YOU CAN SEE THEY STARTED TO DEPLOY AND STICK OUT A LITTLE. THE PHOTOS PROVE THEY FAILED. FORD IS MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW THROUGH AND I HAVE THE CAR BEING HELD SO IT CAN BE INSPECTED. I AM AFRAID THEY ARE DEFECTIVE AND WILL RESULT IN THE DEATH OF SOMEONE. I WAS FLOWN BY HELICOPTER WITH SEVERE HEAD INJURIES AND FROM THE PICTURES, YOU CAN SEE THE BLOOD SPOT WHERE MY HEAD CRACKED THE SIDE PANEL DIRECTLY BELOW WHERE THE AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE COME OUT. THE IMPACT ZONES ON THE CAR ARE WITH OUT QUESTION WORTHY OF MAKING THE AIRBAG DEPLOY. PLEASE CONTACT ME, AS I AM TIRED OF TRYING TO WORK WITH FORD BECAUSE OF MY CONCERN FOR THE LIVES OF OTHERS, AND ALL THEY WANT TO DO IS BE OBSTRUCTIVE. *JB
THE LOMBARD SUPPORT BAND IN THE DRIVER SEAT FRACTURED WITHOUT ANY KIND OF WARNING. I WILL NEED TO USE FORD WARRANTY FOR. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARALLEL PARKING AT 1 MPH, THE REAR PASSENGER WHEEL RUBBED THE CURB, AND THE ALUMINUM CASTING ON THE RIM FLAKED OFF, WHICH DAMAGED THE TIRE. THE SERVICE DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND DETERMINED THAT A SMALLER RIM COULD NOT BE USED TO REPLACE THE WHEEL. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED CONCERN THAT CURBS WERE 6-7 INCHES HIGH, AND SCRAPING A CURB COULD DAMAGE THE RIM AND TIRE, POSING A SAFETY RISK ON THE ROAD. THE TIRE AND RIM SIZE WERE: P205/60R16.*AK
THIS VEHICLE HAS AN AIR BAG SAFETY RECALL AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON. I CAN'T HAVE A PASSENGER RIDE IN MY CAR DUE TO THIS DANGER RECALL 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384AND THIS VEHICLE IS 12 YEARS OLD AND PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. WHAT GOOD IS A VEHICLE THAT CAN'T HAVE A PASSENGER DUE TO A DANGER RECALL!! I MUST HAVE THIS REPAIRED, THIS CAR SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A LEMON LAW!!! PLEASE ADVISE WHAT MY NEXT PROCEDURE CAN BE TO GET THIS PART INSTALLED OR TAKE THE CAR BACK!!!
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE LUMBAR SUPPORT BAND IN THE DRIVER SEAT FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE BAND HAD BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND THE PROBLEM HAD RECURRED. UPDATED 12/01/06. *JB

THERE WAS NO AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED PRIOR TO OR AFTER THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER.*AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH ON A WET ROAD, THE VEHICLE WAS STRUCK ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGES. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE CRASHED HEAD ON INTO THE SIDE OF A U-HAUL TRUCK. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AGAIN. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE. THERE WERE NO INJURES IN EITHER CRASH. FORD HAS NOT BEEN NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
I PURCHASED A 2006 FUSION ON 8-12-06 AFTER AN INITIAL TEST DRIVE. THE CAR APPEARED TO BE FREE FROM ANY COSMETIC DEFECTS. WHEN PICKING UP THE VEHICLE AFTER THE PAPERS WERE SIGNED. HOWEVER, THE MORE I DROVE THE CAR, THE MORE I NOTICED A DEFECT IN THE WINDSHIELD GLASS. I WAS NOT ABLE TO PUT MY FINGER ON THE PROBLEM UNTIL READING A POST HERE FROM ANOTHER FUSION OWNER. IT IS MOST NOTICEABLE WHEN MAKING A TURN IN THE VEHICLE, AS THE DEFECT IS MOST PRONOUNCED WHEN LOOKING THROUGH THE GLASS AT AN ANGLE, SUCH AS LOOKING TO THE RIGHT THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE GLASS. I ALSO SAT IN THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND LOOKED THROUGH THE GLASS AT AN ANGLE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND CAN SEE THE DEFECT THERE AS WELL. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A PROBLEM WHEN LOOKING STRAIGHT AHEAD THROUGH THE GLASS. THE DEFECT IS A SERIES OF 'LINES' VERTICALLY THROUGHOUT THE GLASS SO THAT THE GLASS LOOKS WARPED. I HAVE NOT CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS YET BUT WILL BRING IT TO THEIR ATTENTION WHEN THE FIRST SERVICE IS DUE. *JB
LOW VISIBILITY OUT OF THE REAR WINDSHIELD CAN POSE A DANGER WHEN BACKING UP IN PARKING LOTS OR OUT OF DRIVEWAYS SINCE SOMETIMES THE ROAD CANNOT BE SEEN AND DISTANCE TO OTHER VEHICLES CANNOT BE ESTIMATED. NO BACKUP WARNING SYSTEM WAS AVAILABLE AS AN ADD-ON LIKE THE FORD EXPLORER AND OTHER FORD MODELS. THIS SHOULD BE A STANDARD FEATURE IN ALL MODELS OF THE VEHICLE AS IT WOULD PROVIDE SAFETY IN BACKING OF THE VEHICLE IF NOT AT LEAST AN OPTION TO ADD TO THE PURCHASE. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE DRIVER INCURRED A NASAL FRACTURE, HEAD AND MUSCULAR INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN, AND THE VEHICLE WAS CONSIDERED A TOTAL LOSS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER AFTER THE CRASH.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING THE TIRES SUDDENLY BECAME FLAT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THERE WERE NO POTHOLES OR FOREIGN OBJECTS THAT MAY HAVE PUNCTURED THE TIRES. THE DEALER RECENTLY CHECKED THE TIRE PRESSURE TWO WEEKS AGO AND THERE WAS NO NEED FOR EVEN A ROTATION OF THE TIRES. THERE WAS ALSO NO VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. THE TIRES WERE OBSERVED PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT AND THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF FAILURE OR BUDGING. THE CONTACT EXPRESSED BEING NERVOUS BECAUSE OF THE TWO TIRES GOING FLAT AT THE SAME TIME WITH NO APPARENT WARNING. THE DEALER STATED BOTH RIMS WERE BENT. UPDATED 08/22/06. *JB
MY WINDSHIELD HAD SERIOUS DISTORTIONS THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE GLASS. VARYING DEGRESS OF MAGNIFICATION CAUSED EYE STRAIN AND HEADACHES. IT WAS DANGEROUS DRIVING THE VEHICLE IN THIS CONDITION AND NOT A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. MY DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD ONLY TO HAVE THE NEW ONE BE EVEN WORSE. THE NEW WINDSHIELD IS SO BAD IT'S AS THOUGH I'M LOOKING THROUGH A WET WINDSHIELD THAT HAS NOT BEEN WIPED. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE REPLACEMENT IS BAD AND THAT IT MIGHT BE INDICATIVE OF A LARGER PROBLEM. THEY PLAN ON CONTACTING FORD. I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR ONLY ONE WEEK AT THE TIME OF TYPING THIS. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE EXTERIOR MIRRORS ON THE VEHICLE DO NOT ALLOW VISION OF THE REAR END, NO MATTER HOW THE MIRRORS ARE POSITIONED. THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED MOTION SENSORS BE INSTALLED AND THE MANUFACTURER STATED THIS IS HOW THE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED AND NO REPAIRS WERE AVAILABLE. UPDATED 03/09/06
AT LESS THAN 5000 MILES MY CAR WOULD HESITATE WHEN GOING TO ACCELERATE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 4 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. IT IS NOW IN THE SHOP AGAIN BECAUSE WHEN I WOULD TURN LEFT SOMETHING IN THE STEERING COLUMN WAS LOOSE. *JB
A MICHELIN HXMXM4 225-50-17 INSTALLED ON MY FORD FUSION 2006 JUST LOST ALL THE TREAD AREA AFTER JUST SOME 1500 MILES ON IT. I CALLED FORD AND MICHELIN AND I GOT NO ANSWER. SINCE THE TIRES ARE MADE IN THE USA AND FORD IS A US BRAND, I WOULD LIKE TO FILE THIS COMPLAINT. I HAVE PLENTY OF PICTURES I MIGHT SEND TO YOU IN CASE YOU NEED THEM. I HAVE CALLED MICHELIN, BECAUSE THIS IS A BRAND NEW TIRE, SO THERE IS NO TIRES ON ANY DEALER, AND ALSO, TO ASK THEM TO HONOR THE WARRANTY BUT IT SEEMS THAT NO ONE WANTS TO HELP OUT AND THEY SAY IT MUST BE MY FAULT AND NOT MICHELINS FAULT SINCE THEIR TIRE HAVE NEVER EVER HAD SUCH TYPE OF PROBLEM. HAVE RECENTLY ICED NUMEROUS RECALL NOTICES AND ALL I GET FROM THE DEALER IS THEY DON'T HAVE ANY REPLACEMENT PARTS. COULDN'T FIND ANY INFORMATION ABOUT COMPLAINING EXCEPT AT THIS SITE. LAST INFORMATION I GOT WAS THEY WILL HAVE PARTS IN OCT ON NOW IT'S NOV.
TAKATA RECALL. MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AIRBAG HAS STILL NOT BEEN FIXED AND PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE THIS HAS GONE ON SO LONG AND THE DEALERSHIP STILL DOES NOT HAVE REPLACEMENT PARTS.
TAKATA RECALL DEALER CANNOT REPAIR. DEALER HAS FAILED TO COMPLETE REPAIR.
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE THIRD BRAKE LAMP WHICH IS LOCATED BEHIND THE REAR SEAT BLOCKS HIS VIEW. AT NIGHT YOU CANNOT SEE THE HEADLIGHTS OF OTHER CARS THAT ARE CLOSE. THE CONTACT FEELS THE LAMP SHOULD BE RELOCATED IN THE TRUNK DECK OR ABOVE THE REAR WINDOW. UPDATED 2/13/2006 - THE CONSUMER HAD ONE MINOR ACCIDENT. HE BACKED INTO A POST THAT WAS ONLY ABOUT 3-4' HIGH. THE POST COULD NOT BE SEEN BECAUSE OF THE VEHICLE'S HIGH BACK DESIGN AND THE HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT BLOCKING HIS VIEW. *NM
TA KATAKANA RECALL I GOT A LETTER IN JULY SAID DEALER WILL CONTRACT ME AND I HAVEN'T HEARDRUM ANYTHING IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL IT'S FIX BUT I DON'T HAVE A CHOICE I HAVE TO DRIVE IT ON VACATION NEXT WEEK THE PROBLEM NEED FIX BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE GETS HURT.
