TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE "OFF" POSITION; HOWEVER, THE IGNITION KEY FAILED TO RELEASE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE KEY IS CURRENTLY IN THE IGNITION. AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE MALFUNCTION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE VIN WAS REJECTED FROM THE SYSTEM. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 63,000.
SEVERAL PROBLEMS WITH 2006 FORD FUSION SE IGNITION ON/OFF, KEY REMOVAL AND GEAR SELECTION. WHEN STARTING CAR, COMES OUT OF GEAR. ON STARTUP, GEAR SHIFT WILL NOT ENGAGE/DISENGAGE FULLY. ON STARTUP, CANNOT START MOTOR BECAUSE GEAR SHIFT WILL NOT FULLY ENGAGE "PARK". KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM IGNITION WHEN TURNING CAR OFF. WHEN AT STOPLIGHTS, TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP OUT OF GEAR. *TR
THIS VEHICLE LOSE POWER AND SLOWS DOWN, IT HAPPENED ON THE EXPRESS WAY MORE THAN 5 TIMES. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BY A SEMI TRUCK. I ONLY DRIVE IT ON SIDE STREETS NOW. IT POPS INTO GEAR VERY HARD, THE WRENCH LIGHT AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. IT GETS STUCK IN SECOND GEAR AND BURNS A LOT OF GAS. IT STARTED SOON AFTER THE WARRANTY RAN OUT. I HAD A LOT OF REPAIRS DONE AND THE POWER TRAIN AND ENGINE IS NOT WORKING RIGHT AS OF YET, SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS FORD FUSION 06 AND A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH IT. WHY DOES IT TAKE THE DEATHS OF MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE FIRST BEFORE THERE'S A RECALL? *TR
MY LEFT TAIL LIGHT HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES. BURN MARKS ARE VISIBLE AND IT IS NOW OUT AGAIN. IT WAS REPLACED EARLY SUMMER 2009 IT IS NOW OCT 2009. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKE A CLICKING NOISE WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED LEFT OR RIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE SUBFRAME WAS CORRODED AND WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE LONG DISTANCES. THE SUBFRAME WAS REPLACED AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE CLICKING NOISE CONTINUED SO THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP; HOWEVER, THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CV BOOT WAS REPLACED BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,000.
I OWN A 2006 FORD FUSION AND THE KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE PROBLEMS ON FORD'S FORUMS AND MANY, MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM AND EXPLAIN THAT REMOVING THE SILVER RING ON THE SHIFTER KNOB WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS AND HAVE MY CAR ROLL DOWN MY DRIVEWAY AND KILL SOMEONE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD SHAKE AND JERK WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT. THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL UNIT WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,294 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,983.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE BECAME FRACTURED FROM ITS HOUSING. WITHIN TWO MONTHS, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLES ALSO FRACTURED FROM THEIR HOUSING. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS AND THE REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE LIABILITY OF THE OWNER. SHE WAS ALSO ADVISED BY A LOCAL SERVICE STATION, UPON GETTING A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE, THAT EVERY FORD FUSION THEY REPAIRED EXHIBITED THE SAME FAILURE. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 84,000. UPDATED 07/06/10. *LJ UPDATED 07/07/10.*JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE SHE COULD NOT REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION. SHE IS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND SAFELY SECURE IT. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURERS REPRESENTATIVE STATED THAT SINCE HER VEHICLE EXCEEDED ITS WARRANTY THEY WOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 24,000. BOTH DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCHES BROKEN. 2006 FORD FUSION.... CAN'T OPEN DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. *TR
THERE IS A CREAKING NOISE FROM THE FRONT END OF THE CAR, WHICH APPEARS TO BE A CRACK SUBFRAME IN MY 2006 FORD FUSION SE V6. THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB 06-24-7) FOR THE 2006 FORD FUSIONS, 2006 ZEPHYRS AND 2006 MILANS. IT STATES THAT THE REPAIR IS ELIGIBLE UNDER PROVISIONS OF NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY COVERAGE. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER THIS WARRANTY, AND FORD (FETTE FORD, CLIFTON NJ) HAS REFUSED TO AID ME IN ANY WAY. I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE FROM SAWGRASS FORD (SUNRISE, FL). THEY CLAIM THIS IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND ARE TRYING TO CHARGE $2100 FOR THE REPAIRS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AND HAZARDOUS TO ONE'S LIFE, BECAUSE THE CRACKED FRAME AFFECTS THE STEERING CONTROL OF THE CAR. *TR
THE LEFT FRONT DOOR HANDLE ON MY 2006 FUSION HAD A FUNNY LOOK TO IT FROM THE TIME I PURCHASED IT. IN AUG 2009, THE HANDLE BROKE. THE DOOR COULD STILL BE OPENED BUT IT DIFFICULT..THE FORD DEALER SAID THIS WAS NOT COVERED UNDER OUR WARRANTY. IT COST $105 TO REPLACE !! *TR
SINCE WE'VE OWNED OUR 2006 FORD FUSION WE HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE DOOR HANDLE FOR THE PASSENGER AND BOTH BACK PASSENGER SEATS MULTIPLE TIMES. ONCE THESE HANDLES FAIL (RANDOMLY WITH NO WARNING) THEY CANNOT BE OPERATED FROM THE INSIDE. THIS REQUIRES GETTING SOMEONE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. WE FEAR THAT IN AN ACCIDENT WE MIGHT BECOME TRAPPED. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT I'M NOT ALONE WITH THIS ISSUE WITH OUR 2006 FUSION, BUT FORD HAS YET TO RECALL THESE OBVIOUSLY DEFECTIVE PARTS. *TR
I OWN A 2006 FORD FUSION THAT STARTED HAVE A CLICKING NOISE WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT OR MAKING RIGHT OR LEFT HAND TURNS OR EVEN BACKING UP. I TOOK INTO MY MECHANIC TO LOOK AT AND HE CALL TO TELL ME IT WAS A CRACKED FRAME, AND THAT HE LOCATED A SERVICE BULLETIN BY FORD WITH REFERENCE TO MY FUSION AND THE MILAN HAVING A CRACK IN THE FRAME AND THAT THEY MAKE A REPAIR KIT AVAILABLE THAT REQUIRES THE SUBFRAME TO BE DROPPED AND HOLES DRILL WITH BOLTS AND RIVETS ALONG WITH A PLATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I CHECK BOTH FORDS AND YOUR WEB SITE FOR A RECALL AND FOUND NOTHING. THESE CRACK CAN LEAD TO A FRAME FAILURE AND AN ACCIDENT WITH POSSIBLE INJURIES OR DEATH. *TR
CAR COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FRONT END OF MY CAR HIT THE BACK END OF THE OTHER VEHICLE. MY RATE OF SPEED WAS APPROX. 40MPH NONE OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLES WERE FRACTURED TO THE POINT WHERE THE METAL BEGAN PEELING OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY THE DEALER NOR WAS IT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 37,000.
VEHICLE FAILED IN HIGH TRAFFIC, CAR JERKED AND WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS I HAD NOTHING, NO CONTROL. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR SAFELY OFF THE ROAD AS CARS SWERVED BY. THE CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS DO THIS. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT TWO TIMES, THEY NOW SAY I NEED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS FORD FUSION 2006 HAS ONLY 49,000 MILES ON IT. IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD, BUT FORD OR THE DEALER SO FAR TO DATE WILL NOT FIX IT. HELP! ONE OF THE WELDS ON THE SUBFRAME OF MY 2006 FORD FUSION CRACKED. WHEN IT HAPPENED MY CAR HAD LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT. I TOOK IT IN TO RODEO FORD WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND IS NOW TRYING TO CHARGE ME $1500 TO HAVE IT WELDED BACK. THEY TRIED TO REASSURE ME HOWEVER THAT MY CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE WHO TOLD ME THEY WOULD NOT WORK WITH ME TO FIX THE ISSUE. MY WARRANTY WAS UP IN JANUARY 2009 AND FORD CUSTOMER CARE TOLD ME THERE WERE NO OTHER WARRANTIES I COULD PURCHASE TO HELP WITH THE REPAIR. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY AN ISSUE WITH MANY 2006 FORD FUSIONS AND FORD THEMSELVES SHOULD MAKE THE REPAIRS AT NO COST TO THE CONSUMERS. THIS IS FORDS FAULTINESS, NOT THE CONSUMER'S AND SOMETHING REALLY NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT IT. *TR
2006 FUSION SEL. 1) IGNITION KEY GETS STUCK IN IGNITION. APPROXIMATELY 9 INCIDENTS BEGINNING MAY 2009 OF PARKING THE CAR, TURNING OFF THE MOTOR, KEY CANNOT BE REMOVED FROM IGNITION: 3-4 TIMES THE KEY COULD NOT BE REMOVED FOR OVER 48 HOURS; 4 - 5 TIMES WITHIN 12 HOURS.. CAR CAN BE LOCKED IF USING THE SECOND REMOTE-CONTROL KEY, BUT WILL UNLOCK ALL DOORS WITH IN 5 SECONDS WHEN LOCK ON THE INSIDE DOOR IS PUSHED AND DOOR IS CLOSED. HAVE HAD THE ALARM GO OFF 3 TIMES WHEN CAR DOOR IS OPENED AFTER CAR LEFT UNATTENDED FOR 15+ MINUTES, UNLOCKED, WITH KEY STUCK IN IGNITION, BUT ALARM HAS NOT SOUNDED AT ALL TIMES FOR THE SAME SCENARIO. 2) CHROME VENEER ON INTERIOR FRONT DOOR HANDLES WRINKLING AND PEELING. PROBLEM WAS BEGINNING TO SHOW IT SELF WHEN CAR WAS PURCHASED. *TR

THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES HAVE BROKEN ON THREE OF THE FOUR DOORS AND REQUIRE YOU TO OPEN THEM FROM THE OUTSIDE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A SYSTEMIC PROBLEM WITH FORD FUSIONS WITH INFERIOR PLASTIC DOOR HANDLES. *TR

TRANSMISSION ON VEHICLE IS NOT GOOD AT ALL... THERE ARE MANY CONSUMERS THAT ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE AS 50,000 MILES SNA ABOVE. THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THE WEB AND IN FORUMS ON THE 2006 FORD FUSIONS. THE CAR WILL SHAKE WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO IT WILL SWITCH GEARS ON ITS OWN AS WELL AS THE GEAR WILL GET STUCK. THIS IS UNSAFE AND VERY UNSAFE WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY. HAS HAD THE PROBLEM FIXED AND THE VEHICLE HAD BEGAN HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND MUCH WORSE. *TR
4/7/09 I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF NOISE COMING FROM FRONT END WHEN TURNING OR GOING OVER BUMPS ON MY 2006 FORD FUSION AND WAS TOLD THAT IT HAD A CRACKED SUBFRAME . I SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD TOO BAD AS IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM AND THEY WERE TOLD HOW TO WELD IT SO THAT IT WOULD BE FIXED. THE DEALERSHIPS MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS NOTHING I DID , THERE WAS NO SIGNS OF IMPACT . HE SAID IT WAS SOMETHING THAT FORD WAS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH. A CAR THIS NEW SHOULD NOT HAVE A CRACKED FRAME AND ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC IT IS AN ISSUE WITH FORD WHO IS IGNORING THIS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I HAVE A 2006 FORD FUSION AND EVERY SINGLE DOOR HANDLE IS BROKEN AND NO LONGER WORKS PROPERLY. I HAVE CONTACTED THE FORD DEALER TO HAVE THEM REPLACED WITH NO RESPONSE. THEY ARE MADE OF PLASTIC AND COVER WITH CHROME TAPE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING LESS THAN 30 MPH, THE DRIVER CRASHED INTO THE FRONT END OF AN APPROACHING VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES TO HER KNEE, BACK, NECK, AND HAND. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS INJURED AND REMOVED FROM THE SCENE BY AN AMBULANCE. AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH, THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY; HOWEVER, THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED IN THE OTHER VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS UNABLE TO EXPLAIN THE FAILURE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 34,100.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND ALL OF THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED ONTO THE DRIVEWAY. THE CONTACT IS STILL DRIVING THE VEHICLE AND HAS NOT YET TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HIM TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW IN 2006 AND STILL HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I'LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR NEW AIR BAG RECALL TO BE INSTALLED
I WAS PROCEEDING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION TO TURN LEFT. A CAR THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO STOP RAN THE RED LIGHT AND T-BONED ME DIRECTLY IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE. HIS AIRBAG DEPLOYED (FRONT). MY 2006 FORD FUSION IS EQUIPPED WITH FRONT AND SIDE AIRBAGS. NONE OF THEM DEPLOYED. I WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WITH FRACTURED RIBS AND ULTIMATELY, NEEDED PT TO RESTORE MY NECK AND LEFT ARM ROTATOR CUFF TO FULL USE AND BACK TO NORMAL POSITION. PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE INSISTED ON REPAIRING THE CAR - TOTAL OVER $17,000 DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. NO ONE CHECKED OUT AIRBAG SYSTEM AND ALL ASSUME IT IS WORKING PROPERLY. I DISAGREE. THE DOOR POST WHERE THE SENSORS ARE LOCATED WAS SMASHED IN, DRIVER'S DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN, CUT AND REBUILT FLOOR OF CAR. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE REVVED HIGH AND JERKED HARD INTO GEAR WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 51,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000.

THE RIGHT REAR DOOR HANDLE SNAPPED WHEN MY 3 YR OLD GRANDBABY TRIED TO OPEN DOOR. AS TIME HAS GONE ON, THE LEFT REAR DOOR HANDLE SNAPPED. THAT WAS FOLLOWED BY THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE SNAPPING. I NOW HAVE TO CRAWL TO THE PASSENGER SIDE TO GET OUT. USED TO BE ABLE TO PULL THE LOCK FEATURE TO OPEN IT, BUT, CAN NO LONGER DO THAT. I'VE SEEN A MILLION COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE HANDLES. IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, ONE CANNOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. THIS COULD EASILY RESULT IN DEATH THAT COULD EASILY BE AVOIDED BY EXITING THE VEHICLE. I ALSO HAVE THE ADDITIONAL PROBLEM OF LIMITED USE OF MY LEG DUE TO MAJOR SURGERY AND WEAKNESS FROM MY CHEMO MEDS. I FEEL LIKE A SITTING DUCK. WHY IS THIS BEING IGNORED? I HAVE A 2006 FORD FUSION THAT NEEDS A PAINT JOB ON THE ROOF, BECAUSE IT IS PEELING. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, AND HAVE OWNED IT FOR LESS THAN TWO YEARS. IT HAS 39,000 MILES ON IT, THUS MAKING IT 3,000 MILES OUT OF WARRANTY. COMMON SENSE AND PLACES I HAVE TAKEN IT TO CONSIDER THIS A DEFECT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. IN JUNE OF 2008, THE VEHICLE JUMPED FORWARD WHEN THE AIR CONDITIONER WAS ACTIVATED. IN ADDITION, THE RPM'S RAPIDLY INCREASED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTOMOTIVE GARAGE; HOWEVER, THEY WERE UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AS WELL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS, ONE BY ONE, EVERY DOOR LATCH OR LOCK HAS BROKEN. IN 2008 I EXPERIENCED A JAMMING OF THE DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH SO I WAS UNABLE TO SHUT THE DOOR, REQUIRING THE DRIVER TO HOLD THE DOOR SHUT WITH ONE HAND WHILE DRIVING (AN OBVIOUS SAFETY RISK). THIS WAS REPAIRED, BUT AGAIN BROKE IN 2012, AND THE DOOR WAS ONLY ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. LATCH WAS REPLACED (PAID PRIVATELY). HAD SIMILAR INCIDENTS WITH ALL OTHER DOORS, PLUS PEELING SILVER TAPE FROM PLASTIC LATCH HANDLES. LATEST INCIDENT WAS 8/30/13. RIGHT REAR PASSENGER DOOR IS ABLE TO BE OPENED FROM THE INSIDE, BUT CAN'T BE OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE. *JS
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SLIPS OUT OF GEAR DURING ACCELERATION. WHEN DOWNSHIFTING IT SLIPS AND SOMETIMES SLAMS ITSELF INTO GEAR. STARTING FROM A STOP SOMETIMES THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SEEM TO KNOW WHICH GEAR TO START IN AND SLAMS INTO 1ST. THE MOST FREQUENT PROBLEM IS THAT OF THE TRANSMISSION DROPPING OUT OF GEAR UPON ACCELERATION OR TRYING TO TOP A GRADE. IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL THE RPMS WILL REACH 5000+ RPMS. THIS ISSUE BEGAN AROUND 50K MILES. FORD DEALERSHIP IN STERLING HEIGHTS MICHIGAN CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION IN APPROX MAY OF 2008 AND THEY ONLY OFFERED A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT AT A COST OF 4K+, THEY COULD NOT DETERMINE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. *TR
DRIVER'S DOOR INTERIOR HANDLE HAS BENT AND DOES NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR INTERIOR HANDLE HAS BENT AND SOMETIMES WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR INTERIOR HANDLE HAS BENT BUT AT THIS TIME STILL OPENS FROM THE INSIDE. DRIVER'S DOOR AND DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR NO LONGER LOCK DUE TO THIS. *TR

CAR JUMPING, AND HESITATING. IT HAPPENED ALOT. ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG, AND THAT IF THE GAS CAP OR ENGINE TOP WASN'T ON THAT IT WAS CAUSE THE LIGHT TO GO ON, AND WAS TOLD ABOUT THE JUMPING OF THE CAR THAT THE SENSOR NEEDED TO CATCH UP TO THE ENGINE, THAT IS WHAT IS WAS SUPPOSE TO DO. ALSO CAR SWITCHING ITS GEAR BY ITSELF THEN SLOWING DOWN AND LOSING POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. WOULD HAVE TO PULL OVER PUT THE CAR IN PARK, THEN PROCEED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE THEN IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS. *TR
ALL FOUR OF THE DOOR HANDLES NEED TO BE OR HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THEY ARE CRACKING WHERE YOU PULL THEM TO OPEN THE DOOR. I HAD THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE REPLACED THE FIRST YEAR I HAD OWNED THE CAR, IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO FORD REPLACED IT FREE OF CHARGE. THE TWO BACK AND SIDE PASSENGER IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND OF COURSE I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. THE CAR HAD ABOUT 50,000 MILES ON IT WHEN THIS HAPPENED. *TT
BOUGHT THE CAR USED WITH APPROX. 45,000 MILES ON IT FROM FORD DEALERSHIP. WITHIN A WEEK I WAS BACK AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT AT. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, STUCK IN GEAR, JERK VIOLENTLY. THEY GAVE ME A LOANER CAR TO DRIVE, ANOTHER 06 FORD FUSION. THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND IT WAS THE WAY I DRIVE. I TOLD THEM I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE LOANER CAR OR ANY OTHER CAR I'VE EVER DRIVEN OR OWNED. THEY INSISTED I WAS WRONG. OVER THE NEXT MONTH I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ENCOUNTERED THE SAME RESISTANCE. THE PROBLEM GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE TO THE POINT WHERE I WOULD BE GOING 60+ MPH ON A HIGHWAY AND THE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL. THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED IN 2010, AT THAT TIME I HAD IT REPLACED, COSTING $3,000. MAY 31, 2012 - APPROX 65,000 MILES. SIMILAR PROBLEMS AGAIN. CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, VERY HESITANT, ENTIRE CAR SHAKES VIOLENTLY WHILE DRIVING. CHECK ENGINE LIKE CAME ON. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY MECHANIC, HE TESTED AND DETERMINED THREE COILS WENT BAD. LOOKED IN THE CAR AND DISCOVERED THE COILS HAD ACTUALLY MELTED. WITH RESEARCH, DETERMINED THE COMPUTER SYSTEM HAD FAILED. COILS AND COMPUTER SYSTEM NEED TO BE REPLACED. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT WOULD SPORADICALLY ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE TO TEN MINUTES. ONE MONTH LATER, THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT DIMMED WHILE ALL THE PASSENGERS WERE PROPERLY RESTRAINED IN THEIR SEAT BELTS. WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER ATTEMPTED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE SEAT BELT LOCKED AND PREVENTED THE PASSENGER FROM EXITING. THE CONTACT DROVE TO A LOCAL POLICE STATION AND AN OFFICER REMOVED THE SEAT BELT PANEL TO FREE THE PASSENGER FROM THE SEAT. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO REPAIR THE SEAT BELT SYSTEM AT HIS OWN EXPENSE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE FACTORY WARRANTY. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 4,997.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL WAS DEFECTIVE AND FAILED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH IN THE SNOW. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR HIM TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM SLIDING AND HE COULD NOT FEEL ANY TRACTION. HE FURTHER STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE NOT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE BECAUSE THEY ARE IN GOOD CONDITION WITH VERY LOW MILEAGE. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A DEFECT WITH THE STABILITY CONTROL. THE MANUFACTURER IS AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALER. I LOVE MY FUSION HOWEVER, AS A DESIGNER & A DETAILED ORIENTED PERSON I HAVE A FEW COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY CAR THAT I BELIEVE SHOULD BE FIXED OR AT LEAST SHOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF SINCE I HAVE LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT. FIRST, I DON'T LIKE THE TILT IN THE CAR...VERY DIFFICULT TO USE IF YOU HAVE ARTHRITIS. I DON'T LIKE THAT THERE AREN'T ANY BACK SEAT LIGHTS FOR WHOMEVER IS BACK THERE. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY STEERING SHAKING & BROUGHT THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER...THEY ENDED UP TURNING THE ROTORS. THINGS WENT WELL FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN IT WENT BACK TO THE SAME. THEY ENDED UP TURNING THEM AGAIN...NO CHARGE..BUT NO REAL EXPLANATION AS TO WHY IT WAS HAPPENING. ONE MONTH LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN & THIS TIME WE DECIDED TO JUST BUY NEW ROTORS ON OUR OWN & REPLACE THE PADS TOO. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE IN THE BACK SEAT BROKE & THE FINISH OFF THE DRIVERS INTERIOR DOOR IS BUBBLING TOO...THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN IN A 2 YEAR OLD CAR! NOW, THE OTHER DAY MY A/C DECIDED NOT TO BLOW COLD AIR ANYMORE & THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER UNTIL THE END OF JULY!! HOW CAN THIS BE WITH SUCH A POPULAR CAR & SUCH A NEW CAR. I REALLY LOVE THIS CAR BUT I FEEL THAT MY OLDER VEHICLES LASTED LONGER WITH FEWER PROBLEMS. TAKATA RECALL - SEE ATTACHED LETTER - STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE FOR A "HIGH RISK" VEHICLE. THE DELAY IN ADDRESSING THIS SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM IS RIDICULOUS.
MY 2006 FORD FUSION 3.0L V-6 IS EXPERIENCING SEVERE PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS ALL STARTED AT 55,000MI. IT WILL SLIP OUT OF GEAR AT ACCELERATION AND CLUNKS AND THUDS WHEN IT IS DOWNSHIFTING. THIS IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY IF YOU DECIDE TO TURN QUICKLY IF FRONT OF ON COMING TRAFFIC. THE TRANS JUST MAY NOT CATCH. FORD ENGINEERS KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IT IS THE TRANSMISSION WHICH FORD PURCHASED FROM "AISEN" IN GERMANY. THEY HAVE A DEFECTIVE CONTROL BODY WHICH HAS EXTREME SPOOL BORE WEAR. SOMEONE BETTER REQUIRE FORD TO FIX THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT.... I HAVE MANY CLOSE CALLS SINCE I OWNED THIS CAR. THE VEHICLE HAS A NOISE THAT IS SIMILAR TO A STRUT THAT IS LOSE, THAT STARTED OUT AS SLIGHT NOISE AND HAS SUBSEQUENTLY GOTTEN LOUDER. THE FUSION HAS A V-6 AND IS NOW OUT OF WARRANTY AND WAS PURCHASED NEW; THE PROBLEM HAS EXISTED FOR YEARS WITH NO DEALER HAVING A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. THAT NOISE HAS BEEN INVESTIGATED BY TWO SEPARATE FORD DEALERS, (ONE WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE) THE OTHER AN INDEPENDENT FORD DEALER I PURCHASED AN EXPLORER FROM. NEITHER COULD FIND THE CAUSE OF THE SOUND. IT OCCURS OVER BUMPS SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES OVER SMOOTH PAVEMENT. ONE MECHANIC FROM A GOODYEAR REPAIR DEALER HEARD AND THOUGHT IT WAS THE SWAY THEN; TIGHTEN IT, BUT THE SOUND STILL EXIST. THE SOUND IS ONLY HEARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE.
