ABOUT A MONTH AFTER THE CAR WAS BOUGHT, THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WOULD TURN ON ABOUT ONCE EVERY OTHER MONTH. WE WOULD ALWAYS CHECK THE TIRE PRESSURE AND REFILL AS NEEDED. BUT IN THE MIDDLE OF APRIL THE LIGHT CAME ON EVERY OTHER DAY AND THE CAR STARTED TO PULL STRONGLY TO THE LEFT. WE THOUGHT THERE MIGHT HAVE BEEN A SMALL, SLOW LEAK IN THE TIRE, SO WE BROUGHT IT TO SEARS. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND A LEAK, BUT THEY LOCATED A CRACK IN THE RIM OF THE WHEEL. NO ONE KNOWS HOW IT GOT THERE. WE NEVER HIT ANYTHING. BUT THE SEARS TECH'S SAID THAT IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THERE AS A SMALL HOLE AT THE BEGINNING AND IT GOT BIGGER OVER THE TIME. THE CRACK IN THE WHEEL IS WHAT CAUSED THE AIR TO LEAK FROM THE TIRE. THEY THOUGHT IT WAS MUCH TOO DANGEROUS TO LET US DRIVE AROUND WITH THIS CRACK. WE BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT FIXED UNDER THE WARRANTY BUT THEY CLAIM THAT WE MUST HAVE HIT SOMETHING (WHICH WE DID NOT), AND DON'T WANT TO COVER IT. AS OF RIGHT NOW WE ARE DRIVING ON THE SPARE TIRE BECAUSE FORD IS NOT TAKING THE BLAME. WE HAVE TO WAIT A MONTH TO SEE THEIR FORD TECH REPRESENTATIVE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THEM CHECK A TAPPING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE THAT I HAD HEARD EARLIER THAT DAY. I MADE IT ABOUT 5 MILES FROM HOME, AND THE ENGINE HAD BLOWN, NO WARNING LIGHTS, NOTHING OTHER THAN THE SOUND THAT HAD JUST OCCURRED THAT MORNING. NOW I HAD MADE IT ABOUT 90K AFTER THE NEW ENGINE WAS INSTALLED (NOW AT 139000), AND AGAIN THE ENGINE HAS BLOWN. THIS TIME IT WAS A LITTLE WORSE, THE CAR HAD A SUDDEN INCREASE OF POWER, AND THEN ALL THE SUDDEN THERE WAS A LOUD BANG, AND A CLOUD OF WHITE SMOKE FOLLOWED BY SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD AND THE REAR OF THE CAR. WHEN I PULLED ONTO THE SHOULDER I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND SAW A PIECE OF THE ENGINE FALL OUT AND THEN ALL OF THE OIL AS WELL. I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF EVERY VEHICLE I OWN, THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT LOOKED LIKE I HADN'T CHANGED MY OIL EVER. IT WAS JUST A SLUDGE. *TR
DURING THE NIGHT OUR 2009 FORD FUSION ROLLED DOWN ARE DRIVEWAY AND ENDED UP ALMOST IN THE STREET. I COULD SEE THE TIRE MARKS IN THE SNOW AND SEE THAT IT DID IN FACT ROLL, I CHECKED THE GEARSHIFT AND IT WAS IN PARK. I PUSHED ON THE CAR AND IT ROLLED A LITTLE MORE THEN STOPPED. SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THERE WAS ANOTHER CAR IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. GUY AT THE CAR RENTAL SHOP SAID THAT ALOT OF THEIR FUSIONS HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSIONS REPLACED. *TR
1.TAKATA RECALL. 3-5 YEAR WAITING PERIOD AND YET NO REPAIR. ALSO, IF DRIVER AIRBAG IS TAKATA, WHY NO RECALL OR REPLACEMENT? 2. BRAKES WILL DROP ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR IN EMERGENCY BRAKING! WHY NO RECALL OR FIX? THIS IS LIFE THREATENING PROBLEM.
LOW BRAKE PEDAL AFTER A HARD STOP
1908 FORD FUSION REAR BRAKING SYSTEM, BRAKE PADS MUST BE REPLACED AT 25,000 MILES. REAR ROTORS MUST BE TURNED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY REFUSES TO ADMIT PROBLEMS AFTER CALL TO REVIEW ISSUE WITH MY PURCHASED FUSION IN 2008. LOSS OF REAR BRAKING CAN LEAD TO INCIDENT'S, CRASHES AND INJURY. DEALER IMPLIED THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH TAURUS AND FUSIONS.IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING TAURUS HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR REAR BRAKE PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH FAULTY BRAKE PADS. *TR
1. ENGINE THREW A ROD RESULTING IN CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE JULY 10, 2009: WHILE TRAVELING THE I805 S IN SAN DIEGO, CA, THE VEHICLE ENGINE EXPLODED WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED, THERE WERE NO NOISES, NOTHING TO INDICATE WHAT WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. I WAS HEADING TO WORK AT APPROXIMATELY 1PM, WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET TO 65MPH, WHEN I BEGAN TO NEAR MY FREEWAY INTERCHANGE. IT'S AN AREA WHERE TWO FREEWAYS MEET AND MERGING TRAFFIC IS MOVING MUCH SLOWER. CRUISE CONTROL WAS DISENGAGED AND THE VEHICLE GRADUALLY BEGAN TO SLOW FROM 65MPH. MERGING TRAFFIC WAS TRYING TO MOVE RIGHT TO LEFT AND I WAS TRYING TO MOVE LEFT TO RIGHT; ONCE I SAW MY OPENING, I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL TO SPEED UP. INSTANTLY THERE WAS A LOUD EXPLOSION AND THE VEHICLE JOLTED. MY FIRST REACTION WAS THAT I HAD BEEN REAR ENDED OR HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO 'BUCK' AND THREW ITSELF INTO THE LANE TO IT'S RIGHT. SMOKE WAS BILLOWING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND BOTTOM OF THE VEHICLE. THE INTERIOR HVAC SYSTEM PULLED SMOKE INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT DURING THIS TIME. I MANAGED TO BRAKE AND MOVE TO THE SHOULDER, DURING THIS TIME THERE WERE BURSTS OF POWER AND THEN DECELERATION. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FINALLY UNDER CONTROL, MY NEXT THOUGHT MOVED TO THE FIRE DANGER IT POSED TO THE SURROUNDING FREEWAY EMBANKMENT AND RESIDENTIAL AREAS ABOVE. I ALLOWED THE VEHICLE TO COAST DOWN THE HOME AVE EXIT RAMP AND PARKED IT IN THE CENTER OF HOME AVE. I LITERALLY LEAPT FROM THE VEHICLE AND RAN TO PULL MY SCHOOL AND WORK MATERIAL FROM THE TRUNK. I ATTEMPTED TO CALL 911 6 TIMES BEFORE GIVING UP AND CALLING MY WORK MANAGER. HE WAS ABLE TO GET THROUGH TO 911 DISPATCHERS THAT EVENTUALLY SENT A FIRETRUCK. 2. FAILURE HAPPENED ONCE 3. FORD REPLACED ENTIRE ENGINE ASSEMBLY AND MISCELLANEOUS DAMAGED COMPONENTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO CHIEFLAND FORD (916 N. YOUNG BLVD, CHIEFLAND, FL 32626) AND INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE ABS WARNING LIGHT HAD ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. UPON INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, THE MECHANIC INFORMED HIM THAT THE ABS MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THE REPLACEMENT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND CALLED THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER AGREED WITH THE DEALER AND CONFIRMED THAT THE ABS MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. CONSUMER STATED BRAKES WERE BAD AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TWICE FOR A RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL. WHY HAS FORD NOT YET REPLACED/REPAIRED MY AIRBAG? I WAS NOTIFIED YEARS AGO OF POTENTIAL DEATH FROM EXPLODING AIRBAG, YET FORD HAS DONE NOTHING TO RECTIFY THIS.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE HEAD RESTRAINT IN THE FRONT SEATS SHOULD HAVE BEEN DESIGNED DIFFERENTLY. SHE STATED THAT THEY PROTRUDE FORWARD TOO MUCH AND MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE TO DRIVE BECAUSE HER HEAD AND BACK ARE NOT STRAIGHT OR ALIGNED. SHE BELIEVES THAT THE HEAD RESTRAINTS SHOULD BE FLATTER. WE HAVE A 2009 FORD FUSION AND I NOTICED HAIR LINE CRACKS IN ALL THE RIM'S, TOOK IN TO DEALER WHO TOOK PICTURES AND SENT OFF TO FORD THEY CAME BACK AND SAID IT WAS ROAD HAZARD DAMAGE AND WOULD NOT COVER. ALL THIS WAS DONE DURING THE FIRST YEAR OF THE WARRANTY.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRUNK WAS INOPERABLE AND ITS DESIGN MADE IT DIFFICULT TO CLOSE. SHE STATED THAT THE TRUNK REQUIRED GREAT FORCE IN ORDER FOR IT TO SHUT PROPERLY. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE TRUNK POPPED OPEN. IN ADDITION, THE PAINT ON THE VEHICLE WAS CHIPPING AND BEGINNING TO PEEL. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 1,800.
FRONT SEAT HEAD RESTRAINTS ARE MOUNTED AT AN EXTREME ANGLE WHICH FORCES YOUR HEAD FORWARD AT AN UNCOMFORTABLE ANGLE. THE HEAD RESTRAINTS NEED TO BE MORE STRAIGHT UP AND DOWN INSTEAD OF CURVING FORWARD. *TR

TRIP COMPUTER, ELECTRONIC AUTOMATIC TEMPERATURE CONTROL,CRUISE CONTROL ETC. FINALLY, I HAVE GOT A LOT OF REASON TO BUY NEW FORD FIESTA BECAUSE NEW FORD FIESTA IS CAR OF THE YEAR 2009. I KNOW PAINT WARRANTY; FORD PAINT SURFACE WARRANTY PROTECTS OUR VEHICLES PAINT FROM CORROSION AND DEFECTIVE WORK. THIS DOESN'T COVER SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES CAUSED BY THE DRIVER. ABSOLUTELY I AGREE WITH YOU. BUT MY PROBLEM IS DIFFERENT AND MIXED PROBLEM. IN JANUARY I RELEASED THIS PROBLEM. I WENT TO TURKEY/HATAY OVALI FORD VEHICLE COMPANY. WHEN THE REPRESENTATIVE OF PAINT DEPARTMENT LOOK AT MY CAR AND THEY SAID TO ME WE COULD MEND THIS PROBLEM AS PAINTING THIS SIDE. TAKATA RECALL - MY DEALERSHIP HAS NOT PROVIDED REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED THE AIRBAGS STATING THAT REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FROM FORD. THIS IS A DANGER TO ME.

2009 FORD FUSION FRONT END PULL OR DRIFT. I HAVE A FUSION THAT WILL LITERALLY RUN OFF THE ROAD WHEN HANDS ARE NOT CORRECTING THE STEERING. WHILE EVERYONE KNOWS IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH NO HANDS ON THE WHEEL, WE ALL DO IT FROM TIME TO TIME AND IN MOST CARS THIS IS NOT A CONCERN SINCE THE CAR WILL GO STRAIGHT OVER A CONSIDERABLE DISTANCE. THIS CAR HOWEVER WILL RUN OFF THE ROAD IN A MATTER OF SECONDS AND IS A CONSIDERABLE SAFETY HAZARD. FORD'S RESPONSE TO THE PROBLEM IS TO INSTRUCT THEIR DEALERS THROUGH AN INTERNAL MEMO, NOT TO "ATTEMPT A REPAIR FOR THIS PROBLEM." THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A COMPANY THAT IS TOUTING THEIR CARS TO BE VASTLY IMPROVED OVER TOYOTA AND HONDA. AT LEAST THEIR CARS GO STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD WITH LITTLE EFFORT HAVING TO BE GIVEN BY THE DRIVER. I HAVE DRIVEN TWO OF THESE CARS (ONE OF WHICH I OWN) AND BOTH DO THE SAME THING. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED AND A REPAIR FOUND. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION SPORT (NA). THE CONTACT OBSERVED THAT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD WAS CRACKED AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN PARKED FOR TWENTY FOUR HOURS. THERE WERE NO CRACKS PRIOR TO THIS DISCOVERY. THE CRACK ORIGINATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD AND EXTENDED ACROSS TO THE CENTER OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER, BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE REPAIR WOULD COST $600. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT A ROCK MAY HAVE STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD AND CAUSED THE FAILURE ALONG WITH THE HEAT. THE DEFECT WAS VISIBLE ON THE WINDSHIELD DURING EXCESSIVE OUTDOOR TEMPERATURES. THE WINDSHIELD WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE SERVICE WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE IS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AGAIN FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIR. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 1,300.
