I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE ONE SATURDAY MORNING AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND AFTER I PUMPED THE BRAKES A FEW TIMES THE BRAKES STARTED TO WORK AGAIN SO I IMMEDIATELY CALLED A MECHANIC TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD BEFORE BRINGING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVING. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTRACT CALLED PAT MILLIKEN FORD (9600 TELEGRAPH RD, REDFORD CHARTER TWP, MI 48239), AND WAS INFORMED PARTS WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 142,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RECENTLY WHILE ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT A STOP SIGN, THE BRAKES FAILED TO OPERATE AS DESIGNED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND WENT TO THE FLOORBOARD BEFORE STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKE SYSTEM CHECK WARNING LIGHT, THE ABS WARNING LIGHT AND AN UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHT WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE FIVE STAR FORD OF DALLAS LOCATED AT 8900 PRESIDENT GEORGE BUSH TURNPIKE, DALLAS, TX 75252, WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT A BRAKE SPECIALIST WOULD CHECK THE VEHICLE. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT EITHER THE ABS OR THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT MODULES MAY NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 123,000.
WHEN DRIVING STEERING INTERMITTENTLY HAS GONE OUT WITH 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' APPEARING ON THE SCREEN, USUALLY RESTARTING THE CAR WOULD FIX IT. NOW GOING TO WORK CAR DIDN'T HAVE POWER STEERING, AFTER RESTARTING ADVANCETRAC CAME ON AS WELL AND NOW POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT IS ON PERMANENTLY
I HAVE FORD FUSION 2010 BOUGHT USED AND DRIVING IT FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR AND 4 MONTHS NOW. FOR THE LAST THREE DAYS IN A ROW THE BREAK GOES DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND GETS OUT OF CONTROL, BREAK FAILURE APPEARS ON THE DASHBOARD WHILE DRIVING. YOU TOTALLY FEEL LIKE IT IS GOING TO CRUSH WITH THE CAR INFRONT OF YOU. IN MY CASE I HAVE TO TURN ON EMERGENCY LIGHT AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE. AND WHEN I RESTART THE ENGINE AND DRIVE AND IT COMES BACK TO NORMAL. THIS IS REALLY VERY DENGEROUS IF IT IS IN HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC AND IN DRIVING BETWEEN CARS. WHEN I SEARCH ABOUT THIS ISSUE I FOUND A CBS NEWS ON YOUTUBE PUBLISHED DECEMBER 2019 THAT FORD WAS IS RECALLING FORD FUSION FROM 2006 TO 2020 ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE ABOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL MADE WITH THIS ISSUE AND TOLD ME THAT TO FIX THE CAR AND KEEP THE RECEIPT FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD FUSION SE ON A HIGHWAY AND SUDDENLY THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO TURN INTO A LOCAL SHOPPING MALL. AN ALERT POPPED UP IN THE DASH THAT SAID SERVICE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING. I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD SERVICE COMPANY AND THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS A RECALL ON THE RACK AND PINION/ STEERING GEAR FOR MY CAR MODEL. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THIS WAS A RECALL AND UNFORTUNATELY A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE I HAD. HOWEVER, I FOUND OUT THAT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, AND WAS INFORMED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS MYSELF. I CALLED THE FORD COMPANY AND EXPLAINED TO THEM THE ISSUE THINKING THAT THEY WOULD SIMPLY ADD MY VEHICLE AND I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WASN'T INCLUDED. I EXPLAINED TO THEM HOW THEY COULD CALL MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHERE MY CAR WAS BEING REPAIRED TO CONFIRM WHAT I SAID WAS TRUE, HOWEVER, I WAS TOLD THEY WOULDN'T DO THAT. I ASKED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR AND THE SUPERVISOR CALLED A DAY LATER. SHE TOLD ME THAT AT THIS TIME MY CAR WOULD NOT BE ADDED TO THE RECALL. I ASKED HER HOW AND WHY THEY CAME TO THIS CONCLUSION AND SHE INFORMED ME THAT THIS WAS PROTOCOL. I ASKED HER IF THEY DID ANY RESEARCH INTO WHY MY VIN WAS NOT ADDED THE FIRST TIME, OR DOUBLE CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS AN OVERSIGHT AS TO WHY MY VIN WAS NOT ADDED AND SHE TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT LOOK INTO MY ISSUE OR CLAIM, SHE JUST LISTENED TO THE CALL, AND CALLED ME BACK TO INFORM ME THAT AT THIS TIME THE WOULD NOT ADD MY CAR TO THE RECALL LIST. I ASKED HER WHO DECIDED TO ADD THE VEHICLES WAS IT FORD OR NHTSA AND SHE INFORMED ME SHE DID NOT KNOW. I AGAIN ASK HER HOW I CAN GET SOMEONE TO REVIEW THIS ISSUE AS THIS IS A SERIOUS RECALL AND MATTER. I EXPLAINED TO HER THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE STEERING WENT OUT. SHE TOLD ME TO CONTACT NHTSA.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT.CAN NOT AFFORD TO GET IT FIXED!!!
POWER STEERING HAS GONE OUT 3 TIMES. WHEN IT HAS HAPPENED I USUALLY STOP THE CAR, TURN IT OFF, THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND IT IS BACK.
THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING HAS FAILED. WHEN I START THE VEHICLE I GET THE ERROR MESSAGE 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT'. I STARTED RECEIVING THIS ERROR MESSAGE AROUND 70,000 MILES BUT BEFORE I COULD TURN THE CAR OFF AND THE ERROR MESSAGE WOULD BE GONE AND THE POWER STEERING WOULD KICK IN AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THE EPAS HAS NOW COMPLETELY FAILED. LIKE MANY OTHER FUSION OWNERS HAVE FOUND, ALL FORD DEALERS AROUND THE COLUMBUS, OHIO AREA QUOTE THE REPAIR PRICE BEING IN EXCESS OF $1,600.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, I CAME UP ON MY TURN AND TRIED TO SLOW DOWN. THE BRAKES STARTED TO APPLY AND THEN WENT SOFT AND THE PEDAL SANK TO THE FLOORBOARD AS I CONTINUED TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS AFRSID THAT I COULD NOT SLOW DOWN ENOUGH TO SAFELY MAKE THE TURN. I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES REPEATEDLY TO SLOW DOWN, BUT I HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP AS THE BRAKES WOULD NOT FULLY STOP THE CAR. CHECKED BRAKE FLUID LEVEL WHICH WAS ABOVE MINIMUM, BUT FILLED TO MAXIMUM AND TRIED TO BLEED BRAKES. DROVE HOME VERY CAUTIOUSLY. REPLACED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH DID NOT FIX BRAKE PROBLEM. RESEARCHED PROBLEM FURTHER ONLINE AND FOUND RECALL ON 2006-2010 FORD FUSION, HOWEVER THE BUILD DATES DO NOT INCLUDE THIS CAR BY APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS. OUR FORD DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO HONOR THE RECALL FOR THIS REASON. HAVE ALSO READ OTHER CLAIMS OF 2011 FORD FUSIONS ALSO HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. IT IS QUITE EVIDENT THAT THE RECALL DID NOT EXTEND FAR ENOUGH TO PROTECT OTHER FUSION OWNERS FROM THIS TERRIFYING SAFETY HAZARD. CONSIDERING TAKING THIS MATTER TO LOCAL MEDIA AS WELL.
AFTER MY DAUGHTER STARTED HER 2010 FUSION, PUT IT IN DRIVE AND WENT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL STEERING WHEN THE WHEEL LOCKED CAUSING HER TO HIT A MAILBOX BEFORE BEING ABLE TO STOP. AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND STARTING IT AGAIN STEERING OPERATED NORMAL. THIS SCARES THE CRAP OUT OF ME WHAT HAPPENS IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE SHE'S DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY.
MY WIFE SAID SOMETIMES HER CAR DOESN'T WANT TO STOP AND THE PEDAL DOESN'T FEEL RIGHT. A FEW DAYS AGO A CAR IN FRONT OF HER MADE A SUDDEN STOP SO SHE HAD TO HIT BRAKES AND HER PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR SO SHE HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. FROM THAT TIME FORWARD THE CAR HAD NO BRAKES WITH PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR. I REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND IT DIDN'T CHANGE ANYTHING SO I TOOK IT TO LONG LEWIS FORD IN HOOVER AL. THEY CHARGED TO BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM WHICH DIDN'T CHANGE NOTHING....STILL NO BRAKES. NEXT, THEY SAID THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER I INSTALLED COULD BE DEFECTIVE SO THEY CHARGED TO PUT ON ANOTHER ONE....THEY SAID THAT THE CAR DOES HAVE BRAKES BUT PEDAL STEAL NOT RIGHT BECAUSE THE PEDAL GOES HALFWAY TO THE FLOOR. THE GUY MIKE CALLED AND SAID THAT THE CAR HAS BRAKES BUT THE SHOP MANAGER FEELS LIKE THE ABS PUMP IS BAD SO I TOLD THEM TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE I WANT TO BE CERTAIN THAT THE CAR IS SAFE FOR MY WIFE TO DRIVE. THEY REPLACED THE ABS PUMP AND THEY SAID THE BRAKES ARE GREAT WHICH MEANS THE PUMP WAS BAD ALL ALONG. THE FINAL BILL WAS $2119.00 WHICH BLEW MY MIND. I CHECKED TO SEE IF MAYBE THERE WAS A RECALL ON A 2010 FORD FUSION AND IT WAS ONE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM I HAD BUT MY CAR VIN DIDN'T MATCH THE RECALL. SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR WITH THE SAME PROBLEM BUT MY VIN DIDN'T MATCH THE RECALL. I TRULY FEEL LIKE ALL THE 2010 FUSION SHOULD BE RECALLED AND I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY ALL THIS MONEY. IT'S NOT RIGHT....PLEASE RESPOND AND HELP. MY # I [XXX] . HAD THIS FIXED LESS THAN A YEAR AGO TO THE TUNE OF $1700. HERE WE ARE AGAIN. IT'S JUST A MATTER OF TIME WHEN THE POWER STEERING FAILS AGAIN. SERVICE ADVANCETRAC WARNING ILLUMINATED WHILE ACCELERATING ON DRY INTERSTATE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. PEOPLE WHO CAN'T AFFORD THE FIX WILL END UP IN AN ACCIDENT.
HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT AND ABS SYSTEM FAILURE. FORD RECALLED THE SAME SYSTEMS FOR THEIR 2010 FUSION. WHY IS MY 2010 FORD FUSION NOT INCLUDED??? FORD MUST EXPAND THEIR RECALL.
BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED, LOST ALL HYDRAULIC FUNCTION. FOUND RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE BUT FORD IS DENYING THERE WAS A RECALL. BECAUSE MY CAR WAS NOT BUILT WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME. THE RECALL # 19S54 IS EXACTLY WHAT MY CAR IS DOING AND THEY DENY A PROBLEM, YET WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO SMITHTOWN FORD FOR SERVICE THE TOLD ME THE ABS HCU NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 1300.00 I NEED FORD TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS REPAIR
I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER. OVER THE YEARS, AFTER A HARD BRAKING INCIDENT, THE VEHICLE'S ABS SYSTEM WOULD SIGNAL 'ERROR' IT WOULD THEN CLEAR ANYWHERE FROM A MINUTE OR SO TO UP TO A DAY OR MORE. ON THE MOST RECENT HARD BRAKING INCIDENT, THE ABS WHEN INTO ERROR MODE AND AFTER SEVERAL WEEKS HAS NOT CLEARED THE ERROR. I NOTED THAT THERE IS A RECALL #19V90400 FOR MY MODEL MAKE AND YEAR BUT I AM BEING TOLD THAT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT INCLUDED. IT SEEMS ODD SINCE I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS ABS ERROR ISSUE AFTER HARD BRAKING, TO THE POINT OF SLIGHT TIRE SCREECH, FOR LITERALLY THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE. IT FINALLY APPEARS TO BE TO THE POINT WHERE THE ERROR WILL NOT CLEAR.
I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER ON MY CAR CONCERNING THE ABS WAS DEFECTED. I CONTACTED A CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AFTER GETTING THE LETTER TO LET THEM KNOW MY CAR IS EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES. SOMETIMES WHEN YOU GO TO APPLY THE BRAKE IT WOULD GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BOARD AND FEEL AS THOUGH IT ACCELERATES. THEY TOLD ME I WOULD BE GETTING A SECOND LETTER WHEN THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED. LAST NIGHT I WAS DRIVING ALONE IN THE CAR ON HWY 72 IN CORINTH MS. I SEEN THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME GIVE A TURN SIGNAL TO TURN RIGHT. I WENT TO PUT ON THE BRAKE AND THE BRAKES DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. TO AVOID HITTING THE PERSON I HAD TO LEAVE THE HIGHWAY WHICH RESULTED ME HITTING 3 CURBS AND FINALLY THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IN A FLOWER BED AT THE RIB SHACK RESTAURANT. AS I NOW FROM THE INCIDENT I AM SUFFERING FROM LOWER BACK PAIN, SHOULDER AND NECK PAIN. MY CAR WAS DAMAGED FROM WRECK. DRIVER SIDE FRONT RIM AND BACK RIM DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR, BOTH TIRES CUT, WHEEL COVERS DAMAGED DRIVER SIDE OF FRONT BUMPER FELL TO THE GROUND. A CITY COP WAS NICE ENOUGH TO POP IT BACK IN PLACE BUT HE SAID IT WOULD NOT STAY BECAUSE THE CLIPS WERE BROKEN. THEIR WAS ANOTHER PART A BRACKET OR SOMETHING BROKE OFF FROM UNDERNEATH THE CAR. I HAD TO LEAVE MY CAR IN CORINTH MS BECAUSE IT WAS NOT DRIVEABLE. THIS BRAKE DEFAULT COULD HAD ENDED MY LIFE LAST NIGHT OR THE INNOCENT LADY THAT WAS TURNING IN FRONT OF ME. VERY THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE BUT FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD BE RELIABLE FOR ALL THE DAMAGES TO MY CAR AND GET THE PARTS HERE TO REPLACE THE ABS. I AM DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE AND THAT HE WOULD RECEIVE A SECOND NOTICE ONCE THE PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FARROW-WARD FORD INC. (1524 CITY AVE N, RIPLEY, MS 38663) WHERE HE WAS GIVEN THE SAME INFORMATION AS THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD DEPRESS TO THE FLOOR BOARD AND THE ABS WARNING LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS HIS BRAKE PEDAL AS THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HIM BEGAN TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP DESPITE APPLYING HIS BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONTACT VEERED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD, HIT A FEW CURBS WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SPIN OUT. THE VEHICLE FINALLY CAME TO A HALT AFTER HE HIT A FLOWER BED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED PAIN TO HIS LOWER BACK, BOTH SHOULDER BLADES AND HIS NECK. THE CONTACT DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT REMAINED IN THEIR POSSESSION. THE CONTACT WENT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT HE COULD HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET AND RECEIVED A REIMBURSEMENT THROUGH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT HE HAD BEEN INFORMED BY BOTH THEM AND THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HIM TO CONTACT HIS INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 215,000. *DT *AS
THE POWER ASSIST WARNING HAS COME ON 2 X NOW CAUSING ME TO HAVE NO POWER STEERING, ONCE I TURN THE CAR OFF AN BACK ON IT IS FINE AGAIN FOR A BIT THEN WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. ONE TIME IT HAPPENED CAR WAS STATIONARY AN WAS JUST PUTTING IN REVERSE, THE OTHER WAS DRIVING DOWN MY SIDE. SO LUCKILY NOT ON A CITY STREET OR HIGHWAY AT HIGHER SPEED. THE STEERING FLUID IS FINE IT, I CHECKED THAT. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED REGARDING THIS AN SAFETY WITH DRIVING. AN I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS ETC.
After taking my car in for the recall on the Hydraulic system on the brakes which it them for ever to send out the second letter for the repairs. During the waiting period I had to leave the road to keep from hitting someone because of brake failure. I have notify Ford Motor Company of the problem right after they sent the first letter. I had damaged to my car that they refused to help with. They sent me a form to sign that said I would not hold Ford Motor Company responsible or Ford Techs should they damaged the RCM when removing to send to their labs. Which I refused to sign because I did talk to a mechanic that worked Ford motor. He stated that the slight wrong move or bump could damaged the main board and it was an very expensive part. Ford Motor Company resolution to fix the recall problem was to bleed out the DOT 3 brake fluid and replace it with DOT 4. I still have brake issue if I am driving in the rain or hit a bump in the road. Now I am having a problem with brake fluid leaking since they switched the fluid. I am going to have a mechanic check to see were the leak is coming from. We own this car 10 years and was satisfied with the car and kept it when we purchased an SUV. Good motor in the car. After dealing with Ford Motor Company about the accident with my car and the other recalls I regret we did not trade it in, but I would have more regret selling it to someone knowing that it could be a danger to their life as it was mine. Even though the car does have a good motor I will never purchase another Ford or purchase and make of any car from any Ford dealership due to the way Ford Motor Company handle my brake recall that cost me money to have the repairs to my 2010 Ford Fusion.
I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL ON MOST 2010 FORD FUSION BRAKE CONTROL MODULE. ONCE THE DEALERSHIP COMPLETED THE REPAIR, NOW THEY SAY THE MASTER CYLINDER IS NOW ALSO LEAKING WHICH THEY AGREED IT WAS NOT WHEN THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN.

WHILE PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE WAS COMING TO A STOP THEN HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT HALF WAY DOWN BEFORE CATCHING AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP BEFORE HAVING AN INCIDENT.THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES.MOST OF THE TIME IS WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS A BUMP IN THE ROAD WHILE BREAKING.AFTERWARDS STOPPING AND BRAKING DISTANCE WAS NORMAL. THIS MADE IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE SAFELY OUT OF TRAFFIC AND TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BY USING MANUAL STEERING. FORD DEALERSHIP REPORTS A FAULT WITHIN THE CONTROL MODULE FOR THE ENTIRE STEERING SYSTEM. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL OF VEHICLE, TO INCLUDE A RECALL FROM FORD FOR 2011 AND 2012 FORD FUSION POWER STEERING SYSTEMS. FOR WHATEVER REASON, THE 2010 FUSION WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL AND AFTER EVEN A BRIEF INTERNET SEARCH OF THE ISSUE, IT DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE . THIS HAS RESULTED IN A $1800 REPAIR BILL FOR A CAR WITH 62K MILES.

I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR. I CALLED THE MECHANIC I USE AND HE TOLD ME THAT FORD RECALLED CARS FOR THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED MIKE PATTON FORD AND WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR WAS ONE NOT RECALLED FOR. THIS. I TOWED MY CARHOME. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD HELP FIXTHIS PROBLEM.

I WAS ABLE TO MANUALLY STEER VEHICLE WITH NO POWER STEERING, HOWEVER IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO MY WIFE OR DAUGHTER THEY WOULD HAVE LOST CONTROL, IT WAS NOT EASY. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER STATE OUR CAR IS NOT COVERED FOR THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT BECAUSE OF THE VIN NUMBER. WE HAVE PAID THE DEALER FOR THESE REPAIRS. A FEW DAYS AGO AS I WAS LEAVING MY HOUSE, I REVERSED TO GET OUT OF MY PARKING THEN I WENT TO DRIVE AND IMMEDIATELY MY BREAKS WENT OUT A THIRD TIME, THIS TIME THE ABS LIGHT, BREAK LIGHT, TRACTION LIGHTS AND "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC LIGHTS CAME ON THE DASH" EVERY TIME I WAS REQUIRED TO USE THE EMERGENCY BREAK TO SLOW AND PARK THE CAR. THIS IS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE THAT COULD HAVE ENDED TAKING MY LIFE OR SOMEONE ELSE'S. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND THEY TOLD ME THAT MY MODEL YEAR DOES NOT QUALIFY BASED ON THE VIN NUMBER. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW IT DOESN'T QUALIFY SINCE, IT IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS DOCUMENTED IN THOUSANDS OF IDENTICAL MODELS. I AM EXPERIENCING THE LOSS OF PEDAL RESISTANCE ASSOCIATED WITH THE STICKING ABS VALVE BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND GAVE THE CONTACT THE SAME INFORMATION AS THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 137,000.
