I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY IN MY 2010 FORD FUSION ON HIGHWAY 31 AND CAME UP ON A STOP LIGHT, WENT TO PRESS MY BRAKES AND THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE FOR THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS, I DID MY RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE 2010 FUSION WAS RECALLED AND THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. MY CAR DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL AS IT WASN'T BUILT IN THE TIME FRAME OF GETTING THAT RECALL. I ALMOST RAN THE RED LIGHT AND THOUGHT I WASN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR AS IT IS NOT SAFE FOR THE ROAD! *TR
VEHICLE DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP WHEN BRAKE IS APPLIED. PEDAL TRAVELS TO FLOOR BEFORE EVENTUALLY BRAKING. HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. SIMILAR TO VEHICLE CONDUCT COVERED UNDER RECALL 19S54; HOWEVER, MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF THAT RECALL NOTICE. THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND ON LOCAL/STATE ROADWAYS. I BELIEVE THIS ISSUE IS A RESULT OF THE FAULTY HCU, AS WITH OTHER VEHICLE MODEL/YEARS SIMILAR TO MINE. FORD WILL NOT ADDRESS ISSUE SINCE MY VIN IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE ALREADY-ISSUED SAFETY RECALL.
SUDDEN POWER STEERING FAILURE. STARTED GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING 25MPH. STOPPED THE CAR THEN TURNED IT BACK ON, IT HAD 0 POWER STEERING AVAILABLE AFTER THAT. ENDANGERED MY 6 MONTH OLD. SAME ISSUE AS EVERYONE ELSE. POWER STEERING GOES OUT, SAME PART RECALLED IN 2011-2013. SAME PART IS IN MY VEHICLE. PLEASE MAKE FORD HELP US WITH THE 1600-2000 COST OF REPLACEMENT. *TR
THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHEN THE BREAKS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. THE MECHANIC FOUND A PROBLEM WITH THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT WITH THE BREAKS. THE PROBLEM MATCHED EXACTLY WITH RECALL NUMBER 19S54, WHICH WAS MADE FOR THE 2010 FORD FUSION. HOWEVER, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE IS A 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY. SINCE IT IS THE SAME ISSUE AS THE ORIGINAL RECALL, THE FORD FUSION HYBRID SHOULD BE ADDED TO THE RECALL LIST. *TR
A/C DOES NOT BLOW COLD AIR EVEN IF THE COMPRESSOR IS WORKING AND IF IS FULL OF REFRIGERANT. HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO REPAIR SHOP AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIND ISSUES. HOWEVER, CHECKED ON LINE HTTPS://WWW.CARGURUS.COM/CARS/DISCUSSION-T40391_DS932098) AND FOUND THAT, AT LEAST 35, OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. SOME HAVE SPENT LARGE AMOUNTS OF MONEY TO HAVE IT CORRECTED ONLY FOR IT TO COME BACK AGAIN. IN DOING MORE RESEARCH, IT SEEMS THAT SOMEONE HAS DETERMINED THAT IF YOU TURN YOUR LIGHTS ON BEFORE STARTING THE CAR-ALONG WITH THE FOG LIGHTS) THIS WILL CORRECT THE ISSUE. WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO DRAIN OUR BATTERIES WITH THE LIGHTS ON AND IS THIS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL UNIT WHERE TWO ITEMS ARE TIGHT TOGETHER. WE FEEL THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD DEVELOP SOME TYPE OF A REBOOT IN THE SYTEM AND RECALL THE VEHICLES TO HAVE THE SYSTEM UPDATED TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE.

RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD IN JANUARY 2020 STATING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY 2010 FORD FUSION. A VALVE IN THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT THE OF THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING MAY BE STUCK OPEN. IT'S BEEN SIX MONTHS AND STILL THIS HAS NOT YET BEEN RESOLVED! NOT A VERY COMFORTABLE SITUATION TO BE DRIVING A CAR THAT COULD HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES! A YEAR AGO WE LOST THE POWER STEERING ON MY CAR..ALMOST RESULTING IN AN ACCIDENT...REPORTED THIS TO NHTSA AND TO FORD...NEVER HEARD BACK FROM EITHER...AND IT COST $1800 TO REPAIR...SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED AS FORD DID RECALL THE 2011 AND 2012'S...BUT IGNORED THE 2010 WITH THE SAME PROBLEM! I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN THIS BRAKE ISSUE CAN BE REPAIRED? FORD SENDS A RECALL LETTER IN JANUARY AND DOES NOT SEND ANY UPDATES OR INFORMATION ON THE RECALL! *TR
1.) C/S AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON - LOCAL DEALERSHIP FOUND PASSENGER AIRBAG IN B PILLAR IS CAUSE - NOT RELATED TO RECENTLY COMPLETED RECALL 19S34 ON PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATER NPA1908055946 PER DEALERSHIP. NOT SURE WHY THE AIRBAG SYSTEMS IN THESE VEHICLES ARE PROBLEMATIC, BUT THE OWNER SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHARGES FOR REPLACEMENT OF THESE PROBLEMATIC PARTS. POSSIBLE NEW RECALL NEEDED. 2.) RECALL 15V34 RELATING TO LEAKING CANISTER PURGE VALVE - FORD AUTHORIZED AN UPDATE TO THE VEHICLE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE CALIBRATIONS TO HELP PREVENT PRESSURE CYCLES IN THE FUEL TANK - THESE CALIBRATIONS WERE PERFORMED HOWEVER THE PURGE VALVE HAS STILL FAILED. THE PART 9U5Z-9C915-H WAS ORIGINALLY RECOMMENDED 4 YEARS AGO WHEN THE RECALL WAS ISSUED BUT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE AT THE TIME, ON SPECIAL ORDER. VEHICLE OWNER REQUESTED REPAIR / PART REPLACEMENT REPEATEDLY BUT WAS TOLD THE PART REMAINED UNAVAILABLE AND WAS NOT AN ISSUE WITH THE RE-CALIBRATION UNLESS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. THE DEALERSHIP CLOSED THE RECALL WITHOUT REPLACING THE PART - 6 MONTHS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAUSE IS THE NEED FOR A REPLACEMENT CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND THE OWNER IS NOW RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT COSTS. RECALL SHOULD BE HONORED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS POWER STEERING ASSIST AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC AND TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE CLOCK SPRING AND THE ELECTRONIC STEERING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. ZOELLNER FORD-LINCOLN OF BEATRICE LOCATED AT 4115 NORTH S 6TH ST, BEATRICE, NE 68310, 402-223-2547, WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR SPONTANEOUSLY OPENED AND UPON RETURN WOULD NOT LATCH. LUCKILY SHE WAS ONLY IN THE DRIVEWAY. I LOOKED ONLINE AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THIS CAR. *TR

WHILE DRIVING BOTH ON CITY STREETS AND ON HIGHWAY THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED WITH THE PEDAL GOING TO THE FLOOR AND NO SLOWING OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER EACH OF THESE INCIDENTS THE SYSTEM REBUILDS PRESSURE AND FUNCTIONS AS IT SHOULD FOR A WHILE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A FAULTY VALVE IN THE SYSTEM. THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY WITH NO RESOLUTION OFFERED. FURTHER RESEARCH SHOWS THE COMPANY IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AND HAS A REFERENCE NUMBER OF 19S54 FOR THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO FIX THE PROBLEM. *TR
PROBLEM STARTED ABOUT JUNE 2020. ABS & TRACTION SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS COME ON AT ENGINE START. BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL IS LONGER THAN NORMAL IN ON ROAD USE. APPEARS TO BE THE SAME AS FORD RECALL NO.19S54 BUT THIS (FUSION HYBRID) CAR ISN'T COVERED.
PULLED OUT OF PARKING SPACE, MADE LEFT TURN, WENT ABOUT 50 FT. AND CAR TOTALLY DIED. NO BATTERY POWER AT ALL. NO DASH LIGHTS WHEN KEY IS ON, NO HAZARD LIGHTS, WON'T START, NO BATTERY POWER AT ALL. REMOVED BATTERY TERMINALS FOR A FEW MINUTES AND REPLACED. BATTERY POWER RESTORED, CAR STARTED AND EVERYTHING WORKED. NO RESETTING CLOCKS OR RADIO.*DT*JB *TR
AS I WAS DRIVING THE BRAKES SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. LUCKILY I WAS IN A PARKING LOT. ADVANCED TRACTION, ABS, AND CHECK BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON. VERY DANGEROUS STUFF. *TR
Car was checked for recall 15S34 and incorrectly determined to not have a problem. This recall deals with the gas tank cracking open. This car will pool gas on the ground under the car. Ford says since this was previously looked at, even if the determination was false, they will not take any action or help with it. Please assist - this is a known problem and should be repaired under the recall.
WHILE DRIVING STEERING WENT OUT AND BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER OFF ROADWAY AND INTO PARKING AREA , SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW /MESSAGE APPEARED ON DASH. *TR
DASH PANEL INDICATED DOOR AJAR, EMERGENCY AND OTHER BRAKES WERE ENGAGED, TIRE PRESSURE LOW, INTERIOR LIGHTS CAME ON, BLINKERS NO LONGER WORK. THIS ALL HAPPENED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING DOWN A FLAT STREET, 25 MPH, WEATHER WAS 65 DEGREES, DRY WEATHER, DURING THE DAY. *TR
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE ALERT. CAUSING TO HAVE NO POWER STEERING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNDISCLOSED SPEED, THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND IT BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUED DRIVING TO HER RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO COURTESY FORD CONYERS (1636 DOGWOOD DRIVE CONYERS, GA 30013, 866-792-2917) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A FAILURE WITH THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
MY CARS BACK BRAKES LOCKED UP DESTROYING MY BACK CALIPERS PADS AND ROTORS. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE TO THE SHOP AND THE INFORMED ME THAT THE ABS MODULE WAS MALFUNCTIONING AND CAUSED THIS DAMAGE. WITH SOME RESEARCH I FOUND OUT THAT FORD ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM FOR EVERY FORD FUSION UP TO 07/09 MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED 10/09 AND NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS THE EXACT SAME AS WHAT THEY RECALLED BY MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. *TR
LOSS OF BRAKES PEDAL GOES TO FLOOR
MY FAMILY FINANCED OUR 2010 FUSION SEL IN SEPTEMBER OF 2011, WAS CERTIFIED USED WITH 7,900 MILES, PURCHASED WITH EXTENDED WARRANTY AS WELL. MY MOM AND MY SISTER DROVE THE CAR FOR ABOUT 7 YEARS, THEY LOVED IT AND HAD NO ISSUES WITH IT. THEY PASSED IT DOWN TO ME IN 2018 WHEN I GOT MY LICENSE, MY MOTHER TOLD ME HOW TO TAKE CARE OF OUR CARS AND WHAT NOT TO DO, WE DON'T ABUSE OUR VEHICLES. THE FIRST MAJOR ISSUE WAS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT COMPLETELY WENT OUT AFTER ACCELERATING FROM A GREEN LIGHT IT FELT LIKE MY TRANSMISSION WAS GOING TO FALL OUT OF MY CAR, WITH THE RPM JUMPING UP AND DOWN, SHIFTED HORRIBLY. I THEN DROVE MY POSSESSED CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALER, THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED THE SAME DAY IN MAY OF 2018 UNDER WARRANTY AND WORKED FINE EVER SINCE (SOMETIMES). THEY SAID THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. EXTREMELY LEAKY 17' RIMS CAUSING MULTIPLE MORNINGS WHERE I WOKE UP TO A FLAT TIRE. FORD SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO EVEN THOUGH IT'S THE SAME STOCK RIMS SINCE WE'VE BOUGHT IT (SAME PROBLEMS EVEN WITH NEW TIRES). TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR FAULT THAT'S BEEN FAULTY SINCE 2018 ESPECIALLY IN THE COLD, TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CLAIMED THEY FIX IT, BUT THEY DIDN'T. AND NOW I FEEL LIKE MY STEERING IS GOING OUT, I SOMETIMES LOSE POWER WHENEVER I TURN LEFT, THE ORANGE STABILITRAK/STABILITY LIGHTS UP ON MY DASH AND IS A LITTLE ROUGH, IN APRIL OF 2020 I TURNED INTO MY DRIVEWAY TURNING LEFT, MY ENGINE COMPLETELY STALLED, IF I WOULDN'T HAVE STRAIGHTENED OUT MY STEERING I WOULD HAVE COMPLETELY HIT THE CORNER OF MY PORCH. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR ON THE FREEWAY, BOTH ENGINE AND STEERING ISSUES? DEALER SAYS IT'S NORMAL AND THAT IT'S FINE. RIGHT.. NOT WHAT CARCOMPLAINTS.COM SAYS I'M 18 ABOUT TO GRADUATE AND GO TO COLLEGE IN SEPTEMBER, I CURRENTLY HAVE NO JOB DUE TO THE QUARANTINE, AND MIGHT HAVE TO CONSIDER PURCHASING A NEW FUSION BEFORE MY CURRENT CAR INJURES/KILLS ME. *TR

THE STEERING ASSIST AND ADVANCE TRACK LIGHT WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MAGUIRE FORD (504 S MEADOW ST, ITHACA, NY 14850, (607) 272-8000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,000.
TWICE IN 2 MONTHS (MARCH 15, 2020 AND MAY 7, 2020) THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT APPEARED IN THE MESSAGE CENTER. BOTH TIMES THE MESSAGE APPEARED WHEN GEAR WAS PUT IN DRIVE OR REVERSE AND CONTINUED TO APPEAR WHEN ATTEMPTING TO BACKUP (REVERSE) OR DRIVE FORWARD ON MAY 7 NOT ONLY DID THE FAULT MESSAGE APPEAR BUT THE CAR ALSO CUT OFF. THIS LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED WITH MY MOM WHO IS 70+ LUCKILY SHE WAS ONLY TRYING TO DRIVE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY TO GET ONTO THE ROAD BUT WHAT IF THIS HAPPENED TO HER OR ME WHILE DRIVING ON A ROAD OR THE HIGHWAY ?!?!? *TR
BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR WITH WEAK BRAKING POWER. IT OCCURS WHILE MOVING AND STATIONARY. BRAKES DO NOT GENERATE SUFFICIENT PRESSURE IN SYSTEM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING WENT OUT COMPLETELY! LUCKILY I WASNT IN AN ACCIDENT.
HCU LEFT FRONT AND RIGHT REAR VALVES ARE POTENTIALLY STUCK CLOSED. MY MECHANIC ATTEMPTED AND FAILED THE ABS SERVICE BLEED PROCEDURE. VERIFIED PRESSURE OUTPUT FROM MASTER CYLINDER (BRAND NEW) TO ABS HCU. MONITORED MAX INPUT PRESSURE WITHIN SPEC AT ABS PRESSURE TRANSDUCER. MECHANIC SUSPECTS HCU FAULT LIKELY RELATED TO RECENT RECALL. I CALLED FORD AND WHILE IT MATCHED THE DESCRIPTION OF THE MENTIONED RECALL, MY VIN NUMBER DID NOT QUALIFY. WAS TOLD TO HAVE THE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED AND KEEP RECEIPT FOR POTENTIAL REIMBURSEMENT IN THE FUTURE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT A LOW SPEED AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE STEERING CEASED WITH AN ONCOMING VEHICLE APPROACHING. THE CONTACT AVOIDED A COLLISION WHILE USING EXTRA EFFORT TO STEER THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE AT 4-5 MPH TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE DIAGNOSIS WAS INCOMPLETE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A SECOND INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND POWER STEERING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. JIM CLICK FORD OF SAHUARITA & GREEN VALLEY (1030 W DUVAL RD, GREEN VALLEY, AZ 85614) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000. *DT*DT *JS*JB
BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPACE, THE STEERING LOCKS UP AND THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST" WARNING APPEARS ON THE DASH....CAN'T CONTROL VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENS..IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THE STEERING IS "LOCKED UP"....HAVE TO TURN OFF IGNITION AND RESTART.... THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES.
VEHICLE DISPLAYS A POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING ERROR AND THEN THE STEERING BECOMES VERY HARD TO MANEUVER. VEHICLE WAS RUNNING, SOMETIMES STATIONARY, SOMETIMES ON A CITY STREET WHILE TURNING. OTHER FORD FUSIONS HAVE HAD A RECALL BUT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TELLS ME THIS VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. SINCE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I THINK IT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
WE WERE DRIVING AND THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH WAS FLASHING AND I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON. DROVE IT HOME AND PARKED IT. MY WIFE DROVE IT A FEW MONTHS LATER AND HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE.
upon starting my car the electronic assist stopped working and would not come back on. I had to get the whole steering rack replaced at around 110,000 miles because it is highly unsafe. parts and labor was $900.

SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON DASH. POWER STEERING ASSIST ALSO CAME ON DASH MESSAGE. I COULD NOT STEER VEHICLE. I COULD BARILY GET IT BACK INTO MY GARAGE. FUSION PUT IN REVERSE LIGHTS CAME ON AS I MOVED BACKWARD. STEERING LOCKED UP BELIEVE IT IS ELECTRONIC STEERING MODULE
THE POWER STEERING ON MY CAR NO LONGER WORKS. THE VEHICLE INFORMATION CENTER SCREEN READS "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND THEN A YELLOW LIGHT ILLUMINATES FOR "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC". MY CAR HAS BEEN IN GOOD WORKING CONDITION, WELL MAINTAINED, AND RELIABLE UP UNTIL THIS HAPPENED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS RECALLED MY YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL FOR STEERING ISSUES, BUT MY VIN WAS NOT ASSIGNED THEREFORE FORD WILL NOT REPAIR MY CAR. I BELIEVE THIS IS AN ERROR.
I TOOK MY CAR TO GRIFFIN FORD IN TIFTON GA FOR THE AIR BAGS RECALL AND THE FUEL TANK RECALL. THEY FIXED THE AIR BAGS BUT SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE FUEL RECALL. BUT I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT THE CAR WILL BURST GAS OUT WHILE PUMPING AND GAS LEAK UNDER THE CAR. THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. I TOOK IT THE FORD PLACE IN TURNER COUNTY AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE CANISTER VALVE SOLENOID. BUT THEY SAID IT WAS A RECALL ON IT. I'M CONFUSED NOW I GOT TO BUY ONE AND PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED.
MARCH 29TH 2020 I WENT TO LEAVE MY HOME, STARTED MY CAR AND HAD NO POWER STEERING. ADVANCE TRACK CAME ON AND SO IS THE POWER STEERING ASSIST. I'M SO GRATEFUL MY KIDS WERENT IN THE CAR. I'D LIKE TO KNOW WHY THIS ISNT BEING RECALLED AS MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING ON THE 2010 AS WELL. NOT JUST 2011 2012. STEP IT UP FORD.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 257,000.
REQUEST TO ADD VIN # TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID#: 19V904000. BRAKE PEDAL ALWAYS WENT DOWN MORE THAN NORMAL. IN JUNE 2018, HAD REAR BRAKE PADS, CALIPER AND ROTORS REPLACED. OCTOBER 2018, HAD FRONT ROTORS REPLACED, MARCH 2020 HAD REAR BRAKE, CALIPERS AND ROTORS REPLACED AGAIN. MECHANIC BLED THE BRAKES AND COULD NOT ESTABLISH HYDRAULIC PRESSURE, BUT TESTED AND THERE WERE NO LEAKS. MECHANIC SAID THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST BECAUSE THERE IS NO REASON FOR THE BRAKES TO BE REPLACED THIS OFTEN, THE FLUID IS NOT GETTING WHERE IT NEEDS TO BE. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE FORD SERVICE AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY FOR THEM TO BLEED THE BRAKES WHEN I JUST HAD A MECHANIC DO IT. MY MECHANIC CALLED THEM TO EXPLAIN, BUT SINCE THE VIN # IS NOT ON THE RECALL, THEY ARE NOT HANDLING THIS ISSUE PROFESSIONALLY. IT IS THE VALVES WITHIN THE HBS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT THAT IS PROHIBITING THE VALVES FROM CLOSING PROPERLY WHICH IS WHY MY MECHANIC COULD NOT PRESSURIZE THE BRAKE FLUID IN THE SYSTEM. THE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND; THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEREFORE, I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST THIS VIN# BE ADDED TO THIS RECALL SO REPAIRS CAN BE MADE. THEY WILL NEED TO BLEED THE BRAKES ANYWAY AFTER REPLACING THE VALVES IN THE HCU. THIS CAR IS NOT DRIVEN EVERY DAY, AND SAT IN THE GARAGE MOST OF THE TIME FROM 2018 TO MARCH 2020. I DO HAVE RECEIPTS WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF WORK DONE. THIS IS A SCHOOL CAR AND I DON'T WANT TO RISK MY CHILD BEING IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS. INTERMITTENTLY SHOWS BRAKE/ADVANCED TRACTION FAILURE. BRAKE PEDAL MUST BE PUSHED VERY HARD WHEN IT IS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. SOMETIMES THE FAILURES ARE SEVERAL MONTHS APART AND USUALLY GO AWAY AFTER ONE OR TWO RESTARTS. TODAY THE PROBLEM HAPPENED AGAIN BUT I AM UNABLE TO CLEAR IT BY RESTARTING THE CAR. THE CAR WILL NOW HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALER ONCE MORE. I AM NOT BLAMING THE DEALER AS THEY HAVE DONE WHAT THEY CAN. FORD HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM FOR A LONG TIME. THIS VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION SHOULD HAVE BEEN RE PAIRED BY NOW. TODAY'S PROBLEM HAPPENED WHEN DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH ON A CITY ST. IN THE PAST IT MOSTLY HAPPENED WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AFTER IT HAD BEEN PARKED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

I SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL BUT IT WASN'T FOR MY VEHICLE BUT I HAVE SEEN HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE AND NOTHING IS BEING DONE! I HAVE SEEN THINGS ALL THE WAY BACK FROM 2016 ABOUT THE POWER STEERING BEING FAULTY AND NO ONE WILL DO ANYTHING. BUT WHEN INNOCENT PEOPLE AND CHILDREN DIE DUE TO THIS ARE YOU GOING TO FEEL BAD!
