I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT BY THE THIRD DAY AND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS I HAVE A TWO YEAR OLD WHO IS IN THE CAR WITH ME AS WELL WHICH IS NOT SAFE. I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE SINCE 2016 WITH THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE A IT IS VERY PRICEY TO FIX. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THE 2010 BUT IT'S ONE FOR 2011 AND UP!
TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT TURN ON WHEN DAYLIGHT RUNNING LIGHTS ARE ON. PER OWNER'S MANUAL THERE ARE 3 POSITIONS (OFF, PARKING, LOW BEAMS). THE DRL IS ON WHEN: THE IGNITION IS ON, THE HEADLAMP CONTROL IS NOT IN THE LOW BEAM POSITION, AND THE TRASMISSION IS IN OUT OF THE PARK POSITION. THE WARNING IN THE MANUAL STATES: "ALWAYS REMEMBER TO TURN ON YOUR HEADLAMP AT DUSK OR DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THE DRL SYSTEM DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE TAIL LAMPS AND GENERALLY MAY NOT PROVIDE ADEQUETE LIGHTING DURING THESE CONDITIONS DURING THESE CONDITIONS. FAILURE TO ACTIVATE YOUR HEADLAMPS UNDER THESE CONDITIONS MAY RESULT IN A COLLISION." I NOTICED A HEALTHY, ALERT, DRIVER OF THE FORD FUSION FORGETTING TO TURN ON THE HEADLAMP TO LOW BEAM. HE SAID THEY WERE ON, BUT IN FACT THE DRL WAS ON, BECAUSE IF THE LOW BEAM IS NOT ON, THE DRL IS USUALLY ON. WHEN DRIVING, WE NOTICED MANY FUSION MOVING CARS AT NIGHT TIME WITHOUT THEIR TAIL LIGHTS ON. WE BELIEVE IT IS BECAUSE THE DRL COMES ON AUTOMATICALLY AND PEOPLE FORGET TO TURN THEIR LOW BEAM LIGHTS ON BECAUSE THE DRL MAKES IT SEEM LIKE LOW BEAM IS ALREADY ON. I NOTICED THIS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO WHEN WE WERE ALMOST REAR-ENDED AND I DISCOVERED THE LOW BEAMS WERE NOT ON (BUT THE DRL WAS ON). SEE ATTACHED OWNER MANUAL. PER OWNER MANUAL, THIS IS BY DESIGN. REPAIR IS NOT NEEDED. WE TOOK THIS TO A MECHANIC WHO ADVISED IS A DESIGN ISSUE AND NOT A REPAIR ISSUE. WE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED TO CONTACT THE DEALER.

THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HER DAUGHTER THE DRIVE, WHOM WAS ATTEMPTING TO PARK THE VEHICLE AND WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SURGED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE ENDED UP CRASHING INTO THE SIDE OF A RESTAURANT BUILDING. THE CONTACT STATED HER DAUGHTER HAD HEAD, NECK, AND BACK INJURIES BUT DID NOT IMMEDIATELY GO TO THE HOSPITAL UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A PRIVATE LOT TO BE INVESTIGATED FOR PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT AT AN AUTO AUCTION SO THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,811.
I HAVE A FORD FUSION 2010 WE PURCHASED LAST YEAR AND APPARENTLY IT HAD THROTTLE ISSUES THAT WE COVERED A FEW YEARS AGO OUR CAR IS STARTING TO ACT UP WITH THIS TO WHERE LAST WEEK I COULD HAVE DIED ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN PA CAUSE I LOST ENGINE POWER AND YOUR COMPANY IS REFUSING TO FIX THE PROBLEM IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO ME OR MY FAMILY I WILL SUE FORD BECAUSE YOUR COMPANY IS REFUSING TO HELP FIX MY CAR BECAUSE IT'S PAST THE 10 YEARS OR 150,000 IT SHOULD NOT MATTER. I KNOW IT'S THE THROTTLE CAUSE BOTH THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE WRENCH WILL COME ON AND IT SHAKES BAD PLEASE I WANT THIS FIXED BY FORD AT NO CHARGE

CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF THE CONTACT CAUSING THE CONTACT TO SLAM ON HIS BRAKES AND CRASH INTO THE OTHER VEHICLE'S DRIVER SIDE DOOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S FRONT AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY CAUSING THE CONTACT TO HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH HIS CHEST. THE CONTACT WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL BY AMBULANCE AS HE SUSTAINED BRUISING TO THE CHEST AND HAD DIFFICULTY BREATHING. THE OTHER VEHICLE OCCUPANT INJURIES WERE UNKNOWN. A POLICE REPORT WAS FAILED. THE POLICE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING INSPECTION BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER DON HINDS FORD (12875 FORD DR. FISHERS, IN 46038) WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUES BUT NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE ?POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT " ILLUMINATED ON THE MESSAGE CENTER AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME HARD TO MANEUVER. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND DROVE NORMAL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON ANOTHER OCCASION WHICH REVERING FROM A DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WACONIA FORD, 235 MINNESOTA 5, WACONIA, MN 55387, THEY DETERMINED THAT THE STEERING CONTROL MODULE HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000. *DT CONSUMER STATED FORD HAD ANNOUNCED A RECALL FOR STEERING ISSUES ON 2011-2013 MODELS BUT NOT 2010 FUSION MODELS.*JB
I BOUGHT A 2010 FORD FUSION AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, 105000 MILES. AFTER 4 MONTHS, NOTICED A TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK FROM DRIVERS SIDE. MECHANIC REPLACED THE SEAL AND LEFT CV SHAFT. I PAID $580 FOR THE REPAIR. CAR BROKE DOWN AFTER DRIVING 3 MILES AFTER REPAIR. HAD TO TOW BACK TO THE SHOP. THEY CHANGED THE SEAL AGAIN BUT I NOTICED THE OIL LEAK AGAIN. FEW DAYS LATER IT GOT WORST AND NOW I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE AXCEL, SEAL AND BUSHING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE COST OF THE REPAIR IS NOW $600. I READ IN A LOT OF FORUMS THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH FORD FUSIONS. I WISH I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE EARLIER. WOULD HAVE NEVER BOUGHT FORD FUSION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CLASSIC FORD LINCOLN OF COLUMBIA (177 GREYSTONE BLVD, COLUMBIA, SC 29210) WHERE IT WAS SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE CONTACT STATED AFTER HE PICKED UP THE VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER, HE STOPPED AT A GAS STATION AND SAW A FUEL LEAK AND SMELLED A STRONG FUEL ODOR COMING FROM THE REAR SEATS OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO CLASSIC FORD WHERE HE WAS OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO JIM HUDSON FORD (1201 W MAIN ST, LEXINGTON, SC 29072) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS NOT REPLACED, BUT WAS SEALED WITH JB WELD ADHESIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. JIM HUDSON FORD INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO CLASSIC FORD FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 210,000.
HAD THE REAR BRAKES REPLACED AT TIRES PLUS DUE TO BRAKE FLUID LEAKING. THEY FLUSHED THE BRAKE SYSTEM AND NOW WE ARE GETTING AN ABS HCU (HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT) CODE AND THE VALVES ARE NOT CLOSING PROPERLY. WHEN I GOOGLED THIS ISSUE, IT APPEARS FORD RECALLED APPROXIMATELY 600,000 VEHICLES WHICH INCLUDED THE 2010 FORD FUSION, HOWEVER MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS ISSUE IS CAUSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO NOT ENGAGE. MY SON BROUGHT THE CAR INTO A TIRES PLUS IN DULUTH, MN DUE TO THE ISSUE WHEN HE'S DRIVING.
CAR DISPLAYS WARNING OF "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND CAR LOOSES ABILITY TO STEER. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS BOTH STATIONARY AND MOVING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. THIS WILL CAUSE ME TO WRECK WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR.

THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE FIRST TIME 27 FEB I HAD JUST FINISHED FILLING UP WITH GAS AND WENT TO START THE CAR AND EXIT. ALARM SOUNDED AND POWER STEERING FAIL ON THE DASHBOARD. CAR HARD TO TURN. TURNED OF CAR RESTARTED AND HAS FINE. 2ND TIME 4 MARCH 1830 STARTED CAR TO DRIVE AND STEERING LOCKED UP AND ALARM SOUNDED

THE CONTACT USED THE PARKING BRAKE AND PULL THE VEHICLE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A DEFECTIVE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO SUNBELT FORD OF ALBANY LOCATED AT (2926 N SLAPPEY BLVD, ALBANY, GA 31701) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED FAILURE WAS CONFIRMED. THE CONTACT WAS THEN GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 121,000.
MY VEHICLE EXPERIANCED AN ABS EVENT A COUPLE OF MONTHS WHILE DRIVING ON A LIGHTLY SNOW COVERED ROAD. SINCE THE EVENT THE BRAKE PEDAL REQUIRES EXTRA EFFORT TO STOP THE VEHICLE, ULTIMATELY ENDING WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL BEING DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR BOARD. MY VEHICLE IS EXHIBITING IDENTICAL SYMPTOMS OUTLINED IN FORD'S RECALL 19S54, HOWEVER AFTER SPEAKING WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VEHICLE PRODUCTION DATE OF MAY 2010 IS NOT INCLUDED IN THEIR RECALL. BEING THAT THIS ISSUE AFFECTS OTHER 2006-2010 FORD FUSION VEHICLES I FEEL THAT MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THE ABOVE MENTIONED RECALL. (19S54) MY LOCAL MECHANIC INSPECTED THE BRAKE SYSTEM TODAY AND CAME TO THE SAME CONCLUSION, THAT THE ISSUE IS LIKELY BEING CAUSED BY A DEFECT WITHIN THE ABS VALVE UNIT.
THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP AND WOULD NOT LET ME DRIVE THE CAR. THANK GOODNESS I WAS NOT DRIVING. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALER AND IT WILL COST MORE THAN $1700 TO FIX. I SEE THERE ARE RECALLS BECAUSE OF THIS AND I WANT TO KNOW WHY MINE IS NOT RECALLED? I AM A SINGLE MOM AND A CAREGIVER AND DON'T MAKE MUCH MONEY. I CAN'T AFFORD THIS. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND I HAD TO LEAVE IT AT MY SCHOOL UNTIL I COULD GET IT TOWED.
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM A PRIVATE PARTY. THERE IS A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT DISPLAYING ON THE SCREEN AND I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO POWER STEERING. THE PREVIOUS OWNER INFORMED ME OF THE ISSUE BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. AND AFTER READING THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE BUT NOT FOR MY MODEL YEAR I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY. ANY INFORMATION IS APPRECIATED
PERCEIVED LOSS OF BRAKES AS NOTED IN TSB-09-22-11. DEALER SAYS NO RECALL EXISTS FOR THIS CAR BUT THE PROBLEM OCCURRING. BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT NOTICABLY CLOSER TO THE FLOOR WHEN DEPRESSED
WHEN PUTTING CAR INTO REVERSE OR INTO DRIVE THE POWER STEERING FAULT MESSAGE POPS UP AND THE WHEEL LOCKS AND THERE IS NO CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. IT'S SCARY BECAUSE WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M ON THE ROAD DRIVING AND IT HAPPENS. IT'S HAPPENED TO ME AT LEAST 6 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS
STEERING FAULT MESSAGE ON DISPLAY SCREEN WHEN WARM STARTING CAR. COULD NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL LEFT OR RIGHT WITH ENGINE RUNNING. TURNED OFF CAR. LET IT SET 4 45 MIN AND THEN RESTARTED. MESSAGE AGAIN FLASHED BUT WENT AWAY, DROVE CAR IMMEDIATELY TO DEALER. SEE ATTACHED.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON MY DASH THEN BEGAN TO BLINK. I STARTED TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY WHEN I NOTICED MY BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING, I COASTED TO A STOP AND CALLED TRIPLE A. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP WHERE I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES. I DROVE THE CAR OUT OF THE REPAIR SHOP AND WHEN I CAME TO THE FIRST STOP SIGN AGAIN IT FELT LIKE I HAD NO BRAKES. I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 15 MPH SO I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY PUSHING EXTREMELY HARD DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND USING THE AID OF MY EMERGENCY BRAKE. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND AFTER 2 DAYS THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR HAD A PROBLEM THAT ONLY THE DEALERSHIP CAN FIX. THE CAR NEEDED THE BRAKE SYSTEM SOFTWARE UPDATED BECAUSE OF A GLITCH RESULTING IN THE BRAKE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT TO GET STUCK OPEN OR REACT SLOWLY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,773.
LOST POWER STEERING ASSIST WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT. THE MESSAGE CENTER DISPLAYED "POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAULT". INSTANTANEOUS LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE TRAVELING AT A LOW SPEED IN A PARKING LOT. I SERIOUSLY HOPE FORD WILL ISSUE A RECALL AND REPAIR OUR VEHICLES.
STEERING POWER ASSIST FAILURE WHEN STARTING THE CAR, PUTTING THE TRANSMISSION INTO REVERSE AND BEGIN BACKING THE CAR OUT, THE STEERING POWER ASSIST FAILURE NOTIFICATION DISPLAYS AND THE VEHICLES STEERING IS DISABLED. ALTHOUGH CURRENTLY OCCURING ONLY WHEN BACKING UP, I CONSIDER THIS CAR AS UNSAFE AS IT SEEMS IT COULD JUST AS EASILY OCCUR WHEN ON THE FREEWAY
THE FOLLOWING ALERT APPEARS WHEN I START MY CAR: "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". AT THIS POINT, THE STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED AND TOO HARD TO TURN. AT FIRST, I WOULD TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, AND IT WOULD BE FINE. BUT FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS, I'VE BEEN UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR AT ALL.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND IT SAYS SERVICE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM & SER ICE POWER STEERING
DRIVING HOME FROM COCOA BEACH ON THE HIGHWAY(80 MILES) GOT ABOUT HALF WAY HOME AND I GOT THE MESSAGE SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW AND SERVICE ADVANCED TRAC. CONTINUED DRIVING WITH POWER STEERING TILL I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF. IT COMES AND GOES BUT AT SOME POINTS IT FEELS AS IF MY STEERING LOCKED UP AND BECOMES VERY SCARY. COST OF REPLACEMENT IS OVER 700+ SO I GUESS UNTIL WE GET HURT OR END UP DEAD FORD WON'T DO A THING. MY LAWYERS ARE INFORMED AND READY TO POUNCE.
I DO NOT OWN THIS CAR ANYMORE. IT WAS TAKEN TO A JUNK YARD.
MY CAR WAS IN MOTION WHILE DRIVING IN NY CITY TRAFFIC; THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND WE RECEIVED THE ADVANCTRAC / SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW MESSAGE. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED REPLACED. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS GOING TO COST 400 DOLLARS ALONE FOR THE PART. I LOOKED AT THIS ISSUE ONLINE AND COUNTLESS PEOPLE SEEM TO HE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE THE 2010 FORD FUSION BUT FORD HAS NOT HAVE A RECALL FOR IT YET. I'M STILL DRIVING IT, TIMES ARE HARD I CANT AFFORD THIS EXPENSE.
MY 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID HAS LOST ALL STEERING THREE TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO MONTHS. AFTER BRINGING IN FOR SERVICE, THE MECHANICS HAVE FOUND NOTHING AT ISSUE OTHER THAN NEEDING TO RESET THE COMPUTER AS IT IS ALL SEALED ELECTRONICS. THIS OCCURRED AGAIN TWICE WITHIN TWO DAYS AND WITH THE SAME RESPONSES FROM THE MECHANIC. I AM CONCERNED AS THE INCIDENT TODAY OCCURRED WHILE TURNING INTO TRAFFIC, WHICH ALMOST CAUSED A HEAD ON COLLISION. THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS IN MOTION, TURNING ONTO A CITY STREET. FROM ADDITIONAL RESEARCH ONLINE, HAVE FOUND SIGNIFICANT COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID OWNERS AS WELL, BUT HAVE NOT HAD ANY NOTICES BY FORD TO RESOLVE THIS SAFETY ISSUE
WHILE DRIVING ON I85 IN ATLANTA AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE VEHICLES AHEAD OF ME WILL BRAKE SUDDENLY CAUSING ME TO JAM MY BRAKES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. INSTEAD OF STOPPING OR SLOWING THE VEHICLE, IT CONTINUES TO GO FORWARD AND I ALMOST REAR END THE CAR AHEAD OF ME. I REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND ALL FOUR ROTORS, BRAKES AND CALIPERS. ALL TO NO EFFECT. AT SLOW SPEEDS IT WILL PULL TO ONE SIDE DURING BRAKING OR FEEL AS IF IT IS GRABBING ONE SIDE THEN THE OTHER INSTEAD OF A SINGLE SMOOTH PRESSURE. AT HIGHER SPEEDS YOU HAVE TO DOUBLE PUMP TO GET THE BRAKES TO ENGAGE WITH ANY FIRMNESS. THERE IS A ABS CONTROL UNIT RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE 19V904000 BUT IS FOR PLANT SPECIFIC VEHICLES. THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO ALL 2010 FORD FUSIONS.IM GOING TO PAY TO HAVE THIS FIXED AND HOPE THE RECALL IS EXPANDED. AS IT IS, IT SITS IN MY YARD BECAUSE WE ARE TOO AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.
THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE IN 2010 FUSIONS AS YOU CAN FIND LOTS OF SIMILAR EXPERIENCES. WHILE HEADING TOWARDS AN EXIT ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 70MPH, THE STEERING SUDDENLY LOST ALL POWER STEERING. TWO WARNINGS APPEARED ON THE DISPLAY SAYING "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "POWER STEER ASSIST FAILURE." EVERYTHING RETURNS TO NORMAL AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR AND IT HAPPENS ONCE AGAIN AT RANDOM.
SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW IS DISPLAYED. CAN'T MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL.
I'M ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND OUT OF NO WHERE MY STEERING WHEEL TIGHTENED UP, THEN A WARNING NOISE WENT OFF AND A MESSAGE CAME ON IN THE MESSAGE SCREEN. THE MESSAGE READ 'SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW'. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT MANEUVERING THROUGH TRAFFIC WITH THAT ISSUE, IT WAS GETTING TIGHTER, AND BY ME BEING A FEMALE I'M BLESSED THAT I MADE IT HOME. MY CAR WAS DRIVING PERFECTLY, NO TICKING NOISE WHILE TURNING OR ANYTHING. I RECEIVED NO WARNING OR ANYTHING, USUALLY MY CAR WILL WARN ME BEFORE THE ISSUE GETS WORSE; FOR INSTANCE MY OIL LIFE, OR MY TIRE PRESSURE. I KEEP A CHECKUP ON MY CAR AND NO ISSUES WAS DETECTED. I GOOGLED THE SITUATION AND SEEN NUMEROUS INDIVIDUALS SAYING THEY HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE MODEL OF CAR THAT I POSSESS. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE WAS A RECALL THAT I GOT SKIPPED OVER ON?
AFTER A THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT , MY POWER STEERING RACK WENT OUT NOW ITS VERY HARD TO TURN
DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM INSIDE CAR; CAN ONLY OPEN DRIVER'S DOOR FROM OUTSIDE
MY CAR IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE CURRENT RECALL IS FOR, BUT THE DEALERSHIP SAID MY CAR ISN'T UNDER RECALL. I AM HAVING TO PRESS MY BRAKES MUCH HARDER IN ORDER FOR THE BRAKING TO ENGAGE. I WAS DRIVING TO AND FROM WORK AND HAD TO PRESS MY BRAKES ALL THE WAY DOWN BEFORE IT WOULD START TO EVENTUALLY SLOW DOWN.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SUDDENLY FAILED, ERROR MESSAGE DISPLAYED: "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT; SERVICE ADVANCETRAC". FAILURE OCCURRED AT LOW SPEED, SHORTLY AFTER STARTUP.
MY POWER STEERING HAS NOW FAILED TWICE WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. BOTH TIMES I HAD TO TURN OFF MY CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET THE POWER STEERING TO WORK AGAIN. BOTH TIMES, IT HAPPENED ON A CITY STREET WHILE I WAS MAKING A TURN.
WHEN TURNING ON THE VEHICLE A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WILL DISPLAY A CROSSED THE DASH. WHEN THIS HAPPENS POWER STEERING IS LOST AND MAKES DIFFICULT DRIVING CONDITIONS. SOMETIMES TURNS OFF WHEN RESTARTING THE VEHICLE SOMETIMES DOESN'T TURN OFF FOR A COUPLE TIMES.
SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AS I WAS DRIVING HOME. THE NEXT MORNING I TURNED ON THE CAR AND IT SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW. HAVE SEEN THAT I AM ONE OF THE MANY PEOPLE HAVING THIS ISSUE. SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED NOT JUST THE 2011 WHICH IS JUST ONE YEAR NEWER.

THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF AND ON THE IGNITION AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO A LOCAL DEALER (COCCIA FORD LINCOLN INC LOCATED AT 577 E MAIN ST, WILKES-BARRE, PA 18702) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE POWER STEERING RATE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CAME ON AND I LOST POWER STEERING. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT ON THE INTERSTATE.
BRAKES FAILED , BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR NO PRESSURE TO STOP THE MY VEHICLE HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BREAK TO STOP IT HAD TO CALL TOW TRUCK TO BRING IT TO HALLIBURTON AUTO CLINIC TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH THE BREAKING AND IT CHECKED OUT TO BE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. THE MECHANIC ASKED DID I WANT IT FIXED I TOLD HIM YEAH BECAUSE IT COULDN'T BE DRIVEN AND ITS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION . SO THEY FIXED IT AFTER PAYING FOR SERVICE I GOT A LETTER ABOUT THE RECALL .I CALLED FORD TO SEE WHAT TO DO ABOUT A REIMBURSEMENT THEY SAY I HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE 2ND LETTER
WAS DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND TRIED TO BRAKE. SUDDENLY MY BRAKE LIGHT, ABS LIGHT, AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC LIGHTS COME ON THE DASH. THE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND MY CAR IS NOT STOPPING. TO AVOID GETTING T BONED I HAVE TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. BROUGHT THE CAR TO GET FIXED AND MY ABS/ HCU UNIT FAILED. THE COST TO REPAIR WAS CRAZY HIGH. LOOKED IT UP AND FORD IS CURRENTLY DOING A RECALL FOR 2006-2010 FORD FUSIONS FOR THE EXACT SAME REASON MY BRAKES FAILED. THEY ARE NOT INCLUDING HYBRIDS IN THIS RECALL FOR SOME REASON. I WOULD HIGHLY ENCOURAGE FORD TO INCLUDE HYBRIDS IN THE RECALL AS CLEARLY IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT IS A HYBRID OR NOT. FORD FUSIONS FROM 2006-2010 ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND IT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO ME ON THE HIGHWAY. WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL AT THAT POINT BECAUSE WITH NO BRAKES GOING 65 MPH, NOT GOOD!
THE POWER STEERING MOTOR WENT AND LOCK THE STEERING WHEEL UP AND SENT ME IN THE OTHER LANE ON CITY ROAD AND GOING STRAIGHT WASN'T TURNING WITHOUT CONTROL NO ONE WAS HURT BUT IT'S VERY UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE DISCUSSED WITH FORD AND HAVE A RECALL TO FIX THIS SO IT DOESN'T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE

POWER STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTIONED AND WON'T COME BACK ON.
MY 2010 FORD FUSION SEL HAS LOST ALL POWER STEERING DUE TO A FAILURE IN THE ELECTRONIC RACK AND PINION. I STARTED MY VEHICLE AND RECEIVED TWO WARNINGS ON THE INFORMATION SCREEN IN THE CLUSTER: POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT, AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. I'VE DONE RESEARCH AND HAVE BEEN TO MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS, AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO OTHER THAN CHARGE ME OVER TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS TO HAVE MY VEHICLE FIXED. YET, THE 2011 AND 2012 MODEL YEARS HAD A FULL RECALL OF THE PART AT NO COST. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ON FORD'S BEHALF AND EXTREMELY UNSAFE DUE TO THE FACT THAT WITH THE POWER STEERING BEING OUT, THE STABILITY CONTROL IS ALSO DISABLED. YES, MY VEHICLE IS DRIVE-ABLE BUT IT IS DEFINITELY NOT SAFE AND EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER AT SLOWER SPEEDS. IT'S AN ACCIDENT AND LAWSUIT WAITING TO HAPPEN, AND I DO NOT WANT TO BE THE UNFORTUNATE ONE TO GO THROUGH SUCH A THING. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, BEFORE ANY LIVES ARE LOST OR PREVENTABLE ACCIDENTS OCCUR.
THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING WHICH ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK. AT FIRST, TURNING THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTING IT WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. NOW IT IS COMPLETELY OUT AND IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SAFELY DRIVE. I UNDERSTAND THE 2011 MODEL FORD FUSION ALSO HAD THIS ISSUE, WHICH WAS RECALLED. THE 2010 FORD FUSIONS ALSO NEED TO BE RECALLED. IT IS NOT SAFE TO OUR CHILDREN OR ANYONE ELSE TO RIDE IN THE 2010 FORD FUSION WHEN THE POWER STEERING JUST RANDOMLY GOES OUT.
I TOOK MY CAR TO SHEEHY FORD OF MARLOW HEIGHTS FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL REPAIR. UPON PICKING THE CAR UP AFTER IT WAS "FIXED", THERE ARE NOW 3 LIGHTS ON MY DASH THAT WERE NOT PREVIOUSLY THERE. THESE LIGHTS ARE THE AIRBAG LIGHT, THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT, AND THE SERVICE WRENCH. THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT COOPERATE AS FAR AS FIXING THIS.
