THIS VEHICLE HAS EPAS. LAST NIGHT MY WIFE DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE GAS STATION AND PARKED IN FRONT OF A GAS PUMP. SOMEONE ASKED HER TO MOVE FORWARD AND WHEN SHE STARTED THE CAR, SHE RECEIVED THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" MESSAGE AND THE POWER STEERING REFUSED TO WORK. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. SHE STARTED THE CAR AND SHUT IT OFF NUMEROUS TIMES UNTIL THE SYSTEM RESET AND SHE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THIS CAR BELONGS TO AN 85 YEAR OLD WOMAN AND IF THE POWER STEERING FAILS WHILE SHE IS DRIVING THE CAR SHE WOULD NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO CONTROL THE STEERING.
I STARTED MY CAR IN THE APARTMENT PARKING LOT AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN WHEN THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE OCCURRED. MY CAR NOW HAS NO POWER STEERING AND IS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. I TRIED TURNING OFF MY CAR AND RESTARTING IT, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTS.
MY VEHICLE'S POWER STEERING NO LONGER WORKS. THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE ON 12/4/19. THE DASHBOORD INDICATED "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". SHORTLY AFTER THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING, THE DASHBOARD ALSO INDICATED "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC". MY VEHICLE HAS 96,000 ODOMETER MILES.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN FROM OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE DOES NOT WORK NOR MOVE. THIS IS DANGEROUS FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS: BECAUSE CAR HAS "BUCKET STYLE" FRONT SEATS. DRIVER CANNOT MOVE FROM FRONT PASSENGER TO/FROM DRIVER SIDE SEAT. TO ENTER AUTO, DRIVER ENTERS FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, REACHES OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE TO DRIVER INSIDE DOOR HANDLE, OPENS DRIVER DOOR FROM INSIDE, EXITS AUTO, ENTERS (THE NOW OPEN) DRIVER SIDE DOOR. IN UNSAFE NEIGHBORHOODS THIS PUTS THE DRIVER AND HIS PASSENGERS IN UNNECESSARY DANGER. THIS DRIVER IS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR UNLOCKED, SO IN EVENT OF A CRASH/ACCIDENT, THE DRIVER CANNOT BE REMOVED, FROM THE CRASHED DAMAGED CAR, THE BROKEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR HANDLE CANNOT BE OPENED BY A FIRST RESPONDER/RESCUER. THE DRIVER IS IN UNNECESSARY DANGER. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, EXAMINED THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND REPORTS: "OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE IS STUCK, WILL NOT OPEN. PULLED DOOR PANEL OFF AND FOUND THAT LOCK AND ROD FROM HANDLE TO LATCH HAS RUSTED, AND ROTTED, CAUSING ROD TO BREAK IN HALF, ROD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. PART HAS BEEN ORDERED AND SHOULD BE HERE BY 12-16-2019." IN THE PAST, THE DRIVER SIDE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE HAS BEEN REPAIRED THREE (3) TIMES DUE TO FAULTY MECHANISMS. THERE IS CONCERN THAT THIS EXTRA USE OF THE INSIDE HANDLE MAY AGAIN BREAK THE INSIDE HANDLE, TRAPPING THE DRIVER INSIDE THE CAR, WITH NO WAY TO EXIT. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP: GRIECO FORD OF FORT LAUDERDALE 1333 N. FEDERAL HIGHWAY FORT LAUDERDALE, FL PHONE: 1.954.390.6530 I PAID: $139.95, ON 12/11/2019. I WAS TOLD THAT TO REPAIR THIS DANGEROUS AUTO CONDITION WILL COST AN ADDITIONAL $373.00. TOTAL COST TO REPAIR DANGEROUS AUTO CONDITION IS $512.95 FORD CORP. SHOULD REIMBURSE CUSTOMER FOR THESE UNEXPECTED COSTS, $512.95. 4 PROPERLY WORKING AUTO DOOR IS A SAFETY ISSUE.
BRAKES FAILED AT 127,000 MILES DUE TO FAULTY ABS PUMP. BRAKES PRESSED ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR WHILE DRIVING AND AT STOPS . ERROR CODES IN PICTURE

MY POWER STEERING FAULT LIGHT CUT ON WHEN I STARTED MY CAR , THAN WITH THE CAR RUNNING IN A PARKED POSITION ,IT WENT AWAY . I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR KNOWING POWER STEERING MY GO OUT AT ANY TIME .
SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR. CAR BECAME HARD TO STEER. I WAS ON A CITY STREET AT AN INTERSECTION TURNING LEFT WHEN THE WARNING CAME ON. ALSO THE TRACTION CONTROL SYMBOL LIGHT CAME ON.
POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY FAILS WHEN I AM DRIVING. I HAVE NO CONTROL OVER MY CAR WHEN THIS HAPPENS. PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG HAS ISSUED A RECALL. I LIVE IN WASHINGTON STATE AND NO DEALER HAS THE REPLACEMENT PARTS I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR 2 YEARS!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP AND THE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND FELT SPONGY. THE VEHICLE WAS EXAMINED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND MASTER CYLINDER, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE ABS WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND LOCAL DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
POWER STEERING FAILURE WHILE IN A PARKING LOT OF A BUSY SHOPPING CENTER PULLING OUT OF MY SPACE. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER 199.00 DIAGNOSTIC FEE THEY TELL ME THE POWER STEERING RACK HAS TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED AND IT'S GOING TO COST ME OVER $2,300.00!!!! THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND FORD ISN'T DOING ANYTHING TO HELP PEOPLE AND YET THE RECALLED THE 2011 THAT USES THE EXACT SAME POWER STEERING SYSTEM. NOW I AM FORCED TO BUY ANOTHER CAR THE SAME MONTH I WAS TO PAY IT OFF BECAUSE I DONT HAVE THE $2300.00 AT CHRISTMAS TIME TO GET A CAR FIXED THAT IS 9 YEARS OLD. THIS IS WRONG. FORD SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE!!!
WENT TO CRANK IT ONE DAY AFTER CHANGING A TIRE ON THE FRONT AND THE POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING WHEN I GOT BACK IN IT AND CRANKED IT UP AND HASN'T WORKED SINCE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 FORD FUSION THE POWER STEERING SHUT DOWN. IT COMES UP WITH A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM. ERROR MESSAGE AND LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE PART OF THE FORD RECALL. MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER IS THE MAIN DRIVER OF THIS CAR AND NOT ABLE TO NOW DRIVE THIS CAR DUE TO THE DANGEROUS LOSS OF POWER STEERING.
THE STEERING WHEN YOU MAKE A LEFT OR RIGHT TURN IT WILL NOT COME BACK TO ALLOW YOU TO GO STRAIT AND BECOME VERY STILL AND UNABLE TO GO FORWARD.

WHEN TURNING ON CAR AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOLLOWING REPAIR OF RECALLED AIRBAG THE WARNING LIGHT TO SERVICE ELECTRONIC TRAC SYSTEM. STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN. SERVICE WRITER CHECKED CODES AND NOTHING CAME UP. I WAS TOLD TO JUST TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON AND THAT WOULD RESET IT. THAT WORKED. IT CONTINUED TO DO THAT ON AND OFF THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. THEN IT WOULD NOT RESET. WE TRIED TO DRIVE IT STOPPING AND STARTING IT TO TRY TO RESET IT. IT SUDDENLY BECAME REALLY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND MY HUSBAND LOST CONTROL AND RAN OVER A CURB ON CITY STREET . LUCKILY NO ONE WAS ON THE CURB OR SIDEWALK .NO INJURIES. FORD SAYS THE ELECTRONIC STEERING IS OUT AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED COSTING OVER 18,000$. I HAVE 133,000 MILES ON CAR.

I'VE RECEIVED A RECALL FOR THE ABS VALVE NOT WORKING CORRECTLY AND CAUSING THE BRAKES TO NOT WORK PROPERLY. COULD THIS BE WHAT'S CAUSED MY PROBLEMS BEFORE I'VE HAD SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I'VE OWNED MY 2010 FUSION GO TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THEY JUST DIDN'T WORK PROPERLY. ABOUT A MONTH AGO I RAN INTO THE BACK OF A FORD F150. I WAS IN A TURNING LANE WITH HEAVY TRAFFIC AND WHEN WE DIDN'T MAKE IT THROUGH THE LIGHT I APPLIED THE BRAKES AND I WASN'T STOPPING, LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WHILE PUSHING ALL I COULD WITH A SIZE 9 STEEL TOE WORK BOOT TO KEEP FROM DAMAGING ANYONE'S VEHICLE. IT WASN'T ANY DAMAGE TO THE BACK OF THE TRUCK BUT IT WAS ENOUGH TO BREAK A CHROME PIECE OFF MY GRILL. I'VE ALWAYS JUST ASSUMED IT WAS LACK OF MAINTENANCE OR DUE TO WET ROADS PLUS THE FACT THE CAR HAS OVER 225,000 MILES BUT THIS LAST INCIDENT THE ROADS WAS DRY AND BEING IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC TRYING TO TURN I WAS ONLY DOING ABOUT 10 MPH.
VEHICLE HAS 1 TO 2 SECOND DELAY AFTER DEPRESSING THROTTLE BEFORE ACCELERATION OCCURS. VERY SIMILAR TO NHTSA ID NUMBER: 11219222 AND NHTSA ID NUMBER: 10167224. SUSPECT IT'S RELATED TO NHTSA ID NUMBER: 11233861 THIS HAS RESULTED IN NUMEROUS CLOSE CALLS AND NEAR T-BONE ACCIDENTS IN THIS CAR.
THE STEERING RACK IS VERY LOOSE AND DANGEROUS- THERE IS A RECALL ON THE NEWER MODELS WITH THE SAME RACK - THIS IS WAY MORE DANGEROUS THAN AN AIR BAG THAT"MAY" DEPLOY - THIS IS DANGEROUS ALL THE TIME .
POWER STEERING FAILURE WHILE DRIVING. ALMOST CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. RECALL THIS NOW. 2010 FORD FUSION SEL 155,000 MILES.
FROM A COMPLETE STOP, CAR STUTTERS AND PAUSES BEFORE STARTING TO MOVE AS IF IT'S TRYING TO DECIDE WHICH FORM OF POWER TO USE - THE ELECTRIC BATTERY OR THE ENGINE. THIS HAS BECOME QUITE DANGEROUS BECAUSE IT'S ENOUGH TIME TO BE HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHILE NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE. WHEN IT DOES "KICK IN", IT LURCHES AND MAKES A 'KNOCKING' NOISE. I'M VERY CONCERNED I'M GOING TO BE SMASHED INTO ONE DAY DUE TO IT NOT MOVING. SEARCHING ONLINE AND READING THROUGH THE FORD FUSION FORUMS, I'VE FOUND THAT IT HAS TO DO WITH THE SYSTEM READING THE ELECTRIC BATTERY AGE. THIS STUTTERING HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY NOW. MY COMMUTE IS ALL CITY DRIVING AND HAPPENS WHEN COMING OUT OF A COMPLETE STOP, NO MATTER IF I'M TURNING OR GOING STRAIGHT. I TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF MY CAR, HAVE OWNED IT SINCE NEW, AND HAVE LESS THAN 60,000 MILES ON IT. I'M HOPING TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT FOR A LONG TIME TO COME, BUT, IF THIS CONTINUES, I FEAR I WILL BE INJURED - OR WORSE - DUE TO THIS ISSUE. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. THERE ARE MANY, MANY FUSION HYBRID OWNERS THAT ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, BUT SEEM TO NOT BE GETTING ANY RESPONSE FROM FORD.
POWER ASSIST WARNING, LOSES POWER STEERING
CAR IS A 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID 93KMILE. ON NOVEMBER 14, 2019 AT 7AM, CAR WAS APPROACHING TO A TRAFFIC INTERSECTION. CAR DID NOT STOP WHEN APPLY BREAK HIT ON THE BACK OF VAN STANDING ON THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. USED THE HAND BREAK TO SLOW DOWN AND SINCE THE SPEED WAS LOW WHEN HIT THE FRONT VAN. NO MAJOR DAMAGE OCCUR EXCEPT SCRATCH AND ESCAPED FROM ACCIDENT. TOOK TO FORD DEALERSHIP IN EAST WIDSOR, NJ (HALMAN FORD). AFTER DIAGNOSIS THE RESULT SHOWS THE ABS BREAK CONTROL UNIT IS NOT FUNCTIONING AND SHOULD BE REPLACED. IT COST $1588+ TAX. CALLED FORD. THEY TOLD THEY DON'T HAVE ANY PROGRAM FOR THIS ISSUE AND DON'T PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE FOR REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGED AUTOMATICALLY. THE DRIVER DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE SLOWLY STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE TWO SENSORS WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHILE DRIVING ON SLICK ROADS AND OVER A PATCH OF ICE, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGED AGAIN AND THE CONTACT LOST ALL BRAKE POWER. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND PARKED THE VEHICLE FOR AWHILE. AFTERWARDS, THE BRAKE POWER RETURNED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN, THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGED AGAIN. THE CONTACT COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT AND PUMPED THE BRAKE PEDAL NUMEROUS TIMES. AFTERWARDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE CONTACT CALLED MOUNTAINEER FORD LINCOLN MITSUBISHI (615 N EISENHOWER DR, BECKLEY, WV 25801, (304) 461-0505) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT NEEDED TO WAIT UNTIL THE RECALL WAS ISSUED AND ADVISED HER TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000.
MY 2010 FORD FUSION'S POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND MADE IT SCARY/VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. I'M GETTING A WARNING OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAULT. I READ FORD HAD PREVIOUSLY RECALLED THE 2011 AND UP, BUT LEFT OUT THE 2010 WHICH WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS
THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. FOR ABOUT 1.5 MONTHS WHEN I WOULD TURN ON THE VEHICLE THE DASH WOULD NOTIFY OF A POWER STEERING FAULT AND POWER STEERING WOULD NOT WORK (STEERING WHEEL NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE). HOWEVER, IF I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON THE FAULT WOULD GO AWAY AND POWER STEERING WOULD RETURN TO NORMAL. UNFORTUNATELY NOW THE POWER STEERING IS PERMANENTLY NOT WORKING AND THE CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. STABILITY CONTROL WARNING ALSO CAME ON IMMEDIATELY AFTER. EXTREMELY GLAD POWER STEERING DID NOT GO OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING, IT WOULD HAVE LIKELY CAUSED ME TO CRASH SINCE STEERING IS SO HARD TO USE WITHOUT POWER STEERING. I DID SOME RESEARCH FORD HAS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE FOR THE 2011 AND 2012 FUSIONS BUT NOT THE 2010 BUT APPEARS THE 2010 IS AFFECTED BY THE SAME DEFECT.
WHEN MY FUSION HITS A BUMP MY BRAKES PEDAL GOES ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. WHEN I BRAKE HARD AND TURN WHEELS MY BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. WHEN I BRAKE ON WET PAVEMENT MY BRAKE PEDAL ALMOST GOES TO THE FLOOR. WHEN MY BRAKE PEDAL ALMOST GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND I HAVE TO PUMP MY TO GET THE CAR TO STOP. THE BRAKES GET BETTER IN A FEW DAYS AFTER ABS VALVES CLOSES. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER TWO YEARS. THIS HAPPEN TODAY WHEN I WAS STOPPING BEHIND A CAR TO MAKE A TURN AND MY PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND I WAS JUST ABLE TO STOP IN TIME BEFORE I HIT THE CAR. I KNOW THE ABS MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACE AT A COST OF $1200 TO ME. I ALSO KNOW THIS A COMMON PROBLEM IN THE FORD FUSION THAT FORD WILL NOT FIX!
AS I DRIVE AND HAVE TO HIT MY BRAKES HARD TO AVOID CRASHING OR HITTING SOMEONE/OBJECT, MY BRAKES WILL THEN GO TO THE FLOOR BEFORE FULLY BRAKING AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW, WHERE MY BRAKES HAVE NOT BEEN WORKING PROPERLY AND RESULTS IN EXTENDED BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL.
FUSION BRAKES BECAME VERY SPONGY LAST YEAR CALLED THE DEALER, TOOK CAR IN THEY REPORTED "RESETTING THE BRAKE SENSOR", AND BRAKES WERE FUNCTIONING SATISFACTORY. 2 WEEKS AGO, PROBLEM RETURNED ON A TRIP OF 500 MILES, THOUGHT BRAKES WERE LOOSING FLUID, CHECKED FLUID WAS FINE. PUMPED BRAKES IN PARK VERY HARD X 5-10 REPS X 3 SETS , BRAKE PARTIALLY RETURNED. ARRIVING HOME BRAKES FUNCTIONED FAIR. NOW PAST 2 DAYS UNABLE TO RESET BRAKES AND THEY ARE VERY SPONGY, VERY RISKY FOR TRAVEL AND PERFORMING UNEXPECTED STOPPING. FORD SERVICE REPORTS SOME OF THESE VEHICLES ARE UNDER RECALL SOME ARE NOT?? I WILL REDRESS THIS WITH DEALER THIS WEEK. NOW STEERING FAULT IS SHOWING UP, LOOSES ASSIST WHILE DRIVING , MAKES PARKING AND AVOIDANCE MANEUVERING DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. AGAIN SOME VEHICLES UNDER RECALL NOT MINE ??

WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING 60-65 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE "ADVANCETRAC SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 128,005.
WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET I CAME TO A STOP LIGHT APPLIED MY BRAKES AND THEY WENT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. I TOOK MY 2010 FORD FUSION TO LAIRD NOLLER FORD REPAIR SHOP AND WAS TOLD MY ABS HYDRAULIC PUMP WAS FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACE AT A COST OF $1,300.00. WHILE THE REPAIR WAS REVIEWING MY BRAKE ISSUE A WORKER MOVED MY VEHICLE KNOWING IT HAD NO BRAKES AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE REAR BUMPER AND FENDER. I WOULD THINK A BRAKE PROBLEM OF THIS NATURE WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED THE DEATH OF MY CHILDREN AND I WOULD BE ON THE RECALL LIST. IN ADDITION, I SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR THIS REPAIR SINCE IT IS A MANUFACTORY FAULT AND NOT CAUSED BY ME.
MY FRONT DRIVER SIDE TIRE WAS FLAT AFTER WORK. I DROVE IT DOWN THE STREET TO THE GAS STATION TO USE THE AIR PUMP. ON MY WAY THERE, I STARTED GETTING THE 'SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW' AND A ADVANTRAC LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. I STILL HAD SOME CONTROL SO I PULLED INTO THE GAS STATION AND AIRED UP THE TIRE. HOWEVER, THE SYSTEM NEVER RESET AFTERWARDS. AT THIS POINT, I HAD NO STEERING CONTROL WHATSOEVER. I RESTARTED IT, DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY, CHECKED FUSES, ETC. NOTHING RESTORED THE STEERING TO THE CAR, AND NOW THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
I DON'T OWN THIS CAR BUT I WAS SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT ACQUIRING THIS CAR TILL WHEN I LOOKED UP THE VIN AND IT HAD AN OLD OPEN RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS THAT THE CAR COMPANY SELLING IT SHOULD ATLEAST TELL YOU THERE IS. I REALIZE FACEBOOK MAY NOT BE THE BEST ONLINE SERVICE TO USE TO BUY A VEHICLE BUT THE DEALERSHIP SHOULD HAVE AT THE LEAST MENTIONED THE RECALL AND WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE ALREADY DONE WAS HAVE IT TAKEN IN AN FIXED FOR THE SAFETY OF ITS CLIENT ITS CRAZY. PLEASE GET AHOLD OF THE DEALERSHIP WHO OWNS THIS CAR AND TELL THEM TO GET THE RECALL TAKEN CARE OFF THANK YOU. THE CAR "DINGED" 3 TIMES AND I NOTICED THE CAR SAYS "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT & SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC".
WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING AND DISPLAYED POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WARNING MESSAGE. VEHICLE BECAME VERY HARD TO MANEUVER. POWER STEERING HAS NOT RETURNED TO VEHICLE MAKING IT EXTREMELY HARD TO DRIVE AND PRACTICALLY UNSAFE.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT - CAR BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RECALLED BY NHTSA FOR MODEL YEARS 2011 THRU 2013, BUT NOT FOR 2010. THIS IS DESPITE THE FACT THAT THERE HAVE BEEN THOUSANDS OF CASES OF THE SAME ISSUE WITH 2010 AND THAT THIS ISSUE IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON 2010 MODELS ASAP!
LOSING ALL BRAKES AFTER ABS KICKS IN. WAS TOLD IT NEEDS AN ABS CONTROL MODULE THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER.
I PURCHASED A NEW 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID SE FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP IN FAIRFAX, VA. AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 9 YEARS, THE VEHICLE NO LONGER OPERATES IN ELECTRIC MODE (IT ONLY OPERATES IN GAS MODE). MY AVERAGE MPG HAS DROPPED FROM 37-40 MPG TO 25-27 MPG. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE CENTER MANASSAS, VA IN NOV 2019 WHO INDICATED THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION TO FIX IT (THEY INITIALLY WERE GOING TO CHARGE ME $150 DIAGNOSTIC FEE BUT WAIVED THE FEE AND SENT ME HOME). THERE ARE NUMEROUS REPORTS IN FORD VEHICLE FORUMS WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. CONSENSUS IS THAT FORD PROGRAMMED THE ELECTRONIC MODE TO STOP WORKING AFTER 9 YEARS. WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS NO DISCLOSURE THAT I WOULD NO LONGER HAVE A PROPERLY WORKING HYBRID AFTER 9 YEARS. THIS END-OF-LIFE DECISION WOULD HAVE TO BE PROGRAMMED INTO THE VEHICLE'S ECU AT THE TIME OF MANUFACTURING AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN DISCLOSED BY FORD AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE. HAD FORD DISCLOSED THIS, IT WOULD HAVE DIRECTLY IMPACTED MY DECISION TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE. THE FIX APPEARS TO BE REPROGRAMMING THE VEHICLE TO MAKE IT THINK IT IS LESS THAN 9 YEARS OLD WHICH RETURNS THE HYBRID FUNCTIONS TO NORMAL. ACCORDING TO SEVERAL FORUMS, SOME FORD SERVICE CENTERS HAVE CONDUCT THIS FIX, BUT THE MAJORITY OF FORD SERVICE CENTERS ARE NOT WILLING/ABLE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. WITHOUT NOTICE POWER STEERING FAIL TO PERFORM WHILE DRIVING, IN TWO OCCASIONS I WAS VERY CLOSE TO END IN AN ACCIDENT, GOOD DRIVING SKILL AVOID THIS ACCIDENTS. FORD MADE A RECALL FOR THE 2011 VEHICLE AND NOT FOR THE 2010 WHEN IS EXACTLY THE SAME MECHANICAL PARTS IN BOTH AND THE 2010 PRETTY MUCH HAS AS MANY OR MORE COMPLAINS THAN OWNER OF 2011 AND 2012. IN THE LONG RUN THIS FACTORY DEFECT WILL CLAIM SOME HUMAN LIFE AND FORD WILL HAVE ANOTHER DEAD OVER THEIR SHOULDER. IN ONE CASE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, IN THE SECOND CASE IT HAPPEN AS SOON I START DRIVING IN MY WAY HOME. IT'S A COMMON MANUFACTURE PROBLEM, FORD KNOWS AS WELL THAN THE GOVERNMENT BUT I'M SURE NOTHING WILL HAPPEN TILL SOMEONE DIE DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. THE FAN MOTOR CUTS IN AND OUT. WE GAVE REPLACED IT 3 TIMES AND AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS IT WILL CUT IN AND OUT RANDOMLY UNTIL EVENTUALLY THERE IS NO FAN RUNNING AT ALL. IT DOES NOT SEEM VERY SAFE IF THE WIRES OR MOTOR CONTINUE TO SHORT OUT. CHANCE OF A FIRE? PLEASE ADVISE IF ANY RECALLS FOR THIS PROBKEM.

TECH AT FORD DEALER SAID THIS WAS THE 2ND CAR THIS WEEK WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.
YESTERDAY I STARTED MY CAR AND MY TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND MY STEERING WAS FINE THEN I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY STEERING BECAME HARDER TO CONTROL. I PARKED AT A FRIENDS HOUSE FOR THE NIGHT AND WHEN I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR AGAIN THE NEXT DAY I COULD BARELY STEER AND MY CAR BEGAN TO GRIND AND MAKE A LOUD SCREECHING NOISE. I THEN WENT TO THE STORE AND BOUGHT POWER STEERING FLUID JUST TO FIND OUT MY SYSTEM IS ELECTRIC. SO NOW I HAVE BARELY ANY STEERING.... AND MY HOUSE AND COLLEGE IS 1 1/2 HOURS FROM EACH OTHER. AND BEING A COLLEGE STUDENT I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO REPLACE THE PART THAT'S BROKEN.
