MY CAR WAS HAVING MULTIPLE ISSUES. FIRST THE EPAS SYSTEM WENT OUT AS I WAS DRIVING. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR PREVIOUS VERSIONS BUT WHEN I LOOKED UP THE 2010 FORD FUSION 3.0LV6 AWD IT WAS NOT INCLUDED EVEN THOUGH IT WAS ONE OF THE PIONEER VEHICLES OF FORDS TO HAVE THE SYSTEM. ONCE I GOT THE POWER STEERING REPAIRED I STARTED HEARING A GRINDING. AS I DROVE THE CAR TO MY HOUSE TO GET A SAFE LOOK ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS A JERKING AND CRUNCHING SOUND AS I DROVE ON A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH SLIGHT GRADING. LUCKILY I WAS ONLY GOING 35MPH AND WAS ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT AND THE REAR DRIVE SHAFT. AFTER TALKING TO THE MECHANIC HE SAID THAT THE PTU IS ONE OF THE MOST COMMONLY REPLACED PARTS IN THE AWD FORD VEHICLES. IT IS OBVIOUS AFTER MORE RESEARCH THAT FORD IS WELL AWARE THAT THEY ARE PROVIDING A FAULTY PRODUCT AND ARE PLACING THEM IN ALL OF THEIR AWD SYSTEMS. MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT THE PTU UNIT IN THE FORD FUSION 2010 IS THE SAME AS IN ALL OTHER FORD AWD VEHICLES. SINCE I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY TO GET THE POWER STEERING FIXED I HAD TO PUT MY CAR IN A GARAGE FOR THE WINTER SO I COULD SAVE UP TO FIX THE NOW FUNKED PTU. MY CAR HASN'T EVEN CRACKED 89K MILES.
WHEEL STUDS HAVE BROKEN WHILE BEING SERVICED BY FORD, THEY HAVE BROKEN OFF WHEN I'VE REMOVED THE WHEELS, THEY HAVE BROKEN OFF WHEN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOPS HAVE REMOVED THE WHEELS. FORD COVERED THIS UNDER 11S23 (NHTSA 11V574000). HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED DURING THE DATES SPECIFIED BY FORD, HAS THE WHEELS WHICH EXHIBIT THE PROBLEM, AND HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM MULTIPLE TIMES. FORD SAYS MY VIN DOES NOT MATCH ONE OF THE RECALLED VEHICLES. I HAVE PAID TO HAVE THE WHEEL STUDS REPLACED, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS.
MY STEERING WHEEL IS "LOCKED". IT HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR A WHILE NOW, BUT I WOULD JUST TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AND IT WOULD WORK. WELL ON THURSDAY MORNING 9/14/2017 THIS DIDN'T WORK ANYMORE. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND LEARNED THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS VERY SAME ISSUE ON THE 2011 FORD FUSION, BY THE WAY MY CAR IS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THESE CARS HAVE THE SAME ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AND WHAT MAKES IT SO BAD THEY ARE BEING REPLACED WITH THE EXACT SAME PART THAT IS POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAYS SINCE IT WAS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS AND LABOR BECAUSE MY CAR IS A 2010 MODEL BUT THE RECALL IS FOR THE PART, NOT THE CAR. I DON'T FEEL I SHOULD BE HELD FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR A DEFECTIVE PART JUST BECAUSE IT WAS INSTALLED IN A VEHICLE NOT ON THE RECALL LIST.
WHEEL STUDS BREAK OFF. THE WHEEL STUDS HAVE BROKEN OFF MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE BEING TORQUED DOWN AT THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE BROKEN OFF WHEN I'VE REPLACED A TIRE, THEY HAVE BROKEN OFF WHEN OTHER REPAIR SHOPS HAVE WORKED ON THEM. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THEM REPLACED TWICE, AND NEED TO HAVE THEM REPLACED A THIRD TIME.
TAMARA RECALL. WAS ADVISED NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO FIX AIRBAG WARNING LIGHTS
TAKATA RECALL CANNOT USE PASSINGER FRONT SEAT DUE AIR BAG INFLATOR RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER WHEEL STUDS FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WHEEL STUDS NEEDED TO BE TO REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. A LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
THE POWER STEERING IN MY CAR WILL TURN OFF FOR NO REASON AT ALL. IT IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE. I CAN RE-START THE CAR AND THEN IT'LL BE FINE FOR AWHILE, AND THEN GO OUT AGAIN FOR NO REASON. IT CAN HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE TRAVELING VERY FAST.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE FREE WAY AND WAS ABLE TO PULL THE WHEEL HARD ENOUGH TO PULL OVER BUT MY CAR WOULDNT TURN AND AN ALARM AND A MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASH THAT READ "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". WHEN I LOOK UP THE ISSUE I SAW THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE EXACT ISSUE ON FORD FUSIONS JUST NOT MY YEAR. WHY AM I NOT INCLUDED AND WHAT SHOULD I DO? THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFTEY HAZARD AND I NEED THIS TAKEN CARE OF
I WAS DRIVING TO GO PICK UP MY YOUND BOYS AT SCHOOL WENT AROUND CURVE MY POWER STEERING WENT PUT AND MY SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW LIGHT CAME ON AND MY SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT CAME ON NO WARNING JUST WENT OUT I ALMOST HIT A TREE I CALL FORD PLACE THEY SAY I JAVE TO COME UP THERE LET THEM PUT IT ON MACHINE THAT IS 107.00 AND THEN TELLME WHATS WRONG AND THEY CAN FIX IT BUT THE PART THAT MAY BE NEEDED IS 900 DOLLARS IM A SINGLE MOM AND DNT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY IVE HAD THIS CAR LITTLE OVA 1 YR I LOOKED UP RECALLS AND BACK IN 2015 THEY RECALLED FORD FUSIONS FOR POWER STEERING PROBLEMS BUT THE OWNERS OF 2010 FUSIONS THAT WERE COMPLAINING WAS NOT RECALLED 2010 AND OLDER HAVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AND IF THIS MANY PPL ARE COMPLAINING WHY HAVENT THEY RECALLED THEM ARE THEY WAITING TIL A PERSON GETS KILLED WHAT IF ITS A CHILD ALL THEY ARE GONNA DO IS SAY IM SO SORRY BUT THEY KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM WHY CANT WE GET OUR CARS FIXED THEY MADE THEM WITH FAULTY EQUIPMENT
WENT TO THE STORE AS I TURNING TO PARK A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON ABOUT THE POWER STEERING AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING, ONCE I CAME OUT OF THE STORE AND STARTED THE CAR, THE WARNING LIGHT WAS STILL ON POWER STEERING FAULT. I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE STATED THEY COULD RESET THE COMPUTER TO CLEAR THE WARNING LIGHT, SO I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP, PAID $105.00 TO CLEAR THE ERROR. THE ISSUE WAS GONE AND I HAD POWER STEERING THAT WAS ON A WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, WELL FRIDAY MORNING WHEN I ON MY WAY TO WORK THE SAME WARNING MESSAGE CAME ON AGAIN AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING AGAIN. I WENT ON THE INTERNET AND RESEARCHED ON HOW TO RESET BY DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY WOULD RESET IT. NO LUCK ON THAT. WHY HAVEN'T FORD DONE A RECALL ON THE 2010 FORD FUSION WHEN THEY KNOW IT HAS A POWER STEERING PROBLEM. THIS IS NOT SAFE AT ALL, IT CAN CAUSE A WRECK.
DROVE MY MOM'S 2010 FORD FUSION TO THE STORE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS ON BUT STEERING WAS FINE. AFTER EXITING THE STORE AND STARTING CAR HAD POWER STEERING FAILURE AND ADVANCETRAC FAILURE WARNINGS AND CAR WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN AFTER THAT. I'M JUST GLAD IT HAPPENED TO ME AND NOT MY MOM, SHE WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR AND STUCK AT THE STORE WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO PICK HER UP
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A PROGRESSING GRINDING NOISE AND THAT THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED BY A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURER RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM A POWER STEERING RECALL FOR THE 2011 AND 2012 MODELS. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. *TT *TR
I WAS DRIVING WHEN I RECEIVED A "SERVICE POWER STEERING" INDICATOR ON THE DASH. A MINUTE OR TWO LATER I ALSO RECEIVE AN "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" INDICATOR. THE POWER STEERING WAS STILL WORKING AT THAT POINT AND I PARKED THE CAR AND TURNED IT OFF TO CHECK WHAT WAS WRONG. ONCE I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON I RECEIVED A "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" INDICATOR ON THE DASH. AT THIS POINT THE POWER STEERING WAS NO LONGER WORKING. I COULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR AS IT WAS MUCH TOO DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I HAD THE CAR TOWED AND BROUGHT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER. I HAD TO LEAVE IT THERE AND RENT A CAR AS I WAS VISITING FROM OUT OF TOWN AND HAD TO RETURN HOME. THE FORD SERVICE DEALER CALLED AND TOLD ME I HAD TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. $1600. OUCH
POWER STEERING FAULT WHILE TURNING IT BECOME HARD TO STEER COULD MOST LIKELY TO CAUSE ACCIDENTS, INJURY
2010 FORD FUSION 2.0L SLE ORIGINALLY EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THE FAULT WAS ABLE TO BE CLEARED BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND WOULD REMAIN DORMANT FOR A NUMBER OF DAYS OR WEEKS. RECENTLY, MY WIFE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE CAR AND THE PSAF FAULT REAPPEARED AND IS NOW UNABLE TO BE RESET BY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE. THE FAULT OCCURS DURING EVERY VEHICLE START CYCLE. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE AND RUN THE STEERING WHEEL THROUGH ITS ENTIRE RANGE OF MOTION TO INDUCE A SENSOR OR ENCODER RESET WITH NO SUCCESS. IT NOW APPEARS THAT I WILL NEED TO CONTACT A DEALER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. APPARENTLY THIS A KNOWN PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN ADDRESSED IN FUSIONS PRODUCED AFTER 2010. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM? THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE OPERATED IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION.
VEHICLE BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY. POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CODE INDICATED ON CONSOLE. RECALL AVAILABLE ON FORD FUSION 2011 - 2014. WHY WAS 2010 EXCLUDED.
THE HYBRID COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MP ON THE INTERSTATE. IT WAS LIKE TURNING OFF THE KEY. A RED TRIANGLE LIGHT SAID GOOD LUCK "STOP THE CAR". THIS IS WITHIN 100 MILES HAVING PAID 1200 TO A FORD DEALER TO REPLACE THROTTLE BODY AND COOLING PUMP THAT WASN'T ONE OF THE 1.6 MILLION FORD HAD TO EXTEND WARRANTIES. SHAME ON NHSTA FOR NOT MAKING THEM RECALL EVERYTHING.

THE CONDITION CREATES POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS FOR THE DRIVER AND VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. NUMEROUS PEOPLE ARE REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE IN ONLINE VEHICLE FORUMS. ENGINE CODE PRODUCED BY THE VEHICLE COMPUTER IS P2112.
MY CAR IS THROWING SAME CODES AND ACTING THE SAME AS THE 2011 FOR FUSIONS THAT WERE RECALLED FOR STEERING GEAR REPLACEMENT
DRIVER DOOR LATCH SPRING BROKE. DRIVERS DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE. I-4 IN TAMPA FLORIDA. AT SPEED LIMIT OF 70 MPH. HAD TO HOLD DOOR SHUT WITH HAND TILL I COULD GET OFF ROAD SAFELY. FORD WOULD NOT COVER UNDER PRESENT RECALL OF THIS PROBLEM. ON NEWER MODELS. COSTING ME ALMOST $400 FOR THE REPAIR.
THE STEERING GEAR / RACK AND PINION HAS FAILED THEREFOR NO POWER STEERING... THIS CAR REQUIRES THE SAME PART NUMBER AS THE FUSIONS RECALLED FOR SAME ISSUE BEGINNING IN 2011 PRT# AE5Z-3504DE WHY ISN'T THE 2010 INCLUDED? LUCKY FOR ME I CAN DRIVE WITH NO POWER STEERING IN LIGHT OF THE FACT I DON'T HAVE 2000.000 TO GET IT FIXED. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO GET THE RECALL EXTENDED TO INCLUDE THE 2010? DEATHS? I WORK FOR A MECHANIC AND KOW WHAT IS WRONG AND THE PART NUMBERS AND THE FACT THAT THIS UNIT IS USED IN MULTIPLE FORDS...I FEEL LIKE WE THE 2010 OWNERS ARE BEING SHUNNED BECAUSE FORD DOESN'T WANT TO PAY FOR OUR RECALLS
TAKATA RECALL. WHY HAS FORD NOT COME UP WITH A REMEDY? OTHER COMPANIES HAVE. MEANWHILE, MY FAMILY IS DRIVING A DANGEROUS CAR.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE, ONLY FROM THE OUTSIDE. WE MUST ROLL WINDOW DOWN TO OPEN CAR DOOR.
TAKATA RECALL BOUGHT CAR USED 8/17 NOT KNOWING THE FULL EXTENT OF RECALL. THAT MY VEHICLE IS A POTENTIAL DEATH TRAP. ACCORDING TO NHTSA FORD MAILED OUT LETTERS 7/16 SAYING THERE WAS NO PARTS AVAILABLE YET TO FIX PROBLEM. IT IS NOW 2018 AND ACCORDING TO ONE FORD DEALER PARTS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING AND THAT IS NOT A GUARANTEE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION SE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK LEAKED FUEL UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOOSE A QUARTER TANK OF FUEL OVERNIGHT AFTER REFUELING. THERE WAS NO WARNING, EXCEPT THAT THE CONTACT SMELLED FUEL CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHERE THERE WAS NO LEAK DETECTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR A SECOND OPINION. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN DIAGNOSED AT RIVERSIDE AUTOPLEX OF POTEAU DEALER (918-647-2228, LOCATED AT 2100 S BROADWAY ST, POTEAU, OK 74953) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS DEFECTIVE AND CAUSED THE LEAK. THE DEALER INFORMED THAT ON 08/2018 THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) HOWEVER WAS CONCLUDED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT REQUIRE THE RECALL REMEDY PERFORMED AND THE RECALL WAS CLOSED UNDER THE VIN. THE DEALER REQUESTED THE RECALL BE REOPENED AGAIN TO PERFORM THE REPAIRS ON THE VEHICLE BUT THE REQUEST WAS DENIED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE (CPV) AND THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT INFORMED THAT THE RECALL WAS WITHIN THE SERVICE WARRANTY PERIOD OF 12 MONTHS AND 12,000 MILES OF THE CLOSING REPAIR ORDER HOWEVER THE MANUFACTURER'S DECISION REMAINED IN DECLINING THE RECALL TO BE REOPENED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY NOT BEING DRIVEN DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 159,000.
MY FORD FUSION LOST POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING WITH MY KIDS AT 45 MPH ON A CITY STREET. LUCKILY NO CARS WERE AROUND ME AND I WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER TO SAFETY. I TURNED THE CAR OFF, BACK ON, STILL NO POWER STEERING. RECEIVED WARNING FOR ADVANCE TRACK AND SERVICE POWER STERLING NOW. CHECKED ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS AND CLEANED BATTERY WITHOUT ANY LUCK. DISCOVERED THERE NEEDS TO BE AN ENTIRE REPLACEMENT OF THE EPAS SYSTEM ON MY CAR. THIS HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR THE YEARS 2011 AND 2012 HOWEVER NOT FOR 2010, WHICH IS THE FIRST YEAR THIS SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED. ISSUE OCCURRED AT 85,000 MILES. FOUND OUT THAT THE REPAIRS ON MY CAR WILL COST BETWEEN $1800 TO $2000 DOLLARS. THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE AS THE OTHER RECALLS HAVE BEEN PLACED, BUT FORD IS NEGLECTING THE YEAR IN WHICH THE SYSTEM WAS FIRST INSTALLED, PUTTING MYSELF, MY CHILDREN, AND OTHERS AT RISK.
MY 2010 FORD FUSION HAS A " POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MSG AS WELL AS A "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC". THESE BOTH CAME ON 8 DAYS AGO (8/18/2017), WITHIN A FEW MINUTES OF EACH OTHER. THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MSG CAME ON WHEN I STARTED MY CAR UP. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR, BUT AFTER ABOUT 2 MILES OR SO THE "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" MSG CAME ON. I HAD A DIAGNOSTIC DONE THAT DAY AND NO FAULTS CAME UP EVEN THOUGH THE MESSAGES WERE STILL DISPLAYED ON DASH SCREEN, AND I STILL HAD NO POWER STEERING. I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AT THIS TIME. STEERING IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH THE DEALERSHIP, BUT AS YET, MY CALLS HAVE NOT BEEN RETURNED. ADDITIONALLY, I CALLED THE NATIONAL FORD HOT LINE AND GOT NO WHERE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. I AM SURE THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT THE ONLY 2010 HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A NATION WIDE RECALL ON NUMEROUS VEHICLES WITH THIS EXACT SAME ISSUE.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND QUICKLY DECELERATED FROM 65 MPH TO LESS THAN 20MPH. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WHO SAID THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE ON THE NON-HYBRID FORD FUSION FOR WHICH FORD HAS ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UNDER CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03 HOWEVER FORD HAS EXCLUDED HYBRIDS AND MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS THAT HAVE THE SAME THROTTLE BODY PART.
ROLLS WHILE IN PARK
I RECEIVED A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE ON THE DASH READOUT WHILE BACKING UP IN A PARKING STRUCTURE. STEERING LOCKED UP AND COULD NOT TURN STEERING WHEEL OR CHANGE DIRECTIONS. I WAS ABLE TO RESET IT BY TURNING OFF AND ON THE IGNITION. LUCKILY THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING. TWO DAYS LATER I WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO FORD SERVICE CENTER. SEEM LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME. CAR IS A 2010 AND HAS 118K MILES. THE SERVICE MANAGER AND WORKERS WERE VERY CONCERNED THAT WE DROVE THE CAR TOT HE DEALERSHIP. THEY KNOW OF THESE ISSUES AND REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE ANY ASSISTANCE TO THE CONSUMER WITH WARRANTY OR RECALL. I GUESS WE NEED A FEW MORE DEAD HUMANS BEFORE THEY TAKE NOTICE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.

CAN NOT DUPLICATE OR VERIFY. VISUAL INSPECTION WAS PERFORMED BY A CERTIFIED FORFOR TECHNICIAN INCLUDING WIRING HARNESS AND CONNECTOR INSPECTION NO PROBLEMS FOUND.I WAS DRIVING LOW SPEED AS THIS HAPPENED TWICE, I WAS ON A CITY STREET.
"POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MY 2010 FORD FUSION CONTINUES TO LOOSE POWER STEERING AT RANDOM TIMES AND WITH NO NOTICE. THIS HAS OCCURRED AFTER STARTING AND PULLING AWAY, AFTER BEING ON THE ROAD AT A STOP LIGHT OR DRIVING. THE BIGGEST FEAR IS WHILE DRIVING ALL OF A SUDDEN NO POWER STEERING AND A "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" APPEARS IN THE CENTER OF MY INSTRUMENT PANEL WITH ENDLESS RINGING OF A QUICK CHIME. REGARDLESS, OF MY LOCATION ON ANY ROAD I CAN NOT STEER THE CAR. I MUST STOP CAR PLACE IN PARK TURN THE KEY OFF AND AND RESTART THE CAR. THIS MAY NOT HAPPEN AGAIN FOR A DAY, WEEK, YEAR MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO DUPLICATE AT THE DEALERS. NO CODES ARE THROWN BY THE COMPUTER FOR READING. REPEAT VISITS TO THE DEALER HAVE BEEN IN VAIN. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING RANDOMLY FOR FIVE YEARS. ALTHOUGH IT HAS GOTTEN TO BE AT MINIMUM TWO TIMES WEEK. THIS WEEK THREE TIMES IN ONE DAY. THE CAR NOW HAS 52,002 MILES. MAINTENANCE IS ON REGULAR TIME SCHEDULES AND MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION. NOW I AM TOLD THAT A FIX JUST SHORT OF $1700.00 IS NEEDED TO MAKE MY CAR SAFE. THIS MODEL CAR IS WELL DOCUMENTED ITSELF THROUGH THE DEALERSHIP. THE INTERNET IS NOW FULL OF SAME COMPLAINTS. NO ONE SHOULD BE DRIVING THESE CARS. I BOUGHT THE CAR INSPECTED FROM A DEALER AND BY NO FAULT OF MY OWN I AM HELD RANSOMED TO PAY OR PARK THE VEHICLE. FORD SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULLEST AND MAKE RECALLS TO CORRECT THESE ISSUES AND REIMBURSE ANYONE THAT HAS DOCUMENTED REPAIR BILLS FOR SUCH REPAIR. THIS IS A FALSE SENSE OF SAFETY FOR MANY VEHICLES TO INCLUDE 2010-2013 VEHICLES PROVING THAT FORD FAILED TO DISCLOSE THESE PROBLEMS TO THE CONSUMER PUTTING MILLIONS OF OWNERS AND OTHER HIGHWAY USERS AT RISK. I WAS DRIVING ON A REGULAR BUSY STREET AND ALL OF A SUDDEN WITHOUT NO WARNING THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT IT BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE CAR AND I COULD NOT CONTROL THE CAR OR MAKING IN TURNS IN THE CAR AND ENDED UP HITTING THE CURB AND WAS STUCK IN TRAFFIC. STARTED TO NOTICE THAT BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOORS WERE STICKING WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE THEN IT BEGAN TO HAPPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE TOO WHEN TRYING TO GET INTO THE VEHICLE. THEN ON 8/2/2017, HAD DROVE VEHICLE AND PARKED IT IN A PARKING LOT AND THE DRIVER SIDE INSIDE DOOR LATCH MADE A SNAPPING NOISE WHEN TRYING TO GET OUT OF CAR. HAD TO REACH OUT AND PULL HANDLE FROM OUTSIDE JUST TO GET OUT OF CAR. THEN WENT TO GET BACK INTO CAR AND THE LEVER WORKED FROM OUTSIDE BUT THEN DRIVER SIDE DOOR SWUNG OPEN AND ALMOST HIT THE PARKED CAR NEXT TO US WHEN WE WENT TO PULL OUT. LIKE I SAID PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS DOING SAME THING. THIS COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO GET TRAPPED IN THEIR CAR AFTER AN ACCIDENT OR GOT FORBID THE CAR WOULD CATCH ON FIRE AND OCCUPANTS OF THE CAR WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO GET OUT.
ENGINE WENT TO LIMP MODE.
ADVANCE TRACKING LIGHTS CAME ON AND BRAKES AND WAS TOLD THAT ITS A MODULE DEFECT WHICH ONLY CAN BE REPLACED BY FORD. THIS COULD LOVK UP MY BRAKES AND POSSIBLY CAUSE ACCIDENT OR DEATH.
FORD KNOWS OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK IN THE CARS BUT FORD AND NHTSA WONT DO A RECALL ON THEM AND IT IS COSTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX. FORD RAN A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM ON IT BUT THE OF COURSE STOPPED IT. I CAN NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE GOVERNMENT WOULD ALLOW FORD TO SCREW THE PUBLIC ON A MAJOR REPAIR.
TAKATA RECALL- RECEIVED NOTICE IN 2017 STATING OUR DAUGHTERS VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED. NOTICE STATED THE REMEDY WOULD BE AVAILABLE SOON AND I WOULD BE RECONTACTED. RECEIVED 2ND NOTICE STATING THE REMEDY WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN SPRING OF 2018. IT IS NOW MID AUGUST 2018 AND STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE! FORD HAS PUT MILLIONS OF LIVES IN DANGER!
STEERING CODES ERROR "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT", THEN I LOSE COMPLETE STEERING. VEHICLE THEN BECOMES VERY HARD TO CONTROL AND STEER.

LOOKS LIKE AN EXPENSIVE FIX. BASED ON THE NUMBER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, FORD SHOULD DO SOMETHING TO SERVICE THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. IT LOOKS LIKE A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM.

"TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 AND IT STILL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED DUE TO PARTS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR.
AFTER THE CAR ACTIVATES ABS, WHEN ABS IS DISENGAGED THE BRAKES ARE "SOFT". WHEN DEPRESSED, THEY FEEL LIKE NORMAL RESISTANCE, THEN ARE SOFT AND FINALLY STOP THE CAR AFTER FULLY DEPRESSING THE PEDAL. I HIT A SMALL WASHBOARD BUMPY STRETCH OF ROAD WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE, ABS KICKED IN AND IMMEDIATELY WENT OFF. BRAKES THEN SOFT.
IN LOWER GEARS / BELOW 3500 RPM, I WILL OCCASIONALLY EXPERIENCE A SUDDEN DECELERATION, AND THEN AN ABRUPT ACCELERATION AS THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTS TO MAKE IT TO THE COMMANDED SPEED. THIS ONLY OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ALREADY IN MOTION, MOST OFTEN CITY STREETS, OCCASIONALLY WHILE ACCELERATING ONTO A HIGHWAY. I BELIEVE THIS CREATES A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION, AS A DRIVER MAY NOT HAVE THE FULL, CONSISTENT ACCELERATION THAT HE EXPECTS TO HAVE. THIS ISSUE BEGAN SHORTLY AFTER RECEIVING "CHECK FUEL FILTER" CODES, DUE TO A POORLY DESIGNED INNER GAS CAP GASKET, WHICH ALLOWS FOR CONTAMINATION TO OBSTRUCT THE EASY FILL SYSTEM'S INNER SEAL. I BELIEVE THIS MAY ALSO BE RELATED TO AN ISSUE WITH A THROTTLE BODY CONTROLLER, SIMILAR TO THE MANY FORD PRODUCTS AND CUSTOMERS WHOM HAVE SUBMITTED PRIOR COMPLAINTS. NOT SURE WHY THOSE THROTTLE BODY CONTROLLERS DIDN'T GET A RECALL, THE PROBLEM IS COMMON ENOUGH AND THE POTENTIAL DAMAGE SUBSTANTIAL.
TAKATA RECALL. IS FORD EVER GOING TO GET THE PARTS TO FIX THIS. THERE COULD BE A MASSIVE LAWSUIT SOME DAY SOON.
