WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE SERVICE POWER STEERING AND ADVANCE TRACK WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT LOSING POWER STEERING OR OTHER ISSUES. UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE NEXT MORNING, THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL MOTOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED A CASE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT 80,00 MILES. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. UPDATED 06/21/17*LJ *CN

THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT DID NOT ILLUMINATE UNTIL AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT?S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 146,169.
POWER STEERING FAILURE. THIS SAME ISSUE HAS BEEN RECALLED ON THE 2011-2015 MODELS, BUT NOT ON 2010. I THINK IT IS RELATED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE EXITING THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,400.
WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. AFTER SOME READING I SAW THAT HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS COSTING UP TO 2000 DOLLARS TO FIX. THIS WAS ALL RELATED TO THE POWER ASSIST COMPONENT THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN RECALLED ON 2011 AND NEWER. 2010 WAS LEFT OUT YET HAS THE SAME ISSUE AS MINE DOES NOW. HAD THIS BEEN MY CHILDREN DRIVING THEY WOULD NOT HAVE HAS THE ARM STRENGTH TO TURN THE WHEEL. THIS ISSUE IS POSSIBLY DEADLY AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED QUICKLY. I NOW HAVE A CAR THAT I CAN NOT DRIVE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE. AS OF RIGHT NOW I WOULD LIKE TO SEE FORD INCLUDE 2010 AND OLDER THAT HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AS THE 2011 MODELS OR NEW MODELS HAVE. I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD FUSION IN A PARKING LOT AND WHEN MAKING A RIGHT TURN THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" AND "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC" LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. MY BOYFRIEND AND I WEREN'T SURE WHAT THAT MEANT SO WE CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME A FEW MINUTES DOWN THE ROAD. ONCE REACHING OUR DRIVEWAY THE CAR SEEMED A LITTLE HARDER TO TURN, BUT IT STILL WASN'T THAT BAD. WE DECIDED IN THE MORNING TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. WE STARTED THE CAR AND WE COULD NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. I DO SEE THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 2010 FORD FUSIONS, BUT FORD HAS NOT MADE THIS A RECALL AND THERE IS A LAWSUIT REGARDING THIS. THANKFULLY WE NOR ANYONE AROUND US WAS HURT, BUT NOW WE ARE LOOKING AT PAYING AROUND $1500 FOR REPAIRS. IT WOULD BE NICE IF FORD COULD HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED. *TR
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. ADVANCETRAC AND SERVICE POWER STEERING LIGHTS ARE ON.
LIKE SO MANY OTHERS HAVE EXPERIENCED, TODAY THE DRIVER DOOR HANDLE STOPPED WORKING. DOOR CANNOT BE OPEN FROM INSIDE. DRIVER MUST CLIMB OVER TO THE PASSENGER SIDE TO EXIT OR ELSE ROLL DOWN THE DRIVER WINDOW TO OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE AND THE THROTTLE BODY WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 245,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
POWER STEERING ASSIST IS LOST ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE PROBLEM CAN BE ALLEVIATED MOST OF THE TIME BY TURNING THE IGNITION OFF AND THEN RESTARTING THE CAR. SOMETIMES IT MAY TAKE REPEATING THIS PROCESS MULTIPLE TIMES. LUCKILY THE POWER STEERING ASSIST HAS NEVER STOPPED WORKING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.
MY POWER ASSIST UNIT HAS WENT TOTALLY OUT, HAVE MADE NUMEROUS CONTACTS WITH DEALER AND FORD WITH NO HELP, HOWEVER I WORK WITH SOMEONE WHO JUST HAD THEIR 2010 FUSION POWER ASSIST REPLACED BY RECALL AND HIS WAS NOT OUT! I AM STILL DRIVING WITH ABSOLUTELY NO POWER STEERING AT ALL!

I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN I GET AN ALERT OF LOW TIRE PRESSURE LESS THAN 1 MINUTE MY POWER STEERING BECAME EXTREMELY HARD DIFFICULT TO TURN I HAD PULL TO THE CLOSET PARKING I COULD FINE. IF I HAD BEEN ON THE FREEWAY I WOULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.

ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST COMPLETE FAILURE AROUND 100K MILES. POWER STEERING WAS INTERMITTENT FOR ABOUT A YEAR. WOULD START THE CAR AND IT WOULD NOT WORK, IT WOULD ALSO INDICATE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULTS ON THE DASH. TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT WOULD BE FINE. ONE DAY WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED AND NEARLY RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT AS I WAS IN A TURN. IT HAS NOT WORKED SINCE.
LUG NUTS ARE STRIPPED. THE DEALER STRIPPED THEM WHEN ROTATING THE TIRES. THE LUG NUTS ARE NOT CHROME PLATED, THEY HAVE A SHINY TIN COATING OVER THE BASE METAL. WHEN I TOOK IT TO A TIRE PLACE THEY SAID THEY HAD TROUBLE REMOVING THE WHEELS. I HAD TO PURCHASE NEW ONES FROM FORD. POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. NHTSA ALREADY HAS AN OPEN INVESTIGATION, I'M JUST ANOTHER PERSON EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM WITH MY 2010 FORD FUSION, WHICH HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED A RECALL BY FORD. EXTREME DIFFICULT TURNING THE CAR, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS.
I AM JUST WONDERING WHAT THE STATUS IS OF THE STEERING LOCKUP WITH THE 2010 FORD FUSIONS. MY SON HAS THIS CAR AND THE STEERING IS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. LUCKILY HE WAS NOT DRIVING IT. POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING ON MY 2010 FORD FUSION. POWER STEERING FAILED WHEN CAR WAS STARTED WHILE SITTING IN DRIVEWAY. TOOK TO SHOP AND TOLD A $1500 STEERING GEAR REPLACEMENT IS REQUIRED. 2011-13 YR MODELS WERE RECALLED FOR SAME PROBLEM. FORD WILL NOT AND HAS NOT YET INCLUDED 2010'S IN THE RECALL. 1000'S OF ONLINE COMPLAINTS
LEFT MY SISTERS HOME ON CHRISTMAS EVE AND WITHIN .25 MILE I RECEIVED A WARNING LIGHT INDICATING A STEERING ISSUE. WITHIN MINUTES MY STEERING WHEEL TIGHTENED UP SO TIGHT THAT MY STEP SON HAD TO GRAB THE WHEEL TO HELP ME TURN INTO A GAS STATION. IT WAS EXTREMELY FRIGHTFUL BECAUSE THE ROAD WE WERE ON WAS VERY CURVY AND IT WAS AT NIGHT! AFTER FEW TRIES WE ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME. MY SON LUCKILY WHO IS A VERY STRONG AND BIG 19YR OLD DROVE US HOME WHILE STATING THE STEERING FELT VERY TIGHT THAT HE ADMITTED IT REQUIRED GREAT STRENGTH TO KEEP CONTROL OF THE CAR. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR SINCE 2010 AND THIS MODEL HAS HAD A FULL THROTTLE BOTTLE RECALL (TWICE) A GAS TANK LINE RECALL, AIR BAG RECALL (WHICH I'M STILL WAITING FOR) AND THE A/C HAD TO BE REPLACED. THIS CAR IS AND HAS BEEN THE WORST MODEL OF ALL FUSIONS. I TOOK THIS CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHO THEN EXAMINED THE CAR AND DETERMINED IT WAS THE STEERING GEAR THAT HAS WENT OUT ON MY CAR AND IT WILL BE $1795 TO REPLACE!! THAT'S HALF THE PRICE OF WHAT THIS CAR IS EVEN WORTH NOT TO MENTION I HAD ALREADY PAID $1200 TO GET THE A/C FIXED OVER THE SUMMER. I SEARCHED ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHERS HAD THE SAME GEAR ISSUE AND BEHOLD GOOGLE SHOWS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN CALIFORNIA ABOUT IT AND OVER 500 RECALL COMPLAINTS YET FORD HAS NOT RECALLED IT! SERIOUSLY? I FEEL CONSIDERING THE PAST RECALLS ON THIS MODEL THAT THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN. IF MY STEP SON HAD NOT BEEN WITH ME TO ASSIST TURNING THE WHEEL, I WOULD HAVE NO DOUBT WRECKED ON THIS CURVY ROAD CHRISTMAS WEEKEND. WHICH SADLY STRANDED US BECAUSE OF HOW FORD CARELESSLY THREW THIS MODEL OF THE FUSHION OUT WITH SO MANY RECALLS. TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE FOR OVER A YEAR TRIED TO GET MY AIRBAG REPLACED. HUNTERSVILLE, NC FORD HAS BEEN CONTACTED SEVERAL TIMES AND SO FAR THEY HAVE REFUSED TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG. SO, I EVENTUALLY CALLED CAPITAL FORD OF CHARLOTTE, NC ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO WITH NO BETTER LUCK. I CONTACTED FORD, CORPORATE TWICE AND THE ONLY RESPONSE THEY ACHE GIVEN ME IS TO CONTACT MY LOCAL DEALER. INTERESTINGLY ENOUGH, I CONTINUE TO RECEIVE MAIL FROM FORD REMINDING ME THAT I NEED TO GET MY AIRBAG REPLACED. EACH TIME I AM TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. WE ARE WANTING TO SELL OUR CAR, BUT SINCE THE RECALL IS NOT COMPLETE, THIS IS HINDERING ME BEING ABLE TO SELL IT SINCE A BUYER DOES NOT WANT TO BUY A CAR WITH AN OUTSTANDING RECALL. SO, EITHER FORD SHOULD BUY THE CAR FROM ME, OR REPLACE THE AIRBAG.

WE HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL RE-CALL NOTICES FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAG ISSUE IN OUR 2010 FORD FUSION OVER THE LAST SEVERAL YEARS. WE HAVE SPOKEN WITH OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES ALSO, BUT OUR VEHICLE STILL HAS NOT BEEN SERVICED. WE ALSO JUST RECEIVED A LETTER FROM THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY SAFETY AND MOTOR VEHICLES AND USDOT STATING THAT "ACCORDING TO RECORDS FROM FORD, YOU HAVE NOT YET RESPONDED TO THIS SAFETY RECALL TO HAVE THE NECESSARY FREE RECALL REPAIRS MADE." THIS IS NOT TRUE, AS WE STATED ABOVE. WE LIVE IN FLORIDA WHICH, ACCORDING TO THIS WEBSITE, IS IN ZONE A, AND SINCE OUR VEHICLE IS A 2010 MODEL, WE BELIEVE THAT WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN HIGH ON THE PRIORITY LIST FOR THIS RE-CALL FIX. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT, THAT IS CURRENTLY ON RECALL FOR 2011 AND UP, IS THE SAME EXACT THING THAT IS HAPPENING TO MY 2010. I NEED THE 2010 TO BE REEVALUATED AND ADDED TO THAT RECALL. I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE THE POWER STEERING TO GO OUT, THIS IS 100% ON FORD. THEY NEED TO FIX THE ISSUE. I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AND IF I WERE TO EVER WRECK DUE TO THIS ISSUE, I WILL INVOLVE LAWYERS AND GET THE FORD NAME INVOLVED. 2010 NEEDS TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL!!!!!! I AM NOT THE ONLY 2010 WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. IF ITS HAPPENING TO THOUSANDS OF 2010'S, IT IS A FORD RECALL ISSUE. NOT CAR OWNER ISSUE. I NEED THIS PROBLEM FIXED NOW.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 127,600.
WHEEL STUDS FRACTURE WHILE IN MOTION ON SMOOTH ROADWAYS CITY STREETS AS WELL AS HIGHWAYS AT VARIABLE SPEEDS BETWEEN 5MPH TO 60MPH . STUDS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 7 TIMES. ISSUE IS REOCCURRING.
FORD SENT A RECALL NOTICE IN DECEMBER 2016, I HAVE WAITING 2 MONTHS AND HAVE CONTACTED 2 DEALERSHIPS. NO ONE WAS HAS THE PARTS TO MAKE THIS REPAIR. NEITHER DO THEY HAVE A DATE OF EXPECTANCY. JEOPARDIZING BOTH MY SAFETY/LIFE AS WELL AS MY CHILD. I CALLED AROUND IN JANUARY AND STILL HAVE NOT FOUND ANYONE TO PROVIDE DETAILS OF WHEN. WHILE DRIVING IN TOWN ALL THE SUDDEN MY SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. THE POWER STEERING WAS STILL WORKING I WAS ON THE WAY OUT OF TOWN SO I STOPPED SHUT MY CAR DOWN AND RESTARTED AND GOT THE ERROR SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW WARNING LIGHTS AND LOST POWER STEERING. LUCKY AT THIS TIME I WAS DRIVING AND NOT EITHER OF MY TEENAGE SONS. NOT SURE WHY THESE GO OUT UNEXPECTEDLY WITH NO WARNING BUT SEEING THAT THERE ARE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS WITH THIS HAPPENING YET THE RECALL STARTS IN 2011 TO FIX THIS? *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. *TR
WITHOUT WARNING, DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS WE LOST POWER. GOT THE CAR STARTED AGAIN AND REALIZED THERE WAS NO HEAT, THEN NOTICED THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE WAS ON HOT. THE BATTERY LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIGHT TURNED ON. WE EVENTUALLY HAD TO BE TOWED AT A COST OF $460. THE MASTER MECHANIC IDENTIFIED THE WATER PUMP CRACKED, THEN RESEALED ITSELF AND COOLANT MIXED WITH THE OIL WHICH KILLED THE ENGINE. HE SAID THERE WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ANY WARNING AND THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SEEN BEFORE AND IS CATASTROPHIC. WE NOW HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE AT A COST OF $8000. THERE ARE FORUMS ONLINE WITH OTHER FUSION OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE BUT NO RECOGNITION OR RECALL FROM FORD. I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THIS CAR SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT. I HAD TO HAVE MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY REPLACED TWICE, ALSO NOT A RECALL BY FORD BUT A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. I GUESS THEY ARE OK WITH HAVING CARS LITERALLY TURNING OFF AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS BEFORE THEY FIX THE ISSUES. *TR
THE BRAKES SEEM TO LOSE PRESSURE, SO THAT THE PEDAL HAS TO BE PUSHED ALMOST ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR BEFORE GRABBING. IT TAKES LONGER TO STOP THAN IT SHOULD IN THOSE INSTANCES. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, BUT IS NOT A CONSISTENT PROBLEM. THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS IT CAN FIND NO PROBLEM. IT SEEMS AS IF IT COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF IT OCCURRED AT THE WRONG TIME. IT OCCURS WHEN DRIVING AND TRYING TO COME TO A STOP. *TR
THE BRAKE PEDAL ON MY FORD FUSION SPORT WENT SOFT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR WHEN COMING TO AN INTERSECTION IN COLD SLIPPERY CONDITIONS. THIS CONDITION HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN TWO WEEKS. I HAD THE CAR CHECKED OUT BY A FORD DEALER AND THEY FOUND NOTHING. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TWO WEEKS LATER SLOWING DOWN (40MPH) APPROACHING A SHARP CORNER. THIS TIME THE BRAKES DID NOT RECOVER. THE DEALER IS CHANGING THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT FOR THE ABS SYSTEM. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS CONDITION AND WARRANTS A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. IT IS GOING TO COST ME $1,900 TO REPAIR AND FORD SHOULD BE PAYING FOR THIS THROUGH THE RECALL PROCESS. I DO NOT WANT ANYONE INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS FAILURE MODE.
MY CHILD WAS DRIVING MY FORD 2010 FUSION AND IT SUDDENLY CAUGHT FIRE DESTROYING THE ENGINE AND SURROUNDING COMPONENTS, EVERYTHING INSIDE THE CAR WAS MELTED. FIRE DESTROYED THE FRONT OF THE INSIDE OF THE CAR . THERE WERE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR OTHER WARNING SIGNS DISPLAYED ON THE CAR DASHBOARD. *TR
