THE POWER STEERING ON MY CAR STOPPED WORKING AS I WAS DRIVING. LUCKILY, I WAS LOCAL AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO A MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC SAID THE CAR NEEDS A NEW POWER STEERING RACK AND PINION EVEN THOUGH TE CAR HAS LESS THAN 75K MILES ON IT.
THIS VEHICLE IS MY 8 MONTH PREGNANT WIFE'S DAILY DRIVER. SHE DROVE TO THE STORE AND BACK AND HAD NOTICED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS SOFT FEELING. SO I CHECKED IT OUT MYSELF AND SURE ENOUGH THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES DOWN OVER HALF WAY TO FLOOR BEFORE YOU FEEL ANY PRESSURE SOMETIMES CLOSER TO THE FLOOR. SHE TOLD ME THAT THE ABS WAS TRIGGERED ON HER WAY TO THE STORE. WE HAD A BIG SNOW STORM A DAY BEFORE SO IT WAS SLICK OUT. THE ABS ONLY CLICKED FOR A SPLIT SECOND COMING TO A STOP LIGHT AND THAT'S WHEN THE BRAKES STARTED BEING SOFT AFTER THE ABS KICKED IN FOR A SPLIT SECOND. WE HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR A FEW YEARS NOW BOUGHT IT WITH ONLY 68,000 MILES. THE CAR NOW HAS 133,100 MILES ON IT AND THIS IS FIRST TIME WE HAVE HAD THE ABS TRIGGERED AND NOW THIS PROBLEM HAS SHOWED UP. SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND A VERY UNSAFE ONE. MY WIFE IS STARTING TO THINK THIS ISN'T A SAFE CAR FOR US HAVING OUR FIRST CHILD BEING IN IT AND MAKING TRIPS.
POWER STEERING KEEPS GOING OUT. MECHANIC FIXES BUT ONLY LAST A FEW MILES THTHETHTHEN GOES OUT AGAIN.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE POWER STEERING ABILITY FAILED. THE CONTACT PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE STEERING RACK FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 132,000.
POWER STEERING ASSIST LIGHT CAME ON AND CAR IS EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER. I DROVE TO TOWN FINE PARKED CAME OUT OF STORE AND THIS LIGHT WAS ON.

STEERING KEEPS PULLING TO THE LEFT, DOME LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING
POWER STEERING FAULT LIGHT CAME ON WHEN STARTED, POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING, WHICH MAKES IT DANGEROUS. RESTARTED IT WORKED, COUPLE DAYS LATER DID THE SAME THING.. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY. AFRAID TO DRIVE VEHICLE, MAY HAPPEN ON HIGHWAY. 7

IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE, LOW TIRE PRESSURE, AND STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM WARNING INDICATORS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED CAVALIER FORD (1515B S. MILITARY HWY, CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320, 866-385-6930) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 115,702.
I WAS DRIVING HOME WHEN OUT OF NOWHERE MY CAR STARTS DINGING SAYING 'SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW' & I LOST CONTROL OF THE POWER STEERING.. THE WHEEL IMMEDIATELY LOCKED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE STEERING SEIZED. AS A RESULT, THE ENTIRE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE STRUCK A GUARDRAIL. THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED, DIAGNOSED, OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME SPONGY AND WENT TO THE FLOOR NOT STOPPING THE CAR. WHEN IT WAS CHECKED OUT THE MECHANIC SAID THE ABS HYDRAULIC PUMP IS BAD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARSHAL MIZE FORD (LOCATED AT 5348 TN-153, HIXSON, TN 37343, (423) 875-2023), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
WHEN CLOSING THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IT WON'T LATCH CLOSED. THE DOOR BUMPS BACK WITHOUT CLOSING. IT TAKES AT LEAST TWO ATTEMPTS TO CLOSE THE DOOR. THIS STARTED WHEN LEAVING THE VEHICLE AND TRYING TO CLOSE THE DOOR. IT TAKES SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO PROPERLY CLOSE THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE VEHICLE SINCE THIS STARTED.

TAKATA RECALL ISSUED IN JUNE 2016 BUT THE DEALER SAID THEY WILL CONTACT ME ONCE THEY HAVE RECEIVED THE PART BUT I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING ELSE.
I WAS NEVER CONTACTED ABOUT ANY RECALLS. MY MOTHER CONTACTED ME THROUGH EMAIL TO SEE IF I KNEW ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL. 2 RECALLS I ONLY LEARNED ABOUT TODAY BY CHECKING MY CREDIT REPORT BECAUSE THE AGENCY THAT HOLDS THE TITLE REPORTED MY ACCOUNT FOR NON-PAYMENT. I RECIEVED A CARFAX REPORT WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AUGUST 2017 FROM DRIVETIME. I WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. NOW, I AM SEEING 4 RECALLS, 2 OF WHICH (2014 & 2016) HAVE APPEARED ONLY NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS BEING SERVICED. I WAS PROBABLY THE ONLY IDIOT IN AMERICA THAT WOULD HAVE BOUGHT THE HIGH-MILEAGE, OVER-PRICED VEHICLE IN THE 1ST PLACE. I WAS TOLD IT HAD BEEN A FLEET VEHICLE FOR A RENTAL CAR AGENCY. I THOUGHT I WAS GETTING A SAFE VEHICLE. BUT MY FEELING NOW, IS THAT IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SOLD. I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO. THE VEHICLE MAY GET REPOSSESSED AND I AM FEELING CHEATED. I SENT THE CAR TO THE 1ST AUTO BODY SHOP AND THEY WANTED $1470 FOR ALL THE REPAIRS. I CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY, THEY TOLD ME THE CAR COULD GET REPAIRED FREE OF CHARGE AT AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE 2ND SHOP. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THAT DEALERSHIP SINCE FEBRUARY 1ST. MY ESTIMATE IS ABOUT $260. I'M NOT SURE WHAT I'M EXPECTING TO HAPPEN, BUT I ATTACHED A PHOTO OF THE FUEL OVERFLOW HOSE LEAKING FUEL EVEN WHEN THE TANK WAS NOT FULL. IT WOULD DO THIS REGULARLY AND THAT IS 1 OF THE 2 NEW RECALLS THAT APPEARED. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I JUST WANT SOME RELIABLE ANSWERS AND SOLUTIONS BEFORE I SHELL OUT ANY FURTHER MONEY ON A CAR THAT HAS PUT ME, MY FAMILY AND OTHER PEOPLE AT RISK. PLEASE HELP. THANKS IN ADVANCE.......
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. PRIOR TO THE NOISE, THE CONTACT NOTICED A BURNING ODOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO FOUND GREASE INSIDE THE TRANSFER CASE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PARAMOUNT FORD OF VALDESE (101 MALCOLM BLVD SUITE A, VALDESE, NC 28690, (828) 338-9348) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TAKATA RECALL AT LEAST TWO YEARS AGO, I WAS NOTIFIED (VIA MAIL) OF THE TAKATA RECALL. I'VE CALLED AROUND TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIPS SEVERAL TIMES BUT WAS TOLD BY EACH THAT PARTS FOR THAT RECALL WASN'T AVAILABLE AND THEY WASN'T SURE WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THEM IN. ALSO, I'VE HAD THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL CAR 3 WEEKS PRIOR OF GETTING THE ONE I CURRENTLY HAVE DUE TO AN ACCIDENT WHERE NEITHER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. THOUGH NOTHING HAS HAPPENED IN MY CURRENT VEHICLE, I FEAR THAT IF SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN, I CAN'T RELY ON THE SAFETY OF THE AIRBAGS TO PROTECT MY OCCUPANTS. I'VE TAKEN THE NECESSARY STEPS TO TRY AND HAVE THIS ISSUE RESOLVED AS SOON AS I CAN BUT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE IF THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. THE AIRBAG IS A VERY IMPORTANT ELEMENT ON THE CAR AND KNOWING THAT IT DOESN'T WORK SUFFICIENTLY, TERRIFIES ME EVERY TIME I DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND IT'S MY ONLY MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION.

TAKATA AIR BAGS
POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHILE IN TRAFFIC. THREE CHILDREN WERE PASSENGERS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. THE CAR BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL AND STEER. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AND IN TRAFFIC AND A RAINY MORNING ON THE WAY TO SCHOOL.
WHILE DRIVING, ON A CITY STREET, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR,.. I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO GET BACK THE PRESSURE. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, DRIVING, AND ALSO WHILE I WAS PARKED AND HAD JUST PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE TO PULL OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC, WHO INSPECTED THE BRAKES (WHICH WERE LESS THAN A YEAR OLD),. HE CHECKED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG, AND BRAKE FLUID WAS ACCURATE. THE BRAKES CONTINUED TO LOOSE PRESSURE FROM TIME TO TIME, SO I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC, WHO FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH BRAKES, MASTER CYLINDER, NO LEAKS, AND ABS HYDRAULIC SYSTEM SHOWED NO WARNINGS. IN RESEARCHING INTERNET COMPLAINTS, I HAVE FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME NATURE.
WE HAVE HAD TWO BABIES SINCE THE RECALL AND NEED A LARGER VEHICLE TO TRANSPORT OUR FAMILY --WE CAN'T WAIT YEARS FOR RECALL PARTS AND STORE THIS VEHICLE WITH ZERO VALUE. THE VIN SEARCH ON YOUR HOMEPAGE DOESN'T WORK --I TRIED IT 8 TIMES AND IT'S NON FUNCTIONAL.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH, APPROACHING A STOPLIGHT WHEN I WENT TO PRESS THE BRAKES AND THE CAR DIDN'T SLOW DOWN. I HAD TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR AND NARROWLY MISSED A SEMI THAT WAS TURNING AT THE MOMENT. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH OR ANYTING TO INDICATE THAT THE ABS FAILED. IT TAKES A LONGER DISTANCE TO STOP THE CAR, THERE IS LITTLE TO NONE BRAKE PRESSURE AND I CAN NOT MAKE SUDDEN STOPS. I WAS TOLD IT WAS THE ABS MODULE AND IT FAILED. FORD WANTS OVER $1,000 TO GET THIS FIXED. I RESEARCHED AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A STANDARD PROBLEM FOR THE 2011 FUSION. AN INVESTIGATION WAS OPENED EARLIER THIS YEAR INTO FORD DUE TO THE MANY ABS COMPLAINTS. THEY HAVE KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS AND HAVE YET TO ISSUE A RECALL. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR WORSE.
AFTER MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY, HIS FUSION WAS GIVEN TO OUR GRANDSON. THE STEERING HAS NOW SEIZED UP AND HE IS UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR. FORD DEALERSHIP SAID THERE IS NO CURRENT RECALL AND REFERRED TO WARRANTY. VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN FIXED AND IS A DANGER FOR ANYONE IN MY FAMILY TO TRY AND DRIVE. DANGEROUS, DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WILL BE CONTACTING FORD.
TOOK MY CAR TO GET INSPECTED FOR THE POWER STEERING RECALL BACK IN 2016 AND WAS CLEARED. RANDOMLY I GET THE MESSAGE " POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND IT DISAPPEARS EVERY TIME I RESTART MY CAR SO I TOOK TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP A FEW MONTHS AGO AND FOUND NOTHING. RECENTLY, THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE COMES ON MORE OFTEN. MY CAR DOESNT SHOW ANY PROBLEM DURING THE TIME THE RECALL WAS SENT BUT NOW, THE POWER STEERING ISSUE THAT WAS RECALLED IS MY MAJOR PROBLEM. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN CLEARED OF THE RECALL LIST SINCE I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND FOUND NO POWER STEERING ISSUE AT THAT TIME.IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO FOR FORD TO FIX THIS ISSUE NOW?
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT ON 2011 FORD FUSION SE. TRI STAR FORD HAS RAN TESTS AND STATES NO PRESENT PROBLEMS ON 12/13/2017. I HAVE TIME STAMPED PHOTOS AND RECORDINGS OF AT LEAST SEVEN DIFFERENT TIMES THAT IT HAS HAPPENED. I WAS ADVISED TO RECORD THIS, BUT WOULD HAVE MANY MORE IF I HAD DONE SO FROM THE BEGINNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED STATIONARY, IN MOTION IN PARKING LOTS, PULLING OUT ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY. I FEEL THAT IT HAS PUT MY LIFE AND THE LIVES OF OTHERS IN DANGER. I WOULD LIKE FORD TO STEP FORWARD AND TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ISSUE BEFORE IT IS TO LATE.
I HAVE EXPERIENCED AN UNEXPECTED DECREASE IN MY VEHICLE'S BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS AFTER NEEDING TO BRAKE STRONGLY IN THE RAIN. MY BRAKE PEDAL HAS GONE SOFT AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO THE FLOOR. AT FIRST, I WAS UNABLE TO STOP WITHIN MY DESIRED STOPPING DISTANCE WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND HAD A COUPLE NEAR COLLISION EXPERIENCES WHILE IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY DURING TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD TO ADJUST MY BRAKING THOUGH I FEEL VERY UNSAFE. I HAVE READ SEVERAL ARTICLES THAT THIS HAS BECOME AN ISSUE WITH 2006-2012 FORD FUSIONS (MINE IS A 2011) AND IS DUE TO A MALFUNCTION WITH THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT. I DECIDED TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO FORD TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND THEY JUST REPORTED THAT THERE IS "DEFINITELY AN ISSUE WITH YOUR BRAKES" AND THEY "THINK" IT'S THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT BUT THEY "AREN'T SURE". NOW I'M LEFT WITH THE OPTION TO EITHER PAY THOUSANDS FOR WORK THEY AREN'T SURE WILL RESOLVE THE ISSUE OR CONTINUE DRIVING WITH THIS DEFECT.
MY SON WENT TO MOVE PUT OF HIS PARKING SPACE AND THE STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE, AND THE BRAKES WERE ALSO GONE. WE HAD THE ENTIRE BRAKE SYSTEM REPLACED LAST YEAR ALREADY AS THEY WENT OUT WHEN MY 17YR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THE CAR, THAT COST $2600 AND NOW THE IT HAPPENS AGAIN ALONG WITH THE STEERING. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 90K MILES ON IT AND SHOULD NOT BE DOING THIS WE HAD PLANNED TO SELL THIS CAN BUT NOW WE CANNOT AS IT IS A DANGER TO ANYONE DRIVING IT. FROM THIS SITE I CAN SEE BOTH ISSUES ARE KNOWN, SO HOW IS FORD GETTING AWAY WITH SELLING CARS THAT ARE COMPLETELY UNSAFE? WHEN THE BRAKES WENT FOR MY DAUGHTER SHE WAS ON A 45MPH ROAD BUT LUCKILY SHE COULD PULL IN SOMEWHERE SAFELY. WITH MY SON HE WAS JUST PULLING OUT OF THE SPOT, AND HE STOPPED THE CAR FINALLY, TURNED IT ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES AND ALL WAS BACK TO NORMAL BUT THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, THE CAR IS A DANGER TO ANYONE IN IT R NEAR IT, AS WHO KNOWS WHEN IT WILL DECIDE TO LOSE THE STEERING AGAIN? WE WON'T USE IT ANYMORE, BUT WE DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT. IT IS ESSENTIALLY WORTHLESS EVEN THOUGH IT IS ONLY 7YRS OLD AND LOW MILEAGE. VILLAGE FORD IN DEARBORN FIXED THE BRAKE ISSUE LAST YWEAR ON THIS CAR.
SEPT. 27TH 2017, FORD 'FIXED' MY CAR, 79,332 MILES. PROBLEM WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE DRIVING. FORD REPLACED STEERING GEAR AND REPROGRAMMED PSCM. NOW A LITTLE OVER A YEAR LATER, CAR IS DOING THE SAME THING, 3X TODAY, 10/9/18, ONCE LAST WEEK, TWICE 3 WEEKS AGO. ONLY 88,500 MILES.(LESS THAN 10,000 FROM FIX).
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN AND COAST IT ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO CAPITAL CITY FORD (8623 EAST WASHINGTON STREET, INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA 46219, (317) 898-0700) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY AND POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE EXCEEDED THE OPTION OF HAVING THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.

THE SUBJECT VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A RACK MOUNTED ELECTRIC POWER ASSISTED STEERING (EPAS) UNIT. SOME OF THE COMPLAINTS ALLEGED THAT THE STEERING ASSIST FAILED AND RESULTED IN INCREASED STEERING EFFORTS THAT CONTRIBUTED TO A LOSS OF CONTROL AND IN SOME CASES A CRASH. THE EPAS SYSTEM WAS MANUFACTURED BY TRW AUTOMOTIVE FOR FORD AND WAS DESIGNATED AS GENERATION I. THESE UNITS WERE FIRST PRODUCED AND PUT INTO VEHICLE PRODUCTION IN JULY 2008 BEGINNING WITH THE MODEL YEAR (MY) 2010 FORD FUSION AND MERCURY MILAN. THE SYSTEM IS COMPRISED OF A MECHANICAL STEERING RACK-AND-PINION GEAR WITH TORQUE SENSOR, ELECTRIC ASSIST MOTOR, MOTOR POSITION SENSOR AND A POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE (PSCM). THE PSCM IS SELF-MONITORING AND DESIGNED TO DETECT FAULTS WITHIN THE SYSTEM AND CAN STORE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) IF A PROBLEM IS DETECTED. THERE ARE 29 POTENTIAL DTCS THE SYSTEM CAN DETECT. MANY OF THESE ALLOW THE SYSTEM TO GO INTO REDUCED-ASSIST STEERING MODE BY USING THE DEFAULT VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL SHOULD THE LIVE SPEED SIGNAL BE LOST, IF VOLTAGE TO EPAS SYSTEM FALLS BELOW 10.7 OR GOES ABOVE 17 VOLTS, THE TEMPERATURE AT THE PSCM GOES ABOVE 105C (221F), OR IF HIGH FRICTION IS DETECTED. THE CARS P2119 AND P2112 TROUBLE LIGHTS AND THE WRENCH LIGHT KEEP APPEARING. THE CAR SUDDENLY LOSES POWER REGARDLESS OF SPEED OR LOCATION. MY RESEARCH INDICATES FORD IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM HOWEVER THEY ONLY OFFERED TO FIX IT FOR 4 MONTHS. THIS VEHICLE WAS ELIGIBLE AND THEY WILL NOT REPAIR IT. I BELIEVE THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IF MY DAUGHTER HAD BEEN DRIVING SHE WOULD HAVE PANICKED AND POSSIBLY PUT HER LIFE IN DANGER
THE ABS LIGHT AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON WHEN STARTING CAR AND CHIMES AND THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL IS DISPLAYED ON DASH. THEN WHEN STARTING TO DRIVE AND STOPPING BRAKE PEDAL SEAMS SOFT. AFTER DRIVING ABOUT A MILE THE LIGHTS GO OFF AND BRAKING IS NORMAL. IT SEAMS LIKE IT'S THE ABS CONTROL. THERE HAS BEAN A RECALL ON EARLIER MODEL YEARS TO REPLACE ABS CONTROL ASSEMBLY.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE IT WAS LIKE THE DOOR HANDLE HAD BROKEN ON THE INSIDE. IN ORDER TO OPEN THE DOOR I HAVE TO PRESS MY UNLOCK BUTTON AND PULL THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE MULTIPLE TIMES.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SHEEHY FORD OF MARLOW HEIGHTS (5000 AUTH RD, MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD 20746) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 123,380.

I WENT OUT INE MORNING TO START MY CAR EVERY THING WAS FINE . ONCE I WAS DRIVING BACK TO MY RESIDENTS MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP ON ME UPON TURNING IN. THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT WENT OFF ON THE LITTLE SCREEN IN THE DASH! I AM LUCKY THAT I WAS IN MY PARKING LOT AND NOT TURNING INTO A STREET WHEN MY CAR LOCKES UP ON ME!!! I HAD MY CHILD IN MY CAR! I AM NOW LONGER ABLE TO USE MY CAR BECAUSE OF THIS MALFUNCTION! MY CHILD HAS SEIZURES AND OTHER MEDICAL ISSUES THAT WE HAVE TO GO TO APPOINTMENTS FOR! AND I HAVE NOW LOST MY JOB DUE TO THIS! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! SOMETHING SERIOUS COULD HAVE HAPPENED WITH MY TODDLER IN THE CAR!

BRAKE PEDAL FEEL IS SPONGY AND TRAVELS ALMOST TO THE FLOOR BEFORE BRAKES ENGAGE.
