I was leaving a gas station and was backing out of parking stall when I lost all power steering and could barely turn steering wheel so I put it in park and shut off car then started car again and had power steering again..thi s happened 4 times driving home...when I tried to leave home the power steering was gone...on every occasion the power steering assist fault light came on car message center...the last time the warning message stayed on ..I dont see a recall for my vehicle but there is for other models
The power steering failed after restarting the car. A warning light related to the power steering came on on and I stopped the car a couple minutes later to get gas and when I turned it back on, there was no longer any power steering. My car was not covered by the previous power steering recall.

Driving down highway going approximately 45 mph when the advance trac system light came on. Informing of power steering malfunction to get service immediately. Pulled over and turned car off. The power steering reverted to manual with light still signally repair. Drove it home and called dealership. Said we are out of warranty and would be a $119 diagnostic fee plus whatever repairs are. However, the same thing occurred in 2018 and when we took it to dealership we had the warranty which covered the diagnostic. Roger Shiflett of Gaffney, SC looked at it in 2018, never mentioned the 2015 recall. Told us that it went off because the tire treads were not the same and caused it to malfunction. Reset it and sent us on our way. So here we are again but this time out of warranty and out of pocket and have no way to know if the recall was done or if we need it done until I take it back to the same dealership to be charged for the diagnostic.
I have safety concern with my vehicle, because if I am driving there’s a triangle shape light that pops up and when it happened it automatically reduces the speed of the car and sometimes shuts it off while other drivers are driving behind me. This happens to me frequently and the most recent was yesterday 8/9/2021 at a traffic light the vehicle completely shuts off and this is very concerning with my safety and that of my family and I don’t know the problem and how to get it fix. This is a major safety issue and I hope to get an answer from you people and have the problem taking care of. Brake system failed, brake is hard to push and has to go to the floor to stop. Brake light, emergency brake, ABS and traction light stays on. Car is not drivable.
This problem has occurred more than once in the past month, the last time being July 3, 2021. I have not driven it since then. The previous times it happened, I turned the car off, and restarted it. That does not correct the problem now. I Only have 72446 miles on this car. Brake went all the way to the floor and I could not stop. Displayed on my dash: SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC -BRAKE CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM -BRAKE - ABS. I was extremely lucky when this happened, but it could have resulted in a serious accident. It seemed to correct itself, but has happened again. The dash displays appear each time I start the car, so I an not able to drive it now. I will have to get it somewhere to be repaired.

2011 Ford Fusion and fortunately I was trapped within the car in a safe location, I can't imagine what would have happened had I had an automobile accident and was unable to EXIT the automobile quickly and safely. It is incumbent upon FORD MOTOR COMPANY to repair this defective door handle / latch before someone is killed due to this faulty piece of plastic they have installed inside this make and model
I went to work the day my power steering went out it was driving fine that day I got home and parked in the driveway the next day I get in started up and when I put it reverse to back up I noticed that my power steering was not working I need to know if the recall on the power steering system is still in affect
We were driving and the power steering went completly out as discribed by other customers. I took the car to a Ford dealer in Barnwell Sc. Who told me the recall has never been repaired I called Ford because of the miles the dealer was told it was not under the recall despite the car being in for other recalls in the past. I spoke with someone in Manilla on a bad line that I could barely understand. She first told me the car had been serviced for the same issue back in Jan 5 2017 however the part had not been replaced. Despite a 10 year warranty on the fix it was over the mileage. Which it was over 150000 at the time of recall repair. She then tells me the fix was done and there was no mileage limit. So I repeatedly asked which is it to no avail. The unit was repaired at Dunlee Ford in Ohio 800-942-6305 back in 2017 but no parts were replaced.
Power steering cut out while making a turn onto another road. Has cut out intermittently several times in the past. Shutting down the car and putting it in park fixes the issue. Very dangerous to have it happen while driving.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the steering wheel became firm, and the power steering failure warning light was illuminated. After turning on my car, but before shifting to drive, the dashboard informed me that the Power Steering system had failed. I tried turning off the car and cranking it back up, to no avail. I called the Ford dealership in my area and they told me that there was a recall for this issue and they would take care of it. I made an appointment for the next day (Friday 6/18/2021) and took it in. I was forced to drive it to the dealership without power steering, because they informed me they did not offer towing services. They did not call me until Monday 6/21/2021 to tell me that the part is not covered under the recall and the warrantee had expired. They told me to call customer service, which I did. They informed me that the previous owner of the car had it inspected in 2015 and Ford did not find an issue regarding the recall # 15S18. They extended the warrantee on this part for 10 years from the date of purchase, which was May 11, 2011. My car is currently at the Ford dealership and cannot be safely driven until the power steering is fixed, which would cost over $1900.
One more than 10 occasions my vehicle has failed to properly stop. For now apparent reason my brakes will go all the way to the floor. I've had the vehicle inspected and taken to multiple repair shops, however the issue is never resolved. I've almost been involved in TWO serious accidents. There are recalls on this issue from 2006-2010 and I've seen many, many complaints with the same year (2011) and same vehicle. PLEASE HELP
My brake pedal stays down and I have very little brakes. i took it to my mechanic and he has been waiting for the part for over 6 months. I recently called him and he informed me that Ford was no longer manufacturing that brake part. What do i do now? My mom has a 2009 and she had the same issue and It was recalled. Will my car also be recalled or am I stuck with a car with bad brakes?
Wife called and said when she started he car she could not turn the wheel. I went to pick up the car and realized the power assist was not working. Took the car to the dealer where it was purchased by us. Was told that there was a recall on this component but that it had expired and our warranty expired 3 months before the incident. Dealer said the recall might be extended because so many people had reported this same problem. Paid $2500 to get the repair. Seems like there are a very high number of cars with this problem. Mileage on our car was only 72,000. None of the other 5 Ford cars we purchased since 2011 had similar problems with the steering.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while reversing, the steering wheel locked up and failed to move. The vehicle was restarted and functioned as designed. While I'm driving my brake pad goes all the way to the floor, it's scary because you have break fluid so why the issue, and then they work normal. This needs to be recalled soon, can't afford to buy another car. I see lot's of issues with this so whay isn't this already up for recall, maddenining. If Ford works so hard to sell you a vehicle they should work HARDER TO PROTECT THE OWNER'S OF THE VEHICLE.

The power steering assist fault alarm comes on when I start the car and the power steering does not work.
The power steering failed while driving this vehicle. Our local Ford dealer said that recall expired a month ago. I called Ford customer service to get more information. I was told that recall #15S18 was repaired on July 29, 2015. Ford would not pay for repair unless a second safety recall was issued on the faulty repair completed. The repair only lasted 6 years and there is only 107000 on this vehicle.
Over the history two months, my car is having steering fault issues. There have been times when I get in my car to heading to work just for the steering to lock up on me. I just got my car back for the dealership for the airbag recall. I understand the recall for the air. I can not comprehend why there has not been a recall on the steer. My brother who has the same make and model had the same issue.
The steering wheel becomes stiff and won’t move.. I can not turn it at all if I’m driving.. which can cause me to have an accident because I can’t even turn the wheel. Also I called Ford here in Mississippi and they said my particular VIN was not in the recall for power steering problems but it was in the years that were recalled. My teenager drives this car and that’s how we found out, she called me panicking and that could have ended very badly.

AT 138825 MILES, THE ENGINE BEGAN TO HAVE A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER #4, WHICH WAS INITIALLY A VACUUM HOSE LEAK. THEN, THE CAR STARTS HAVING AN EARTHQUAKE WHENEVER THE CAR IS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. THE CAUSE WOULD THEN BE AN EGR MALFUNCTION. AS TIME WENT BY, THE MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 4 SHOWS UP AGAIN. TOOK MY CAR TO THE SHOP TO HAVE THE ISSUE LOOKED AT, FOUND TO BE A CROSS THREADED SPARK PLUG, AND THEY RECOMMENDED THE CYLINDER HEAD BE REPLACED, THE ENGINE ASSEMBLY REPLACED, THE COOLANT BEING REPLACED, AND THE AC BEING RECHARGED. REPAIR WOULDVE COST $10,500.
MESSAGE CENTER INDICATED POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND THERE WAS A COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING.. THIS VEHICLE IS A 2011 BUT HAS ONLY 46,000 MILES ON IT.; TOOL IT TO FORD DEALER FOR DIGINOSTIC AND THEY SAID NO CODE AND STEERING RACK NEEDED REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE SINCE THE RECALL WAS ONLY FOR 10 YEARS.
THE POWER STEERING HAS SPORADICALLY FAILED TWICE WITHIN THE PAST MONTH WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEED (ONCE AT A GAS STATION, ANOTHER WHILE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT A STOP SIGN). THE INCIDENT WITH THE STOP SIGN ALMOST CAUSED A COLLISION BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED ON MY HAZARD LIGHTS AND DRIFTED TO A CURB ACROSS THE STREET. TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND BACK ON RESTORES POWER TO THE STEERING WHEEL. THE STEERING WHEEL IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN WHEN THE POWER FAILS. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND THEY STATED I NEEDED A NEW STEERING RACK. THEY ASKED FOR ~$1500 TO REPLACE THE STEERING RACK (I DECLINED). I RESEARCHED RECALLS ON THE 2011 FORD FUSION AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR STEERING FAILURE. UNFORTUNATELY, MY VEHICLE'S VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL.
