FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS NOTIFIED ME THAT THE VEHICLE HAS A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM WHERE THE INFLATOR MAY RUPTURE RESULTING IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. AS THIS STATEMENT INDICATES THE DEFECT CAN CAUSE LIFE THREATENING INJURIES THIS DEFECT MAKES THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE AS IT PUTS THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AT RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH DUE TO THIS KNOWN SAFETY DEFECT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE STATE THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART TO MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS TO CORRECT THE SERIOUS LIFE SAFETY DEFECT WITH THE VEHICLE AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PARTS. THIS IS A KNOW LIFE THREATENING SAFETY DEFECT THAT PLACES THE OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE AT RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN PLACING FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THE NHTSA CRIMINALLY LIABLE OF ANY INJURIES AND DEATHS THAT MAY OCCUR DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE IN REMOVING THOSE VEHICLES FROM THE ROADS AND PROVIDING THE OWNERS A SAFE ALTERNATIVE UNTIL THE MANUFACTURERS CAN PRODUCE THE PARTS AND MAKE THE NECESSARY REPAIRS TO CORRECT THE SERIOUS LIFE THREATENING SAFETY DEFECT IN THESE VEHICLES.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO WAIT UNTIL THE NOTICE WAS RECEIVED, BUT PROVIDED NO SPECIFIC TIMEFRAME. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED WITHOUT WARNING AND THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO OPERATE. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
WE PURCHASED A CAR FROM MILLER USED CARS 4477. VESTAL PARKWAY, VESTAL NY. 2012 FORD FUSION, 30,000 MILES, GOT IT HOME AND STARTED TO LOOK IT OVER. I REALIZED THE TIRES ON THE REAR OF THE CAR WE'RE SEVERELY DRY ROTTED AND THE DATE ON THEM WERE FROM 2011. I CONTACTED THE SERVICE MANAGER JOSH AND HE TRIED TO SELL ME TIRES. HE TOLD ME THEY DON'T REJECT TIRES FOR DRY ROTTED SIDEWALLS. I WAS DONE DEALING WITH THEM AT THIS POINT AND I WANT THEM EXPOSED. THIS CAR WAS UNSAFE.
POWER STEERING FAILED *WHILE DRIVING* VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREA. ACCORDING TO FORD SERVICE, THIS WAS PARTIALLY DUE TO THE RECALLED SENSOR FOR POWER STEERING (ACTION 15N01). HOWEVER, THERE WAS ALSO PHYSICAL STEERING GEAR BINDING. THERE ARE NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS WITH SIMILAR REMEDY (ABOUT $2,000 TO REPLACE ENTIRELY). THE PHYSICAL ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED IN THE FORD RECALL (FSA TITLE: EPAS STEERING EFFORTS), BUT IS HAPPENING WITH SUFFICIENT FREQUENCY TO OTHER VEHICLES TO CONCLUDE THAT THIS POSES A CREDIBLE SAFETY RISK.
I was driving in North Miami Beach, Florida when I suddenly felt something change in the car. At the same time, I noticed a warning light turned on. I decided to stop to see what was going on. At the time is when I noticed the steering wheel went stiff. Invoked up what the warning light meant and it was for the power steering. I took the car in to the mechanic to change the rack and pinion. This fixed the problem, but six months later the problem was back. From then on the steering wheel is stiff. It is dangerous to drive this way so I took it to Ford to get fixed, but I was quoted $2,500 with only a 2 year warranty. I have read online from other Ford Fusion drivers the issue usually reoccurs even when fixed. There is a recall for my model vehicle for power steering, but Ford told me my particular VIN does not fall under the recall even though it fits the model and year description of the recall.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ODOR WAS LIKE BURNING OIL. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS EVIDENCE OF AN OIL LEAK, BUT COULD NOT LOCATE ITS ORIGIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,900.
TAKATA RECALL FORD HAS SENT TWO NOTICES DATING BACK TO MARCH 2017 TELLING ME TO CONTACT MY DEALER AUTONATION MARGATE FL FOR REPAIR AND EVERY TIME I CONTACT THEM THEY TELL ME THE PARTS AREN'T AVAILABLE. I AM AFRAID TO RIDE IN THIS CAR AND DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET THIS ACCOMPLISHED. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FORD.
TAKATA RECALL, RECEIVED LETTER REGARDING RECALL IN MARCH 2017 AND TO DATE FORD IS SAYING THEY HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY PARTS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG AND HOW DANGEROUS IS THIS WHEN I HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED TO ADDRESS PART AVAILABILITY AND THE MANUFACTURER FIELD SERVICE CAMPAIGN. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL MARCH 2017. CONTACTED WORLD FORD PENSACOLA IN MAY 2017, JULY 2017 AND SEPTEMBER 2017. I AM ALWAYS TOLD THAT I HAVE BEEN PLACED ON A WAITING LIST. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS RECALL, DUE TO BEING IN HIGH HUMIDITY AREA AND HAVING A TAKATA AIR BAG.
TAKATA RECALL. RECEIVED NOTICE THAT AIRBAG WAS UNDER RECALL. DROPPED BY FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS NOTIFIED THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE A DATE AS TO WHEN THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG WILL BE BACK IN STOCK. MY SON IS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE DAILY TO COLLEGE AND I AM WORRIED THAT THE AIRBAG WILL DEPLOY UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE HE'S DRIVING.

I HAVE RECEIVED NO SUCH NOTIFICATION. TODAY, APPROX. ONE YEAR AFTER THE RECALL DATE, I CHECKED THIS SITE AND LEARNED THAT THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE, AND NOW TAKATA HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. YET I'M LEFT DRIVING A VEHICLE THAT IS APPARENTLY UNSAFE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

THE NOTICE STATES THAT THE AIRBAG COULD RUPTURE IN AN ACCIDENT AND MAY CAUSE METAL FRAGMENTS TO STRIKE PASSENGERS RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY FURTHER COMMUNICATION ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE. I JUST CALLED FORD TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET THIS FIXED, AND THEY SAID THEY STILL DON'T HAVE THE PARTS. SO I'VE BEEN DRIVING MYSELF AND MY CHILD AROUND IN A CAR THAT COULD KILL US IN AN ACCIDENT FOR A WHOLE YEAR, WITH NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

THEY LISTED ALL THE POSSIBLE DANGERS IF NOT REPLACED IN A TIMELY MANNER; YET I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. I HAVE CONTACTED DEALERS ON MY OWN BUT THEY HAVE NO REPLACEMENT PART IN STOCK. MY DAUGHTER DRIVES THIS CAR A LOT, AND I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE LONGER WE DELAY THE MORE LIKELY AN ACCIDENT CAN OCCUR. IS THERE ANY OTHER AVENUE FOR REPLACEMENT??

TAKATA RECALL - 2012 FORD FUSION; I RECEIVED A LETTER IN MARCH 2017 REGARDING THE SAFETY ISSUE AND THE NEED TO REPLACE MY PASSENGER AIRBAG. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER, GRAND LEDGE FORD, SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR AND AM CONTINUALLY TOLD THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND I WILL RECEIVE ANOTHER LETTER WHEN IT IS. A YEAR IS AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WAIT ON A PART TO RECTIFY SUCH A SAFETY HAZARD. WHAT IS THE RESOLUTION FOR THIS MATTER?

TAKATA RECALL SINCE AT LEAST 2016, FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS NOTIFIED ME ABOUT THE TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND THE NUMBERS FOR FORD CORPORATE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND HAVE BEEN INFORMED THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT IN. I HAVE A SON WITH SPECIAL NEEDS, AND AM IN CHARGE OF ALL TRANSPORTATION FOR HIM AND HIS STAFF. I DO NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING WITH SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, AND THUS, THE LACK OF THIS PART HAS SEVERELY NEGATIVELY IMPACTED MY SON'S QUALITY OF LIFE AND INCONVENIENCED SCHEDULING TREMENDOUSLY. I LOVE MY CAR COMPLETELY, BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS RECALLED PART.

THAT IS MY ONLY CAR I OWN TOLD THE DEALERSHIP THAT SO HE SAID KEEP CALLING TO SEE IF THE PART IS IN NOTHING YET HAS BEEN DONE.
TAKATA RECALL LETTER WAS ORIGINALLY RECEIVED ON MARCH 2017 SO I CONTACTED MY FORD DEALERSHIP IN FRESNO AND I WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT IN AND THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THEY WERE IN. I CALLED FORD A FEW TIMES AFTER THAT AND I WAS STILL TOLD THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT IN. I THEN RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD IN MAY 2018 STATING THAT THE PARTS FOR THE AIRBAG WERE STILL NOT IN AND THAT THEY WOULD NOTIFY ME WHEN THEY CAME IN. AS OF TODAY, OCTOBER 30, 2018, I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM FORD REGARDING THE PARTS. IN THE MEANTIME, MY LIFE AND OTHERS WHO ARE PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE COULD BE IN GREAT DANGER OF I WERE IN AN ACCIDENT. THESE PARTS SHOULD HAVE COME IN A LONG TIME AGO WHEN I RECEIVED THE 1ST RECALL NOTICE. IT IS NOW A YEAR AND A HALF LATER AND STILL NO PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
OWNER RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF AN AIRBAG RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE DATED MARCH, 2017. AGO.SINCE THEN NO PARTS HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE LATEST NOTICE IS DATED OCTOBER 2018 THAT STATE IN BOLD LETTERS "PARTS AR NOW AVAILABLE TO REPAIR YOU VEHICLE; HOWEVER, YOU DEALER WILL NEED TO ORDER PARTS FOR YOUR VEHICLE PRIOR TO AN APPOINTMENT:" MY DEALER ATTEMPTED TO ORDER THE PARTS BUT WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT CAN BE DONE TO FORCE FORD TO PROVIDE THE PARTS FOR THIS REPAIRS. THIS HAS TAKEN FAR TOO LONG AND LIVES ARE AT STAKE HERE.
SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING OUR 2012 FORD FUSION & PICKING UP OUR 9YR OLD DAUGHTER FROM SCHOOL ONE DAY, I FOUND MYSELF IN A SCARY SITUATION JUST A FEW YARDS FROM MY DRIVEWAY. WITH OUR NEIGHBORHOOD BEING A TURN OFF OF A 4-LANE HIGHWAY, WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE THAT TURN THAT DAY, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT RESULTING IN IT BEING VERY DIFFICULT TO MANUVER THE TURN LANDING MY DAUGHTER & I OFF THE ROAD & IN THE DITCH AFTER GETTING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY FOUND THE PROBLEM RESULTED FROM A RECALL ON THE VEHICLE THAT NEEDED REPAIRING HOWEVER, THE DEALERSHIP ALSO DISCOVERED THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED WHEN OWNED BY PREVIOUS OWNER. THE RECALL PERFORMED BEFORE HAD FAILED & WAS NOT A SOLUTION AS THE REPAIR NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED AGAIN. THE PROBLEM WAS, WHEN THE DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED ME ABOUT THE RECALL, I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF THE RECALL BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER SAID WHEN THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED THE FIRST TIME, A 90 DAY WARRANTY WAS PLACED ON THE RECALL THAT IF IT NEEDED PERFORMING AGAIN, I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST. MY CONFUSION IS, IF THERE IS A RECALL ON THE CAR BECAUSE OF A SAFETY ISSUE DISCOVERED & YOU'RE NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL & TO BRING IT IN TO BE REPAIRED... SHOULDN'T THAT REPAIR ALSO BE A SOLUTION & IF SO, WHY IS THERE A WARRANTY PLACED ON THE SOLUTION? MY UNDERSTANDING, A SOLUTION HAD NOT BEEN FOUND, RESULTING IN THE MANUFACTURER KNOWING BEFORE THE RECALL WOULD NEED TO BE PERFORMED AGAIN AND AGAIN COSTING THEM A GREAT LOSS. AT THE TIME, I COULD NOT AFFORD THE LARGE LUMP SUM COST OF THE RECALL WORK & WITH THE CAR NOT DRIVABLE, NEEDING A VEHICLE DAILY FOR TRAVELING TO & FROM MY JOB 60 MILES, OBTAINING A DRIVABLE CAR ALSO OBTAINED ANOTHER MONTHLY PAYMENT & AFTER OBTAINING THAT DRIVABLE CAR, I FOUND MYSELF NOT BEING TO AFFORD BOTH CAR PAYMENTS RESULTING IN THE ONE NOT DRIVABLE OBVIOUSLY TO BE REPOSSESSED & US SUED.

I JUST HIT 40,000 MILES, VEHICLE HAS BECOME VERY UNSAFE, WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. ACCELERATION TAKE TOO LONG AND ONCE IT KICKS IN IT SLAMS INTO GEAR. IF I NEED TO REVERSE IT WON'T FIND THE GEAR AND WHEN IT DOES , I SLAMS INTO GEAR, THE WRENCH CONTINUES TO APPEAR ON DASH WHEN SAID EVENT IS HAPPENING. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THAT TRANSMISSION OR ENGINE. VERY UNSAFE. WHEN VEHICLE STALLS IT BECOMES A HAZARD TO EVERYONE AROUND ME. IF SOMEONE COULD PLEASE CONTACT ME THIS WOULD BE GREAT. UPON SEARCHING WHAT THE PROBLEM COULD BE I NOTICED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. PLEASE HELP! I DON'T HAVE ANY PHOTOS OF THE VEHICLE SHUTTING DOWN AND WHAT A HAZARD IT CAN BE . TELL ME WHAT TO DO PLEASE.
DRIVING 70 MPH ON FREEWAY AND POWER STEERING FAILURE LIGHT WENT ON AND IMMEDIATELY LOST POWER STEERING. WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DRIVE THE CAR BUT WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR OFF THE FREEWAY WITH NO ONE BEING INJURED. CALLED FORD AND WAS TOLD OUR 2012 FORD FUSION SEL WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL THE FOR THIS KNOWN DEFECT. WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL!!!
TAKATA RECALL - FORD HAS SENT LETTER OF RECALL IN FEBRUARY OF 2017. THEY HAVE ORDERED REPLACEMENT PARTS AND THAT IS WHERE IT STANDS AS OF OCTOBER 20, 2017 . FORD HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO SUPPALY PARTS TO MY FORD DEALER IN DADE CITY FLORIDA. I HAVE HAD NO VEHICLE MALFUNCTION ONLY WAITING TO GET THE RECALL FIXED. IT IS THE AIR BAG ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ONLY I HAVE BEEN INFORMED.
