OVERHEATING AND APPARENTLY THE FORD DEALERSHIP DONT KNOW WHAT'S REALLY WRONG BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ABOUT 5 OR 6 TIMES IN THE LAST TWO YEARS. I'VE CHANGED HEAD GASKETS, SPARKS PLUGS, COOLANT RESERVOIR, AND HAD A BRAND NEW HEAD PUT ON AND THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME I NEW A NEW BLOCK.
2013 FORD FUSION WITH 90K MILES, MULTIPLE RECALLS FOR COOLANT SYSTEM, DEALER NOW SAYING ENGINE MUST BE REPLACED. WARRANTY SERVICE ON 12/06/18 FOR NEW COOLANT SENSOR, AND HAD BYPASS T-ASSEMBLY REPLACED ($312 CHARGE). OVERHEATING WITH COOLANT LEAKAGE AND OIL LEAKAGE, RETURN TO DEALER ON 7/23/19. ASSESSMENT IS THE ENGINE NEEDED REPLACEMENT, OVERHEATING CAUSED CRACKED CYLINDER AND COOLANT IS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE.

The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed the evap purge valve needed to be replaced. A dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 15V793000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN and the vehicle year was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V362000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IT DROVE GOOD. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINS OF DRIVING IT THE LOW COOLANT LIGHT CAME ON WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. WE TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE COOLANT SENSOR SO WE REPLACED IT. AFTER IT WAS REPLACED THE SAME SITUATION HAPPENED AND THEY SAID THE CYLINDER HEAD MAY BE CRACKED. THE CAR HASN'T RAN OUT OF WATER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IT WAS AN INACCURATE TEMPERATURE GAUGE READING. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE WEEKS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLANT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FAILED PARTS ON THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOING) AND THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED HE PARKED AT A NEARBY PARKING LOT, THEN DEPRESS BUTTON TO OPEN THE HOOD AND SAW FIRE EXITING THE HOOD. THE CONTACT CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE POLICE WAS CONTACTED BUT NOT REPORTS WERE FILED. THE CONTACT STATED NO ONE WAS INJURED OR SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN IMPOUND LOT. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED AS OF YET. ADDITIONALLY, THE EVAP AND STABILITY CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE ALSO ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER SON HAD INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE COOLANT LEVEL WAS BELOW THE MINIMUM MARK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 98,000.

A FEW YEARS AGO THERE WAS A RECALL OF FORD 2013 FUSION DUE TO DOOR LATCHES FAILING. MY LOCAL DEALER TOLD ME THAT THEY PERFORMED THE WARRANTY REPAIRS. A FEW MONTHS AGO THE RIGHT REAR DOOR ON MY CAR WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT SINCE THE REPAIR HAD BEEN MADE THERE WAS NO WARRANTY COVERAGE. I DISSEMBLED THE DOOR MYSELF AND LOCATED THE DEFECTIVE PART. WHILE RESEARCHING THE PART I DISCOVERED NHTSA RECALL 20V-177. THE YEAR OF MY CAR WAS NOT LISTED IN THE RECALL BUT THE PART NUMBER OF THE DEFECTIVE PART WAS. I HAVE ATTACHED THE RECALL INFORMATION AS WELL AS A PHOTO OF THE DEFECTIVE PART FROM MY VEHICLE. THERE ARE TWO POSSIBLE SCENARIOS. THE DEFECTIVE PART WAS ACTUALLY NEVER REPLACE BY THE DEALER, OR, THE PART USED TO REPLACE THE ORIGINAL DEFECTIVE PART IS DEFECTIVE AS WELL. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LATCH BROKE DOOR WON'T CLOSE COUNTY ROAD WHEN IT HAPPENED

POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 70 MPH. *TR
MAKING A RIGHT TURN INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR FLEW OPEN STRIKING A FENCE. NOW IT WILL NOT SHUT AT ALL.? *TR
ONE OF MY DOORS WOULDN'T SHUT. THE DOOR LATCH WAS STUCK. TOOK TO GARAGE AND THEY FIXED BY PULLING HANDLE AND GETTING MECHANIC TO GO BACK IN. I HEARD THERE MAY BE A RECALL ON THESE LATCHES. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. *TR

There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed and repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V551000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 86,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and shifting to first gear, the vehicle started jerking and shuddering. The contact stated that the failure increased in intensity whenever he shifted into a higher gear. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The contact was able to continue to drive the vehicle at slower speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the PCM was reset and the transmission oil was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact also stated that the failure would occur whenever the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact stated that the vehicle was leaking gasoline and was taken to an independent mechanic who replaced the fuel injectors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 125,000.
I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2018. FORD COMPLETED THE 17S09 RECALL IN AUGUST 2018, WHICH WAS RELATED TO COOLANT SYSTEM ISSUE CAUSING THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT. THE DAY AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR IN DECEMBER 2018, THE CAR OVERHEATED AND BROKE DOWN. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED (HENNESSY FORD IN ATLANTA, GA) TOWED IT BACK AND "REPAIRED" THE ISSUE AGAIN. I'VE CONTINUED TO RECEIVE ERROR MESSAGES ABOUT THE ENGINE COOLANT FOR THE DURATION OF MY TIME IN THE VEHICLE. LAST WEEK ON 6/12/20 I DROVE MY CAR HALF A MILE AND IT BROKE DOWN AGAIN BECAUSE THE ENGINE OVERHEATED. I HAD IT TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE COOLANT SYSTEM ISSUE UNDER THE FORD 17S09 RECALL. BECAUSE IT'S BEEN 12 MONTHS SINCE THE REPAIR, FORD IS REFUSING TO FIX THE CAR UNDER THE WARRANTY OF THE RECALL REPAIR PERFORMED IN 2018. AND NOW I AM BEING TOLD THAT IT NEEDS A COMPLETELY NEW ENGINE AT THE TUNE OF $7,000. *TR
I WAS MOVING MY CAR INTO PARK AS I WAS PULLING INTO MY PARKING SPOT AND THE CAR WENT INTO PARK WITH THE FLOOR SHIFT AND ON THE DASHBOARD BUT THE CAR WAS STILL IN REVERSE. THE FLOOR SHIRT WAS STUCK AND THE CAR WAS ROLLING BACKWARDS SO I PUT THE PARKING BREAK ON. WHEN LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD I NOTICED THE BUSHING THAT ATTACHES THE SHIFTER CABLE TO THE TRANSMISSION WAS DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. THE BUSHING APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN DEGRADED TO THE POINT WHERE IT COULD NOT REATTACH SO I LEFT THE PARKING BREAK ON AND WILL NEED TO TOW THE CAR. I LOOKED IT UP AND BASED ON MY CAR'S MANUFACTURED PLANT, TIMING, AND MODEL THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS BUT WHEN I SEARCH MY VIN IT IS NOT COMING UP SO I AM WONDERING IF THIS WAS MISSED. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V331000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
MY VEHICLE HAD THE DOOR LATCH RECALL COMPLETED IN 2015. SINCE THE RECALL WAS COMPLETED I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT DRIVER, FRONT PASSENGER, AND REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCHES. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS WERE NO BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL AND FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH AND CAUSES A SAFETY HAZARD BY NOT LATCHING CLOSED WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF PROBLEM HAPPENS 12 MONTHS AFTER RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED. ANY REPAIRS HAS TO BE AT MY EXPENSE AND DIAGNOSTIC HAS TO BE PAID BY ME BECAUSE IT IS A LABOR CHARGE. SO I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR DIAGNOSTIC PLUS TO REPAIR PART BECAUSE OVER 12 MONTHS AGO RECALL REPLACEMENT WAS COMPLETED. REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE DOING THE SAME THING AS ORIGINAL PART WAS. *TR

AN UNKNOW DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE HORN STARTED TO HONK INDEPENDENTLY. THE DRIVER ATTEMPTED TO CLOSED THE DOOR HOWEVER, THE DOOR FAILED TO LATCH SECURELY. THE CONTACT USED A ROPE AND SECURED THE DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SPRADLEY BARR FORD LINCOLN GREELEY (4901 W 29TH ST, GREELEY, CO 80634), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE FOR THE DOOR LATCHES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED UNDER AN UNKNOWN RECALL HOWEVER, THE RECALL REPAIR FAILED TO STOP THE FAILURE FROM OCCURRING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS A ONE-TIME FREE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 101,000.
WIPER MOTORS STOPPED WORKING OUT OF NOWHERE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO FORD AND THEY SIMPLY WANT ME TO PAY TO REPLACE THEM. I COULD NOT AFFORD AT THE TIME AND TOLD THEM TO HOLD OFF ON THE REPAIR. THEY DID SOMETHING FOR FREE THAT CAUSED THEM TO WORK FOR ANOTHER MONTH BUT ARE NOT WORKING AGAIN. FORD REFUSES TO INVESTIGATE THIS, AND SEES IT AS MY OWN PERSONAL PROBLEM. I SEE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO.

THERE WAS NOTHING IMPEDING THE DOOR TO CLOSE, IT SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. THE INITIAL ISSUE HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY, BUT WILL FLY OPEN WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION, ESPECIALLY WHEN TURNING. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic and the valve body, the computer system, and the transmission were replaced. A FORD TECH LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE AND ALSO COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A DAILY OCCURRENCE.
WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT ON THE VEHICLE. IT IS BELIEVED TO BE RELATED TO AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE THAT SHUTS DOWN ALL WINDOWS, AC/HEAT, BLINKERS, GAUGES AND RADIO. SEVERAL MODULES, INCLUDING THE POWER STEERING MODULE WERE REPLACED BY OUR MECHANIC AND IT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE. A FORD TECH LOOKED AT THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE EITHER. WE HAVE NOT HAD POWER STEERING FOR APPROX 2 MONTHS. THE OTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUES OCCUR DAILY.

THE BOLT HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE COLUMN LOOSENED UP CAUSING THE WHEEL TO BECOME LOOSE AND WOBBLE CAUSING PLAY IN THE STEERING. IT LOOSENED GRADUALLY OVER TIME.
WHEN GOING DOWN A HILL WHETHER YOU ARE USING CRUISE CONTROL OR NOT, THE CAR WILL DOWNSHIFT REALLY HARD, ONCE, TWICE AND SOMETIMES THREE TIMES BEFORE YOU GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT STARTED IN APRIL OF 2020. THE BACKUP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING AND IT WAS COMPLETELY REPLACED AND IT STILL DOES NOT WORK.

(13655 E WADE HAMPTON BLVD, GREER, SC 29651) AND THEY PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THEY ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED NO RECALLS AND NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
