POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO JERK AND WHITE SMOKE WOULD COME OUT FROM THE REAR. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS ODOR OF COOLANT BURNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JIM TIDWELL FORD, 2205 BARRETT LAKES BLVD, KENNESAW, GA 30144, AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE. THE TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDED THE CONTACT WAS TO REPLACE THE ENGINE LONG BLOCK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 161,916.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RACK AND PINION AND STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN REPAIRED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V232000 (STEERING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 75,586. *BF*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE LOW COOLANT LEVEL AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS TWO-THIRDS FULL. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS LIKE THE FAILURE REFERENCED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,710.
GOT IN CAR TO START AND DRIVE TO WORK. DASHBOARD LIT UP WITH WARNINGS ON STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE, FORWARD ANTICOLLISION SYSTEM FAILURE AND ANTISKID SYSTEM FAILURE. VEHICLE HAS LOST POWER STEERING AND UNABLE TO DRIVE.
ENGINE COOLANT LEAKING BUT NO LEAK CAN BE FOUND. HAVE TO PUT COOLANT IN CAR EVERY OTHER DAY OR ANY TIME I DRIVE MORE THAN 30 MILES.
THE HOOD LATCH ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION BROKE AND WOULD FUNCTION CORRECTLY. THIS IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED. I REPLACED MINE AND FROM THE UPLOADED PICTURES YOU CAN SEE THAT THE PART WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. THE PLASTIC BUMP (CIRCLED IN RED) THAT THE LEVER GRABS ON TO WEARS OUT OVER TIME, AND WHEN LIFTED, WILL NOT OPEN THE HOOD CORRECTLY . IT'S ALSO NOT FAIR THAT THE PARTS NEEDED HAVE TO BE PURCHASED SEPARATELY, COST CUTTING AT ITS FINEST .
WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT A SLOWER SPEED AROUND TURNS GOING UPHILL THE POWER STEERING ASSIST CONTROL LIGHT FLASHES ON AND THEN BACK OFF. IT HAS DONE THIS AT LEAST 5 TIMES
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE COOLANT LEVEL WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CONFIRMED THAT THE COOLANT LEVEL WAS LOW, AND TOPPED OFF THE FLUID TO THE RECOMMENDED LEVEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER TO BE INSPECTED HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC FAILED TO LOCATE A COOLANT LEAK. THE ISSUE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS ALSO LOCATE AN AREA WHERE THERE WAS A COOLANT LEAK. THE MECHANIC PERFORMED A PRESSURE TEST AND FOUND THE LOCATION OF THE COOLANT LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,844.
THE DASH LIT UP NOTIFYING OF A PARKING BRAKE ERROR WHILE DRIVING. GOT HOME, PARKED CAR, TURNED CAR OFF. WENT INSIDE FOR ABOUT TWO MINUTES. WHEN CAME BACK OUTSIDE, THERE WAS SMOKE ROLLING OUT OF THE WINDOW. PUT FIRE OUT. AFTER EXAMINING, THE FIRE APPEARED TO HAVE STARTED FROM SOMETHING ELECTRICAL IN THE CENTER COUNSEL ON THE RIGHT SIDE. IT CAUGHT THE SEAT ON FIRE, MELTED THE COUNSEL, AND THE ROOF. NO SMOKING OF ANY SORT HAS BEEN ALLOWED IN MY CAR SINCE I GOT IT. IT WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE FIRE STARTED, BUT IT WAS IMMEDIATELY AFTER BEING DRIVEN.*DT*JB
I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND I HEARD A LOUD SOUND FOLLOW BY OIL PRESSURE LOST I PULL OVER AT A GAS STATION AND NOTICE THAT ALL MY OIL WAS PORING OUT OUT MY VEHICLE .I THAN CAR FOR A TOW TRUCK TO HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED ..WHY DIS MY VEHICLE DO THAT.I DID NOT MAKE IT TO WORK ...I HAD TO CALL OFF WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT.THIS SITUATION COST ME MY JOB DUE TO CAR FAILURE..IT HAPPENED ON CITY STREET LEADING TO HIGH WAY.
MY VEHICLE WAS SERVICED FOR A WIDE SPREAD FAULTY DOOR LATCH RECALL IN 2016 AND WAS REINSPECTED AGAIN THIS YEAR FOR THE ANOTHER DOOR LATCH RECALL. NOW MY PASSENGER FRONT DOOR LATCH IS FAULTY CAUSING MY DOOR TO NOT CLOSE AT ALL. THE CUTTER FORD DEALER ON OAHU IS TELLING ME EVEN THOUGH MY DOOR LATCH IS FAULTY, IT'S NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL AND I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TO BE REPLACED. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE? AFTER HAVING MY DOOR LATCHES REPLACED FOUR YEARS AGO DUE TO A RECALL, THEY ARE NOW FAULTY AGAIN FOUR YEARS LATER. DOES ANOTHER RECALL NEED TO BE ISSUED TO REPLACE THE DOOR LATCHES USED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AND CORRECTED BY THE FORD DEALER FREE OF CHARGE.*DT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED.*JB
WHILE DRIVING I SMELLED A FAINT WHIFF OF GASOLINE, MOMENTS LATER THE CAR BEGAN FILLING UP WITH SMOKE THAT SPILLED IN THROUGH THE HEATER VENTS. THERE WAS ALSO SMOKE THAT WAS COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. MY HUSBAND & I JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR TO RUN TO SAFETY AND I SAW FIRE UNDER THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. ONCE THE FIRE FIGHTERS ARRIVED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE WE WERE TOLD IT LOOKS LIKE THE ENGINE HAD CAUGHT ON FIRE.
SHIFTER LINKAGE BUSHING FAILED, CAUSING THE CAR TO BECOME STUCK IN REVERSE. A SHORT SEARCH REVEALED THAT THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL OUT FOR THIS VERY THING, EXCEPT MY VIN "DOESN'T HAVE THIS ISSUE"
FUEL FILL INLET LIGHT ON. VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AFTER SECOND GEAR.
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING POORLY LOW GEARS, REVERSE, STUCK IN LOW GEARS, LOUD NOISEY SHIFTING, BURNING ODOR, CANNOT INCREASE SPEED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE ENGINE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE COASTED TO A STOP AND THE CONTACT REFILLED THE COOLANT LEVEL TO LET THE VEHICLE COOL DOWN BEFORE CONTINUING TO DRIVE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WESTFIELD FORD (6200 SOUTH LA GRANGE ROAD, COUNTRYSIDE, IL 60525; (708) 354-8600) WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE ENGINE COOLANT WAS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
Defective Ford engine and engine cooling recalls have been issued for select models (i.e., recalls 12S41; 17S09;) for cars with 1.6 liter engines due to issues associated with low coolant levels in which a recall was issued in 2017 requiring Ford to install new coolant level sensors and the associated hardware and software in order to prevent engine overheating and catastrophic failure. While the recall was not issued for the 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Titanium Hybrid 2.0 liter engines, the problems identified with the 1.6 liter engines also characterize many of the 2.0 liter engines, including the one that I drive. My Ford has had 18 recalls, and during 2020 the engine light came on 4 different times between February and October of 2020 in which I brought the vehicle to Serramonte Ford service center to determine the reason. Ford did routine inspections and recall work in each visit, but it was not until the final time that the engine light came on that the tech looked inside the engine to discover leaking oil that Ford's service staff informed me I would require a new engine. Ford suggests replacing the defective engine with a rebuilt engine rather than breaking down and diagnosing the cause of the oil in the engine block, according to Ford due to the relatively cheaper cost to me (Ford did not make the diagnosis until after the car was out of warranty) of installing a rebuilt engine rather than tearing down the existing engine to diagnose and repair. I suspect that the 2.0 liter engine has the exact same issues as the 1.6 and should have been included in the 2017 recall, when I could have had the coolant level sensor installed while the car remained under the manufacturer's warranty. The car is at risk of a catastrophic fire now if I drive it off of the service center's lot, where it has been since November 2020. 12S41 and 17S09 recalls should be offered to the 2.0 liter engine models as well, before more people die.
GEAR SHIFT CABLE DISCONNECTED, CAUSING INABILITY TO MOVE CAR. NO POWER TO ACCELERATOR REGARDLESS OF GEAR POSITION (COULD NOT GO FORWARD OR REVERSE). VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN DRIVEWAY, AND HAD JUST COMPLETED A 30 MINUTE DRIVE.
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, DRIVING AT SPEEDS OVER 60MPH FOR MORE THAN 50 MILES, CAUSES A SYSTEM ALERT THAT SAYS STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. THE FIRST TIME I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER BEFORE THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE NEXT TIME, MY BOYFRIEND WAS DRIVING AND HE HAD TO VEER ONTO THE SHOULDER. MOST RECENTLY, MY GRANDMOTHER DROVE MY CAR TO THE AIRPORT AND WAS UNABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OUT OF TRAFFIC TURNING INTO THE AIRPORT AS SHE WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO MANEUVER THE CAR INTO THE PARKING LOT. I REGULARLY KEEP UP WITH ALL NECESSARY MAINTENANCE AND HAVE BROUGHT THE CAR TO MODICA BROTHERS AS WELL AS A LOCAL MECHANIC AND THEY HAVE BOTH TOLD ME IT IS BOLT CORROSION AS THEY ASSESSED ALL OTHER POSSIBILITIES. UPON RESEARCH, I FOUND A RECALL FOR FORD FUSIONS MANUFACTURED IN HERMOSILLO IN 2013 UNDER RECALL #19S26. I CONTACTED FORD ABOUT HAVING MY CAR ADDED TO THE RECALL AND WAS ADVISED TO REACH OUT TO NHTSA. AS THIS IS A BIG SAFETY HAZARD, I WISH TO HAVE THIS ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.
MY VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON , SCANNED IT AND THE CODE GENERATED WAS P1450 WHICH IS THE UNABLE TO BLEED UP FUEL TANK VACUUM. THIS HAS HAD A AFFECT ON MY CAR WHILE DRIVING IT HAS STALLED AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE HIGHWAY, AND HAS STALLED AT LOWER SPEEDS AS WELL AND MAKING A TURN . IT MAKES A LOUD VACUUM NOISE AND YOU CAN HEAR THE WHINING OR WHISTLING OF THE PUMP OR HOSE NEAR THE FUEL TANK UNDER THE DRIVER DOOR AND UNDER THE HOOD . I LOOKED UP SIMILAR INFO ON THE FORD RECALL SITE AND SEEN THIS RECALL # 18S32 . SO I CALLED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND THE INFORMED ME THAT IT DON'T COVER MY FORD VEHICLE , BUT THERE'S A RECALL FOR THIS , SO I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING WHY IT DON'T APPLY TO MY VEHICLE.
REAR SEATS GET STUCK WHEN LOWERED DOWN AND WILL NOT RELEASE TO RETURN BACK UP. TO BE SPECIFIC, THE LEFT BACKSEAT AND CENTER SEAT (AS THEY ARE ATTACHED) ARE THE ISSUE.
PREVIOUSLY HAD ENGINE REPLACED BY LOCAL FORD DEALER DUE TO RECALL OF COOLANT SYSTEM CAUSING OVERHEAT OF THE ENGINE. LESS THAN 2 YEARS FROM TIME OF REPLACEMENT THE ENGINE FAILED FOR THE EXACT SAME REASON THE ORIGINAL RECALL WORK WAS DONE. AM BEING TOLD THAT THIS REPAIR WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OF ORIGINAL WORK OR RECALL.
THE BACKUP CAMERA ON MY FUSION HAS BEEN FAILING TO FUNCTION PROPERLY THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY AS WELL AS ON THE HIGHWAY. WHEN IN REVERSE THE SCREEN GOES BLACK OR HAS MULTIPLE SQUIGGLY LINES GOING ACROSS THEN AN ERROR THAT CAMERAS IS NOT AVAILABLE WHEN I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE THE CAMERA WILL SOMETIMES APPEAR AND SHOW WHAT'S BEHIND THE CAR, HOWEVER, WHEN PLACED BACK INTO REVERSE I GET THE SAME ERROR I WAS ON VACATION IN FL AND RENTED A BRAND NEW 2020 FORD AND THE CAMERA MALFUNCTIONED THE SAME WAY WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY I ATTEMPTED ONLINE RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT ITS NOT ONLY THE FUSION BUT MANY FORD VEHICLES WITH THE CAMERA BACK UP MALFUNCTION
SHIFT LINKAGE CAME OFF
I HAD A RECAL DONE FOR MY POWER STEERING IN 2015 BY A FORD DEALERSHIP. I WAS TOLD THE REPAIRS WERE HONORED FOR LIFE. HOWEVER, LAST FRIDAY 09/04/20 I WAS DRIVING MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN AND MY DASHBOARD ALERTED ME TO KNOW I HAD LOST POWER STEERING AND TO CONTACT MY DEALER. MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND HAD I NOT STOPPED IMMEDIATELY I COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND POTENTIALLY LOST MY LIFE. ONCE STOPPED THE ICON FOR POWER STEERING FAILURE REMAINED. I LOST CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE AND IMMEDIATELY SLAMMED ON MY BRAKES TO AVOID GETTING T BONED IN A BUSY INTERSECTION. I HAD A FAMILY FRIEND TOW MY CAR TO MY HOME. I CALLED FORD CORPORATE THEY STATED THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE RECALL REPAIR. I ASKED FOR A SUPERVISOR TO CALL. NO SUPERVISOR HAS CALLED. I CAN NOT DRVE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE WITHOUT POWER STEERING IT IS ALL BUT IMPOSSIBLE TO SAFELY STEER AND TURN.
LONG STANDING ISSUE WITH FORD FUSION, AND IT'S ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. RECENTLY I'VE DISCOVERED A PLUG STUCK IN CYLINDER 4, A MISFIRE, AND MY ENGINE IS LOSING COOLANT WITHOUT ANY EXTERIOR & VISIBLE LOSS AREAS. IT WAS 'REPAIRED' FROM THE RECALL WHEN ONLY A SENSOR WAS ADDED AND NO ACTUAL REPAIR WAS DONE TO PREVENT COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. CYL 4 HAS A MISFIRE, COOLANT IS NEEDING TO BE REFILLED CONSTANTLY, CAR IS NOW OVERHEATING, AND THIS IS AFTER I'VE DONE ALL THE PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE IN ADDITION TO FORDS 'RECALL FIX' 17S09 THAT FIXED ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. ANY TIME THAT I DRIVE IT NOW, NO MATTER WHAT SPEED, ANY LONGER THAN 10 MIN, MY 'LOW COOLANT' WARNING COMES ON FROM THE ENGINE BURNING COOLANT OFF. I'VE HAD TO COMPLETELY SHUT MY ENTIRE CAR OFF, WAIT FOR ENGINE TO COOL OFF, AND HAVE BEEN LEFT STRANDED A FEW TIMES NOW. VERY FRUSTRATING CONSIDERING I'VE MAINTAINED THIS VEHICLE EXCEPTIONALLY SINCE I'VE OWNED IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE LEFT WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. WHILE RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT BUT MUCH HARDER. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS MORE NOTICEABLE WHILE DRIVING AT SLOWER SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER HAGEN FORD LOCATED AT 3980 NORTH EUCLID AVE, BAY CITY MI 48706 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
SEAT BELT LOCKS WHEN FOLDING DOWN REAR SEAT BACK MAKING THE SEAT AND SEATBELT UNUSABLE. THIS OCCURS WHEN STATIONARY AND ALSO WHEN IN MOTION. AND, IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME.
I NOTICED THIS ISSUE A FEW DIFFERENT TIMES AND THOUGHT NOTHING MAJOR OF IT, BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON MY TRANSMISSION WOULD CONTINUE TO PROPEL THE VEHICLE FORWARD REGARDLESS OF THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL AND ALSO NOTICED THE VEHICLE WOULD OFTEN TIMES CONTINUE TO ACCELERATE AND FAIL TO ENGINE BRAKE AFTER MY FOOT HAD LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR. THE LATTER OF WHICH I WAS MORE CONCERNED ABOUT AND WAS GOING TO HAVE A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT NEXT TIME I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO GET SERVICED. HOWEVER, BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO DO THAT I WAS INVOLVED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT THAT TOTALED THE VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING IN A RURAL AREA AND APPROACHED A SET OF TRAIN TRACKS. I WENT TO SLOW DOWN TO CROSS THE TRACKS VIA ENGINE BRAKING, BUT THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. I ATTEMPTED TO USE THE BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN BEFORE I REACHED THE TRACKS, BUT THE DELAYED RESPONSE AND THE GRAVEL ON THE ROADWAY PROVED NO AVAIL AT SLOWING THE VEHICLE AND I HIT THE TRACKS GOING MUCH FASTER THAN I WOULD HAVE LIKED, AROUND 40 MILES PER HOUR. THE ROUGHNESS OF THE TRACKS CAUSED MY FRONT AXLE TO SNAP, YANKING ME TO THE RIGHT OFF THE ROADWAY, THROUGH SOMEONE'S YARD AND INTO SOME TIMBER. WHAT I THOUGHT WAS ALSO CONCERNING WAS THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AT ALL DURING THE ACCIDENT.
THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND IT ONLY HAS 76,000 MILES ON IT.
MY 2013 FORD FUSION IS EXPERIENCING POWER STEERING LOSS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED STEERING LOSS AT START UP, ON THE ROAD DRIVING, MID-TURNING, AND WHEN I HIT A SMALL BUMP OR ROCKY SURFACE. THE MESSAGES THAT APPEAR INCLUDE 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAK'. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE AMONG FORDS WITH ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING AND WAS QUOTED $2000 TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE STEERING COLUMN. AFTER SENDING MY VEHICLE IN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP 8+ TIMES, I FINALLY GAVE UP AND REQUESTED FOR A REFUND. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT FORD RECALLED A NUMBER OF VEHICLES INCLUDING THE SAME NAME AND MODEL AS MY 2013 FORD FUSION, HOWEVER MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I THINK FORD MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO EXPAND THEIR RECALL REGIONS TO INCLUDE ALL THOSE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SAME ISSUE. MY VEHICLE IS TOO YOUNG AND DOES NOT HAVE MORE THAN 105,000 MILES TO BE EXPERIENCING THIS TYPE OF ISSUE.

SHIFTER CABLE CAME OFF AT TRANSMISSION LINKAGE. (CABLE BUSHING BROKE). WAS PARKING AND WHEN SHIFTED INTO PARK GEAR SHIFT FELT LIKE IT MOVED FREELY. TURNED OFF CAR TOOK FOOT OFF BRAKE AND CAR ROLLED. APPLIED BRAKE AND TRIED TO START CAR. CAR WOULD NOT START. GEAR SHIFT WAS IN PARK POSITION AND WOULD NOT MOVE. DASH INDICATOR SHOWED CAR WAS IN DRIVE. APPLIED PARKING BRAKE . AFTER ASKING MECHANIC ABOUT ISSUE I LOOKED AT SHIFTER CABLE AT LINKAGE AND IT WAS DETACHED. BUSHING WAS GONE.
THIS PAST SUNDAY OUR SON DROVE OUR FUSION LESS THAN 1.5 MILES TO CHURCH, PARKED IT AND WENT INSIDE. AROUND 5 MINUTES LATER, SOMEONE SAW SMOKE COMING OUT OF IT. THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT CAUGHT ON FIRE. THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN DRIVEN BEFORE THAT SINCE THURSDAY EVENING. THE CAR HAD THE RECALL WORK DONE OVER 2 YEARS EARLIER WHEN WE PURCHASED IT FOR THE COOLANT ISSUE SUSPECTED OF ENGINE FIRES. THE CAR HAD NO OTHER ISSUES AND HAD IT'S STATE INSPECTION A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AGO. OUR INSURANCE COMPANY HAS DECIDED NOT TO CONDUCT AN INVESTIGATION AS TO THE CAUSE. WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON WEEKLY, I HAD THE LOCAL FORD GARAGE LOOK AT MY CAR WHILE IN FOR ANOTHER RECALL. THEY INFORMED ME IT WAS A CYLINDER 3 MISFIRE AND WAS LOSING ANTIFREEZE. THEY SAID THE ENGINE WOULD NEED REPLACED. MY CAR HAD UNDER 50K MILES AT THAT TIME.
VEHICLE SHIFT WAS MOVED TO PARK, BUT TRANSMISSION STAYED IN REVERSE AND ROLLED ALMOST HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. THERE IS SUPPOSED TO BE A RECALL FOR THIS, 19V362, BUT MY VEHICLE'S VIN NUMBER IS NOT LISTED?? FORD WILL NOT REPLACE OR FIX UNTIL MY VIN IS LISTED. THE CAR IS NOT DRIVEABLE AND IS UNSAFE!
CAR HAD A COOLANT LEAK MOTOR STARTED TO RUN HOT, DON'T KNOW IF IT'S FROM A RECALL, GOT IT REPAIRED AT THE DEALER WHERE I GOT THE CAR FROM, TOLD THEM BOUT THE DEFECT/RECALL AND WAS CHARGED $819. REAR SEAT BELT GETS STUCK WHEN FOLDING SEAT DOWN CAUSING IT NOT TO FOLD BACK UP.

PAID $1200.00 TO REPAIR AND STILL HAVE A HARD CLUNK WHEN I STEER LEFT OR RIGHT. CURRENTLY DRIVING AND HEARD NOISE FROM FUEL TANK AND DETERMINED A CANISTER PURGE VALVE MALFUNCTION. SAW THERE MAY BE A RECALL BUT ALSO HAVEN'T FOUND IT FOR MY CAR. CAN YOU UPDATE ME ON POSSIBLE RECALLS IF ANY APPLY?
IISSUE 1) PUT THE BACK SEAT DOWN TO GET INTO TRUNK AND IT WONT GO BACK UP DUE TO THE SEAT BELTS ISSUE. BECAUSE I DONT REALLY USE THE BACK SEAT, I HAVENT BOTHERED TO GET IT FIXED AND PAY FOR IT OUT OF MY POCKET. 2) DRIVING OVER 55 MPH, CAR LOST POWER STEERING. ABOUT A YEAR AFTER OWNING THE VEHICLE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. IT STARTED AS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM AND TURNED INTO THEM NOT WORKING AT ALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED AFTER THE DEALER WARRANTY RAN OUT SO NATURALLY THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT THE ISSUE. THEY WORK SOMEWHAT NOW AGAIN, BUT ONE WIPER IS HALFWAY UP MY WINDSHIELD AND THE OTHER KEEPS BREAKING OF ASSUMING BECUASE THEY ARE OUT OF SYNC WITH EACH OTHER. SO I HAVE ONE WIPER THAT IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE THAT SORT OF WORKS AND THIS VEHICLE I AM STILL PAYING ON, SO IT SUCKS BECAUSE I CANNOT DRIVE IT AND IT WON'T PASS INSPECTION DUE TO THIS. COOLANT HOSE LEAKING CAUSE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT QUICKER , ALSO AT SOME POINT BEGAN TO SMOKE , I HAD TO REPEATEDLY PUT WATER AND COOLANT THAT THIS IS ALSO AN AC ISSUE WHICH FORD HAS HAD A RECALL PROBLEM ON BEFORE AND ANOTHER ISSUE WAS THE FLUID (COOLANT) LEAKING NEAR THE ENGINE , I WASN'T ABLE TO AND WAS AFRAID TO USE MY AC DUE TO THE FEAR OF IT OVERHEATING QUICKER , WAS A COMPLETE MESS AND FORD REFUSED TO HELP ME WITH IT BECAUSE THE SAME MODE OF MY CAR HAD GOTTEN THE RECALL, BUT NOT MY CAR VIN, ABSOLUTELY INSANE AND INFURIATING TO ME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PREVIOUSLY PERFORMED. THE CONTACT WAS PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
SHIFTED GEAR TO PARK, ON THE DASHBOARD IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL YET THE GEAR WAS IN PARK. COULD NOT MOVE THE SHIFT HANDLE, IT WAS LOCKED IN PLACE. TOWED CAR TO DEALERSHIP. THEY REPORTED THE BRUSHINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS ISSUE IS SIMILAR TO A RECALL PLACED ON OTHER FORD FUSIONS WITH THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL. THE RECALL # IS 19S16. FORD CORPORATION SAID THE RECALL DID NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE THEY INITIATED A RECALL FOR THE OTHER FORD FUSIONS FROM TWO SPECIFIC PLANTS.
