CONSTANTLY GETTING A MESSAGE ON DASH "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". OCCASIONALLY A MESSAGE ABOUT TRANSMISSION COMES UP BUT TOO QUICK TO READ. SEE THAT FORD HAS DONE A RECALL ON BOTH OF THESE ITEMS BUT HAVEN'T ACTUALLY ISSUED IT YET. MY VIN IS NOT SHOWING AS ONE AFFECTED DESPITE GETTING THESE MESSAGES. I AM HEARING SOME SORT OF NOISE THAT WE CAN NOT IDENTIFY AND WORRY IT IS SOMETHING WITH EITHER ONE OF THESE ISSUES. HARD TO DESCRIBE THE NOISE BUT REPLACED BRAKES AND ROTORS THINKING IT COULD BE THAT BUT THE NOISE IS STILL THERE. WORRIED THIS COULD CAUSE A ACCIDENT. NOT SURE WHY FORD DOES A RECALL BUT DOESN'T SEND IT OUT WHEN IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM. USUALLY HEAR THE NOISE WHILE SLOWING. MESSAGE ON DASH IS RANDOM BUT ALWAYS WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. DOESN'T STAY ON LONG AND HAPPENS AT LEAST 1-2 A WEEK. STARTED BACK IN DECEMBER 2019
POWER STEERING FAILURE WARNING CAME ON AND LOST POWER STEERING. CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE WARNING CAME ON.
ON 02DEC2019 WHILE DRIVING DURING A LIGHT SNOW, WIPERS ON A 2013 FUSION SE AT 43,595 MILES FAILED TO OPERATE, LH WIPER STAYED VERTICAL, RH WIPER RETURNED TO PARK IN HORIZONTAL POSITION. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JAMES FORD IN WILLIAMSON NY WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS LH WIPER MOTOR FAILURE. REPAIRS WERE MADE AT A COST OF $550.93.
I WAS IN REVERSE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROADWAY WHEN MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE ANYMORE. THE GEAR SHIFT HAD DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS LUCKY THERE WAS A TOW TRUCK MECHANIC WHO WAS ABLE TO RECONNECT IT AND MOVE MY CAR TO SAFETY. IT HAS DONE THIS A COUPLE MORE TIMES SINCE BUT IT IS NOW NO LONGER DRIVEABLE. IN REGARDS TO THE FUEL THE CAR MAKES A RUMBLING NOISE FROM THE GAS LINE, AND MAKES THE CAR FILL WITH THE SMELL OF FUEL. WHEN I PUT THE GAS NOZZLE INTO THE CAR A BUBBLE SOUND AND AIR PIERCES OUT.

"STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED" I HAVE A 2013 FORD FUSION AND THIS LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE LOST ANY AND ALL POWER TO MY STEERING. I CAN STILL DRIVE IT, BUT IT IS VERY HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL IN ANY DIRECTION UNLESS I GIVE IT GAS. I CALLED FORD TO SEE IF THIS WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY NEEDED TO LOOK AT IT BEFORE THEY CAN TELL IF THERE WERE ANY RECALLS. THEY ALSO CHARGED ME $150 AND THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT IT NEEDED $4396. HALF OF THAT AMOUNT WAS TO REPLACE THE RACK & PINION. THEY NEVER EVEN TOLD ME IF THERE WERE OTHER RECALLS. AFTER DOING EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, I HAVE SEEN MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE "STEERING ASSIST FAULT". I AM 20 YEARS OLD AND I AM IN THE NAVY STATIONED IN NORFOLK, VA. I BOUGHT THE CAR IN MICHIGAN SO IT HAS SEEN WINTERS AND SALT FROM THE ROADS. IS THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I TOOK MY CAR TO TRYING TO GET OUT OF TAKING CARE OF THE RECALL? I CALLED MY MOTHER IN LAWS MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT HE COULD GET ALL THE PARTS FOR ME HIMSELF FOR LESS THEN $800. BUT I HAVE A $4300 BILL?? I AM ON MILITARY PAY, I DON'T HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY!
WHILE DRIVING AT 30 MPH LIGHT CAME ON THAT ENGINE COOLANT IS OVERTEMPERTURE. HAD TO SHUT DOWN THE CAR AS I WAS LOOSING POWER. CONTACTED FORD AND TOLD THEM THAT EXACTLY WHAT IS IN THE 2012 RECALL OF THE ENGINE OVERHEATING IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME. THEY SAID AT THIS TIME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO.
THIS VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO BRONDES FORD IN MAUMEE OHIO SEVERAL TIMES TO REPORT THE COOLANT LEVEL DROPPING. DEALER COULD NEVER FIND ANYTHING WRONG. ON 5/9/17 VEHICLE WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND DEALER MARKED COOLANT LEVEL WAS FINE, DID NOT ADD ANY. BROUGHT VEHICLE BACK ON 5/13/17 REPORTING COOLANT LOW. BACK IN 11/6/17 FOR LOW COOLANT. DEALER FOUND NOTHING WRONG AND TOPPED OFF. 2/9/18 - DEALER PERFORMS RECALL 17S09 VEHICLE BROUGHT BACK AGAIN AS COOLANT IS DROPPING. - DEALER FINDS SMALL LEAK IN O-RING AND REPAIRS. 11/24/19 - I OPEN THE HOOD TO FIND THE COOLANT BOTTLE COMPLETELY EMPTY WITH NO WARNING MESSAGE, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, NOTHING. THIS WAS THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THIS RECALL TO PREVENT OVERHEATING AND FIRES WHICH IS SHOWN AS COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE ON THIS VEHICLE. I REQUEST INTERVENTION BY NHTSA AS THE FIX PROPSED BY THIS RECALL IS SHOWN AS NOT WORKING.*DT THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER FOUND THAT THE LOW COOLANT AND THE CHECK ENGINE MESSAGE WERE TURNED OFF. THE WERE UNAWARE OF WHY OR HOW THE MESSAGES WERE TURNED OFF.*JS
THE VEHICLE DISPLAYED A WARNING MESSAGE "STEERING LOSS STOP SAFETY". THE STEERING WAS NOT WORKING AT THE TIME AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT DO. THE STEERING WHEEL IS VERY HARD TO TURN IT AROUND. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
STARTED MY CAR (2013 FORD FUSION 37,691 MILES) YESTERDAY MORNING AND HAD A "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MESSAGE ON MY DISPLAY. . POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE. LUCKILY I WAS STILL IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT ON THE ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I'VE HAD NO PROBLEMS PREVIOUSLY WITH POWER STEERING. APPARENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2013 FUSIONS FOR POWER STEERING FAILURES. I CALLED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THAT RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC, AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED. I FOUND A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE ON LOW MILEAGE 2013 FUSIONS THAT WERE NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL. OBVIOUSLY THEY DID NOT IDENTIFY ALL OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID. AFTER AN ALIGNMENT WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE AND THE VEHICLE SHOOK WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. WHEN THE CONTACT SLOWED DOWN, HE HEARD A LOUD HUMMING NOISE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BARTOW FORD (LOCATED AT 2800 US-98, BARTOW, FL 33830, (800) 301-8570) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.
THE POWER STEERING LIGHT WAS COMING ON AND THEN GOING OFF WITHIN SECONDS ON THE EVENING OF 11-15-19 AND THE MORNING OF 11-16-19 WE GET IN THE CAR TO START OUR DAY AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP. WE HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE STEERING GEAR HAS FAILED AND NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY REPLACED. I AUTHORIZED THE WORK TO BE DONE AND IT WAS COMPLETED ON 11-19-19 BUT MY PROBLEM IS THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE IN ALL STATES THAT GET SNOW AND ICE BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS CAUSED BY THE SALT USED TO TREAT THE ROADS BUT FOR SOME REASON THE STATE OF VIRGINIA IS NOT LISTED. WE HAVE ALSO SEEN THIS LIGHT FLASH ON AND BACK OFF THIS MORNING 11-29-19 AND THIS IS AFTER WE HAVE PAID $2133.48 FOR THE REPAIR OF THIS PROBLEM, SO THE REPLACEMENT WAS DONE WRONG OR THE PARTS ARE NOT GOOD THIS IS A VERY SCARY SITUATION AT ANYTIME BUT MORE SO NOW THAT WE ARE GOING INTO THE WINTER SEASON.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CODES INDICATED A TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ISSUE. ONLINE RESEARCHING REVEALED THIS TO BE A FREQUENT ISSUE WITH MT VEHICLE TYPE. PROBLEM CONSISTANTLY OCCURS WHEN TRANSMISSION KICKS INTO PASSING GEAR OR ON PROLONGED TRIPS (30 MINUTES TO AND 1 HOUR OF DRIVING TIME) USING CRUISE CONTROL. THIS BEGAN OCCURRING AROUND NOVEMBER 15TH AND STILL OCCURS IF I DRIVE MORE THAN 30 MINUTES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT RESETS AFTER THE CAR SITS UNUSED FOR A DAY OR TWO.

RECENTLY, I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY ELECTRICAL SYSTEM/ACCELERATION. I HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING MY MAX A/C LIGHT TO STAY ON AND SOMETIMES MY RADIO DISPLAY IS DELAYED OF COMING ON. ALSO, SOMETIMES WHEN I START MY CAR, THE DINGING SOUNDS DISTORTED LIKE MY BATTERY IS ABOUT TO DIE AND I HAVE A HARD TIME STARTING THE CAR. I STARTED TO THINK MY BATTERY WAS GOING BAD BUT THEN ONE DAY I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD (IN MOTION), MY CAR WAS STILL RUNNING AND NO WARNING LIGHTS DISPLAYED, BUT I LOST ALL ACCELERATION. I HAD TO LIMP MY CAR TO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT AS I COULD NOT GET ANY GAS POWER. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND IMMEDIATELY TURNED IT BACK ON AND IT WORKED JUST FINE. THEN A COUPLE WEEKS LATER IT DID THE SAME THING. I AGAIN HAD TO SHUT IT OFF, RESTART, AND IT WORKED FINE. I HAVE NOT HAD THAT ISSUE SINCE THEN BUT IT IS STILL WORRISOME. LUCKILY I WAS NOT PUT IN DANGER ESPECIALLY SINCE MY 6 YO SON WAS WITH ME. I WOULD HATE TO THINK OF THE OUTCOME IF THIS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE OR SOMEWHERE WHEN I COULD NOT EASILY PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS?
CYLINDER HEAD LEAKED OIL CAUSE FIRE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, "ADD ENGINE COOLANT" DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO ITS DESTINATION AND PARKED FOR EIGHT HOURS. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, "ENGINE TEMPERATURE, OVERHEATED" WAS DISPLAYED. THE CONTACT STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, CHECKED THE RESERVOIRS, AND ADDED COOLANT. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING COOLANT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
THE CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT ENOUGH WARNING OR TIME THAT WOULD NORMALLY BE REQUIRED TO BRING IT TO A SAFE STOP. LUCKILY I MANAGED TO AVOID A CATASTROPHE ON THIS OCCASION. SUBSEQUENTLY, WHILE I WAS WAITING FOR A TOW, I MANAGED TO GET THE ENGINE STARTED. BUT THE STALL REOCCURED A FEW MINUTES LATER (THIS TIME I WAS WISER AND HAD MOVED OVER TO SURFACE STREETS). THIS ON-OFF PATTERN WOULD REPEAT ITSELF SEVERAL TIMES. I NEVER DROVE IT ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN, AFTER THE FIRST OCCURRENCE. FOR THE SAKE OF SAFETY, I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS.
I WAS MERGING ON TO THE INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WHEN I GOT A CHIME AND ALERT ON MY DASH BOARD STATING "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE". WHEN THIS HAPPENED, MY POWER STEERING FAILED AND IT WAS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN MY VEHICLE. I MANAGED TO FIGHT MY VEHICLE OFF OF THE HIGHWAY ONTO THE SHOULDER. UPON RESTARTING MY VEHICLE THE MESSAGE WENT AWAY AND I REGAINED POWER STEERING. AFTER RESEARCHING, THERE IS A RECALL OUT FOR THIS POWER STEERING ISSUE, ON THE EXACT SAME YEAR MAKE AND MODEL OF MY VEHICLE, HOWEVER FORD IS TRYING TO CLAIM MY VEHICLE ISN'T COVERED BY IT. IT IS OBVIOUS THEY HAVE MISSED MY VIN NUMBER ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS, AS THIS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. THIS IS DANGEROUS, AND COULD HAVE KILLED ME AND MY FAMILY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE, AND WANT MY VEHICLE REPAIRED OF THIS RECALL.

THE CONTACT CALLED AN UNKNOWN DEALER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE POWER STEERING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 138,088.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD, WHICH STARTED OUT LIGHT COLORED AND THEN BECAME VERY DARK. THE CONTACT NOTICED FLAMES UNDER THE HOOD AND QUICKLY COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT EXITED THE VEHICLE AS IT BURST INTO FLAMES AND BURNED TO THE GROUND. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILED A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS STILL AT THE SCENE. THE CONTACT CALLED WORLD FORD PENSACOLA (6397 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505, (850) 476-9050) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE DEALER STATED THAT AN APPOINTMENT WOULD BE SCHEDULED AND THEY WOULD CALL HER BACK; HOWEVER, THEY NEVER DID. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS24690899. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY FORD FUSION AND PRESSING THE GAS WHEN IT JUST CAME TO A STOP. IT WAS LIKE GAS WAS NOT GETTING TO THE ENGINE.

STEERIN FAILED: WHEN DRIVING STREERING WHEN OUT NO POWER STEERING COST TO REPLACE RACK AND PIOION $3100.00. THIS CAR IS VERY UNSAFE WITH THIS PROBLEM MY SON WAS LUCKY HE WAS GOING SLOW WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

AFTER REPAIRING THE DOORS LATCHES IN MARCH OF 2016 FOR NHTSA RECALL 15V-246, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH ON OCTOBER 18, 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME IN A PARKING LOT. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM THAT INITIATED THE RECALL OBVIOUSLY THE REPLACED PART DURING THE RECALL IS ALSO DEFECTIVE. TOOK IT IN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT REPLACED FOR A COST OF $347. I HAVE AN INVOICE FROM THE DEALER AT HAND. THE INVOICE IS FOR "REPLACE THE CABLE FOR LATCH AND HANDLE DUE TO BREAKING AND NOT ALLOWING PROPER MOVEMENT." THE PART IS A CABLE ASSEMBLY AND THE FORD PART NUMBER IS DS7Z 54221A00 B
FREQUENTLY, WHEN DRIVING AND THE CAR HAS TO IDLE- IN TRAFFIC, AT STOP LIGHTS, ETC.- THE ENGINE WILL STUTTER AND SHUT OFF. THIS WILL HAPPEN REPEATEDLY UNTIL THE ENGINE IS DRIVEN AT AN INCREASED SPEED.

THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND, WITHIN SECONDS, BECAME ENGULFED IN FLAMES. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A FIRE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTALED AND TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE CONTACT CALLED A PLUS AUTO SALES AT 513-759-5470 (LOCATED AT 9253 CINCINNATI COLUMBUS RD, WEST CHESTER, OH 45069) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 16V875000 (SEAT BELTS) AND 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE GEAR SHIFT ON THE VEHICLE HAS BROKEN TWICE I'VE HAD IT TEMPORARILY FIXED TO HOLD IT OVER. BUT IT'S DANGEROUS FOR IS SAYING THEY DON'T HAVE A RECALL ON MY MODEL BUT THE RECALL THEY HAVE ON THE GEAR SHIFTS FITS EXACTLY WHAT I'M GOING THRU.
WHILE DRIVING A WARNING MESSAGE CAME UP ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING STEERING FAULT SERVICE NOW. THE STEERING SEEMED FINE FOR A FEW MILES DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, BUT AS I SLOWED DOWN AND GOT CLOSER TO HOME, THE STEERING POWER DETERIORATED. AS I WAS TURNING INTO MY DRIVEWAY IT ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL IS COMPLETELY LOCKED. THE ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASH NOW SAYS "STEERING LOSS STOP SAFETY". UPON CALLING FORD AND CHECKING THE VIN # AT NHTSA IS LOOKS LIKE THIS IS NOT PART OF AN ACTIVE RECALL, HOWEVER CARS EXACTLY LIKE MINE ARE PART OF RECALL 19S26. I AM NOT SURE WHY MY CAR IS NOT PART OF IT AS IT MATCHES THE MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR PURCHASED AND I LIVE IN PITTSBURGH PA WHERE WE USE SALT TO TREAT ICY/SNOWY ROADS. WHY ISNT MY VIN PART OF THE RECALL?

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V362000 (POWER TRAIN) PRIOR TO THE FAILURE. THE NOTICE STATED "CONTINUE TO SAFELY DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE IF YOU APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE BEFORE REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION". THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,637.
DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR LATCH SUDDENLY FAILED WHILE DRIVING AT APPROMATELY 40MILES PER HOUR. DOOR AJAR WARNING LIT UP IN THE CONSOLE. PULLED OVER TO TRY TO CLOSE THE DOOR BUT THE LATCH HAD FAILED ENTIRELY. HAD TO SECURE DOOR WITH SEAT BELT AND DRIVE SLOWLY HOME WILL DROP IT OFF AT DEALERSHIP BECAUSE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPT WAS CLOSED AT TIME OF INCIDENT.
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH AND THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED ON IT'S OWN AND I CAN NOT GET IT TO SHUT NOW. WHEN THE DOOR OPENED I GRABBED FOR IT AND IT SWUNG BACK AND SMACKED MY ARM AND HAND AND THEY ARE SWOLLEN BRUISED AND SORE. THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR LIGHT UP AND THE DINGING STARTED TO ALERT ME THE DOOR WAS OPEN. WENT TO A NEAR BY FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT LISTED ON THE RECALL. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE WHOLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. ONE EVENING I PUT MY CAR IN DRIVE TO LEAVE A PARKING GARAGE AND IT WOULD GO IN REVERSE WHILE IN DRIVE (REVERSE CAMERA IS ON THE WHOLE TIME) AND WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE IT WOULD DRIVE IN REVERSE. SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC, TRACTION CONTROL, ABS, AND STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHTS ALL COME ON RANDOMLY AND IT BECOMES EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER. WHEN THIS IS GOING ON, THE LANE KEEPING SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK AND THE TURN SIGNAL NEEDS SHUT OFF AFTER EVERY TURN. HAVING NO POWER STEERING AND TRYING TO TURN OFF YOUR TURN SIGNAL WHILE DRIVING IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. THESE LIGHTS RANDOMLY COME ON AND GO BACK OFF. I LIVE IN PA, IF THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS IN SNOW I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND WAIT FOR THE STEERING TO BE BACK TO NORMAL OR RISK MY LIFE GETTING HOME. FORD HAS NOT INCLUDED MY VIN IN A RECALL THAT COULD BE THE CAUSE OF THE ISSUES. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES NOW FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM.
WAS HAVING A SLOW COOLANT LEAK INTO THE ENGINE. WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT IT WAS POTENTIALLY A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IT WAS NOT A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD BUT A WARPED ENGINE BLOCKED AFTER ONLY 130K MILES AND 6 YEARS. CAR HAS BEEN IN SHOP FOR NEARLY TWO WEEKS WHILE WE TRY TO DECIDE WHAT WE NEED TO DO.
MY CAR SHUTS DOWN WHEN DRIVING . THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS I HAD A CLOSE CALL ON MY LIFE THIS MORE WHEN A CAR ALMOST REAR ENDED ME WHEN THE SHUTDOWN TOOK PLACE.

AFTER DRIVING MY VEHICLE AND I GOT OUT, I SMELLED GASOLINE. I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR AND ALL AROUND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND COULD NOT SEE ANY LEAKS. I USED A FLASHLIGHT AND A MIRROR BUT DID NOT REMOVE ANY PANELS. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS JUST FUMES, BUT THE GASOLINE SMELL WAS JUST AS STRONG AFTER I DROVE THE CAR THE NEXT TIME. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE UNDER BODY FUEL LINES JUST FORWARD OF THE FUEL TANK WERE RUSTED THROUGH AND LEAKING. THERE IS A RETAINING CLIP THAT SECURES THE LINE AND THAT IS WHERE THE LINE WAS RUSTED. THERE WAS NEVER EVIDENCE OF A FUEL LEAK OTHER THAN THE SMELL, BECAUSE THE SPLASH GUARD THAT GOES UNDER THE FUEL LINE WAS PREVENTING THE LEAK FROM MAKING IT TO THE GROUND. I COULD NOT SMELL THE GASOLINE WHILE DRIVING, ONLY AFTER EXITING THE CAR.

DRIVER DOOR LATCH, WHICH WAS REPLACED UNDER RECALL 15S16 IN FEB 2016 AT 57K MILES, FAILED TO LATCH IN OCT 2019 AT 108K MILES. DEALER VERIFIED THAT THE BROKEN LATCH THEY REMOVED WAS ONE OF THE UPGRADED PARTS. DOOR LATCH WORKED FINE THE NIGHT BEFORE BUT FAILED IN THE MORNING WHEN I WENT TO CLOSE MY DOOR AND THE DOOR BOUNCED OPEN AGAIN. CAR WAS NOT IN MOTION OR EVEN STARTED YET WHEN THE REPLACEMENT LATCH FAILED. CAR IS GARAGED, NO ADVERSE WEATHER THAT DAY OR THE PREVIOUS NIGHT. ON 9/30/2019, AFTER LOADING MY 4 YEAR OLD INTO A BOOSTER SEAT ADJACENT THE DRIVER'S-SIDE REAR DOOR, I CLOSED THE DOOR AND, AS I PULLED OUT OF A PARKING SPACE THE DRIVER'S-SIDE REAR DOOR SLOWLY OPENED UP. I REACHED BACK TO CLOSE IT AGAIN AND IT JUST BOUNCED CLOSED AND THEN OPEN AGAIN. FINDING A PLACE TO PARK, I EXAMINED THE LATCH, WHICH WOULD NOT CATCH AT ALL WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. I HAD TO USE ROPES AND BUNGEE CORDS TO SECURE THE DOOR TO GET HOME AND MY 4 YEAR OLD HAD TO RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT SINCE I COULDN'T RISK HIM BEING IN THE BACK WITH A DOOR THAT WASN'T SECURE. TODAY, 10/1/2019, I CONTACTED FORD LEGACY IN MCDONOUGH GA AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT WHILE THERE WAS A RECALL OUT FOR 2013 FUSION FOR LATCH FAILURES, MY VEHICLE WASN'T SUBJECT TO THE RECALL AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $250 FOR THE REPAIR, WHICH IS BEING PERFORMED NOW.*DT*JB

PARKED MY VEHICLE TODAY AND IT WAS PERFECTLY FINE. WHEN I CAME BACK OUT A COUPLE HOURS LATER I STARTED IT AND IMMEDIATELY I GOT TWO WARNING MESSAGES ON MY CAR STATING TWO OF MY ASSISTED FEATURES WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND MY POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE. STARTED DOING RESEARCH INTO THIS ISSUE BY CALLING MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THEY COULD GET ME IN AND THEY SAID THEY COULDNT TODAY AND TO CALL BACK THE NEXT DAY AND TRY THEN. STARTED LOOKING ONLINE IN OTHER FORUMS AND RESEARCH INTO RECALLS AND NOTICED A RECALL HAS BEEN PUT OUT FOR POWER STEERING MALFUNCTIONING BUT MY VEHICLE WASNT LISTED IN THE RECALL BY VIN NUMBER. BUT YEAR MAKE AND MODEL ALL MATCHED. CALLED MY DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY SAID SINCE MY VIN DOESNT MATCH ON THE RECALL LIST THEY WONT LOOK AT IT THAT WAY. DROVE MY VEHICLE HOME WITH NO POWER STEERING AND RAN A COUPLE TESTS MYSELF, I FOUND OUT MY POWER STEERING IS ELECTRONIC. HOOKING UP MY DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND NO CODES WERE FOUND. UNHOOKED MY BATTERY FOR A LITTLE BIT TO TRY AND RESET THE WARNINGS THAT WERE ON AND THAT DIDN'T HELP, I DID A CHECK ON MY VEHICLE TO MAKE SURE ALL OF THE BASICS WERE GOOD, TIRE PRESSURE, FUSES, ANYTHING ELSE THAT COULD BE POTENTIALLY WRONG AND EVERYTHING ELSE CHECKS OUT. NO OTHER WARNINGS ARE ON IN MY VEHICLE OTHER THAN THE TWO ABOUT MY ASSISTED STEERING AND I CANT RECALL THE SECOND ONE.
DOOR LATCH RECALL WAS PERFORMED JUST OVER A YEAR AGO. APPROX 14 MONTHS. (15S16) DOOR LATCHES HAVE A PAWL SPRING TAB THAT MAY BREAK. THIS CONDITION WILL TYPICALLY PREVENT THE DOOR FROM LATCHING. IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS WHERE THE DOOR IS ABLE TO BE CLOSED, THE DOOR MAY UNLATCH WHILE DRIVING, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. SERVICE ACTION DEALERS ARE TO REPLACE ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES. THIS SERVICE MUST BE PERFORMED ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES AT NO CHARGE TO THE VEHICLE OWNER. HOWEVER THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT SHUT LAST WEEK. THIS OCCURRED AFTER THE RECALL HAS BEEN CLOSED OUT. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER WHICH THEN I WAS QUOTED THE PARTS AND LABOR OF THE JOB. I CONTACTED FORD RELATIONS STATING THIS STILL FALLS UNDER THE DESCRIPTION OF 15S16 HOWEVER THEY CANNOT REOPEN THE RECALL ONCE IT HAS BEEN CLOSED. THE RECALL 15S16 IS POINTLESS IF THE REPLACEMENT PART ISN'T GOING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
