TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE MADE A SCRAPING NOISE. THE NOISE INTENSIFIED EVERY TIME THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE "MOVE TO SAFETY" INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.
GAS IS LEAKING FROM THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. FIRST NOTICED A GAS SMELL FROM THE AIR VENTS SO I INITIALLY THOUGHT A LEAKING INJECTOR, HOWEVER WHEN I LOOKED UNDER THE CAR IT WAS CLEARLY LEAKING GAS FROM SOMEWHERE. I DID SOME MINOR RESEARCH AND SAW THAT THIS YEAR HAS SEVERAL RECALLS FOR LEAKING FUEL SYSTEMS HOWEVER I CAN'T FIND A RECALL FOR THIS UNDER THIS PARTICULAR VIN.
THE CAR STOPS, A LIGHT TURN ON THAT SAID "STOP SAFETY KNOW " YOU TURN ON THE CAR AND IT STAYS ON FOR 10 SECONDS AND TURNS OFF AGAIN
WHILE DRIVING ON THE BELTWAY, THE CAR ACCELERATED THEN STARTED SLOW DOWN. I MERGED OFF OF THE BELTWAY AND ONTO A RAMP TO GET SOMEWHERE SAFE. AT THE RAMP THE CAR LIGHT OF THE AIR BAG CAME ON THEN, THE CAR CAME TO A STOP, AND ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON. AND THE HOOD OF THE CAR WAS SMOKING. I LIFTED THE HOOD AND SAW THE FIRE UNDER THE ENGINE. WE MOVED AWAY FROM THE CAR AND LUCKILY A MAN IN A WORK TRUCK SAW US AND HAD A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND PUT THE FIRE OUT. THE CAR IS WITH THE DEALER BUT, NOTHING HAS BEEN COMPLETED AT THIS TIME. THE CAR HAS BEEN WITH THEM SINCE 5/3/17.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH LANES, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE BOECKMAN FORD DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER OPENED CASE NUMBER: CAS12394818FAZ7W0 AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. I HAD A DIAGNOSIS AND IT IS RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE PROBLEM IS THE BYPASS VALVE. I TOOK IT TO THE SUNNYVALE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A RECALL AND THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT. WHEN I CALLED THEM AND SET THE APPOINTMENT, THEY SAID THEY HAD THE PARTS IN STOCK BUT WHEN I GOT THERE, I WAITED TWO HOURS AND THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS. THEY JUST CHECKED THE COOLANT PRESSURE. NOW I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE THE ENGINE MIGHT SET ON FIRE. WHEN I DRIVE I NOTICE THE TEMPERATURE OF THE VEHICLE FLUCTUATING UP AND DOWN OVERHEATING WHEN I GO UP HILL. PLEASE HELP. I TAKE GOOD CARE OF MY CAR AND I DO NOT WANT TO HAVE ENGINE FIRE. WHAT CAN I DO? I HAD IT LOOKED TO OTHER MECHANIC SHOPS AND THEY ARE CHARGING ME $1700 TO FIX IT. THAT'S TOO EXPENSIVE AND IT'S NOT EVEN FORD CERTIFIED. I NEED HELP WITH ADVICE ON HOW I CAN GET THE PROBLEM SOLVED. WHEN CAN THIS RECALL CAN BE SOLVED? THE FORD DEALERSHIP DO NOT HAVE ANY ANSWERS. THEY SAID THEY WILL CALL ME WHEN THEY GET THE PARTS. IT'S BEEN A WEEK AND NO CALL FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP. MY CAR IS OVERHEATING EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT ON THE FREEWAY THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON. I WENT TO PEP BOYS AND THEY TOLD ME THEY CAN'T FIX IT, I HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP IS NO HELP AT THIS POINT. ALTHOUGH I SET UP ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO ANOTHER FORD DEALERSHIP WHICH IS ANOTHER WEEK AHEAD. I'M GOING THROUGH ALL THIS TROUBLE SO I CAN GET MY CAR FIXED THE RIGHT WAY. SORRY FOR THE TROUBLE BUT I NEED HELP AND THIS MIGHT BE MY LAST RESORT.
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE AIR BAG, OR SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM. I RECEIVED THE NOTICE AND WAS TOLD TO CALL AND SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. THIS WAS MANY MONTHS AGO. CALLED TWO DEALERS IN MY AREA LAST WEEK, AND I'M STILL BEING TOLD THAT THERE ARE STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE. WE ARE WONDERING JUST HOW SAFE THIS VEHICLE IS, AS WE LET OUR SON USE THE CAR. DOES ANYONE REALLY HAVE THE PARTS. I HAVE BEEN IN FOR MANY SERVICES AT THE DEALER, AND THEY JUST SHUFFLE ME OFF. THANK YOU.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GREEN FORD (9001 EAST COLONIAL DRIVE, ORLANDO, FLORIDA 32817 (407) 515-6431) IN MAY OF 2017 TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE). THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURE AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH ATTEMPTING TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT, THE ENGINE COOLANT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THEN DIMMED. THE CONTACT CONTINUED DRIVING AND THE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AGAIN; HOWEVER, THIS TIME THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION AND EVENTUALLY STALLED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE ROAD SHOULDER TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE COOLANT IN THE RESERVOIR WAS EMPTY. AFTER ADDING COOLANT, THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE WATER PUMP MAY BE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17S090000 (ENGINE). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE BATTERY, BUT IT FAILED TO CORRECT THE NOISE. WHILE MAKING A TURN, THERE WAS A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER AND A WARNING INDICATOR RANDOMLY ILLUMINATED FOR RUN POWER AND THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE A FEW TIMES DUE TO THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN SERVICE CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14N02 TO ADDRESS THE PCM REPROGRAMMING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IN THIS CAR REGISTERS THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE AS HOT WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE ENTIRE POWER OF THE CAR WAS TURNED REDUCED, MAKING GETTING OFF THE ROAD VERY DANGEROUS. TESTING REVEALED IT WAS A FAULTY SENSOR FOR THE COOLANT. SEVERAL YEAR MODELS OF THIS SAME VEHICLE HAVE THE SAME RECALL ISSUE.
ON APRIL 23 OF THIS YEAR A COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE SENSOR KEEPS COMING ON SHUTTING DOWN MY VEHICLE I'VE HAD IT TO FOUR DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND A REPUTABLE GARAGE TRYING TO FIX THE ISSUE. THEY CANNOT FIND OUT WHY I'M LOSING COOLANT OR WHERE THE PROBLEM IS COMING FROM AND WHY MY CAR IS GETTING OVERHEATED AND OVER TEMPERATURE. I HAVE SPENT $2000 IN PARTS AND TOWING AND LABOR AND THE PROBLEM STILL IS NOT FIXED FORD IS INSISTING THAT IT'S NOT THE RECALL THAT IS OUT WITH THE COOLANT SYSTEM AT THIS TIME AND IS TRYING TO GET ME TO PUT A NEW ENGINE IN THE VEHICLE WHEN THEY'RE NOT EVEN SURE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS AND IF THAT WILL EVEN FIX IT. I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR MORE THAN 30 MINUTES AND THE TEMPERATURE STARTS TO RISE IAND SHUTS MY CAR DOWN ..I HAVE FILED 2 CASES WITH FORD AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO HELP ME.

THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL REGARDING THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELTS. THE SEAT BELTS MAY NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN OCCUPANTS DURING A CRASH. THIS HAS BEEN ON RECALL SINCE NOVEMBER 2016 WITHOUT ANY SOLUTION YET. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY RISK THAT SHOULD ALREADY HAVE HAD A FIX.
WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED ON, THE CAR FLASHES THE "CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM" MESSAGE ONCE THE CAR STARTS MOVING. WITH OK PRESSED, THE BATTERY WARNING LIGHT REMAINS ILLUMINATED. AS I DRIVE, THE VEHICLE MAY: ILLUMINATE THE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT - HAVE ALL RADIO FUNCTIONS STOP OPERATING - HAVE THE EXTERNAL TEMPERATURE GAUGE READ ABNORMAL NUMBERS - ANY OR ALL OF THE ABOVE. THE PROCESS DISAPPEARS WHEN THE CARS STOPS, AND MAY OR MAY NOT APPEAR MORE THAN ONCE IN A DAY. THE CAR DRIVES NORMALLY, AND 2 TRIPS TO THE FORD REPAIR SHOP TO REPLACE PARTS (INCLUDING THE ALTERNATOR) HAVE NOT IDENTIFIED ANY PROBLEM WITH THE BATTERY OR CHANGED THE BEHAVIOR OF THE CAR. THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOME KIND OF ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION, AND I AM NOT SURE ABOUT THE FIRE HAZARD OR SAFETY OF OPERATING A CAR WHOSE COMPUTERS SEEM TO BE MALFUNCTIONING CONSISTENTLY. I HAVE PICTURES OF MULTIPLE INCIDENTS AND 2 REPAIR INVOICES THAT ATTEMPTED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE WITH NO EFFECT.
MY 2013 FORD FUSION HAS21,000 MILES ON IT AND THE FORD PEOPLE TELL ME IT NEEDS REAR BRAKES I HAVE A2009 SAME MODEL THAT I HAD BRAKES REPLACED AT 60,000 WHEN I ASK THE FORD PEOPLE WHY I GET NO ANSWER . I THINK THEY HAVE A SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE PADS .CAN YOU HELP ME.?

THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AFTER ONLY 22,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.
VEHICLE BEGAN OVERHEATING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. VEHICLE SLOWED QUICKLY AS IT ENTERED "LIMP MODE" ON THE INTERSTATE. DRIVER WAS ABLE TO GET OFF OF INTERSTATE EXIT AND PULL TO A PARKING LOT. ENGINE BAY WAS EXTREMELY HOT AND THE FAINT SMELL OF SMOKE/BURNING WAS APPARENT. DRIVER HAD TO TOW VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS FOUND TO BE SUBJECT TO RECALL 17S09.
MY 2013 FORD FUSION HAS HAD STALLING ISSUE FOR A WHILE NOW. IVE HAD THE CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW. I COULD BE DRIVING AND THE CAR WILL JUST SPUTTER OUT WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS AT ALL. MOST OF THE TIME IT STARTS BACK UP BUT HAS TROUBLE AT TIMES AS WELL AND I I LOOSE STEERING AND BRAKES WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THERE HAS BEEN A COUPLE CLOSE CALLS DUE TO STALLING. CAR HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER 7 TIMES FOR THE STALLING THAT HAS YET TO BE RESOLVED AND 5 OTHERS TIMES FOR DIFFERENT PROBLEMS. IVE HAD THE CAR A LITTLE OVER A YEAR NOW AND ALL IT HAS BEEN IS PROBLEMS AFTER PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM. THE DEALER HAS THE CAR MORE THAN I DO. I HAVE MADE COORPORATE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND SEEM TO NOT CARE. I HAVE SHOWED THEM THE VIDEO AND THEY SAY THEY DONT KNOW WHAT COULD BE CAUSING THAT TO HAPPEN. IT ALSO HAS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH JERKING WHEN SHIFTING GEARS AND THEY TELL ME THAT IT IS SUPPOSE TO DO THAT. THATS [XXX]. THIS WILL BE THE FIRST AND LAST FORD PRODUCT I WILL EVER BUY IN MY LIFE. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE WITH COOPERATE AND THE DEALER. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF A POLICE OR FIRE REPORT WAS REPORTED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOWING YARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 79,950.
I WANT TO SELL MY CAR. THE SEATBELT RECALL DOES NOT HAVE A FIX DATE YET. I CANNOT SELL MY CAR TO A DEALER AND GET A MARKET PRICE UNTIL THE SEATBELT IS FIXED. THE DEALER IS SAYING 3RD QUARTER. THIS SEEMS LIKE TOO LONG. ALSO NOT SAFE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT SMELLED A BURNING ODOR THROUGHOUT THE VEHICLE AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE ENGINE CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT NO COMPRESSION WAS ON THE NUMBER TWO CYLINDER AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOTIFY COUNSEL AND GET BACK TO THE CONTACT, BUT THEY DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE BEING MADE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS STRAPPED IN MY SEATBELT. THERE WERE TIMES IT GAVE TOO EASILY. BUT THIS TIME WOULD NOT RELEASE AT ALL. AFTER ATTEMPTING ABOUT A HALF HOUR TO GET IT TO RELEASE AND IT WOULD NOT HAD TO CUT BELT TO GET OUT. DEALERSHIP TELLS ME NO RECALL.

DOOR LATCH SAFETY RECALL 15S16 THIS RECALL REPLACEMENT WAS MADE ON 12/2015 FOR THE VEHICLE. ON 4/8/2017 THE VEHICLE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE OR LOCK. IT ACTUALLY OPENS WHILE MOVING AND HAD TO BE SECURED VIA BUNGEE CORD TO MAKE IT TO THE CLOSEST DEALERSHIP. UNFORTUNATELY, ACCORDING TO FORD MOTOR CO, ONCE THE RECALL IS COMPLETED ON THE VEHICLE, THE WARRANTY ONLY LASTS FOR ONE YEAR. THEREFORE, THE WARRANTY RAN OUT ON 12/2016 FOR THE RECALLED REPLACEMENT PART. FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL NOT HONOR THE REPLACED PART AND IN FACT STATES THAT IT WILL COST ME $500 TO FIX. THIS IS A MAJOR RECALL ISSUE FOR FORD AND THE RECALL HAS BEEN EXTENDED TWICE SINCE THE ORIGINAL ONE. I WILL ATTACH THE INFORMATION BELOW. WITHOUT THE LATCH, THE CAR IS NOT DRIVABLE, UNABLE TO BE LOCKED, AND CAUSES THE INTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM TO BE CONTINUOUSLY ILLUMINATED. I WANT AN INVESTIGATION ON THE REPLACEMENT DOOR LATCH PARTS. I DO NOT FEEL AS THE OTHER DOORS ARE SAFE EITHER SINCE THEY WERE APPARENTLY REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME UNDER THE RECALL. FORD SHOULD PAY FOR THIS ISSUE AS THE ORIGINAL FIX IS DEFECTIVE. THIS RECALL AFFECTS OVER 2 MILLION CARS. FORD ALSO TOLD ME IF THEY HAVE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER VEHICLES, THEY COULD DO AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION ON THE REPLACEMENT PARTS. IF A RECALL IS IN FACT MADE ON THE PART A 2ND TIME, I WOULD NOT QUALIFY IF FORD HELPS TO REDUCE THE COST I HAVE TO PAY TO FIX THIS ISSUE NOW. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED! I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO INCLUDE THAT THIS VEHICLE IS MAINLY USED M-F FOR A WORK VEHICLE FOR A SINGLE DRIVER, NO PASSENGERS. THE DRIVER ALSO HAS BEEN DEPLOYED MANY MONTHS IN THE LIFE OF THIS VEHICLE AND THAT DOOR HASN'T BEEN USED MUCH. I COULD ALSO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION FOR THOSE DATES, AS WELL. DOOR LATCHES WERE RECALLED AND REPLACED MARCH 2016, DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH THEN FAILED BEGINNING OF APRIL 2017 (ONE YEAR AND ONE WEEK AFTER THEY WERE REPLACED). IT APPEARS FORD'S FIX TO THE ORIGINAL RECALL WAS NOT A GOOD ONE. BECAUSE IT WAS MORE THAN ONE YEAR PAST THE REPLACEMENT, I WAS MADE TO PAY FOR THIS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS NOT EXPERIENCING A FAILURE. RECALL #17V-209 ISSUED IN APRIL 2017 AND STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE PARTS FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. CONSIDERING THAT THIS DEFECT COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE FIRE, I FIND THIS EXTREMELY TROUBLING AND IRRESPONSIBLE OF FORD MOTOR IN NOT TAKING CARE OF THIS IN A PROMPT TIME FRAME.
MY VEHICHLE HAS HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GO ON AND OFF NUMEROUS TIMES IN THE LAST SIX MONTHS, AND SMELLED A FUNNY SMELL COMING THROUGH THE VENTS. I GET REGULAR MAINTENANCE, HAVE HAD THE CODES READ AS WELL AS DIAGNOSTIC TEST PERFORMED. THE MOST I HAVE BEEN TOLD IS THAT THERE WAS A P144C CODE WHICH IS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM WRONG. NOW WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL. I TOOK MY CAR IN TO FORD THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED 3000 DOLLARS IN WORK DONE AND HAVE YET TO ADDRESS THE 17S09 RECALL EVEN UPON MY CONCERNS. I WAS TREATED UNFAIRLY AT MY LOCAL FORD AND TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER SHOP. NOW AM BEING TOLD THAT MY CAR HAS BEEN OVERHEATING AND THAT MY CYLINDER HEAD GASKET NEEDS REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH FORD AND THEY WONT EVEN HELP, UNTIL THEY SEND A LETTER TO ME NEXT WEEK. MY CAR IS ALREADY IN THE SHOP AND THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE ADRESSED. I NEED HELP.
IN REGARDS TO NHTSA RECALL #17V209000 MY CAR WAS SERVICED FOR A 75K MAINTENANCE POINT, THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO ADDRESS THIS RECALL DUE TO PARTS BEING UNAVAILBLE ON 3/18/17. ON 4/1/17 MY CAR OVERHEATED AND THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN DURING A DRIVE FROM WORK TO HOME, I HAD IT TOWED TO FREMONT FORD AND ON 4/3/17 THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THE ENGINE COOLANT WAS LOW, THE HEATER HOSES HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE OVERHEATING ON 4/1/17, AND THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I AM QUITE CERTAIN THAT THE DEALER IS LIABLE FOR ALL REPAIR COSTS FOR THIS INCIDENT DUE TO NEGLIGENCE IN FAILING TO ADDRESS THE RECALL AND MISLEADING ME AS TO THE TRUE CAUSE OF THE OVERHEATING OF MY VEHICLE'S ENGINE.
ON APRIL 1, 2017, I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT ON A HIGHWAY ON MY WAY HOME FROM A TRIP WHEN MY ENGINE TEMPERATURE SPIKED AND I LOST ALL POWER TO THE ENGINE. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO GET IT TO THE MEDIAN. I HAD JUST HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL THAT DAY COINCIDENTALLY, SO I HAD IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY. THEY DETERMINED THAT IT WAS A CRACKED ENGINE HEAD DUE TO OVERHEATING. THE MECHANIC SEEMED UNAWARE OF THE RECALL WHEN I INQUIRED, BUT THEY AGREED TO CHECK INTO IT. THAT WAS TWO AND A HALF WEEKS AGO. I WAS ADVISED TO CONTACT FORD AND HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THE REGIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. EVER SINCE. FORD HAS BASICALLY OFFERED NO INFORMATION UNTIL TODAY. TODAY I WAS INFORMED VIA E-MAIL THAT THE RECALL IS FOR THE "COOLANT SENSOR" AND "THIS DOES NOT COVER THE REPAIR TO REPLACE THE CYLINDER HEADS." I HAVE READ THE RECALL AND IT STATES VERY CLEARLY THAT THE DANGER OF THE RECALL IS OVERHEATING AND A CRACKED CYLINDER HEAD. I DO NOT HAVE AN OFFICIAL ESTIMATE YET, BUT I HAVE BEEN ADVISED IT WILL COST ME THOUSANDS TO FIX. THIS IS A CAR THAT IS LESS THAN FIVE YEARS OLD AND 72000 MILES, JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. I CHANGE THE OIL AND CHECK THE FLUIDS REGULARLY. IT WAS APPARENTLY BURNING ANTIFREEZE AT FAST ENOUGH TO CAUSE IT TO OVERHEAT AND CRACK A CYLINDER HEAD. MINE DID NOT CATCH ON FIRE, BUT BASED ON MY UNDERSTANDING OF THE RECALL THIS KIND OF DAMAGE COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE AND MANY HAVE CAUGHT FIRE. BASED ON MY READING OF THE RECALL ISSUED BY FORD, THE ONLY SOLUTION THEY ARE OFFERING IS A COOLANT SENSOR. RATHER THAN ADDRESS THE REAL ISSUE OF OVERHEATING AND THE RESULTING DAMAGES, FORD IS APPARENTLY TRYING TO GET AWAY WITH MERELY INSTALLING A SENSOR THAT WILL GIVE YOU A HEADS UP BEFORE YOUR ENGINE EXPLODES. SURELY THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE IN A MODERN VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V209000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING) IN APRIL OF 2017. THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. REAR CENTER PASSENGER SEAT STOPS WORKING AND LOCKS UP IN THE FOLDED-DOWN SEAT POSITION MAKING THE TWO PASSENGER-SIDE SEATS UNUSABLE OR USABLE BY DISENGAGING THE SEAT BELT COMPLETELY. THIS REPEATABLE DEFECT OCCURS WHEN THE PASSENGER-SIDE REAR SEAT IS FOLDED DOWN. THIS CAUSES THE SEATBELT TO LOCK-UP AND THEREFORE IMPEDES RETURNING THE SEAT TO THE NORMAL RAISED POSITION. THE USER EITHER LOOSES THE AVAILABILITY TO USE THE SEAT OR USE IT IN A MATTER THAT IT WAS NOT INTENDED WHILE SEATING A PASSENGER WITH NO RESTRAINING DEVICE AS THE RESTRAINING DEVICE IS STUCK HOLDING THE BACKREST DOWN. IT SHOULD BE OF ADDITIONAL CONCERN THAT THIS DEFECT MAY BE AN INDICATION OF GREATER DANGERS IF IT IS AN INDICATION OF A GENERAL FAILURE OF THE RESTRAINING SYSTEM THAT MAY NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY UPON A COLLISION.

GOT A WARNING TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH - STEERING ASSIST FAULT, GET SERVICE SOON. CLEARED THE MESSAGE AND WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE 10 MILES TO MY DESTINATION. PARKED CAR, LOOKED UNDER HOOD FOR POWER STEERING FLUID RESERVOIR, IT IS NOT THERE. LEFT CAR AND CAME BACK AN HOUR LATER TO LEAVE. GOT MESSAGE, STEERING ASSIST MALFUNCTION. STOP CAR SAFELY. STEERING WHEEL EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN. COULD NOT DRIVE CAR, HAD IT TOWED TO FORD DEALER 16 MILES AWAY. FORD DEALER REPLACED THE STEERING GEAR AND IS WAITING ON SOFTWARE UPDATE TO BE RELEASED BY FORD ON 3/29/2017

I'LL MAKE IT SHORT. I'M EXPERIENCING THE FAILING THROTTLE BODY THAT FORD HAS ISSUED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM FOR, INCLUDING 2013 FUSIONS. THERE'S ARTICLES ALLOVER GOOGLE COVERING THIS TOPIC AND IM SURE THE NHTSA HAS HEARD OF IT BECAUSE THEY WERE PURSUING A RECALL AND FORD WENT AHEAD AND DID THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. IT OCCURS ABOUT ONCE EVERY 5-10K MILES. WHICH FOR ME IS ABOUT EVERY OTHER MONTH. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO SERVICE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY SAY MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM. I FIND IT DISAPPOINTING THAT THEY ADMIT THERE IS A FAULT AND IT'S COMMON KNOWLEDGE AMONG THE MECHANICS THAT THE SENSOR INSIDE THE THROTTLE BODY COVER IS KNOWN TO GO BAD, BUT MY VIN JUST DIDN'T MAKE THE MAGIC "LIST" OF VINS INCLUDED TO BE COVERED. I CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER HELP AND THEY BASICALLY TOLD ME THAT YES, IT'S UNSAFE AND I SHOULD GET IT FIXED, BUT NO SINCE MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED (EVEN THOUGH I'M IN A 2013 FUSION, WHICH IS INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM) I HAVE NO COVERAGE FROM THE PROGRAM. IT'S LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF BUSY 5 LANE HIGHWAYS IN DETROIT AND LANSING, WITH CARS STILL GOING BY AT 80MPH WHILE I HAVE TO POWER OFF MY CAR TO LET THE SENSOR RESET AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND THE CAR ACTS LIKE NOTHING WAS EVER WRONG.

PLACED MY VEHICLE IN REVERSE, COMING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, I TRIED TO PLACE MY CAR IN DRIVE AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS STUCK.I CALLED THE TOW TRUCK, BECAUSE I COULDN'T MOVE MY CAR. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME IT WAS A BROKEN TRANSMISSION CABLE THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. MY VEHICLE HAS 56200 MILES AND DOES NOT FALL INTO THE POWERTRAIN FACTORY WARRANTY.
RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN WHILE IN MOTION ENTERING MY PARKING GARAGE. PASSENGER DOOR WON'T CLOSE AT ALL.
I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE RIGHT FRONT WHEEL FELL OFF THE CAR, CAUSING ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. HAD I BEEN MOVING FASTER, THE FAILURE WOULD BEEN FAR MORE SERIOUS AND WOULD HAVE VERY LIKELY RESULTED IN DEATH OR INJURY. THE WHEEL FELL OFF THE CAR DUE TO A FAILED BALL JOINT EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 67,120 MILES, HAD RECEIVED REGULAR MAINTENANCE, AND HAD NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. FORD DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE FAILURE ALTHOUGH IT SEEMS OBVIOUS THAT THE WHEEL OF A FOUR YEAR OLD CAR WITH RELATIVELY LOW MILEAGE SHOULD NOT SIMPLY FALL OFF THE CAR.
