The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the "overheat stop vehicle" warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle began to lose forward momentum and she managed to pull over and turn the vehicle off. The contact stated that she waited about 20 minutes and turned the vehicle back on. The contact stated that the "overheat" warning illuminated and she could not accelerate above 5 MPH. The contact drove in LIMP mode to a gas station and parked the vehicle. The vehicle had not been taken to a dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The contact researched online and related the failure to Technical Service Bulletin Number: 19-2139 Coolant Intrusion into the Cylinder (Engine and Engine Cooling). The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
Break lights will not turn off after week of high heat and humidity.
Lug nuts are swollen and the factory lug wrench will not fit them. I already paid Ford $100 for the rear wheels, but now they recommend replacing the lugs on the front wheels too, for another $100.
Backseat 60 split / seat was folded down and is locked in position-unable to return to usable seat position . This has happened several times . To fix - you have to take out seat and use special tool to UNLOCK seat belt from base.
I have driven my car a little over 600 miles after the first recall was done for the engine overheat and a sensor was replaced. They drove it 0 miles to test drive it after (it shows on my paperwork) since around 600 miles it has sat because now my engine is actually overheating. I had no idea that I could contact ford again about this until recently and I have the paperwork and mileage to match. But I am afraid they will say the recall was performed and be of no help. Clearly they didn’t care enough to test drive the car after the fix. So I cannot trust them to properly take care of this problem.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that on several occasions when the vehicle was started and the seat belt was connected, the air bag warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the seat belt sensor needed to be replaced due to failure in detecting that the seat belt had been inserted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at approximately 40 MPH, the power steering failed, causing the steering wheel to become difficult to turn in either direction. During the failure, the messages "Service Power Steering'', "Hill Assist Not Available" and "Service Advance Track" were displayed. The vehicle was driven to the local dealer. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 140,000.
I was driving on 7/26/2023 and the power steering system malfunctioned, resulting in complete loss of power steering. I received a warning message: "Steering Assist Malfunction Service Required" I lost control of the vehicle momentarily until I realized I could still steer, but with great difficulty. I pulled over, turned off the car, restarted it and regained power steering for a few seconds before it failed again, giving the aforementioned warning message. From that point, power steering was completely lost and did not come back after stopping and restarting again. Fortunately, I was able to get my car home without incident but it was very difficult to steer and making tight turns was impossible. I took the vehicle to Varsity Ford in Ann Arbor, MI who told me, "The power steering rack has an internal failure that won't reset or clear." They indicated that the only way to restore the power steering is by replacing the electronic power steering rack. I was quoted $3950.80 for this and my car is currently undergoing repair because I need a mode of transportation. There is a known issue with the Ford Fusion (https://www.consumerreports.org/consumerist/ford-recalls-nearly-445k-vehicles-for-power-steering-failure-fuel-leak-issues/) and Ford has issued recalls for 2011 to 2013 model years. Mine is a 2013, but the specific model (Energi) is not covered. I experienced the same issue so Ford's recall should cover the Energi model and I should be reimbursed for the repair costs.

The ability to stop quickly. Car jerked forward causing me to veer off the freeway. If I had not veered off, I would have ran into the back of the car in front of me. (Unaware of any problems with vehicle as the vehicle is stored more than driven) I brought the vehicle home and parked it because of the clucking noise. The recall repair on the vehicle did not fix the problem. Now the vehicle has a transmission failure just approximately 11,000.00 after the recall repair was closed out.
As I was going down the highway my car started smoking dramatically. There were no warning lights so I assumed it might be a belt. I pulled to the side of the road and opened the hood to find flames coming from the backside of the engine. I have had it in the shop now for the last two months and the initial thought was that the water pump could have caused the issue. However, after that set of repairs it was burning oil. Further investigation has shown that the head is cracked.
My fuel tank has an excessive build up of gasses and it causes a loud burping noise at the fuel door flap. I do have a Video of this incident.

My daughter in law just had her brakes serviced at Jack Demmer Ford and the next day the power steering suddenly failed while she was driving with my grand daughter in the back seat. She was unable to steer the car but did manage to stop safely. I understand the Electric Power Steering Assist (EPSA) failure is a very common problem on this vehicle and has been recalled on this model and year but not on her VIN. Now Ford says they cannot even look at the car for 3 weeks so she is driving my car while I will be driving hers with no power steering. I have owned and driven cars from 1966 to 2023 and never had power steering fail while the car was in motion. Older cars that never had power steering are still easy to steer and drive but the 2013 Fusion Hybrid is very difficult and almost impossible at lower speeds meaning she absolutely cannot drive the car. Amazing how she can get her car into the Ford dealership for brake maintenance but not for a immediate safety issue like not being able to steer.

The Cooling System Failed as I was on 485 interstate in traffic and it almost caused a serious accident, as the speed limit was 70 in that area I was almost rear ended due to the car idling down suddenly with the OVER HEAT WARNING flashing. It is available for inspection upon request. I start the car sometimes and instantly OVER HEAT WARNING appears on dash. The problem has not been fixed by dealer, I've had multiple mechanics replace new parts an still resulting in same issue OVER HEATING, I must add the car isn't OVER Heating it's a false reading but I can not drive the car in a safe manner if it continues to do this while in traffic at high rates of speed, very very dangerous other drivers are not aware of the sudden change of speed when this issue happens. There were no PRE WARNINGS, issue started back in February 2023, it is now May 31, 2023. I'm still making payments on this vehicle monthly, I'm not able to enjoy the car in a safe manner because of this ongoing issue, I really could use some HELP with this issue as my safety and the safety of other drivers are the main focus here. Thank You, please be in touch.

Wipers stopped working. Had fused checked. Fuse was not the problem. Ford dealer to complete diagnostic testing as no other auto repair shop will fix the issue. There are 22 reports for faulty wipers, wipers not working, Ford refusal to issue a recall. Meanwhile, they issued a recall for pickup truck wiper recall. Obviously, it is possible Ford Fusion Titanium 2013 and other vehicles could suffer the same issue(s). The cost is hundreds of dollars and Ford says "oh well." Meanwhile vehicles cost $20,000 + no accountability for faulty parts.
While traveling at low speed and making a turn, sometimes loss of power steering assist that is requiring a greater steering effort occurs. Increasing the risk of a crash. Power Steering Assist Failure while driving. Problem is intermittent but persistent and can happen suddenly. It nearly caused me to go off the road when it happened while going around a curve. When putting gas and or driving in low idle car stalls As if the fuel pump is bad
I’ve received a letter in March regarding this safety recalls and I not been contacted by the manufacturer for any remedy. I have not had this vehicle for a full six months. Now the break fluids leaks, there’s an issue with a gasket, and I cannot longer drive vehicle due to the smell of something burning. The recall states it’s an increasing risk of a crash. I have to search for transportation to and from work because I refuse to cause harm to myself or others. Safety Risk IF THE BRAKE FLUID LEAKS, YOUR VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE AN INCREASE IN BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL TOGETHER WITH A REDUCTION IN THE RATE OF DECELERATION OVER TIME, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. Ford should provide another vehicle as a loaner until this issue has been resolved.
An unknown component of the fuel system is faulty, causing a very strong odor of fuel to enter the cabin upon starting up, as well as when coming to a stop & idling. The manufacturer has not inspected the vehicle, but an automotive technician confirmed the odor and attempted to remedy the problem by replacing the evaporative system lines, with no change. Fuel lines and tank/vent were inspected, with no fault found. The odor can cause a feeling of illness & headache when driving. It is unknown if there is a leak which could lead to a fire. No warning lamps.
The power steering failed on the highway. The Ford dealer quoted $3,000 to repair the power steering.
My vehicle steering has failed/is failing. While driving I had intermittent loss of power steering and a knocking noise when turning the wheel in any direction which has been confirmed by my local ford dealer. They have stated that the electric rack and pinion is the issue. I didn’t receive any notification on my dashboard. It seems this is an ongoing problem with my year vehicle in other states.
