1. Im driving and all of a sudden my car will not leave the park position . It turns out that theres a recall on said problem and when i called dealership to have them tow vehicle they said i have to pay for tow. Even though its a manufactor recall. And I get car serviced regularly at dealership. This clearly not my fault as a consumer so why am i a absorbing cost. I calked for road side they gave me run around and numbers which no one answers . While my car is not working and thank god i was at a stop sign when this happened it could have been worst. And i must pay for something that is not my fault. Clearly not how this works when there is a recall. 2. Another is that i found with this car was i let back seat down to put my grand babys stroller in and seat in back wont let up on hybrid due to all the wiring under neath and in trunk. Apparently u must leave middle seat belt in latched position because that what allows u to let seat up. The car seat is supposed to go in middle area. This is clearly poor nanufactoring. But yet they charge a hundred dollars to let seat up .also a manufactoring issue. Tge solution that was given was never let back seat down. But how is that a solution when seat should let down and up. I can put car seat in back anymore nor can my babys buckle their seat belt in back. It is clearly a safety issue and if i check online or youtube this is clearly a real issue but ford ignored. How many moms or kids must die from fords haphazard behavior or stand behind the vehicle recalls that the nhtsa has authorized them to repair. . I am almost 50 but i gurantee i will make this my mission to hold ford and nhtsa accountable for this negligentband poorly made cars by ford. I will not pay for an issue which is clearly a manufacters issue. I have to pay for a tow on a transmission recall . When it was never my fault to begin with.
The contact owned a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at approximately 30-40 MPH, another vehicle driving in the opposite direction made an illegal turn. The contact's daughter depressed the brake pedal to avoid colliding with the other vehicle; however, the brakes failed to engage, and the contact's vehicle crashed into the other vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's daughter suffered injuries to her head, neck, and back and was transported by ambulance to the hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard, where it was deemed totaled by the insurance company. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 151,363.
Although this vehicle is 10 years old it has only logged less than 17k miles (near new condition). A few months back it was noted that the backlighting on the console, steering wheel, interior door panels and overhead console were inoperative under non-daylight conditions. At night, it's driving blind from an instrumentation perspective. Controls cannot be located as they cannot be seen. This backlighting has a mind of its own. Upon entering the vehicle all the lighting in question lights up and then times out (?) Activating outside lighting (headlights) when you expect and need the backlighting, it just isn't there. Disconnecting the battery for 12 hours (reboot) did nothing to solve the problem. Personally, I believe the slap-happy lighting engineers went way overboard with warning and flashing lights on this vehicle. The lighting in question is there, not just when needed. Due to this over-engineering I refuse to pay shop labor prices to troubleshoot or replace parts on a premium vehicle. As this car has become the "Recall Queen" I feel it was placed on the market well before its time and as a consumer I'm now the guinea pig in the field. Never another Ford. NOTE: Uploaded file shows console section and backlighting is ON. Ignition is off and if car is started the backlighting eventually turns off. Activating the headlights the console and all other backlighting remains dead.
My complaint does not concern an accident. It concerns the two incomplete recalls referenced above. I have been trying to schedule these repairs since, I believe, February and the Service Department at the local Ford dealership, Mac Haik Ford, 4242 East Sam Houston Pkwy S, Pasadena, TX 77505, will not even respond to my requests to schedule the work. I have left detailed messages with the Haik contact representative (vehicle model and year, the Campaign/NHTSA numbers that I want to have done, my phone number, my email address, etc.) as requested by Haik's contact person and no one from the Service Department has ever responded, not even once. In order to give Ford and Haik a final chance before filing this complaint, I left TWO scheduling requests this week- one on Monday or Tuesday and one yesterday. The Service Department did not respond to either. However, in response to my repeated efforts to schedule this safety recall work, I have been spammed with car sales solicitation calls and emails back from the dealership beginning on March 1. (Perhaps earlier, but March 1 is the first undeleted email that is still on my computer.) These safety recall campaigns are not being administered, and processed as such by Ford Motor Company, at least not by its dealership in Pasadena, Texas. The Mac Haik dealership obviously has no interest in doing this recall work. I suppose they can make more money doing other work. In any event, Ford's recall notices are just used as sales prospect-generating tools. They are not actually accepting cars and doing the recall work.

I had coolant leaking in my 2013 Ford Fusion SE 1.6L causing a misfire in cylinder 3 from diagnostics code P0303. After going to a repair shop on 3 seperate occasions and paying to fix issues thought to remedy the issue, I had the Ford dealership in Hudson WI look at it while they took care of a recall. They quoted me $9,900 to replace the engine due to a cracked block. It was hard to get a response from the technician and they were really unprofessional towards me when I requested the part numbers. So much time has been spent on this not to mention that I have been without a vehicle for 1.5 years because my inability to cover additional repairs or the cost of a new car. I also lost my job due to my transportation issues, and paid over $19,000 for this vehicle. I wish Ford would issue a recall because this is a very common issue for this make and model. 2013 Ford Fusion SE L4 1.6L (102K miles)

Not sure if related to recall - took vehicle in due service in December 2022 for service and recall. My Ford app indicates they did not take care of it. While driving from California to arizona on January 9, 2023 the engine lights came on: coolant hot, vehicle unsafe to drive, see manual. I couldn’t drive my vehicle. Broke down on the 10 interstate. Would not move. Would not go into reverse. It was towed to surprise Ford in surprise, arizona and I’m currently awaiting diagnostic testing. They said they will check if it’s related to recall. Towed from I-10 to home by AAA. Home to shop by sttae farm insurance. Thank you. The contact stated that after being inspected at the dealer, the damage to the vehicle was found to have no relation to the recall.
2013 Ford Fusion with 99,799 miles on it; went out to go start it after work one day, unable to get into car or start car as battery was completely drained. Did not leave lights on etc. Had someone jump car; on way to repair shop, car shut down and would not restart; thankfully I was NOT on a highway. Since that time, it has had 2 new batteries placed in it, will run for about 5 minutes then shut off and you cannot restart it again; it has also been to 2 repair shops and is presently at the Ford dealership as my shop was not able to determine what was wrong. Cooling fan also noted to be running after car died yet still not able to restart. Read on Ford forums that this has happened to other Fusion owners of the same year.Up to this point, intermittently the battery saver message would come across the dash however I had that looked at and was cleared out. With the car just shutting down without any warning on a busy street in the city, this could have ended a lot worse: I could have been hit or even killed. No warning lights appeared on dash aside from powertrain light after it was jumped but after that, there was nothing. Car was essentially dead and I could not get it to restart. When it was running I could not get the car to go over 10mph in a 35mph zone
The steering wheel of my 2013 Ford fusion is becoming loose. Apon looking up this issue I found that there is a recall on 2014-2018 Ford Fusions for this same issue. I am wondering if my vehicle can be included so that this safety issue can be fixed?
Power Steering warning light came on while I was driving. I was still able to steer the car. After I shut the car off and turned it back on I could barely steer the car. The warning light came on again. I left the car at a nearby garage, but they are closed until Jan 2, because of the holiday. I could have gotten into an accident. Other vehicles were flashing their lights and honking as I had to drive very slowly with my hazards on to get to the repair station. This is truly a safety issue with my 2013 Ford Fusion.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, a message indicating a power steering failure was displayed. The steering wheel locked. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure persisted. The contact was able to drive to her residence by using physical force to steer the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then taken to another independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the Powertrain Control module (PCM) had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as there was no open recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 174,000.
While driving, I stepped on the brake pedal to slow down as I turned into a parking lot. The pedal went to the floor and I had no brakes. I was able to pump the pedal and regain some pressure to park and come to a stop. I called my insurance company for roadside assistance and had the car towed to a nearby service station recommended by a friend. Once on the lift, the technician immediately found that the right front brake line had failed.

The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle overheated after several miles. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the coolant level was low and refilled the reservoir. The contact stated that the failure had become recurring. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V209000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,775.
I had multiple electric power steering failures. the first in 2022, and the second in June of 2023. In 2023 we did a complete replacement that cost over $3000.
I was driving home from work in the freeway my 2013 Ford Fusion started shaking , jerking , stopping and not accelerating and all of the sudden came to a complete stop. I was almost hit by vehicles in the freeway and had to exit to get the vehicle tow due to faulty transmission issues with ecoboost. Ford was contacted and they try to tell me no open recalls for the transmission.
10 mins into driving the car the car had a loss of power and the instrument cluster flashed a see manual indicator and a wrench flashed on the screen within 1 min of pulling on to the shoulder of the road the entire engine compartment was in flames. I had the recall for the issue know to have caused this performed on the car but it doesn’t seem the issue was resolved. The car is now totaled due to an issue that has appeared to happen with multiple vehicles reported to the NHTSA.
Gasoline leak from gas tank. The fuel sender failed at 60,000 miles, had it replaced. Vin not under recall. Now fuel leak from replaced fuel sender. Again Vin not in recalled units. WTF?
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while attempting to open the coolant overflow reservoir tank, the upper part of the tank cap fractured, preventing the contact from opening the coolant reservoir. The contact stated that on other occasions, the cap had melted. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the coolant overflow reservoir tank cap was replaced several times. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 MPH, the check engine, engine coolant system failure, and various other unknown warning alarms and lights were illuminated and heard, and the vehicle then lost motive power. The vehicle was able to restart; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic; however, there was no diagnostic test or repair completed. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact then towed the vehicle to another independent mechanic and after the mechanic shifted the gear into neutral(N), the vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was then diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle remained at the mechanic's shop awaiting the repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000.
Transmission is the worst I have ever used in any vehicle. Constantly slips downshifting and upshifting also when breaking. Transmission is slow to shift and then has hard bang and jerks the car
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would unintendedly drift to the left. There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle lost power steering functionality. A warning message indicating power steering failure was displayed. The contact was able to continue driving by using physical force to steer the vehicle. The contact later received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for recall repair; however, after the recall repair, the power steering failure increased significantly. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
While driving, the clutch is beginning to slip in from 1st- 3rd gears. I feel as though this could be a safety issue if the transmission gives out all together in traffic. This problem has been inspected and confirmed by manufacturer. There were no warning signals prior to the failure and they began to appear around 130,000 miles. Ford has a recall for the SAME models with the EXACT same issue (recall number 18s07), but not with my 2.5 L engine. This seems completely unfair as I have the EXACT same transmission and obviously it will have the EXACT same issues. Therefore, I would like a total coverage for the repairs as it has already been identified as a manufacturing issue of Ford.
My 2013 Ford Fusion Titanium hesitates a lot while driving, and on several occasions the vehicle has flat out stalled in the middle of traffic. Something pops up on the dashboard saying “Run Power Active” and when I go to restart it, it’s takes a while for the car to turn back on. This has happened more than once a day some times.
I purchased this 2013 in September 2022. My car is jerking while driving, when put into drive from reverse, it will say in reverse. It will shut down while idling from stop to go. I am afraid because, I almost caused an accident while driving the interstate.
My 2013 Ford Fusion experienced an electronic powered steering failure recently. It is my belief that this was due to an incorrect, incomplete, and ultimately unsafe repair to the affected system. From my research this model and year has experienced significant issues and failures of the "steering gearbox" even after the recall from Manufacturer Campaign Number: 19S26. Failures of the steering gearbox leading to an abrupt failure of the power steering system in the vehicle is not only incredibly dangerous but subsequently an issue what was not fully resolved by the organization. This vehicle has many foundational safety concerns that are a result of cheap and incomplete repairs revealing weaknesses in sustainable practices and beliefs held by the organization. When the issue arose it was abrupt and without warning initially. The vehicle is very difficult to control even at higher speeds with the failure of the electronic power steering gear box as compared to a traditional fluid based power steering system. When I had the vehicle inspected on 11/15/2022 I inquired from the ford dealership whether the work completed looked sufficient it was not answered. The employee also made note that this issue is "very common" and "very expensive to repair". As a result of this I am requesting that the NHTSA seriously review information and gather data corroborating information I have provided. I believe The Ford Motor Company needs to be held responsible for a full repair or provide assistance to those experiencing this issue to a part that if fixed properly would not be an issue under reasonable circumstance. Looking at the trends of this vehicle, its recalls, and its level of consistency of repair it has been extremely poor and unsafe. The most recent recall involving the seat belt has been "fixed" many times poorly resulting in another recall. This power steering gear box failure is build from the same clay and should be resolved through repair or repair based assistance.
On Nov. 7, 2022, I took the 2013 Ford Fusion to the local dealership in Lugoff, SC for Recall 20S30 Latch Repeat repair . I waited the majority of the day and the majority of the next day and they were unable to complete the recall repair as the Ford Corporate system was not working, I have checked back with the local dealership every week since then and still no resolution. Finally, last week I called the Ford headquarters (Case Number CAS-3990-9379). They said the problem was on the local dealership's end and then I would call the local dealership and they would said it was on the Ford corporate end. This back and forth went on for 2 1/2 hours ass I could not get me along with the other two parties on the call at the same time. I called the local Ford dealership today December 7 and still no resolution.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a faulty hose and the hose was replaced. The contact stated that on another occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated, and the engine seized. Additionally, a failure code was displayed indicating a failure with cylinder #3. The vehicle was towed to the dealer however, the warranty company directed the contact to tow the vehicle to Precision Tune. Precision Tune rebuilt the engine, and the vehicle was delivered back to contact. The contact stated that less than a month after getting the vehicle back, the turbo became inoperable. The vehicle was taken back to Precision Tune. The vehicle was diagnosed with a failed turbo and the turbo needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while her daughter was driving at 60 MPH, she smelled an unknown burning odor as an unknown-colored smoke began to emit from underneath the vehicle without warning. Her daughter then pulled over and saw flames emitting from underneath the hood of the engine. While waiting for the authorities to arrive at the scene, a fellow motorist witnessed the failure and managed to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
-Electronic parking brake system (Brakes, Electrical) -If the Parking brake fails due to electrical component failure/premature degradation as well as the transmission bushing recall simultaneously, the vehicle could move on it's own while unattended causing accident/harm. -The vehicle is now in a dealer shop, work status has not been updated. -Inspection in progress by manufacturer dealership -Audible alarm with warning message "Electronic brake malfunction, Service now"
this is 2013 ford fusion and have transmission issue while shifting the gear, it picks the gear very late from stop to moving the car and it cause jerking, this is manufacturing fault in this model. please investigate and should be RECALL for this issue
I was driving to work and preparing to enter the highway when I received a flashing "low brake fluid" warning light and alarm. Within the first 5 miles of highway driving (before I could reach the next exit) I continually lost brake pedal and brake pressure. By the time that I was safely able to exit the highway my brake pedal needed to be depressed all the way to the floor for me to stop. Obviously this put the safety of myself and others in grave risk. I was lucky to be able to exit the freeway when I did. I found out from the dealer that there was a "Customer Satisfaction Program 22N02" notice issued in September 2022 that addressed my issue, as well as offered a repair. The dealer, however, is unable to perform the work for at least a month. My car has been sitting in a parking lot pending some way for me to get a repair. With the severity and grave risk of bodily harm associated with this issue it NEEDS TO BE A RECALL and not a "customer satisfaction program." I could have died or killed a pedestrian.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at approximately 30 MPH, she began to slow for a traffic light when the vehicle stalled and would not start again. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and determined that there was no transmission fluid left in the unit and that the transmission had to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.
On 9/16/22 we were driving at about 30 mph on a narrow two lane road in Tewksbury, NH, when the engine suddenly and without warning failed to accelerate and began shaking violently, then quit. We managed to restart and when it again failed to accelerate managed to pull off road into a driveway. We called AAA and had car towed to Salem Ford in Salem, NH. See attached invoice for diagnosis. Incident occurred without warning. Car had been serviced in June 2022 with no problems found. Had we been unable to pull off road, the engine failure could have resulted in severe rear end collision as problem occurred in a blind curve. See attached invoice from Salem Ford.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while his wife was reversing and turning the steering wheel, the front of the vehicle emitted abnormal loud clunking and popping sounds. The message "Service Advancetrac" and a message indicating that the Hill Stop Assist had failed were displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it diagnosed that the steering rack needed to be replaced as the steering gear motor bolts were fractured. The vehicle was repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they could not assist as the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering). The failure mileage was approximately 41,500.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion.
