MY 2013 FORD FUSION CONTINUOUSLY HARD SHIFTS AND JERKS WHILE DRIVING. SPARK PLUGS HAVE BEEN CHANGED ALSO TRANSMISSION FLUID CHECKS HAVE BEEN DONE AND IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. MY MILEAGE IS ONLY 80,900. THIS HAS CONTINUED NOW FOR ALMOST A YEAR AND A HALF.
ALL LOCKS IN CAR START CLICKING THEN 3-5 SECONDS LATERS TRUNK OPENS. HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIME SOMETIMES HAPPEN WHEN CAR IS PARKED OR WHILE DRIVING. IT'S BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT 1.5 YEARS HAVE TOOK ITS TO 3 DIFFERENT FORD DEALERSHIP ALL COULDN'T FINE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. IT'S IS A 2013 FORD FUSION WITH ABOUT 122000 MILES. THE MOST RECENT WAS 3/26/2021 WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING THE TRUCK WAS OPEN. A COUPLE OF DAYS BEFORE WE WHERE DRIVING ABOUT TO MERGE ON THE FREEWAY THEY TRUCK OPEN HAD TO PULL OVER TO CLOSE.
2013 FORD FUSION TITANIUM: ENGINE SHAKES THEN SHUTS ITS SELF OFF WHEN STARTING THE CAR AND DRIVING (HUGE SAFETY ISSUE,) TAKES A MINUTE TO START THEN EITHER RUNS FINE OR SHUTS OFF AGAIN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP LAST YEAR (2020) AND THEY REPLACE A FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON THEN WHEN OFF AFTER A COUPLE DAYS. THE CODE WAS THE SAME AS LAST TIME. I HAVE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH FORD ON FRIDAY. I SPEND SO MUCH MONEY REPAIRING THIS CAR. I'D RATHER TRADE IT IN THAN FIX A NEW AND OLD PROBLEM EVERY 4 MONTHS.

THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO WEST HILLS FORD (1100 OYSTER BAY AVE S, BREMERTON, WA 98312, (360) 616-3277). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.
I HAVE HAD THE ISSUE OF HARD SHIFTING FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. TODAY WAS VERY SCARY FOR ME AS I WAS MANEUVERING ACROSS TRAFFIC MY CAR DID NOT WANT TO MOVE.IT MADE A HIGH GEAR SOUND, AS IF IT WAS REVVING IN A HIGH GEAR.IT SEEMED AS IF THE CAR WAS NOT SHIFTED INTO THE CORRECT GEAR.AFTER ABOUT 2 MINUTES IT STARTED TO DRIVE NORMALLY. IT JUST SEEMED LIKE THE GEARS HAD SLIPPED. I WAS LUCKY THAT IT WASN'T A BUSY TIME OF DAY, AS I WOULD HAVE BEEN IN TROUBLE NOT BEING ABLE TO GO ABOVE 2 MILES AN HOUR.I WAS AT A FAST FOOD PLACE AND HAD THE CAR IN PARK GEAR.I THAN SHIFTED IT TO DRIVE AND MY CAR MOVED OUT INTO TRAFFIC NORMALLY FOR ABOUT 30 FEET AND THAN JUST SEEMED LIKE IT WENT OUT OF GEAR BECAUSE IT BARELY MOVED
TRANSMISSION LATCH AND ENGINE COOLING ISSUE ASSOCIATED WITH SIMILAR MODELS BUT NOT THIS SPECIFIC MODEL.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while her daughter was driving approximately 35 MPH, the "Check Engine" warning light illuminated. The contact's daughter reported that the temperature gauge was showing a high engine temperature. The contact's daughter safely pulled over. The contact said that there was white steam coming from under the hood. The contact stated that her husband picked up the vehicle with a vehicle trailer and towed the vehicle back to the residence. The contact later drove the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with an engine coolant leak. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 12V551000 (Engine and Engine Cooling) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.
WHILE DRIVING WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON SAYING THAT THERE WAS A STEERING PROBLEM. MANY OTHER LIGHTS CAME ON IN TURN AND I PULL OFF THE ROAD WITH IT BEING EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE GARAGE AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE OVER $2,000 TO REPAIR. I HAVE DONE SOME CHECKING AND FOUND THAT THERE MAY BE A RECALL IN THE WORKS 15V250000 BECAUSE OF STEERING PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION THAT COULD LEAD TO MANY DEATHS. I THINK FORD SHOULD PAY TO HAVE THIS VEHICLE REPAIRED AND NOT THE OWNER.
MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND SAYS 'STEERING LOSS STOP SAFETY'
TRUNK OPENS UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN EITHER PARKED OR IN MOTION.
ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO ENGINE OIL AFTER RECALL PERFORMED, [RECALL # 17V209000] HAD THE CAR IN FOR MANY SERVICE PROBLEMS RELATED TO MISFIRE ON CYLINDER ONE. HAD INJECTORS CLEANED, REPLACED SPARK PLUGS, REPLACED THE COIL PACK, HAD THE COOLANT SYSTEM FLUSHED AND PRESSURIZED FOR LEAKS, ONLY 42000 MILES,
PURCHASED A 2013 FORD FUSION IN 2020 AND KEPT THE CAR FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS. DURING THE 4TH MONTH OF OWNING THE CAR I NOTICED THAT I WOULD FILL UP THE COOLANT RESERVOIR AND A COUPLE DAYS LATER I WOULD HAVE TO FILL IT UP AGAIN. I CHECKED UNDER THE CAR FOR LEAKS AND THERE WEREN'T ANY LEAKS THAT I COULD FIND. I CHECKED FORUMS FOR ANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND I FOUND OUT THAT THERE IS AN INTERNAL ENGINE COOLANT LEAK FOR FORD FUSIONS WITH THE 1.6L ECOBOOST MODELS. THAT'S THE EXACT MODEL I HAVE. I CALLED FORD GAVE THEM MY VIN NUMBER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WEREN'T ANY RECALLS FOR MY VEHICLE AT THE TIME. SO I HAD A MECHANIC CHECK OUT MY COOLANT LINES AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS A HUGE LEAK IN MY COOLANT SYSTEM, ALTHOUGH THEY COULDN'T TELL ME WHERE. I HAD THE VEHICLE PRESSURE TESTED AND THE LEAK WAS INTERNAL. DROVE THE CAR BACK HOME THAT DAY AND ONCE I REACHED MY HOUSE SMOKE STARTED TO COME INSIDE THE CABIN. I IMMEDIATELY PARKED THE VEHICLE AND POPPED THE HOOD AND NOTICED THERE WAS A FIRE UNDER MY HOOD. CALLED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT THEY ARRIVED AFTER ABOUT 3 MINUTES AND BY THAT TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DONE FOR. I COULD'VE LOST MY LIFE THAT DAY. I'M HAPPY THAT I DIDN'T. FORD PREVIOUSLY RECALLED CERTAIN 2013 AND 2014 FORD VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 1.6L ENGINE FOR A SIMILAR ISSUE UNDER RECALL CAMPAIGNS 12V551 AND 17V209. UNFORTUNATELY I'M NOW OUT OF $12,000 AND I NO LONGER HAVE A VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS MECHANICAL FAILURE.
MY FORD FUSION 2013 HAS BEEN RUNNING SMOOTHLY UNTIL I PARKED TODAY OUTSIDE USPS TO MAIL A PACKAGE BUT WHILE TRYING TO BACK UP LATER , MY STEERING WOULDN'T MOVE . ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON WITH STEERING ASSIST FAULT NOTE .

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,000.
WHEN I TURNED ON THE VEHICLE THE DASHBOARD SYSTEM REPORTED 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT'. I ATTEMPTED TO LEAVE THE DRIVEWAY HOWEVER THE STEERING WHEEL DID NOT WORK AND AS A RESULT ALMOST CRASHED INTO A NEIGHBORS VEHICLE.
I NOTICED WHEN THE CAR WAS ON THE ENGINE MADE A CLUNKING SOUND AT STARTUP, THIS WAS NOT VERY UNUSUAL AS THE HYBRID HAS MADE DIFFERENT NOISES AT STARTUP, AND DEALERSHIPS HAVE ASSUMED THIS WAS "NORMAL". AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS, A LOUD NOISE BEGAN, SOUNDING AS IF I WAS DRAGGING SOMETHING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN. WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE ANY AND ALL REPAIRS/RECALLS HAVE BEEN PERFORMED AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THEY FELT THAT IT WAS THE BEARINGS INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD BE BETTER TO GET RID OF THE CAR THAN REPAIR IT. THIS IS A WELL-DOCUMENTED KNOWN ISSUE THAT FORD IS AWARE OF. IN APRIL OF 2020, THE ELECTRICAL/ A/C WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY AND THE FACEPLATE WAS REPLACED COSTING $780. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD 7 KNOWN RECALLS, 3 OF WHICH HAD TO DO WITH TRANSMISSION/POWERTRAIN, THREE OUT OF THE 4 DOORS HAD FAILED DATES WERE AUG 2014, FEB 2015 & APRIL 2015 THE DEALERSHIP REFUSED TO FIX THE 4TH DOOR STATING IT WAS NOT A RECALL (I WOULD LIKE TO NOTE WHEN ONE OF THE DOORS LATCHED FAILED MY SON WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND FELL HALFWAY OUT OF THE VEHICLE, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS TURNING-HIS SEAT BELT SAVED HIM) IN JUNE OF 2015 NHTSA SENT A RECALL, 4 DOOR LATCH ISSUES WERE REPLACED IN MAY 2016. THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF KNOWN PROBLEMS THAT SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY.
LEAVING GAS STATION. CAR JUST STOPS DRIVING WHILE IN THE DRIVING GEAR. SO I PULLED OVER SLOWLY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND I HAD A WARNING TO 'SEE MANUAL' 'HILL ASSISTANT NOT AVAILABLE' 'STOP SAFELY NOW' AND IT WAS SHOWING TRACTION CONTROL ON. IT WILL NOT DRIVE. AND RUNS WEIRD NOW.
MY 2013 FORD FUSION IS HAVING ISSUES WITH THE PASSENGER DOOR. IT WAS GETTING HARDER TO CLOSE WITH OUT SLAMMING IT. WELL ONE DAY IT FLEW OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET TURNING ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. THE DOOR WOULDN'T STAY CLOSED WITHOUT ROPE FROM THEN ON. GOOD THING I DIDN'T HAVE MY 3 KIDS WITH ME AT THE TIME. THE FORCE BENT THE HINGES AS WELL AS DENTED THE DOOR. I TOOK IT TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WAS ON THE RECALL LIST FOR FAULTY DOOR LATCHES AND TO BRING IT BACK IN 5 DAYS. THIS IS AFTER I TOLD THEM I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH A ROPE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED. I BRING MY CAR IN 5 DAYS LATER AND GET A RENTAL THAT FORD WOULDN'T COVER. WELL 2 DAYS LATER I GET A CALL SAYING THEY WILL NOT FIX THE RECALLED DOOR LATCH AND TO COME PICK UP MY CAR. I'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND FOR OVER A MONTH NOW WITH MY DOOR ROPED SHUT BUT IT POPS OPEN STILL. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. I'M NOT FINANCIALLY STABLE ENOUGH TO PAY FOR THE COSTLY REPAIR. I'M AT SUCH A LOSS THAT FORD WILL NOT FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE. THE DEALER SHIP EVEN CLEARED THE RECALL ON LINE AND IT NOW SAYS ALL LATCHES ARE FIXED PLEASE? HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN? PLEASE HELP!
AS SOON AS I STARTED IT THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON. THEN THE COOLANT OVERHEATING WARNING CAME ON AND DE RATED THE VEHICLE. THEN I SHUT IT OFF. WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY

WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER BEING STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION OR STOP SIGN CAR HITS ABOUT 20 25 RPM'S ACCELERATION STOPS HAVE TO EASE BACK ON THE GAS SLOWLY AND NEVER SHIFTS IN TO NEXT GEAR. I HAD TO DRIVE HOME SLOWLY ABOUT 20 MPH. HAPPENS AFTER EVER STOP AND GO
WHILE DRIVING IN A LIGHT SNOW STORM THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOPPED WORKING. I TRIED TO PUSH DOWN ON THE STALK TO GET THEM TO WORK ONCE AND THEN TRIED TO PUSH IT UP TO GET TO A SET SPEED AND NOTHING WORKED. ABOUT 3-5 MINUTES LATER THEY CAME ON, WIPED 3 TIMES AND THEN STOPPED AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED 3 TIMES ON MY 30 MINUTE DRIVE. THIS INTERMITTENT ISSUE COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS IF THE STORM WAS WORSE. I WAS DRIVING 45 MPH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER CORWIN FORD RENO (3601 KIETZKE LN, RENO, NV 89502, (775) 329-8800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED AS OF YET. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V331000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,649.*DT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING HER VEHICLE AT 35 MPH, THE CONTACT HAD TURNED HER STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT; HOWEVER, THE WHEELS FAILED TO OPERATE AND TURN WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT COLLIDED WITH THE CURB DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF HER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND SHE DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISION. THE CONTACT LATER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN ACQUAINTANCE'S HOME WHERE IT REMAINED IN THEIR POSSESSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THEY OFFERED HER NO ASSISTANCE; THEY REFERRED HER TO NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED HER FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V632000(STEERING); HOWEVER, HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL IN EFFECT (NHTSA RECALL 15V250000) FOR FORD FUSION VEHICLES THAT COULD EXPERIENCE A DANGEROUS LACK OF VEHICLE CONTROL DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. I HAVE A FORD FUSION ENERGI 2013 (MODEL YEAR OVERLAPPING THAT OF THE EXISTING ISSUE), EXPERIENCING A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. IS THERE A REASON MY VIN/MODEL WERE NOT INCLUDED?
I HAD STARTED MY CAR ONE MORNING AND NOTICED SOME "DUMMY" LIGHTS HAD NOT GONE OFF. I THEN GOT A NOTICE ABOUT "HILL SIDE ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" THAT WAS WEIRD AS I WAS ON A FLAT SURFACE. THEN I ALSO GOT A NOTIFICATION THAT SAID "SERVICE ADVANCETRAK". THE WARNING LAMPS THAT STAYED ILLUMINATED ARE ABS, FRONT AIRBAG, STABILITY CONTROL, AND STABILITY CONTROL OFF LIGHTS. WHILE I DROVE OFF, THE STEERING WAS AFFECTED AS WELL, IT WASN'T LIKE I HAD NO POWER STEERING, BUT IT WAS DEFINATELY MORE DIFFICULT TO STEER. I GOT TO WORK, CALLED THE DEALER, MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR MY CAR TO BE LOOKED AT. WHICH WAS THENEXT DAY. WHEN I WENT BACK TO MY CAR AFTER WORK, THE WARNING LIGHTS AND NOTIFICATIONS DID NOT APPEAR. THE NEXT DAY, WENT TO THE CAR, GOING TO WORK, ALL THE LIGHTS APPEARED AGAIN. CAR WENT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THE SPEED SENSOR AND HUB NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE TOTAL COST IS $635.00 FOR REPAIRS. I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS OF THIS SORT FOR MY YEAR OF CAR. I BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED.
THE POWER STEERING RACK HAD AN INTERNAL FAILURE WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND PARKED. WENT FROM WORKING JUST FINE TO COMPLETELY SHUTTING OFF WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY.
CONTINUED PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE COOLANT. A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO I HAD A COUPLE OF RECALLS FOR THE ENGINE COOLANT SENSOR FAULTING AND LEAVING MY FAMILY. STRANDED IN SUBZERO TEMPERATURES. THE CAR WAS SERVICED FOR THESE AND NOW IS LEAKING COOLANT I TO THE ENGINE THROUGH A FAULTY HEAD GASKET ISSUE FILLING MY OIL WITH COOLANT AND MAKING THE CAR OVERHEAT. THE CAR HAS 106,000 MILES ON IT AND IS SERVICED REGULARLY.
ON JAN 7TH AND 8TH I NOTICED WHEN I STARTED MY CAR THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK ONCE THEN STOP. BOTH DAYS I DROVE IT AND I HAD NO OTHER ISSUES. ON JAN 9TH WHEN I STARTED MY CAR THERE WAS NO JERK, BUT LATER THAT NIGHT WHEN I WAS GOING TO THE STORE I PULLED OUT AND THE STEERING WHEEL GOT REALLY HARD TO TURN ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HIT ANOTHER CAR AND THEN THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON. I ENDED UP JUST PARKING IT IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE SINCE I WAS TOO SCARED TO DRIVE IT AND DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MY CAR. I DIDN'T DRIVE IT THAT SUNDAY OR MONDAY. TUESDAY I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO DRIVE IT TO WORK AND IT WAS A PAIN, BUT THAT EVENING WHEN I GOT OFF AND STARTED MY CAR THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED TWICE AND EVERYTHING WAS BACK TO NORMAL AND I COULD TURN WITH EASE. THE NEXT DAY IT WAS STILL FINE, BUT THURSDAY MORNING THE SAME THING HAPPENS. THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND THE WARNING CAME BACK UP AND HAS BEEN ON SINCE THEN. I'VE READ SO MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR AND MODEL AND ALL ARE WONDERING WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL ON IT.
The steering gear failed while driving and I had a total loss of power steering. I had no warning when this fault occurred, and the only warning came after the event. The original part that malfunctioned is not available for inspection, nor was it inspected by any other agency prior to its replacement. Loss of power steering while driving is incredibly dangerous, thankfully no accident occurred due to this failure.
ON MONDAY 1-4-21 THE ENGINE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE LIGHT CAME ON, THE RESERVOIR WAS JUST BELOW MINIMUM SO COOLANT WAS ADDED 2 DAYS LATER THE CAR STARTS SPITTERING AND SPUTTERING AND WILL ONLY GO 5 MPH TO GET IT BACK UP 3 STREETS TO HOME. NO ENGINE LIGHTS HAD COME ON IN THE 2 DAYS SINCE FILLING. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP. I LOOKED UP RECALLS ON THIS CAR AND CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE JUST TO FIND OUT THAT TRI-COUNTY FORD HAD SERVICED THIS CAR FOR THIS RECALL (17S09) ON NOV. 2017 AND FEB 2018. THE ISSUE IS STILL THERE APPARENTLY BUT BECAUSE OF THE 12MNTH/12000 MILE WARRANTY I NOW HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THIS REPAIR FOR THE 3RD TIME. SO WHEN IS FORD GOING TO ACTUALLY FIX THE PROBLEM? I WAS TOLD TO KEEP MY RECEIPTS JUST IN CASE ANOTHER RECALL HAPPENS BUT IN THE MEAN TIME I AM LEFT WITH A 3RD REPAIR BILL AND A RENTAL CAR BILL. I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR FEEDBACK.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Fusion. The contact stated the vehicle began a jerking sensation while driving at various speeds and attempting to shift gears. The contact stated while attempting to drive 40 MPH or faster, the vehicle stalled, jerked, and then stalled again. The service vehicle warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission and torque converter needed to be replaced. I PURCHASED THE CAR 4 MONTHS AGO AND DISCOVERED SHORTLY AFTER IT WAS LEAKING COOLANT FROM A HOSE IN THE HEATING SYSTEM. THIS EXTERNAL COOLANT LEAK WAS A 500$ REPAIR. EARLIER THIS WEEK, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOR THE FIRST TIME WHEN I WAS IN TRAFFIC ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 20 MPH AND HEARD A DULL THUD (I WAS TOLD LATER THIS WAS PROBABLY MY ENGINE POPPING). I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO A SHOP TO HAVE THE CODE READ (P0302). I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AT 7 AM THE NEXT MORNING (14 HOURS AFTER THE LIGHT CAME ON). THEY DIAGNOSED THE CAR AND CALLED ME TO TELL ME THERE WAS AN INTERNAL COOLANT LEAK IN THE ENGINE AND THE ONLY WAY TO FIX THE CAR WAS A TOTAL ENGINE REPLACEMENT. THEY QUOTED ME AT 8500$ (MORE THAN THE AMOUNT I PURCHASED THE CAR FOR) AND TOLD ME MULTIPLE TIMES THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE I COULD DO TO FIX IT. I FOUND OUT AFTER MY FAMILY CHECKED OUT THE CAR THAT THE LEAK HAD CAUSED A CRACKED HEAD GASKET AND THE SPARK PLUGS IN THE CYLINDER WERE CONTAMINATED FROM THE COOLANT. THE FORD ECOBOOST 1.6L ENGINE HAS AN OPEN RECALL FOR CAUSING ENGINE FIRES BECAUSE OF AN INTERNAL COOLANT LEAK, BUT THEY REFUSED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE DESIGN FLAW IN THE ENGINE THAT CAUSE COOLANT LEAKS LED TO THE IRREPARABLE DAMAGE TO MY ENGINE. THEY TOLD ME I COULD DRIVE THE CAR OFF THE LOT SINCE I WAS NOT COMPLETING THE REPAIR THERE, BUT I COULDN'T MAKE IT OUT OF THE PARKING LOT AND HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO MY HOUSE. THE CAR WAS SHAKING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING, WHICH IT HAD NOT BEEN WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR IN. THE ENGINE IS NOT SAFE AND EVEN IF I WERE TO FIX IT THE DESIGN FLAW WOULD LIKELY CAUSE THE PROBLEM TO REOCCUR. FORD NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ENGINE IS UNSAFE AND PAY TO REPLACE IT WITH A NEWER ENGINE THAT DOES NOT HAVE THE SAME FLAWS.
MY AIRBAG SIGNAL IS ON AND I TOOK MY CAR TO SHEEHY FORD IN MARLOW HEIGHTS, MD. THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY AIRBAG IS MALFUNCTION ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE CURRENT RECALL FROM FORD. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW AN AIRBAG CAN MALFUNCTION WITHOUT ANY DAMAGE TO THE FRONT END OF THE CAR. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS SAFETY MEASURE SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD SINCE THEY ALREADY HAVE A RECALL OF THE SAME BRAND THAT IS IN MY CAR.

WARNING SIGNAL GOES OF AND ENGINE STARTS TO SHAKE PLUS FANS KICK ON. ENGINE LIGHT PLUS OVERHEATING COMES ON. LEAKS HAVE BEEN FIXED BUT THE MODULE WAS A RECALL AND THEY VERBALLY NO LONGER GRANT IT FREELY FIXED, BECAUSE OF TIME OVERLAPS.

I CALLED FORD AND THEY GOT ME IN THE FOLLOWING WEEK. AFTER A MONTH OF BACK AND FORTH WITH WARRANTY COMPANY, FORD CALLED ME TO SAY THE WARRANTY COMPANY DECLINED THE REPAIR BECAUSE THEY DON'T COVER DAMAGE DUE TO OVERHEATING. MY CAR HAS OVERHEATED OCCASIONALLY EVEN AFTER GETTING THE RECALL 17V209000 'FIXED.' FORD SAID THE REPAIR IS $9K. BATTERY DRAIN EVERYDAY RESULTING IN A NEED TO JUMP START EVERY TIME WE NEED TO USE THE CAR. WE HAD THE APIM REPLACED IN JULY 2020 AFTER FORD DIAGNOSED THIS AS THE PROBLEM. NOW AFTER FOUR MONTHS AND $1500.00 WE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE AND FORD IS SAYING THE BACKUP CAMERA IS THE CAUSE FOR THE POWER DRAIN, AND THEY ARE TELLING US IT WILL BE ANOTHER $1300.00 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THIS DEALER AUTONATION FORD VALENCIA, CA. HAS HAD THE CAR THERE FOR 5 WEEKS NOW AND BACK IN JULY 2020 THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 4 WEEKS!!!!! ON NOVEMBER 29TH 2020 I WAS DRIVING ON THE 40 FREEWAY WESTBOUND PASSING NEWBERRY SPRINGS I WAS GOING 70 MILES PER HOUR WHEN I LOOKED AT MY REARVIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED SMOKE SO I WAS PULLING OVER I HEARD A NOISE POP AND MY IDLE WENT PAST 8 BEFORE IT WENT INTO GEAR I OPENED THE HOOD AND THERE WAS TRANSMISSION FLUID EVERYWHERE THINKING THAT MAYBE A HOSE BROKE COME TO FIND OUT I HAD NO REVERSE AND NO GEARS I TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION SHOP WHICH COST ME A FORTUNE TO TOW MY CAR ON THE OTHER SIDE OF 15 FREEWAY SOUTHBOUND FORD INSTALLED THE PLASTIC PART INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION WHICH MELTED WITH THE HEAT OF THE ENGINE AND I HAD TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION AND REPLACING THE PLASTIC PART WITH A METAL PIECE SO THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF MY CAR DUE TO THE POPPING SOUND AND NO CONTROL OF MY CAR I NEED TO KNOW IF I COMPLAIN TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THE THIS FAULTY PART INSIDE MY TRANSMISSION I LOST WAGES AND COMPENSATION STRESS WITHOUT A VEHICLE FOR A MONTH THANK YOU I WOULD LIKE TO GET A CORRESPONDENCE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

I WAS DRIVING HIGHWAY IN SPORT MODE WHEN I COULD NOT MOVE SHIFTER OUT OF SPORT MODE SO GOT TO RED LIGHT TO TRY TO MOVE MY SHIFTER INTO ANOTHER GEAR DIDN'T WORK SO SHUT CAR DOWN BUT CAR COULDN'T RECOGNIZE IT WAS NOT IN PARK AND CAR WOULDN'T TURN BACK ON AND WOULD DRIFT BACKWARDS SO HAD TO PUT EMERGENCY BREAK ON SO MY CAR WON'T DRIFT DOWN HILL IN MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY. I HAD TO HAVE FLAT BED TOW CAR AWAY TO GARAGE, I SEEN A RECALL ON THE 2.5 FUSION AND ESCAPE SHIFTER CABLE BUT NOT ON 2.0 WHICH IS SAME EXACT PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED WITH MY 2.0 FUSION. I DO NOT HAVE RECALL NUMBERS ON HAND. .

I AM AT A LOST AND OUT OF FUNDS TO CONTINUE TO PUT IT IN THE SHOP.
