SIMILAR TO OTHER RECALLS, THE STEERING RACK ON MY VEHICLE IS DAMAGED AND CAUSES GRINDING WHEN TURNING THE WHEEL WHILE STATIONARY OR IN MOTION AT SPEEDS UNDER 35MPH, CAUSING STIFFNESS IN THE WHEEL AND SLIGHT LOCKING. THE FRONT PASSENGER CAR DOOR WILL NOT LOCK IN PLACE THE LATCH SEEMS TO BE BROKE AND NOTHING WAS DONE TO IT OUT OF THE NORM SO I HAVE NO CLUE WHY BUT IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE I CAN'T DRIVE WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OPENING AND CLOSING AS I BLOW THROUGH THE WIND THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE I WAS AT A 7 ELEVEN PARKED WHEN MY FRIEND CAME BACK TO THE CAR IT WOULD NOT STAY CLOSED. *TR

THE CONTACT'S SON HELD THE DOOR CLOSE AFTER THE DOOR FAILED TO LATCH SECURELY. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE THEN WAS TAKEN TO LARRY H. MILLER FORD MESA (460 E. AUTO CENTER DR, MESA, AZ 85204, (480) 569-7713) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/) AS A POSSIBLE REMEDY TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION LEAVING A WALMART, THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED AND NOW WONT CLOSE. AFTER SOME RESEARCH, I FOUND THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH IN THE 13-14 FORD FUSIONS AND OTHERS THAT WERE RECALLED BUT NOT FOR MY VIN? HOW IS IT THAT I'M HAVING THIS PROBLEM THAT IS SIMILAR TO ONE ALREADY COVERED BY A RECALL, BUT NOT MY CAR? *TR
FAILURE TO LATCH DOORS. IN AUGUST 2019 DRIVERS DOOR OPENS DURING DRIVING AND DID NOT CLOSE. SINCE A YEAR BEFORE THIS HAPPENS IN PASSENGERS DOOR AND DUE TO THE DIFFICULTIES OF GETTING MY MONEY BACK FROM VIVA FORD, I DECIDE TO FIX IT. HOWEVER, IN MAY,2020 THE SAME FAILURE HAPPENED IN BACK DRIVER SIDE DOOR. I FIXED IT BUT I WANT A REFUND OF THE EXPENSES I HAD INCURRED. *TR
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the stability control off and steering assist fault messages was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle loses power steering functionality. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V632000 (Steering) however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to Bob Thomas Ford West (5321 Illinois Rd, Fort Wayne, IN 46804) where they performed a diagnosis and informed him that the steering gear needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the steering gear should have been replaced under the initial recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
A PRIOR COMPLAINT HAS BEEN MADE RELATIVE TO THIS VEHICLES STEERING ON OR ABOUT 30 DAYS PRIOR TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHICH OCCURRED TO THE STEERING. ENROUTE TO MY EMPLOYMENT. AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE FOR APPROX 5 MIN INTO MY DRIVE I TURNED AROUND IN A LOCAL DRIVEWAY TO PROCEED BACK TO MY RESIDENCE ON A STRAIGHT PAVED HIGHWAY WITH WET, DARK, DOWN-GRADE CONDITIONS THE VEHICLES STEERING INDICATOR LIGHTS SUDDENLY CAME ON AND THE VEHICLES STEERING TURNED SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT WITH HARDLY NO BRAKING ABILITY CAUSING MY VEH TO LEAVE THE ROADWAY TRAVELING ON SLICK WET GRASS DOWN-HILL 150' FT. STRIKING SEVERAL TREES CAUSING SERIOUS PERMANENT INJURIES FRACTURING MY RIGHT FEMUR AND HIP, ALONG WITH SIGNIFICANT HEAD INJURIES TO MY FOREHEAD. (1) DRIVER OCCUPANT. THE DRIVER AND SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED, NO PASSENGER DEPLOYMENT. THE VEH HAD JUST BEEN ALIGNED ON 2 OCCASIONS WITH 4 NEW TIRES. THIS VEH NEEDS INVESTIGATED FULLY FOR MFG, DEFECTS AND RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF POSSIBLE DAMAGES OR STRIPPING OF THE LUG NUTS IF AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE TO REMOVE THE WHEELS FROM THE VEHICLE. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

BACK UP CAMERA MALFUNCTION. CAMERA DISPLAY WILL EITHER BE BLACK OR ZOOMED IN AND MIRRORED. HAS GOTTEN WORSE TO THE POINT THE CAMERA FAILS 99% OF THE TIME DUE TO THE HEIGHT OF THE REAR SEATS VISIBILITY IS GREATLY AFFECTED. HAPPENS WHEN PLACING CAR IN REVERSE.
2014 FORD FUSION, 1.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE, 92,500 MILES. COOLANT LEAKING INTO CYLINDERS CAUSING MISFIRE, WHITE SMOKE OUT EXHAUST. REPAIR SHOP RECOMMENDS REPLACING THE BLOCK, AT A COST OF ABOUT $5400.
MY BACK DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH CAME OPEN WHILE DRIVING. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY. THE DOOR WOULDN'T STAY CLOSED AND HAD TO REPLACE MY DOOR LATCH ACTUATOR.
VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK, FOUND THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING HAD BECOME DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND IS VERY LOOSE.
WHILE DRIVING THE STEERING WHEEL MOVES UP AND DOWN SIDE TO SIDE. HARD TO STEER WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE ITS LOOSE. TURING A CURVE OR DRIVING STRAIGHT WILL MAKE YOU NERVOUS. WITH THE STEERING WHEEL BEING LOOSE YOU HAVE TO HOLD A CERTAIN WAY SO IT WANT GO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION
WAS DRIVING IN A SMALL CITY AT ABOUT 20 MILES AN HOUR. GOING AROUND A SLIGHT BEND, MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER AND I ALMOST HIT INTO THE CURB ALONG SIDE THE ROAD. THE HILL ASSIST AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE, SHUT IT OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON. THE WARNING LIGHTS STAYED ON, BUT I REGAINED MOST OF THE STEERING BACK. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY HARD TO STEER AND THE WHEEL DOES NOT RETURN INTO PLACE SMOOTHLY AFTER TURNING. WHEN RETURNING INTO PLACE IT FEELS LIKE IT HAS RESISTANCE AND JERKS SLIGHTLY. I TOOK TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO ONLY HAD TIME TO LOOK OVER IT QUICKLY. HE TOLD ME THE CODE WAS FOR A STEERING ANGLE SENSOR AND AFTER RESETTING THE CODES, THE WARNING LIGHTS STAYED OFF BUT THE STEERING PROBLEMS DIDN'T GO AWAY. HE TOLD ME I HAD TO CONTACT A FORD DEALER TO READ THE CODE FURTHER. CONTACTED FORD AND THEY CANT FIT ME IN FOR TWO WEEKS. DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE A VEHICLE...
THE STEERING GEAR BOLTS AND INNER STEERING GEARBOX ON MY 2014 FORD FUSION ARE VISIBLY CORRODED. THE CORROSION ON THE STEERING YOUR BOLTS CAUSE THE BOLTS TO SNAP AND HEALTH IN CAUSED THE STEERING GEARBOX TWO SEPARATE. THERE SHOULD BE NO CORROSION ON THE INSIDE OF THE STEERING GEARBOX SINCE THE STEERING GEARBOX IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SEALED IN IT. I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY ON MAY 20, 2020 TO ASK THEM TO ADD MY VEHICLE TO THE RECALL LIST FOR THE STEERING GEARBOX THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE WHO I WAS SPEAKING WITH TOLD ME MY CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED FOR THE RECALL IN OCTOBER 2018 HOWEVER MY CAR STILL HAVE THE ORIGINAL BOLTS TO ASK THEM TO ADD MY VEHICLE TO THE RECALL LIST FOR THE STEERING GEAR BOLT THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE WHO I WAS SPEAKING WITH TOLD ME MY CAR HAD BEEN SERVICED FOR THE RECALL IN OCTOBER 2018 HOWEVER MY CAR STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL ALUMINUM TORQUE BIT HEAD BOLTS WHEN THE BOLTS SNAPPED IN MARCH 2020, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL SHOULD HAVE REPLACE THE BOLTS WITH HEX HEAD BOLTS. I TOOK A LOT OF PICTURES AND I HAVE VIDEOS STORED ON MY MOBILE PHONE SHOWING THE DAMAGES TO MY VEHICLES STEERING GEARBOX AND THE STEERING GEAR BOLTS. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SAID THAT ALL THEY CAN DO IS NOTE THAT THE BOLTS HAVE SNAPPED BUT WOULD NOT TAKE FURTHER RESPONSIBILITY IN THE MATTER OF ISSUING RECALL OR REPAIRING THE CURRENT BROKEN PARTS IN MY STEERING GEAR MOTOR BOX UNIT. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THESE ISSUES OR ADD MY CAR TO THE RECALL LIST SO THAT THE NECESSARY REPAIRS CAN BE DONE WITHOUT COSTING MYSELF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FOR SOMETHING THAT SEEMS TO ME TO BE CLEARLY A RECALL ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING AND RECEIVED A MESSAGE STATING THAT THERE WAS A POWER STEERING LOSS AND TO STOP; NOT SAFE.
THE AC CLUTCH FELL OUT OF MY CAR WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD CAUSING THE AC TO GO OUT. MECHANIC ADVISED THAT THE BOLT THAT WAS 'HOLDING' THIS PART IN WAS STILL THERE BUT CLUTCH WAS MISSING AND TORE THE BELT. SOUNDS LIKE A DEFECT.
VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY FOOT ON BRAKES IN REVERSE. MY SISTER TOUCHED THE BACK OF THE CAR WITH HER HAND I HEARD A LOUD BEEEEEEEP THEN NEVER HEARD ANY SOUND AGAIN. NOT EVEN WHEN THE KEYS ARE LEFT IN THE IGNITION OR WHEN I'M UNBUCKLED. NOT A SINGLE SOUND. THEN 3 MONTHS LATER THE BRAKES WERE STALLING SO I GOT NEW ROTORS AND PADS AND THEY STILL STALL/ SHAKE. AS IF THAT WASN'T ENOUGH NOW IT JUST DOESN'T START: I'VE GOOGLED ALL THESE PROBLEMS AND I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE. FORD SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO KEEP SELLING THE SAME BROKEN CARS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AL SPITZER FORD 3737 STATE RD, CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH 44223 , (330) 541-5664 WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V632000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,120.
I purchased the vehicle used from a local Mercedes dealership (April 2018) with multiple open recalls. One of the recalls was 16S42. On May 2, 2018, the vehicle was brought to a local Ford dealer where they "corrected" the open recalls. In February 2020, my wife was involved in a motor vehicle accident on the interstate. There was a construction zone that brought traffic to a stop and she was rear-ended by an SUV at speeds between 45-60 MPH totaling the vehicle while it was at a stop. She was the only occupant and was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the cash. The airbags did not deploy and the driver seatbelt did not lock causing her head to strike the steering wheel. She didn't remember if she lost consciousness or not, however, she was later diagnosed with a concussion. The vehicle has since been totaled and was taken into possession by the insurance company. I am unaware of any inspection of the seatbelt that was performed after the crash. I do possess photographs of the vehicle. There were no warning lights active prior to the crash.
The rearview camera on my 2014 Ford Fusion has been malfunctioning for several years. When the vehicle is placed in reverse, the camera image frequently does not display, displays intermittently, or fails while already in use. When the system does activate, the image is sometimes mirrored or reversed, making it difficult or unsafe to interpret the surroundings behind the vehicle. Overall, the camera functions correctly in approximately 1 out of 10 attempts, and cannot be relied upon for safe operation. This failure is unpredictable and occurs without warning, creating a safety risk due to the inability to consistently see pedestrians, children, or obstacles behind the vehicle. The vehicle was inspected by a Ford dealership for this issue; however, no remedy was provided because the vehicle was outside the warranty period. I am aware that Ford has issued recalls and extended coverage for rearview camera failures on later model year Ford Fusion vehicles (2015 and newer) exhibiting similar symptoms. My vehicle demonstrates the same defect behavior, despite being excluded based solely on model year. Although rearview cameras were optional equipment in 2014, this vehicle was factory-equipped with a camera, and the failure constitutes a safety-related defect rather than normal wear. I am requesting that NHTSA review whether this defect affects earlier model years, including the 2014 Ford Fusion.

2014 FORD FUSION ALL RECALLS HAVE BEEN DONE. WHILE TURNING A SLIGHT CORNER STEERING WHEEL LOCKED NO POWER STEERING FOR A SHORT DISTANCE, AFTER FINISHING THE CORNER STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO WORK AGAIN. I CAN NOT AFFORD A $2000 DOLLAR REPAIR BILL ON SOMETHING THAT IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE PART. RECALL THIS FORD BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. 82,000 KMS ON CAR WELL MAINTAINED NO OTHER ISSUES THUS FAR?

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD BE BETTER OFF GOING TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. JIM BURKE FORD 2001 OAK ST, BAKERSFIELD, CA 93301 WAS THEN CONTACTED AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO ANY RECALLS AND THAT REPAIRS WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR OUT OF POCKET. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED OR REBUILT AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $4,800. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
PURGE VALVE SOLENOID BAD CAUSING CAR TO SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. GOT CODE P144A
WHEN FUELING THE TANK VEHICLE WILL NOT STAY RUNNING. ENGINE STARTS AND THEN DIES. THIS GOES ON UP TO FIVE MINUTES THEN ENGINE STAYS RUNNING WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. CHECK CODES THERE IS P1450 STORED. OTHER TIMES IT HAPPENS AFTER DRIVING AND TURNING ENGINE OFF AND THEN RE STARTING A FEW MINUTES LATER, SOMETIMES THE ENGINE STUTTERS AND DIES AFTER DRIVING WHICH CAN BE IN A PARKING LOT OR MAKE TO THE HIGHWAY STOP AT A STOP LIGHTS WHICH GETS REALLY SCARY WHEN OTHER TRAFFIC IS AROUND. I LOOK UP MY VIN FOR RECALLS IT SHOWS NONE. IT STARTING HAPPENING A WHILE BACK JUST ONCE IN A WHILE ACCURRENCE, NOW EVERYTIME I FILL UP.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 63,000.
IN A PREVIOUS RECALL FOR CERTAIN FOR FUSIONS MANUFACTURED FOR 2013 MODEL YEAR TO 31-OCT-2013. WE FIND THAT THE EXACT ISSUE/PROBLEM FOR WHICH THE FUSION WAS RECALLED IS EFFECTING OUR 2014 IN THE SAME EXACT WAY. *DT*JB IN ALL OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, THE DOOR LATCHES HAVE A PAWL SPRING TAB THAT MAY BREAK. THIS CONDITION WILL TYPICALLY PREVENT THE DOOR FROM LATCHING. IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS WHERE THE DOOR IS ABLE TO BE CLOSED, THE DOOR MAY UNLATCH WHILE DRIVING, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. WHEN WE CALLED OUR LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WE WERE DIRECTED TO CALL FORDS CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS DEPARTMENT. WE WERE INFORMED OUR VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE THAT RECALL AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE IN LUE OF FIXING OUR ISSUE BY REPLACING THE DOORS LATCH. OUR PARTICULAR DOOR EFFECTED IS THE RIGHT, PASSENGER REAR. WE DID HAVE THE ISSUE REPAIRED BY A LICENSED AUTO SHOP. BUT THE FACT THAT THE SAME ISSUE, WHICH HAD A RECALL BY FORD, WAS TURNED DOWN AND NOT EVEN SUGGESTED TO HAVE A DEALERSHIP LOOK AT THE ISSUE AND REPORT BACK TO FORD CUSTOMER SOLUTIONS A COMPLETE INFORMED REPORT TO UNDERSTAND THE ISSUE AT HAND WOULD BE THE LEAST THEY COULD DO WITH REGARDS TO THE CUSTOMERS SAFETY. THE CURRENT RECALL CLEARLY EFFECTS MORE VEHICLES THAN FORD HAS EXPECTED. THIS IS WHY WE ARE REPORTING THIS ISSUE.
DROVE A SHORT DISTANCE TO MEET A FRIEND. WHEN I CAME OUT TO GO HOME MY DASH LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK, DOOR CHIME AND SEAT PRESETS INOPERATIVE. ALSO DETERMINED ON THE WAY HOME THAT I HAD NO TURN SIGNALS, WINDOW CONTROLS, HIGH BEAMS OR RADIO. LOOKED ONLINE TO DISCOVER THAT FORDS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE LOW KEY BATTERY WARNING HAD BEEN ON ALL DAY PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AS IT IS WINTER HERE AND WE ARE EXPECTING RAIN AND SNOW.
THE PASSENGER DOOR WONT LATCH ON. I OPENED IT TO GET OUT AND AS I CLOSED THE DOOR IT STAYED OPEN, I TRIED AGAIN AND IT DID NOT WANT TO WORK, I FIGURED THE LATCH MIGHT OF GONE BAD AND I CHECKED AND SEVERAL FUSION HAD RECALLS FOR THIS BUT MINE DID NOT.
THE CAR WILL PULSATE AND SHAKE WHEN DRIVING, THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON. YOU CAN'T ACCELERATE, LIKE THERE NO ACCELERATING IN THEN THE CAR CUT OFF, WHICH IS DANGER. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR LESS THEN A YEAR, I JUST PAYED CLOSE TO 1,000 BUCKS GETTING IT FIX FROM HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT MY WARRANTY DID NOT COVER. I HAD TO TAKE TO THE SHOP FOR THINGS THAT WAS OR RECALLED., IN NOW THIS. I THINK I WAS SELL A LEMON.

THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GENTILINI FORD, 555 JOHN S PENN BLVD, WOODBINE, NJ 08270, (609)861-0100, TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V632000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,300.
BUSHING WITH TRANSMISSION CABLE CAME OFF, WITH IT IN GEAR, EVEN THO SHIFTED INTO PARK, ITS A KNOWN RECALL ON OTHER MODELS BUT THIS ONE IS NOT RECALLED, AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS TO BE FIXED. NOT RIGHT
TURN SIGNALS SUDDENLY DID NOT FUNCTION/WIPERS ALSO NON -FUNCTION - STEERING WHEEL BUTTON CONTROLS - NON- FUNCTION DID SOME INTERNET RESEARCH AND SEVERAL HAD THE SAME ISSUE HAPPEN - SEVERAL FORD TECHS RESOLVED WITH CYCLING THE HIGH BEAMS ON THE VEHICLES- I DID THE SAME AND RESOLVED THE ISSUE AS WELL- THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND FELLOW FORD FUSION OWNERS NEED TO BE ALERTED THIS CAN HAPPEN SUDDENLY .
DIDN'T RECEIVE ANYTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WHATSOEVER.
ON 12/12/2019 WHILE BACKING DOWNHILL OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, SEVERAL OF MY 2014 FORD FUSION HYBRID'S WARNING SYSTEM ALERTS FLASHED ON INCLUDING: POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE, ADVANCEDTRAC FAILURE AND HILL START ASSIST FAILURE. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE ENGINE AND CONSULTED THE OWNER'S MANUAL WHICH ADVISED RESTARTING THE ENGINE AFTER WAITING AT LEAST 10 SECONDS. WHEN THE SAME SERIES OF ALERTS RECURRED, DESPITE THE LACK OF POWER STEERING I DROVE IT TO BORGMAN FORD MAZDA IN GRANDVILLE, MICHIGAN. TODAY, I WAS INFORMED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO AN ELECTRONIC MALFUNCTION/FAILURE WITHIN THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT "FIX" WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER ANY FORD MOTOR WARRANTY OR RECALL AND THAT THE ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR WAS $2200! CONTACTING FORD MOTORS' CUSTOMER SERVICE DIRECTLY PROVED FRUITLESS SINCE MY WIFE WAS TOLD THAT FORD MOTORS WAS UNABLE/UNWILLING TO OFFER ANY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE BUT BUT THEY DID STRONGLY "SUGGEST" THAT WE HAVE THE REPAIR COMPLETED BUT TO "SAVE OUR RECEIPTS" JUST IN CASE AT SOME FUTURE TIME A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC PROBLEM WAS ISSUED. SHIFT CABLE KEEPS COMING OFF
MY SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING BROKE TODAY INSPITE OF GETTING THE RECALL(18S20) DONE LESS THAN FIVE MONTHS AGO(23JULY19) AT TOWN AND COUNTRY FORD AT BESSEMER, ALABAMA. FORTUNATELY THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE AND WAS NOT IN MOTION. I FIGURED SOMETHING WAS OFF WHEN I THE GEAR SHIFTER MOVED MUCH SMOOTHER THAN NORMAL. WHEN I STEPPED ON THE GAS THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T MOVE. I REVVED A LITTLE MORE BUT NOTHING HAPPENED AND THEN I NOTICED THAT NONE OF THE GEARS SHOWED THAT THEY WERE ENGAGED IN MY GAGE CLUSTER. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND POPPED THE HOOD AND FOUND WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. MY SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING WAS NOT IN PLACE. I VERIFIED MY PREVIOUS SERVICE RECORD(ATTACHED) TO MAKE SURE THE DEALER DID THE RECALL REPAIRS AND IT'S WAS DONE. BUT THE NEW BUSHINGS SNAPPED OFF TOO.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK I LOST ALL POWER STEERING COMPONENTS OF MY CAR. POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT, HILLSIDE ASSIST FAULT, & SERVICE REQUIRED CAME UP ON DASH. 72K THIS HAPPENED AT. I HAD THE ORIGINAL RECALL DONE ON THE STEERING COLUMN BOLTS, BUT NOW, WHAT FORD SHOULD HAVE PREVENTED IN THE RECALL HAS HAPPENED.
A PART FOR MY CARS 'SHIFTING CABLE' HAS BEEN RECALLED SEVERAL TIMES, PRIOR TO THE RECALL I HAD TO PERSONALLY PAY OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE SAID SHIFTING CABLE. AT THIS TIME MY CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE SEVERE/DANGEROUS SHIFTING PROBLEMS. EX: WHEN I'M DRIVING AND IT'S NEEDS TO SHIFT GEARS THE CAR JERKS INCREDIBLY HARD. WHEN I STOP AT A STOP SIGN AND ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE I GET NOTHING LIKE THE CAR HAS SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL. PEDAL TO THE FLOOR CAR WILL NOT GO. AS YOU CAN SEE THIS CAN/COULD CAUSE A SEVERE WRECK, HURTING MY SELF MY CHILDREN, AND OTHER DRIVERS. THIS PART I CAN NOT AFFORD TO REPLACE AS EVERY TIME I TAKE THE VEHICLE TO FORD THE PIECE THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED IS NOT SPECIFICALLY THE PROBLEM BUT IN THE SAME AREA. I'M AT A LOSS ON HOW TO HANDLE THE SITUATION. I'M REACHING OUT WITH GREAT CONCERN.

ITS BEEN 3 YEARS SINCE I HAVE HAD MY CAR AND I HAVE NOT BEEN NOTIFIED BY FORD THAT I HAVE A RECALL. NOT BY PHONE, EMAIL, OR EVEN IN PERSON. THE ONLY REASON I KNOW I HAVE THREE IS BECAUSE OF MY FAMILY MEMBER WHO NOTIFIED ME. I HAVE CALLED MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS TO COMPLAIN AND GET IT FIXED BUT THEY DON'T SEEM TO WANT TO HELP. EVERY TIME I GO OR CALL THEY TAKE MY NUMBER AND THAT IS IT. SO I JUST KEEP GOING TRUSTING THEY WILL CALL ME BACK. AND THIS WEEK MY CAR STARTS TO HAVE TROUBLES AND MY TRANSMISSION HARD SHIFTS INTO SECOND GEAR AND I DAMAGE THE FRONT AND BUMPER OF MY CAR. I TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE SAYS THE PROBLEM COMES FROM THE RECALLED PART. AND NOW MY CAR IS PARKED UNTIL I CAN GET IT FIXED AND I HAVE CALLED FORD AND THEY WONT HELP.
MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED INA ACCIDENT 11/25/2019 WHICHI RESULTEED IN A DDER HITTING THE CAR. THE CARS BODY WAS REPAIRED AS WELL AS THE RADIATOR AND THEN MARCH 2020. THE CAR SHUT COMPLETED DOWN. I WAS ADVISED TO CHECK TO SEE IF THIS WAS RECALL BECAUSE THE CAR NEVER WORKED AFTER THE DEER HIT IT. THE COOLANT CONTIUED TO BACK INTO THE ENGINE CAUSING COOLANT INTRUSION INTO THE CYLINDERS. EACH TIME WE PUT MORE IN IT RAN OUT OR INTO THE ENGINE.
