THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES); ALTHOUGH, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V210000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
GOT IN MY CAR AND TURNED ON THE CAR WITH THE DRIVER DOOR NOT CLOSING, HAD TO DRIVE HOME WHILE HOLDING THE DOOR. DRIVER DOOR LATCH NOT LOCKING OR GOING UP.
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35MPH AND PROCEEDED TO SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A TURN, MY STEERING WHEEL FROZE AND I WAS UNABLE TO MAKE THE TURN, ALMOST CRASHING INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME THAT WAS AT A STOP. I WAS ABLE TO FORCE THE WHEEL TO TURN AT THE NEXT STOP LIGHT USING QUITE ABIT OF FORCE AND WAS ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE TO HAVE IT TOWED AWAY. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 47K MILES AND WE ONLY DROVE IT ABOUT 4K MILES LOCALLY WITHIN THE LAST YEAR. ALL MAINTENCE WAS KEPT UP AND NO OTHER ISSUES UNTIL NOW. DEALER QUOTED $2K FOR REPAIR. WE ARE CALLING FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AS ITS OUT OF WARRANTY AND DEALER SAID ITS NOT RECALLED IN THE FORD DATABASE BUT YET THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND THE RECALL LISTED MATCHED WHAT WE WERE DIAGNOSED WITH.
LEAVING HOME IN THE MORNING, CAR STARTED AND RAN NORMALLY, 1 BLOCK LATER, PRESSED BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. HAD TO REALLY STAND ON IT TO STOP THE CAR. BRAKE SYSTEM, ABS, TRACTION CONTROL, PARKING BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS AND MESSAGES ALL ACTIVATED. PARKING BRAKE LOCKED UP AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALER. REPLACED PARKING BRAKE SWITCH, REAR BRAKE PADS, AND RODENT-CHEWED WIRING. WORKED FINE FOR A COUPLE MONTHS. THEN, DRIVING CLOSE TO HOME ABOUT 35 MPH, BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. STANDING ON BRAKE PEDAL STOPPED CAR IN (ESTIMATED) DOUBLE NORMAL DISTANCE. ALL BRAKE-RELATED WARNING LIGHTS AND MESSAGES ACTIVATED, PLUS SERVICE REAR PARK ASSIST MESSAGE. PARKING BRAKE LOCKED UP. TOWED TO DEALER. SERVICE WRITER SAW LIGHTS AND MESSAGES, BUT TECHS LATER COULDN'T FIND MALFUNCTION, NO CODES SET. DEALERSHIP MADE NO REPAIRS, SENT ME HOME WITH A CAR I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE. WHEN ASKED IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, THEY PRETENDED NOT TO KNOW, AND DIDN'T PLAN TO CONTACT FORD ABOUT IT. IN MY OPINION, A SOFTWARE OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEM THAT CAUSES THE CAR TO LOSE BRAKING IS A PRETTY SERIOUS DESIGN FLAW. ACCORDING TO NTHSA DATABASE AND INTERNET FORUMS, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE, AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. AT THE VERY LEAST, GOOD-FAITH BUYERS SHOULD NOT BE LEFT HOLDING THE BAG.
I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THE MAIN PROBLEM IS THE SHIFTING. YOU WILL BE DRIVING AT 30 MPH AND WHEN IT SHIFTS UP IT FELLS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FALL OUT. IT WILL DO THE SAME THING WHEN YOU ARE SLOWING DOWN. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A WHILE IT IS JUST GETTING WORSE.
RECALL # 19S16, THE GEAR SHIFT CABLE DISCONNECTED AS I PARKED MY CAR IN THE GARAGE AND MY VEHICLE ([XXX] FORD FUSION 2014) KEPT MOVING FORWARD, STOPPING WITH THE WALL, AFTER I RELEASED MY FOOT FROM THE BREAK PEDAL. FORD IS SAYING THEY HAVE RECALL #19S16 BUT A REMEDY IS NOT AVAILABLE, THEY ADVISED ME NOT TO DRIVE IT, PHONE CALL REFERENCE #[XXX]. ON THE WEBSITE IT SAYS: THE REMEDY FOR THIS RECALL IS STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN MAY 28, 2019. AFTER MONTHS OF HARD SHIFTING AND SLIPPING, IN JUNE OF 2019...WITH ONLY 53,000 MILES ON THE CAR...THE TRANSMISSION POPPED OUT OF GEAR AND INTO NEUTRAL WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE, AND REFUSED TO GO BACK INTO GEAR. VEHICLE HAD TO BE COASTED, IN DANGEROUS FASHION AND IN TRAFFIC, OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. VEHICLE LATER BEGAN SHIFTING OKAY (TEMPORARILY) AND NO CAUSE OR FIX COULD BE FOUND. FORD MOTOR COMPANY SENT US ON OUR WAY IN THE VEHICLE. THEN IN NOVEMBER OF 2019, WITH ONLY 65,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE BEGAN CLUNKING AND SPEWING TRANSMISSION FLUID EVERYWHERE WHICH DRIVING AROUND THE CITY. OUR LOCAL FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS DETERMINED THE VEHICLE NEEDS A COMPLETELY NEW TRANSMISSION. FMC IS ALSO REFUSING TO COVER THE COST OF REPAIR NOW THAT THE VEHICLE IS JUST BARELY OUT OF WARRANTY....EVEN THOUGH PROBLEMS WERE REPORTED WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. ATTACHED DOCUMENTS, AND INCIDENT INFORMATION (SPEED, MILEAGE) ARE IN REFERENCE TO THE FIRST INCIDENT.

THE CONTACT CALLED BARBER FORD (LOCATED AT 640 E 8TH ST, HOLLAND, MI 49423, (616) 396-2361) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT ALSO CALLED BORGMAN FORD MAZDA (LOCATED AT 3150 28TH ST SW, GRANDVILLE, MI 49418, (616) 534-7651) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS A SALVAGE TITLE AND WAS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF. NO WARNING, IT JUST SHUT OFF. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. AFTER I PUT THE CAR IN PARK, IT STARTED BACK UP WITH NO PROBLEM.
FUEL WILL BE AT 43 MILES TO EMPTY AND FUEL LIGHT WILL COME ON THEN GO OFF THEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF WHEN IT'S SITTING
FORD RECALL 15S16 / NHTSA 17V210 OCCURRED IN MAY 2017 AND WE HAD DOOR LATCH BROKEN PAWL SPRING TAB REPLACED ON ALL 4 DOORS AS REQUIRE BY THE RECALL. IN JUNE 2019, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR FAILED AGAIN AND WE TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE. THEY REPLACED THE ONE DOOR LATCH MECHANISM AND WE WERE CHARGED $100 FOR THAT REPLACEMENT WHICH WAS THE DEDUCTIBLE ON OUR EXTENDED WARRANTY. WE OPENED UP A THREE CASES WITH FORD AND AUTONATION FORD DEALER IN HOUSTON. CASES 21829217, 21915875 AND 21893152. WE FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD REFUND OUR $100 AND REPLACE THE OTHER 3 LATCHES ONCE AGAIN, WHICH THEY REFUSE TO DO AND THEY CLOSED OUT THE CASES. VERBAL DISCUSSIONS WITH FORD AND WITH AUTONATION HAVE PROVED FUTILE. WHEN THE LATCH FAILS, WE CANNOT CLOSE THE DOOR SECURELY WHICH IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. WE HAVE ELDERLY PARENTS AND SMALL GRANDCHILDREN WHO RIDE IN THIS CAR QUITE OFTEN. SINCE THE PASSENGER DOOR LATCH FAILED IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR, WE THINK THE OTHERS WILL FAIL AGAIN AS WELL WHICH LEAVES US FEELING VERY UNSAFE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHEN THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, IT WENT INTO REVERSE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKES SEIZED WHILE REVERSING IN THE DRIVEWAY. A CHILD WAS RUNNING PAST AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT HAD TO USE EXCESSIVE FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND AVOID THE CHILD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GRAND PRIX FORD (701 E PALACE PKWY, GRAND PRAIRIE, TX 75050, (972) 975-9621) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A NEW SHIFTER CABLE WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MAY PAY OUT OF POCKET, BUT WOULD BE REIMBURSED BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.
DOOR FLEW OPEN WHILE PROCEEDING THROUGH A TURN AT A CITY INTERSECTION. DISCOVERED DOOR LATCH HAD BROKEN. RESEARCH REVEALED RECALL #17V210000 WHICH DEALERSHIPS REFUSED TO REPAIR UNDER THE RECALL NOTICE INDICATING THIS CAR'S VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NOTICE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SPECIFICALLY FOR 2014 FORD FUSION. UPON CALLING FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY ADVISED THE SAME BUT IF IT HAPPENS TO ANOTHER CAR IN THE SAME AREA, THEY MAY ISSUE ANOTHER RECALL AT WHICH POINT, THEY'D REFUND THE REPAIR COSTS. RECALL DETAILS INDICATE A COMPONENT WITHIN THE DOOR LATCHES MAY BREAK RESULTING IN THE DOORS NOT SECURING MISLEADING OCCUPANTS TO BELIEVE THAT A DOOR IS SECURE WHEN IT IS NOT. DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES AT CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE COST TO REPAIR WAS APPROXIMATELY $350.*DT*JB
SEATBELT LOCKS UP WHEN YOU TRY TO HOOK IT ON PASSENGER SIDE. VEHICLE NOT MOVING BUT RUNNING
THE DRIVER DOOR SWUNG OPEN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOOR, BUT IT DID NOT LATCH. I HAD TO DRIVE BACK HOME WITH AN UNLATCHED DOOR, HOLDING IT IN PLACE WITH ONE ARM TO PREVENT IT FROM SWINGING OUT AGAIN. *DT*JB
WHEN MY RIGHT OR LEFT BLINKER IS ON, MY HEADLIGHTS FLICKER MAKING IT HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT.
I HAVE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS/RECALLSON THIS VEHICLE. EVERYTHING FROM THE TRANSMISSION, TO THE RADIATOR, COOLANT, STEERING WHEEL COLMN, AND NOW THE AIR BAG SENSOR IS LIT AS 'ON'. I BELIEVE THIS IS NOT A TAKATA RECALL, HOWEVER IT IS, WHAT I BELIEVE JUST ANOTHER RECALL WAITING TO HAPPEN. WHEN THE CAR IS A LEMON,WHY SHOULD I BE CHARGED TO HAVE ANYTHING DIAGNOSED TO SEE THE 'CAUSE' OF ANY PROBLEM?
DOOR WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN DISCOVERED. IT APPEARS TO BE A SPRING OR GEAR MECHANISM BEHIND THE LATCH THAT ISN'T WORKING. ARTICLES SAY THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED BY RECALL, BUT MANUFACTURER SAYS IT ISN'T. NOTICING OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING DOOR LATCHES NOT LATCHING, SO THIS RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED. *DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION REMAINED IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION AND WOULD NOT SWITCH INTO THE DRIVE POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION BUSHING SHIFTER CABLE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. COCONUT POINT FORD (22400 S. TAMIAMI TRL, ESTERO, FL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 144,000.
I BOUGHT MY 2014 FORD FUSION FROM USED CAR LOT HAD IT FOR 2 YEARS I KEEP MAINTENANCE UP IN TIMELY MANNER. ABOUT 6 TO 8 MONTHS AGO MY CAR HAS NO POWER WHEN DRIVING IT JERKS LIKE I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AND WHEN CHANGING LANES I TRY TO SPEED UP I PRESS GAS PEDAL BUT CAR GOES NOWHERE ONLY HIGH REVVING SOUND TAKES A MINUTE TO PICK UP SPEED ITS USES ALOT OF GAS AND 4 MONTHS MY SEAT BELT HAS TROUBLE LOCKING IN BELT. I STILL HAVE AND DRIVE MY CAR TO AND FROM WORK BUT ITS ONLY GETTING WORSE
THERE IS A RECALL ON FORD MANUAL FORD FUSION BUT I KNOW OF TWO AUTOMATICS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. OURS IS A 2014 FORD FUSION AND WE HAVE A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE CLUTCH. JUST LIKE THE MANUAL RECALL.
THE REAR VIEW BACKUP CAMERA FAILS. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS TOTALING AT LEAST A DOZEN TIMES FOR REPAIR. THE DEALER HAS REPEATEDLY BEEN UNABLE TO REPAIR THIS PROBLEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPENED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHILE HOLDING THE DOOR CLOSED, THE CONTACT DROVE TO BOB SWOPE FORD (1307 N DIXIE DRIVE, ELIZABETHTOWN, KY 42701) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000.
PURCHASED THE CAR USED, WITH 77,600 MILES ON IT. AFTER OWNING IT A COUPLE DAYS, STARTED NOTICING AN ISSUE. WHEN PRESSING GAS TO GO, THE CAR HESITATES AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO STALL, SHAKES A BIT. WE TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER, WHO "RESET THE COMPUTER TO ADJUST TO MY SON'S DRIVING". DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. WAS TOLD CLUTCH ISSUE AND WOULD COST $1300 TO REPAIR!!!! NO WAY.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V362000 (POWER TRAIN) AND STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
BROKEN SHIFT SELECTION CABLE. SIMILAR TO OTHER RECALLS WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL (18V471000 AND 19V362000) . IT WAS STATIONARY, I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND REMOVE MY KEY BUT THE TRANSMISSION WAS SET TO NEUTRAL. IF THE CAR WAS ON AN INCLINE IT WOULD HAVE ROLLED AND CAUSED A CRASH.
THREE TIMES IN A THREE WEEK TIME FRAME THE CAR HAS FLASHED THE MESSAGE, TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK, WHILE IN DRIVE AND THEN COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. TWICE I HAVE THAT ON THE HIGHWAY ONCE HEADING SOUTHBOUND ON 95,BANOTHER ON 128NORTH AND THE 3RD ON A SIDE STREET. I'VE BEEN ABLE TO SAFTLEY MAKE IT OVER TO EITHER BD LATE OR SIDE OF STREET . HOWEVER THE PROBLEM/ CONCERN HAS YET TO BE RECTIFIED WITH KELLY FORD BEVERLY WHERE I BOUGHT VEHICLE
WATER LEAK FROM THE SUNROOF, CAUSING WATER STAINS OVER THE PASSENGER VISOR DOWN, DOWN THE DOOR FRAME, INTO THE PASSENGER FLOOR. THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO FIX OR LOCATE THE PROBLEM, LEAKS EVERY TIME IT RAINS.
CAR LOST POWER ON (NON-INTERSTATE) HIGHWAY AS WE WERE COMING UP TO A FOUR-WAY STOP. WHEN MY WIFE TRIED TO GET THE CAR MOVING AGAIN, IT BUCKED AND SPUTTERED. THE WRENCH LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE CAR'S DASH, WHICH MEANS "POWERTRAIN FAULT", ACCORDING TO FORD. THE CAR BARELY RAN AND WE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHUT IT OFF AND RESTARTED IT AFTER ONE MINUTE. IT THEN RAN BETTER AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET HOME. AFTER RESTARTING, THEN WRENCH LIGHT WENT OUT. IT HAS HAD A ROUGH IDLE SINCE THEN. THE DEALER FOUND NO STORED DTCS FROM THE INCIDENT, BUT AFTER SIGNIFICANT TESTING, THE CAR SET P0570 - UNABLE TO MAINTAIN IDLE SPEED. DEALER SAYS IT IS A FAILING ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY BUT THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS IT FAILED WITHOUT WARNING AND COULD HAVE PUT US IN SERIOUS DANGER IF WE WERE ON A CROWDED INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT ANYWHERE BUT ON IN-TOWN TRIPS AND MAYBE ON LIGHTLY-TRAVELED BACK ROADS. I HAVE BEEN ARGUING WITH FORD (THE COMPANY, NOT THE FORD DEALER) ON THE PHONE THAT THEY SHOULD COVER THE COST OF REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY. SO FAR I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANYONE ON THE PHONE WHO CAN MAKE THAT HAPPEN.
CAR WAS IN GARAGE, WOULD FREELY SHIFT OUT OF PARK BUT WOULDN'T CATCH ANY GEARS. NO LIGHTS GAME ON THE DASH. WHEN IT WAS IN PARK THE P WOULD LIGHT UP, BUT WHEN YOU MOVE THE SHIFTER NOTHING LIGHTS UP. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING GAME OFF AND WAS LOOSE. THIS IS A CURRENT RECALL BUT FOR SOME REASON DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN.
MY CAR CONTINUES TO SHIMMY AND SWAY WHEN DRIVING AT SPEEDS OVER 40 MPH AS IF I NEED AN ALIGNMENT. I HAVE CHANGED THE SWAY BAR LINKS, WHEEL BEARINGS HAD AN ALIGMENT AND PURCHASED NEW TIRES. TIRE, FIRESTONE AND THE DEALER AND NO ONE CAN SEEM TO TELL ME WHAT THIS ISSUE IS. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE WITH THE ISSUES I AM HAVING. THE ONLY OTHER THING LEFT TO CHANGE IS THE UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS BUT FIRST I HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUEL SYSTEM. I HAVE A 2014 FORD FUSION WITH 38,000 MILES ON IT. THE DRIVER'S DOOR WON'T CLOSE. THERE'S A SAFETY RECALL (15S16) ON THIS ISSUE. I TOOK THE CAR TO SURPRISE FORD (WITH THE DOOR ROPED SHUT), AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE RECALL DOESN'T COVER MY VIN. THEY TOLD ME TO OPEN A CASE WITH FORD, SO I DID CAS[XXX]. FORD TOLD ME THE SAME THING. HOW CAN THEY NOT COVER MY VIN (AND OTHERS LIKE MINE) IF MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE ISSUE? I THINK COVERAGE OF THIS WILL FORCE FORD TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND EXPAND THEIR RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. WHAT IF THE DOOR FLEW OPEN IN TRAFFIC? The trunk of my 2014 Ford Fusion SE has been opening up randomly on its own for at least 3 years now. The trunk opens up at completely random times and is not exclusively associated with use of the car. The trunk opens up overnight as much as when the car is in use, unlocked, locked, or when the trunk has been purposely opened by me. My safety is put at risk because it provides unlocked access to the contents of my trunk to the public. My safety is put at risk because it has opened while driving. The safety of others is put at risk because my trunk opening while driving could effect my driving such that other drivers in my vicinity will be put at risk. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. The vehicle or component has been inspected by the manufacturer and others and were not able to reproduce the problem. The other symptom of the problem is that the car will unlock and lock itself randomly while driving, indicated by the unlock/lock sound that the car makes. These symptoms and problems first appeared in 2019.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2014 FORD FUSION ON THE FREEWAY TWO WARNINGS POPPED UP ONTO MY SCREEN SAYING, POWER ASSIST STEERING FAILURE AND HILL CLIMB ASSIST FAILURE, WHICH RESULTED IN A FAILURE OF MY POWER STEERING WHICH LEFT IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR ME TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE AND AVOID ANY INJURY TO MYSELF OR OTHERS. AFTER HAVING TO DRIVE IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN THIS CONDITION, I AM TOLD THAT THEY CANNOT HELP ME OUT SINCE THERE IS NO DIRECT RECALL UNDER MY VIN NUMBER TO MATCH THIS CAR ALTHOUGH THERE ARE MULTIPLE STEERING RECALLS ON TOP OF THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OPENED FOR THIS EXACT CLAIM I AM HAVING. I HAVE BEEN PASSED BACK AND FORTH FROM THEIR MANAGEMENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH NO CARE OR SYMPATHY WHATSOEVER FOR SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN DEATH OR INJURY OF MYSELF OR ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD AT THE TIME. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR AND IT IS AT 91,000 MILES SO IT HAS SURPASSED ITS WARRANTY ON MILES AND I HAVE NO COVERAGE FOR THE REPAIRS WHATSOEVER.
FRONT DRIVER'S DOOR FAILED TO LATCH. THERE IS NO WAY TO SECURE THE DOOR CLOSED. THIS IS A LIFE-THREATENING DRIVING SAFETY ISSUE AND THEFT ISSUE THERE IS A RECALL ALREADY IN PLACE HOWEVER MY VIN FALLS OUT OF THE PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED RANGE. THE RECALL SHOULD BE REOPENED AND EXPANDED.
AFTER GETTING TO MY DESTINATION AND PULLING INTO A DESIGNATED PARKING SPOT, I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND GOT OUT. AS I WAS GETTING OUT, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL. I IMMEDIATELY GOT BACK IN AND APPLIED THE BRAKES. I CHECKED TO SEE IF I INDEED HAD PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND THE PARKING INDICATOR READ "PARK". AT THAT TIME, I ENGAGED THE PARKING BREAK TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING. FAULT: "VEHICLE CONTINUES TO MOVE AFTER BEING PLACED IN PARK." AFTER INVESTIGATING THE PROBLEM, I FOUND OUT THAT FORD HAD A RECALL (RECALL 18S20) FOR FAULTY SHIFT CABLE BUSHING. I CHECKED THE SHIFT CABLE BUSHING AND IT WAS BROKE. UPON CHECKING WITH THE FORD DEALER, THEY TOLD ME THE VEHICLE WASN'T COVERED BY THE RECALL DUE TO IT BEING MANUFACTURED AFTER THE RECALL ENDED. HOW CAN THE VEHICLE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AS THE RECALL IF IT WAS MANUFACTURED AFTER THE RECALL?
NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND A LEAK. THERE IS A RECALL # 18V169000 BUT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE THIS PARTICULAR FORD FUSION EVEN THOUGH THIS IS HAPPENING TO MY CAR.

VEHICLE WILL GO INTO SAFE MODE WHILE DRIVING AND WILL FORCE YOU TO PULL OVER AND SHUT DOWN VEHICLE REGARDLESS OF LOCATION, TRAFFIC, OR DRIVING CONDITION. WHEN YOU SHUT OFF CAR, YOU WAIT A FEW MINUTES, RESTART CAR AND THEN CAR DRIVES NORMAL AGAIN, UNTIL IT HAPPENS AGAIN.

I HAVE HAD 2 ACCIDENTS IN THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS. IT'S LIKE THE CAR IS GLIDES AND YOU HAVE TO PUT EXCESSIVE FORCE ON BRAKE TO GET VEHICLE TO STOP. YOU CAN ALSO BE COMPLETELY STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND THE CAR WILL LIGHTLY GLIDE BUT TO THE POINT U DON'T NOTICE THE CAR IS MOVING. THE 1ST ACCIDENT THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED I WASN'T EVEN DOING 2 MPH. I WAS SITTING IN TRAFFIC WITH FOOT ON BRAKE AND CAR GLIDED. MILES AT TIME WAS LESS THAN 50,000.
