TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY LOOSE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT DROVE THE VEHICLE VERY SLOWLY TO THE DEALER (RODMAN FORD IN FOXBORO, MASSACHUSETTS) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CENTER SCREW OF THE STEERING COLUMN FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE ENTERING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT'S KNEE BUMPED THE STEERING WHEEL AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME DETACHED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NEWBERG FORD (3900 PORTLAND RD, NEWBERG, OR 97132, (503) 538-2171) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
THE WIRING TO THE DIGITAL SCREEN HAS SHORTED OUT SOMEHOW NOW I HAVE TO GO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY ON A 3 YEAR OLD CAR WITH 72,000 MILES ON IT
MY CAR WAS MAKING A LOAD NOISE SO I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO REFERRED ME TO THE DEALER BECAUSE OF THE COMPLEXITY OF THE VEHICLE. TOWED THE CAR TO MORGAN HILL FORD STORE IN MORGAN HILL CALIFORNIA AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE WAS NO GOOD, THAT THE MOTOR BOLTS DISLODGED AND MELTED CAUSING THE BOLTS TO SHRED; THE DEALER SERVICE PERSON RYAN ADVISED THAT THE SHREDDED METAL GOT INTO THE OIL AND WENT THROUGH MY ENTIRE ENGINE CAUSING THE ENGINE FAIL. MY CAR WAS ONLY 3.5 YEARS OLD, 90,000 MILES BUT FREQUENT OIL CHANGES WITH THE EXTENDED MAINTENANCE PACKAGE. THERE WAS NO HINT THAT THE CAR WAS HAVING ISSUES, NO ENGINE LIGHT, NOR THE CHECK OIL LIGHT. I HAVE A 2013 FORD FUSION THAT WAS RECALLED FOR FAULTY ENGINE BOLTS.
2014 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO EMERGENCY BRAKE INTERMITTENTLY DISENGAGES WHILE VEHICLE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IDLES IN NEUTRAL. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT WARMER POWER ON BY IT'S SELF. THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM DASH DISPLAY FAILED TO ALLOW DATA ENTRY. *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PLACE THE SHIFT LEVER INTO PARK, THE SHIFTER CABLE BECAME DISENGAGED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SHIFT LEVER WOULD SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL OR REVERSE, BUT FAIL TO SHIFT INTO THE PARK POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER (VELDE FORD, 2200 N 8TH ST, PEKIN, IL 61554, (888) 221-2804) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *TT *TR
WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL, NECESSITATING RE-START AND NORMAL OPERATION. REPLACEMENT OF PART # BU5Z*9F972*B SENSOR FIXED THE PROBLEM.
I PURCHASED A NEW-TO-ME 2014 FORD FUSION FROM GERMAIN FORD IN COLUMBUS OHIO ON 2/2/18. ON THE 2ND DAY I HAD THE CAR THERE WAS A LIGHT SNOW STORM, A FEW INCHES, I AM A WONDERFUL DRIVER WITH A CLEAN RECORD. I WENT TO PULL OUT OF MY STREET AND I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR. I THOUGHT IT WAS ICE UNTIL I STOPPED AT A LIGHT & MY WHEELS STARTED SPINNING AND I COULD HARDLY MAINTAIN CONTROL. I FELT LIKE THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TAKING OVER AND I WAS FIGHTING IT AS I KEPT SLIDING. THIS WENT ON THE ENTIRE TWO MILES TO WORK. I'D NEVER BEEN MORE TERRIFIED. I'VE DRIVEN IN SNOW AND ICE FOR 20 YEARS AND THIS IS MY 6TH FORD AND I HAD NEVER BEEN SO AFRAID OF A CAR. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS A ONE TIME ISSUE, MAYBE IT REALLY WAS JUST A STRANGE ONE TIME THING? BUT ON SUNDAY 3/25/18 IT WAS RAINING HERE IN COLUMBUS AND I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40-45 MPH ON A WET ROAD AND MY CAR STARTED ACTING LIKE IT DID IN THE SNOW, BUT THIS TIME I LOST TOTAL CONTROL OF THE CAR TC CAME ON AND ONCE AGAIN I COULD NOT CONTROL MY CAR AND THE WHEEL JERKED TO THE RIGHT CAUSING US TO SPIN OUT OF CONTROL. THE BACK PASSENGER TIRE HIT A CURB, WE SPUN AROUND AND THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE HIT THE CURB AND WE WENT INTO A GRASSY AREA COMING PRETTY CLOSE TO A POLE AND AN APARTMENT BLDG. I ENDED UP WITH A FLAT TIRE, BENT RIM, I NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT, THE PAINT IS SCRATCHED UNDER MY CAR, AND I NEED A NEW BARING ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE. ALSO - I FOUND OUT THERE WAS AROUND 5 INCHES OF WATER IN MY TRUNK DUE TO A BROKEN SEAL. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER & I BEGGED THEM TO FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG. RIGHT NOW THEY CLAIM NOTHING IS WRONG BUT THEY ARE FIXING THE LEAK & THE DAMAGE. I PAID FOR A NEW TIRE. I AM BEYOND TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THE CAR AGAIN. I HAVE NEVER LOST CONTROL OF A CAR BEFORE AND NOW I HAVE IN THIS CAR - TWICE IN LESS THAN A MONTH. SOMETHING IS VERY VERY WRONG. THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP OR SUGGESTIONS. I JUST WANT A SAFE CAR.
MY VEHICLE KEEP STALLING AND CUTTING OFF MID DRIVING. ITS HAPPENED ON TBE EXPRESSWAY AND MID MOTION ON THE REGULAR STREET.AFTER I RESTART THE CAR, IT STALLS BUT START BACK UP. SOMETIMES IT DRIVES PERFECTLY FINE, OTHER TIMES IT SHUTS DOWN IN THE MIST OF DRIVING, SOME DAYS THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OTHER TIMES THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHTS ON. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING OFF AND ON FOR MONTHS. ITS BEEN HARD TO GET A DIAGNOSIS SINCE THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES AND GO. MY BACK MIDDLE SEATBELT IS STUCK. IT APPEARS TO BE LOCKED UNDERNEATH THE SEAT.
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE STEERING WHEEL CAME LOSE AND CAR VEERED OFF INTERSTATE. I REGAINED CONTROL BUT STEERING WHEEL IS STILL LOSE. STEERING IS STILL LOSE AS REPAIRS WILL COST IS BEYOND MY MEANS AT THIS MOMENT.
THIS CAR JUST FELL APART AT 130000 MILES. THE PURGE VALVE FAILED 3 TIMES. THE ABS SPEED SENSOR PIGTAIL FAILED. THE ENTIRE PCM UNIT BOARD SHORTED UN REPAIRABLE. THE MAP SENSOR FAILED. FORD HAS CHARGED ME 3 TIMES FOR DIAGNOSIS AS FAILURES WERE LESS THEN 4 DAYS APART SO TOWED BACK EACH TIME. A PCM COMPLETE FAILURE ON A CAR NOT EVEN 4 YEARS OLD WITH ONLY 130000 MILES IS AN ISSUE AS THEY WANT AROUND $1000 FOR REPLACEMENT WHEN IT SHOULD NOT BE FAILING. ADD IN ALL THE PREVIOUS RECALLS THIS CAR HAS BEEN A LEMON FROM THE START. I AM A LONG TIME FORD BUYER BUT THIS HAS SOURED ME. THE ABS PIG TAIL TRIGGERED ALL SAFETY LIGHTS DROPS POWER STEERING AND POOR BRAKING.
STEERING DIFFICULT. HILLSIDE ASSIST DEACTIVATED. ANTILOCK BRAKES LIGHT ON. STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT ON. HAPPENED DRIVING IN WET CONDITIONS AT 55MPH ON COUNTY HIGHWAY. NO BUMPS OR CURVES. LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. AT THE SAME TIME STEERING BECAME HARDER AND A LESS RESPONSIVE
MY CAR STARTED STALLING AFTER EVERY GAS UP, FOUND IT TO BE THIS PART FORD OEM EMISSION SYSTEM-HOSE ASSEMBLY DG9Z9D289D* I HAVE TRIED TO GET THIS PART BUT I AM TOLD IT IS ON BACK ORDER FROM FORD AND THEY WON'T START SENDING THESE OUT UNTIL MARCH OF 2018 - THIS ISSUE CAUSES PRESSURE IN MY GAS TANK SO MUCH THAT THE PRESSURE MAKES A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE TANK AND IF YOU PRESS OPEN THE CAP LESS GAS INPUT IT RELEASES PRESSURE LOUDLY - SECONDLY WHEN THIS HAPPENS THE CAR WILL NOT IDLE AND STALLS OUT WHEN YOU LET OFF THE GAS - ON THE HIGHWAY AND EVERYWHERE WHEN YOU LET OF THE GAS!!!AND WON'T RE-START UNTIL AFTER 4 OR MORE TRIES. THIS IS DANGEROUS!!!! IS MY GAS TANK GOING TO EXPLODE!!! OR WILL I DIE AFTER SOMEONE HITS ME WHEN IT STALLS OUT? *TT THE CONSUMER STATED THAT SHE REPLACED EVAPORATIVE PURGE VALVE AND IT CORRECTED. *TR
POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, AND I WAS ALMOST HIT HEAD-ON BECAUSE I COULDN'T TURN MY VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AT THE TIME.
VERY DANGEROUS SAFETY HAZARD WITH MY 2014 FORD FUSION. I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CAR STALLING ON ME. TYPICALLY IT HAPPENS WHEN I AM LEAVING A PARKING LOT OR GAS STATION, PULLING AWAY FROM A STOP SIGN/LIGHT, OR REVERSING FROM A PARKING SPOT AND SHIFTING BACK INTO DRIVE. IT WILL SPUTTER, THE RPM NEEDLE RAPIDLY FLUCTUATES ABOVE 1 AND UNDER 1, AND THEN WILL JUST GO TO 0. AT ALL TIMES I AM DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, BUT NUMEROUS TIMES I WAS EITHER DRIVING INTO A BUSY STREET OR IT STALLED IN AN INTERSECTION WHERE I OR OTHER PEOPLE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 10 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS, BUT IT IS VERY RANDOM. SOME DAYS WILL GO BY WITHOUT A HITCH AND OTHER DAYS IT WILL HAPPEN 2 OR 3 TIMES. MOST OF THE TIME WHEN IT HAPPENS, IT HAPPENS AGAIN RIGHT AFTER. SO I WILL PUT THE CAR IN PARK, COMPLETELY SHUT IT OFF, AND TURN IT BACK ON, IT WILL DRIVE FOR LIKE 5-10FT AND THEN DO IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND AN ISSUE. THE DID A FEW TEST DRIVES AND LET IT SIT AND RUN FOR AWHILE, AND THE CAR DIDN'T STALL. THERE IS NO ENGINE LIGHT ON, SO THEY SAID THEY CAN NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, UNLESS THEY SEE IT FOR THEMSELVES. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING TO ME AS I AM SCARED TO DRIVE, KNOWING THAT IT COULD STALL AND I COULD GET IN AN ACCIDENT. I ALSO DRIVE FOR A RIDE SHARING COMPANY, AND IT IS TOO RISKY FOR ME TO PICK UP PASSENGERS KNOWING SOMETHING COULD HAPPEN, AND I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED RIGHT AWAY AS I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THIS PROBLEM, WHICH MEANS THERE A A NUMBER OF FAULTY CARS ON THE ROAD THAT CAN JUST STALL OUT AT ANY MOMENT AND CAUSE FATAL ACCIDENTS. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR! THIS HAS BEEN AN ON-GOING ISSUE THAT HAS GRADUALLY GOTTEN WORSE, AND THANKFULLY I HAVE MANAGED TO STAY ACCIDENT FREE. (I HAVE ATTACHED OTHER COMPLAINTS)

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V167000 (STEERING); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FORD DEALER (GUSTAFSON FORD, 112 N LEXINGTON AVE, KEWANEE, IL 61443, (309) 852-2107) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
AC COMPRESSOR STOPPED WORKING
VEHICLE DOOR SPRING. DOOR MAY COME OPEN AT ANY GIVEN TIME WHILE DRIVING OR NOT DRIVING.THERE'S A RECALL ON THIS CAR.
WIPER BLADES HAVE DISCONNECTED FROM THE WIPER ARM WHILE IN USE, ON FIVE SEPARATE OCCASIONS. I'VE USED MULTIPLE BRANDS, INSTALLED BY SERVICE PROFESSIONALS AT FORD, PEP BOYS AND ADVANCE AUTO PARTS, AND THE PROBLEM HAS REPEATED. COWORKER WITH 2015 FORD FUSION HAS HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH ORIGINAL BLADES. PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, LOW SPEEDS AND WHILE STOPPED AT TRAFFIC LIGHT.
ONCE I REACHED ABOUT 47,000 MILE I EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH MY STEERING WHERE AT LOW SPEEDS IT BECAUSE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO MOVE MY STEERING WHEEL. OTHER FORD FUSIONS HAD A RECALL FOR A BOLT THAT WOULD CORRODE FROM ROAD SALT OR WATER AND THAT IS WHAT HAS OCCURRED BUT THIS SPECIFIC MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL SO I NOW NEED TO PAY FOR T WHICH STINKS. THE BOLT WAS CORRODED THOUGH MOST LIKELY FROM ROAD SALT SINCE IT IS WINTER.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS DO NOT GO FAST ENOUGH TO CLEAR WINDSHIELD AND VISABILITY IT NIL. THIS IS A DISASTER IN THE MAKING, EVERY TIME IT RAINS AT A MODERATE PACE OR MORE, I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND WAIT FOR THE RAIN TO LET UP. ONCE I WAS ON A COUNTRY ROAD AND WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED. FORD NEEDS TO REPLACE THE MOTOR TO INCREASE SPEED OR DO SOMETHING ELSE BEFORE SOMEONE DIES
MY 2014 FUSION HAD ABOUT 47,000 MILES WHEN IT SUDDENLY LOST POWER TO ALL BUT THE IGNITION AND LIGHTS. AFTER ATTEMPTING TO FIND THE REASON AT 2 DEALERSHIPS IT WAS FOUND THAT THE WIRING HARNESS THAT LEADS TO THE BCM MODULE WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED AND IT BASICALLY BROKE. THE WIRING HARNESS WAS ON BACK ORDER OVER 35 DAYS SINCE APPARENTLY THERE ARE MANY MORE OF THESE PROBLEMS ON THE 2014 FUSION ASSEMBLED AT THIS PLANT. THE REPAIR FOR THIS FORD-BUILT ISSUE WAS $2,655.03 AND FORD BASICALLY TOLD ME TO STICK IT WHEN ASKED FOR A RENTAL OR LOANER CAR WHILE MY CAR WAS IMMOBILIZED FOR 40 DAYS. AUTO RENTAL WAS ANOTHER $1,000 FOR THE MONTH. FORD CS REPS IN DEARBORN BASICALLY SCOFFED AT ANY ATTEMPT TO HAVE MERCY ON ME AND INCREASED THE PART PRICE SINCE IT WAS HARD TO FIND. I'M SURE THERE ARE MANY MORE IMMOBILIZED FUSION'S, OR MANY THAT SOON WILL BE. THE CAR ALSO HAS AN ALIGNMENT ISSUE THAT CANNOT BE CORRECTED EVEN THOUGH THE CAR HAS NEVER BEEN STRUCK. IT "FEATHERS" THE REAR TIRES QUICKLY AND I'VE GONE THROUGH 2 SETS OF 50,000 MILE TIRES IN 30,000 MILES. NEVER WOULD I TELL ANYONE TO OWN SUCH A FINE VEHICLE.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILED, MAKING THE CAR RANGE FROM BEING DIFFICULT TO STEER TO NOT BEING ABLE TO STEER AT ALL. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED AND WOULD NOT TURN. LUCKILY I WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. IN TIMER LEADING UP TO THIS THE STEERING WOULD SOMETIMES TAKE ON A HEAVIER THAN NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC AND BE NOTCHY. I WOULD ALSO SOMETIMES HEAR A WHINING NOISE WHEN TURNING. ALL OF THIS WAS LEADING UP TO A TOTAL FAILURE WHICH THANKFULLY OCCURRED IN MY DRIVEWAY.
STEERING WHEEL IS LOOSE AND FEELS LIKE IT WILL COME OFF.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, IT FAILED TO MOVE. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE GEAR INTO PARK, BUT THE TRANSMISSION REMAINED IN NEUTRAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFT CABLE BECAME DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. GRAHAMS AUTO MALL (1515 WEST 4TH ST, MANSFIELD, OH) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON I-95 AT ABOUT 70 MPH, I RECEIVED STEERING FAULT SERVICE NOW MESSAGE AND IT WENT AWAY AFTER I HIT OK. THE CAR WAS STILL CONTROLLABLE AS I DIDN'T HAVE HARD TIME STEERING LEFT AND RIGHT. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANY UNUSUAL ACTIVITY OF THE CAR. ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER I GOT THAT CAUTION MESSAGE, I STOP TO GAS THE CAR. WHEN I STARTED THE ENGINE BACKUP, I RECEIVED THE SAME MESSAGE PLUS THREE NEW ONES. THEY ARE, STEERING LOSS STOP FOR SAFETY, HILL START ASSIST UNAVAILABLE, AND SOMETHING ABOUT THE ADVANCTRAC. I ENDED UP TOWING IT ALL THE WAY BACK TO NORFOLK FROM EMPORIO. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE THAT HAPPENED WHEN MY CAR WASN'T ON THE HIGHWAY. BUT THE THE TOWING COST IS REALLY HURTFUL. SAD PART IS, I JUST GOT MY CAR SERVICED PLUS MULTI-POINT INSPECTION BY FORD DEALER ON DEC 20TH, 2017. EVERYTHING WAS REPORTED AS GOOD, APPARENTLY NOT.
MY CAR IS STALLING AFTER IT IS DRIVEN FOR 15-20 MINS. ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, IF IT IS STARTED WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR, IT ALWAYS STALLS OUT. I SEE THAT FORD FUSION HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE THAT WAS RECALLED. THIS IS THE NOTE THAT I SAW ONLINE FOR THE FORD FOCUS RECALL, "FORD IS RECALLING NEARLY 1.3 MILLION FOCUS COMPACT CARS IN THE U.S. BECAUSE A FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM CAN CAUSE THE ENGINES TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE RECALL COVERS CARS FROM 2012 THROUGH 2018 WITH 2-LITER FOUR-CYLINDER ENGINES." I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY KEEP DIAGNOSING IT AS A BAD FUEL SENSORS THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED. WELL, I'VE REPLACED THEM ALREADY AND THE SAME PROBLEM KEEPS HAPPENING. TIRES WEAR OUT PREMATURELY AT 20-25K MILES IN MY CASE EVERY 10-12 MONTHS. TIRES HAVE BEEN REPLACED EVERY 10-12 MONTHS SINCE CAR WAS NEW. THIS IS NOT NORMAL BY ANY MEANS. SOMEONE IS GOING TO HAVE A BLOWOUT DUE TO THE EXTREMELY FAST WEAR ON THE TIRES. THIS COULD SEVERELY INJURE OR KILL SOMEONE. TIRE PICTURE ATTACHED IS ONE YEAR OLD AND HAS BEEN TYPICAL OF ONE YEAR TIRE WEAR SINCE CAR WAS BRAND NEW.
PULLING OUT OF DRIVE WAY AFTER IT WAS STATIONARY OVER NIGHT. I GOT A "STEER LOSS STOP SAFELY" MESSAGE ALONG WITH HILL ASSIST AND TRACTION CONTROL ALL FAILING AT THE SAME TIME. SAFETLY CONCERN AS I CANNOT TURN THE WHEEL LUCKILY IT HAPPENED AT HOME NOT ON THE HIGHWAY.
LOUD CREAKING SOUND WHICH SOUNDS LIKE PARTS BREAKING FROM LOWER FRONT AREA OF THE CAR WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED MOST OF THE WAY TO EITHER THE LEFT OF THE RIGHT. FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS A SIGN THAT THE RACK & PINION WILL FAIL. SUDDEN LOSS OF THE POWER ASSIST COULD SURPRISE OR OVERPOWER THE DRIVER, LEADING TO A CRASH. BREAKAGE OF THE STEERING GEAR MIGHT CAUSE LOSS OF STEERING FUNCTIONALITY, LEADING TO A CRASH AS WELL.

THE SCENARIO IS THAT AFTER DRIVING IT ON MY COMMUTE (40 MILES / 1 HOUR DRIVING) AND THEN STOPPING QUICKLY TO GRAB FOOD, WHEN I LEAVE THE PARKING LOT IT WILL SHUT DOWN. I PULL OVER AND THEN START IT BACK UP AND DRIVE AWAY. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES.

I NOTICED MY STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE AND WOBBLING. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND INFORMED THEM I HAD HEARD OF SOME ISSUES WITH THE FORD FUSION STEERING WHEEL, THEY LOOKED AT IT AND SAID A NUT HAD COME LOOSE AND THEY TIGHTENED IT.
MY HUSBAND AND I WERE GETTING READY TO LEAVE TOWN FOR A FRIENDS WEDDING, DROPPED OUR SON OFF AT SCHOOL, WENT TO A GAS STATION TO FILL UP, STARTED THE CAR UP AND WENT TO LEAVE AND COULDN'T MOVE THE CAR OUT OF PARK. CALLED A TOW TRUCK, COME TO FIND OUT MY 3 YEAR OLD CARS TRANSMISSION CABLE SNAPPED. I HAD TO PAY $700 TO FIX IT. WHEN I LOOKED ONLINE, THIS ISN'T SOMETHING NEW FOR THESE CARS. IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED.
REAR MIDDLE SEATBELT RETRACTOR IS FAULTY AND WILL LOCK AND NOT RETRACT IN MULTIPLE CONDITIONS NOT LIMITED TO TRAPPING A CHILD IN THAT SEAT, AND LOCKING THE SEAT IN THE DOWN POSITION IF LOWERED. THERE ARE MULTIPLE REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE AS WELL AS ACKLOWDGEMENT FROM FORD ABOUT THE ISSUE. BUT THEY WILL NOT REPAIR OR REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY
I HAD TO HAVE MY 2014 FORD FUSION REPAIRED ON 11/14/17 DUE TO THE STEERING WHEEL COMING LOOSE. I GOT INTO MY CAR TO DRIVE HOME ON 11/13/17 AND NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL JIGGLED. I DROVE 60 MILES HOME. I TOOK IT TO OUR MECHANIC THE NEXT DAY AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS BARELY HANGING ON.
VEHICLE IS EMITTING A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE. THE INSIDE SMELLS AND THE GARAGE SMELLS OF GASOLINE. THERE IS NO GASOLINE DRIPPING ON THE GROUND.
