BATTERY WAS INITIALLY NOT TAKING A CHARGE, THEY SAID IT WAS A DEFECTIVE MODULE AND REPLACED BOTH THE MODULE AND THE REAR BACK UP CAMERA WHICH THEY SAID WAS DRAINING THE BATTERY. IN THIS CASE THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 1/2 WEEKS BEFORE RETURNING IT TO ME .. ABOUT 4 DAYS AFTER I GOT IT BACK THE CAR STARTED SHUDDERING DURING A REVERESE POSITION IN A PARKING LOT AND DIED.. IT STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN.. THE NEXT DAY IT LOST ALL ACCELERATION AT A LOWER SPEED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, ONCE AGAIN IT DIED BUT STARTED RIGHT UP AGAIN. IT DID THIS TWO MORE TIMES ONCE ON THE FREEWAY THE OTHER TIME DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOME. FORD HAS HAD THE CAR FOR 5 DAYS (SINCE 2/19/2016) NOW AND SAYS THERE IS NO CODES OR HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM..
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE REVERSING THE VEHICLE FROM WITHIN THE GARAGE, IT HESITATED AND STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN TWICE, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V875000 (AIR BAGS), BUT WAS UNCERTAIN AS TO WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WOULD SUPPLY THE PARTS TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING FOR THE MANUFACTURER TO DETERMINE A SOLUTION TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT YET ESTABLISHED A RECALL NOR A SERVICE CAMPAIGN TO PROVIDE A REMEDY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AT APPROXIMATELY 3 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V597000 (AIR BAGS, SEAT BELTS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,600.

YOU MAY OCCASIONALLY EXPERIENCE LOW/SOFT BRAKE PEDAL AT TIMES OF ENGAGEMENT, AFTER HITTING A BUMP, DIP, OR TURNING ON A CURVED ROAD. BRAKE PEDAL MAY BE PUSHED DOWN TO THE FLOOR WITH LITTLE TO NO BRAKING POWER.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS BECOMING DIFFICULT TO SHIFT FROM PARK INTO DRIVE, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO HAVE TO MANEUVER THE SHIFTER. MULLINAX FORD OF MOBILE (7311 AIRPORT BLVD, MOBILE, AL 36608, (888) 241-4640) AND SANDY SANSING FORD LINCOLN (27180 US-98, DAPHNE, AL 36526, (251) 626-7777) WERE BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE PART WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A LOANER VEHICLE OPTION WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE TO ADDRESS THE RECALL REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. BALL JOINT/FRONT LEFT LOWER CONTROL ARM DEFECT @ 51,000 MILES CAUSED VEHICLE TO FAIL STATE INSPECTION. CONFIRMED BY INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND FORD DEALER. POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DEFECT IN STATES WHERE THERE IS NO ANNUAL INSPECTION REQUIREMENT. REPLACEMENT PART IS ON BACKORDER POSSIBLY INDICATING HIGHER THAN EXPECTED FAILURES.
THE CHARGER (SHORELINE) NEARLY CAUSED A HOUSE FIRE. THE CHARGER OVERHEATS AT THE WALL SOCKET. IT IS NOT THE WALL SOCKET BECAUSE I TRIED IT ON A COMMERCIAL OUTLET ON A NEW 20A CIRCUIT BREAKER. THE ONLINE CHAT ROOMS ARE FULL OF CONCERNS ABOUT THIS. I CALLED FORD AND THEY DID NOT SEEM TO TAKE THE CONCERN SERIOUSLY AT ALL. THE VEHICLE IS IN PARK, TURNED OFF AND CHARGING.
I HAVE STARTED MY CAR AFTER BEING IN A STORE FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES. THE CAR STARTED AND I PLACED IN REVERSE TO BACK OUT OF A SPACE AND THEN PLACED INTO DRIVE. WITHIN A YARD OR TWO THE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. IT THEN GAVE A MESSAGE TO PRESS BRAKE TO START. THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES IN THE LAST FEW DAYS. THE DEALER SAID THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING UNLESS THEY CAN EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM. IF I START DRIVING THIS CAR AGAIN AND GET INTO AN ACCIDENT THEN FORD WILL BE AT FAULT BECAUSE THEY ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE.
CODE P2111 THROTTLE BODY , AFTER ACELARATION WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND ENGINE SHUT DOWN TO IDLING ON 2 CYLINDERS, NEARLY A ACCIDENT HAPPENED , CAR ONLY HAS 38,400 MILES ON IT, I CALLED FORD MOTOR CO. THEY OFFERED NO HELP, WOW !!
STEERING WHEEL BECAME LOOSE HAD TO RETURN TO A FORD DEALERSHIP TO PULL APART AND REINSTALL. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS COMING AWAY FROM THE STEERING COLUMN.
FUSION WOULD STALL AS I WOULD BE PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. NOT ONCE DID THE SENSOR COME ON THE VEHICLE TO ALERT ME THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. FUEL INJECTOR PRESSURE WAS THE PROBLEM.
TRANSMISSION VIOLENTLY ENGAGES INTO GEAR THRUSTING THE DRIVER FORWARD AND CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR ON TRANSMISSION , AS WELL AS SAFETY ISSUES BY STOPPING THE CAR BETWEEN GEARS THEN SHOOTING FORWARD. I WAS GETTING ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND WHEN THE CAR UPSHIFTED , I ALMOST GOT HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND ME BECAUSE IT WAS AS IF THE CAR FIRST DOWNSHIFTS, THEN SLAMS UP INTO THE HIGHER GEAR.
WETHER THE CAR IS COLD OR WARM, EVERYTIME I DRIVE, I GET A HARDSHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEAR. ALSO WHEN I MAKE A STOP AND TRY TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR JERKS FROM ON THE 1ST GEAR. WHEN I'M GOING ON A DOWNHILL AND LET GO OF THE GAS PEDAL AND SLOWLY START BRAKING, THE WOULD GO FROM 2,000 RPM TO 5,000 RPM WHILE I HAVE MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. WHEN I GO TO ANY GAS STATION I CAN'T LEAVE THE PUMP ON AUTO BECAUSE IT WOULD STOP PUMPING, SO I HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLY, IN ORDER TO GET A FULL TANK.
THERE IS A TERRIBLE NOISE INSIDE THE CAR WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN, IT SOUNDS LIKE THERE IS A MILITARY HELICOPTER IN THE CAR WITH YOU. FROM DEALER TO FORD, THEY SAY IT IS "NORMAL" IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE LOUD NOISE AND VIBRATION INSIDE THE CAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. ALSO THE RADIO DOES NOT TUNE ALL THE FM RADIO STATIONS? WHY? I AM TOLD THIS IS NORMAL AS WELL AND MINE ISN'T THE ONLY CAR THAT HAS THESE PROBLEMS.
RIGHT REAR BLINDSPOT SENSOR WILL EITHER INDICATE A VEHICLE IS PRESENT WHEN THERE IS NONE OR FAIL TO INDICATE A VEHICLE IS PRESENT. THIS CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF A BLINDSPOT SENSOR IS TO INDICATE THE PRESENCE OF A VEHICLE IN THE VISIBLE BLINDSPOT OF THE REAR VIEW MIRRORS. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE TAKING VEHICLE DELIVERY IN JUNE OF 2014 AND HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THE DEALER ON 3 OCCASIONS WHEN VEHICLE WAS IN FOR ROUTINE SERVICE.
I STARTED THE CAR AND HAD TO WARNING LIGHTS COME ON. ONE WARNING FOR STEERING ASSIST FAULT, AND THE OTHER FOR SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. I READ ONLINE THAT FORD IS RECALLING CARS SAME YEAR AND MODEL FOR THE SAME ISSUES. BUT NO RECALL FOR MINE - WHY??
I TOOK MY CAR IN TO FORD FOR SERVICE ON DECEMBER 23, 2015. IT RECEIVED ALL GOOD MARKS INCLUDING NO SAFETY ISSUES. ON DECEMBER 26, 2015 I PARKED MY CAR AND WENT SHOPPING. WHEN I RETURNED, MY LEFT MIRROR WAS OUT OF THE PROGRAMMED POSITION. ONCE I STARTED THE CAR, THE BLIND SPOT SYSTEM DEFAULT AND CROSS TRAFFIC SYSTEM DEFAULT WARNINGS ILLUMINATED. I TOOK THE CAR TO FORD FOR SERVICE. THERE WAS AN ELECTRONIC SYSTEM LOCATED WITHIN THE MIRROR THAT WENT BAD FOR NO REASON. THIS MADE THE DETECTION SYSTEMS MALFUNCTION. THE ENTIRE MIRROR UNIT MUST BE REPLACED AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. IT WOULD COST OVER $500.00 US TO REPLACE.
THE INFORMATION DISPLAY ON MY 2014 FORD FUSION BLACKED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING IN DECEMBER, 2015. THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 48,000 MILES WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT THE FORD DEALER WHERE I HAD BOUGHT THE CAR. I PAID $99.95 TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED. I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED A GATEWAY MODULE THAT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $300, BUT THE $99.95 WOULD GO TOWARDS THAT COST. WHEN THE PART CAME IN AND INSTALLED, THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAD TOLD ME THAT THE GATEWAY MODULE MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE COST WOULD BE $707 AND THE SHOP WOULD NEED MY CAR FOR TWO DAYS. I ALSO WOULD NEED TO BRING ALL MY KEYS FOR THE PROGRAMMING. THIS ALL SEEMS TO BE A STEEP PRICE TO FIX A DISPLAY PANEL THAT I USE ONLY FOR AN ODOMETER AND SOMETIMES FOR TRIP MILEAGE. I SAW ON THE SERVICE BULLETIN NO. ASI-44742 THAT OTHER 2013-2014 FORD FUSIONS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THESE CARS NEED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER REPLACED DUE TO PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION. I HAVE NOT HAD THE CLUSTER REPLACED BECAUSE THE PART HAS TO BE SPECIAL ORDERED. I WANTED TO SEE IF THERE WERE OTHER OPTIONS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. *TR
I DRIVE A 2014 FORD FUSION SE WITH A 1.6L ECOBOOST AND A 6 SPD MANUAL TRANSMISSION. IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 40,500 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT. UPON REACHING A SPEED OF 35-40 MPH WHILE ACCELERATING (I SHIFT AT 2500 RPM'S) I HEARD TWO CHIMES SIMILAR TO THE CHIMES THE CAR MAKES WHEN I START IT. ONCE THE CHIMES FINISHED SOUNDING MY INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT BLACK EXCEPT FOR THE NEEDLES WHICH ALL CAME TO A REST INTO THE "OFF" POSITION". THEY STILL REMAINED LIT. I HAD NO DASHBOARD LIGHTS. MY CAR LOST POWER AT THE SAME TIME AND THE STEERING BECAME SLIGHTLY HARDER THAN NORMAL. THERE WAS A VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF THROTTLE RESPONSE AND THEN NO RESPONSE. I WAS ABLE TO COAST ONTO A SIDE STREET WHERE THE CAR COMPLETELY WENT DEAD BY THE TIME I CAME TO A STOP. BEFORE COMING TO A STOP MY BRAKE PEDAL PUSHED DOWN EASIER THAN NORMAL. AT SOME POINT BEFORE COMING TO A STOP MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN WENT OFF ONCE THE CAR DIED. AFTER STAYING STOPPED FOR A FEW SECONDS I RESTARTED THE CAR AND CONTINUED DRIVING WITH NO ISSUES SINCE. WHEN THE CAR LOST POWER AND DIED THERE WAS NO STUTTERING OR STALLING. THE CAR SHUT ITSELF OFF VERY SMOOTHLY. THE NEXT DAY I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY PROMPTLY LOOKED AT IT. AFTER CONDUCTING A COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC CHECK I WAS INFORMED THAT THERE HAD BEEN A, 'THROTTLE BODY INCIDENT'. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT IT APPEARED THAT THE AIR FILTER HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY SEATED INTO ITS HOUSING WHEN CHANGED AT THE 30K MILE MAINTENANCE INTERVAL. THEY CONDUCTED FURTHER PINPOINTING AND LOCATED PARTICLES INSIDE THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH THEY CLEANED OFF. THE DEALER UPDATED THE PCM AND CONDUCTED A SATISFACTORY ROAD TEST. SINCE THE INCIDENT I HAVE PUT SEVERAL HUNDRED MILES ONTO THE CAR WITH NO ISSUES. I WAS FORTUNATE THIS OCCURRED ON A ROAD WITH LIGHT TRAFFIC AND WHILE NOT TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED.
THERE IS A PLASTIC SHIELD RIGHT INSIDE THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE BOTH OF THESE ON BACK SEATS HAVE COME LOOSE (I USE BOOSTER SEATS) IT REQUIRES A LONG NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS TO GET THIS PART OUT OF THE INSIDE OF THE BUCKLE IN ORDER FOR THE SEATBELT TO WORK AGAIN... WHEN YOU ARE AND ABOUT THAT MEANS YOU HAVE NO USE OF THE SEATBELT UNTIL YOU CAN GET HOME TO REMOVE THIS PIECE. IE KID NOT RESTRAINED DATE BELOW IS 2ND / TIME BUCKLE
I WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD-ON COLLISION AND SUFFERED NUMEROUS INJURIES BECAUSE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. (I WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT). I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD FOR DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
POWER STEERING WENT OUT, FIRST TIME FORD LOOKED AT IT AND COULD NOT IDENTIFY THE PROBLEM, SAYING THERE WAS "NO CODE" SHOWING UP, AND THAT THEY "RESET" THE ELECTRONICS. 1 WEEK LATER, POWER STEERING WENT AGAIN OUT AT 75MPH, CREATING A VERY SCARY AND UNSAFE ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCHES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. UPDATED 04/07/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP WHEN CHANGING SPEEDS. IT SHUDDERED AND VIBRATED WHEN THE CHANGING GEARS. THE DEALER MADE SOME ADJUSTMENTS TO THE TCM, WHICH HELPED A LITTLE, BUT NOT A LOT. UPDATED 04/14/16.*JB
I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE HARSH GEAR SHIFT ON DECEMBER 13, 2015 EVERY TIME I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE. ALSO, WHEN I REACHED 20MPH AND 40MPH I FELT THE HARSH GEAR SHIFT AND THE CAR WOULD JERK FORWARD. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ON DECEMBER 14, 2015 AND THEY SAID THE MOUNT FOR THE TRANSMISSION WAS BROKEN. THE TECHNICIAN WASN'T THERE TO CHECK OUT THE CAR IN ORDER TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS MECHANICAL OR NOT, BUT THEY DID THE WORK ON THE CAR ANYWAY AND ON DECEMBER 16, 2015, THE DEALER CALLED TO SAY THE CAR WAS READY. IT WAS VERY OBVIOUS THEY DID NOT TEST DRIVE THE CAR AFTER SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRING THE MOUNT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS DOING THE SAME THING, EXCEPT WORSE. WHEN I TOOK IT BACK THE NEXT DAY, THE TECHNICIAN WAS THERE AND SAID IT IS A MECHANICAL PROBLEM. I ASKED FOR A LOAN SINCE THEY SAID A PART HAD TO BE ORDERED AND THEY WOULD NEED TO KEEP MY CAR FOR A FEW DAYS AND I WAS TOLD I COULDN'T GET A LOANER. INSTEAD, THE DEALER SAID MY CAR WAS DRIVABLE AND DID DELIVER GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. IT FELT AS THOUGH HE WAS TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE AND NOT TAKE CARE OF THE CUSTOMER. THEN HE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THERE MIGHT BE A FURTHER PROBLEM, BUT COULD NOT TELL ME WHAT IT WAS. I AM EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED WITH FORD. I HAD THE CAR SINCE MARCH 2014 AND SHOULDN'T BE EXPERIENCING A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM LESS THAN 2 YEARS LATER. THERE WAS ALSO A RECALL ON THE STEERING BOLTS AND I DIDN'T RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF THE RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE STALLED UNEXPECTEDLY. SEVERAL HOURS LATER, WHILE PARKED AND INDLING WITH THE ENGIINE ON, IT STALLED AGAIN AFTER APPEARING TO HAVE TROUBLE AT THE LOW IDLE SPEED.
I BOUGHT A USED 2014 FORD FUSION IN THE SUMMER WITH NO DRIVING PROBLEMS,BUT WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE CAR IN THE WINTER THE FRONT END OF THE CAR SHOOK REALLY BAD AT SPEEDS OVER 35 TO 45 MILES MPR TOOK THE CAR TO FORD DEALER,THEY SAID THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT FORD KNOWS ABOUT WITH THE 19"WHEEL BUT THEY DO NOT TELL THE CUSTERMERS ABOUT IT WHEN SELLING THE CARS.SO WHEN WINTERS COMES AROUND AGAIN I HAVE TO BUY A DIFFERENT SET OF WHEELS TO BE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR SAFELY THIS UP COMING WINTER. WHEN THE LEFT REAR TIRE CATASTROPHICALLY BREACHED,AND I HAD TO PULL OF THE ROAD TO AVOID ANY ACCIDENT.FORTUNNATELY IT WAS 10AM AND THE TRAFFIC WAS VERY LIGHT,OTHERWISE THE RESULT MAY HAVE BEEN MORE SERIOUS.A QUICK SEARCH OF THE INTERNET REVILED SIMILAR ACCIDENTS,BUT THERE HAS NOT BEEN ANY RECALL.I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT AN INVESTIGATION ON THESE AND OTHER TIRES WITH REDUCED SIDE WALLS SHOULD BE CRITICALLY LOOKED AT,BEFORE IT BECOMES ENDEMIC.I LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR ANALYSIS.
I HAVE A 2014 FORD FUSION WITH 31,252 MILES. IT WAS BUILT IN SEPTEMBER 2013 AND PURCHASED ON JUNE 27, 2014. ON NOVEMBER 8, 2015, THE ENGINE STOPPED WHILE STATIONARY AT A STOPLIGHT ON A CITY STREET. IT RESTARTED WITHOUT INCIDENT AFTER IT WAS PUT INTO PARK. THE IGNITION SWITCH TORQUE SEEMS SUFFICIENT TO KEEP THE SWITCH FROM TURNING OFF BY ITSELF. THE ELECTRONIC DISPLAY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN PARK.
DRIVER SIDE REAR BLISS SENSOR WILL EITHER INDICATE A VEHICLE IS PRESENT WHEN NOTHING IS THERE OR FAIL TO INDICATE A VEHICLE IS IN THE BLIND SPOT WHEN PRESENT. DUE TO THIS FAILURE, IT CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO DRIVER NOT SEEING THE CAR AND THE BLISS LIGHT IS NOT ON EVEN THOUGH A CAR IS THERE. PROBLEM STARTED AROUND NOVEMBER OF 2015 AND I SHOWED DEALER VIDEOS OF PROBLEM AND DEALER SAID NO ERROR CODES SO CANNOT FIX.

MY SON AND HIS FRIEND WERE DRIVING HIS 2014 FUSION ON A TWO LANE ROAD THAT MAKES A 90 DEGREE TURN TO THE RIGHT WHEN HIS POWER STEERING WENT OUT. AS HE CAME TO THE TURN HE WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AND THE VEHICLE WENT STRAIGHT AND LEFT THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE STRUCK A SMALL TREE AND SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT FENDER AND THE UNDER CARRIAGE OF THE VEHICLE. AN ACCIDENT REPORT WAS MADE. WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME WITHOUT ANY POWER STEERING AND I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND THAT THE COULD PUT THE VEHICLE ON A COMPUTER TO DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, IT WOULD COST ME $135.00 PER HOUR FOR THE DIAGNOSIS AND IT COULD TAKE 2-6 HOURS. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT IF THE POWER STEERING ASSIST MODULE NEEDED REPLACED IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $2,000.00. THE VEHICLE HAS 50,000 MILES ON IT AT THIS TIME. I DROVE THE CAR BACK HOME AND CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CUSTOMER RELATIONS. IT HAS BEEN PAST THE 15 WORKING DAY PERIOD FOR A REPRESENTATIVE TO CONTACT ME AND I HAVE STILL HEAR NOTHING FROM FORD. TODAY I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP.

WHEN IT IS IN DRIVE AND STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR WITH THE ELECTRONIC EBRAKE ON WHILE THE CAR IS IN DRIVE THERE IS A KNOCK BEHIND THE FIREWALL AROUND THE TRANSMISSION AREA (LOCATION IS CLOSE TO THE LOWER FRONT OF THE CENTER CONSOLE AREA; WHERE IT IS PREDOMINANTLY HEARD). IT IS NOT HEARD UNTIL YOU ARE IN THE CAR WITH THE DOORS CLOSED (NO MUSIC ON JUST THE ODD KNOCK WHEN STOPPED WHILE IN DRIVE OR IN DRIVE WITH THE EBRAKE ON). I HAD THE ENGINE CHECKED FOR NOISE; MECHANICS AT OPELIKA FORD AL STATED IT MAY BE MY FUEL RAIL AND FUEL FILTER WHICH MAY BE CAUSING CABLING BEHIND THE FIREWALL TO RATTLE. IF THAT IS THE CASE I SHOULD HEAR THE HARD KNOCK WHILE IN REVERSE OR PARK. THEY STATED THEY TIED BOTH DOWN INCLUDING THE CABLES TO SEE IF THE NOISE SUBSIDED (TOOK THEM TEN MINUTES TO DO THIS WHICH IS QUIET FAST TO ACCESS THE FUEL RAIL AND FILTER WHEN THE AREA IS TIGHT TO ACCESS IN ORDER TO TIE CABLES DOWN). I ALSO HAD THE TRANSMISSION CHECKED; THEY STATED NOTHING IS WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION. I GOT IT CHECKED BECAUSE OF THE KNOCK AND THE TRANSMISSION JERKED HARD INTO SECOND AND THIRD GEAR. ALSO STARTED TO IDLE HARD (THIS IS AROUND 21000 MILES). THEY MAY HAVE RE-FLASHED THE TRANSMISSION BUT NO MECHANIC CAME AND SPOKE TO ME ABOUT IT. I ALSO ASKED FOR THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE TO BE UPDATED. NOT SURE IF THEY DID THAT EITHER. THE CAR STILL IDLES A BIT ROUGH FROM TIME TO TIME. THE ISSUE IS STILL ON GOING AND I AM IN SEARCH OF A "FORD CERTIFIED MECHANIC" TO ACTUALLY SHOW ME WHAT IS WRONG SO IT CAN BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. FORD HQ STATED THEY DO NOT KEEP TRACK OF INFORMATION DONE ON THE CARS IT IS LOCAL TO THE DEALERSHIPS WHICH IS STUPID. SO HOW ARE THEIR RECALLS DONE IF THEY AREN'T REQUIRED TO KEEP TRACK OF PROBLEMS?

INSIDE THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT BROKE. A PIECE OF PLASTIC AND SPRING CAME OUT, IT WAS LIKE IT CAUGHT ON SOMETHING AND JUST FELL OUT. IT HAPPENED WHILE I WAS PULLING THE HARNESS OUT OF THE LATCH. VERY LITTLE PRESSURE WAS ON IT WHEN IT BROKE. IT APPEARS TO BE A HORRIBLY BAD DESIGN.

ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2015 AROUND 3:45PM I MADE A LEFT TURN AT A STOP LIGHT, GOING ABOUT 15-20MPH OR LESS, JUST TAKING A CORNER AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP AND KEPT PULLING TO THE LEFT, I WAS UNABLE TO STRAIGHTEN THE CAR UP, LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BESIDE ME. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN BACK IN DRIVE, THEN I WAS ABLE TO CONTINUE. VERY SCARY, THAT CAME OUT OF NO WHERE.
OUR AC QUIT WORKING THE DAY AFTER RETURNING FROM A SMALL TRIP. WE TOOK IT IN UNDER WARRANTY AND FIND OUT THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY HAS BROKEN OFF AND IS MISSING FROM THE AC COMPRESSOR THE IS ON BACK ORDER AND WE ARE TOLD IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE BUT IT IS MAKING A LOT OF NOISE FROM THE FRONT.

THE NEXT DAY, I TURNED ON THE CAR AND THE STEERING WAS WORKING AGAIN. FOR A COUPLE MILES, THEN THE POWER STEERING LOSS RESUMED. I CAREFULLY DROVE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON MONDAY, WHERE IT REMAINS.
THE REAR RIGHT DOOR LATCH COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT BUT THE DOOR NOW FREELY FLIES OPEN. VERY UNSAFE. THERE WAS A LARGE RECALL ON MANY FORD FUSIONS FOR EXACTLY THIS REASON BUT NOT YET THIS MODEL.

I PURCHASED THE FORD FOCUS IN JUNE OF 2014. I AM NOW 80 YEARS OLD AND THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE MY LAST CAR. SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE IT BECAME OBVIOUS THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I EXPERIENCED STUTTERING ON ACCELERATION WHICH CAUSES AN UNSAFE CONDITION WHEN DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION. AT TIMES, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP. VERY FRIGHTENING WHEN THIS HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO CAUSES THE CAR TO LURCH FORWARD ON DECELERATION. NEITHER DOES IT HOLD PROPERLY ON A HILL, AND IT CAN ALSO MAKE A GRINDING SOUND IN THE LOWER GEARS ON TAKE OFF. THESE CONDITIONS PRESENT A SAFETY THREAT BECAUSE IT AFFECTS MY ABILITY TO CONTROL THE CAR ON ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2010 AND HAS TAKEN NO ACTION TO RECTIFY THE SITUATION. IT APPEARS IT WOULD BE INCUMBENT ON THE SELLING DEALERSHIP TO DISCLOSE THIS DEFECT ON PURCHASE. I WAS FINALLY INFORMED OF THE PROBLEM AT THE FIRST SERVICE WHEN I COMPLAINED. THIS IS PURE AND SIMPLE NON DISCLOSURE WHICH IS ILLEGAL IN SALES OF ANY KIND. I HAVE HAD MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AT LEAST 5 TIMES COMPLAINING OF THE PROBLEM OF THIS PROBLEM AND EACH TIME THEY RUN SOME SOFTWARE WHICH USUALLY MAKES THE SITUATION WORSE OR CREATES AND ADDITIONAL PROBLEM.
