ON 7/7/15 WHILE ON THE 99 GRAND-PARKWAY FREEWAY MY FORD FUSION SUDDENLY STARTED DRIFTING AND WASN'T ALLOWING ME TO TURN BACK IN THE LANE CAUSING MY CAR TO SPIN OUT AND LOSE CONTROL AND CRASH INTO A BARRIER. SHORTLY AFTER I FILED A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE AND WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 7/11/15 CLAIMING THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND A MECHANICAL FAILURE. FORD MOTOR MENTIONED THE GENERAL COUNSEL WOULD REACH OUT IN 15 BUSINESS DAYS AND THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS ON FILE. HOWEVER, SHORTLY AFTER I FILED THAT COMPLAINT FORD SENT A VEHICLE RECALL REGARDING POWER STEERING CORROSION (INTERESTING TIMING). I HAVE ESCALATED MULTIPLE TIMES TO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND STILL NO LUCK OR CLARIFICATION OF WHY I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GENERAL COUNSEL.
I BOUGHT MY 2014 FORD FUSION SE IN 2015. IT HAD AROUND 24,000 MILLAGE. AFTER COUPLE DAY I NOTICED THAT TGERE IS COMETHIBG WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION. I BROUGHT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT FROM (BRIGHT BAY LINCOLN, BAY SHAORS, NY) AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION. THAT PEOVLEM NEVER WENT AWAY. PROBLEM IS GETTING WORS. I WENT WELL KNOW TRANMISSION SHOP IN SPRINGFIELD AND THEY SAID THAT CLUTCHES NEEDS TO BE CHANGED BUT THEY DO BOT FIX FORD FUSION TRANSMISSION BECAUSE IT IS VERY HARD TO DO IT. OVER THE TIME I MET COUPLE FUSION OVNER AND ALL OF THEM COMPLAINED ABOUT THEIR TRANSMISSION.

ON A COOL RAINY EVENING IN OCONOMOWOC, WI, THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD BECAME COVERED WITH FILM THAT COULD NOT BE WIPED OFF WITH A CLOTH, A SQUEEGEE, OR A BLACKBOARD ERASER. VISIBILITY WAS MARGINAL ON A DARK ROAD, BUT WHEN FACING ONCOMING HEADLIGHTS, THE WINDSHIELD LIT UP AND COMPLETELY LOST ITS TRANSPARENCY. MULTIPLE TIMES, CRASHES WERE BARELY AVOIDED BY DEAD RECKONING OF THE CONTINUATION OF THE LANE LOCUS. SINCE THAT TIME WE HAVE PURCHASED RAINX COMPOUND FOR CLEANING INSIDE OF WINDSHIELD AND USED IT MULTIPLE TIMES, WITH SOME POSITIVE RESULTS, BUT STILL HAVE REMAINING STREAKS. EVENT MAY HAVE BEEN AGGRAVATED BY ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS. DEFROSTER, EVEN WITH HIGH HEAT, COULD NOT ELIMINATE THE WINDSHIELD PROBLEM AT THE TIME...UPDATED 09/08/15 *BF UPDATED 10/14/2015*JS
THE WIPERS DO NOT CLEAR THE WINDSHIELD FAST ENOUGH. YOU CANNOT DRIVE THIS CAR IN A LIGHT/MODERATE RAIN. ONCE IT STARTS RAINING VISIBILITY BECOMES HORRIBLE AND ITS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ANYWHERE. IF YOU GET CAUGHT IN A STORM ON THE HIGHWAY ALL YOU CAN DO IS PULL OVER. THIS MUST BE A FORD ISSUE BECAUSE MY 2012 MUSTANG WAS THE SAME EXACT WAY, AND OUR 2012 ESCAPE HAS THE SAME PROBLEM.
ON 6/4/2015 AT 7AM I HAD JUST DROPPED MY SON OFF AT HIS DAYCARE FACILITY. WHILE TRYING TO PULL OUT OF FACILITY PARKING LOT AND ONTO THE MAIN ROAD, MY CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER ALMOST CAUSING A HORRIFIC ACCIDENT WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC ON A TWO WAY ROAD. AFTER THE HORRIBLE SCARE AND MANY PEOPLE HONKING AND ANGRY AT ME AS IF I HAD DONE IT PURPOSELY, I WAS ABLE TO MOSTLY PULL OVER ON THE SIDE ROAD. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND I WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE CAR AGAIN BUT BY PUSHING GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN AND GETTING PAST 2000RPM. EVERY TIME I CAME TO A STOP IT WAS THE SAME SCENARIO. SINCE THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT YET OPEN, I MANAGED TO MAKE IT TO WORK AND CALLED THEM IMMEDIATELY AT 8 AM TO TELL THEM WHAT I HAD EXPERIENCED. INFORMED THEM OF THE POWER TRAIN FAULT MY CAR WAS GIVING ME AND ASKED IF THEY BELIEVED IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE IT TO THE DEALER WHEN I GOT OFF OF WORK. THE SERVICE ADVISOR TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD BE FINE AND TO DROP OFF THE CAR AS SOON AS I GOT OFF. WHILE GETTING IN MY CAR THAT AFTERNOON, I NOTICED THAT IT GOT CONSIDERABLY WORSE. MY CAR STARTED BUCKING FORCEFULLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND AT THIS POINT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS CAR FOR A LITTLE OVER YEAR AND IT HAS 25K MILES ON IT. THERE IS NO REASON TO BE EXPERIENCING SUCH TROUBLE WITH A BRAND NEW CAR. SLOWLY BUT SURELY I MADE IT TO THE DEALER AND ALMOST IMMEDIATELY THE TECHNICIAN KNEW THAT IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. A FEW DAYS AT THE SHOP TURNED INTO A WEEK, THEN A WEEK TURNED INTO TWO WEEKS, AND NOW TWO WEEKS HAS TURNED INTO THREE WEEKS AND THE CAR IS STILL NOT FIXED. IM TOLD OF THE MANY PARTS ORDERED ONE IS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER WHICH MAKES ME EXTREMELY CONCERNED AND UNFORTUNATELY EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO EVEN DRIVE THE CAR AGAIN. TERRIFIED SOMETHING MORE SERIOUS CAN HAPPEN NEXT TIME. VERY UNSATISFIED WITH FORD AND THE SAFETY OF THEIR VEHICLES.

COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE WIPER SYSTEM, WIPERS DOESN'T OPERATE WHEN ACTIVATED BY THE SWITCH. SEEMS LIKE THE MOTOR THAT TURN THEM DOESN'T HAVE POWER TO TURN, SOMETIMES THE PASSENGER SIDE WIPER MOVES UNTIL THE FINAL UPWARD POSITION AND GET STUCK, NOT RETRACTING FOR ANOTHER MOVEMENT UNTIL IT HAS BEEN MANUALLY RETURNED TO THE INITIAL POSITION. VERY DANGEROUS, HAD TO STOP THE CAR IMMEDIATELY AND COULD NOT EVEN SEE THE ROAD SIDE! JUST DIDN'T CRASHED THE CAR BECAUSE I WAS LUCKY!
I LEASED MY SE FUSION OCT 2014 .. ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER I NOTICED THAT ALL OF MY INSIDE ELECTRONIS WOULD FAIL. I WOULD LOSE RADIO, AIR, HEAT, SEAT POWER, WINDOWS, DOOR LOCKS, ONLY THINGS THAT WOULD WORK WERE ENGINE, HEADLIGHTS, AND WINDSHEILD WIPERS. THE CAR WAS TAKEN INTO FORD AND THEY SAW THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE AND CALLED MANUFACTURER TO SEE HOW TO FIX. ABOUT 4 MONTHS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME FORD HAD MY CAR FOR A WEEK AND REPLACED WIRES AND FUSES AND WE FELT THIS TIME IS WAS FIXED AND WOULDN'T HAVE ANYMORE ISSUES. WELL TODAY MAY 22ND ON MY 25 MINUTE DRIVE INTO WORK IT HAPPENED AS I GOT ONTO HIGHWAY, ABOUT 10 MINUTES LATER RESET. BEFORE I COULD EVEN GET INTO WORK IT WENT OUT AGAIN THIS TIME TOOK ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO RESET AND IN THAT TIME WAS LATE TO WORK BECAUSE MY WINDOW WAS DOWN AND COULD NOT LEAVE IT THAT WAY. MY CAR WAS NOTHING BUT A HEADACHE FOR FORD THE LAST TIME THEY HAD IT AND AS THEY HAVE TRIED TO FIX IT WE ARE STILL EXPERIENCING ISSUES AS I AM NOW AWAITING TO HEAR WHAT WILL BE DONE WITH IT NOW. MY BIGGEST CONCERN IS IF AND WHEN I LOOSE POWER TO EVEN MY ENGINE AS I AM ON THE HIGHWAY HEADING TO OR HOME FROM WORK.

EXPERIENCED LOSS OF VISIBILITY IN MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN. WINDSHIELD WIPERS SMEAR WHEN IN USE, CYCLE TOO SLOWLY TO REMOVE WATER. RAIN SEEMS TO SETTLE ON WINDSHIELD AND THE WATER SPREADS AS RAINDROPS MAKE CONTACT WITH THE WINDSHIELD.
TROUBLE WITH TRANSMISSION CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. WAS TOLD FORD PUT IN MANUAL CLUTCH IN AUTOMATIC CARS. HESITATION UPON ACCELERATION, ROLLS BACKWARD WHEN IN DRIVE ON INCLINE, DOES NOT SHIFT RIGHT, "CHUGS". PURCHASED 2014 CAR IN EARLY 2015, USED. FEEL CAR SALES BUSINESS SHOULD HAVE KNOWN AND NOT SOLD CAR IN THIS CONDITION, OR HAVE HAD IT FIXED FIRST. PER FORD SERVICE STATION, PARTS ARE ON BACKLOG FOR 3-4 MONTHS. EVEN THOUGH THEY TELL ME IS IT NOT A DANGEROUS CONDITION, I FEEL IT IS DANGEROUS ON HIGHWAY WHEN TRYING TO PASS AND NOT GETTING ENOUGH ACCELERATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH, THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR INDEPENDENTLY OPENED. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT'S DOOR SLAMMED INTO THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE QUARTER PANEL ON THE OUTER PART OF THE DOOR AND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THE QUARTER PANEL AND ALL THE LATCHES ON ALL THE DOORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE PARTS NOT BEING AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

WHILE DRIVING THE CAR STARTED BEEPING. TOOK A MINUTE TO FIGURE OUT THE CLIMATE CONTROL WHICH WAS SET AT 72 WAS AUTOMATICALLY GOING DOWN TO 60 (IT BEEPS AS IS CHANGES SETTINGS). TRIED TO TURN IN BACK UP AND IT WENT DOWN, TURNED IT OFF AND IT CAME BACK ON. DID THIS ALL THE WAY HOME. IN MY DRIVEWAY, WITH CAR TURNED OFF, IT CONTINUED BEEPING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 6 TIMES BETWEEN APRIL 27TH AND AUGUST 30TH. SOME TIMES IT GOES UP TO 85 DEGREES AND SOMETIMES DOWN TO 60 AND THERE IS NO STOPPING IT WHILE DRIVING. FORD HAS UPDATED COMPUTER TWICE AND REPLACED IT ONCE. WAITING FOR CALL BACK FROM FORD TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS THERE IS NO CONTROLLING IT AND IT'S GOING TO EXTREME LOW AND HIGH TEMPERATURES, AS WELL AS THE CONTINUOUS BEEPING. EXTREMELY DISTRACTING. I HAVE YESTERDAY'S INCIDENT ON VIDEO. NOT TO MENTION, SINCE THEY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT IS CAUSING THIS I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS A POSSIBILITY OF FIRE; IT MUST BE ELECTRICAL OF SOME SORT?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING LAMP FLASHED INDICATING A POWER STEERING FAILURE AND THE WARNING LAMP FLASHED TO SERVICE THE ADVANCE TRACK. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO BE DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHO REPLACED THE COMPUTER MODULE FOR THE POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V250000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,064.
TAKATA RECALL___ SINCE 26K MILES THE FRONT AIRBAG FAULT INDICATOR HAS BEEN LIT AND CANNOT BE CLEARED. I SUSPECT FORD KNOWS THAT MORE THAT THE VINS IDENTIFIED PREVIOUSLY ARE IN FACT FAULTY. I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FORD MADE IN MEXICO JUNK. THEY DON'T HONOR THIER CUSTOMERS WELL ENOUGH TO WARRANT ANY FURTHER BUSINESS FROM ME.
DROVE THE CAR DOWN A MOUNTAIN ROAD AND SOMEHOW MANAGED TO REGENERATE 29 MILES ON THE BATTERY. THOUGHT THAT VERY STRANGE AS THE HIGHEST CHARGE OR REGEN ACHIEVED PRIOR TO THIS SHOWED 24 MILES AND DID NOT THINK THE BATTERY COULD HOLD THAT MUCH. RETURNED HOME ABOUT 9:30PM WITH AN EMPTY PLUG-IN CHARGE. AT APPROXIMATELY 9:50PM PLUGGED IN THE CAR FOR CHARGING USING THE 120V FORD PHEV CHARGER SUPPLIED WITH THE VEHICLE. AT APPROXIMATELY 3AM AWOKE SMELLING ELECTRICAL FIRE. FOLLOWED THE SMELL TO THE GARAGE AND DISCOVERED THAT THE PHEV CHARGER PLUG HAD COMPLETELY BURNED UP ALONG WITH THE OUTLET RECEPTACLE, PLASTIC RECEPTACLE BOX AND SOME OF THE STUD THE RECEPTACLE BOX WAS ATTACHED TO. SOMEHOW THE ATTACHED GARAGE STRUCTURE DID NOT BECOME ENGULFED; RATHER, THE FIRE WENT OUT SOMEHOW BY ITSELF. UNPLUGGED THE CHARGER FROM THE CAR AT 3:11AM AND MADE SURE THE PANEL CIRCUIT BREAKER WAS COMPLETELY IN THE OFF POSITION. LOOKED AT THE ANDROID MYFORD APP AND DISCOVERED THAT AT 2:27AM THE CAR SENT A MESSAGE "SCHEDULED CHARGE DID NOT BEGIN - EXTERNAL FAULT." THE APP ALSO REPORTED THE FOLLOWING AT 3:11AM, YOUR VEHICLE HAD AN ACCIDENTAL UNPLUG WHILE CHARGING.' HOWEVER, THE CAR APPEARED TO BE FULLY CHARGED. THROUGH THE PROCESS OF INVESTIGATING THE FIRE WITH THE INSURANCE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE CHARGER PLUG IS WHERE THE FIRE STARTED. WE POSSESS A COPY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORT ON THE CAUSE OF THIS INCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. AFTER PARKING THE VEHICLE, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT NOTICED FLAMES AND SMOKE AFTER THE DOOR WAS OPENED. THE SEAT WAS BURNED. THE FIRE EXTINGUISHED ON ITS OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FIRE WAS DUE TO AN OUTSIDE SOURCE; HOWEVER, THE POLICE REPORT AND INSURANCE COMPANY DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY FAULTY WIRING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.
THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING AT NIGHT. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT THE LIGHTS DIM AS YOU INCREASE SPEED. I HAVE GONE TO TWO DEALERSHIPS BOTH TELLING ME THEY ARE "FINE" "NOTHING WRONG". I HAVE COMPLAINED TO FORD CORP ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT THEY DO NOTHING TO HELP REMEDY THE SITUATION. DRIVERS SIDE LIGHTING CLUSTER WILL NOT KEEP LIGHTS FOR MORE THAN A YEAR BEFORE I HAVE TO REPLACE THE LIGHT BULBS. I HAVEN'T HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE LIGHTBULBS MORE THAN ONCE IN COMPARISON. ON TOP OF THAT THE SYNC SYSTEM HAS HAD ISSUES FROM ABOUT MONTH THREE OF OWNERSHIP. THEY HAVE REPLACED PART OF THE COMPUTER BUT NOW HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG. IT IS "NORMAL" FOR MY A/C AND HEAT TO TAKE CONTROL OF ITSELF AND CHANGE WITH ME HAVING NO WAY TO CONTROL IT. I HAVE SPOKEN TO TWO DEALERSHIPS ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND ONCE AGAIN "IT IS FINE" "NOTHING IS WRONG". APPARENTLY THIS ISSUE LEAVES NO PROBLEM CODE TO GIVE A PLACE TO START FOR REPAIR. I HAVE VIDEO TAPED IT AND STILL THEY CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE SYSTEM. IT IS BECOMING HOT HERE NOW AND THIS ALL SEAMS TO BE A HEALTH RISK FOR MYSELF AND PASSENGERS. I HAVE A 2014 FORD FUSION THAT COMES WITH CONTINENTAL TIRES. IN THE 14 MONTHS I HAVE OWNED THE CAR , I HAVE HAD 2 TIRES BLOW OUT. PRIOR TO THIS CAR I NEVER HAD A FLAT TIRE, NOW I'VE HAD 2 . LUCKILY, SHE IS A VERY CAUTIOUS DRIVER AND NOT PRONE TO QUICK STOPS. THE CAR SLOWED AND FINALLY CAME TO A HALT WITHOUT HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF HER AFTER SHE DEPRESSED THE BRAKE TWICE. SHE TOOK THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR IMMEDIATE EXAMINATION. SHE HAS BEEN TOLD THAT THE DEALERSHIP HAD TO ORDER A NEW ABS MODULE. THANK GOD THERE WAS NO CAR SITTING AT THE INTERSECTION, BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE HIT THEIR DRIVER'S SIDE. I HAVE HAD ZIMMERMAN FORD IN CEDAR RAPIDS, IA LOOK AT MY BRAKES TWICE NOW, WITH NO RESOLUTION. I EVEN REPLACED TIRES AFTER THIS EVENT AND HAD ONE OF THEIR SERVICEMEN TELL ME THEY HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH HIS FUSION. HE TOO, REPLACED THE TIRES, WHICH HAD NO EFFECT. THE BRAKES GRAB WITH FORCE WHENEVER THEY GET MOISTURE ON THEM, FROM RAIN, DEW, OR SNOW. THE DEALER HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE, BUT DON'T CARE. I FEEL I AM GOING TO DIE IN THIS CAR AND AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE IT IN ANOTHER IOWA WINTER, BUT HAVE NO CHOICE. WIPERS ON THIS CAR DON'T WORK WELL! THE WIPERS JUST BLUR THE WINDSHIELD AND POORLY REMOVE THE WATER FROM THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DURING LIGHT RAIN. MY 2014 FORD FUSION HAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. THE AC/HEATER JUST COME ON FULL BLAST SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES NOT AT ALL.. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN I'M TRYING TO DRIVE IN BAD WEATHER. IT WONT EVEN DEFROST MY WINDOWS CORRECTLY.. MY TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND HAS DONE SO FOR 5 YEARS. FORD DEALERS HAVE NOT HELPED IN ANYWAY EVEN THOUGHT I HAVE A RECALL LETTER STATING THE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SHIFTER CABLE. IT SAID THAT MY CAR ISN'T GOING ALL THE WAY INTO GEAR/PARK AND IT COULD CAUSE PROBLEMS FOR TRANSMISSION IN THE FUTURE AND IT HAS. I NEED HELP, PLEASE! THE SHIFTER CABLE BROKE COMPLETELY OFF AND FIDD HAD IT TOWED TO FIX IT. THEY FIXED IT IN LESS THEN 30MINS BUT DID NOT EVEN LOOK AT MY TRANSMISSION AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT MY CAR IS DRIVING HORRIBLE. IT HAS NO POWER HARDLY WHEN I PRESS THE GAS. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN SEVERAL BAD WRECKS BECAUSE OF IT. I CAN'T DRIVE OVER 70 MILES AN HOUR SO MY CAR KNOCKING REALLY HARD. ALSO MY HEADLINER ON THE INSIDE OF MY CAR IS FALLING DOWN. FORD SAID THEY WERE MEASURED WRONG WHEN THEY BUILT THESE FORD FUSIONS BUT HAVE YET TO DO A RECALL ON THEM. IT HAS FALLEN DOWN ON MY LITTLE GIRLS HEAD AND MY OWN HEAD WHILE DRIVING AT A DANGEROUS SPEED. *TR
THE DRIVER SIDE WIPER BLADE IN CONTINUOUS MODE TRAVELS FROM THE 0 DEGREE POSITION TO 90 DEGREES (VERTICAL) BUT ONLY BACK TO 20-30 DEGREES BEFORE RETURNING TO THE 90 DEGREE POSITION. NOT ONLY DOE THE BLADE NOT CLEAR THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD IN FRONT OF THE DRIVER, BUT REMAINS IN THE FIELD OF VISION BLOCKING THE VIEW OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THAT ALL FUSIONS HAVE THE SAME WIPER DEFECT. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD CUSTOMER CARE (SEE BELOW). THEIR RESPONSE WAS NEGATIVE. I WENT TO THE DEALER FOR WARRANTY REPAIR BUT THEY STATED THAT ALL FUSION WIPERS HAVE THE SAME DEFECT. WE CHECKED SEVERAL FUSIONS ON THEIR LOT AND ALL WIPERS TRAVEL FROM 90 DEGREES TO BETWEEN 20-30 DEGREES, NOT 0-5 DEGREES AS IN THE INTERMITTENT MODE, AND AT THE LOWER END, THE WIPER BLADE REMAINS IN THE FIELD OF VISION OBSTRUCTING THE VIEW OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR OR EVEN HEARD ABOUT ANY VEHICLE THAT DOES NOT CLEAR THE ENTIRE DRIVER'S WINDSHIELD VIEWING AREA. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD'S ENGINEERS. I HOPE TO HEAR FROM THEM SOON CONCERNING A FIX BEFORE ANYONE HAS AN ACCIDENT DUE TO LIMITED VISIBILITY DURING RAIN STORMS. TURNED ON THE IGNITION AND PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, REALIZED THE CAR WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEEL. WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING "SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC", AND "STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQ'D." THE CAR WAS SO DIFFICULT TO TURN THAT IT IS COMPARABLE TO TURNING THE WHEEL OF A CAR WHEN IT IS NOT RUNNING. A TOW TRUCK HAD TO BE CALLED TO TAKE IT TO THE FOR GARAGE. THE FORD GARAGE KEPT IT OVER NIGHT IN ORDER TO GET A PART FOR IT, THE PART WAS REPLACED AND THE CAR WORKED FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS AND THE SAME EVEN OCCURRED. *TR
THIS VEHICLE HAS A PROXIMITY STARTING SYSTEM. NO INSERTION OF A KEY IS NEEDED TO START THE CAR. THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO RECOGNIZE THE ELECTRONIC KEY TO YOUR VEHICLE. AFTER SHOPPING I CAME OUT GOT INTO MY CAR AND PUSHED THE START BUTTON WITH MY KEY FOB IN MY POCKET. MY WIFE HAPPENED TO BE SITTING BESIDE ME IN THE CAR WITH A KEY FOB IN HER PURSE. THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND A MESSAGE SAYING "KEY NOT RECOGNIZED". I TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES TO PUSH THE START BUTTON TO TRY TO START THE CAR. IT WOULD NOT START. THE KEY FOBS WOULD HOWEVER LOCK AND UNLOCK THE CAR WHICH MEANT THE CAR WAS IN FACT RECOGNIZING THEM BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START. I CALLED MY SELLING DEALERSHIP FOR ADVICE ON HOW TO START THE CAR. THEY COULD OFFER NONE. THEY SAID ALL I COULD DO WOULD BE TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THEM FOR INSPECTION. L CALLED TO ARRANGE FOR THE TOW. BUT THEN WAITING FOR THE TOW TRUCK I TRIED ONE LAST TIME TO START THE CAR BY PUSHING THE START BUTTON. AMAZINGLY AND FOR NO REASON I COULD FIGURE OUT AS I HAD DONE NOTHING DIFFERENT THE CAR DID FINALLY START THAT TIME. I DOVE OVER TO THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER OVER TWO HOURS THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH THE CAR THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED IT TO NOT RECOGNIZE MY KEY FOBS AND NOT START. THEY KEPT MY CAR OVERNIGHT BUT BY NOON STILL FINDING NO PROBLEM OR CURE TO IT THEY SAID I COULD COME AND PICK UP THE CAR. WHEN I GOT THERE THEY SAID THEY HAD CONTACTED FORD AND FORD HAD NO INFORMATION TO GIVE THEM ABOUT THE PROBLEM. I DID SOME RESEARCH MYSELF HOWEVER ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ON FORD'S OWN WEBSITE IN THE "FORUM" SECTION SAYING OTHER CUSTOMERS HAD REPORTED THE VERY SAME "KEY NOT RECOGNIZED" AND NONE STARTING PROBLEMS WITH THEIR VEHICLES. FORD SEEMS TO BE STONEWALLING ON THIS ISSUE. AND WHILE A CAR NOT STARTING WHEN YOU NEED IT TO CAN BE A REAL INCONVENIENCE IT COULD ALSO BE A REAL SAFETY CONCERN UNDER THE RIGHT CIRCUMSTANCE. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW.. IT'S BEEN A NIGHTMARE FROM THE FIRST WEEK... IT HAS A OIL LEAK.. THE CAR JERKS WHEN YOUR DRIVING BUT YET THEY SAY IT HAS TO GET USE TO MY DRIVING WELL SEPTEMBER WILL BE 5 YEARS IT SHOULD BE USE TO MY DRIVING.. YOU CAN FEEL THE CAR UP AND IT SAY YOU HAVE 300 MILES TO EMPTY DRIVE 2 MILES AND THEN IT SAYS 0 MILES TILL EMPTY.. THE RADIO AND THE AC COME ON BY THEIR SELF..THE CAR ACTED LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO CRANK, WENT AND GOT IT CHECKED, SAID THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH STARTER OR ALTERNATOR NEEDS TO BATTERY, OK GOT NEW BATTERY AND IT STILL DRAGS TO START... THIS IS THE WORSE CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED .. NOW YOU CAN BE DRIVING AND SOME MESSAGE COMES UP TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK, I DON'T UNDERSTAND I THINK THIS CAR WAS A LEMON RIGHT OFF THE CAR LOT
