TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE SHUTTERED, LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE SHIFT TO PARK MESSAGE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DURING THE FAILURE. KEN GARFF WEST VALLEY FORD (4091 W 3500 S, WEST VALLEY CITY, UT 84120) WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR FOR A NEW ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY, AS CONCLUDED BY THE CONTACT AFTER EXTENSIVE RESEARCH; WAS NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL OR WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, OPENED THE HOOD, AND NOTICED THAT THE COOLANT LEVEL WAS VERY LOW. THE CONTACT PULLED TO A SERVICE STATION AND REFILLED THE COOLANT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN HE ARRIVED AT HIS RESIDENCE, THE COOLANT RESERVOIR WAS ALMOST EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ELDER FORD OF TROY LOCATED AT 777 JOHN R ROAD, TROY, MI 48083, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS 1,000 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY LIMITATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR SUDDENLY DISPLAYED A 'WRENCH' INDICATOR WHICH STATES 'SEE OWNER'S MANUAL'. THE CAR LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE (GAS PEDAL/ACCELERATION WAS DISABLED). AFTER STEERING THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, THE CAR BEGAN TO IDLE VERY ROUGH BEFORE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF. I ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO IDLE VERY ROUGH AND THE WRENCH LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BOTH APPEARED ILLUMINATED. UPON INSPECTION WITH AN OBD II CODE READER, THE CODE 'P2111' WAS DISPLAYED. THIS INDICATED A 'STUCK OPEN' THROTTLE, RESULTING IN THE DISABLED ACCELERATION OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE CODE WAS CLEARED, THE VEHICLE STARTED NORMALLY AND WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME ON SURFACE ROADS. AFTER BRIEF INSPECTION, THE THROTTLE APPEARS TO BE MECHANICALLY IN GOOD CONDITION, AND INVESTIGATION ONLINE INDICATES MANY OTHER VEHICLES OF THIS MAKE/MODEL EXPERIENCE A FAILURE OF THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. THIS EXPLAINS THE SYMPTOMS EXEPRIENCED BY MY VEHICLE DESPITE THE MECHANICAL CONDITION OF THE THROTTLE BEING GOOD. FORTUNATELY, NOBODY WAS HURT, BUT SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN A VARIETY OF SCENARIOS, ESPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.
THERE IS A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 1. DIAGNOSED AS A COOLANT LEAK. IT IS THE SAME ENGINE THAT IS IN THE 2017 FUSION THAT HAS A RECALL ON THE ENGINE DUE TO COOLANT LEAK.
MY 2016 FORD FUSION TITANIUM ROLLED AWAY FROM WHERE IT WAS PARKED ON A FLAT CONCRETE SURFACE. IT WENT DOWN THE DRIVEWAY, ACROSS THE STREET, AND APPROXIMATELY 30 TO 40 FEET INTO A WOODEN AREA BEFORE TREES STOPPED IT. THE CAR NEEDS THE KEY IN CLOSE ENOUGH PROXIMITY TO START. THE KEY WAS IN MY PURSE IN MY HOUSE. THE CAR, WHEN ON, NEEDS TO HAVE THE BRAKE COMPRESSED TO TAKE IT FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR PARK TO REVERSE OR PARK TO ANY OTHER GEAR. SO, NO KEY. NO COMPRESSED BRAKE. NO MANUAL CHANGE OF GEARS. YET, IT STILL ROLLED AWAY. SOMETHING HAPPENED WITH THE GEAR SHIFTER. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE THE KEY IN OR BY THE CAR. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE STARTED. YOU DON'T HAVE TO HAVE YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE. AND IT GOES OUT OF PARK TO ANY OTHER GEAR. NO KEY. NOT ON. NO BRAKE. I HAD THE NC HIGHWAY PATROL COME AND THE OFFICER DID A REPORT. I HAVE CONTACTED MY INSURANCE COMPANY.
I BACKED MY VEHICLE OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT 4408 ALAN KENT DR, KILLEEN, TX, I THEN PROCEEDED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE WHEN IT WOULD NOT GO BEYOND NEUTRAL. MY CAR HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO MY RESIDENCE.
I HAVE A HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT DOOR LATCH AND THE DRIVERS SIDE REAR DOOR LATCH IN THE LAST 15 MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY ON BOTH OCCASIONS. I OPEN BOTH DOORS TO PLACE SOMETHING IN MY VEHICLE AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOORS THEY DID NOT LATCH. THEY WOULD BANG AGAINST THE LATCH BAR AND STAY OPEN. BOTH REPAIRS HAVE COST ME IN EXCESS OF $300.00 USD EACH AND THE COST OF A RENTAL CAR BOTH TIMES.
LEAKING ENGINE COOLANT INTO ENGINE CYLINDER 3, CAUSING ENGINE TO OVERHEAT AND A CRACK IN THE LONG BLOCK. RESULT: COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE. PRESSURE TEST INDICATED A 4LBS DROP IN 4 MINUTES, WHICH SHOULD NOT OCCUR IN THAT SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME. THROUGH THE ECC TEST INDICATED ERROR CODES P0304 AND P0316 AS WELL AS THAT CYLINDERS 3 AND 4 HAVE MULTIPLE MISFIRES. CONTINUED DIAGNOSIS DISCOVERED THAT COOLANT WAS COMING OUT OF THE TAILPIPE WHICH INDICATES AN INTERNAL LEAK IN THE ENGINE AND THAT CYLINDER 3 PRESSURE DROPS DURING POWER BALANCE TEST. CRACK IN ENGINE BLOCK DUE TO OVERHEATING. COMPLETE ENGINE FAILURE RECOMMEND NEW ENGINE. THIS A MFG DEFECT AND IS THE SAME AS THE DEFECT DESCRIBED IN SAFETY RECALL 17S09 THAT INCLUDES 2013- 2014 FUSIONS. FORD NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE 2015-2019 MODELS. DEFECT PRESENTS A FIRE HAZARD IF CYLINDER HEAD CRACKS IT MAY RESULT IN A PRESSURIZED OIL LEAK RESULTING IN A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ABOUT APPROX 40 MPH WHEN MY LIGHT WENT OFF SAYING THAT MY TRACTION CONTROLS WERE BOTH ON AND IN USE. IT WAS LIKE MY POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT, OUT OF NO WHERE. I WAS DRIVING STRAIGHT AND IT ALSO POPPED UP THAT MY STEERING AND HILL ASSIST WAS NOT WORKING. I WAS AFRAID TO PULL OVER AND SHUT MY CAR OFF AND BE STUCK, SO I DROVE IT DOWN THE ROAD A FEW MILES MORE AND TURNED IT OFF IN MY PARKING LOT. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. ALSO, AFTER FUELING MY VEHICLE UP, IT HAS BEEN ROUGH IDLING FOR A DEW AND THEN WILL EVEN OUT. WHEN STOPPING AT A LIGHT, IT WILL ALSO ROUGH IDLE AND EVEN BACK OUT AS WELL. I AM AT APPROX 65,000 MILES, 2016 AWD FORD FUSION TURBO. I AM DUE FOR AN INSPECTION AND OIL CHANGE NEXT WEEK AND HOPEFULLY GET SOME ANSWERS AS TO WHAT IT COULD BE. IT MAKES ME COMPLETELY SCARED NOW BECAUSE I AM A SINGLE MOTHER WITH KIDS. AFTER READING SEVERAL OTHER COMPLAINTS THAT ARE JUST LIKE MINE, THIS DOESN'T SEEM LIKE AN ISOLATED INCIDENT.
GOT IN A CAR ACCIDENT TO WHERE I EXPERIENCED INJURIES AND THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY
I WAS AT THE GAS STATION WHEN I GOT OUT OF MY CAR AFTER TURNING IT OFF WHILE I WENT INSIDE TO PAY. I WAS MOVING SWIFTLY BECAUSE I HAD TO GET BACK TO WORK. I LOOKED OUTSIDE AND MY CAR HAD ROLLED AWAY FROM THE PUMP, NEARLY IN THE CITY STREET BEFORE I REACHED IT. I IMMEDIATELY RAN OUTSIDE AFTER IT, HOPPED IN & PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE. I WAS CONFUSED WHEN I SAW THE GEAR STILL IN PARK.. IT WAS THEN THAT I LOOKED AT THE DASH AND SAW IT WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. SOME GUYS HELPED ME PUSH IT BACK TO THE PUMP AND I HAD TO PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON IN ORDER TO KEEP IT FROM ROLLING AGAIN. A NEARBY MECHANIC LOOKED UNDER MY HOOD AND DISCOVERED THAT THE 'SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING' HAD DEGRADED. I CALLED FORD AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT. THE PROBLEM WAS STILL NOT FIXED
WALKED OUT TO MY CAR TO NOTICE MY DRIVER DOOR WAS NOT CLOSED, EVEN THOUGH MY ALARM WAS SET AND ALL DOORS WERE LOCKED. FOUND OUT THE DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH (RECALL 20S15) BUT THIS PARTICULAR VIN WAS SUPPOSEDLY NOT AFFECTED. THE SERVICE WAS JUST COMPLETED FOR $240 AT THE DEALER TO REPLACE THE LATCH. 1ST PROBLEM ON HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH AIR VACUUM PACK WENT OUT ON BRAKES PROBLEM WAS FIXED ONLY TO OCCUR 3 DAYS LATER, THIS TIME AT A STOP LIGHT AND BLEW A COUPLING ON THE SAME PART. AFTER THAT IS FIXED SAME WEEK 2ND PROBLEM SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT COMES ON DAY LATER CAR LOOSES SPEED BOGS DOWN AND SHUTS OFF. MECHANIC RESET THE SES LIGHT TO TELL ME THE ECO BOOST SPORT PACK IS GOING OUT. MY CAR ONLY HAS 63K MILES ON IT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE THE SON WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH AND MAKING A LEFT TURN THE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILED WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A BRICK WALL. DURING THE CRASH THE DRIVER SUSTAINED A FRACTURED LEFT HAND AND BURNS FROM THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AWAY. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS BRAKE FAILURE BUT WAS NOT ON POLICE REPORT. THE LOCAL DEALER MATHEWS- CURRIE FORD (130 N TAMIAMI TRAIL, NOKOMIS, FL 34275 FL) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. *DT *AS*DT*JB
TL* THE CONTACT CALLED ON BEHALF OF HER SISTER WHO OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER SISTER ATTEMPTED TO PLACE THE GEAR SHIFTER INTO REVERSE HOWEVER, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS PLACED IN PARK HOWEVER, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL DISPLAYED VEHICLE WAS STILL IN NEUTRAL. THE CONTACT'S SISTER TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION AND THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ACTIVATED TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT'S SISTER CALLED CRESCENT FORD, INC (100 OLD WINSTON RD, HIGH POINT, NC 27265, (336) 869-2181) WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS NECESSARY TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V362000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. SO I BOUGHT A 2016 FORD FUSION SE AND ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER AFTER JUST BOOKING A HOTEL ROOM WENT TO MOVE MY FUSION TO A CLOSER PARKING SPOT AND AS SOON AS I STARTED IT THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN ABOVE STEERING WHEEL SHOWED A BOX THAT READ " STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED". AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING AT ALL. IT ALSO READS SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK, AND UPHILL PARKING ASSIST UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR TURNED OFF. WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AND TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE CENTER NEXT DAY. THEY ARE STILL CHECKING THE CAR BUT SO FAR THEY HAVE FOUND THE COOLANT IS LEAKING ALL OVER THE ENGINE AND WE WILL MOST LIKELY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH IT LOOKS TO BE A COMMON OCCURRENCE THAT IS NOT GETTING A RECALL FOR, EVEN THOUGH IT HAS BEEN A ONGOING ISSUE. WE JUST BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED WITH 90,000 MILES TWO MONTHS AGO.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT COOLANT LEAKED INTO CYLINDER #1 AND THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
ENGINE COOLANT LEAKING IN ENGINE - ENGINE LONG BLOCK NEEDS REPLACED AFTER 77,000 MILES. CAR OVERHEATED ON A SHORT TRIP - LOW ON ANTIFREEZE APPARENTLY IT WAS LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE BLOCK - TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER AND THEY STATED THE LONG BLOCK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED REGULARLY AND ISSUE PRIOR TO THIS WAS THE ENGINE RPM WERE ADVANCING BUT THE ENGINE SPEED WAS NOT ENGAGED- TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR AND THEY REPLACED A FUEL SENSOR - 1 MONTH BEFORE THE COOLANT STARTED LEAKING INTO THE ENGINE
WITHIN THE PAST WEEK I HAVE HAD TO TWO MY CAR TWICE. BOTH TIMES WERE DUE TO ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE. MY PROBLEM BEGAN WEDNESDAY JULY 1, 2020 WHEN MY ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED ON MY DASH. TO GIVE CONTEXT MY CAR HAD BEEN STARTING PRETTY ROUGHLY FOR A FEW DAYS PRIOR TO THIS. AFTER THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I HAD A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP TEST IT AND IT CAME BACK SHOWING A MISFIRE ON CYLINDER 2. I WAS TOLD THAT I MORE THAN LIKELY NEEDED NEW SPARK PLUGS AND A NEW IGNITION COIL. THE CODE WAS RESET UNTIL I COULD HAVE IT REPAIRED AS IT WAS THE WEEKEND OF JULY 4TH I WAS UNABLE TO SECURE AN APPOINTMENT. THE NEXT WEEK ON TUESDAY JULY 7, 2020 MY CAR WOULD NOT START AT ALL. I HAD IT TOWED TO A REPAIR SHOP AGAIN TO HAVE THE PREVIOUS WORK COMPLETED. ON STARTING MY CAR WHITE SMOKE APPEARED. I INFORMED THE SHOP THAT MY CAR HAD NEVER EXHIBITED THIS BEFORE. I WAS TOLD THAT I WAS ALSO NEED AN ENGINE FLUSH AS WELL. ALL REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED AND PAID FOR WITH THE PRICE BEING 700.00. THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER RECEIVING MY CAR BACK THE ENGINE LIGHT RETURNED AGAIN. I BEGAN THE DRIVE TO RETURN IT BACK TO THE REPAIR SHOP. WHILE ON THE WAY MY CAR SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND DISPLAYED A WARNING MESSAGE STATING "ENGINE COOLANT FAILURE". I WAS ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY MANEUVER IT TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND ONCE AGAIN HAD IT TOWED. I WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH HOW THE ENGINE WAS BUILT WHICH HAD ALLOWED COOLANT TO GET INTO THE CYLINDERS. I WAS TOLD THE CHARGE FOR THIS ISSUE WOULD BE ABOUT 8,000.00.
AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON DIAGNOSED WITH FAILED OCS SYSTEM
SLOW TO START, WHEN IT DID START THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHILE IN PARK CAR WOULD SHAKE AND I COULD HEAR A BOILING NOISE. WHEN DRIVING IT WAS SLOW TO ACCELERATE, WHEN IT DID ACCELERATE IT WOULD JUMP AS IF IT WAS CATCHING UP WITH ITSELF. EVERY 5 MINS OR SO A NOTIFICATION WOULD APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD THAT SAID COOLANT TEMPERATE OVER HEATING. TOOK IT DIRECTLY TO THE FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW ENGINE, THAT THERE WAS SO MUCH COOLANT INSIDE OF THE ENGINE IT WOULDN'T UNPLUG.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY BACK RIGHT PASSENGER DOOR KEPT SAYING IT WAS OPEN.SO AS I CAME TO A STOP I CHECK IT OUT. IT SEEMED CLOSED SO I CONTINUED TO DRIVE. THEN IT NOTIFIED ME AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE DOOR OPENED. SO I HAD TO PULL OVER AND CLOSE IT, BUT THE DOOR DID NOT CLOSE. I ATTEMPTED TO TRY SEVERAL WAYS BUT DID NOT WORK. I AM THANK FULL I DIDN'T HAVE MY DOGS IN THE CAR AT THE TIME. ITS A HUGE SAFETY FLAW. THE CAR WONT LET ME LOCK IT SINCE THE DOOR WONT CLOSE, AND THE CAR IS PARKED ON THE STREET. I DON'T HAVE A PRIVATE GARAGE. HIGHLY UPSET AT THE FLAW. HOPEFULLY IT WONT COST A FORTUNE SINCE FORD WILL PROBABLY SAY IT'S NOT COVERED. *TR
TRUNK OPENS WHILE DRIVING. AFTER CLOSING HE TRUNK IT POPS OPEN AGAIN, THE TRUNK LATCH CAN BE HEARD CLICKING. IT STOPS AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS. TRUNK THEN LATCHES. WHILE CAR IS PARKED OVER NIGHT THE TRUNK IS OPEN SOME MORNINGS.
COOLANT LEAKED INTO MY CYLINDERS CAUSING THE MOTOR TO OVERHEAT. I WAS AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN IT HAPPENED AND IMMEDIATELY PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF.
AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN THE CAR IS DEPARTING ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAY, THE CAR WOULD STOP SHIFTING OUT OF SECOND GEAR. I WOULD MANUALLY SHIFT IT TO NEUTRAL THEN BACK TO DRIVE AND IT WOULD DRIVE NORMAL THROUGH THE FIRST GEAR THEN SHIFT TO SECOND GEAR AND STAY IN SECOND GEAR UNTIL I STOP AND REPEAT THE PROCESS, FIRST GEAR THEN SECOND GEAR THEN STUCK AND REPEAT. NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG WITH MY CAR'S DRIVETRAIN SYSTEM. MULTIPLE CERTIFIED MECHANICS HAVE INFORMED ME TO CONTACT FORD FOR RECALLS ON THIS CAR'S POWERTRAIN SYSTEM HOWEVER FORD SAYS THEY HAVE NO RECALLS ON THIS MODEL. THIS SEEMS LIKE A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM SINCE IT HAPPENS UNEXPECTEDLY AT RANDOM TIME.
AT 55K MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED. WE IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER. WE ARE TOLD THAT THERE IS A COOLANT INTRUSION IN A CYLINDER AND THAT THE ENTIRE ENGINE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WARRANTY STARTED JUNE 26, 2015. THE VEHICLE WAS CHECKED INTO THE DEALER 6/30/2020, 4 DAYS AFTER THE 5 YEAR/60 MILE WARRANTY EXPIRED. DAYS EXPIRED, NOT MILAGE. WE ARE BEING TOLD BY THE DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT NOTHING WILL BE DONE TO FIX THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THE REPLACEMENT ENGINE THAT WOULD BE INSTALLED IS COMPLETELY REDESIGNED DUE TO THE KNOWN DEFECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN RETURNED TO THE CONTACT'S DAUGHTER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT TWO DAYS AFTER THE REPAIR, THE CHECK ENGINE ILLUMINATED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY INFORMED HER THAT THE VAPOR MANAGEMENT AND PURGE VALVES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.

IN JUNE OF 2020 A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT POPPED UP ON MY DASHBOARD; THEREFORE, I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE DIAGNOSED. THEY ULTIMATELY UNCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A KNOWN ENGINE DEFECT WITH MY 2.0 L 4 CYLINDER ENGINE DUE TO A COOLANT LEAK. UNFORTUNATELY, MY VEHICLE IS WITHIN 2 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE CURRENT SAFETY RECALL. THERE IS AN ACTIVE RECALL ON ALL OF THE 1.5 L THAT COVERS 2014 THROUGH 2019; HOWEVER, THE RANGE ON MY 2016 2.0 L FUSION BEGINS IN 2017. I REACHED OUT TO FORD AND THEY INDICATED THAT EVEN THOUGH I AM WITHIN 1.5-2 MONTHS OUTSIDE OF THE RECALL THEY CANNOT ASSIST ME WITH FINANCING MY OVER $7,000 REQUIRED ENGINE REPLACEMENT AND I AM QUITE DISAPPOINTED THAT THE RECALL HAS NOT BEEN EXTENDED YET. FURTHER, I AM WRITING THIS AS OF 11/1 AND IT HAS BEEN NEARLY 5 MONTHS SINCE I DROPPED MY CAR OFF AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY INDICATED THAT THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO FIX MY ENGINE AS THERE ARE OVER 8,000 OTHER RE-MANUFACTURED ENGINES ON BACK-ORDER DUE TO SIMILAR ISSUES. THE COOLANT LEAK ISSUE IS AN INCREDIBLY SERIOUS ISSUE AS IT COULD CAUSE MY ENGINE TO STALL OUT ON THE HIGH-WAY OR CITY STREETS. I HAVE SEEN COUNTLESS OTHER PEOPLE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM, AND I HOPE THAT OUR VOICES WILL SOON BE HEARD SO THAT WE CAN RECEIVE APPROPRIATE COMPENSATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER FOR THEIR POOR DESIGN AND BUILD. MY CAR STEERING WHEEL IS VERY TIGHT AND I'M WONDERING WHAT COULD IT BE IF I FIXED EVERYTHING

FILLED RESERVOIR TO MAX LEVEL AND DROVE 5 MILES HOME. NEXT DAY CHECKED FLUID AND IT WAS LOW. FILLED RESERVOIR AGAIN. STARTED CAR AND IT RAN REALLY ROUGH AT IDLE. DROVE 2 MILES CAR OVERHEATED AGAIN. CHECKED FLUID AND IT WAS VERY LOW. TOOK IT TO MECHANIC AND ENGINE CRACKED, FLUID LEAKING INTO CYLINDER. VEHICLE NEEDS NEW ENGINE. 116,000 MILES AT TIME OF BREAKDOWN. *TR

I WAS DRIVING UPON MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN IN THE CITY THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN, THE STABILITY CONTROL LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHTS ALL LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD, BASICALLY FELT LIKE THE POWER STEERING GAVE OUT. I HAVE COOLANT LEAKING INTO ENGINE CYLINDERS. BOUGHT THE CAR A YEAR AGO FROM CARVANA BEFORE PURCHASE HAD A FULL INSPECTION DONE. A YEAR LATER I HAD PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE SPITTING AND MISFIRING. LOCAL MECHANIC CHANGED THE SPARK PLUGS AND LEADS. BUT NOTICED BAD DISCOLORATION ON THE SPARK PLUGS. IVE BEEN CONTINUING TO HAVE TO ADD COOLANT AND THE CAR IS RUNNING EVER WORSE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73,000.
2016 FORD FUSION WAS SPUTTERING WHEN STARTED AND KILLED ONCE. I HAD RECENTLY BROUGHT IT TO FORD AND MY COOLANT WAS VERY LOW. THEY SAID MY SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. GOT IT BACK AND THE NEXT DAY IT WAS WORSE. WHEN I BROUGHT IT BACK TO FORD THEY THEN TOLD ME MY ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE COOLANT WAS IN MY CYLINDERS AND ON SPARK PLUGS. NOT ONLY DID THEY NOT ADDRESS THIS WHEN THEY CHANGED MY SPARK PLUGS 3 DAYS PRIOR. YOU KNOW DARN GOOD AND WELL THEY SAW THIS AND DID A COMPRESSION TEST ON MY CYLINDERS. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH MANY FORD FUSIONS AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO REPLACE MY ENGINE WHEN THEY KNOW IT IS A FACTORY DESIGN DEFAULT. MY CAR WAS SERVICED BY KOONS FORD IN BALT, MD FROM MAY 26TH-28TH TO ADDRESS A RECALL THAT REQUIRED REMOVAL OF MY ENGINE. AFTER THE REPAIR, MY CAR SAT IN MY PARKING SPACE AT HOME THE WHOLE WEEKEND DUE TO COVID-19. ON THE FOLLOWING MONDAY, JUNE 1ST, MY CAR ENGINE EXPLODED ON I83 WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS USING MY CAR TO GO TO WORK. MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FIRE AND TOTALED. FORTUNATELY, MY HUSBAND WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY GET MY CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AS THE CABIN STARTED TO FILL WITH SMOKE AND JUMP OUT. KOONS FORD TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD "SHRINK WRAP" MY CAR AT THE LOT THE POLICE HAD IT TOWED TO AND BRING IT BACK TO "INVESTIGATE HOW THE FIRE STARTED." THEY LIED AND THEN TOLD MY INSURANCE COMPANY THAT THEY DID NOT CAUSE THE FIRE. IN ADDITION, WHILE I WAS THERE WAITING IN THEIR LOBBY, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD "GET ME A RENTAL" IN THE MEANTIME WHILE THEY INVESTIGATE. NOT ONLY DID THEY LIE AND IMPLY I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR CAUSING THE FIRE, THEY TRIED TO STIFF ME FOR THE COST OF THE RENTAL. ONLY AFTER I PUSHED BACK, THEY FINALLY PAID THE RENTAL BILL. MY INSURANCE COMPANY HAS PAID FOR THE COST OF MY LOST CAR WHICH I NOW AM BEARING ADDITIONAL COSTS IN MY INSURANCE COVERAGE. MY CAR HAD ONLY BEEN SERVICED BY KOONS FORD AND WAS NOT EXPERIENCING ANY PROBLEMS PRIOR TO THEM WORKING ON THE RECALL. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT A CAR GOING ON 2 MONTHS NOW AS I CANNOT AFFORD TO TAKE ON ANOTHER 4-6 YEARS OF CAR PAYMENTS AS I WAS CLOSING ON A NEW HOME AT THE SAME TIME THE FIRE HAPPENED. ON MAY 28TH, 2020 I TOOK MY 2016 FORD FUSION HYBRID IN FOR SERVING AT 42,673 MILES, BECAUSE OF MY VEHICLES LOSS OF POWER STEERING, STEERING WHEEL STUTTER AND A WINNING SOUND WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET. MULTIPLE STEERING NOTIFICATION WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, INCLUDING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT, ADVANCE TRAC FAULT, LANE KEEPING MALFUNCTION, AND PRE-COLLISION ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. MY VEHICLES LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE IN TRAFFIC CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. ON MAY 29TH THE TECHNICIANS PERFORMED DIAGNOSTIC TEST, WHICH THEY TOLD ME INDICATED MY STEERING RACK ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND A WHEEL ALIGNMENT WOULD ALSO NEED TO DONE A WELL. PARTS WERE ORDERED AND ON JUNE 4TH THE SERVICE WORK WAS DONE. MY TOTAL COST WAS $3102.39. ON JUNE 27TH, LESS THAN A MONTH AFTER HAVING MY CAR SERVICE AND PAYING OVER $3,100.00 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF MY STEERING RACK ASSEMBLY AND 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT, PLUS DYNASTIC TEST, THE SAME PROBLEMS REOCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING, PLUS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS THE POWER STEERING SEIZED, WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE RIGHT AND LEFT TURNS WHILE BRAKING GOING DOWN HILL AND ALL THE STEERING MALFUNCTION NOTIFICATIONS CAME ON AND STEERING AGAIN BECAME DIFFICULT. I TOOK MY CAR BACK IN FOR SERVICING AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR 2 DAYS AND SAID THEY HADN'T RESET THE STEERING TRACK ASSEMBLY COMPUTER, WHICH THEY DID THEY NOW HAD TO DO LINE, BY LINE, INSTEAD OF JUST SELECTING THE RESET. WHY WASN'T THE COMPUTER RESET IN THE FIRST PLACE? INSTEAD OF CHARGING ME $3100 FOR A BRAND NEW ASSEMBLY? PLUS THE WORK ORDER AFTER MY SECOND VISIT TO SERVICE SAID THEY DID NOT SEE THE PROBLEMS I MENTIONED. A WEEK LATER THE PROBLEMS AND ALERTS WENT OFF AGAIN WHILE IN MOTION. I WILL BE TAKING MY CAR BACK IN. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ANY MORE.
