THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE RESIDENCE. ON ANOTHER OCCASION WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED THREE MESSAGES DISPLAYED: SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC, POWER STEERING LOSS DRIVE SAFELY, TRACTION CONTROL UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING CEASED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO SEELYE FORD, 3820 STADIUM DR, KALAMAZOO, MI 49008, DO BE DIAGNOSED, WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
EVAP FUEL VAPOR CANISTER PURGE VALVE ASSEMBLY FAILED. DEALER CHARGING $314.00 AND SAID FORD DOES NOT COVER THIS PART UNDER WARRANTY. THIS IS AN EMISSION COMPONENT WITH MANY COMMENTS ABOUT KNOWN FAILURE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WAS DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO HENNESSY FORD LINCOLN ATLANTA LOCATED AT 5675 PEACHTREE INDUSTRIAL BLVD, ATLANTA, GA 30341, (470) 602-2073, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING RACK AND PARKING SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V167000 (STEERING). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the parking brake engaged unintendedly. Additionally, several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle rocked back and forth. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no failure was found. The failure recurred. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
I AM FORTUNATE TO HAVE BEEN STATIONARY(THE VEHICLE) AT THE TIME OF THE CASUALTY TO MY 2016 FORD FUSION. I WAS STOPPED AT A STORE AND AFTER I PLACED MY THINGS IN THE BACKSEAT, I WENT TO CLOSE MY REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT CLOSE. THIS HAPPENED JANUARY 14TH, 2020. I WILL MENTION THAT MY 2016 FORD FUSION WAS PURCHASED IN SEPTEMBER 2016 WITH ONLY 17 MILES ON IT, BRAND NEW AT AN OVERSEAS MILITARY VEHICLE DEALERSHIP. MY VEHICLE CURRENTLY ONLY HAS 18,000 MILES ON IT. AS I HAVE NO ROPE OR TIES IN MY VEHICLE, I WAS LEFT WITH TWISTING MY ARM BEHIND THE DRIVER SEAT AND DRIVING HOME(INSTEAD OF MY DESTINATION) WITH MY ARM PAINFULLY TWISTED AROUND AS TO KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED ON THE ROAD TO NOT HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN I BRAKED OR TURNED. I WOULD SURMISE THIS AS A NOT POSITIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE POURING RAIN. FORD HAS FORMALLY TOLD ME VIA THEIR CUSTOMER CARE LINE THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY SAFETY RECALLS. FORD HAS STATED MY $2000 FORDEXTRACARE 7 YEAR/75,000 MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY ADDITIONALLY WILL NOT COVER THIS CASUALTY. I'VE FOUND EVIDENCE ONLINE THAT FORD ISSUED RECALLS FOR 2013-2015 FORD FUSIONS FOR THIS EXACT PROBLEM. I AM CONCERNED AS TO WHY MY SAFETY CONCERN AND VERY REAL CASUALTY TO MY VEHICLE WAS VALID ON THIS MODEL OF CAR A YEAR PRIOR TO MINE, BUT SOMEHOW IS NOT NOW. CAN A FORD VEHICLE WITH ONLY 18K MILES ON IT AT 3 YEARS OLD BE REASONABLY EXPECTED TO HAVE THE DOORS BREAK IN THE OPEN POSITION? I'M BEING TOLD THAT IT IS NOT A DEFECT OF THE VEHICLE AND I AM TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THIS CASUALTY TO THE VEHICLE.
TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING INTO GEAR PROPERLY MAKING A WHINDING NOISE
THE CAR SHOWED IT WAS IN PARK. IT WAS ACTUALLY STILL IN GEAR EVEN SHOWING OTHERWISE. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL (2016 FORD FUSION). THE PROBLEM WAS WITH A FAULTY, AND DETACHED SHIFT CABLE. THERE HAVE BEEN OVER 500,000 FORD VEHICLES RECALLED FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE. THIS WAS THE EXACT PROBLEM WITH OUR 2016 FORD FUSION WITH 88,101 MILES. WE JUST PLAYED A TOTAL OF $278 TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED AND THE PART REPLACED. FORD IS TELLING ME THAT OUR SPECIFIC VIN # WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL OF THE OTHER 500,000 VEHICLES THIS FAR. HOW CAN THIS COMPANY GET AWAY WITH THIS PROBLEM? I ALSO CONTACTED THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER PRIOR TO HAVING THE CAR TOWED. AFTER FINDING THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, WE HAD TO HAVE TOWED AND FIXED AND THE CLOSEST BODY SHOP TO WHERE THE CAR WAS BROKE DOWN AND STILL IN GEAR. SEAT BELTS IN BACK SEAT ON BOTH SIDES DO NOT COME OUT . WHILE TRYING TO PULL OUT THE BELTS THEY KEEP LOCKING UP AS IF IT WAS PULLED OUT TO FAST, BUT IT DOESN'T MATTER THE SPEED YOU PULL THEM OUT. I CAN NOT HAVE PEOPLE IN THE BACKSEATS. IT IS NOT SAFE. *TR
PASSENGERS AIR BAG SENSOR DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. WHEN STARTING THE CAR THE PASSENGERS AIRBAG LIGHT (0FF) COMES ON AND GOES AWAY IMMEDIATELY REGARDLESS IF THERE IS A PERSON IN THE SIT (ADULT). AIR BAG SEEMS TO BE ON ALL THE TIME WITH NO LIGHT INDICATED. DON'T EVEN KNOW IF IT WORKS
MY AIRBAG IN MY STEERING WHEEL IS POPPED UP AND THE SYNC SYSTEM FOR MY RADIO KEEPS DISCONNECTING AND JUST WILL NOT CONNECT AT ALL. DID A FACTORY RESET WITCH SOLVED THE PROBLEM FOR ONLY A COUPLE DAYS AND WENT BACK TO NOT WORKING AGAIN
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fusion. The contact stated the rear driver’s side door failed to latch properly. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the rear driver’s side door latch to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated the front driver’s side door failed to latch on 6/20/2023. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V177000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
GOT IN MY CAR THIS MORNING AND STARTED IT AND GOT CODES LIKE CRAZY. ALSO POWER STEERING ISN'T WORKING FORD FUSION STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED
WENT TO MIKE BASS FORD IN SHEFFIELD, OH FOR MY ROUTINE MAINTENANCE. VEHICLE HAS ONLY EVER BEEN SERVICED AT FORD DEALERSHIPS (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF NEW TIRES AT DISCOUNT TIRE IN AVON, OH). WAS INFORMED BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE LUG NUTS WERE SWOLLEN DUE TO THE TWO-PIECE DESIGN AND THAT THEY WOULD ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED. I WAS QUOTED $59 PER WHEEL WHICH I DECLINED. CONTACTED FORD ABOUT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY ON 1/3/2020 AND WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE, FORD WOULD NOT PAY TO REPLACE THE LUG NUTS ON MY VEHICLE.
GOT IN THE PARKED VEHICLE AND THE DISPLAY ON THE DASH SAID THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL BUT SHIFTER WAS IN PARK AND WOULD NOT MOVE. THE TRANSMISSION LINKAGE BUSHING HAD FAILED AND THE CABLE WAS NO LONGER CONNECTED TO TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A KNOWN RECALL ISSUE FOR THIS MODEL. DEALERSHIP ADVISED THE RECALL DOES NOT APPLY TO MY VIN AND I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRS.
ALL OF A SUDDEN WHEN I WAS DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THE TRACTION CONTROL ALSO WENT OFF AND WILL NOT COME BACK ON. I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT WILL NOT COME BACK ON.

MALLOY FORD (2070 SEMINOLE DTRL, CHANCELLORSVILLE, VA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAC 2521533. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO OVERHEAT WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SAT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND THEN DROVE THE VEHICLE TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO SALINAS VALLEY FORD LINCOLN (1100 AUTO CENTER CIR, SALINAS, CA 93907) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH COOLANT IN THE EXHAUST AND CYLINDER #2 MISFIRE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WITH A NEW ENGINE. THE BRAKE LINES FAILED AND WERE ALSO REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS PARTIALLY REIMBURSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.
OUT OF NO WHERE 2.5 ENGINE BLOCK ISSUES NO ACCIDENTS MAINTENANCE STAYS UP TO DATE AT ALL TIMES DIDN'T HIT OR BUMP ANYTHING WHEN TO MY CAR ONE MORNING AND IT STARTED SOUNDING LIKE A DIESEL TRUCK WHEN IN IDLE OR PARK NOISE NOT AS LOUD WHEN N DRIVE
ENGINE HAS A DESIGN FLAW THAT ALLOWS COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE CYLINDERS AND CAUSE DAMAGE REQUIRING A COMPLETE LONG BLOCK REPLACEMENT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE ENGINE OVERHEATS. THIS HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE LOCAL FORD DEALER, THEY NO IT IS IN AN ISSUE AND CORRECTED THE PROBLEM IN THE 2017-PRESENT VERSIONS OF THE FUSION
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR ON BOTH THE HIGHWAY AND ON CITY STREETS THE STEERING LOCKED AND THE POWER ASSIST QUIT. THE MIL TRACTION CONTROL SYMBOL LIT AND THE WARNING CENTER SAID IT WAS DISABLED. THE MIL STEERING ASSIST CONTROL SYMBOL LIT AND THE WARNING CENTER SAID IT WAS DISABLED. IN BOTH DRIVING INSTANCES THE STEERING WHEEL WAS BEING TURNED FROM MODERATE (INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SPEED) TURNING TO SHARP TURNING (CITY STREET SPEED). IN BOTH INSTANCES I WAS ABLE TO AVOID HITTING CLOSE, SURROUNDING VEHICLES AND IN THE CASE OF THE CITY OCCURRENCE, PEDESTRIANS. IN BOTH INSTANCES I PULLED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND ACCESSORIES. I WAITED ABOUT A MINUTE AND PERFORMED AN ENGINE RE-START. THE MIL'S WERE NOT LIT AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST RETURNED. IN BOTH INSTANCES THE SAME CONDITION APPEARED ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER, AND A ENGINE STOP/RE-START HAD TO BE PERFORMED. I HAVE INCLUDED PHOTOS OF THE DASHBOARD INFORMATION CENTER. THIS IS A 2016 FUSION WITH 65,000 MILES AND I BELIEVE THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING RACK.
THE BUSHINGS ON MY 2016 FORD FUSION BROKE. LUCKILY WE WERE PARKED WHEN IT BROKE BUT IT HAS DISABLED OUR VEHICLE. IF WE DIDN'T HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE WE WOULD BE STRANDED. WHEN WE CALL FORD CORPORATION AND THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WE ARE TOLD THAT WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR GETTING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IF IT IS THE BUSHINGS THEN THEY WOULD ONLY COVER THE REPAIR AND NOT THE TOWING OR ANYTHING ELSE. I ASKED WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I WAS DRIVING AND THEY SAID IT WOULD BE THE SAME THING. THIS IS A JOKE THAT WE SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY COST DUE TO FAULTY MANUFACTURE PARTS ON THEIR END. THEY SHOULD BE DOING MORE TO MAKE IT RIGHT. BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE MONEY RIGHT NOW TO TOW OUR VEHICLE 40 MILES TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALERSHIP WE HAD TO DRIVE IN OUR OTHER VEHICLE TO WASTE OUR GAS TO GET THE $5 PART FROM THE DEALERSHIP SO THAT WE CAN HOPEFULLY REPAIR IT OURSELVES. FORD SAID THEY'LL REIMBURSE US FOR THE PART BUT NOT FOR THE GAS TO GET THE PART.
I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. SEVERAL MONTH'S AGO I HEARD WATER SLOSHING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, OVERHEATING LIGHT ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS. THE CAR SHUT OFF ON A VERY BUSY HIGHWAY ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GET FROM BEHIND. THE CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATING. REPLACED WATER PUMP, COIL PACK, PLUGS, SEVERAL SENSORS. DDREOVER AGAIN VEH SHUT OFF SAMETHING. TOOK TO SHOP #1 FOUND COOLANT IN THE ENGINE CRACK BLOCK. NOW ITS AT FORD DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED SAMEE AS SHOP #1. CALLED FORD THEY STATED NOTHING THEY WILL DO. FORRDD EXPERT SAID SEVERAL HAS BEEN REPORTED BUT NO RECALL YET
ENGINE HAS A DESIGN FLAW THAT ALLOWS COOLANT TO LEAK INTO THE CYLINDERS AND CAUSE DAMAGE REQUIRING A COMPLETE LONG BLOCK REPLACEMENT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE ENGINE OVERHEATS. SHOP AND EXTENDED WARRANTY COMPANY SAY THEY SEE THIS OFTEN. FORD HAS SINCE RELEASED AN UPDATED DESIGN WITHOUT THE FLAW, HOWEVER HAS DONE NOTHING FOR THOSE OWNERS THAT HAVE THE FLAW.
VEHICLE SLAMMING INTO GEAR WHILE ATTEMPTING TO REVERSE. HARSH AND DELAYED SHIFTING BY THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN PARK/REVERSE/DRIVE. OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH THE BRAKE PRESSED. VEHICLE ALSO FAILING TO DOWNSHIFT TO A LOWER GEAR AFTER SLOWING DOWN.
Check engine light came on and code shown was for the turbo. I had the turbo replaced then check engine light came on again and it was showing missfire on a cylinder. This has been an ongoing battle with the turbo going out again because the engine is burning so much coolant. Recently I lost engine power driving on a main road and was almost hit from behind. This engine is flawed and should be illegal for it to be used in any vehicle. I have had nothing but trouble out of this car from the time I purchased it.
VEHICLE HAD A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREET. MULTIPLE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON INCLUDING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT AND ADVANCE TRAC FAULT. LOSS OF POWER STEERING CAUSED VEHICLE TO BECOME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL.
THROTTLE BODY/FUEL RAIL PRESSURE SENSOR FAILURE. I BELIEVE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS PART FOR THE EARLIER FUSION MODELS, BUT NOT THE 2016 MODELS, AND THAT RECALL SHOULD BE UPDATED. WHILE EITHER DRIVING UNDER 40MPH OR SITTING IDLE, THE CAR'S ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE THE ELECTRICS WOULD REMAIN ON. THIS CAN CAUSE OTHER VEHICLES TO CRASH INTO ME AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR WORSE.
WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD DURING NORMAL ACTIVITY, TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO JUMP IN AND OUT OF GEAR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON. HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST SIX MONTHS. CAN YOU PULL OVER TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON? CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES OFF; HOWEVER, WHEN YOU ENGAGE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTER FROM PARK TO DRIVE, THERE IS GRINDING. WHEN I LEAVE THE CAR PARKED FOR A DAY OR TWO STARTS UP AND DRIVES AS NORMAL WITHOUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, I HAVE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP THREE TIMES TO HAVE THE ISSUE CHECKED, BUT THEY CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM WITHOUT THE ILLUMINATION OF THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
WHEN I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE OR FINANCED IT FROM THE DEALERSHIP I ASKED FOR THE CAR FAX AND NOTICED THERE WERE TWO SAFETY RECALLS AND ASKED IF THEY HAD BEEN FIXED AND THEY GAVE ME TWO COMPUTER PIECES OF PLAIN WHITE PRINT OUT PAPERWORK THAT ONLY SAID SERVICED RECALL AND THAT THEY DID ALL THEIR SERVICE PAPERWORK LIKE THAT NOW ! I WAS DOUBTFUL UNTIL I JUST CHECKED YOUR SITE AND FOUND 8 UNREPAIRED RECALLS TO MY CAR. *TR
THIS IS THE 4TH TIME THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED. WHILE DRIVING, MY AC KICKS ON WITH NO WARNING AND I LOOSE ALL POWER TO MY CAR. IT SHUTS DOWN. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I SEE SEVERAL PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT IT AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AT THIS TIME. NO RESOLUTION CAN BE FOUND FOR THE PROBLEM. MY CAR SHUTS OFF ON ITS OWN AND THE ONLY WARNING I GET IS KNOWING WHEN MY RADIO CUTS OUT AND MY AC KICKS ON, GET TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE BECAUSE MY CAR IS SHUTTING DOWN.75 MPH ON THE BUSY HIGHWAY.
MY BACKSEAT IS STUCK DOWN DUE TO MY MIDDLE SEATBELT BEING LOCKED AND I CANNOT GET IT TO COME BACK UP. THE SEATBELT IS WAY TO TIGHT THAT THERE IS NOT WAY FOR ME TO PULL IT BACK UP.

THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LUTHER NORTH COUNTRY FORD (10401 WOODCREST DR NW, COON RAPIDS, MN 55433, (612) 424-7648) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE RE-CALIBRATED AND THE BUSHING NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-24922501. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000. THE VIN WAS INVALID.

BUT RECALL NUMBER 18S20 SHOWS IT IS VALID ON MY VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE AND THEY WILL NOT COVER THE REPAIRS . VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THERE HAS BEEN AN INCOMPLETE SAFETY RECALL CONCERN FOR MY 2016 FOR FUSION SINCE MAY . I WAS NOTIFIED IN MAY OF AN ISSUE IN WHICH TRANSMISSION GEAR SHIFTERS COULD POSSIBLY MALFUNCTION AND CAUSE GEARS NOT TO SHIFT PROPERLY. TODAY I HOPPED INTO MY CAR AND MY CAR IS COMPLETELY STUCK IN PARK AND WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS. THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE. I CAN MOVE THE KNOB BUT NOTHING HAPPENS. I REMOVED THE CENTER COUNSEL, CUPHOLDER AND SHIFT CASINGS TO TRY THE RED MANUEL SHIFT LEVER THAT IS UNDER THE SHIFT MECHANISM TO MAKE SURE IT WAS IN FACT I'M PARK, IT WAS. GREY RTV SILICONE WAS PRESENT AROUND THE PAN COVER AND FLAKED OFF WITH LITTLE EFFORT. VEHICLE WAS LAST SERVICED AT CROWN FORD LYNBROOK AFTER MANY COMPLAINTS AND NO RESOLUTION FROM FORD SERVICE ON JAMAICA AVENUE. CROWN FORD CLAIMED THEY INSPECTED THE TRANSMISSION, FOUND NO FAULT OTHER THAN BEING LOW ON FLUID. FLUID WAS DRAINED OUT FOR MEASURING AND INSPECTING.. OVER 7 QUARTS DRAINED OUT AND THE FLUID WAS VERY THIN, AND BLACK WITH SPECS IN THE FLUID.. A TECHNICIAN FRIEND SCANNED FOR CODES AND GENERIC CODE SHIFT SOLENOID D WAS PULLED..
WHILE I WAS DRIVING THERE WERE A ISSUE THAT THE TURNING LEFT AND RIGHT DIRECTIONAL WEREN'T WORKING. NOTHING WOULD COME TO THE HUD IN THE VEHICLE NO BLINKERS NEITHER SOUND. I ASSUMED IT'S AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM, ALSO THE CONTROLS FROM THE STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T WORK ASWELL. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAD FOUND NOTHING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT, DUE TO A SCARE OF THE STEERING WHEEL NOT FUNCTIONING AGAIN AND WHILE DRIVING AROUND THE BLINKER WON'T ACTIVATE WHEN ITS SUPPOSE TOO.
MY CAR'S ENGINE SHUTS OFF AFTER ACCELERATING WITH NO WARNING. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN AFTER A COLD START. IT ONLY HAPPENS AFTER A WARM START. NO ENGINE LIGHTS COME ON DURING THE PROCESS AND MY CAR REMAINS IN MOTION BUT CAN'T ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE STARTS TO SHAKE VIGOROUSLY AS THOUGH IT LOSES 1 OR 2 CYLINDERS. THEN IT SHUTS OFF. I NEED TO SHUT OFF THE CAR AND TURN IT BACK ON TO GET IT GOING, BUT IT BECOMES DANGEROUS WHEN ON THE ROAD. THIS ISSUE ONLY HAPPENS AFTER A SECOND STARTUP OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AFTER THE SECOND FAILED DRIVE, EVERYTHING WORKS CORRECTLY AGAIN. ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS KEEP WORKING WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON 4 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND BACK ON AND OPERATED AS INTENDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE DEALER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. *DT VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO GENGRAS FORD (PLAINVILLE, CT) TO BE DIAGNOSED. CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE CYLINDERS WERE GETTING COOLANT IN THEM WHICH WAS CAUSING ENGINE TO MISFIRE. FORD RECALL 18S20 FOR SHIFTER LINKAGE BUSHING. MY VEHICLE HAS THE SAME FAILURE, BUT I'M BEING TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT AFFECTED DUE TO DATE OF MANUFACTURE (12/2015). VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, BACKED OUT OF A PARKING SPACE. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT RESPOND AND WAS STILL IN REVERSE. INSPECTION AND TROUBLESHOOTING FOUND THE SHIFT LINKAGE END DETACHED FROM THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER.
THE CAR STARTED MISSING LIKE THR TRANSMISSION WAS GOING OUT TIL IT COMPLETELY STOPPED RUNNING. FINALLY HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED AND IT DID IT AGAIN. THE TAPPET ON THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP UNDER THE HOOD ENDED UP BEING THE PROBLEM. THE CAM SHAFT IS WEARING A HOLE IN THEM I JUST REPLACED IT A SECOND TIME IN 3 MONTHS. NOW I HAVE METAL IN MY ENGINE AND FORD SAID THEY HAVE BEEN SELLING THEM PRETTY QUICK SO THAT TELLS ME THERE IS A PROBLEM.
I DRIVE A 2016 FORD FUSION SE AWD WITH THE 2.0L ECOBOOST/GTDI MOTOR. I WAS AT A GAS STATION REFUELING MY VEHICLE, WITH THE 87 OCTANE FUEL THE OEM CALLS FOR ON THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABOUT 1/4 TANK BEFORE REFUELING AND I FILLED MY TANK UNTIL FULL. UPON STARTING MY CAR, I ALWAYS TURN THE KEY RIGHT BEFORE IGNITION AND WAIT FOR THE FUEL PUMPS TO DRAW GAS TO THE MOTOR, THEN START IT. STARTED SEEMINGLY FINE, HOWEVER, WHILE I WAS RESETTING MY MILEAGE TRIP COUNTERS, I NOTICED, AND FELT MY RPM'S DROP DOWN INTO THE 300-400 AREA AND MY MOTOR SHOOK MY CAR. I KIND OF WAS SURPRISED AS MY CAR HAD NEVER DONE THIS, SO I FIGURED MAYBE IT WAS JUST AN ENGINE STUTTER. BUT THEN UPON WAITING A FEW MORE SECONDS, IT DID IT AGAIN, 4 MORE TIMES AND FELT LIKE MY MOTOR WAS READY TO STALL OUT. I WAS STILL PARKED/STATIONARY BESIDE A GAS PUMP SO I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE TO GO PARK MYSELF IN AN ACTUAL SPOT SO I WASN'T IN THE WAY OF OTHER VEHICLES. I KEPT MY CAR RUNNING IN PARK TO SEE IF THE RPM'S WOULD DROP AGAIN, BUT UPON WAITING FIVE MINUTES, IT DID NOT. THE RPM'S WERE A BIT WOBBLY THOUGH ON THE TACHOMETER BUT DID NOT SIGNIFICANTLY DROP. NO LIGHTS ON THE DASH CAME ON. I WASN'T TAKING ANY CHANCES, I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE MY CAR SERVICED. TURNS OUT, MY CANISTER PURGE VALVE WAS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION. SOUNDS ALL TOO FAMILIAR, ACCOUNTING THAT FORD ISSUED A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH MANY FORD FOCUS MODELS, WITH THE EXACT SAME MOTOR. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT CAN RESULT IN CRASH/INJURY OR EVEN DEATH. NO LIGHT CAME ON FOR ME AND I ONLY CAUGHT IT BECAUSE I WAS SUPERSTITIOUS ENOUGH TO BRING IT IN REGARDLESS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
THE CAR WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALER FOR OVERHEATING 3 TIMES AND TWICE FOR COILS AND SPARK PLUGS REPAIR. UPON BUYING THE VEHICLE COMPLAINED OF CARE NOT STAYING IN GEAR. THE PROBLEM THEY CLAIMED WAS FIXED, BUT SEVERAL MONTHS AGAIN ISSUE CAM AGAIN. AT THAT TIME IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL. THE CAR HAS HAD SEVERAL WARRANTY REPAIRS. ONE OF THE FANS WENT OUT ON THE CAR. REPORTED AT 11 MPH CAR WAS HEATED AT 289 DEGREES. CAR WAS IN PARK WHEN IT PROCEEDED TO STILL MOVE FORWARD IN THE PARKING LOT. EMERGENCY BREAKS HAD TO BE APPLIED AND THE CARE WENT INTO SAFETY MODE AND WAS NOT DRIVEABLE. THIS HAS OCCURRED TWICE WITHIN TWO YEARS.

THE TRANSMISSION SLAMS AFTER LETTING OFF OF THE FUEL PEDAL AND IN BETWEEN LOWER 3-4 GEARS WHILE DRIVING. I PURCHASED MY 2016 FUSION AT MIKE BASS FORD ON 6/15/2019 WITH 29000 MILES. AS OF TODAY 12/02/2020 I ONLY HAVE 44,000 MILES ON IT. FORD WILL NOT REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, THEY ONLY OVERHAUL THE TRANSMISSION SO THE SAME PROBLEMS KEEP RETURNING. THE FUEL PEDAL ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHEN PRESSED DOES NOT ENGAGE THE CAR TO MOVE FOR MULTIPLE SECONDS WHEN DRIVING.
