DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW COMES OUT OF TRACK, OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND RAISES HIGHER THAN THE VINYL ROOF SO THE DOOR DOESN'T CLOSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES BETWEEN 3/22/01 - 7/31/01. THE LAST 2 TIMES IT MALFUNCTIONED, THE DEALER COMPLETELY REPLACED THE WHOLE WINDOW AND REGULATOR. BUT AGAIN IT'S FAILED!*AK
CONSUMER WAS BACKING UP, HIT A CURB, AND THEN WENT FORWARD ALL AT LESS THEN 10 MPH. WHEN VEHICLE WENT FORWARD, DRIVER'S AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. FORD INFORMED CONSUMER THAT AIRBAG SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED IN THIS CASE
CONSUMER WAS COMING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY AND APPLIED EMERGENCY BRAKE, AND IT FAILED, CAUSING AN ACCIDENT . DEALERSHIP AWARE OF PROBLEM. *AK
BRAKE PROBLEMS PRIOR TO ACCIDENT, BRAKES WOULD LOCK UP, AND STAYED LOCKED EVEN AFTER FOOT TAKEN OFF BRAKE PEDAL. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TWICE, COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 37 MPH VEHICLE WENT OFF ROAD AND INTO CULVERT. *AK
CLICKING NOISE COMING FROM TIRE/WHEEL HEARD BETWEEN 10-20MPH. HAVE TAKEN IT TO DEALERSHIP MORE THAN 5 TIMES AND NO SATISFACTION. DEALERSHIP UNABLE TO LOCATE SOURCE OF NOISE AND WILL NOT REPLACE PARTS. HAVE HAD PROBLEM FOR THE PAST 5,000 MILES.*AK
COMPLAINT ON MY 2000 FORD MUSTANG COUPE(ORGINAL OWNER ). VEHICLE HAS PROBLEMS RELATING TO THE POSITION OF THE CARPET AROUND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. AFTER MINIMAL USE OF THE VEHICLE ( 5000 MILES OR AROUND 3-5 MONTHS OF USE) A LARGE HOLE DEVELOPED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IF THE ACCELERATOR IS DEPRESSED FULLY OR ALMOST FULLY THE SIDE OF YOUR SHOE CAN CATCH ON THE HOLE LONG ENOUGH TO POSE A SAFTEY HAZARD OF NOT BEING ABLE TO TAKE YOUR FOOT IMMEADATLY OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, AND HAVE TO BE VERY CONCIOUS OF MY FOOT POSITION ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WHEN DRIVING TO PREVENT THIS PROBLEM NOW THAT I AM AWARE OF IT. FORD DEEMS THIS PROBLEM AS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE CAR AND WOULD NOT COVER REPLACEMENT OF THE CARPET UNDER MY BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRENTY.(WHICH IS NOW EXPIRED) PICTURES ARE AVAILABLE, PLEASE CONTACT AND I WILL FORWARD THEM TO YOU.
VEHICLE WILL INTERMITTENTLY STALL WHEN I AM ATTEMPTING TO COME TO A STOP. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I LOSE MY POWER BRAKES AND THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO HAVE TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES. DEALER REPLACED FUEL PUMP THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME THE IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE. AND THIRD THE SAME IAC VALVE. IT WILL STILL STALL. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND AM FILING THE LEMON LAW.*AK

THE SEAT MATERIAL HAS BEGUN TO DETERIOATE. IT WAS CHANGED WITH ABOUT THREE THOUSAND MILES AND HAS BEGUN ONCE AGAIN. THE PAINT HAS MANY BUBBLES IN THE CLEAR COAT. THE SHEET METAL HAS BEEN REPAIRED, BUT CAME IN WITH MANY PERTRUSSIONS. NOW SHOWING SIGNS OF BUBBLING. WINDOWS RATTLE WHEN NOT FULLY CLOSED. SUNSET FORD WILL NOT COMPLETE ANY WARRANTEE REPAIRS TO MY CAR. THEY SAID THE BUYER SHOULD BEWARE AND IT IS NOW MY PROBLEM, FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS REFUSED TO INTERVINE. *AK
WHILE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING BETWEEN 15-20 MPH HAD TO APPLY BRAKES HARD AND BOTH AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. DEALER SAID COMPUTER SHOWED VEHICLE HAD BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, THAT WAS WHY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.*AK

BRAKES FAILED RESULTING IN THREE ACCIDENTS AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FAILS INTERMITTENTLY. NLM
SEAT BELT GET STUCK. SAME SYMPTOMS AS RECAL # 99V250000. *AK
ENGINE FAILED AFTER OWNING CAR FOR ONLY 2 WEEKS. CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. TOW TRUCK PICKED IT UP, AND DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE ENGINE HARNESS WAS NOT PROPERLY WIRED. AIR CONDITIONING MADE LOUD NOISES WHEN RUNNING. DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE WATER WAS DROPPING DIRECTLY ON TO THE 1500 DEGREE EXHAUST PIPE CAUSING THE LOUD NOISE. BECAUSE THE HEAT SHIELD WASN'T PROPERLY FUNCTIONING, DEALERSHIP PLACED A PIPE UNDERNEATH TO DIVERT THE WATER.*AK

I WAS DRIVING A MUSTANG ON AN ICE ROAD WHEN I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND HIT A BIG TREE THAT WAS ON A DITCH. I HIT THE TREE WITH THE FRONT OF THE CAR. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHICH CAUSED MY HEAD TO HIT SOMETHING AND I WAS BLEEDING REAL BAD AND NOW I HAVE A BIG SCAR ON MY FOREHEAD. *AK

CPNSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 55MPH ON HIGHWAY AND APPLIED BRAKES BECAUSE HE WAS COMING TO A STAND STILL. VEHICLE WAS IN THIRD GEAR, AND THE RPMS STARTED GOING DOWN. CONSUMER SHIFTED GEAR INTO NEUTRAL, AND VEHICLE CUT OFF WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. DEALERSHIP WAS AWARE OF PROBLEM.*AK
UPON DECELERATION, VEHICLE DROPS IDLE TO 400-500 RPM AND FLUCTUATES. SOMETIMES STALLS, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING, AND BRAKES. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED, REPLACED IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE, REDUCING INTENSITY AND FREQUENCY OF PROBLEM, NOT CORRECTING IT. CAR HAS BEEN TAKEN IN FOR SERVICE THREE SEPERATE TIMES, TWICE THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. UPON CONSULTING WITH OTHER 2000 MUSTANG GT OWNERS, IT IS COMMON PROBLEM. SOME VEHICLES ARE STILL STALLING HEAVILY UPON DECELERATION. IF VEHICLE STALLS, POWER BRAKES AND STEERING ARE LOST WITHOUT WARNING, POSSIBLE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I AM ENCOURAGING OTHERS WITH SAME PROBLEM TO REPORT TO NHSTA. THIS PROBLEM WAS REPORTED TO FORD CONSUMER RELATIONS TODAY, 5/10/01. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS ON 99-2000 MUSTANG GT WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
CAR SINCE NEW HAS HAD A MULTITUDE OF FAILURES TO INCLUDE THE TOTAL FAILURE OF THE PARKING BRAKE, TOTAL EVACUATION OF THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER OF FLUID, BRAKE GO TO THE FLOOR, CLUTCH ASSEMBLY VIBRATES TO THE POINT IT IS AUDABLE IN THE CAR AND CAN BE FELT IN THE CONTROLS, REAR END CLAUNKS, THE BODY IS MISS ALLIGNED, ENGINE MISSES AT IDLE, THESE ARE ALL PROBLEMS SINCE NEW, FORD HAS JUST LOOKED AT THE CAR FOR THE FIFTH TIME AND HAS FAILED TO RESPOND TO MAJOR SAFETY ITEMS.

FUEL CONSUMPTION IS NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE, VEHICLE IS A 6CYL, 3.8 LTR ENGINE, 15GL TANK, CONSUMER GETS 200-210 MILES PER TANK, NOT 320-340 AS OWNER'S MANUAL STATES. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THIS, CANNOT REMEDY. TWICE VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP BY CONSUMER AND VEHICLE HAD BEEN DENTED WHILE AT DEALER.*AK
MY WIFE (DONNA) ON HER WAY HOME FROM WORK BECAME INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY WHEN THEY SHOULD HAVE. SHE WAS CLIPPED ON THE LEFT REAR QUARTER PANEL WHICH SPUN HER AROUND CAUSING A SECOND SUV TO IMPACT THE DRIVERS DOOR PUSHING HER AND FLIPPING HER UNTIL SHE IMPACTED A CEMENT BARRIER BETWEEN OPPOSITE TRAVELED LANES. THE IMPACT AT THE BARRIER WAS STONG ENOUGH THAT IT PUSHED THE RADIATOR AGINST THE MOTOR AND THE MOTOR TOWARD THE FIREWALL. FORTUNATELY SHE WAS NOT SERIOUSLY INJURED AND THE AIR BAGS WERE NOT NEEDED, BUT WHAT IF THAT CEMENT BARRIER HAD NOT BEEN THERE AND SHE WOULD HAVE SKIDDED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WHERE THE AIR BAGS WOULD HAVE BEEN A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR IN SAVING HER LIFE? *AK
VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT BACK UNDER THE LEMON LAW GUIDELINES. NO SAFETY DEFECT STATED. *AK

DRIVER FORCED TO PLACE MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL, DEPRESS CLUTCH, AND RESTART MOTOR, WHICH RESTARTED EACH TIME, BUT FORCED DRIVER TO ATTEMPT TO START CAR, CONTROL CAR, AND STOP CAR SIMULTANIOUSLY.*AK

CAR IS STILL NOT PROPERLY ALIGNED AND CONVERTIBLE ROOF NEEDS MORE WORK. CONCERNED ABOUT RECENTLY ANNOUNCED MUSTANG RECALL FOR PARKING BRAKE FAILURES AND SAFETY OF CONTINUING TO DRIVE AND PARK THIS CAR.*AK

CONSUMER WAS DRIVING & HEADLIGHTS WENT COMPLETELY OUT & DIDN'T COME BACK ON. WHEN PICKED UP FROM DEALER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. DEALER REPLACED THE MULTIPLE FUNCTION SWITCH, WIRING & THE HEADLAMPS. SO FAR IT HASN'T HAPPENED AGAIN. *AK
BEARINGS IN REAR AXLE FAILED. SYMPTOM WAS "WHINING" NOISE LOUDEST AT 45MPH. DEALER IS REPAIRING PROBLEM UNDER WARRANTY.
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35MPH ON HIGHWAY WHEN A DEER RAN IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. CONSUMER SWERVED AND LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE WENT UP TO AN ENBANKMENT. THEN VEERED INTO A CONCRETE WALL, AND HIT A REFLECTOR SIGN. VEHICLE WAS TOTALED. CONSUMER SUFFERED INTERNAL INJURIES. DUAL AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY.*AK
IDLE SET TOO HIGH AT STOP LIGHT IDLES UP TO 2000, JERKS FORWARD, DEALERSHIP UNABLE TO FIX. *AK
WHEN VEHICLE IS PUT INTO GEAR, FROM PARK TO DRIVE/REVERSE, AND WHEN VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP, IT WILL ACCELERATE SUDDENLY FOR A MOMENT, THEN STOP. THIS HAPPENS MOSTLY DURING COLD WEATHER CONDITIONS, AND WILL HAPPEN FROM 25 TO 50 PERCENT OF THE TIME. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT DETERMINE ANY DEFECT. A SECOND DEALERSHIP REPLACED TORQUE CONVERTER, AND VERIFIED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. IT WAS A POSSIBLE SOFTWARE DEFECT - NO UPGRADE AVAILABLE TO REPAIR DEFECT. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK
