CONSUMER STATES THAT AFTER GETTING OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND CLOSING THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR THERE WAS A FIRE THAT STARTED IN THE DOOR PANEL MELTING WIRES AND OTHER PARTS. CONTACTED DEALER AND THE DEALER NOTED THAT THERE WAS SOME SHORTAGE IN THE WIRING.*JB
BOTH DRIVERS SIDE, AND PASSENGER SIDE AUTOMATIC WINDOWS WILL NOT STAY ON TRACK. SINCE THE DAY OF PURCHASE, BOTH WINDOWS HAVE BEEN INTERMITTENTLY SLUGGISH, AND ON OCCASION, STRUGGLED TO MOVE UP OR DOWN. THE DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW CAME OFF THE TRACK FIRST, AND WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY IN 2002. AFTER 3 ATTEMPTS BY THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN 2005 TO REPAIR BOTH WINDOWS, THEY REMAIN INOPERABLE. IN FLORIDA, VEHICLES ARE ALWAYS AT RISK FOR UNDERWATER SUBMERSION, QUICK ACTION ALONG WITH PROPERLY FUNCTIONING WINDOWS ARE IMPERATIVE. *NM
WHEN LETTING UP ON ACCELERATOR CAN HEAR KNOCKING NOISE. DEALER NOTIFIED.*AK
THE PROBLEM IS THE ENGINE STALLS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM OR COLD. IT ALSO HAPPENS AFTER THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN DISENGAGED AFTER BEING AT SPEED AND THE RPMS ARE DECREASING TO THE PROGRAMMED IDLE RPM. HOWEVER, INSTEAD OF STOPPING AT THE IDLING RPM, THE ENGINE RPM DIPS TO LOW AND THE ENGINE STALLS. I LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES WHICH CAUSE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THIS HAPPENS MORE OFTEN IF I AM GOING AROUND A TURN OR TURNING ON THE AC (BOTH ITEMS REQUIRE MORE POWER FROM THE ENGINE)WHILE DISENGAGING THE CLUTCH. SIDEWALL BLEWOUT ON PASSENGER'S REAR TIRE AT 70 MPH.*AK CONSUMER ADDS HE HAD DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING VEHICLE. FORD DEALER STATED THAT BUMBER TO BUMPER WARRANTY DID NOT COVER THE TIRES. GOODYEAR WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. *TT
CONSUMERS SON WAS INVOLVED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT. WHILE IN MOTION THE VEHICLE LEFT THE ROAD AND CRASHED INTO A POLE. ALL FOUR TIRES WERE BLOWN. PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT, THE SON REPORTED THE TWO BACK TIRES HAD BLOWN OUT. ONCE WHILE HE, THE SON WAS DRIVING. THE OTHER, HIS WIFE WAS DRIVING. IN THE FATAL ACCIDENT, THERE WAS A PASSENGER WHO WAS BADLY INJURED. *JG
MY CAR IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD AND I WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE IT HAS MORE THAN 36,000 MILES ON IT. THEY WILL NOT WARRANTY IT. I THINK THERE MUST BE A PROBLEM WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. THEY ARE DESIGNED TO LAST LONGER THAN 2 YEARS. HAS ANYONE ELSE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM?*JB
TOOK VEHICLE IN FOR A OIL CHANGE DEALER STATED TO THE CONSUMER THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD A LEAK. ALSO THE VEHICLE IS IDLING VERY HIGH CONSUMER STATES THAT THE VEHICLE WILL GO AS FAST AS 15 MPH WITHOUT PUTTING HER FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. NLM *TT
LOCATION OF BRAKE LINES---THE TUBING SHOWN ON THE PICTURES ARE BRAKE LINES---THE TUBING WAS LESS THAN 1" ON THE STEEL PLATE--IT WAS SNAGGED AND TORN APART--IT WAS SNAGGED ON A PIECE OF RE-BAR THAT HOLDS A CONCRETE GUARD IN PLACE--THE LINES FOR THE BRAKES DRAINED SO FACT THAT THE DUAL BRAKING SYSTEM DID NOT WORK
THERE WAS A PIN THAT SNAGGED THE BRAKE LINES AND CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL. *JG

MANUFACTURER SELECTED OEM TIRES, GOODYEAR EAGLES, UNSAFE ON WET/DAMP SURFACES. TIRES WOULD SPIN UPON STARTING AWAY FROM STOP NO MATTER HOW GENTLY/SLOWLY YOU TRIED TO DRIVE AWAY. CAR WOULD FISHTAIL AND LOSE TRACTION (ESPECIALLY REAR (DRIVE) WHEELS) ON MODERATE CORNERS AT MODERATE SPEEDS WHILE ACCELERATING OR NOT. TIRES REPLACE AT 15,000 MILES WITH PLENTY OF LIFE LEFT ON THEM DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. REPLACED WITH GOODYEAR AQUATRED III'S. MUCH BETTER HANDLING WITH NEW TIRES.

WHENEVER I TRY AND FUEL THE CAR THE NOZZLE CUTS OFF. THIS MEANS I HAVE TO FILL CANS AND THEN TRANSFER FUEL TO THE TANK WITH A FUNNEL. *AK
EMERGENCY BRAKES RELEASED AFTER BEING PARKED. THIS CAUSED VEHICLE TO ROLL DOWN HILL. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP. MECHANIC REFUSED TO CHECK THEM DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER SEAT BEAT FAILS TO LATCH. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT IT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SEAT BELT HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES. THE VEHICLE IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 114,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 101,620.
THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED THREE TIMES AND THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILED ONE TIME ALSO, FUEL PUMP GASKET FAILED ONE TIME AND REPLACED. *YH
I HAVE A 2000 FORD MUSTANG, WHICH HAS MAJOR SEATBELT MALFUNCTION PROBLEMS. I FOUND THE RECALL ON YOUR WEBSITE AND SEVERAL AUTO WEBSITES NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER: 99V250000. THIS RECALL IS FOR 2000 FORD MUSTANGS, AND THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT WE HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH OUR SEATBELTS. BUT THE DEALER WAS SUPPOSE TO REPLACE THE SEATBELTS, AFTER VERIFYING THAT THEY WERE MALFUNCTIONING, AND NOW THEY WILL NOT. *TR

I HAVE BEEN HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY SAFETY BELT HARNESS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS NOW. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. WHEN I START TO LATCH MY SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IT WILL TWIST AND I HAVE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR AND HELP IT RETRACKED. SOMETIMES IT WON'T RETRACK PROPERLY AND I HAVE TO WEAR IT AS IS. WHEN THE BELT ISN'T LIKE IT SHOULD BE AND IF I APPLY MY BRAKES TO SUDDENLY STOP IT WON'T CATCH LIKE A SEAT BELT IS SUPPOSED TO. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT ON 12/18/2001 TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIX AND THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS CHECKED AND WAS FOUND TO BE IN NORMAL OPERATION. MY CAR DID NOT DO THIS UNTIL A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. I KNOW THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND I FEEL IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZZARD. I AM A FAITHFUL SEATBELT WEARER AND I FEEL VERY UNCOMFORTABLE WEARING THIS ONE. I UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR COMPANY DOESN'T GET IN THE AFFAIRS OF THE CUSTOMER AND THE DEALER; HOWEVER THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME MY CAR HASN'T BEEN WORKED ON DUE TO THEM NOT FINDING ANYTHING. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT THIS ISN'T THE WAY ALL FORD VEHICLES ARE STRUCTURED. IF THAT WERE TRUE I WOULD HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH IT A YEAR AGO NOT ONE YEAR AND 6 MONTHS LATER. ON 8/27/2001 I TOOK OUR CAR TO OUR FORD DEALER DUE TO IT FEELING LIT IT WAS RUNNING OUT OF GAS EVEN THOUGHT IT HAD GAS. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. ON 09/02/2001 WHILE DRIVING TO CALIFORNIA WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. DUE TO IT BEING A HOLIDAY WEEKEND IT COULD NOT BE LOOKED AT UNTIL 09/04/2001. FUTURE FORD OF ROSEVILLE CALIF. HAD TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK SENDER, CLUSTER ASY. SNDR & PUMP ASY. AND FILTER ASY. ON OUR WAY HOME FROM A TRIP TO CA. ON 05/30/02 WE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN, THIS TIME WHILE ON HWY 50 IN UTAH. THE CAR BUCKED AND ACTED LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS. IT STALLED RESULTING IN NO POWER FOR STEERING OR BRAKING. DRIVERS SEAT CAME DETACHED FROM FLOOR WHILE VEHICLE WAS GOING 35MPH. SEAT ROCKED LIKE A ROCKING CHAIR. CONSUMER HEARD A SNAP, AND SEAT FLEW BACK. DEALER WANTS THE CONSUMER TO BRING VEHICLE IN TO BE LOOKED AT.*AK

ABOUT 2 1/2 MONTHS AGO MY BOYFRIEND WAS DRIVING MY CAR. HE ASK ME IF I HAD EVER HAD THE "BRAKES NOT WANT TO WORK ON ME" I WAS DRIVING AND I CAME TO A STOP SIGN. THERE WERE 2 CARS ALREADY SETTING AT THE SIGN. WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES HARD THEY DID NOT GO DOWN AS THEY NORMALLY WOULD IT FELT LIKE SOMETHHING WAS KEEPING THE BRAKES FROM WORKING. I JERKED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO KEEP FROM HITTING THE CARS IN FRONT JUMPING A CURB THEN IT WAS LIKE THE BRAKES KICKED IN AND STARTED WORKING AND LOCKED UP.*AK

MASTER CYLINDER PROBLEMS. WAS REPLACED/REPAIRED BY DEALERSHIP AND RETURNED. BRAKE STILL MAKES FUNNY NOISE AND IS STILL "MUSHY" WHEN APPLIED. FUEL INJECTION HAS BE REPAIRED 4 GOING ON 5 TIMES NOW. ENGINE MAKES A PINGING/DIESEL SOUND WHEN DRIVEN AT CONSTANT RATE OF SPEED. SOMETIMES AT 30 MPH, SOMETIMES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SENSORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED, INJECTORS HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND STILL NOT FIXED. AT IDLE/STOP CAR JUMPS FORWARD WITHOUT ACCELORATOR APPLIED.
FTER STARTING VEHICLE RPMS GO UP AND DOWN. THEN , WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE IN REVERSE IT LAUNCHES BACKWARD VERY FAST. DRIVER HAS TO SLAM ON BRAKES TO STOP VEHICLE.*AK
CAR WAS STUCK IN REVERSE ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASSIONS. WAS ABLE TO WORK IT OUT FIRST TIME BUT HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER SECOND TIME. DEALER STATES THEY CAN NOT GET A NEW TRANSMISSION FOR VEHICLE SINCE IT HAS BEEN MODIFIED AND NO 2000 TRANSMISSIONS ARE AVAILABLE. FORD FIELD REP VISISTED DEALERSHIP AND HAS TOLD THEM TO PUT A "PATCH" ON THE SHIFT ASSEMBLY AND "SEE IF THAT WILL WORK". WHEN I QUESTIONED FORD FIELD REP WHO THE NEXT PERSON IN CHAIN OF COMMAND TO SPEAK WITH ABOUT PROBLEM, HE INDICATED THERE WAS NO ONE ABOVE HIM; THAT HE RESOLVES ALL PROBLEMS. DEALERSHIP HAS BENT OVER BACKWARD TO TRY TO HELP ME; PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE WITH FORD CORP. FORD'S CUSTOMER CARE SERVICE DEPT. HAS NOT RESPONDED TO MY E-MAIL.*AK

PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEWOUT WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING IN THE RAIN ON I-20. I CONTACTED TWO GOODYEAR DEALERS WHO BOTH TOLD ME THAT THE GOODYEAR EAGLE GA WAS WEARING OUT ABNORMALLY FAST ON MUSTANGS. TWO OF THE TIRES ONLY HAD 3/32 OF TREAD REMAINING A( DOT NUMBER: )
WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN STEPPING ON BRAKES POWER SEAT WILL AUTOMATICALLY RELEASE ITSELF. POWER SEAT WILL EITHER GO FORWARD OR BACKWARD, AND LOCK ITSELF IN THAT POSITION.THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY. CONTACTED DEALER AND CAN'T FIND PROBLEM.
