LUGS: NUTS FELL OFF. CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY DEALER THAT HE SHOULD RETORT LUGS: NUTS AFTER SO MANY MILES. BUT NOTHING WAS MENTIONED IN THE DRIVER'S MANUAL.*AK CONSUMER STATED THAT HE FOUND TWO OTHER LUG NUTS FOUND LOOSE. *YH
TRANSMISSION WILL DRAG ON DECELERATION AND THEN FREEWHEEL. EXAMPLE: GOING 60 MPH, TAKING FOOT OFF ACCELERATOR THE CAR WILL FREEWHEEL UNTIL IT HITS 50 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION THEN ENGAGES, LIKE THE BRAKES WERE PUT ON LIGHTLY, AT 40 MPH THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGES AND THE CAR THAN FREEWHEELS AGAIN. A VIBRATION IS FELT IN THE DRIVERS SEAT WHEN THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGES( AT 50 MPH ) AND IS MORE PRONOUNCED AT HIGHER SPEEDS. THIS HAS BEEN A CONTINUOUS ACTION SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER 3 OR 4 TIMES AND I AM TOLD THERE IS NOTHING WRONG, THAT IS HOW THE TRANSMISSION WORKS. I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE THAT THE DEALER KNOWS WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT. I THINK THE WARRANTY OF THIS TRANSMISSION SHOULD BE INCREASED BEYOND THE THREE YEARS AS PROVIDED BY FORD. THIS FORD MUSTANG WAS PURCHASED ON OCT. 30, 2001 AND THE WARRANTY RUNS OUT IN OCT. THIS YEAR(2004). THE CAR ONLY HAS 6500 MILES ON IT AT THIS TIME. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH ACCELERATOR PEDAL FELT FLOPPY. CONSUMER CHANGED GEAR , LET FOOT OFF ACCELERATOR, AND VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. CONSUMER APPLIED CLUTCH TO SLOW VEHICLE DOWN. VEHICLE IS AT DEALER AT THIS TIME.*AK
WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 60 MPH SEPENTINE BELT CAME OFF AND CAUSED LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND MADE REPAIRS. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS MATTER.*AK
WHILE TURNING AT 30MPH, VEHICLE STALLS WITH NO WARNING. DEALER NOTIFIED. CAUSE UNKNOWN.*AK THIS VEHICLE LOSES ALL ELECTRICAL POWER INCLUDING THE IGNITION. THIS VEHICLE IS STILL IN THE POSESSION OF THE DEALER. *JG
2002 FORD MUSTANG AIR BAGS DEPLOYED WHEN THE VEHICLE HIT A POTHOLE.***NO ANSWER REQUIRED***. *MR THE VEHICLE BOTTOMED OUT WHEN IT HIT A POTHOLE. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT BUMPER OR ANY OTHER PART OF THE VEHICLE YET THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. *NM
PROBLEM WITH TIRES AND TRANSMISSION KEEPS STICKING. INTERIOR PILLAR LOOSE
CARS SHOULD HAVE FRONT REFLECTORS TO AVOID ACCIDENTS LIKE MINE WHERE THE OTHER DRIVER HAS NO LIGHTS ON
CAR STALLS OCCASIONALLY WHILE COASTING AND CLUTCH IS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. CAR HAS BECOME VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE DUE TO THE FACT THAT IT COULD DIE AT ANYTIME AND IT LOOSES POWER STEERING AND BREAKING BECOMES VERY SLUGGISH. DON REID FORD (MAITLAND, FLORIDA) SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. *AK
VEHICLE WOULD LOSE POWER AT DIFFERENT TIMES AND SPEEDS. MASS AIR SENSOR REPLACED, BUT THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT THERE WAS NO GASKET. ALSO, MECHANIC FOUND THAT THERE WAS TOO MUCH AIR WHERE FILTER WOULD BE. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS.*AK
STALLING AFTER ACELERATION. *AK
ENGINE STALL DURING BRAKING AFTER HARD ACCELERATION WHILE IN NUETRAL AND PRESSING THE CLUTCH. DT
OWNER DESCRIBES FAILURE AS INTERMIITENT LOSS OF ENGINE, SHUTTING OFF WITH NO WARNING. SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT ALL ELECTRICAL POWER FAILS. DEALERSHIP DID A DRIVE AND MAINTENANCE CHECK. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE OWNER. NOW THE ENGINE KEEPS HIGH ACCELERATION WITH THE RPM CONSTANTLY IN THE "RED" EVEN WITH FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. PROBLEM CAN'T BE DUPLICATED SO THE DEALERSHIP DOESN'T HAVE AN ACTUAL FIX. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. MR
THE VEHICLE BUMPER WAS COMING OFF (STICKING OUT ON THE SIDES). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO INDICATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS CAUSED BY TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE CAR WASH. *NLM
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT HAVING ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUTDOWN ,LEAVING THE CONSUMER WITH NO STEERING POWER OR BRAKE POWER TO HANDLE THE CAR.DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND HAS ASKED THE CONSUMER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE INTO THE SHOP TO BE SEEN. *AK
BOTH FRONT SEAT BELTS FAILED TO RETRACT BACK INTO THE HOLSTER WHEN THEY WERE UNFASTENED. THE DEALERSHIP WILL BE CONTACTED. THE CAUSE HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED. *JB
