COMPLAINT REGARDING THE HASSLES THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED WHILE TRYING TO PURCHASE A FORD MUSTANG. *PH DAMAGED HOOD, PAINT CHIPS ON THE VEHICLE AND DIFFICULTY GETTING THE 115 POINT INSPECTION FOR THE VEHICLE. GLOVE COMPARTMENT WAS MISSING. *PH
INTERMITTENT PROBLEM IN WHICH ENGINE WILL RACE WHEN APPLYING BRAKES, AND FOOT OFF OF GAS PEDAL. USUALLY OCCURS WHEN STOPPING AT STOP SIGN OR PULLING INTO PARKING PLACE. CAR WILL COME TO ALMOST COMPLETE STOP AND THEN THE ENGINE WILL RACE AND THE CAR WILL LURCH FORWARD, AND BRAKES CANNOT STOP CAR. BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT STOPPING VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL OR PARK TO STOP THE VEHICLE. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION.AR IS AT FORD DEALER PRESENTLY.*AK
WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT LOW SPEED VEHICLE HIT A SMALL CURB AND THE FRONT AIR BAGS INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. THERE WAS NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE CAUSE OF THE DEPLOYMENT HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED. *AK
DRIVER'S SIDE ELECTRIC WINDOW SWITCH DOES NOT FUNCTION SPORADICALLY. *AK
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,ON AUG. 26, 2003 AT AROUND 9:45 PM I WAS IN A TERRIBLE CAR ACCIDENT IN MY 2002 FORD MUSTANG ,IN WHICH MY AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE POINT OF IMPACT WAS APPROXIMATELY 50-55 MPH HEAD ON AND I WAS ALSO STRUCK FROM BEHIND. I AM VERY ANGRY THAT MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AT THE POINT OF IMPACT, ESPECIALLY WITH THE ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND SENSORS INSTALLED ON MY VEHICLE. THE POLICE WERE ALSO VERY WORRIED AT THAT FACT. I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY LEGAL ACTION I CAN TAKE AGAINST FORD MOTOR CO. FOR JEOPARDIZING MY SAFETY. JASON HIRST. *AK

CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK. THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS ALOUD NOISE WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN ANY GEAR AND THEN THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE CONSUMER ALSO BELIEVED THE SPEEDOMETER WAS NOT WORKING CORRECTLY. THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WAS LOOSE, THE TAIL LIGHT LENS HAD CONDENSATION, THE WINDOW SEAL TRIM CAME OFF AND THE WINDOWS MADE UP WHEN UP OR DOWN. *JB *NLM
WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING VEHICLE SHUT DOWN AND WILL NOT RESTART. *AK
WHILE TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY AND WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RUN INTO A GUARDRAIL. *AK
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF SUDDEN THE CAR LOST ALL POWER WHICH I COULD NOT TURN OR BRAKE AND I ALMOST HIT THE PILLAR OF A BRIDGE. TOOK IT TO FORD AND SAID THEY DID NOT FIND ANY PROBLEMS. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN REBUILT BECAUSE OF GRINDING IN TRANSMISSION. IT WAS BUILT 10,000 MILES AGO, IT STARTED DOING IT AGAIN. ALSO I HAVE TALKED TO OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM WHERE THE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CODES ARE BEING THROWN FROM THE COMPUTER. NOBODY HAS FIGURED IT OUT YET. I TOOK THE CAR TO FORD, THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIND WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR...THEY WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT APART. DIDN'T DO THAT BECAUSE I COULDN'T AFFORD IT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND, THE CAR ONLY HAD 49,000 MILES ON IT, I EXPECT THE CAR NOT TO GIVE ME THIS MUCH TROUBLE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING, AT 55 MPH THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION. GOODYEAR TIRE, P225/55R16. *AK. THE SECOND TIME WHILE DRIVING 10 MILES PER HOUR, THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE EXPERIENCED TREAD SEPARATION, ON BOTH OCCASIONS THE RIMS WERE DAMAGED. *TS *JB
SUBJECT:AIRBAG FAILURE COMMENTS: TWICE NOW MY SON HAS HAD AN ACCIDENT WITH HIS 2002 MUSTANG AND THE AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. FORTUNATELY HE WAS NOT HURT. MY MAJOR CONCERN IS THAT I HAD THE AIRBAG SPECIFICALLY TESTED AT THE REPAIR SHOP AT THE LAST REPAIR BEFORE ACCEPTING DELIVERY OF THE CAR. I WAS TOLD SOMEONE IS HIRED BY THE REPAIR SHOP TO COME OUT AND RUN TESTS BY HOOKING UP INSTRUMENTS TO THE CAR AND GETTING A READ OUT. TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE THIS WAS DONE BUT MY SON JUST HAD HIS 2ND ACCIDENT AND HIS CAR HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER AT BETTER THAN 40 MPH AND THE AIRBAG STILL DID NOT DEPLOY. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO CONSUMER SERVICE AT THE FORD WEBSITE BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SON'S FUTURE USE OF THIS CAR AND THAT FACT THAT MY WIFE OWNS AN IDENTICAL MUSTANG OF THE SAME MANUFACTURED YEAR OF 2002. I OWN 2 / 2002 FORD MUSTANGS. MY SON HAS BEEN IN 2 ACCIDENTS WITH HIS WITHIN THE LAST YEAR AND IN BOTH INCIDENTS HIS AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY. THE FIRST ACCIDENT MAY HAVE A REASONABLE EXPLANATION BUT THE 2ND ONE WAS AN ACCIDENT THAT INVOLVED HIM HITTING A CONCRETE BARRIER AT BETTER THAN 40 MPH. I HAD THE AIRBAG TESTED WHEN REPAIRED ON THE 1ST ACCIDENT AND APPROVED. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT FUTURE PROTECTION FROM THIS DEVICE AND FORD ACTUALLY EXPECTS ME TO PAY FOR ADDITIONAL TESTING. WHILE PARKED ON AN INCLINE VEHICLE WILL SHAKE AND THE BRAKES WILL NOT HOLD. *AK
THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND VIBRATED WHILE DRIVING WHICH ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE ALSO STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ENGINE WITH A RE-MANUFACTURED ONE. *AK *CB *NLM
SCHEDULED JUNE 2ND 2003 REPAIR. FORD IS TRYING TO SELL ME AN EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN IN WHICH IT WILL COVER A RENTAL CAR DURING THE REPAIR. EVEN THOUGH THE REPAIR FALLS WELL WITHIN THE FACTORY WARRANTY. THE REPAIR WILL TAKE 3 DAYS TO COMPLETE.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION STICKS, IT WON'T GO INTO TO GEAR OR COME OUT OF GEAR. ESPECIALLY FIRST, SECOND, AND REVERSE. WE HAVE BEEN STUCK IN TRAFFIC AND NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET OUR CAR INTO FIRST GEAR. I HAVE AT TIMES, HAD TO SPEND 5 MINUTES TRYING TO GET OUR CAR IN REVERSE. ALREADY CAUSED ONE ACCIDENT, AND MANY MORE NEAR MISSES. ALSO TICKING/RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM CLUTCH AT ALL TIMES. DEALERSHIP IS COMPLETELY UNHELPFUL. THEY SAY THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO THEIR IS NO PROBLEM.
WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE SIDE.*JB
THE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE IT STALLED AGAIN AND SOMETIMES DOES NOT START AT ALL. *NLM THE CONTROL VALVE WAS CHANGED WITH NO CODES SHOWING IN THE SYSTEM. BEFORE, THE MECAHNIC STATED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS DUE TO THE WEATHER AND THE GAS. THE RIGHT REAR TIRE HAD A BUBBLE IN THE SIDEWALL AND WAS REPLACED. SCC
CONSUMER PURCHASED VEHICLE "NEW" FROM DEALERSHIP WITH 16 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE THE CONSUMER BEGAN HEARING A "SQUEALING" NOISE COMING FROM REAR SUSPENSION WHILE DRIVING. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN A FRONTAL AND REAR COLLISION PRIOR TO SALE AS NEW. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DIFFERENT BODY SHOPS AND CONFIRMED DIAGNOSIS. THE DEALER ADMITTED THAT VEHICLE HAD BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT PRIOR TO SALE AS NEW, BUT ADVISED CONSUMER IT IS MANUFACTURER'S PROBLEM. CONSUMER CONTACTED MANUFACTURER WHO ADVISED IT'S A DEALER ISSUE. *NLM
AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT DURING A RAIN STORM. I ATTEMPTED TO PULL OUT AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN THE MOTOR DIED. I STARTED THE CAR RIGHT BACK UP. THE NEXT DAY MY BELT STARTED SQUEAKING. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE. ALSO, DURING THE FIRST 10 DAYS OF BUYING THE CAR THE THROW OUT BEARING HAD TO BE REPLACED.
THE VEHICLES FUEL PUMP FAILED AND CAUSED THE ENGINE TO CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH. THE PUMP WAS REPLACED ONCE PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT. *NLM.
THE AXLE BROKE, WHICH CAUSED THE REAR WHEEL TO FALL OFF, CONSEQUENTLY THE DRIVER LOSS CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. *JB
I WAS ALMOST KILLED YESTERDAY (2-12-03) AS I DROVE MY 2002 FORD MUSTANG IN BUSY TRAFFIC. SUDDENLY THE CAR LOST ALL POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKES. I PRACTICALLY WRENCHED MY BACK AS I FORCIBLY STEERED THE CAR AND USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO PULL SAFELY TO THE CURB. FORD ROADSIDE SERVICE ARRIVED AND DISCOVERED THE SERPENTINE BELT HAD COMPLETELY COME OFF AND WAS DRAGGING ON THE GROUND. GALPIN FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE BELT BUT SAID NOTHING ABOUT POSSIBLE DEFECTS TO THE BELT OR THE CAR. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR - WHAT HAPPENS IF THE BELT COMES OFF WHEN I AM ON THE FREEWAY?

THE CONSUMER WAS AT A INTERSECTION IN PROCEEDING TO PULL OUT. ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN THE RED LIGHT AND HIT HER HEAD ON. THE DUAL AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY AT ALL. PLEASE FURNISH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. MR
CONSUMER STATES THAT THE ABS SYSTEM ON THE VEHICLE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY, WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. DEALER REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND STILL REOCCURRING THE PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. MR
ON NOV. 3RD OF THIS YEAR MY SON HAD A BLOW OUT WITH ONE OF THE NEW EAGLE LS TIRES. HE WAS PULLING INTO A DRIVEWAY AND HIT THE CURB WITH HIS FRONT RIGHT TIRE. HE TOOK THE TIRE TO A GOODYEAR DEALER AND TOLD HIM WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE DEALER TOLD HIM THAT HITTING THE CURB CAUSED THE TIRE TO BLOW. THIS TIRE HAD ONLY 2341 MILES ON IT AND I DO NOT THINK THAT HITTING A CURB WHILE ENTERING A PARKING LOT SHOULD CAUSE THIS TIRE TO BLOW. THIS PAST WEEKEND I WAS LOOKING OVER THE OTHER TIRES AND FOUND A BULGE ON THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED ANY OTHER COMPLIANTS ABOUT THIS TIRE. THE TIRE WHICH I AM ASKING ABOUT IS THE P225/55R16 94T S1 EAGLE LS. CAN YOU PLEASE GET BACK TO ME WITH ANY INFORMATION THAT YOU MAY HAVE ON THIS TIRE. DT
WHILE DRVING GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK TO THE FLOOR. CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO BRAKES, AND VEHICLE SLOWED TO APPROXIMATELY 55MPH, BUT WOULD NOT STOP. CONSUMER THEN COLLIDED WITH THE CURB. VEHICLE CHECKED BY DEALER, WHO ADVISED CONSUMER THAT AN ENGINE PROBLEM EXISTED. *AK
CAR HAS BEEN REPAIRED 4 TIMES AND STILL HAS VIBRATION AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. MANUFACTURER TELLS ME THIS IS NORMAL. MR
WHILE BRAKING THE VEHICLES ENGINE DIED. WHEN THIS OCCURRED THE CONSUMER WAS NOT AWARE THAT THE ENGINE HAD DIED UNTIL HE ATTEMPTED TO PRESS THE ACCELERATOR. *NLM
THE CAR DIES UNEXPECTEDLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON BUT THE DEALER SAYS THAT THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, (WHILE THE CAR IS IDLING AND WHEN THE CAR IS IN GEAR MOVING). FORD SAID THAT THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BUT THEY CANNOT FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE WHEN THE DIAGNOSTIC CHECK IS DONE NO PROBLEM CODES ARE RECORDED. HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM OCCURRING AND WHAT CAN I DO TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED.*AK
THE CAR INTERMITTENTLY STALLS ON DECELERATION. WHEN DECELERATING TO A STOP, PUSHING IN THE CLUTCH AND BRAKING WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO DIE. THERE IS NO WARNING OR DEFINITE RATE OF SPEED OR RPM. IT OCCURS OCCASIONALLY. THE DEALER ATTEMPTED TO FIX BY ADJUSTING THE VOLTAGE ON THE THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH, SECOND REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER. THE THIRD OCCURANCE STATED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE WHEN THE CAR DIES WHILE BRAKING, YOU LOSE POWER STEERING AND BRAKING ABILITY.*AK
VEHICLE WOULD STALL ON TAKE OFF AND EVENTUALLY BEGAN TO STALL WHILE IN MOTION (45 MPH) WHICH WOULD CAUSE ALL POWER ASSISTED OPTIONS TO FAIL, NEARLY CAUSING MANY WRECKS. TRAVELING 65 MPH THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW AND IT FELT AS IF THE CRUISE WAS STUCK, BUT THE CRUISE HAD NEVER BEEN ENGAGED. TAKEN TO DEALER BUT COULD NOT GET PROBLEM TO HAPPEN IN SERVICE. CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER SAID COULD NOT HELP, CAR BURNED TO GROUND.DEALER WOULD NOT EVEN GIVE ME A LOANER CAR, STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION. NO SAFETY EFECT LISTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 25MPH VEHICLE STARTED TO SMOKE, PULLED OVER TO CHECK. VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE. VEHICLE WAS TOTALLED.*AK

DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT IS VERY SENSITIVE, IT WILL RETRACT WHEN VEHICLE HITS THE SLIGHTEST BUMP IN THE ROAD. DRIVER HAS TO UNHOOK SEAT BELT FOR SEAT BELT NOT TO RETRACT. *AK *TT
I HAVE A 2002 FORD MUSTANG GT THAT I BOUGHT NEW. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK ON 2/16/09 & I HEARD A LOUD SOUND LIKE SOMEONE HAD HIT UNDERNEATH MY HOOD WITH A HAMMER SO I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER & TURNED THE CAR OFF. I SMELT A SMOKE / BURNING SMELL & WHEN THE HOOD WAS RAISED THERE WAS NO FIRE. IT WAS 31 DEGREES & I HAD NO CELL PHONE SERVICE SO NEEDLESS TO SAY WAS I LATE FOR BUT I WAS STRANDED. I WAS THERE FOR 45 - 50 MINUTES BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO INTOUCH WITH SOMEONE. IT COST 75.00 TO HAVE IT TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP & THEY ARE SAYING IT BLEW A SPARK PLUG THROUGH THE COIL & CRACKED THE VERY FRONT PULLEY. THEY HAVE NOT SAID WHETHER IT HAS PUT A DENT IN THE HOOD / FENDER. THEY WILL CALL ON 2/17/09 WITH THE FINAL ESTIMATE & REPORT. THE SERVICE DEPT SAID THAT IF IT HAS MESSED UP ANY HEADS THEN I WILL BE LOOKING AT 1500.00 EACH HEAD.... THERE IS ENOUGH OF PEOPLE THAT THIS HAS HAPPEN TO. NOT ONLY IS THIS AGGRAVATING BECAUSE OF THERE NEGLECT TO PRODUCE A VEHICLE THAT IS SAFE. BUT THIS CAN HARM WHOM EVER IS THE VEHICLE @ THIS TIME. MY VEHICLE COULD NOT BE MOVED ANY FURTHER BECAUSE OF THIS IT HAD TO BE TOWED. I FEEL THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS PROBLEM THAT IS HAPPENING TO ALOT OF US RIGHT NOW BECAUSE OF THERE NEGLECT. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A NEW / ANY PETITION TO SIGN.
