TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FORM THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT FRAME WAS DAMAGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOO UNSTABLE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UNIVERSAL AUTO LLC (491 WEST MAIN STREET, GREENWOOD, IN 46142) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE LIFTERS, TIMING CHAIN, AND TIMING CHAIN KIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS LEAKING OIL AND WHITE SMOKE WAS FORMING ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND FAILED TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE USED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.

FORD SENT ME A RECALL NOTICE TELLING ME NOT TO ALLOW ANY PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE AIRBAG HAS BEEN REPLACED. THIS IS MY WORK CAR AS I AM IN REAL ESTATE AND THE LOSS OF THE CAR WOULD SERIOUSLY AFFECT MY BUSINESS. I HAVE SPOKEN TO FORD LOCALLY AND NATIONALLY AND THEY SAY THAT THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE A LOANER CAR AS A RESULT OF THIS DEFECT REGARDLESS OF THE EFFECT ON MY BUSINESS. TAKATA RECALL. FORD SENT A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE DATED DECEMBER 2017, IN REGARDS TO A PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR: 16S26. IN THIS LETTER, FORD TELLS ME THERE WILL BE NO PARTS AVAILABLE UNTIL AT A MINIMUM OF SPRING 2018, AND WORD FOR FORD: "WARNING: UNTIL REMEDY PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE, DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO SIT IN THE FIRST ROW PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIR BAG COULD RUPTURE DURING DEPLOYMENT IN A CRASH AND CAUSE INJURIES OR DEATH. WHEN THE FRONT ROW PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT OCCUPIED, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WILL NOT DEPLOY, ELIMINATING THE RISK." FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS STATED THERE ARE NO LOANERS DUE TO THIS..JUST THAT I CANNOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS IN MY CAR. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE FOR MYSELF AND MY FAMILY, AND FIND IT RIDICULOUS MY ONLY OPTION IS TO NOT HAVE ANY PASSENGERS. FORD NEEDS TO LEGALLY PROVIDE A RENTAL CAR AS THEY FEEL THEY DON'T NEED TO ASSIST THE CUSTOMERS THEY ARE PUTTING IN DANGER.

THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM THE AIR BAG. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED AN ARM INJURY THAT DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V319000 AND 16V384000 (AIR BAGS). THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. RE: NHTSA RECALL 16V-384: IN JULY 2016 FORD ANNOUNCED A RECALL BUT NEVER HAD THE PARTS READY. IN DECEMBER 2017 FORD SENT A LETTER STATING THAT THEY ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE PARTS. THEY ALSO SUGGEST NOT TO USE THE PASSENGER SEAT UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. THIS IS A JOKE. IF THAT ISSUE IS SO RELEVANT TO SECURITY, HOW CAN FORD AFFORD TO DO NOTHING OVER AN 18 MONTH PERIOD. ALSO, HOW CAN THEY SUGGEST THAT WE NOT USE THE PASSENGER SEAT (OTHER THAN TO COVER LEGAL EXPOSURE). ARE WE SUPPOSED TO BUY ANOTHER CAR TO BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TOGETHER??
I PURCHASED MY CAR NEW MARCH 1, 2005. I HAVE DONE ALL OF THE SUGGESTED MAINTENANCE THROUGH THE DEALER. IN 2011 - WATER POURING IN UNDER DASH FRONT PASSENGER FLOOR. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY COULDN'T FIND THE LEAK. I STARTED TO WET VACUUMING THE WATER OUT. THEN THE CAR STARTED TO SMELL LIKE MOLD. I FINALLY CALLED MY NEPHEW WHO WORKS FOR FORD IN ANOTHER CITY. HE CLEANED OUT THE DRAIN IN FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DRIED OUT THE CAR. WHY DIDN'T THE MECHANIC AT LANDMARK KNOW ABOUT THE DRAIN? AROUND THIS TIME THE CAR STARTED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK ITSELF WHILE PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY. CALLED DEALER NO HELP. CALLED NEPHEW HE SAID WIRING ISSUE. THE LOCKING AND UNLOCKING STOPPED. SINCE THEN THE LOCKS TRY TO RELOCK ANYTIME I ACCELERATED FROM A FULL STOP. I HAVE FOUND MY WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN. I NEVER LEAVE MY WINDOWS DOWN. I AM A BIG STICKLER WHEN IT COMES TO LOCKING MY CAR UP AND I DON'T LEAVE MY WINDOWS DOWN. IT HAPPENED AGAIN THIS LAST WEEK. NEXT CAME THE TRUNK. IT WOULD UNLOCK WHILE I WAS DRIVING. FINALLY REMOVED THE FUSE TO MAKE IT STOP. THE NEXT FAIL WAS THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. NOTHING WORKS RIGHT. SPORADICALLY THE SPEEDOMETER WORKS BUT CAN STOP ANY TIME. LUCKILY THE ODOMETER WORKS SO I USE THE TRIP METER TO KNOW WHEN TO GET GAS. RIGHT NOW MY CAR LIES DEAD IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE CD CHANGER STARTED SHUFFLING CD'S WHEN THE CAR WAS RUNNING OR PARKED. PROBLEM WAS IT HAD NOT BEEN TURNED ON. I HAVE ON OCCASION SMELLED SMOKE IN THE CAR WHILE DRIVING. FROM RESEARCHING THE INTERNET, EVIDENTLY THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHORTING OUT DUE TO WATER GETTING INTO THE FUSE BOX DUE TO THE DRAIN ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. MY CAR ONLY HAS 107000 MILES ON IT. FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAS KNOW. THEY NEED TO MAKE IT RIGHT. OH AND TO TOP IT OFF, I TOOK IT TO A FORD SPECIALIST AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. $370 LATER MY CAR IS STILL DEAD.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE BEEN ASKING MY LOCAL DEALER WHEN THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WILL BE REPLACED. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE SAME QUOTE FOR YEARS, "WHEN FORD FINDS A NEW SUPPLIER FOR THE TAKATA AIR-BAG WE WILL HAVE ONE FOR YOU". MY FAMILY CANNOT RIDE IN MY PASSENGER FRONT SEAT. IF THIS IS A MANDATORY RECALL, THEN WHY ISN'T FORD MADE TO REPLACE THE PART? WHY CANNOT FORD JUST USE A NEW AIRBAG IN PLACE OF THE OLD AIR-BAG? I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY MANY MECHANICS THAT THE FRONT DASHBOARD OF RECENT YEAR MUSTANGS TAKE THE SAME STYLE OF AIRBAG. IF ANOTHER PERSON IS INJURED, IT WILL BE ON THE HANDS OF NHTSA FOR NOT FORCING THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG. I LIVE IN ONE OF THE HOTTEST, MOST HUMID CLIMATE CHANGING AREAS IN THE USA. SUMMERS OF HUMID 105 F. DEGREE, AND WINTERS DOWN TO 20 DEGREES. MY MUSTANG IS A CONVERTIBLE AND RECEIVES 100% OF THE HUMIDITY WHEN THE TOP IS DOWN.
I CONTACTED MY FORD DEALERSHIP TO SCHEDULE THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG. THEY TELL ME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PART AND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WAITING 1.5 YEARS TO GET THE PART. THE DEPLOYMENT OF DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS COULD RESULT IN DEATH. THE FACT THAT THE REPLACEMENT PART HAS BEEN ON ORDER FOR 1.5 YEARS AND HAS STILL NOT BEEN SENT TO FORD DEALERSHIPS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

TAKATA RECALL TAKATA IS FILING FOR CHAPTER 11. MY DEALERSHIP DOES NOT HAVE PARTS FOR MY CAR AND CAN'T GET THEM BECAUSE OF THE CHAPTER 11 , SO THAT MEANS I CAN'T DRIVE MY CAR WITH A PASSENGER WITHOUT RISKING THE LIFE OF THE PASSENGER. THE DRIVER SIDE HAS BEEN REPLACED.

TAKATA RECALL I AM COMPLAINING TODAY ABOUT SARASOTA FORD. MY CAR WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK AND IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH ELECTRICAL. I HAD MY FRIEND TAKE MY CAR THERE BECAUSE I HAD TO RETURN BACK TO THE MIDWEST. I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE 19 HOURS WITHOUT WIPERS. I FIGURED SINCE IT WAS THERE I WOULD CALL AND HAVE THEM TAKE CARE OF THIS AIRBAG RECALL. HURRICANE IRMA MADE THAT IMPOSSIBLE BY THE TIME I DID PICK UP MY CAR I NEVER SPOKE TO ANY OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I WANTED TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS SAFE TO DRIVE 19 HOURS HOME. I HAD TO EVEN WALK IN THE BACK PARKING LOT BECAUSE THE SECRETARY WHO DID HELP GET MY KEYS COULDN'T DRIVE A STICK. THERE WAS A BAG OF FOOD LEFT IN MY BACKSEAT AND MAGGOTS WAS IN MY BACKSEAT . I KNEW THEY WERE SWAMPED SO I DIDN'T EVEN COMPLAIN. I WAS ON MY WAY BACK TO KC AND MY CAR WON'T START WHEN I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. I IMMEDIATELY CALL SARASOTA FORD AND THEY PUT ME ON HOLD FOR A LONG TIME. I FINALLY HUNG UP AND SOME LOCALS HELPED ME POP START MY CLUTCH. I DROVE TWO MORE HOURS AND MY CAR STARTED OVERHEATING. I PULL OVER AND ITS STEAMING. I HAD TO GET A HOTEL ROOM IN ALABAMA SOMEWHERE AND A TOW TRUCK. IT ENDED UP BEING THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING. I THOUGHT THAT SARASOTA WOULD OF GAVE MY CAR A FULL DIAGNOSTIC TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM. I JUST WENT TO THE AIRBAGRECALL.COM BECAUSE I GOT ANOTHER REMINDER TO FIX RECALL THIS WEEK AND IT MY STILL HAS A AIRBAG RECALL. I AM JUST LUCKY MY CAR ONLY BROKE DOWN AFTER GETTING FIXED AT SARASOTA FORD. I COULD OF WRECKED AND THE AIRBAG WOULD OF BEEN FAULTY.

TAKATA RECALLS: BOUGHT CAR AT DAMEROW FORD IN BEAVERTON OR UNDER THE CONTINGENCY THAT A 100 POINT CHECK WAS DONE ON THE 2005 FORD MUSTANG GT THAT I AM WRITING ABOUT. AS I DRIVE CQR OFF LOT I NOTICE GAS GAUGE IS STUCK ON HALF A TANK. I CALL THEM ABOUT IT AND THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT AFTER FINDING OUT THERE IS A RECALL.. AND THEY HAVE NOT RETURNED MY CALLS. THIS WAS IN AUGUST 2017. NOW IT IS JANUARY 2018 AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND I TAKE CAR IN TO A TRUSTED MECHANIC AND THEY SAY I HAVE A LEAK NEAR MY FUEL PUMP. I LOOK THIS UP AND IT IS AGAIN A RECALLED ITEM FOR THIS YEAR AND MAKE. I AGAIN CALL FORD. NO ONE RETURNS MY CALL. SO I HAD TO OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE THIS FIXED. PLEASE HELP.

EVERY TIME I CALL ITS ALWAYS THE SAME "WE DON'T HAVE ANY PARTS FOR THE RECALL. WE WILL NOTIFY YOU WHEN WE GET PARTS IN" AND THEY NEVER CALL BACK. MANUFACTURER HAS NOT PRESENTED REMEDY TO RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER. HUMID DAYS ARE APPROACHING AS WELL AS AN INCREASE IN MALFUNCTIONING AIR BAG. I TOOK MY CAR TO GET ONE RECALL SERVICED AS IT HAD TWO AND THE DEALER SAID IT ONLY HAD ONE READY AND THY HAD NO TIMETABLE OF WHEN THE OTHER REMEDY WOULD BE AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER IN BENNINGTON, VT ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY TELL ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO REPLACE THE RECALLED TAKATA AIRBAG. I AM UNABLE TO GET A STICKER IN 2018 BECAUSE OF THIS IT COMES UP ON THE COMPUTER THEY USE TO GET A STICKER THAT I HAVE A BAD AIRBAG,AND I WILL BE REJECTED AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE MY CAR.
MUSTANG IS STUCK IN LIMP MODE. CAN NOT REV ENGINE ABOVE 5 MILES PER HOUR.
MY FORD MUSTANG STILL NEEDS IT'S RECALLED PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACED - 10 MONTHS AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL NOTICE LETTER FROM FORD. REPEATED CALLS TO THE DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HAVE NOT HELPED AND FORD WILL GIVE NO SPECIFIC INFORMATION WHEN THE RECALL REPAIR WILL OCCUR, WHY THE DELAY HAS BEEN SO LONG OR WHAT THE CAUSE OF THE DELAY IS. THEY DO NOT OFFER ANY SPECIFIC DEPARTMENT TO SPEAK WITH REGARDING THIS AND WHEN I ASKED FOR AN ADDRESS OF SOMEONE I COULD SEND A LETTER TO, I WAS TOLD "THEY DON'T HAVE THAT INFORMATION. "
