"TAKATA RECALL " I RECEIVED A RECALL FROM FORD ON MARCH 2007 . IT HASN'T BEEN REPLACED YET. BILL COLWELL FORD SAID THEY WOULD CALL WHEN THEY COULD REPLACE IT,HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING YET.
TAKATA AIRBAG - I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH OF 2017, IT IS NOW DECEMBER, AND WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER, THEY ARE DOING NOTHING, AS PARTS OR REPAIRS HAVE NOT YET BEEN RECEIVED OR AUTHORIZED. IT WAS IN FOR A PREVIOUS RECALL A YEAR EARLIER FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS BUT THIS IS ANOTHER FOLLOW UP TO REPLACE THE WHOLE AIRBAG, NOT SOME MINOR PARTS AS PREVIOUSLY.
TAKATA RECALL FORD NOTIFIED US OF THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR RECALL IN JULY 2016. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE AVAILABILITY OF PARTS AND SERVICE FOR THIS RECALL.
AFTER HEAVY RAIN FOR A COUPLE WEEKS. I WAS DRIVING STRAIT, IN THE RAIN ON A CITY STREET. I NOTICED MY RADIO TURNED OFF. THEN ALSO NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS AND BLINKERS WERE ALSO NOT WORKING. AFTER REACHING MY DESTINATION BEFORE IT GOT TOO DARK I STOPPED AND TESTED ALL LIGHTS INCLUDING BRAKE LIGHTS. ALL OF THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS WEREN'T WORKING, THE GAS LIGHT CAME ON (ALTHOUGH I HAD ATLEAST A HALF TANK) TCS LIGHT AND ALSO THE EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT WERE ON IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. AFTER PARKING THE MUSTANG IN THE GARAGE FOR A COUPLE WEEKS UNTIL I HAD TIME TO CHECK THE STATUS OF THE CAR. I NOTICED THE FLOOR OF THE CAB (PASSENGER SIDE) WAS DAMP. THE CAR BATTERY WAS DEAD (LESS THAN A YEAR OLD, RED TOP OPTIMA) AND THERE WAS MOLD ACTUALLY GROWING IN PARTS OF THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR. I DID SOME RESEARCH REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND FOUND IT COMMON FROM A FAILED PLUG UNDER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS NEXT TO THE A/C FILTER. CAUSING THE WATER TO FILL UP BETWEEN THE FIREWALL AND THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT, AND ULTIMATELY LEAKING INSIDE THE CAB ONTO THE SJB (SMART JUNCTION BOX) LOCATED DIRECTLY BEHIND THE FIREWALL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE FOR IT CAN CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF ELECTRONICS FAIL WHILE DRIVING AND ALSO THE FACT THAT THERE IS MOLD GROWING IN MY CAR FROM THIS ISSUE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND NEEDS ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY

TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A NOTICE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO INFORMING ME THAT THE PASSENGER FRONTAL INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE IF MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. I WAS TOLD I WOULD RECEIVE FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS ONCE THE PARTS WERE RECEIVED. I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE ANY MORE INSTRUCTIONS. I AM ABOUT TO TAKE A CROSS COUNTRY TRIP WITH THIS VEHICLE AND WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE HAVING THIS MATTER RESOLVED PRIOR TO STARTING THIS TRIP, AND ENDANGERING MY PASSENGER.

EVER SINCE I GOT MY MUSTANG THE FUEL GAUGE WAS ACTING UP AND WOULD SOMETIMES GIVE ME A CORRECT READING BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT JUST SITS AT EMPTY EVEN AFTER REFUELING. THEN JUST RECENTLY I STARTED DRIVING INTO WORK WHEN I NOTICED THAT MY SPEEDOMETER SAID I WAS DOING ABOUT 100 MPH ON CITY STREETS AND CONFIRMED IT WAS INACCURATE WHEN I CAME TO A STOPLIGHT AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP BUT THE SPEEDOMETER READ 50 MPH. WHEN I GOT TO WORK I STOPPED THE ENGINE AND STARTED IT BACK UP AND I HAD TO REPEAT THIS PROCESS 7-8 TIMES TO GET IT TO RESET BACK TO 0 MPH THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME THAT OCCURRED SINCE I GOT IT. *TR
TIRE VALVE STEM HAD A TOTAL AND COMPLETE FAILURE ON THE HIGHWAY AT TOP SPEED. TIRES WERE CORRECTLY INFLATED BUT THE VALVE STEMS FAILED WHERE THE RUBBER MEETS THE WHEEL. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 9 MONTHS WHICH DESTROYED THE TIRE EVERY TIME. I HAVE LOST OVER $600 FOR THREE TIRES BECAUSE OF THESE VALVE STEMS AND LUCKILY HAVEN'T BEEN KILLED, YET.
THROTTLE BODY FAILED AS I WAS DRIVING AT SPEED ON THE FREEWAY. WHEN IT FAILED, THE VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO IDLE MODE WHICH MADE IT VERY DANGEROUS TO AVOID TRAFFIC AS I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE ONTO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. THE CAR MOVED AT NO MORE THAN 5MPH! THE REPAIR IS VERY EXPENSIVE. I FEEL THAT THIS PART SHOULD NOT FAIL AFTER JUST 76,000 MILES. ATTACHED IS THE REPAIR BILL. *TR
AIR BAG REPLACE INFLATOR NEED ONE MORE FOR PASSENGER SEAT
MY 05 V6 MUSTANG'S INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS GOING OUT. THE TACTOMITER STAYS AT ZERO AT ALL TIMES AND THE SPEEDOMITER VARIES. AT TIME MY SPEEDOMITER ACTS NORMAL THEN IT WILL GO BELLOW ZERO. MY SPEEDOMITER WILL FIX ITS SELF AFTER 10 - 15 MINUTES OF THE CAR BEING TURNED OFF. I HAVE NOTICED, ON THE INTERNET, THAT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY EXACT YEAR MODEL EVEN IF THEY HAVE REALLY LOW MILAGE. I BELIEVE THAT FORD SHOULD RECALL AND FIX THIS PROBLEM BECAUSE NOT BEING ABLE TO TELL HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING IS QUITE THE SAFTEY HAZARD. I BELIEVE THAT THE ONLY REASON WHY FOR HASNT RECALLED IT YET, IS BECAUSE THEY CHARGE $500 - $800 AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET IT FIXED. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE PART WAS UNAVAILABLE FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG, AND THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 48,528. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DON'T HAVE PASSER AIRBAG. NOW FOR TWO YEARS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, A PIECE ON THE CLUTCH OF THE VEHICLE FRACTURED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SWITCH GEARS. THE FAILURE ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.

CLUSTER WITH ODOMETER GAUGE, HOT/COLD GAUGE, SOMETIMES GAS GAUGE ARE ALL SHOWING WRONG INFORMATION. THE SPEED ODOMETER WILL BE SHOWING 80 MILES OR MORE WHEN YOU ARE ONLY DRIVING 45. THIS IS VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON MUSTANG 2005 AS I HAVE READ ON MANY FORUMS. I HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FROM LAST YEAR BUT I HAD NO WAY OF KNOWING WHERE TO COMPLAIN BECAUSE THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW FAST I AM GOING OR WHEN I WILL BE OUT OF GAS. I HOPE MORE PEOPLE KNOW WHERE TO REPORT THESE ISSUES SO THE FORD COMPANY CAN RECALL OR MAKE BETTER LASTING PRODUCTS.
RECEIVED LETTER FROM FORD SAYING PARTS ARE AVAILABLE FOR RECALL 15S21 NHTSA RECALL 15V-319 BUT BEEN CONTACTING TWO LOCAL FORD DEALERS(AL PACKER PULASKI HWY BALTIMORE MD AND NORRIS FORD, MERRITT BLVD, BALTIMORE MD) FOR 5 WEEKS AND THEY SAY THEY ARE ON ORDER.
THE SPEEDOMETER IS ERRATIC. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS I AM DRIVING 40 MILES OVER THE SPEED I AM AT AND IN IDLE IT SOMETIMES SHOWS THE SPEED NEEDLE BELOW THE ZERO. SOMETIMES IT SHOWS I AM DRIVING 20MPH UNDER WHAT I THINK I'M DRIVING AT. RESULTING IN 4 TICKETS. I AM PAYING OVER $500 TO HAVE FORD REPLACE THE CLUSTER.
I PURCHASED MY 2005 FORD MUSTANG V6 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN JULY OF 2016. AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE EVERYTHING SEEMED TO BE WORKING FINE BUT ABOUT A MONTH LATER I NOTICED THE FUEL GAUGE WAS SITTING AT E SO I ATTEMPTED TO FILL IT THINKING I HAD AN EMPTY TANK WHICH MEANT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PUT 14-16 GALLONS IN AND AS I WAS REFUELING I NOTICED IT KEPT SHUTTING OFF EVEN THOUGH I HAD JUST STARTED THE PUMP EVENTUALLY I GOT IT FILLED AND ONLY PUT IN ABOUT 6 GALLONS WHICH I THOUGHT WAS ODD BUT I WENT WITH IT AND GOT BACK IN MY CAR STARTED IT UP AND NOTICED THAT THE GAUGE WAS STILL SITTING AT E AT THAT POINT I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG BUT I FIGURED IT COULD WAIT SINCE I KNEW HOW FAR I COULD POTENTIALLY GO ON A FULL TANK BUT THEN AFTER I LEFT AND HEADED FOR HOME I NOTICED THAT MY SPEEDOMETER SAID I WAS GOING 60 BUT EVERYONE WAS BLOWING PAST ME AT LEAST 10MPH FASTER WHEN THE SPEED LIMIT WAS 60. SO I PULLED OVER AND NOTICED THAT AT A STOP THE SPEEDOMETER CAME TO REST AT 35MPH I WAS ABLE TO FIX IT BUT IT KEPT HAPPENING I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH THAT I DIDNT GET PULLED OVER BECAUSE I HAD NO IDEA HOW FAST I WAS GOING. THEN FOR A WHILE THAT STOPPED HAPPENING BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN AND AT AN INCREASING RATE THE ENGINE KEEPS STALLING LIKE ITS NOT GETTING ENOUGH FUEL WHEN I STOP AT AN INTERSECTION OR STOP SIGN EVEN THOUGH I HAD JUST FILLED THE FUEL TANK THE DAY BEFORE AND HADN'T DRIVEN MORE THAN 50 MILES. THE MILEAGE AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENTS BEGINNINGS WAS ~24,000 MILES THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 34,000 AS OF 5/15/17.

TAKATA RECALL .THE RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED ON JUNE 1 2016 WHY IS IT THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE 2 MONTHS LATER. THIS A HOLD UP AND PREVENTS ME FROM DRIVING MY VEHICLE. IF THEY KNEW MONTHS BEFORE THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN MAKING NEW PARTS FOR THE RECALL AHEAD OF TIME SO OWNERS LIKE MYSELF WOULD NOT HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE FIXED.

WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN A RECALL SINCE THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A STEPPER MOTOR ISSUE IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTERS.
