MY CAR IS STILL UNDER THE EXTRA CARE EXTENDED WARRANTY. 3 WEEKS AGO I WAS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT I PUSHED THE CLUTCH IN, TO PUT INTO FIRST GEAR AND GOT READY FOR THE LIGHT TURN GREEN, WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY LUNCHED AND THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER PART PA6-GF25 BROKE . PART NUMBER PA6-GF25 BROKE AND WAS LYING INSIDE THE DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR FLOOR. I CAN'T BELIEVE FORD USED A PLASTIC PIECE PART PA6-GF25 TO HOLD THE CLUTCH PEDAL TO THE CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER. AFTER CLOSE INSPECTION I NOTICE THAT DUE TO STRESS OVER TIME IT WAS BROKEN IN HALF. I COULD HAVE SERIOUSLY INJURED ME OR SOME ELSE, WHEN MENTION IT TO GALPIN FORD, THEY SAID IT'S NOT THERE PROBLEM THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME 450 DOLLARS TO FIX THE PROBLEM, MY CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP AND MY BILL IN GOING TO BE OVER A 1000 DOLLARS AND THEY DON'T WANT TO COVER IT UNDER THE WARRANTY EITHER, I READY FOR TO FILE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND A RECALL CAN SOMEONE HELP ME WITH THIS OR KNOWS OTHER PEOPLE WHO EXPERIENCED WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS ENTERING THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. AS A RESULT, THE WATER CAUSED ELECTRICAL FAILURES. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY A DEALER, NOR HAD IT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 18,800. 2006 FORD MUSTANG HAS A WINDSHIELD VENT LEAK PROBLEM, THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE WINDSHIELD RAIN VENT BECOMES CLOGGED AND DRIPS WATER INTO THE PASSENGERS SIDE KICK PANEL WERE THERE IS A COMPUTER CONTROL BOX THE CONNECTION BECOME CORRODED AND CAUSES ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. FORD IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT REFUSES TO ISSUE A RECALL TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUES AS IT ONE COULD CAUSE A FIRE, TWO COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO LOOSE POWER AND THEREFORE CONTROLLED BRAKING OR STEERING, SIMPLY REPLACING THE PARTS DOSE NOTHING TO PREVENT THE SAFETY ISSUE. I AM TOLD THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE 2005, 2006, AND 2007 MUSTANGS. *TT
NORMAL USAGE VEHICLE WITH 63,000 MILES, STEEL CRANKSHAFT PULLEY SEPARATED FROM RUBBER HUB. REPAIR INCLUDES REPLACING CRANKSHAFT PULLEY AND OTHER ITEMS DAMAGED BY PART FAILURE. CAUSED LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, AS WELL AS ENGINE STALLING IF SPEED SENSOR IS DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF CRANKSHAFT PULLEY DAMAGING IT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHENEVER IT WOULD RAIN, WATER WOULD LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE INTO THE REAR SEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE WATER WAS ENTERING THROUGH THE CLIPS, SEAL AND UNDER PADDING OF THE COWL ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2006 PREMIUM V6 FORD MUSTANG, AND I REGULARLY GET MY VEHICLE SERVICED. MY MOST RECENT SERVICE VISIT WAS FOR AN OIL CHANGE ALONG WITH ALL THE OTHER STANDARD PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE THAT IS PERFORMED WITH THE OIL CHANGE; PERFORMED 05/20/11. UPON COMPLETION, THE SERVICE ADVISER TOLD ME THE MECHANIC FOUND COOLANT RESIDUE ON THE VEHICLE, BUT THAT I WOULD NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT AND IT WAS PROBABLY NOTHING. ON 06/24 I DECIDED TO DRIVE TO NEVADA FOR THE WEEKEND, AND MY ENGINE OVERHEATED DUE TO THE COOLANT LEAK. I HAD A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE BEING STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DESERT WITH NO CELL PHONE COVERAGE AND LITTLE TO NO TRAFFIC ON THE ROUTE I TOOK. IT TOOK OVER SIX HOURS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO ATTAIN HELP AND HAVE MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD SERVICE FACILITY - WHICH COSTED OVER $500 TO TOW. I WAS ADVISED THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING CRACKED AND LEAKED, POSSIBLY DUE TO IMPROPER TIGHTENING. MY ENGINE APPARENTLY IS OUT OF WARRANTY NOW, SO I AM FACING A 4000+ DOLLAR SERVICE BILL FOR AN ENGINE REPLACEMENT. HAD I BEEN TOLD RESIDUE COULD BE A SIGN OF A POTENTIAL LEAK THAT COULD CAUSE ENGINE FAILURE, I WOULD HAVE PAID WHATEVER WAS NECESSARY TO REPAIR THE DEFECT. I THOUGHT I COULD CONFIDE IN MY FORD DEALERSHIP IN MAINTAINING MY VEHICLE, BUT APPARENTLY I CANNOT. I AM APPALLED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE THAT SERVICED MY VEHICLE. I UNDERSTAND MY ENGINE IS OUT OF WARRANTY, BUT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE, BECAUSE THIS IS CLEARLY NEGLIGENCE ON FORD'S BEHALF FOR NOT ADVISING ME COOLANT WAS LEAKING AND MY ENGINE COULD POTENTIALLY FAIL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE RUST HAS SPREAD TO THE EDGES AROUND THE HOOD AND TOWARDS THE BACK NEAR THE WINDSHIELD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS 2006 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE ADDING FUEL TO THE VEHICLE IT CONTINUED TO SPILL OUT OF THE FUEL TANK ON THE CONTACT AND ON THE GROUND. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER REGARDING THE FAILURE AND THE DEALER FOUND A RESTRICTION BLOCKING THE FUEL TANK VENT LINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED WHEN THE DEALER CLEARED THE VENT LINE. THE CONTACT STATED THE FUEL SPILL COULD HAVE CAUSED A FIRE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,450.
TL*HE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THE PARKING BRAKE BECAME STUCK AND COULD NOT BE ENGAGED OR RELEASED. THE MECHANIC INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THE CABLE WAS STUCK. THE MECHANIC NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE PART AND WAS ADVISED THAT THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER BECAUSE IT HAD TO BE REDESIGNED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 60,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V319000 (AIR BAGS). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. BEECHMONT FORD (600 OHIO PIKE, CINCINNATI, OHIO 45245, (513) 752-6611) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL IN 2011. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND SCHEDULED A RECALL REPAIR APPOINTMENT WITH KINGS FORD (9555 KINGS AUTO MALL ROAD, CINCINNATI, OHIO 45249) IN JULY OF 2013. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON SATURDAY TWO DAYS EARLIER, I DROVE TO WORK THEN HOME APPROXIMATELY 130 MILES WENT TO DINNER WITH A WIFE AND FRIENDS. ONE OF MY FRIENDS FROM NORWAY WANTED RIDE IN CAR AND EXPERIENCE THE POWER. FORTUNATELY ON A CLEAR 6 LANE HIGHWAY I KICKED IT HARD ONLY THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE. THE PEDAL FUNCTIONED AS NORMAL RETURNING TO UPRIGHT POSITION. I KICKED THE PEDAL 8 OR 9 TIMES BEFORE THE ENGINE FINALLY RESPONDED. IT RUINED A SET BRAKE PADS. THE DEALER SAYS THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH CAR - SAID THE FLOOR MAT MUST HAVE GOTTEN STUCK UNDER THE PEDAL. I SAID GO LOOK AGAIN WHEN I BOUGHT THE USED CAR TWO DAYS AGO THERE ARE NO FLOOR MATS IN IT. HE HAD NO FURTHER RESPONSE. SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED TODAY MARCH 23, 2012 JUST OVER A YEAR LATER BASICALLY A DUPLICATE OF THE ORIGINAL. I THINK THAT THESE DRIVE-BY-WIRE CARS HAVE SOME SERIOUS ISSUES REGARDING FAIL SAFE FEATURES OF THE COMPONENTS. I HAVE EXPERIENCED A NUMBER STICKING THROTTLES IN MY LIFETIME BUT AT LEAST WHEN A MECHANICAL LINKAGE STICKS THERE IS AN IDENTIFIABLE CAUSE AND REMEDY. THIS ELECTRONIC CRAP AND THE LACK OF DIGINITY BY BOTH THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER TO RESPOND TO A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN IS FRIGHTENING. I BOUGHT FORD'S MUSTANG TO ENJOY IT - NOT BE TERRIFIED THAT EVERYTIME I OPEN THE THROTTLE THAT IT MAY BE MY LAST. I HAVE SEEN A NUMBER COMPLAINTS ON THE VARIOUS MUSTANG FORUMS AS WELL AS ON THIS SITE MAYBE FORD COULD AT LEAST HONESTLY INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. *TR
AT 12:00 PM MY SISTER IN LAW CALLED ME AND SAID HER 06 MUSTANG GT WAS HESITATING WHEN ACCELERATING, I ADVISED HER TO BRING IT TO MY SHOP AND I WOULD CHECK IT OUT. I CHECKED TO SEE IF ANY CODES WERE SET, AND THE CODES WERE CLEAR. I TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE, THERE WAS A 4-6 SECOND DELAY BETWEEN PUSHING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE RESPONSE OF THE ENGINE ACCELERATING. I TURNED RIGHT ONTO THE MAIN ROAD OF OUR TEST DRIVE AREA AND ACCELERATED AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR TO FULL ACCELERATION AND THE REAR TIRES SPUN AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WOULD NOT RETURN TO THE RELEASED POSITION. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE AND COASTED BACK INTO MY PARKING LOT. I, AT THAT POINT WENT TO MY OFFICE AND CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND ASKED THE PARTS MANAGER IF THERE WERE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE STICKING ACCELERATOR AND HE ADVISED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON CERTAIN MUSTANGS WHERE THEY PUT A SHIELD UNDER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, BUT THIS VEHICLE DIDN'T FALL INTO THE V.I.N. PARAMETERS. THERE WERE NO ADDITIONAL MATS OTHER THAN THE FACTORY MAT WHICH IS HOOKED INTO THE MAT HOOKS ON THE CARPET AND THAT THERE WAS PLENTY OF CLEARANCE FROM THE PEDAL TO THE MAT. PERSONALLY IT SEEMED LIKE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE DRIVE BY WIRE ACCELERATOR. IF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO MY SISTER, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE PROBLEM. I HAVE A 2006 MUSTANG WITH ONLY 7500 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE OWNED IT NOW FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS. TODAY I WAS DRIVING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET AND THE ENGINE JUST TURNED OFF. I PULLED THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE AND TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT WAS FINE. I DROVE HOME WITH NO ISSUES. I WAS ALMOST ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS. IF YOU COMPLETE A GOOGLE SEARCH ON 2006-2009 MUSTANGS, THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE LISTED SEVERAL TIMES. WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF, I CHECKED ALL THE FLUIDS IN THE CAR AND THEY WERE ALL FINE. IT DID NOT SOUND LIKE THEIR WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE; THIS SEEMS MORE LIKE A GLITCH IN THE SYSTEM, SOMETHING THAT FORD SHOULD RECALL AND FIX. BECAUSE THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, THE STEERING WAS HARD TO CONTROL, IF I WAS GOING AT A FASTER SPEED, I MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO PULL THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE INTERSTATE. THIS COULD HAVE CREATED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
2006 V6 FORD MUSTANG - PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE COOLANT THERMOSTAT HOUSING, FAILED AT 69,699 MILES AT 60 MPH. STEAM FROM HOOD, BLOCKED VISION, WAS ABLE TO EVENTUALLY PULL TO SHOULDER FOR SAFETY. *TR
VEHICLE WAS ENTERING FREEWAY WHEN ALL DASH LIGHTS STOPPED FUNCTIONING AND WENT BLACK. WITHIN SEVERAL SECONDS THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND BEGAN SPLUTTERING. VEHICLE PULLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND THE ENGINE CUT OUT. VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART ONCE ENGINE DIED. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHERE THE ALTERNATOR WAS FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE.
CANNOT EASILY PUT GAS IN TANK. THIS JUST STARTED OCCURRING AFTER HAVING 80,000 +/- MILES ON VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS CAR HAD UPDATED (REMEDY) TANK INSTALLED DURING PRODUCTION, BECAUSE FORD KNEW OF PROBLEM ON 2005S. NEWER TANK WORKED SUCCESSFULLY FOR MANY MILES. GASSING UP IS NOW TOO FRUSTRATING TO DEAL WITH. I'VE BEEN A FORD FAN FOR MY ENTIRE LIFE, BUT THIS MIGHT CHANGE MY MIND. *TR
CATALYTIC CONVERTER: LONG STORY SHORT. MY CAR WAS STILL ELIGIBLE UNDER THE EMISSIONS WARRANTY. WHICH MADE IT ELIGIBLE FOR FORD TO REPAIR THE CAT. CONVERTER BY LAW. I WAS GIVEN THE RUN AROUND (PER FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE)THAT MY CAR WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE "BUMPER TO BUMPER" WARRANTY SINCE I HAD BOUGHT THE CAR USED. AT THAT TIME(NOV. 2010) THERE WAS A MAJOR. NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER ON CAT. CONVERTERS. I WAITED UNTIL FEBRUARY TO TAKE MY CAR DOWN TO FORD UNDER THE ASSUMPTIONS THAT I WAS RESPONSIBLE TO PAY FOR THE $1200+ REPAIR COST. SINCE I WAS UNDER 80,000 MILES.. FORD PAID FOR MY RENTAL FOR A MONTH AND I HAD MY CAT. CONVERTER FIXED :). PEOPLE KEPT TELLING ME THAT MY CAR WAS TOO NEW TO HAVE THAT PROBLEM. WELL YOU NEVER KNOW. IT JUST STOPPED WORKING ONE DAY AND I COULDN'T DRIVE IT OVER 5-10 MPH. *KB
CAR WOULD NOT START. *TR
FLOOR MAT PROVIDED BY ROUSH GOT STUCK BEHIND THE GAS PEDAL AND CAUSED MY CAR TO ACCELERATE TO WHAT FELT LIKE 90-100 MPH. I ATTEMPTED TO PASS TRAFFIC AHEAD OF ME AND SLAMMED MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL TO MOVE AHEAD; HOWEVER, UPON PASSING THE TRAFFIC ON THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY NORTH, WHICH HAS A SPEED LIMIT OF 65 MPH, MY GAS PEDAL BECAME STUCK OR JAMMED IN THE MAT AND ACCELERATED TO WHAT FELT LIKE 90-100 MPH. I SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL THEN ACCIDENTALLY TO REVERSE HEARING A MECHANICAL CLUNK, DURING WHICH TIME I REPEATEDLY SLAMMED MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THEN LUCKILY, THE GAS PEDAL RELEASED AND I WAS ABLE TO RESUME DRIVING LIKE NORMAL. LATER THAT DAY, I NOTICED THAT THE FLOOR MAT WAS STUCK BEHIND THE GAS PEDAL AT WORK; IT MAY HAVE SLID UNDER THE GAS PEDAL WHEN MY FOOT LIFTED UP FROM THE FLOOR OR THE EXACT TIME I AM NOT SURE SINCE WHEN I ENTER MY CAR I DO NOT LOOK TO SEE IF MY FLOOR MAT IS STUCK BEHIND THE GAS PEDAL. HOWEVER, I AM FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE THE FLOOR MAT PROVIDED BY FORD WITH MY 2006 ROUSH STAGE II FORD MUSTANG HAD NO HOLE TO LATCH ONTO THE HOOK ON THE FLOOR OF THE CAR AS WELL AS THE ROUSH FLOOR MAT PROVIDED WITH PURCHASE OF THE CAR AND USED THAT DAY, DID HAVE A HOLE TO CONNECT TO THE HOOK ON THE FLOOR, BUT DOES NOT FIT THE HOOK. I AM COMPLAINING BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURERS DID NOT ENSURE 100% THAT THEIR FLOOR MATS ARE SECURED TO THE FLOOR; INSTEAD, IN THIS EXAMPLE, IT SLID ON THE FLOOR AND BECAME STUCK BEHIND MY GAS PEDAL. I HAVE SINCE REMOVED THE ROUSH FLOOR MAT FROM THE FLOOR AND DO NOT USE A FLOOR MAT, NEITHER THE ONE PROVIDED BY FORD NOR THE ONE PROVIDED BY ROUSH. THIS COMPLAINT IS MORE A COSMETIC DESIGN FLAW THAN A MECHANICAL PROBLEM, SINCE NO TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON THE DASHBOARD WHICH I COMMUNICATED TO FORD BY MAIL. OTHERWISE, I WOULD HAVE WENT THROUGH WITH AN INSPECTION OF MY VEHICLE AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING DAY (WHICH I SCHEDULED), BUT THE CAR DRIVES FINE TODAY AND THERE IS NO LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD. *TR
AFTER CHANGING THE BATTERY ON MY 2006 FORD MUSTANG GT WITH 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION IT IDLES VERY ROUGH AND SOMETIMES DIES DURING DRIVING OR IDLES SO LOW THE POWER STEERING IS NOT FULLY FUNCTIONAL RESULTING IN EXCESSIVE STEERING EFFORT. THE CAR RAN FINE UNTIL THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED. I FOLLOWED THE RELEARN PROCEDURE IN THE OWNERS MANUAL BUT IT DID NOT HELP. *TR
I HAVE 2006 MUSTANG GT, BROUGHT NEW AND THE PAINT ON THE HOOD IS FALLING OFF, I TOOK TO A FORD DEALER BODY SHOP, AND WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $600.00 , TO REPAINT THE HOOD. I WAS TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY ON THE PAINT IS ONLY GOOD FOR 36,000 MILES OR 3 YEARS. THE PAINT WAS NOT FALLING OFF AT 36,000 MILES, AND I THINK FORD SHOULD HAVE HAD A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM, I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME. *TR
ALL I WAS DOING WAS CLEANING OUT MY CAR AND THEN GOT IN THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED. IT SOUNDED LIKE A GUN SHOT BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS MY TIRE. I INSPECTED MY TIRES THEN SAW MY WINDSHIELD. I INVESTIGATED THE WINDSHIELD AND SAW NO HOLES OR ANYTHING AT ALL. THE TEMPERATURE WAS THE SAME AS ALWAYS AND THE WINDOWS WERE DOWN. *TR

A MECHANIC SPECULATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY BECAME JAMMED. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 46,000. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.
