WHY AREN'T DEALERS REQUIRED TO NOTIFY VEHICLE OWNERS OF TSB'S WHICH MAY RESULT IN PART FAILURE AND EXPENSIVE REPAIRS, ESPECIALLY WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD, OR BE REQUIRED TO OFFER EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THOSE ITEMS? 2006 FORD MUSTANG V6 HAD A/C PUMP FAILURE (RESULTING IN EXPENSIVE SYSTEM REPAIR) AT 31,000K MILES FOR WHICH THERE WAS A TSB THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PERFORMED WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD AT RELATIVELY LOW COST. *TR
ON AUG 5, MY COOLANT WAS AT NORMAL LEVELS AT A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE EXAM. IN THE DARK IN A BAD NEIGHBORHOOD ON AUG 7, MY CAR OVERHEATED. THE NEXT MORNING, THE CAR WAS RETURNED TO THE MECHANIC WHO SAW THE CAR WED AS THE CAR COULD NOT MAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND FORD WOULD NOT COMPLIMENTARY TOW THE CAR. THE MECHANIC FOUND THAT THE COOLANT HAD DRAINED OUT AS THERMOSTAT HOUSING 2L2Z8592BA WAS DEFECTIVE AND HAD BROKEN. THEY EXPLAINED THAT LATELY THEY HAVE SEEN THIS IN MANY FORDS AS FORD HAS CHANGED THIS PART'S MATERIAL AND IS NOW MAKING IT OF A LESS DURABLE MATERIAL. A REPLACEMENT PART WAS ORDERED FROM THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR WHO ALWAYS NEEDS TO PART NUMBER TO ORDER ANY PART. THEY SAID THEY DID NOT NEED THE PART NUMBER THIS TIME WHICH INDICATES THAT THEY HAVE HAD TO ORDER THIS REPLACEMENT PART FREQUENTLY. THE REPAIR COSTS WERE $610. I HAVE THE PART IF ANYONE NEEDS TO EXAMINE IT OR PHOTOGRAPH IT, BUT THEY MAY NOT KEEP IT UNLESS I AM REIMBURSED IN FULL FIRST. THIS PART LASTED THE LIFETIME OF MY 99 MUSTANG AND 91 EXPLORER AND SHOULD HAVE LASTED THE LIFETIME OF THIS CAR. IT LASTS THE LIFETIME OF OTHER COMPANY'S CARS. PLEASE LOOK INTO A RECALL OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART FOR SAFETY REASONS AS IT CAUSES CARS TO STOP WORKING UNEXPECTEDLY. ON AN EXPRESSWAY THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. IF A WOMAN IS DRIVING ALONE IN A NEIGHBORHOOD SHE WOULD DRIVE THROUGH IN A LOCKED CAR BUT WOULD NOT STOP IN FOR SAFETY REASONS, WHEN THE CAR STOPS WORKING UNEXPECTEDLY FROM THIS PROBLEM SHE COULD BECOME THE VICTIM OF A VIOLENT CRIME THAT WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURRED IF HER CAR CONTINUED WORKING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT INTERMITTENTLY WHILE DRIVING, AN UNSPECIFIED WARNING LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL, AND THEN THE VEHICLE WILL STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY FOR INSPECTION. A MECHANIC CONCLUDED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $800.00 TO REPLACE THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,800. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 48,000.
WHEN DRIVING MY 2006 V6 FORD MUSTANG IN THE RAIN, PINTS OF WATER BEGAN POURING INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE IN A STREAM. I STOPPED AND TRIED TO DETERMINE THE SOURCE AND COULD NOT. TURNS OUT MANY MUSTANGS HAVE THIS PROBLEM AND FORD HAS RELEASED A TSB BUT HAS NOT EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE, SO IT'S GOING TO COST ME AN ARM AND A LEG. BUT THE CAR WOULD BE ABSOLUTELY RUINED WITHOUT FIXING IT. A CAR YOU CAN'T DRIVE IN THE RAIN! *TR
2006 FORD MUSTANG IS LEAKING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER ONTO FRONT FLOOR BOARD AREA, BENEATH DASH. WATER IS SATURATING ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, INCLUDING FUSE BOXES AND OTHER ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS, CAUSING WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A SERIOUS HAZARD. AN INTERNET SEARCH OF "MUSTANG LEAK" WILL PRODUCE MULTIPLE HITS OF MANY OTHER OWNERS EXPERIENCING THE IDENTICAL PROBLEM. FORD HAS RELEASED TSB 08-26-7 DETAILING THE PROBLEM FOR MODEL YEARS 2005 - 2009. CONSIDERING SO MANY YEAR MODELS INVOLVED, THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DESIGN FLAW IN THE MANUFACTURING OF THE VEHICLE. FORD HAS YET TO RECALL THIS ISSUE AND ACCORDING TO THE LOCAL DEALER, FORD DOES NOT CONSIDER THIS PROBLEM RELATED TO SAFETY, WHICH EXPLAINS THE LACK OF RECALL. EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF WATER POURING ONTO THE INTERIOR ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AS A POSSIBLE SAFETY CONCERN. THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING UP TO THIS INCIDENT. IT BEGAN 5 MONTHS AFTER THE EXPIRATION OF THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. CURRENTLY, VEHICLE IS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED AT A LOCAL BODY SHOP FOR AN UNDETERMINED COST AT THIS TIME. AGAIN, THERE WERE NO EVENTS, CRASH OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. THANK YOU. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH THE VEHICLE STALLED. OCCASIONALLY, THE VEHICLE WILL RESTART AND WHEN IT DOESN'T, THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE TOWED. THE RPM'S ALSO INCREASED TO 2000, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO DECELERATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 26000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH ON WET ROAD CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP SIGN AND THEN PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE. SUDDENLY, THE CONTACT HEARD WATER COMING FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE DRIVER OBSERVED THAT THE PASSENGER FLOOR PANEL AREA AND THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT EXHIBITED WATER LEAKAGE. THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE ENGINE FAILED TO START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AND THEY STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CONTRIBUTED TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORTAGE IN THE JUNCTION BOX. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THIS WAS A MANUFACTURER DESIGN FLAW WITH THE DRAINAGE. A FAN WAS USED TO DRY OUT THE JUNCTION BOX; HOWEVER, THE ELECTRICAL FAILURES STILL PERSIST. THE EXTERIOR COMPONENTS THAT WERE INOPERATIVE CONSIST OF: TAILLIGHTS, PARKING LIGHTS, EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHTS, TURN SIGNALS, REAR BACK UP LIGHTS, AND THE LOW BEAMS. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 52,000.
FORD 2006 FACTORY SPARK PLUGS ARE CORRODED AND RUSTED. THEY BREAK INSIDE OF THE GASKET, CAUSING AN OVERALL OF THE HEAD GASKET. THIS HAS COST SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS TO REPAIR. *TR
HESITATION IN GAS PEDAL/THROTTLE BODY. WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC I WOULD EASE DOWN ON GAS PEDAL WITH NO REACTION UNTIL ABOUT HALF THROTTLE AND THE CAR WOULD JUMP AT ABOUT HALF THROTTLE AND I WOULD THEN HAVE TO LET OFF GAS PEDAL AND REPEAT PROCESS UNTIL UP TO SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT THIS BECAME A RE-OCCURRING PROBLEM. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. EVERYONE I TALK TO ABOUT THIS SAYS IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL, 2005-2014 FORD MUSTANG. I HAVE 3 OF THEM AND THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
2006 FORD MUSTANG GT FOR THE LAST 12 MONTHS HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING ACCELERATION WITHOUT APPLYING GAS PEDAL. HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING AT LOW RATES OF SPEED. WHEN REMOVE FOOT FROM GAS PEDAL TO SLOW VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES JUMPING FROM 500RPM TO 1500+RPMS. HAVE TO DEPRESS BRAKE HARD TO KEEP VEHICLE FROM JUMPING FORWARD. BIG PROBLEM WHEN TRYING TO COME TO A STOP AT INTERSECTIONS. HAVE REARENDED VEHICLE IN FRONT BECAUSE THE MUSTANG JUMPED FORWARD AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AND REMOVING FOOT FROM BRAKE PEDAL. NO INJURIES OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLE STRUCK BY THE MUSTANG. MECHANIC COULDN'T FIND ANY CAUSE FOR THE ENGINE REVVING. THIS HAS GONE FROM AN OCCASIONAL INCIDENT TO AN EVERY DAY OCCURRENCE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE CONTACT TURNED THE IGNITION TO THE START POSITION. IMMEDIATELY, THE VEHICLE BATTERY POWER FAILED; THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER WINDOWS RELEASED IN A DOWNWARD POSITION APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 4 INCHES WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD A JUMP START AND RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE RELAY SWITCH WAS REPLACED. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE. THE IDENTICAL FAILURES OCCURRED ON A SEPARATE OCCASION. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTIONS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,429. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000. WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP, MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND TRANSMISSION IN NEUTRAL, THE ENGINE REVS UP TO 3500 RPM AND RISES FROM THERE. IN ORDER TO STOP IT, I HAVE TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY UNIT. TWO WEEKS LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. FORD SAID THERE IS NO CODES IN THE SYSTEM AND THEY CAN'T RECREATE THE SITUATION TO VERIFY. THEY ALSO SAID THAT I MIGHT BE TOUCHING THE GAS PEDAL AND BRAKE AT THE SAME TIME. THE NEXT TIME IT HAPPENED I HAD A PASSENGER VERIFY THAT MY FEET AND THE FLOOR MAT WAS COMPLETELY AWAY FROM THE GAS PEDAL AS THE ENGINE REVVED OVER 3500 RPM. THE CAR OPERATED NORMALLY FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS UNTIL THIS PAST WEEK WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. IT'S OCCURRED AROUND 20 TIMES WITH 3 OF THEM DURING DRIVING WHERE THE CAR STARTED TO ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN. FORD HAS SAID THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING UNTIL A CODE SHOWS UP OR A PART ACTUALLY BREAKS. HOPEFULLY, I WON'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT BY THAT TIME. *TR
I AM CONTACTING YOU TO ATTEMPT TO URGE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THE LARGE NUMBERS OF ISSUES ON 2005-06 FORD MUSTANGS (REFERENCE TSB 06-5-4). THIS TSB REFERS TO A DEFECTIVE BRAKE CABLE ORIGINALLY INSTALLED ON THESE CARS IN WHICH THE RUBBER BOOT IS PRONE TO PREMATURE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE ALLOWS MOISTURE INTO THE BRAKE HOUSING. IN VERY COLD TEMPERATURES THE PARKING BRAKE WILL FREEZE DISABLING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE PURSUED REPAIR OF THIS ISSUE WITH MY FORD DEALER AS WELL AS FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY STATE THAT AT THIS TIME THE NUMBER OF FAILURES HAVE NOT REQUIRED THEM TO ISSUE A RECALL. THIS IS THEIR POSITION EVENTHOUGH THE FIX IS TO REPLACE THE OEM HARDWARE WITH UPGRADED MATERIALS. THIS IS CLEARLY A FAILURE IN A COMPONENT AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED REGARDLESS OF THE WARRANTY WHICH EXPIRED LESS THAN 2 MONTHS AGO. I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE TO URGE FORD TO REMEDY THE PROBLEMS THAT SO MANY OF ITS CUSTOMERS ARE FACING AND ISSUE A RECALL FOR THE DEFECTIVE PARTS. *TR
I OWN A 2006 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE PARKING BRAKE HAS FAULTY SEALS CAUSING WATER TO WANDER PAST THEM AND FREEZING MY BRAKES WHEN ITS COLD. IT HAS DONE THIS FOR THREE YEARS IN A ROW AND IM SO SICK OF IT. OTHER MUSTANG OWNERS ARE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND I DON'T THINK THIS SHOULD COST THE CONSUMERS TO FIX CORRECTLY. *TR

THE LOCAL MECHANIC REPLACED THE RADIATOR THREE TIMES AND THE BATTERY WAS ALSO REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC AND LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE ENGINE. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
POOLS OF WATER UNDER REMOVABLE FLOOR MATS ON FRONT DRIVER & PASSENGER FLOORS. CARPET IS ROTTED & SMELLS OF MOLD/MILDEW. FLOOR UNDER DRIVER SEAT BUCKLES UNDER DRIVER WEIGHT(120 LBS) ELECTRICAL BOX UNDER PASSENGER SEAT IS SITTING IN WATER. BROUGHT CAR TO DEALER FOR UNRELATED WARRANTY ITEMS & ADVISED THEM OF WATER. I WAS TOLD TO OPEN CONVERTIBLE TOP & RECLOSE AS THAT WOULD PROBABLY RESOLVE. BROUGHT CAR BACK & SAID CAR WAS SOAKED & THEN ADVISED WARRANTY EXPIRED 40 DAYS AGO.CARPETS NEED TO BE REPLACED AS UNSAFE MOLD REMAINS & WIFE EXPERIENCING CHRONIC RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS. AFRAID FLOOR UNDER DRIVER FEET WILL OPEN UP DUE TO EXCESSIVE RUST & CAUSE INJURY TO FOOT/FEET WITH ROADWAY OR WORSE, DRIVER SEAT WILL FALL THROUGH. THEY WERE AWARE OF INHERENT PROBLEM & DISREGARDED DANGER TO PUBLIC HEALTH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHT COVERS ON HIS VEHICLE HAVE GATHERED MOISTURE, WHICH REDUCES VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. WAS DRIVING 60 MPH ON FREEWAY..DID A SLIGHT ACCELERATION TO GET AROUND A TRUCK. THE GAS PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE RPM'S WERE UP AROUND 7000-8000, I HIT CLOSE TO 120 MILES AN HOUR, AFTER LESS THAN A MINUTE. I TRIED TO GET THE PEDAL UNSTUCK WITH MY FOOT....NO AVAIL.. THEN I POPPED IT INTO NEUTRAL AND SPEED STARTED TO BACK OFF, WITH RPM'S STILL RACING. I PULLED TO SIDE OF ROAD AT ABOUT 35-40 MPH AND TURNED OFF CAR. I HAD TO PHYSICALLY REACH DOWN AND MOVE RUBBER PEDAL TO THE SIDE AND PULL METAL PART UP. PEDAL SEEMED TO WORK ONCE I PRIED THE GAS PEDAL FROM THE FLOOR. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD SHOP THE NEXT DAY AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER HEARD OF THAT HAPPENING BEFORE. THEY BLAMED IT ON THE FLOOR MAT AND CHARGED ME 58.00. ALL INDICATIONS ON THE ENGINE WERE NORMAL THEY STATED. I KNOW IT WAS NOT THE FLOOR MAT. AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT DRIVING THE CAR AGAIN. *TR

I HAVE BEEN HAWKING THE ENTIRE LEAK ISSUE, AND A MEMBER HERE IN A RECENT POST HAS IDENTIFIED THE SMOKING GUN - CLEAR PROOF THAT FORD IS HIDING A KNOWN LEAK PROBLEM WITH A BAND-AID. MANY HAVE ASKED AND WONDERED WHY A PIECE OF WHITE FOAM EXISTS OVER THE ELECTRICAL BOX (SJB) WITHIN THEIR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT SIDE KICK PANEL. WELL, IN RESPONSE TO ONE OF THE THREADS HERE, ONE OF OUR MEMBERS HAS NOW POSTED THIS: "... IN FORD'S FACTORY SERVICE MANUAL UNDER THE SECTION ON REPLACING THE ELECTRICAL BOX ...(SJB) ... INSIDE THE PASSENGER SIDE KICK PANEL, FORD REFERS TO THE FOAM SHEET OVER THE SJB AS A "WATERSHIELD" AND CAUTIONS NOT TO REMOVE IT WHEN INSTALLING THE NEW BOX ..." IF THIS IS TRUE, AND IT SHOULD BE VERIFIED BY SOMEONE WITH ACCESS TO THE MANUALS [WHICH I DO NOT HAVE], HERE ARE THE FACTS: FORD DESIGNS AND BUILDS A VEHICLE WITH AN ELECTRICAL BOX (SJB) LOCATED INSIDE THE PASSENGER CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. IN FACT, THE SJB IS NESTLED BETWEEN THE OUTER FENDER AND THE INTERIOR KICK PANEL. BUT FOR SOME REASON - CLEARLY KNOWN TO FORD - THEY FIND THE NEED TO INCLUDE A FOAM "WATERSHIELD" TO PROTECT THE SJB FROM WATER INFILTRATION. CERTAINLY THIS IS [XXX] PRODUCT QUALITY AT IT'S FINEST, BUT IT WOULD SEEM THAT IT IS FAR MORE. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT IT IS PROOF POSITIVE FOR THOSE WITH THE PROBLEM TO DEMAND THAT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA) FORCE A RECALL OF THE VEHICLE IF ONLY ENOUGHOWNERS NOTIFIED NHTSA ACCORDINGLY [ANOTHER TOPIC/STRATEGY DISCUSSED ON THESE FORUMS]. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED TWO YEARS PRIOR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED WITH THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED DURING VEHICLE OPERATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.

WHEN FUELING MY 2006 MUSTANG, I FIND IT HARD TO FILL THE GAS TANK COMPLETELY. I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM UNTIL IT IS OVER 1/2 TANK. DEALERSHIP ASSURES ME THAT NOTHING CAN BE DONE TO FIX THIS. THIS WILL BE AN EXPENSIVE CAR IF I HAVE TO PUT A CLUTCH IN EVERY 17,000 MILES OR SO. I ALSO HAD THE RIGHT FRONT SUSPENSION ARM REPLACED AT 19,000 MILES. AT THIS TIME I AM HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE IGNITION STARTER STICKING AND CAUSING A SCRATCHING NOISE WHEN I START MY CAR. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM SINCE BEGINNING OF OWNERSHIP. 4 TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP INCLUDING TANK, FILLER NECK & SENDER REPLACEMENT HAS NOT RESOLVED THE PROBLEM. AS AN EXPERIENCED AUTO TECHNICIAN OF 27 YEARS I INSPECTED THE DESIGN OF THE FUEL TANK AND DETERMINED THAT THE "SADDLEBAG" DESIGN IS FLAWED AT THE TOP AND CENTER, WHERE THAT SECTION IS ONLY ABOUT 5 MM THICK AND IS HIGHER THAN THE TOP LEFT AND RIGHT SIDES, NOT ALLOWING FUEL TO FLOW INTO THE RIGHTHAND SIDE. I DRIVE A 2006 FORD MUSTANG. I HAVE HAD A BRAKE PROBLEM SIMILAR TO THE PROBLEM THAT THE TOYOTA PRIUS RECALL IS HAVING. WHEN I AM TURNING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND HIT A BUMP, THE BRAKE GIVE OUT. I TOOK IT IN TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT STARTING IN OCTOBER 2007, BUT THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT THE BRAKES AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG. THEY WOULDN'T EVEN RECORD IT IN THEIR COMPUTERS. 1. PRIOR UNRELATED DISCUSSION WITH A TOW TRUCK DRIVER ADVISED ME THAT HE HAS HAD TO TOW IN A COUPLE OF CARS THAT ARE THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AS MINE. HE ADVISED ME THAT THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE WERE FAILING. HE ADVISED ME TO CHECK IT. 2. I CHECKED MY POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE CONNECTION TO THE BATTERY YESTERDAY. THERE WAS SEVERE CORROSION AND 1/2 OF THE CONNECTING CLAMP WAS EATEN AWAY BY CORROSION AT THE POSITIVE SIDE OF THE BATTERY/CABLE. 3. I CLEANED THE CONNECTION AS BEST I COULD BUT I WILL BE CALLING FORD AS VEHICLE IS ONLY 1 YEAR OLD. CABLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BEFORE FAILURE.
