"TAKATA RECALL" SOMEONE IS DRAGGING THEIR FEET HERE ON SOMETHING THAT CAN CAUSE "SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH." THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS. HOW MUCH TIME IS ENOUGH? THEY STILL DON'T HAVE ALL THE PARTS TO MAKE THIS REPAIR. WHAT'S UP WITH THIS. IS THIS LEGAL? RECALL #'S 15S21 AND 16S26.
TL*- THE CONTACT WORKED FOR AVIS BUDGET AND DROVE A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STARTED THE ENGINE, SHIFTED THE GEAR TO DRIVE AND WITHOUT WARNING THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN TO 40 MPH. THE CONTACT DROVE INTO A BARRIER IN AN UNSUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. HE CRASHED INTO A PARKED VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED DAMAGE TO 3 OTHER VEHICLES. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED INJURIES WHICH WERE DUE TO THE AIR BAG, IT SCRAPED THE FLESH OFF OF HIS RIGHT ARM. THERE WERE NO PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE. THE ONLY AIR BAG THAT DEPLOYED WAS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. *AK THE CONSUMER PROVIDED COPIES OF A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. THE CONSUMER STATED WANTS SOMETHING DONE BECAUSE AVIS BUDGET KEEPS RENTING THE SAME MODEL VEHICLE WITH THE SAME DEFECT AND OTHER EMPLOYEES HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE WITH THIS MODEL CAR. CAN'T FILL THE GAS TANK AS IT CAN'T BE PUMPED ON PULLING THE GAS NOZZLE ALL THE WAY. I HAVE TO PULL THE NOZZLE ONE PULL AT A TIME TO GET GAS IN AND GAS SPLASHING BACK ON ME AND CAR. I HAVE WASTED A LOT OF GASOLINE DOING THIS AND A LOT OF TIME TH GET IT TO A 1/2 A TANK IF I'M LUCKY. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL OR DEALER FIX. *TR
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT CONVERTIBLE ,AND STATED THAT THE TOP DID NOT GO COMPLETELY DOWN. THEREFORE ,IT DID NOT STORE CORRECTLY. A CERTAIN SECTION OF THE TOP STAYED UP. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT AT HIGH SPEED THE TIP COULD PULL UP AND CAUSE A CRASH. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGE WERE BOTH 6200. *AK
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG PURCHASED ON OCTOBER 4, 2006 WITH 0 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON FEBRUARY 28, 2007 WHILE DRIVING 15 TO 20 MPH UNDER CLEAR ROAD CONDITIONS AND MODERATE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC ON PIEDMONT RD IN ATLANTA GA THE VEHICLE'S FRONT WHEELS EVENLY WENT OVER A ROCK OR BUMP ON THE ROAD. THE CONTACT FELT THE CAR WENT UP EVENLY ON BOTH FRONT WHEELS WHILE PASSING THE BUMP. HE DROVE A FEW YARDS AND TRIED TO APPLY THE BRAKES, , BUT COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO LIFT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR AND AVOID STRIKING A SECOND VEHICLE THAT HAD STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC SIGNAL. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS. AFTER COMING TO A FULL STOP THE CONTACT SLOWLY PULLED INTO A GAS STATION AND PARKED THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS FLUID LEAKING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE TOWARDS THE MIDDLE OF THE ENGINE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WERE BOTH 2018.*AK
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER HAS LINES THAT DO NOT WORK, THIS CAUSES REAR WINDOW NOT TO FULLY CLEAR OF FOG OR SNOW AND ICE. FORD WILL NOT REPLACE WINDOWS, ONLY OFFERS TO FIX LINES THAT DO NOT WORK WITH A ELECTRICAL PAINT. *AK
2007 MUSTANG: HAVE HAD NUMEROUS OF PROBLEMS WITH FILLING UP WITH GAS. THIS DOES HAPPEN QUITE OFTEN. IT'S ONLY LETTING ME FILL UP ABOUT HALF WAY AND PUMP CLICKS LIKE THE FUEL TANK IS FULL, AND IT'S NOT. I HAVEN'T DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT DUE TO MY TIME SCHEDULE. THERE WILL BE A CALL TO FORD VERY SOON FROM ME. *TR
TAKATA RECALL BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, FORD MOTOR COMPANY IS DISSOLVING ITSELF OF ANY RESPONSIBILITY AFTER SENDING A LETTER OUT THAT STATES PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. HOWEVER AFTER NOTIFYING DEALER OF LETTER FROM FORD OVER THREE WEEKS AGO AND HEARING NOTHING, CALL FORD WHOSE REPRESENTATIVE SAYS IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO GET DEALER TO GET THE PART AND SCHEDULE THE REPAIR. SINCE CALLING THE DEALER OVER 3 WEEKS AGO WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE NO ACTION WHAT AM I TO DO NEXT. IT IS EVIDENT THAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS LEAD FORD TO BELIEVE THEY HAVE DONE ALL THEY NEED TO DO WITH A LETTER "CAMPAIGN" SO WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE THE INDIVIDUAL THAT MAY BE INJURED WITH DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT. WILL A LETTER CAMPAIGN PAY MEDICAL BILLS OR LOOK AFTER MY FAMILY DEATH. ANY SUGGESTIONS??????
TL* - THE CONTACT STATED THE THROTTLE ON HIS 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT BECAME STUCK, HE HAD JUST SHIFTED INTO 2ND GEAR. HE WAS TRAVELING AT 25 MPH, BUT DOES NOT REMEMBER WHAT SPEED THE VEHICLE REACHED BEFORE HE WAS ABLE TO STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE STEPPED ON THE BRAKE AND TURNED THE POWER OFF TO THE ENGINE TO SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE AND COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS OR LIGHTS. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND THE THROTTLE AGAIN BECAME STUCK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2489 MILES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE CONTACT HAS NOT YET SPOKEN WITH THE DEALER. *JB UPDATED 6/9/08 *CN THE ENGINE RPM INCREASE INSTANTLY AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SPEED UP OUT OF CONTROL. THE CONSUMER WAS A TOLD THE VEHICLE HAD A FAULTY MASS AIR SENSOR. UPDATED 06/09/08
TL*- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. ON 1-13-07 THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH UNDER DRY CONDITIONS WHEN THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SEIZED, THE VEHICLE STOPPED WITH IN 3 SECONDS OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WASN'T A CRASH, BUT THE VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALER, WHO FIRST TOLD HIM THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE DEALER WAS TOLD BY THE MANUFACTURER TO PULL THE TRANSMISSION APART, AND THAT THEY WOULD THEN DETERMINE HOW TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND EXPLAINED THE SITUATION. THE CONTACT THEN RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALER, STATING THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT WITH THE TRANSMISSION, IT HAD BEEN CAUSE BY THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. *AK UPDATED 2/22/2007 - *NM
I AM HAVING DIFFICULTY FILLING THE GAS TANK ON THE 2007 MUSTANG. I HAD IT TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES IN THE PAST 12 WEEKS. I TRIED CONTACTING FORD DIRECTLY AND THEY CONTINUALLY REFERRED ME BACK TO THE DEALER, WHERE THERE WAS NO RESOLUTION. I AM IN OKLAHOMA AND NOT SURE WHAT THE LEMON LAWS WERE THERE. I ALSO HAVE A SEAT WHICH WAS BROKEN AND HAS BEEN FIXED TWICE. *AK
ATTEMPTED TO TURN WITH THE CURVE OF THE ROAD, CAR DID NOT RESPOND, KEPT GOING STRAIGHT DESPITE TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL. CRASHED INTO ONCOMING VEHICLE. TURNED OUT THERE WAS SUSPENSION DAMAGE TO MY CAR. WENT ONLINE TO CHECK IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR MY AUTO (2007 FORD MUSTANG), TURNS OUT THERE IS. *JB
I PURCHASED A 2007 FORD GT V-8 AUTOMATIC MUSTANG ON 10/10/06. ONE WEEK AFTER THE PURCHASE, I WAS DRIVING, AND MY THROTTLE GOT STUCK. I PULLED THE E BRAKE AND THREW THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL. AFTER STOPPED THE CAR EVENTUALLY TURNED, I BELIEVE BECAUSE THE RPM'S WERE SO HIGH. ELEVEN DAYS LATER ON 10/29/06 I TOOK OFF AND THE GAS PEDAL STARTED TO TAKE CONTROL AGAIN, YET FAILED TO GO TO THE EXTREME AS THE FIRST TIME. ON 11/07/06 APPROX 6:45 PM, I WAS DRIVING, GOING ABOUT 55 MPH. IT WAS ALREADY DARK OUTSIDE & ROADS WET. AFTER BEING SET ON A SPEED OF 50-55 MPH, I HIT THE GAS PEDAL TO GET UP TO AROUND 60 MPH. ONCE I DID, I COULD FEEL THE GAS PEDAL GO DOWN ON IT'S OWN. INSTINCT REACTION WAS TO HIT THE BRAKES, BUT WHEN I DID THE CAR STARTED SLIDING DUE TO THE WET ROAD. WHILE THE RPM'S WERE GOING UP, I THREW THE SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL AND PULLED THE E BRAKE. ONCE I FINALLY STOPPED, THE RPM'S WERE STILL EXTREME, AND THEN THE CAR FINALLY CUT OFF ON IT'S OWN. I LEFT THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT EVENING. THE FOLLOWING AFTERNOON ON 11/08/06, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE CAR WAS READY, SO I ASKED WHAT THEY HAD DETERMINED. HE STATED THAT THE FLOOR MAT WAS THE ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED TO ME, I DID NOT HAVE THE WEATHER MAT WHICH IS 5 CM THICK. IN ADDITION, HOW CAN A FLOOR MAT, MAKE A PEDAL ACCELERATE ON IT'S OWN? I COULD ACTUALLY FEEL THE GAS PEDAL GOING DOWN AS IF CRUISE CONTROL WAS JUST TURNED ON. THE DEALERSHIP ASKED IF HE COULD DRIVE MY CAR HOME TO HIS HOUSE TO DETERMINE THE ISSUE. HE ALSO STATED THAT HE WAS GOING TO PUT A FLIGHT DETECTOR ON THE CAR. I SPOKE WITH HIM ON 11/09/06; HE STATED THAT THE THROTTLE GOT STUCK ON HIM. HE STATED AGAIN THAT IT WAS A FLOOR MAT ISSUE. HE IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE MY CAR FOR ANOTHER DAY OR TWO, WITH OUT THE FLOOR MATS, TO SEE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT A FLOOR MAT CAN CAUSE SUCH A FATAL INCIDENT. EITHER WAY, I HAVE A NEW CAR THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE MY DREAM CAR AND I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE IT! *NM
RECEIVED NOTICE 3/2017 -- PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG PARTS [TAKATA RECALL] HAVE YET TO ARRIVE AT DEALERSHIP THEREFORE WORK HAS NOT BEEN DONE. CALLED DEALERSHIP AFTER RECEIPT IN MARCH AND AGAIN ON 10/30/2017 - BOTH TIMES THE DEALER DID NOT KNOW WHEN THEY CAN EXPECT TO SERVICE OUR CAR.
