2007 MUSTANG GT THROTTLE STUCK WHICH RESULTED IN AN INCREASE OF SPEED WITH NO BRAKES AVAILABLE TO ME EXCEPT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. I HAVE A 5 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION I WAS ABLE TO PUSH IN THE CLUTCH BUT MY BRAKE DID NOT WORK NOR WAS I ABLE TO TAKE IT OUT OF GEAR. I PULLED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AT THE INCREASING RATE OF SPEED OF 50 MPH,WHICH THE CAR DID STOP BUT WAS STILL TACKED OUT AT 7000 TO 8000 RPM WITH SUDDEN DECELERATION. FORD WAS CONTACTED BUT DUE TO FORD NOT ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEY WANT TO RETURN THE CAR TO ME NOT REPAIRED. I FEEL AS THOUGH NOT ONLY IS MY LIFE IN DANGER BUT ALSO MY YOUNG DAUGHTERS OR ANYONE ON THE ROAD. I AM SCARED OF THIS CAR!!!!! *TR
OWN A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. CAR HAS WON'T START ONCE IN A WHILE. IT HASN'T STARTED ABOUT 15-20 TIMES IN A TWO MONTH PERIOD. AFTER ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES OF WAITING, CAR FINALLY STARTS. IT ONLY SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN ITS A REALLY HOT DAY. CALLED TWO DEALERSHIPS AND BOTH SAID DON'T BOTHER BRINGING CAR IN UNLESS IT COMES IN ON THE BACK OF A TOW TRUCK. THEY SAID OTHERWISE, THEY PROBABLY CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHAT'S WRONG. NEED HELP! *TR
I HAVE A NEW FORD MUSTANG 6 CYL. (2007) . THE GAS PEDAL HESITATES TO "CATCH", AND THEN LURCHES THE CAR FORWARD. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH 2007 (NEW) I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO HAD IT CHECKED OUT. THEY SAID IT WAS "NORMAL" FOR THIS TO HAPPEN, AND I "WOULD GET USED TO IT". I HAVE DRIVEN IT FOR A YEAR IN THE SAN FRANCISCO AREA. IT LURCHES FORWARD WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM STOP SIGNS, TRAFFIC LIGHTS, ETC. IT IS A BIG NUISANCE, BUT I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS THAT SERIOUS UNTIL I WAS DRIVING IN THE TRINITY ALPS MOUNTAIN AREA OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. ON TWISTY MOUNTAIN ROADS THE HESITATION AND LURCHING IN THE GAS PEDAL ALMOST CAUSED ME TO GO OVER THE SIDE OF A 3000 FT MOUNTAIN ROAD! IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO KEEP CONTROL OF THIS CAR ON WINDING MOUNTAIN ROADS, AND IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS CAR ON SUCH ROADS. I JUST BROUGHT IT BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY AGAIN SAID IT WAS A "NORMAL" SITUATION FOR THIS MODEL OF CAR, AND REFUSED TO GET IT FIXED. THERE IS APPARENTLY NO WAY TO ADJUST THE THROTTLE CONTROL, UNLIKE IN OLDER CARS WITH A THROTTLE CABLE (THIS HAS A COMPUTER-TYPE CHIP). THIS MUST BE FIXED OR SOMEONE WILL EVENTUALLY GET KILLED! *TR
SINCE I BOUGHT MY CAR ABOUT 3 TO 4 MONTHS AGO, I HAVE HAD MY CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES, TO HAVE THE ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED. IT CAME ON THE 1ST TIME THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT IT, AND HAS COME ON 3 TIMES SINCE AT RANDOM TIMES. THE FORD SERVICE DEPT. HAS PUT IT THROUGH THE MACHINES THEY HAVE, AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE "VERY SMALL EVAPORATVE LEAK" THEY SAY IT HAS, THEY HAVE CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND ALL THEY CAN SAY IS THE SYSTEM IS TOO SENSITIVE FOR SOME REASON AND UNTIL THEY CAN FIND A FIX FOR IT, IF THEY CAN I WILL JUST HAVE TO KEEP BRINGING IT IN EVERY TIME IT COMES ON AND HAVE THEM RUN IT THROUGH THE MACHINE AND TURN THE LIGHT OFF. *TR
THE CAR IS A 2007 MUSTANG WITH 4.0L V6 AND 5R55S AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE CAR MAKES A WHINING SOUND WHEN ACCELERATING IN 1ST GEAR, AND A LESSER NOISE IN 2ND. IT SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I CHECKED WITH SEVERAL MUSTANG OWNERS WHO TOLD ME THAT THEIR CARS NORMALLY DON'T MAKE THAT KIND OF NOISE. FORD SERVICE CHECKED THE CAR AND CONTACTED THE FACTORY AND CONCLUDED THAT THE NOISE IS FROM THE PLANETARY GEARS AND THAT IT'S NORMAL. THEY DID NO CORRECTIVE WORK. AFTERWARDS, I FOUND THAT AN EARLIER VERSION OF THE TRANSMISSION, 5R55E HAD PROBLEMS WITH PLANETARY GEARS WHICH WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY - TSB# 02-22-2. ALSO, I FOUND 2 OR 3 PEOPLE SAID THAT THEIR MUSTANG TRANSMISSIONS MADE WHINING NOISES DUE TO INTERNAL PARTS RUBBING ON THE TRANSMISSION CASE. IN ONE CASE, THE NOISE WENT AWAY ON THE CAR AFTER THE TRANSMISSION HOUSING WAS CHANGED. IN ANOTHER CASE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. ONE PERSON DESCRIBES A SIMILAR PROBLEM IN ODI ID NUMBER : 10209790. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 6- 10 MPH, THE CONTACT REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR FAILED AND BOTH AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT'S HEAD STRUCK THE WINDSHIELD AND THE ENTIRE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE ENDED UP IN HER LAP. SHE SUSTAINED BURNS TO HER LEGS. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE LOCAL DEALER STATED THAT BECAUSE THE SPEED WAS LOW AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH, THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT RETRACTOR DID NOT RETRACT. THE DEALER FURTHER STATED THAT THIS IS HOW THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO PERFORM AND THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 25,000.
I PURCHASED MY 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT IN AUGUST OF 2007. IT WAS A FLOOR MODEL THAT THE DEALER HAD DONE MODIFICATIONS TO. ON 24 JAN 08 I WENT TO FILL "TOP-OFF" THE FUEL WHICH WAS BELOW 3/4 OF TANK. AFTER ONLY GETTING ABOUT 1.87 GALLONS IN, THE PUMP CLICKED OFF. I TRIED TO PUMP MORE GAS INTO THE TANK AND WAS SURPRISED WHEN IT STARTED TO OVERFLOW. (AFTER STARTING THE CAR BACK UP, THE FUEL GAUGE WAS STILL IN THE SAME SPOT BEFORE I STARTED FUELING) I ALSO NOTICED THAT IN THE RECENT WEEKS MY "PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT" DOES NOT READ IT IS IN THE "OFF" POSITION WHEN NO PASSENGER IS PRESENT, EVEN THOUGH IT DID READ THIS BEFORE. I HAVE SINCE CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP AND AM BRINGING THE CAR IN TO HAVE THEM CHECK THESE PROBLEMS AS WELL AS OTHERS I AM CONCERNED WITH AFTER READING THE FORUMS. *TR
ON THREE OCCASSIONS NOW, DECEMBER 29, 2007, JANUARY 19, 2008 AND JANUARY 20, 2008, THE PARKING BRAKE ON MY CAR SEEMS TO "FREEZE". I PUT THE PARKING BRAKE ON BECAUSE IT IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND WHEN RELEASING IT, IT DOES NOT. I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR FURTHER THAN A FEW FEET. I CAN SMELL BURNING RUBBER AND FEEL THE DRAG ON THE REAR WHEELS. I CAN HEAR IT ALSO. THIS HAS OCCURRED WHEN THE TEMPERATURE HAS BEEN BELOW 32 DEGREES. *TR
IN EARLY 2007, I EXPERIENCED THE FIRST LOSS OF A TIRE UNDER MYSTERIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES. I WAS TRAVELING ALONG AT ABOUT 60 MPH WHEN I EXPERIENCED SUDDEN LOSS OF PRESSURE IN A TIRE. THIS WAS NOT PRECEDED BY ANY "AUDIBLE CHIME". PERHAPS I COULD NOT HEAR SAME BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC NOISE. OVER THE NEXT 3 MONTHS I WENT THROUGH A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE ON 2 OTHER TIRES. I WENT TO THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT OTHER PEOPLE WITH SIMILAR CARS HAD APPARENT VALVE STEM FAILURE. BY THIS TIME I HAD NOTICED A VALVE STEM WITH A CRACK IN IT. WENT TO MY FORD DEALER AND PLACED A WARRANTY CLAIM WITH FORD. WAS PROMPTLY TURNED DOWN AND TREATED BADLY BY THE DEALER SERVICE MGR., ALSO. I THEN FILED A BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU CLAIM AND SUDDENLY FORD AND THE DEALER WANTED TO SETTLE. THE SETTLEMENT WAS IN A SATISFACTORY AMOUNT. WHENEVER A VEHICLE SUFFERS A SUDDEN TIRE FAILURE, SOME RISK TO THE OCCUPANTS IS LIKELY TO FOLLOW. APPARENTLY NO ONE HAS BEEN KILLED IN RELATION TO THIS PROBLEM, THANKFULLY. MY MUSTANG WAS BUILT IN FEBRUARY, 2007. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN AND COLLIDED INTO THE FRONT AND SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED. BOTH FRONTAL AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY UNTIL SEVERAL MINUTES AFTER THE CRASH. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V082000 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL) SEVERAL WEEKS AFTER THE CRASH OCCURRED. SHE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, BUT THEY WILL NOT RESPOND TO HER PHONE CALLS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 3,800.
I OWN A 2007 MUSTANG AND EVERYTIME I FUEL UP, IT ONLY ALLOWED ME TO PUT 1/2 TO 2/4 TANK FULL AND THEY IS SHUTS OFF THE GAS PUMP. I HAVE TAKE THE CAR TO MY LOCAL DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT AND TO ADVISED TO TRY DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS. THIS IS A CONTINUING PROBLEM SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN DEC OF 2007. *TR
RAIN LEAKS INTO THE CAR AND CAUSE S ALL MANNER OF PROBLEMS IN THE FUSE BOX. LIGHTS STAY ON OR DO NOT WORK, CAR CUTS OUT ON THE FREEWAY. CRUISE CONTROL WORKS INTERMITTENTLY. WINDOWS MAY GO UP AND DOWN AND THEN STAY HALF DOWN FOR SOME TIME. *TR
MY CHILD AND I WERE INJURED BY THE AIRBAGS. I CALLED FORD 2008 WHEN I GOT A RECALL NOTICE. AND I WAS TOLD I HAD NORECOURSE BECAUSE OF AIRBAGS COMING OUT TO HARD. JUST DRIVING NORMALLY, WHEN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION REACHES ITS OPERATING TEMPERATURE, A LOUD WHINE COMES FROM THE TRANSMISSION IN 2ND GEAR ONLY. BROUGHT THE MUSTANG BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE SERVICE ADVISOR COULD NOT VERIFY THE NOISE AND THEY REFUSED TO TAKE FURTHER ACTION. *TR
PASSENGER DOOR APPEARS TO BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT, DRAGGING-METAL CATCHING NOISE. WAITING TO RESOLVE ISSUE. *TR
I HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT ABOUT GAS FILL-UP. I LIVE NEAR THE BEACH AND I NOTICED SOMETHING RATHER STRANGE ABOUT THE WIND OFF THE COASTLINE. IF THE CAR WAS FACING EAST , IT FILLED JUST FINE BUT WHEN FACING WEST IT WOULD NOT FILL. THE DEALER WAS STUMPED. IT APPEARS THAT THE BREEZE/WIND CAUSES THE FUMES TO TRAP AND THE CAR THINKS IT'S FULL ALREADY . . . IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE BUT NO PROBLEM ANYMORE FILLING THE TANK - JUST KEEP THE CAR FACING THE WIND!! *TR
2007 MUSTANG GT EQUIPPED WITH THE 5RSS5 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. "WHINING" SOUND COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHEN IN 2ND GEAR AFTER IT HAS REACHED OPERATING TEMPERATURE. SERVICE ADVISOR ADVISED THAT ITS NORMAL AND NO SERVICE IS REQUIRED EVEN WITHOUT MECHANIC TO INSPECT THE PROBLEM. ADVISOR DID NOT WRITE UP SERVICE TICKET. LATER DISCOVERED A FELLOW OWNER HAD SAME PROBLEM AND IT FOUND THAT THE 2ND GEAR CLUTCH WAS FAULTY AND WAS RUBBING THE CASE FROM THE INSIDE CAUSING THE WHINING SOUND. CASE WAS REPLACED AND SOUND WAS GONE. ANOTHER INCIDENT WAS DISCOVERED, AND OWNER STATED IT LED TO COMPLETE FAILURE DUE TO METAL PARTICLES CIRCULATING IN THE SYSTEM DESTROYING THE OTHER GEARS AFTER PROLONGED USE. *TR
LOOSE BOLTS ON DRIVERS ARM, NOT CLOSING EASILY. DEALER TIGHTENED BOLTS ON DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. *TR
MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING DOWN THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY ON THE MORNING OF 11/3/07 WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE (SIDE) AIRBAG DEPLOYED FOR NO APPARENT REASON. SHE WAS OBVIOUSLY VERY SCARED BY THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT BUT MANAGED TO STAY IN CONTROL OF THE CAR AND AVOID CRASHING. WE BROUGHT THE CAR IMMEDIATELY TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE SHE PURCHASED THE CAR. THE DEALER DEALT WITH FORD WITH REGARD TO THE INCIDENT AND ON THURSDAY 11/8/07 I GOT A CALL FROM THE DEALER SAYING THAT FORD DETERMINED THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WAS CAUSED BY A STONE KICKING UP OFF THE ROAD AND HITTING THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR. MY CONCERN IS FOR MY DAUGHTER'S SAFETY AND NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH FORDS EXPLANATION ON THE CAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. FORD HAS NOT OFFERED ANY OTHER EXPLANATIONS OR TAKEN ANY ACTIONS THAT WOULD MAKE ME COMFORTABLE IN KNOWING THAT THIS WOULD NOT COULD NOT OCCUR AGAIN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE FUELING THE VEHICLE, THE TANK ONLY FILLS UP HALFWAY. THE CONTACT NOTICED THIS WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY ACCEPT $10 WORTH OF GAS, WHICH IS EQUAL TO A HALF TANK. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULD FIND NO FAILURE AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. THE DEALER INFORMED HIM OF THE POSSIBILITY OF PRESSURE BUILD UP AND AN EXPLOSION. FORD MOTOR COMPANY INFORMED HIM THAT HE WAS STUCK WITH THE VEHICLE UNTIL THEY COULD FIND A REMEDY. HE WAS ADVISED TO CONTINUE FUELING THE VEHICLE AS NEEDED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE COULD ONLY PUMP SIX GALLONS OF GAS INTO THE VEHICLE. THE PUMP HANDLE SUDDENLY STOPPED PUMPING GAS AND THERE WAS NO OVERFLOW, WARNING INDICATORS, OR NOISES. THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS HALF FULL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THE 2005 MODEL THAT WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10014651 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE DEALER COULD NOT REPAIR THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE GAS TANK HAD TWO PARTS AND WAS NOT TRANSFERRING THE GAS TO THE SECOND TANK. NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,065 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,500. UPDATED 3/4/08 *CN
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 FORD MUSTANG. THE FRONTAL AIR BAG LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF INTERMITTENTLY WHEN A 13 YEAR OLD WEIGHING 115 POUNDS IS SEATED IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE DEALER SPOKE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FLASHING LIGHT WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE. THE VIN AND DEALER INFORMATION WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19.
TAKATA RECALL
I HAVE AN 07 FORD MUSTANG GT. IT HAS A LITTLE OVER 18000 MILES ON IT AND THE THROTTLE HAS STUCK SEVERAL TIMES. I PRESS THE BRAKE AND REACH DOWN AND PULL UP THE PEDAL. THE DEALER FIRST TRIED TO TELL ME IT WAS THE FLOOR MAT. IT IS NOT, THE FLOOR MAT DOES NOT COME INTO CONTACT WITH THE PEDAL. THROUGH A BBB ARBITRATION FORD WAS TOLD TO REPLACE THE VEHICLE. THE SECOND VEHICLE DOES THE SAME THING. WHEN PRESSED TO THE FLOOR THE PEDAL STICKS AND THE CAR CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM THAT THE DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE, SO THEY CANNOT FIX IT. I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH FAST REFLEXES AND SHORT LEGS SO I CAN HOLD THE BRAKE ON AND PULL UP THE GAS PEDAL WHILE KEEPING CONTROL OF THE CAR. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT HAS GIVEN UP TRYING TO REPAIR IT. THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. *TR
I CURRENTLY OWN A 2007 FORD MUSTANG WITH 13,500 MILES ON IT. LESS THAN A YEAR AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR I HAD ONLY 5,000 MILES ON IT AND MY TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM WENT OF ON A MILD SEPTEMBER DAY. I PULLED OVER AT A GAS STATION LESS THAN A BLOCK FROM WHEN THE SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AND FOUND THE LEFT REAR TIRE VALVE STEM WAS CRACKED AT THE BASE WHERE IT SEATS IN THE RIM. I FILLED THE TIRE AND MADE IT ANOTHER BLOCK TO A TIRE REPAIR STORE, WHERE THEY REPLACED ACTUALLY TWO VALVE STEMS THAT WERE BAD. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND COMPLAINED. I WAS TOLD TO CALL THE TIRE MANUFACTURER AS IF I WAS SOME DUMB WOMAN. AS A WOMAN WORKING IN A MANS FIELD AS A MECHANIC I KNOW THAT TIRES DO NOT COME WITH VALVE STEMS TIRES COME AS TIRE AND I ARGUED THAT WITH THE DEALERSHIP. THEY FINALLY AGREED TO LOOK AT THE CAR, AND FOUND THAT THE TIRE GOING FLAT RUINED THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM BAND AND DAMAGED THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. THEY AGREED TO REPLACE THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR BAND AND ORDERED A REPLACEMENT TIRE FOR ME. JUST A WEEK AGO WITH THE 13,000 MILES ON THE CAR I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN WITH THE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR SYSTEM GOING OFF AND I IMMEDIATELY CHECKED THE VALVE STEMS AND FOUND ANOTHER VALVE STEM THAT WAS CRACKED APART. I WENT BACK TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY QUESTION WHY IT WAS THE LEFT REAR TIRE AGAIN AS I REPLIED THAT I HAD MY TIRES ROTATED AND THEN THEY ASKED IF I HAD "CURBED" THE CAR OR TIRES. EVERY TIME YOU GO TO PUT FUEL IN THE CAR, THE PUMP WILL KICK OFF LIKE THE FUEL TANK IS FULL BUT IT'S NOT. THEN THE WHOLE TIME YOU ARE TRYING TO PUMP GAS IT WILL KICK OFF PROBABLY 20 MORE TIMES UNTIL YOU ARE DONE. THIS IS BEEN ONGOING EVERY SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. DRIVER SIDE WINDOW DOOR AREA HAS A TAPPING AND POPPING SOUND WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS. THE WINDOW AND DOOR AREA ALSO PRODUCES A RUBBER RUBBING SOUND WHEN IT IS COLD AND OR DAMP. THE TAPPING NOISE GOES AWAY WHEN IT IS WARM OUTSIDE. I HAVE TOLD STAR FORD OF GLENDALE MANY TIMES THAT THE NOISES ARE MOSTLY WHEN IT IS COLD. FORDS Q.A.SUGGESTED THAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN FROM THE CONVERTIBLE TOP OR FROM THE ASSEMBLY LINE. STAR FORD WILL NOT TEST THE VEHICLE WHEN IT IS COLD OUT DUE TO THEIR WORK STARTING TIME. THERE IS A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF PRESSURE BUILD UP IN FUEL TANK WHEN FILLING. SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN DURING EXTREME TEMPERATURES (I.E. SUMMER HEAT, EXTREME COLD). IT TAKES THREE TIMES AS LONG TO FILL DUE TO THE FACT THAT I CAN BARELY PULL THE TRIGGER IF I WANT THE CAR TO ACCEPT GAS. *TR
NOTICED BRAKES FELT SOFT, WENT TO CHECK FLUID, NOTICED BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING OUT OF CAP AND MOISTURE WAS ACCUMULATING ON RESERVOIR-WIPED AWAY AND THE MOISTURE RETURNED, THE FLUID LEVEL WAS FINE BUT CONTINUOUSLY FLUID IS BUILDING UP. TOOK TO LOCAL FORD DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS FINE, HOWEVER DIDN'T MAKE AN ATTEMPT TO REPLACE CAP. *TR
SINCE NEW DELIVERY, MY CAR LEAKS RAINWATER ONTO THE THRESHOLD TO THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR SEAL. TO REMOVE THE WATER AFTER IT STOPS RAINING IT IS NECESSARY TO OPEN THE DOOR AND LET IT RUN OUT WHEN DOING THIS THE WATER IS NOT COMING OUT OF THE DESIGNED DRAIN HOLES IN THE DOOR. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS I GET ICE BUILDING UP ON THE DOOR GASKET AND THRESHOLD POTENTIALLY LOCKING ME OUT OR PERHAPS BENDING SHEET METAL. I EXPERIENCED IT ONCE BUT WAS ABLE TO GET IN. MY WIFE IS 5 FT TALL; THERE IS NO WAY SHE COULD OPEN THE DOOR IN SIMILAR CONDITIONS AND SHE WOULD BE STRANDED. AFTER 7 TRIPS TO THE SERVICE DEPT WITH LITTLE OR NO IMPROVEMENT, FORD MAINTAINS THAT WATER BUILD UP LIKE THIS IS NORMAL AND ACCORDING TO DESIGN. I THINK WATER AND/OR ICE DAMAGE WILL EVENTUALLY REDUCE THE STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY OF THE CAR. I HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING IN THE CAR ONCE DUE TO ICE, SO PRUDENTLY HAVE STOPPED TAKING IT IN RAIN OR SNOW. THE CAR IS ALWAYS DAMP FEELING AND MUSTY SMELLING ( I HAVE ALLERGIES) BECAUSE I THINK THE INNER DOOR PANELS HAVE BEEN SOAKED REPEATEDLY. I HAVE DIGITAL PHOTOS AVAILABLE. THE FIRST INDICATION THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WAS WHEN THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE. I NOTICED THIS AND MENTIONED IT TO THE SERVICE WRITER WHEN THE CAR WAS IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. I WAS TOLD TO TRY DIFFERENT THINGS TO GET IT TO GO INTO REVERSE MORE EASILY. SOON AFTER THE REVERSE ISSUE I STARTED THE HAVE PROBLEMS SHIFTING INTO GEAR WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR AT TIMES. AT SOME POINT THE CAR STARTED TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR WHILE ACCELERATING. THIS CAN BE DANGEROUS WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. I AT FIRST THOUGHT MAYBE I WAS AT FAULT, BUT SOON REALIZED THAT THE PROBLEM WAS WITH THE CAR. WHEN I INVESTIGATED THE PROBLEM I FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT. THERE WAS A TSB PUT OUT ON THE MODEL YEARS 2007-2009. FORD NEVER INFORMED US THE ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND/OR CLUTCH. NOW THEY TELL US THAT OUR 3/36,000 WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT, SO THAT IF THE CLUTCH IS PART OF THE PROBLEM IT WON'T BE COVERED. FORD SHOULD HAVE INFORMED THE OWNERS OF THIS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THE CAR. THEY OBVIOUSLY KNEW ABOUT IT, AND DID REPAIR MANY OF THEM. I REALIZE THAT THE NEWER MODEL YEARS ARE ALSO HAVING THESE ISSUES. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL PUT OUT ON THESE CARS. THERE ARE MANY SHELBY GT 500 OWNERS WHO MAY NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE.
2007 SALEEN MUSTANG,(FORD), NO REAR VIEW. BACK WINDOW IS BLOCKED BY SPOILER AND BACK SIDE WINDOWS ARE REPLACED AT THE FACTORY WITH SOLID FIBERGLASS. SIMILAR TO THE 2010 FUSION PROBLEM OF STUCK ACCELERATOR, I HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED EVER SINCE I RECEIVED THE MATS IN JUNE OF 2007 AND HAS OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES! THE ALL-WEATHER MAT IS SITTING ON TOP OF THE STANDARD MAT AND SLIPS FORWARD. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS DEPRESSED FULLY, IT DOES GET STUCK UNDER THE ALL-WEATHER MAT. IN ONE INCIDENT, I WAS ON A FREEWAY GOING TO PASS A VEHICLE. WHEN I FLOORED THE ACCELERATOR, IT STUCK! I HAD FILED A COMPLAINT A FEW WEEKS AGO ( ODI# 10192797) ABOUT THE POWER STEERING PUMP FAILURE ON MY 2007 MUSTANG GT WHICH HAD 270 MILES ON IT. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE PUMP UNDER THE WARRANTY AND I HAD MENTIONED A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT END ALSO. I RETURNED THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP AND TO MY DISMAY, WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE MY FRONT STRUTS, THEY EXPLAINED THAT THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF MY ALIGNMENT ISSUE. THEY FURTHER EXPLAINED TO ME THAT THEY THINK THAT WHILE MY CAR WAS BEING TRANSPORTED VIA TRAIN, THAT THEY TIED THE CAR DOWN TOO TIGHTLY CAUSING STRESS ON THE STRUTS AND CASTERS CAUSING THE ALIGNMENT AND STEERING WHEEL ISSUES. THE WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED AND COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND ALTHOUGH THE ALIGNMENT ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BACK IN ITS NORMAL POSITION I HAVE NOTICED A THUMPING NOISE FROM THE RIGHT FRONT WHEN GOING OVER BUMPS, ALMOST LIKE A BAD STRUT MOUNT OR SOMETHING. IN ALL FAIRNESS TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO IS FIXING MY CAR, THEY HAVE BEEN EXCELLENT WITH ME AND THIS HAS ALL BEEN COVERED UNDER WARRANTY . MY CAR NOW HAS 1,700 MILES ON IT AND AM WORRIED I MAY HAVE TO SWAP IT OUT FOR ANOTHER WHICH I REALLY DO NOT WANT TO DO AT THIS POINT, IT TOOK A LOT OF RESEARCH TO MIX AND MATCH ALL THE COLORS AND THE OPTIONS THAT MY CAR HAS. *TR

2007 FORD MUSTANG GT HAS INTERMITTENT BRAKING PROBLEMS, IT PULLED HARD RIGHT/LEFT. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE TWICE, THE FIRST TIME THEY FELT IT AND CUT THE ROTORS. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. I WENT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, WHO DETERMINED THIS CAR SHOULD GO TO ENGINEERING ,AND PROBABLY SHOULD BE BOUGHT BACK. PURCHASED THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE SHOWROOM ALTHOUGH IT HAD 81 MILES ON IT. ON MY 3RD DAY WITH 240 MILES ON IT, THE POWER STEERING PUMP STOPPED WORKING. I WAS DRIVING MY 2007 FORD MUSTANG GT DOWN CITY STREETS WHEN THE ACCELERATOR LOCKED UP. THE CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE DESPITE REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE GAS PEDAL AND APPLYING THE BRAKES DID LITTLE TO HELP SLOW THE CAR. THIS CAUSED ME TO RUN A 3-WAY INTERSECTION, WHICH FORCED ME TO TURN AT DANGEROUS RATE OF SPEED. I ENDED UP RUNNING THE CAR OFF THE ROAD, OVER A CURB/SIDEWALK AND INTO A SMALL TREE TO STOP IT.
