I HAD JUST LEFT MY HOUSE AND PULLED OUT ONTO THE ROAD. AS THE VEHICLE STARTED TO ACCELERATE, THE CAR SUDDENLY SHOOK AND SHUDDERED AND WOULDN'T RESPOND TO THE GAS PEDAL. THE WRENCH SYMBOL CAME ON THE DASH. THE CAR WOULD NOT RESPOND TO PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 3 OR 4 MILES AN HOUR. I PUT ON THE HAZARD LIGHTS, AS THERE WERE VEHICLES COMING UP BEHIND ME ON THE TWO-LANE ROAD AND THEY HAD TO GO AROUND ME. IT WAS VERY SCARY NOT BEING ABLE TO CONTROL THE CAR AND GET OUT OF THE WAY OF OTHER VEHICLES. THIS WAS THE FIRST INCIDENT WITH THE VEHICLE, NO PRIOR WARNING OF ANY ISSUES. PRELIMINARY RESEARCH SHOWS THAT OTHER FORD VEHICLES HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THROTTLE BODY FAILURES, WITH VERY SIMILAR DESCRIPTIONS TO THIS ISSUE WITH MY 2012 FORD MUSTANG.
AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON I-295 IN MODERATELY HEAVY TRAFFIC, THERE WAS AN AUDIBLE "CLUNK" AND VEHICLE IMMEDIATELY BEGAN DECELERATING. PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL DID NOT POWER THE VEHICLE. DRIVER WAS ALREADY IN THE FAR RIGHT LANE PREPARING TO EXIT, SO SAFELY MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER. HAD DRIVER BEEN IN ANOTHER LANE, THERE WOULD BE SIGNIFICANT RISK OF COLLISION AS THE VEHICLE LOST POWER SO QUICKLY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FORD DEALER, WHO REPORTED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED. FORD DENIED THAT THROTTLE BODY FAILURE WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE MUSTANG, ALTHOUGH IT HAS BEEN IN SEVERAL OTHER FORD MODELS. *TR
THE LEADING EDGE OF THE HOOD IS SHOWING SIGNS OF CORROSION UNDER THE PAINT. FORD KNOWS OF THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOT COVER THE DEFECT PAST THE STANDARD RUST THROUGH WARRANTY MILEAGE. *TR
THE 2012 MUSTANG IS EQUIPPED WITH AN SYSTEM CALLED ADVANCTRAC. IT IS AN ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM THAT WORKS IN COORDINATION WITH THE ELECTRONIC ASSISTED POWER STEERING. THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING MY CAR TOTALLY SHUT DOWN NOSE DIVED AND TURNED RIGHT BACK ON. WHEN IT RETURNED TO POWER THE ADVANCTRAC SYSTEM HAD TOTALLY SHUT. THE WHEEL WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN DUE TO THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM SHUTTING DOWN. HAD THIS BEEN IN A CORNER AT SPEED ON A HIGHWAY I WOULD HAVE CERTAINLY LEFT THE ROAD. UPON INVESTIGATING MY CAR I FOUND A BLOWN 100AMP FUSE BY MY BATTERY. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. ALL ANYONE NEEDS TO DO IS HIT THE INTERNET AND SEE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THIS EXACT ISSUE WITH THIS CAR. BE IT FROM THE FUSE OR SOMETHING ELSE THIS SHUTDOWN IS FREQUENT. IN LIEU OF RECENT ISSUES WITH GM I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT FORD IS IGNORING THIS. THIS CAN AND COULD BE A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ANYONE. I CONTACTED FORD AND THE DEALER TODAY AND THEY BLEW ME OFF SO NOW I AM CONTACTING YOU. HOPEFULLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAS HAD THIS ISSUE. *TR
2012 FORD MUSTANG THROWS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH GOING INTO "LIMP MODE" (CAR CUTS ALL ACCELERATION, AND JUST IDLES). I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AND SHUT VEHICLE OFF. VEHICLE RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER ONE OR TWO TURN ONS. THIS WILL OCCUR EVERY OTHER DAY, AND MULTIPLE TIMES IN A DAY. VERY DANGEROUS IF IT WAS TO HAPPEN WHILE MERGING IN TRAFFIC. THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER FORD POWERTRAIN OR EMISSIONS WARRANTY, THEY CLAIM THAT IT IS AN "ATTACHMENT" TO THE ENGINE, NOT A PART OF IT. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED THEM TO EXTEND THEIR WARRANTIES ON THE FORD ESCAPE AND FUSION, BUT NOT THEIR OTHER VEHICLES AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE QUOTED ME $700 DOLLARS TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE THROTTLEBODY. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE, THAT IS LINKED TO MORE THAN JUST THE FORD ESCAPE AND FUSION, AND FORD HAS NOT GIVEN THEIR OTHER VEHICLES OWNER'S THE SAME WARRANTY. *JS
ACCORDING TO MY FORD DEALERSHIP, THE SYNCHRONIZERS BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND BEARS FAILED. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THIS TRANSMISSION PREVIOUSLY, CAUSING THE CAR TO FAIL TO SHIFT WHILE ACCELERATING. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS, AS FAILURE TO ACCELERATE WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC WOULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC. THANKFULLY, I WAS IN A PARKING LOT WHEN MY TRANSMISSION FAILED. *JS
MY 2012 FORD MUSTANG HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS STARTING WITH THE VEHICLE IN THE PARK POSITION. ALL OF THE APPROPRIATE LIGHTS ON THE DASH COME ON, BUT THE CAR WILL NOT CRANK UNTIL I PLACE THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER INTO THE NEUTRAL POSITION. THIS HAPPENS WITH THE CAR PARKED ON LEVEL GROUND AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKES APPLIED AND I HAVE VERIFIED THAT THE INDICATOR SHOWS THE P FOR PARK. AFTER, DOING RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND THAT FORD RECALLED SOME 2012/13 MUSTANGS FOR THE TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR (TRS) WHICH WAS NOT PROPERLY CALIBRATED AFFECTING THE STARTER INTERLOCK PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION IS PLACED IN NEUTRAL. THE RECALL WAS 12C23, NHTSA # 12V190000, MY 2012 MUSTANG WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL, BUT I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH AN IMPROPERLY CALIBRATED (TRS). *TR
I TOOK MY 2012 FORD MUSTANG (62,000 MILES) TO A FORD DEALER TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED. THEY TALKED ME INTO A TRANSMISSION FLUID CHANGE, BECAUSE IT WOULD "EXTEND THE LIFE OF MY VEHICLE". WHEN I PICKED IT UP, IT WAS NOT RUNNING RIGHT. THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THEY REPLACED SOME SENSORS AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. I MADE IT HOME BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T START THE NEXT MORNING. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, AFTER THEM ATTEMPTING TO FIX IT 3 TIMES AND IT STILL NOT BEING FIXED, THEY FINALLY REPLACED THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE. I PICKED UP THE CAR AND IT STILL MAKING A LOUD NOISE CHANGING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. I SEE THAT THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON SOME 2012 MUSTANGS FOR A POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL.

AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING IT THE VEHICLE FUNCTIONED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TAKATA RECALL- WHEN WILL REPLACEMENTS BE AVAILABLE. IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE WE WERE ADVISED OUR MUSTANG AIR BAGS NEED TAKATA REPLACEMENTS. TONY
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE CLUTCH WILL NOT RELEASE AT HIGH RPMS. THE SPEEDOMETER READS INCORRECTLY. THE DRIVERS SEAT IS LOOSE.
"TAKATA RECALL" PURCHASED VEHICLE THEN LEARNED AFTER 2 YEARS OF DEFECT.
AFTER WASHING MY CAR, I NOTICED THAT THE PAINT AROUND THE FRONT OF THE HOOD WAS BUBBLING. I TOOK IT TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THE HOOD IS ALUMINUM AND THE PAINT HAS BEEN KNOWN TO BUBBLE AND WILL EVENTUALLY START TO FLAKE OFF. FORD HAS NOT DONE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE ONLY WAY TO FIX IT WOULD BE TO REPLACE THE HOOD. THIS IS HAPPENING ALL ALONG THE FRONT EDGE OF THE HOOD AT THIS TIME. MY CAR HAS 44,000 MILES ON IT, IS NOT DRIVEN IN THE WINTER AND GARAGED ALMOST EVERY NIGHT. IT REMINDS ME OF THE 1989 MUSTANG I HAD THAT FORD ENDED UP HAVING TO REPAINT BECAUSE OF THE BAD PRIMER. PLEASE MAKE FORD OFFER A RECALL ON THIS. FUEL SYSTEM PROBLEM: EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM RELATED FAILURE, FUEL FILL NECK FAILURE (POSSIBLY AT CONNECTION TO FUEL TANK) AND UNKNOWN OTHER LEAK. DEALER CLAIMS NOT COVERED BY CALIFORNIA OR FEDERAL EMISSIONS REQUIRED WARRANTY. DEALER REPORTS SEEING FUEL FILLER NECK PROBLEMS ON MUSTANG AND OTHER FORD VEHICLES. (POSSIBLE CONCERN FOR FUEL OR VAPOR LEAKAGE, SAFETY RELATED CONCERN) MUSTANG USES "NASCAR" STYLE FUEL DOOR THAT IS CLEARLY SUSPECT, DOESN'T STAY SEALED TIGHT, OPENS UNEXPECTEDLY AND ALLOWS RAW FUEL EMISSIONS INTO ATMOSPHERE. DURING ACCELERATION TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC ON A HWY WITH VEHICLES APPROACHING AT 80 MPH MY GAS THROTTLE STUCK AFTER I REACHED THE SPEED OF 60 MPH. THE PEDAL PULLED AWAY FROM MY FOOT ACCELERATING RAPIDLY. I TRIED TO TAP PEDAL TO RELEASE IT BUT IT JUST STUCK. I QUICKLY HIT THE BRAKE AND IT FINALLY RELEASED. I HAD BEEN TRAVELING WITH THE CRUISE ON PRIOR BUT THIS OCCURRENCE, BUT I HAD BEEN STOPPED FOR 5 MINUTES. I PLAN TO INFORM MY FORD LOT NEXT WEEK WHEN I GET THE OIL CHANGED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE SPEED DECELERATED TO 10 MPH AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
I BROUGHT MY 2012 MUSTANG GT WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION IN TO BE SERVICED BECAUSE OF AN AWFUL NOISE OCCURRING WHILE SHIFTING IN AND OUT OF 5TH GEAR. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT NOW SAYS I NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION AT 38,000 MILES. *TR
ON 02-25-2014 AT APPROXIMATELY 0800 MY WIFE ([XXX]) WAS DRIVING OUR 2012 FORD MUSTANG GT, SHE TURNED ON THE HEATED SEATS AND WAS TRAVELING NORTH BOUND ON GA HWY 49 WHEN THE SEAT WARMER MALFUNCTIONED OVERHEATING AND BURNING A HOLE THROUGH THE LEATHER SEAT BACK, CAUSING A FIRST DEGREE BURN TO THE BOTTOM LEFT FLANK OF HER BACK. ON 02-27-2014 WE TOOK OUR 2012 FORD MUSTANG GT TO RIVERSIDE FORD/LINCOLN IN MACON, GA WE ADVISED THEM OF THE INCIDENT, THEY CHARGED US $95.00 TO INSPECT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND DETERMINE WHAT CAUSED THE SEAT WARMER TO MALFUNCTION AND BURN A HOLE THROUGH THE SEAT BACK AND CAUSE A FIRST DEGREE BURN TO MY WIFE'S BACK. RIVERSIDE FORD STATED THE CIRCUIT FOR THE SEAT MALFUNCTIONED/FAILED CAUSING THE SEAT WARMER TO OVERHEAT AND BURN A HOLE THROUGH THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BACK. RIVERSIDE FORD STATED OUR MUSTANG WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND WE WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIRING/REPLACE THE DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT OF OUR MUSTANG AT A COST TO US OF $1,142.36 (PARTS $715.76, LABOR $350.00, MISC. $26.50, AND TAX $50.10). I CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER (1-800-392-3673) SPOKE WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AND OPENED A CASE (CASE #: [XXX]) THEY STATED THERE WERE NO RECALLS CONCERNING THE SEAT WARMERS IN THE FORD MUSTANG'S AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR US CONCERNING REPLACING/REPAIRING THE DRIVERS SEAT IN OUR VEHICLE BUT THEY WOULD BE LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM. THEY DID ADVISE US TO SAVE OUR SEAT WHEN WE PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED IN CASE THERE IS A RECALL AT A LATER DATE. I AM GLAD MY WIFE WAS NOT MORE SERIOUSLY HURT THAN SHE WAS AND THAT SHE TURNED THE SEAT WARMER OFF BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND POSSIBLE CAUSING AN ACCIDENT OR HARMING OTHER MOTORIST AROUND HER. NOTICED WHILE WASHING MY CAR THAT THE PAINT ON MY 2012 MUSTANG WAS BLISTERED ON THE HOOD . SEARCHED THE INTERNET TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL OR OTHER PEOPLE THAT EXPERIENCED THE SAME THING AND TO MY DISMAY FOUND THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH PAINT BLISTERING AND ALUMINUM CORROSION ON THE MUSTANGS. I HAVE 45,000 MILES ON MY CAR AND HAVE SURPASSED THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. I TALKED TO A LOCAL DEALER AND ASKED IF THIS IS CONSIDERED UNDER THE CORROSION WARRANTY AND HE SAID THE CAR HAS TO BE EATEN CLEAR THROUGH BEFORE THEY CONSIDER UNDER THAT PART OF THE WARRANTY. UNDERSTAND THAT THERE WAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN THAT FORD SENT TO THEIR DEALERS DETAILING THE ALUMINUM CORROSION & PAINT BLISTERING PROBLEM AND HOW TO SERVICE IT. FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR STARTED ACTING LIKE IT WAS RUNNING OUT OFF GAS. THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. WE NOW KNOW THE PROBLEM OCCURS ONLY WHEN SOMEONE SITS IN THE BACK SEAT BEHIND THE DRIVER. WE HAVE DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM NUMEROUS TIMES. SITTING IT THE BACK SEAT CAUSES SOMETHING TO SHORT OUT AND THE CAR DIES. THIS WAS VERY DANGEROUS IN REAL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND WE ARE LUCKY NO ONE WAS HURT. *TR

I WAS DRIVING MY 2012 FORD MUSTANG V6 PREMIUM ON THE MORNING OF 10\21\2013 WHEN FOR THE 4TH TIME THE ADVANCE TRACTION CONTROL MALFUNCTIONED. WHEN IT MALFUNCTIONED THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH AND I WAS UNABLE TO STEER MY CAR, BLOWER ON MY AIR CONDITIONER CAME ON BY ITS SELF FULL BLAST. WHILE I WAS TRYING TO GET CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE A EIGHTEEN WHEELER HAD TO GO OFF THE INTERSTATE INTO THE GRASS TO KEEP FROM RUNNING MY CAR OVER! THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 OTHER TIMES STARTING AT ABOUT 13000 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS ONLY GETTING WORSE!! I CARRIED IT TO THE SHOP WHEN IT FIRST STARTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM THEY TOLD ME THEN THAT THE CONTROL MODULE WAS UNDER NATIONAL BACK ORDER AT IT WAS GOING TO BE 6 TO 8 WEEKS BEFORE THEY WOULD HAVE TO PART IN FOR MY CAR. THE DEALER WAS TOLD BY TECH SUPPORT TO REPLACE MY 2012 PART WITH A 2013 PART??? THEY DID THAT EVEN THOUGH THE PART NUMBER WAS DIFFERENT. THE NEXT TIME I CARRIED THE CAR IN THE SHOP FOR THE TRACTION CONTROL THEY KEEP MY CAR AND DID NOTHING.THE THIRD TIME I CARRIED IT TO THE SHOP FOR THE SAME THING THE TECH CONNECTED TO THE CAR TO THE COMPUTER THE ALTERNATOR SENT CRAZY WAVES TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND IT MESSED UP THE BATTERY THEY HAD TO CHANGE THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY. AND EVEN WITH EVERYTHING THEY HAVE DONE THE CAR IS STILL UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY TELL ME TO TAKE THE CAR AND WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN THEY WILL CHECK IT AGAIN. MY DAUGHTER'S 2012 MUSTANG WOULD LOSE POWER AT AROUND 40 MPH WHEN ACCELERATING. THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD LIGHT UP AND THE CAR WOULD IDLE VERY ROUGH WHEN CAR WAS STOPPED. PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A THROTTLE BEING STUCK OPEN AND THE THROTTLE HOUSING WAS REPLACED WHICH SOLVED THE PROBLEM. *JS

OUR 2012 FORD MUSTANG IS UNDER FULL WARRANTY. WHEN DRIVING ABOUT 5 MPH IN PARKING LOTS GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS WE NOTICED THERE IS A CREAKING/SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION. WE TOOK OUR CAR TO THE DEALER WE BOUGHT IT FROM WHICH WAS NORTH PARK LINCOLN AND THEY CANNOT DIAGNOSE OR FIND THE ISSUE. THE FIRST TIME WE TOOK IT THE MECHANICS SAID THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND THEY LUBED THE FRONT SUSPENSION. WELL THE NOISE WAS STILL THERE AND WE TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE YET TO FIND AN ISSUE WITH THE SUSPENSION. WHEN WE BOUGHT THE MUSTANG THE EXACT SAME NOISE OCCURRED IN THE REAR AND THE DEALER REPLACED THE BUSHINGS AND LINKS AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY. WE ARE TRYING TO TELL THE DEALER IT'S THE BUSHING, LINKS, AND SWAY BAR BUT THEY REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING. I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE WHEN THE STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT. WHEN I WOULD TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, IT WOULD KEEP TURNING. A WEEK PREVIOUS, I HAD FOUND A BOLT ON MY FLOORBOARD AND I PUT IT IN MY CONSOLE. WHILE DRIVING MY FORD MUSTANG AFTER A RAIN STORM I HEARD A VERY LOUD WATER SWISHING NOISE AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY. I QUICKLY ASCERTAINED THAT THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE DRIVER'S DOOR. I WAS EXTREMELY SHOCKED AND CONCERNED AND HURRIED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DOOR WAS TAKEN APART IN THE SERVICE AREA AND A LARGE QUANTITY OF WATER POURED OUT. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS PROBLEM WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO! WHEN THE DOOR WAS APART I COULD CLEARLY SEE THAT THERE WERE NUMEROUS WIRES AND CONNECTORS THAT COULD CLEARLY BE IN JEOPARDY FROM SPLASHING WATER AND THE DOOR INTERIOR WAS VERY WET. I NERVOUSLY DROVE THE CAR HOME AND COVERED IT AND HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT SINCE BECAUSE WE HAVE EXPERIENCED A LOT OF RAIN. I TURNED RIGHT AT TRAFFIC SIGNAL INTO A MERGE LANE AND ACCELERATED TO APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH AND MERGED LEFT. AT THIS POINT THE CAR STARTED JERKING AND MAKING A LOUD NOISE. I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PETAL AND COULD FEEL THE BRAKES BEING ACTIVATED, THE CAR LOST POWER AND CONTINUED THE JERKING FOR APPROXIMATELY 200 YARD. OTHER CARS BEHIND ME BEGAN BLOWING THEIR HORNS. I DO BELIEVE SOME OF THE DASH LIGHT CAME ON BUT AT THE TIME I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT STAYING ON THE ROAD AND WAS NOT LOOKING TOO CLOSELY AT THE DASH. THE SECOND INCIDENCE WAS ON JAN. 16, 2014. ALL THIS WAS REPORTED TO THE FORD DEALER. THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE INCIDENT AND OFFERED NO HELP. *TR

UPON TAKING OFF FROM A STOP LIGHT CAR STALLED AND LOST ALL ENGINE POWER. CAR STARTED AGAIN BUT STALLED JUST AS GUIDING TO BREAKDOWN LANE ON OVERPASS. HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO FORD SERVICE WHERE THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A BAD THROTTLE BODY. THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED. FORD SERVICE SPOKE OF KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE THROTTLE BODY IN FOCUS MODELS BUT WAS NOT AWARE OF ANY THROTTLE BODY ISSUES WITH MUSTANG. *TR
122512 WHEN GOING OVER SPEED HUMPS VEHICLE MAKES SQUEAKING NOISE. DEALER CHANGED OIL, ROTATED TIRES, AND COMPLETED A MULTI POINT INSPECTION. SUGGESTED ROTATING TIRES AND CHANGING AIR PRESSURE SHOULD HELP THE PROBLEM. THE SQUEAKING CONTINUED BUT DID NOT OCCUR ALL THE TIME. WHEN CALLING THE DEALERSHIP AFTER IT PERSISTED THEY SUGGESTED IT MAY BE THE COLD WEATHER. 042613 CALLED THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE AFTER HAVING TIRE PRESSURE AND TIRES CHECKED THE NOISE CONTINUED & WAS OCCURRING OVER EVERY SPEED HUMP, WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO BREAK PEDAL WOULD NOT GO DOWN ON 3 OCCASIONS, & WHEN MAKING SHARP LEFT TURNS THE CAR MADE A KNOCKING SOUND. I WAS ALSO DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE 20,000 MILE SERVICE. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICED MY VEHICLE 042713 AND REPLACED THE LEFT/RIGHT INNER TIE RODS BUT WHEN THEY RETURNED MY VEHICLE THE WHEEL WAS NOT ALIGNED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THEIR MACHINE WAS BROKEN AND WHEN I COMPLAINED THEY ASKED ME TO BRING IT BACK THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY (050213) TO COMPLETE MY SERVICE. THEY ALSO MADE NOTE THERE WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE MY BRAKE PEDAL PROBLEMS. IN MY SERVICE REPORT THEY DID NOT NOTE THE OIL CHANGE, TIRE ROTATION, OR SERVICE. WHEN I MENTIONED THIS THE ADVISOR SAID IT WAS COMPLETED. 052913 I RETURNED MY CAR TO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I HAD MY BRAKE PEDAL STICK 2 MORE TIMES SINCE MY LAST VISIT, THE NOISE GOING OVER SPEED HUMPS RETURNED, THE KNOCKED NOISE DURING HARD LEFT TURNS NOW ALSO OCCURRED DURING A RIGHT TURN, & LEFT SIDE TURN NOISE RETURNED. UPON GOING OVER SMALL SIZE SPEED BUMP, I NOTICED A CLUNKING/GRINDING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT END. I JUST HAD THE BUMPER/QUARTER PANEL WORK DONE 2 DAYS AGO "FIRST TIME HITTING BUMPS". VEHICLE HAS CONTINUAL ISSUES GOING INTO 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. MANUAL TRANSMISSION. AFTER 11 MONTHS OF THIS ISSUE THE CLUTCH BURNED OUT, I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. I AM NOT STUCK WITH A REPAIR BILL BECAUSE FORD OR THE DEALERSHIP WILL DO ANYTHING. *TR
VEHICLE TURNED RIGHT FROM A STOP, ONTO A TEXAS STATE HIGHWAY. SHIFTING MANUALLY FROM FIRST GEAR TO SECOND GEAR, THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL (APPARENTLY DUE TO LOSS OF TRACTION BECAUSE THERE WAS A COATING OF FINE SAND ON THE TIRES). THE VEHICLE CROSSED 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC, AND IN DOING SO, WENT INTO A ROLL-OVER, REPORTS STATING THE VEHICLE ROLLED 4 TIMES, AND STRIKING A UTILITY POLL THAT STOPPED THE ROLL. THE UTILITY POLL WAS STRUCK ON THE PASSENGER SIDE, BY THE WINDSHIELD PILLAR, CAUSING TERRIFIC DAMAGE AND CAVE IN. THE UTILITY POLL WAS BROKEN, ALMOST SNAPPED IN HALF (THE UTILITY POLE WAS REPLACED). WHILE THERE WAS NO PASSENGER OTHER THAN THE DRIVER, THE ONLY AIRBAG IN THE CAR THAT DEPLOYED WAS THE DRIVER SIDE CURTAIN. THE SEVERITY OF THE CRASH WOULD INDICATE THAT ALL OF THE AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED, TO SHIELD THE DRIVER AND POTENTIAL PASSENGERS. DRIVER ALSO WENT INTO THE WINDSHIELD, THE STEERING WHEEL BAG NOT DEPLOYING. POTENTIAL BACK SEAT RIDERS SHOULD BE PROTECTED IN SUCH A DEVASTATING CRASH AS WELL. PHOTO EVIDENCE WOULD INDICATE ALL BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. THE DRIVER HAD NOT DISENGAGED PASSENGER BAGS (DRIVER/OWNER DOESN'T EVEN KNOW HOW TO DISENGAGE PASSENGER BAGS). ON ONE OCCASION A FEW WEEKS BEFORE THE CRASH, AN INFO LIGHT MESSAGE CAME ON FOR A FEW SECONDS WHILE OPERATING THE CAR, STATING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS WERE OFF. I COULDN'T FIGURE OUT WHY. I HAD NOT TURNED THEM OFF. I STOPPED THE CAR AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR THE MESSAGE HAD DISAPPEARED. I HAD TWO INCIDENTS OF UNINTENDED ACCELERATION IN MY 2012 FORD MUSTANG GT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION PREMIUM PKG. THESE TWO INCIDENTS OCCURRED ON THE SAME DAY MARCH 5, 2013. THE FIRST WAS AFTER I PICKED UP MY CAR FROM ITS GARAGE OF SEVERAL WEEKS AT LUNCH AND DROVE BACK TO WORK. I HAD GONE ABOUT TWO BLOCKS FROM MY GARAGE AND WAS BRAKING TO SLOW DOWN TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN THE CAR DOWN SHIFTED AND ACCELERATED BY ITSELF WHILE I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I WAS GOING ABOUT 5 MPH WHEN THIS ALL STARTED. IT LASTED FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS AND THEN THE CAR RELEASED AND STOPPED THE ACCELERATION AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND MAKE MY RIGHT HAND TURN. I CONTINUED ON BACK TO WORK AND COMPLAINED TO MY CO-WORKER ABOUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND HOW I WAS BEGINNING TO BECOME AFRAID OF THE MUSTANG. HE IS MY WITNESS ABOUT THIS HAPPENING BEFORE THE SECOND INCIDENCE OCCURRED. LATER ON I LEFT WORK TO GO HOME AND ON THE WAY HOME IT HAPPENED AGAIN A SECOND TIME ONLY THIS TIME MUCH STRONGER. I WAS IN BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC GOING UNDER INTERSTATE HWY 820 BRIDGE IN FORT WORTH TO GO UNDER THE BRIDGE AFTER GOING THROUGH A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON EACH SIDE TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN TO GET ON THE WEST BOUND IH820. WELL BECAUSE OF THE TRAFFIC YOU HAVE TO STOP AT ONE LIGHT ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE BRIDGE AND THEN AGAIN STOP TO GET THROUGH THE SECOND LIGHT ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE BRIDGE TO TURN LEFT. ANYWAY THERE WAS A LARGE SEMI-TRUCK HAULING ROCKS IN FRONT OF ME AND I STAYED BACK ABOUT 60 FEET SO AS NOT TO GET THE ROCKS ON NEW CAR. HE WENT DOWN TO THE OTHER LIGHT WHICH WAS RED AND STOPPED I WAS GOING ABOUT 5 MPH AGAIN AND STARTED TO BRAKE WAY BACK FROM HIM BECAUSE OF THE ROCKS AND THE RED LIGHT. THE CAR AGAIN ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. I FOUGHT IT THE WHOLE WAY BUT IT WOULD NOT LET RELEASE TILL 15 FEET FROM TRUCK. I THEN CRASHED. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! *TR
IN 2012 OR 2013 I HAD AN ACCIDENT CAUSED BY UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. THE MUSTANG RAN INTO THE BACK OF SEMI TRUCK. UNATTENDED ACCELERATION HAPPENED TWICE IN THE SAME DAY AND THE SECOND TIME I COULD NOT GET IT TO BREAK FREE AND STOP UNTIL THE LAST SECOND BUT IT WAS TOO LATE IT HIT THE SEMI TRUCK TRAILER IN FRONT OF ME. THIS WAS INSPITE OF ME HAVING BOTH FEET PUSHING STRONGLY ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. WE HAD STARTED OFF SLOWLY FROM A RED LIGHT AND THEN THE CAR DOWNSHIFTED AND TOOK OFF. SOUTHWEST FORD IN WEATHERFORD, TX HAD CALLED THE FORD ENGINEER TO COME LOOK AT IT. IT TOOK A MONTH FOR HIM TO COME. HE LOOKED AT IT IN ITS BANGED UP SHAPE AND DECLARED THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. WHEN I GOT THE CAR BACK SOMETHING HAD CHANGED. IT SEEMED LIKE THE SOFTWARE HAD BEEN CHANGED BECAUSE IT NEVER HAD THE PROBLEM AGAIN AND WHENEVER THE BRAKE WAS TOUCHED IT WOULD KILL ANY ACCELERATION IMMEDIATELY. ALSO I LOST ABOUT 3 MILES PER GALLON TILL THIS DAY. THE ENGINEER BLAMED ME WHEN HE OBVIOUSLY UPDATED THE SOFTWARE. ALSO THE VERY NEXT DAY AFTER THE ENGINEERS VISIT FORD WAS HIT WITH A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT FOR JUST THIS REPORTED UNATTENDED ACCELERATION ACROSS MOST OF ITS MODELS. NOT MY FAULT! *TR
ON FEBRUARY 16, 2013 ON A CLEAR SUNNY DAY, WITHOUT WARNING (NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR OTHER VISIBLE/AUDIBLE SIGNAL), MY MUSTANG BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND DIE WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON A LOCAL FREEWAY IN THE FAST LANE. EFFORTS TO DOWNSHIFT AND REV THE ENGINE TO KEEP IT ALIVE FAILED. I WAS FORCED TO PULL THE VEHICLE HARD OVER TO THE BREAKDOWN AREA IN THE CENTER OF THE HIGHWAY JUST AS THE ENGINE COMPLETELY DIED. EFFORTS TO RESTART IT FAILED - THE ENGINE CRANKED, BUT WOULD NOT TURN OVER. MY FAMILY (INCLUDING A 4 YEAR OLD) WERE WAS STUCK FOR 45 FRIGHTENING MINUTES WAITING FOR A TOW AS VEHICLES WHIZZED BY. *TR
IT WAS A CLEAR AND WARM DAY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. ROADS HAD NO DIRT, WATER, DEBRIS, ETC..I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35-40 AND HAD JUST GONE IN TO 4TH GEAR. MY 2012 V6 MUSTANG SUDDENLY SWERVED TO THE LEFT REALLY HARD FORCING ME IN TO THE LEFT LANE AND ALMOST IN TO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THEN TO THE RIGHT WHICH ALMOST MADE ME LOSE CONTROL. FELT LIKE EACH TIRE WAS LOCKING UP INDEPENDENTLY. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT WAS FLASHING. FELT LIKE I GOT A FLAT AND THAT MY CAR WAS BRAKING ALL BY ITSELF. I TRIED TO THROTTLE UP A SECOND LATER TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC AND IT HAD NO RESPONSE. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN PULLING OVER I HIT THE BRAKES AND THEY SOUNDED LIKE METAL ON METAL, FELT ROUGH AND LIKE THE ABS WAS ENGAGING. ONCE STOPPED I CHECKED THE TIRES AND ALL WERE FINE. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND WAITED A SECOND. TURNED IT BACK ON AND ALL SEEMS FINE. THIS MADE ME ALMOST CRASH IN TO ANOTHER CAR!!!! TL- THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH THE VEHICLE REVVED UP AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE INTO FIFTH GEAR. THE FAILURE OCCURRED INTERMITTENTLY AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000. *TR
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
TRANSMISSIONS 3RD GEAR SYNCHRONIZATION PLATE FAILED. THE CAR IS LOCKED OUT OF THAT GEAR. *TR
THE REAR DEFROST CABLE DETACHED FROM MY WINDSHIELD CAUSING ME NOT TO BE ABLE TO DEFROST THE REAR WINDOW. THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE AS I LIVE IN A COLD WEATHER AREA AND I CANNOT KEEP THE BACK WINDOW CLEAR. I HAVE SEEN A FEW COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS ON FORD FORUMS. *TR
