2006 FORD RANGER. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BROKEN TIMING CHAIN. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED TIMING CHAIN GUIDE WAS TRAPPED BETWEEN THE GEAR AND PLASTIC COVER. THE HOLE IN THE COVER WAS ENLARGED TO REMOVE THE BROKEN CHAIN POSITION. ALSO, THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME COMPLETING THE AIRBAG RECALL REPAIR. *JS

BOTH DEALERS CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A SECOND RECALL NOTICE THAT STATED THAT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TAKATA RECALL- FORD REPEATEDLY SENDS NOTICE OF RECALL AND STATES PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AND TO CONTACT A DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE DEALER STATES THERE ARE NO PARTS AND WILL CONTACT ME WHEN AVAILABLE. I AM NEVER CONTACTED. THE LAST FORD RECALL LETTER STATES IN RED LETTERS "DO NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE" UNTIL THE AIRBAG REPAIR IS COMPLETED, BUT IT NEVER GETS REPAIRED BECAUSE THEY CLAIM PARTS HAVE TO BE ORDERED. I HAVE A VEHICLE THAT IS NOT SAFE AND THAT I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD OF TIME. NO ASSISTANCE IS GIVEN BY FORD OR IT'S DEALERSHIPS.
IN JAN. 2018 I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD I CALLED CAPITAL FORD IN CARSON CITY NV I WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER GAVE THEM MY NAME AND PHONE NUMBER, TOLD THEY WOULD CALL WHEN PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. THEY NEVER CALLED FEB. 2018 RECEIVED PHONE NOTICE ABOUT RECALL FROM FORD. CALLED CAPITAL FORD AGAIN ABOUT IT AND ASKED ABOUT LOANER CAR TILL IT COULD BE FIXED, I WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T HELP ME, AND HUNG UP. SAME DAY 2-16-18 I CALLED FORDS NUMBER ON RE,CALL NOTICE THEY CONTACTED CAPITAL FORD I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CONTACT ME THAT DAY ABOUT SITUATION. CAPITAL FORD HAS NEVER RETURNED A CALL YET. YESTERDAY 2-22-18 I RECEIVED ANOTHER RECALL NOTICE THAT I SHOULD NOT OPERATE VEHICLE TILL REPAIRED. I CAPITAL NOT RECEIVED REPLIES TO ANY OF MY REQUEST FOR SERVICE A AND OR A LOANER VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL GETTING NOTICES SINCE 2015 ON THIS ISSUE AND STILL NOTHING DONE. DEALER TELLS ME PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL SAFETY NOTICE 18S02. RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY STATING THE AIR BAGS NEED TO BE REPLACED. CALLED THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AND SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME EVEN THOUGH THE LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR STATES PARTS ARE AVAILABLE. FORD DEALERSHIP REPRESENTATIVE SAID THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE AND WILL CALL ME BACK WHEN THEY DO. I'M CONFUSED! WHY IS FORD MOTOR COMPANY SENDING LETTERS OUT WITH INACCURATE INFORMATION? THANK YOU.
TAKATA RECALL. I CALLED A FORD DEALER IN MY AREA AND WAS TOLD THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ETA FOR THE PARTS. THEY REFERRED ME TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AND THEY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND TOLD ME THE SAME INFORMATION, DON'T KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE REPAIR. I HAVE RECEIVED NUMEROUS CALLS, LETTERS AND EMAILS TELLING ME THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE FIXED AND NOT TO DRIVE IT. CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID I CAN DRIVE THE CAR. WHY THE CONTRADICTION ?

TAKATA RECALL, WE HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS RECALL DONE FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. THEY KEEP TELLING US THAT THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. I HAVE RECEIVED NOTICES THAT SAY DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE. WE ARE A BUSINESS THAT DEPENDS ON THIS VEHICLE TO GET OUR JOB ACCOMPLISHED. WE CANNOT PARK THIS VEHICLE WITHOUT SOME SORT OF RENTAL PROVIDED BY THE DEALER. THEY HAVE TOLD US ON THIS LATEST ONE THAT IT WILL BE SOMETIME IN MARCH. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT WE ARE TOLD TO PARK OUR VEHICLE BUT IF WE HAD DONE SO EVEN FROM THIS LATEST RECALL NOTICE WE WOULD BE WITHOUT THIS VEHICLE FOR OVER A MONTH TO THIS POINT WITH NO GUARANTEE OF WHEN IT WOULD BE FIXED. THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY OF INFORMING CONSUMERS THAN TO SAY DO NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE BUT BY THE WAY WE WILL NOT KNOW HOW LONG YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT. THANKS
I HAVE CALLED SUNRISE FORD DEALERSHIP IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA MORE THAN A DOZEN TIMES TO PICK UP MY TRUCK, AND PROVIDE A RENTAL VEHICLE TO NO AVAIL. I HAVE SPOKEN TO MANY FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES WITH NO SUCCESS. I USED THIS VEHICLE FOR MY BUSINESS AND SINCE THIS RECAL, I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE IT. I DO HAVE ANOTHER FORD RANGER-2006 VIN : [XXXX] WITH THE SAME AIR BAG ISSUES. TAKATA RECALL I HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL RECALL NOTICES OVER THE COURSE OF APPROSIMATELY 2 YEARS. THE LATEST WAS RECEIVED EARLY FEB 2018. IT STATES THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE RECALL PROBLEM, YET DEALERSHIPS HAVE NO PARTS AND DONT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET MORE. THE DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT HELPFUL AND I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. IN THE PAST, WHEN I HAVE ASKED TO BE PUT ON A LIST, I NEVER GET A CALL BACK. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE FORD DEALERSHIPS ARE BEING ATTENTIVE AND THE FORD CUSTOMER SERIVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. IVE CALLED THE FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AUTOMATED LINE AND IT DOESNT EVEN RECOGNIZE THEIR OWN RECALL NUMBER 17S42....AND THEN IT HANGS UP ON ME. I JUST WANT MY VEHICLE FIXED. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG SAFETY RECALL. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER ADVISED THE FIRST SET OF REPLACED AIRBAGS WERE TEMPORARY AIRBAGS AND WOULD NEED TO RETURN TO HAVE THE ANOTHER REPAIR COMPLETED. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE 17S42 FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS INFLATORS THAT MAY EXPLODE IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THAT CAN CAUSE DEPLOYMENT OF EITHER FRONTAL AIRBAG. IF THIS WERE TO EXPLODE METAL FRAGMENTS COULD STRIKE THE DRIVER AND/OR PASSENGER CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. WE WERE ADVISED THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE BUT WHEN CALLING THE DEALER WE ARE BEING TOLD THAT IT MAY BE ANOTHER MONTH BEFORE THEY ARE RECEIVED AT THE SERVICES DEPARTMENTS.

I HAVE GOTTEN NUMEROUS NOTICES OF RECALL AND HAVE TAKEN MY RANGER TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER , SPRADLEY FORE IN PUEBLO COLORADO. THEY SCHEDULED ME AN APPOINTMENT AND THEN TOLD ME UPON ARRIVAL THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND COULDN'T REPLACE THE AIR BAGS. THEY SAID FORD WAS CONCENTRATING ON AREAS OF THE COUNTRY WITH HIGH HUMIDITY AND PUEBLO, COLORADO DID NOT QUALIFY. I HAVE NOW GOTTEN NOTICES NOT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE.

I CALLED FORD'S 866-436-7332 NUMBER (LISTED IN THE RECALL) ON MARCH 19TH (CASE #14406815) AND WAS INFORMED PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND THEY WERE SENDING INSTRUCTIONS TO JIM HASSLER AT CRATER LAKE FORD FOR ORDERING. ON SUBSEQUENT CONTACTS I WAS TOLD PARTS WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE. I THEN CONTACT BRAIN HALL ON MARCH 26TH @ BUTLER FORD, ASHLAND, OREGON AND WAS INFORMED PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE ALSO. I SUBSEQUENTLY TALKED WITH MARK RETTER @ BUTLER FORD ON APRIL 4TH AND 9TH AND RECEIVED THE SAME INFORMATION. THERE MUST BE A BREAKDOWN IN INFORMATION/COMMUNICATION BETWEEN FORD AND ITS DEALERS. TAKATA RECALL ON 01/11/2018 I WENT TO THE SAFECAR.GOV WEBSITE TO VERIFY THE TAKATA RECALL ON MY 2006 FORD RANGER. AFTER I VERIFIED IT, I CONTACTED THE WEST-HERR FORD DEALERSHIP IN HAMBURG, NY, TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. I WAS TOLD BY THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT THE PARTS REQUIRED TO FIX THE RECALL ARE NOT AVAILABLE AND WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL AT LEAST 02/28/2018. A RENTAL VEHICLE WAS NOT OFFERED. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE CONSIDERING THE LOCAL NEWS IS URGING OWNERS OF THE VEHICLES NOT TO DRIVE THEM UNTIL THE PROBLEM IS FIXED. I EVEN CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE 1-800-392-3673 AND WAS GIVEN THE SAME RUN AROUND EXCUSE. NO RENTAL VEHICLE OFFERED. I ALSO CONTACTED DAVE SMITH FORD IN WILLIAMSVILLE, NY, AND WAS TOLD YET AGAIN THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. I WASN'T OFFERED A RENTAL NOR WAS I EVEN GIVEN A POSSIBLE DATE AS TO WHEN THE PARTS WOULD ARRIVE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS TO ME! FORD HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO GET THESE PARTS OUT TO DEALERSHIPS. OWNERS ARE BEING TOLD NOT TO DRIVE THEIR VEHICLES AND TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP COME AND TOW THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
