FORD NOTIFIED ME OF THE RECALL STATING PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. I'VE CONTACTED MULTIPLE DEALERS FOR THREE WEEKS AND NONE HAVE THE PARTS. THEY DON'T EXPECT THE PARTS TO BE AVAILABLE FOR ANOTHER THREE WEEKS. THEY TOLD ME THAT THREE WEEKS AGO. THEIR ADVICE IS FOR ME TO STOP DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHICH LEAVES ME WITH NO VEHICLE. FORD'S ACTIONS ARE IRRESPONSIBLE WITH THEIR APPROACH TO THIS RECALL.

"TAKATA RECALL" 'YOUR DEALER IS AUTRHORIZED TO PROVIDE A RENTAL VEHICLE FOR YOUR PERSONAL TRANSPORTATION . . .' MY PROBLEM IS THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THEY HAVE A BACK LOG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MORE THAN A YEAR. MY VEHICLE IS MY ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION AND I HAVE MISSED 2 DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS THAT REQUIRES ME A ONE AND ONE HALF HOUR TO DRIVE. THE PROBLEM IS THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT FORD WILL ONLY PAY FOR 2 DAYS RENTAL. I ALSO LIVE IN A RURAL AREA OF NORTH ARKANSAS. AT THIS DATE, THE DEALER IS STILL WAITING FOR THE BACK ORDER, HAS NO CARS TO RENT, AND BEING IN A RURAL AREA THERE ARE NO CAR RENTAL AGENCIES WITH IN A SHORT DISTANCE.

RUST. SPRING SHACKLES RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING SPRINGS TO DISLODGE AND RUB BODY BED. BED OF TRUCK RUSTED THROUGH CAUSING HOLES. RUNNING BOARDS HAVE SEVER RUST AND NEED REPLACING. VEHICLE HAS 60,000 MILES AND UNDER CARRIAGE HAS RUSTED HOLES IN FRAME.

THE ENTIRE FRAME IS RUSTED, THE RUST ON THE FRAME AROUND THE REAR SPRING SHACKLE RUSTED ENOUGH THAT THE SHACKLE IS BROKEN FREE. THIS WAS NOTICED DUE TO THE NOISES THE SHACKLE MAKES WHEN MOVING. THE VEHICLE HAS LESS THAN 108,000 MILES. IN ADDITION THE SIDE STEPS RUSTED THROUGH AND WERE HANGING DOWN, I HAD TO REMOVE THEM TO PREVENT THEM FROM FALLING OFF.
TAKATA RECALL. MY VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED IN THE REPLACEMENT OF AN AIRBAG PART WHERE THE AIRBAG GOES IN THE DASH WHEN IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP MECHANIC AREA BEING WORKED ON. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NOT RUNNING
I HAVE TRIED FOUR TIMES IN THE LAST TWO YEARS TO GET MY AIRBAGS REPLACED AFTER RECEIVING THE NOTICE AT LITHIA FORD IN BOISE IDAHO AT 8853 WEST FAIRVIEW AVE BOISE, ID 83704. FINALLY I HAD AN APPOINTMENT TODAY BUT WHEN I WENT IN THEY HAD NO RECORD OF MY APPOINTMENT BUT ALSO SAID THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT YET FOR MY AIRBAGS THOUGH IT STATES CLEARLY ON THE RECALL NOTICE IN FEB 2016 - NOTICE NUMBER 15S22/NHTSA RECALL 15V-322 THAT THERE WAS A REPLACEMENT OVER A YEAR AGO? I WAS INFORMED BY [XXX] , SERVICE ADVISOR AT 0945AM ON NOV 9, 2017 THAT I NEED TO CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO GET AN ANSWER AS TO WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE. I HAVE CALLED THAT NUMBER THREE TIMES, AND ALL THREE TIMES AFTER GOING THROUGH THE MENU AND GETTING PUT ON HOLD FOR A SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE FROM FORD THE CALL JUST RETURNED TOT HE BEGINNING OF THE PROCESS. I JUST WANT MY AIRBAGS REPLACED IF THEY ARE GOING TO KILL ME OR SOMEONE WITH ME BUT APPARENTLY THIS IS NOT POSSIBLE? I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THIS PROCESS. ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO I RECEIVED A NOTICE FOR A RECALL ON MY RANGERS AIRBAGS AND FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS AND HAD IT REPLACED BY MY LOCAL FORD DEALER. A MONTH AGO WHILE THE RANGER BEING PARKED AT A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT I OBSERVED ANOTHER PARKED CAR REVERSING BACK INTO THE FRONT END OF THE RANGER CAUSING NO PHYSICAL DAMAGE TO THE FRONT OF THE RANGER, ONLY TO HAVE BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS TO INFLATE PREMATURELY. THIS MERE IMPACT SHOULD NOT HAVE CAUSED THE AIRBAGS TO INFLATE IN THE MANNER THAT IT DID.
TAKATA RECALL - RECEIVED NOTICE OF RECALL
SEVERE RUST ENTIRE BACK HALF OF TRUCK. FIRST THE SPARE TIRE FELL OFF WHILE DRIVING AND THE EVAP CANISTER WAS BROKEN. THE BED ROTTED OUT AND MY GAS TANK WAS IN DANGER OF FALLING OFF. THE CROSS MEMBERS BROKE WHILE DRIVING ON A TOWN DIRT ROAD CAUSING THE CROSS MEMBER TO RUB AGAINST THE DRIVE SHAFT. I HAD TO USE A CARGO STRAP TO HOLD UP THE GAS TANK SO I COULD GET HOME WHICH LUCKILY WAS ONLY ABOUT A MILE.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A SHOP FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE SUBFRAME WAS SEVERELY RUSTED, AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE BRAKE LINES WERE RUSTED THROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WERE CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE REAR SHACKLES RUSTED THROUGH AND BROKE OFF FROM THE LEAF SPRINGS. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON CITY STREETS. WHEN TURNING CORNERS THE SOUND OF THE BROKEN SHACKLE ROLLING BACK AND FORTH ON THE BACK OF THE BUMPER ALERTED ME TO THE SITUATION. I AM THIRD OWNER AND THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF VERY WELL

STILL WAITING FOR REPLACEMENT AIRBAG FROM LOCAL FORD DEALER
The contact owns a 2006 Ford Ranger. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V788000 (Air Bags). The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, both driver and passenger front air bags deployed without impact. The contact lost control and the vehicle then crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The contact received shoulder and neck injuries, medical attention was needed. The second vehicle occupant also sustained a back injury and medical attention was sought. A police report was filed but the information was not available. The contact cut the air bags out with a pocket knife and the vehicle was taken to the resident. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the dealer refused to diagnose or repair the vehicle under the recall until the SRS system and passenger seat belt were repaired since it was locked. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and was transferred to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 220,000.

My truck has been to the dealer on a number of occasions. The dealership (Access Ford, Corpus Christi, Texas) claims that the air bag was replaced. I brought the truck to the dealership in for the airbag issue in January 2017. When I kept receiving notices about the recall and checking the data bases (data bases noted the recall as not completed) I brought the truck back to the dealership in April 2023. Again a check of the recall data bases noted that the recall was not completed. During the April 2023 visit the dealership stated that it was a documentation issue and would recheck the air bag part and ID number and reenter it into the system. Checked the data bases recently and found that the recall was still in effect. Called Ford corporate customer service and they referred me to the dealership. Spoke to a service writer [XXX] at the dealership on June 20,2023 and she stated that there was some issues with their warranty person and would look into the issue and try and get my recall data updated accordingly. As of today (June 26, 2023) checked the data bases and the airbag recall has not been completed. My insurance company is believes that failure to prove that the recall was completed may have a negative effect on my vehicle insurance if an accident occurs. Can this confusion be rectified or do I need to take the truck in again to the dealer? (Copy of receipts for work done attached.) THE RECALL SAYS THE DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR COULD RUPTURE IF THE VEHICLE IS INVOLVED IN A CRASH WHERE THE SUPPLEMENTAL FRONTAL AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY. IF THIS OCCURS, IT MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF INJURY OR DEATH TO THE OCCUPANTS. REAR LEAF-SPRING SHACKLES AND HANGERS ON MY 2006 FORD RANGER ARE RUSTED OUT, ONE OF THE SHACKLES BROKE FREE FROM THE FRAME WHILE I WAS DRIVING, MADE IT HARDER TO STEER BECAUSE THE TRUCK FELT NOWHERE NEAR AS STABLE AS IT WAS BEFORE IT BROKE, IT CAUSED ME TO SWERVE INTO THE LANE BESIDE ME WHICH VERY WELL COULD HAVE CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IF SOMEONE WERE TO BE THERE.
