MY PARENTS 2009 FORD RANGER HAS HAD AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES. WE TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A WHEEL SPEED SENSOR WAS NOT WORKING. THEY INSTALLED IT AND IT DIDN'T RESOLVE THE PROBLEM! ON DAY TWO, THEY CAME UP WITH A NEW DIAGNOSIS THAT THE TONE/EXCITER RING WAS DAMAGED BY A PREVIOUS MECHANIC/BRAKE JOB. THE TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 35,000 MILES. THEY WANTED ANOTHER $400 TO REPLACE THE TONE RING. I DECLINED BECAUSE IT WAS WAY TOO MUCH MONEY AFTER PAYING $300 FOR THE SENSOR. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T WARRANTY THEIR WORK, AFTERWARDS, I BEGAN TO RESEARCH FORD BRAKE ISSUES, AND SPECIFICALLY ABS & TONE RING ISSUES. IT TURNS OUT, THAT AFTER LOOKING AT VARIOUS YOUTUBE VIDEOS, FORD FORUMNS, ARTICLES, ETC. I LEARNED THAT FORD HAS HAD SIGNIFICANT ABS ISSUES ESPECIALLY IN 2008 AND 2009. EVEN MORE INTERESTING WAS THE FACT THAT MANY MODELS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEMS (FOCUS AND ESCAPE) AND HAVE MAY HAVE BEEN RECALLED. NOT 100% SURE, BUT THE RANGER HAS NOT. BASICALLY, THE TONE RING IS ATTACHED TO THE WHEEL HUB/AXLE AND SPINS WITH THE TIRE. THIS CREATES A MAGNETIC FIELD WHEREIN THE SENSOR DETERMINES THE SPEED OF THE WHEEL. IF THE TONE RING IS DAMAGED, THE SENSOR SENDS VARIOUS ERROR CODES TO THE ECM AT WHICH POINT THE ABS BRAKE WILL DISENGAGE THE BRAKES ON THE WHEEL AFFECTED. AND THEN IT WILL ENGAGE THE BRAKES, AND REPEAT THIS UNTIL THE VEHICLE COMES TO A STOP. ESSENTIALLY, THE ABS SYSTEM OVERRIDES THE BREAK PEDAL AND YOU LOSE BRAKING ABILITY ON THAT WHEEL. NOT ONLY THAT, WITH MY VEHICLE, THE ABS WARNING LIGHTS HAVE NEVER COME ON; EVEN AFTER THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR. THE VEHICLE IS GETTING WORSE. AT EVERY STOP IT'S MAKING NOISES AND IT'S HARDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AS I SAID EARLIER, THE THEORY IS THE CORROSION OF THE AXLE IS BREAKING THE RING, WHICH IS ANOTHER NON RUSTING METAL, I'M PRETTY SURE THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT EXAMINE THE RING. HELP!!!!

MY FATHER WAS KILLED IN DOWNTOWN MEADE KANSAS LESS THAN 20 MILES PER HOUR HIT BY 2 SEMIS ON HIGHWAY 54. I HAVE NO IDEA WHETHER AIRBAGS WERE INVOLVED IN HIS DEATH BUT I THOUGHT DRIVERS SIDE HAD BEEN REPLACED THEY HADN'T GOT DRIVERS SIDE LAST WEEK! I HAVE RECEIVED THREE AIRBAG SAFETY RECALL NOTICES 18S01 WITH HONE NUMBER 866-436-7332 & 866-436-7332 BUT WHEN I CALL THEY DO NOT RECOGNIZE THE RECALL NUMBER SO AM NOT ABLE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. MY SECOND PROBLEM IS I LIVE IN ALASKA ON AN ISLAND THE NEAREST FORD DEALER IS 300 MILES BY FERRY IT TAKES ABOUT 14 HOURS ONE WAY TO GET TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS. EVEN IF I GET APPROVAL IT WOULD COST AT LEAST $1000. FOR FERRY TICKET FOR THE CAR AND DRIVER, HOTEL, FOOD TO GET TO JUNEAU. I WOULD APPRICATE A REPLY ON THE RAECALL ISSUE FROM YOU.

TAKATA NHTSA RECALL 16V-384. JIM HUDSON FORD IN LEXINGTON SC STATES THAT PARTS HAVE BEEN ON ORDER OVER A MONTH AND STILL NOT RECEIVED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY NOTIFIED ME THE FIRST PART OF APRIL THAT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND SCHEDULE REPAIR. I HAVE TRIED OVER A MONTH NOW TO GET REPAIRED, AT LEAST ONCE WEEKLY I CALL, AND AM TOLD "NO PARTS". ANY ASSISTANCE IN THIS PARTS PROBLEM WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

TAKATA RECALL...I STARTED GETTING LETTERS FROM FORD ADDRESSING THE RECALL AS IT PERTAINED TO MY FORD IN JULY OF 2016. I HAVE RECEIVED TWO SUBSEQUENT LETTERS FROM THEM STATING TO COME IN IMMEDIATELY TO GET THE CAR REPAIRED. IN BOTH CASES THEY TOLD ME THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX MY TRUCK. THE LATEST LETTER, APRIL 2018 AGAIN SAID THAT PARTS WERE AVAILABLE AND TO BRING MY TRUCK IN FOR REPAIR. I HAVE CALLED BOTH GALPIN FORD AND SUNRISE FORD AND THEY CLAIM THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND THERE IS NO ETA FOR THEIR ARRIVAL. IN THE MEAN IME ANYONE TRAVELLING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT OF MY TRUCK IS IN DANGER. FORD SHOULD BE CRIMINALLY AND CIVILLY LIABLE FOR THIS SITUATION. A 2009 FORD RANGER WAS PURCHASED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR A TOYOTA TACOMA THAT WAS SUBJECT TO THE MANUFACTURER BUY-BACK PROGRAM FOR DEFECTIVE FRAME STEEL RESULTING IN EXCESSIVE CORROSION. THE 2009 RANGER HAS NOW FAILED THE VERMONT VEHICLE INSPECTION FOR EXCESSIVE FRAME RUST IN SEVERAL LOCATIONS. THIS RANGER HAS 34,000 MILES ON IT AND MAY NOT BE REPAIRABLE (WILL BE DETERMINED IN THE NEAR FUTURE BY THE REGIONAL FORD DEALERSHIP.) IN MY OPINION, A VEHICLE WITH 34,000 MILES SHOULD NOT BE PRESENTING THIS LEVEL OF CORROSION. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS DEFECT.

I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE ABOUT MY 2009 FORD RANGER PASSENGER SIDE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR. I WENT TO WWW.AIRBAGRECALL.COM TO FIND AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE BILL TALLEY FORD, INC. 6280 MECHANICSVILLE TURNPIKE, MECHANICSVILLE (804) 746-2000. I BROUGHT MY TRUCK IN ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2017. I WAS TOLD BY THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT THE AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT PART WOULD NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THREE YEARS FROM NOW. MY TRUCK DID NOT GET AN AIRBAG INFLATOR REPLACEMENT PART.
I RECEIVED A PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG RECALL FROM FORD SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. FORD STATED THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THE REPAIR PARTS BECAME AVAILABLE. THEY NEVER DID. RECENTLY I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM TK HOLDINGS INC., (REPRESENTING TAKATA CORPORATION) THAT THEY HAVE FILED FOR CHAPTER 11 AND THAT I SHOULD CONTACT MY DEALER TO GET THE REPAIR DONE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH GALPIN FORD ON 11/28/1017 TO GET THE NECESSARY REPAIR. THEY CALLED ME BACK AND STATED THAT NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE. SO. I AM KNOWINGLY DRIVING AROUND WITH A DANGEROUS POTENTIALLY LETHAL ISSUE WITH NO RECOURSE. I FEEL THAT IF FORD CANNOT FIX MY TRUCK (BOUGHT NEW FROM FORD) THAT THEY SHOULD BUY THE CAR BACK FROM ME OR REPLACE THE TRUCK AS IF A LEMON LAW APPLIED. THE VALUE OF THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN SUBSTANTIALLY LOWERED BY FORD'S NEGLIGENCE.

TAKATA RECALL, CALLED DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE PARTS FOR THIS YET.
TAKATA RECALL I HAVE NOT HAD A SAFETY PROBLEM YET. HOWEVER, MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN A HOT HUMID ENVIRONMENT IN GEORGIA, USA. I FEAR THAT IT MAY HAVE A PROBLEM IF NOT FIXED. I HAVE CONTACTED TWO FORD DEALERS AND NEITHER WOULD AGREE TO FIX THE INFLATOR PROBLEM AND COULD NOT TELL ME WHEN IT WOULD BE FIXED. I WANT THE TAKATA AIR BAG INFLATOR PROBLEM FIXED!
TAKATA RECALL. IN JULY OF 2016, I RECEIVED A NOTICE INFORMING ME OF A DANGEROUS, FAULTY AIRBAG INFLATOR IN MY VEHICLE. THE NOTICE SAID I WOULD BE INFORMED AS SOON AS FORD IS ABLE TO CONDUCT A CORRECTIVE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT OF PROBLEMATIC PART. IT IS NOW OCTOBER 2017, AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED SUCH A COMMUNICATION; I HAVE CONFIRMED THIS UNAVAILABILITY OF REMEDIAL REPAIRS ONLINE. THE 15+ MONTH WAIT TIME TO HAVE THIS POTENTIALLY LETHAL DEFECT CORRECTED I CONSIDER UNACCEPTABLE.

TAFATA RECALL. WE RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH, 2017 AND CONTACTED A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE REPAIR MADE. AFTER THE PERSON LOOKED UP OUR VEHICLE IN HIS COMPUTER, HE REPLIED THAT "IT'S ONLY THE PASSENGER AIR BAG THAT'S AFFECTED, SO DON'T WORRY, THEY ONLY "GO OFF" IN HOT AND HUMID CLIMATES, AND SINCE PENNSYLVANIA ISN'T CONSIDERED A HOT AND HUMID CLIMATE, IT PROBABLY WON'T GO OFF". HE ESSENTIALLY REFUSED THIS REPAIR ON OUR VEHICLE. AND, NOW WE RECEIVE NOTICE THAT TAKATA HAS FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY, SO WHERE DOES THAT LEAVE US? I DO WANT TO NOTE THAT WE PURCHASED THE CAR IN ANOTHER STATE, BUT APPARENTLY THAT DOESN'T MATTER PER THE RECALL NOTICE. IT STATES TO CONTACT A LOCAL FORD OR LINCOLN DEALERSHIP TO REQUEST A FREE REPAIR. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHEN THIS REPAIR CAN BE MADE AND HOPEFULLY, BEFORE IT KILLS OR MAIMS SOMEONE IN THE VEHICLE, OR I DO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO SUE FORD, TAKATA AND THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FOR ALL THEY ARE WORTH.
I GOT A LETTER FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY DTD JULY 2016. STATED AIR BAG WAS DEFECTIVE AND FORD WAS GOING TO REPLACE AIR BAG. I HAVE GONE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THEN AND CALLED THEM AS WELL IN REFERENCE TO THE LIFE AND DEATH RECALL FOR AIR BAG THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED IT YET. THEY KEEP SAYING I WILL BE NOTIFIED. IT HAS BEEN 16 MONTHS .SINCE THIS WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION. STILL NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED HELP GETTING THE AIRBAGS REPLACED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED!
THE FRAME ON MY TRUCK HAS RUST HOLES THROUGHOUT THE SPARE TIRE SECTION ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT CROSS MEMBER SORROUNDING THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL. THE RADIATOR SUPPORT AND BATTERY SUPPORT ARE HOLDING ON BY RUST AS WELL. THE BED FRAME HAS SUPPORTS THAT HOLD FENDERS ON AND THEY'RE RUSTED OUT. FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. MY TRUCK CANNOT BE THE ONLY ONE OUT THERE RUSTING THIS BAD THIS QUICK! IT'S VERY UNUSUAL. VA STATE POLICE WEREN'T ANY HELP OTHER THAN TELLING ME IT'S A CIVIL SUIT BETWEEN ME AND THE SELLER. I THINK IT'S MORE THAN THAT.
NOTIFIED BY PERSON DRIVING BEHIND ME MY SPARE TIRE WAS GOING TO FALL OUT. STOPPED AND HAD SOMEONE LOOK AT IT AND THE BED OF MY FORD RANGER HAD RUSTED OUT AND IF I HADN'T STOPPED IT WOULD HAVE FALLEN OUT ON THE HIGHWAY. WE EXAMINED UNDER TRUCK AND THE WHOLE BACK BED IS RUSTED OUT.

IF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHY IS FORD ALLOWED TO NOT DO MY SAFETY BAG REPAIR ?TO THIS DATE 6/7/2017 NO REPAIR HAS BEEN MADE .
